so i'm watching game changer season 6, and i wasnt expecting to see you on there! what was it like being on set and meeting everyone?
das me! long post under the cut
it was terrifying but super fun. i was notified maybe like 5 days before i was cast so luckily i didn't have much time to be anxious about it. i definitely almost said no but i promised myself a while ago to not shy away from scary or new experiences. sam texted me right after i turned in all my paperwork and was super encouraging and told me to just be myself
it was super cool doing the whole hair and makeup process, all the makeup artists were so kind and helped calm my nerves a lot! it was nice being cast with friends also. just talking with caldwell and nathan in the greenroom beforehand and hearing that they were also nervous made me feel more comfortable. i got to briefly meet oscar and ally since i believe they filmed the "second place" episode right before ours. they were lovely!
this entire thing truly played on so many of my fears. improv, being on camera, and then having to draw on a time crunch and be funny while being recorded at the same time. i texted some youtuber friends beforehand to ask for tips which really helped remind myself stay grounded. i weirdly wasn't too nervous during the actual games since i was so focused on trying to be funny. i did feel like i was gonna pass out every time we took a break tho LOL. it was really funny, during each break, sam kept walking up to me and ominously saying "someone you know is here" which also helped take my mind off of the nerves. i was like "do they know who my brother is? is jaymin about to show up on the show??" it was sarah natochenny which was also a super fun surprise. apparently sam didn't tell her i was gonna be on the show and just alluded to a "pokemon fanartist" being one of the contestants and she told me that she was just like "is it kiana" LMAOOO.
but again, it was sooooo much fun. i don't think i'd ever laughed so much. every challenge was hilarious and everyone was just having a good time. my favorite was definitely face painting for the kids. they were adorableeee and it was the one challenge where literally all my nerves melted away (i wanna be a mom someday and i love working with kids so i was livinggg).
despite the anxiety, i had an amazing time and would definitely do something like this again!

Waking up in Bucky’s arms felt different than it had the night before. This morning felt a bit easier and, dare you think, it was natural. A hand moved up and down your back, but it was more of a soothing motion than trying to turn you on. It was so comfortable that it almost put you back to sleep.
“Morning,” he whispered against your forehead.
“Morning,” you whispered back, waiting for him to inevitably start groping you. He didn’t. “Wait, you’re not dry humping me today?”
He let out a sleepy chuckle. “Not unless you want me to,” he teased, leaning back to gaze at you.
You looked at him, too. It was the most relaxed and well rested you had seen him look since you met. And the happiest. You being in the penthouse really made a difference in the dangerous man.
“Did you sleep okay?” he asked, brushing a finger along your cheek.
“Yeah,” you answered. You hadn't meant to fall asleep in the living room, but he didn't seem to mind. “Did you?”
“I did.” He sat up after a moment and stretched. “I’m actually kind of glad we didn't sleep in our bed.”
“Why is that?” you asked.
“Because we haven't made love yet,” he answered in a low voice.
You ignored the heat flowing from your core. “I’m kind of surprised you're holding out,” you said. With the way he always had to touch you and the filthy things that spewed from his mouth, he had to be a ticking time bomb.
Your reaction to him surprised you, too. It was just days ago when you wretched from just the stress of him blowing up your life and everything. Yet last night, you got yourself on his thigh with his encouragement and you willingly slept in his arms. Did that say more about you or him?
He sighed. “Once I have you I won't be able to stop. That’s how much I want you and will keep wanting you,” he admitted, separating himself from you more. “But I want your trust and forcing you into bed won't build it. We’ll be back at square one.”
You blinked slowly. Bucky pushed your boundaries one second and backed off the next. He tore through your walls and rebuilt them just as quickly. The man was a puzzle you feared you’d never figure out.
“It isn't just my trust that you want from me,” you said. That wouldn’t be enough for him. “You want me to love you.”
His eyes bore into yours and it felt like he was letting a wall down for you. “Yes, I do want you to love me,” he said, his voice thick. “I want a life with you and whatever exists beyond that.”
You swallowed. The air was too thick in the room, the emotions raw. He wanted you to love him even after you were gone from this world. “Your Pisces is showing again,” you whispered like it was a secret.
“Well, you did say I was intense, passionate, and I want to be close to the person I fall for,” he whispered, brushing a kiss to your lips and helping you slowly stand. “It shouldn’t come as a surprise to you.”
“I guess not,” you agreed, looking around. You hadn’t checked your phone at all since you went to his place. “What time is it?”
“Still early. Why don’t we have breakfast and then you can get ready for your day out?” he suggested.
That brought a smile to your face. “Yeah, let’s do that.”
His smile wasn’t as bright as yours as he led you to the kitchen and helped you take a seat at the island. “Eager to spend the day away from me?”
He sounded so sad you almost went to him to hug him. “I’m eager to spend the day with my friends,” you corrected him, watching him move around the kitchen with ease. “They’re kind of like sisters to me.”
“Sisters.” He paused and looked at you with a careful eye. “Do you realize you’ve never talked about your family with me? Not once.”
You kept a neutral expression, but you wrung your hands together in your lap. You were surprised it took him this long to point that out. “There isn’t much to say.”
He set two mugs on the coffee maker. “I think there is,” he said, facing you again. “You always mention your friends, your coworkers, Mrs. Crandle, and there’s always affection and love there, but never your parents. Why not?”
If he dug into your life the way he said he had, surely, he knew in some capacity. And it was too early to discuss them, but he would ask again later if you brushed it off. “Because they’re not exactly proud to have me as a daughter,” you sighed, trying not to reflect too deeply on that.
His mouth was set in a grim line. “Why not?” he all but snarled.
You shrugged and avoided his gaze. “I was just never good enough, you know? Whether it was my grades or sports or anything I tried, I was never… exceptional or special. Even when I did well at something it wasn't enough. It was always a toss-up between disappointment and indifference,” you explained. Your accomplishments weren't anything of importance in their eyes. “And when I said I wanted to be a florist I was pretty much told that my life was…” you paused. You weren’t going to cry. “A waste.”
“A waste?” The murderous expression on his face oddly brought you more comfort. “But you are exceptional. You lead with kindness and a good heart when it’s easier to be cruel or jaded. Your kindness saved my mom, and she knew you were special,” he said, shaking his head as he rounded the island. “It’s no wonder you never talk about them. It also explains more of why compliments make you feel uncertain.”
“It’s okay, Bucky,” you whispered.
Your parents weren’t bad people. They never raised a hand to you, and they gave you what you needed to survive in life, but not much else beyond that. No encouragement or affirmations of love. If you disappeared tomorrow, they wouldn’t know. You were invisible.
It was fine. You accepted a long time ago that you weren’t special in their eyes. The life you made in the city with your other loved ones was enough to give you a sense of family and it didn’t take away from the fact that you still loved your parents, but you refused to be like them. You’d still find ways to put kindness out into the world. You’d make others smile if you could. It wasn’t always much, but maybe it would make a difference in some way to someone.
And, well, who you were and what you did made a difference if you asked Bucky.
“It’s not okay,” he argued, framing your face. The intensity didn’t frighten you this time when you looked into his eyes. “And I’m so sorry I brought it up.”
“It really is okay,” you softly said, wondering how he got you to open up again. You would’ve had to talk about it sooner or later and there were people who grew up with much worse. “But you really think I’m exceptional? I’m just-”
He put his fingers to your lips, the thunderous look back on his face. “Don’t you dare say you’re just a florist or I’ll put you over my knee.”
Your eyes widened. He was serious. “I’m just… really hungry for breakfast?” you tried.
He exhaled deeply. “I’ll make sure you’re well fed,” he promised, going back to the task at hand. His shoulders were still stiff as he moved around. “When I compliment you, I mean it. And when I say you’re special or exceptional or anything else, I mean it. I won't let anyone make you feel less than what I know you are.”
Your chest tightened. “I know,” you whispered. The subtle threat to the cook for insulting your taste, beating up John for disrespecting you, he wasn't going to sit by and let people make you feel bad. Maybe one of the reasons he wanted to show you off to his loved ones was so you wouldn't feel invisible.
“Thank you for telling me, Kotyonok. I know that wasn't easy,” he praised.
“Thank you for asking,” you replied, allowing the warmth to settle in your chest.
“But I’m not asking your parent’s permission to marry you,” he blurted out, your eyes rounding. “They lost that privilege when they treated you the way they did.”
“They wouldn’t believe I was marrying you anyway,” you tried to joke. They would recognize immediately how out of your league he was.
“And they don’t need to come to the wedding either,” he snarled, carefully setting your coffee down in front of you when he looked close to throwing something. “It’ll be a small ceremony anyway. Just close friends and loved ones who matter.”
Your heart did a funny flutter. A small ceremony was exactly what you wanted. “Well, if my dad isn’t there, who will give me away?”
“Thor,” he answered without skipping a beat.
You burst out laughing, surprising both of you. The blonde would probably strut down the aisle. “I barely know Thor, but I feel like he'd probably shout something like ‘All rise for the soon-to-queen of the 107th’,” you mocked in what was a terrible impression of Thor.
Bucky laughed, too. “Not the best impression, Kotyonok, but you tried, and he’d probably say something exactly like that.”
“Well, whatever he says, I won’t walk down the aisle in some over the top dress. I want something beautiful, but simple. Same with the ceremony and reception,” you smiled. Something that was you. “And I get the final say in the flowers for obvious reasons.”
His eyes were full of love. Was he picturing you in a wedding gown? “As long as you get to be my wife, our wedding can be whatever you want it to be.”
Your smile slipped. His wife… You hadn’t shut down that you were going to marry him or pointed out how he was once again moving too fast. You even joked about your big day with him. “Um… breakfast?” Anything to distract you.
He had an easy smile on his face as he whipped up something quickly. Minus a quick thank you once he served it, you didn’t say anything else as you ate, and he didn’t push the conversation. Opening up a bit about your family and talking about marriage… Being in the penthouse destroyed your mental and emotional fail-safes.
“I should get ready,” you said, setting your finished plate in the sink and rinsing it.
“Me, too.” You felt him watching you. “If the weather’s nice tomorrow, we can have breakfast on the balcony. Maybe we can make it our routine on nice days.”
“Tomorrow?” you asked.
“If you want to spend the night again,” he casually replied, but you heard the want there. “Especially since we’ll be apart for most of the day.”
“Maybe,” you said. You had planned to just go back to your place once you got back from your day out. “We’ll play it by ear, okay?”
Disappointment showed for just a moment. “You said you’d spend time with me when you got back. That you’d let me know when you got back to the apartment so I could see you.”
“I did say that,” you agreed, remembering your promise when he tried to convince you not to go out today. “But maybe you can stop by the apartment. It could be fun.”
“I guess we’ll play it by ear,” he smiled.
You didn’t wait for him to follow as you went to get ready, but you did pause when you stood in the master bathroom. The left sink clearly belonged to Bucky. His toothbrush, cologne, everything was on that side. The right sink was yours. A toothbrush for you, a new bottle of perfume, deodorant, everything. It was like you were already living there.
You jumped when you felt a pair of lips on the side of your neck, your eyes meeting Bucky’s in the mirror. You hadn’t heard him come in, too distracted by your reality continuing to sink in. “I’ll miss you today,” he whispered, holding your hips.
“I’m not gone yet,” you whispered. You were there with him, in his grip. His touch would linger after he let go.
“I really hate having to share you,” he murmured, dragging his lips to your ear as your heart raced. “But I thankfully don’t have to share all of you.”
You gripped the sink when he snaked a hand between your legs. “Bucky,” you gasped.
“I know it’s selfish to ask when you’re spending time with your friends, but think of me,” he said, rubbing you through your pajamas and pressing his hips firmly against yours. Did being this close to you always make him hard? “Think of how much I want you.”
Your back arched when the metal hand moved to your breast and gently squeezed. You wanted to look away, but his reflection pulled your gaze to it. Trapping you, the way he had you trapped between him and the sink.
“Think of how much I need you,” he whispered, nipping your earlobe when you whimpered. The more he rubbed your pussy through the clothes the wetter the fabric got, the heavier your breathing became, and the more your head spun. “Can you do that for me?”
“Yes,” you whispered. It didn’t matter where you went or who you were with, he’d find a way to seep into your thoughts.
He moaned, his nose moving along your neck before he stopped rubbing you. “That’s my girl.”
You didn’t let go of the sink when he stepped away, your body slightly shaking as you came down from the high he built within. “And you’ll think of me?”
“I’m always thinking of you, Kotyonok,” he said, running a comb through his hair like he didn’t have a raging hard-on. “Always.”
You believed him. “Are you… going to take care of that?” you asked.
He glanced at his crotch with a smirk. “I probably should.” He leaned over and kissed your temple. “I’ll put some music on so you won’t have to hear me this time.”
“How considerate.”
“I’m a considerate guy,” he winked, leaving you alone in the bathroom.
“How do guys walk like that?” you muttered.
You waited until you heard the music start before you went through your routine. He’d likely moan your name at some point while he jerked off. At least he let you be so you could get ready and change into your dress. He said he wanted your trust, but he still found ways to touch you and wind you up. The tension was going to snap at some point and you wondered just how soon.
Looking at yourself in the mirror once you were ready, you tried to smile. You looked admittedly beautiful and felt confident for a fun day out. Did any of that have to do with Bucky?
You emerged after hiding in the bathroom long enough and stared as you saw Bucky in the bedroom. You half expected him to be in bed jerking off or doing something else, but he was dressed for the day. Head to toe in black with his hair slicked back, he looked impeccable as always. The expensive watch and pinky ring fit him well. Did he ever dress down? Why did he have to look so handsome?
“Wow,” he said when he caught you staring. “You look… so beautiful.”
“Thanks,” you said, your cheeks warm as he crossed the room toward you.
Your eyelids fluttered when he placed a gentle kiss on your lips and put something in your hand. When did he grab your phone? “Ray’s going to follow you from Addison’s place.”
It was nice that Ray would be the one to go today and not someone else. “Oh, okay,” you said, checking real quick to make sure you didn’t have any missed calls or messages. “You really know where Addison lives then?”
The subtle smirk made your throat go dry. “Let’s go.”
As he led you out, you wondered if Zemo also knew where any of your friends lived. He got to Mrs. Crandle, but didn’t harm her. Would he do anything else? Glancing at Bucky, the men almost seemed to be two sides of the same coin. The difference was that Bucky thought he loved you and he knew how much your friends meant to you.
A text from Addison came through and broke you from your thoughts. “We’ll be waiting outside!”
“On my way!” you sent back. “They’ll be waiting outside,” you told Bucky.
“The plus side of dropping you off is I get to meet your friends before Addison’s wedding,” Bucky smiled. “Do you think she’ll be the maid of honor for our wedding? I already know Steve will be the best man.”
Back to talking about your wedding day. “Most likely. And Dana and Gina as bridesmaids,” you said. They’d be so happy and would never know how everything came about.
“You know what would be fun? Cupcakes. All sorts of flavors so everyone has something they want, but we’ll have a small cake for the two of us,” he smiled more, reaching over to take your hand. “And we should have a two week honeymoon. Minimum.”
You almost choked on your breath. The man did say he wouldn’t be able to stop having you once he started. Was this the kind of love you deserved? Obsession? “That’s a long honeymoon.”
“It’s just a start,” he sighed happily. “Mr. and Mrs. Barnes. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it?”
You glanced at him. “Sounds perfect,” you whispered.
He brushed his thumb over your ring finger. “I just need to get the perfect ring on your finger,” he whispered.
You bit your lip and looked out the window. You could’ve brought him back to reality or pulled away, but you didn’t. You did, however, tense up the closer you got to Addison’s place. This was meant to be your fun day out, but it was going to be about Bucky because your friends would see him. They’d ask questions. They’d be excited and happy for you, too.
Once again there’d be no going back.
Bucky tensed up, too, when he parked. The girls were waiting on the sidewalk and you couldn't help but smile. It was good to see them. “Here we are,” he muttered, squeezing your hand. “And now that we’re here I don’t want you to get out.”
You took a breath. He couldn’t back out now. “I’ll think of you just like you said. How much you want and need me,” you promised him, giving his hand a squeeze this time. “And before you know it you’ll see me tonight.”
He took a breath, too. “I’ll count the minutes,” he said, getting out. You let out a sigh of relief when he went around and helped you out. He had your cardigan in hand, too. “And I have a surprise for you and your friends.”
“A surprise?” you asked.
“Hey!” you heard Addison call out. She waved happily when you made eye contact. “You’re here!”
“Hey,” you smiled, leaning into Bucky when he slipped his arm around you. “I’m here.”
Addison’s face lit up as you walked toward her with Bucky by your side. “Oh, my God. Is this him?!” she asked.
“Him?! Who is him?!” Dana questioned, sweeping an appreciative look over Bucky. She was in a happily committed relationship but appreciated a good-looking man when she saw one. “Who are you?”
“Yeah, who are you?” Gina added with a raised brow. Showing up with a guy wasn’t like you.
“Hi, I’m Bucky,” he smiled charmingly before he gazed at you. “Her boyfriend.”
Your face felt so hot you thought it would catch on fire. He spoke it into existence and made it happen. He weaved the threads of your lives to bring you to this point, to every point.
Addison did an excited little hop. “Yes! Yay! You’re her boyfriend!”
“Yeah, I’m her boyfriend. And you’re Addison, Dana, and Gina,” Bucky smiled, shaking each of their hands. Your blood froze. You never pointed out to him who was who, yet it was another reminder of just how much he knew. “It’s nice to meet you all.”
“AHH!” Addison’s excited shriek made you wince. “She mentioned you were coming to the wedding.”
“I am,” Bucky nodded.
Dana’s jaw dropped. “Hold on. A wedding date?! BOYFRIEND?! Holy fucking shit!”
“Why are we just now finding out you have a boyfriend?!” Gina chimed in.
Bucky held his head high. He was loving this, wasn't he? “Um, surprise?” you lamely spoke, taking in the sight of their shocked and thrilled expressions. They were so happy for you and it nearly made you cry.
Bucky chuckled again and held you tighter. “It’s kind of my fault she hasn’t said much about me. It’s still new and I’ve been selfishly monopolizing her time,” he said. They had no idea how true that statement was. “To be honest, I even begged her to hang out with me today because I love spending time with her, but she was really looking forward to hanging out with you ladies.”
The chorus of “aww’s” would’ve been sweet in any other setting, but he was putting them under his spell. Okay, but seriously, why are you here with us and not hanging out with your new man?” Dana asked, looking over Bucky again. “I’m on your side, Bucky. She could totally ditch us and we’d get it. Really.”
“I promised him I’d see him tonight,” you said quickly, resting a hand on Bucky’s chest. You didn’t want him to take the bait your friend was unknowingly giving him.
“Yes, you did. And I know you’ll have a blast today,” he said, kissing your temple. “Wait, you ladies weren’t planning on driving or taking a cab, were you?”
“We were going to get an uber or something once my cousin got here,” Addison said.
“Oh, no, no. You can’t take an uber to the winery. That’s your ride,” Bucky said, nodding across the street when a limo pulled up. “My treat.”
You gasped. So did your friends. “Oh, my god. Bucky?” When did he arrange that?
“Surprise,” he smiled, sneaking in a kiss. “And you don’t have to worry about paying for drinks or your meals today either. I’ll make sure it’s taken care of.”
“Holy shit. Are you loaded or something?” Dana blurted out.
“Dana!” Gina hissed. You almost laughed. Dana had no filter, but she meant well. “What she meant was ‘thank you’.”
“It’s fine. Believe it or not, I actually own The 107th, but I don’t really like to brag about it.” Bucky casually shrugged. You stared at him before sneaking another glance at your friends. They were intrigued and completely buying what a ‘sweet’ guy he was. “There is one small catch though, if you don’t mind.”
Addison raised an eyebrow. “What’s the catch?”
“Kotyonok, can you hand her your phone so she can get a photo of us?” he asked, pulling you closer against him and curling his lips in a small smile. “That’s the catch.”
“Oh, my god. He has a sexy nickname for her and everything,” Dana loudly whispered as you handed your phone over.
“A free limo ride with paid food and drinks if we take a photo of you two together? That’s not a catch at all. That’s so sweet!” Addison held the phone up as you tried to put on your best smile. Like it was a normal love story. “One, two, three!”
You stood still for a few seconds before you stole a glance at Bucky. He was looking at you, too, and leaned in for a tender kiss. It was a loving gesture, but you knew it to be possessive, too. Your friends weren’t a threat to your relationship, but Bucky would have all of your attention if he had his way.
“He’s totally enamored,” Dana whispered again.
“I think they can hear you,” Gina whispered back.
“Okay, you two are so photogenic,” Addison swore, handing your phone back. Your breath caught as you swiped through the photos. You two looked like you were in love. How did the camera not catch any of your fear or uncertainty?
Your friends didn’t see it either. All they saw was a happy new couple. Maybe it was better that way.
“I’m not the photogenic one. She is,” Bucky smiled, giving you one more kiss. “Do you mind sending me those, please? Maybe I can frame one of them.”
You bit the inside of your cheek at the additional chorus of “aww’s”. “Sure.” You sent them immediately so he wouldn’t hound you for them later.
Bucky checked his phone when it went off. “Perfect,” he whispered. You thought your friends were going to swoon. “You’ll have to let me know how the winery is. I may have to do an event there in the future.”
Addison smiled and looked between the two of you. “Well, you could check the place out yourself if you want.”
Your heart plummeted and your best friend missed the pleading look in your eyes. “I don’t think-”
“Oh, I couldn’t do that. It’s your day out and me being there makes it feel like I’m crashing the party or keeping tabs on my girl,” Bucky said, rubbing your side.
Your mouth fell open. Were you in the twilight zone? All he ever did was keep tabs on you.
Glancing at the limo, you spotted Ray’s vehicle parked behind it. He couldn’t exactly get out and introduce himself without drawing suspicion because what excuse would he have to be there that your friends would buy? But he did say he could avoid being seen, and you had a feeling he’d still manage to keep a close eye on you today.
“Well, you know we’re going to spend the whole limo ride over hounding her about this new chapter of her love life,” Gina teased.
“I have no doubt,” Bucky winked. “I just hope I’ve made a good impression because she means the world to me and I know she values your opinions.”
“As long as you treat her well. Otherwise, we’ll have to get rid of you.” Addison gave him a hard stare before she smiled. “But I think it’s safe to say you’ve passed the first impression test with flying colors.”
You deflated a bit. That was what you were afraid of. It was better that way. It meant they were safe from Bucky’s wrath.
“I’ll treat her like a queen,” Bucky promised. Whether you wanted it or not. “My girl deserves nothing less than that.”
“You two really are a good looking couple,” Dana noted, wiggling her eyebrows. “I’ll bet the photographer snags some photos of you two at the wedding because how could they not?”
Bucky put a hand on his chest. “I’d love more photos of the two of us, but the focus should be on Addison and Brady since it’s their day.”
He knew all the right things to say.
“You’re too kind.” Addison smiled before her phone went off. Looking at the screen, she groaned. “Of course. My cousin’s just going to meet us there, so I guess we can go?”
“I’ll walk you over,” Bucky offered.
He dug his fingers in enough for you to feel it and you noted the stiffness in his stance as he walked you across the street. Sending you off with your friends was a lot for him, but he had to deal with it. With Ray close by he wouldn’t have to worry about your safety either.
“Thanks again for the limo, Bucky. That was really nice of you,” Addison said.
“No thanks necessary. Just have fun today and drink plenty of water if you do lots of sampling,” he said, pulling you against him before you could get into the limo with your friends. He looked so lost for a split second and immediately leaned into your touch when your hand rested on his cheek. “I love you, Kotyonok. Think of me,” he whispered.
You initiated a gentle kiss which he quickly deepened. It didn’t last long since he had to let you go, but it lingered for both of you. “I will, Bucky.”
You’d think of him after he helped you into the limo. He’d occupy your mind on the drive over. And you’d once again miss the other pair of eyes watching you as you tried to enjoy your day.

Let's hope the day is a fun one. Who is watching? What's Bucky going to do while you're gone? How excited will Thor be when he hears the big news? 😂 Love and thanks for reading! ❤️

"Then I guess you wanted it." he said just as playfully, wagging his head side to side. "Cause I just did it." He laughed again. "It's okay, I know how much you like being pinned by me." "Not all of it." he said not wanting to take all the credit. "But a lot of it was me. The wolves have a lot of connections to the gardens here, and the woods surrounding, this is our territory. Since I've been busy with Gaultier there were probably a few others who helped, maybe a fairy or two by design. Echo does love flowers and he knows a lot about them, so he usually picks the varieties for more special occasions, like when he wants them to really punch home to the symbolism of something. But he can't grow them himself so he has to have others do the work." "I just wonder if he's more upset about what it actually means, or that Echo might have been deceptive about something. Not that it should be so surprising, but Coyote does need to put a level of trust in him if he's allowing all of this to happen." Raphael commented. When she became confused he blinked at her for a moment to see if she was kidding and then threw back his head in an easy laugh. "I'm talking about Me, you dolt." he said playfully and nudged her in the shoulder. "And probably any fairy you want too."
"My guess is you're already worrying about it, and I don't want to put salt in the wound." but Sasuga was already answering her phone and Raphael's ears were perked up in an attempt to eavesdrop. "I'm fine, we're fine, everything is fine." he said the relief clear in his voice. "Are you still in the garden?" Raphael started climbing to his feet. "I can walk you back." he whispered.
Blood and Moonlight
Sasuga woke in what was at first an unfamiliar area but as she blinked fully awake she realized it was their closet that Coyote had decorated for them. She smiled and took a careful kiss from her mate who was still sound asleep next to her. It really had been an amazing night with the family and then with her husband. As she slipped from his arms, she took a moment to look at her reflection in the mirror, her fingers dancing over the fresh marks on her neck and hips. She couldn't have asked for anything more from the night and it was with some reluctance that she dressed. She picked out a pair of warm leggings and a short little skirt to pull over them with some knee high boots and a thick sweater. She slipped from the closet and moved to the bathroom to comb her hair and brush her teeth and get ready for the big day ahead. She gave a stretch and headed downstairs only to find a familiar face waiting for her. "Raphael..." she smiled and moved to greet him with a hug. "I see you are still alive." she smirked. "Want some tea? Coffee?"

His name is Chuck - LN4
+summary: what do you get a man that can literally get anything he wants at a moment's notice? why a puppy of course! +pairing: Lando Norris x Reader +warnings: mentions a pregnancy scare, mentions cheating (no cheating happens), semi-edited. a/n: this was supposed to be out months ago... oops. I do not give my permission to have my work reposted. I do not give my permission to have my work translated. If I'm notified that you've stolen my work or claim it as your own, you'll be asked to take it down before I'll report you. End of discussion.
Tumblr media
What do you get someone that can afford to get anything their heart desires? It seemed like nothing that came to mind was good enough. She could get him the same thing she did the first year they were together for his birthday, which was a brand new, muted orange, lace lingerie set. But repeat birthday gifts were tacky in her opinion. And it's not like she couldn't get him another one of those boudoir books because the last time she did, it led to a pregnancy scare.
Whenever his birthday did come around, they'd most likely wouldn't even be in Monaco, much less in England. It's sometimes hard to plan things around his racing schedule but she wouldn't have it any other way.
"What are you watching?"
Jumping, placing a hand over her chest, "Jesus Christ, Lando! What is wrong with you!"
Lando laughed as he walked around the couch and sat next to her, noticing she was watching the most recent video Mclaren posted of him playing with puppies. Y/n saw the corners of Lando's mouth turn upwards into a smile. It was at this moment she knew what she was going to get Lando for his birthday. Only problem was where she was going to get it and where she was going to keep it until his birthday.
"I had a lot of fun playing with those puppies," he paused. "It makes me wish we weren't so busy traveling to and from countries for races, you know?"
"I can rearrange and clear some things from my schedule so I could be with the dog at all times."
"There's no need to do that, love."
Y/n saw a flash of sadness in Lando's eyes before he rested his head on her shoulder. Despite him saying she didn't need to move things around; she wanted to because that's what you do when you love someone. So, when Lando went off to go stream with Max, she texted Alex.
y/n -> albonooo
how much do you love me?
albonooo -> y/n
what did you do?
y/n -> albonooo
it's not about what I did, but what I'm about to do.
I need a huge favor.
albonooo -> y/n
I feel like I'm about to regret hearing you out but carry on.
y/n -> albonooo
Lando's birthday is coming up and everyone knows that Lando is a hard man to shop for. Mclaren recently did a video playing with puppies and I wanted to get him a puppy for his birthday.
albonooo -> y/n
okay, so what does this have to do with me?
y/n -> albonooo
I'm glad you asked!
When I get the puppy, I need somewhere to put them until his actual birthday.
albonooo -> y/n
Why me though?
y/n -> albonooo
if you and Lily got another animal no one would question it. In case you forgot, you guys practically have a zoo.
albonooo -> y/n
fair.
Now that she had a place to put the puppy once she got it, the next step was to talk to someone over at Battersea. The first phone call she made, no one answered. No one answering wasn't that big of a deal since they were probably busy, and she'd just call back later. When she called back hours later, the woman she spoke to was less than helpful. In fact, she wasn't really directing her in the direction she wanted to go, and the frustration was growing by the minute. Her fingers rubbed her temple, wondering if getting Lando a puppy for his birthday was a good idea.
And the search for a puppy didn't get any better as the weeks went by. Every time she thought she had found the perfect puppy, something would happen, and she'd be back at square one. But just as she was ready to give up and throw the towel in, she had gotten a call from her aunt saying a friend of hers' dog had puppies five weeks ago and could come and pick one out.
There's just one issue.
This person was in England and she's in Monaco.
When she told Lando she wasn't able to attend the Brazilian GP because of a business meeting back in England, he had reassured her it was fine, but she could tell from his eyes he was a little upset. Seeing that look in his eyes made her feel guilty for lying to him since she's never lied to him about anything in their relationship. She had to remind herself that it's a gift for this birthday and it'll be one that he'll never forget.
Arriving in England, the drive to her aunt's friend's house was long since they lived pretty far out, but she didn't mind as she watched the landscape change from the bustling city where houses were stacked on top of each other to the wide-open meadows of the quiet English countryside.
Soon, the uber was turning onto the long rocky driveway leading up to a large stone home covered ivy. Standing outside was a man who she assumed to be her aunt's friend.
The man held his hand out for her to shake. "You must be y/n! My name is Richard."
"That's me," she smiled. Richard led them in the house and into the sunroom where the sound of puppies playing warmed her heart. "Oh, my goodness! They're all so cute!"
Richard stood off to the side, "If have you any questions, don't hesitate to ask."
"What breed of dog are they?" she asked, sitting down on the floor. The puppies surrounded her until she threw a ball, but there was one that didn't move from her side.
"Jack Russell Terrier." Richard smiled when the one dog that didn't move from her side crawled into her lap and fell asleep. "Seems like you've been chosen."
"Seems like it."
A warm fuzzy feeling washed over her body as she gently scratched behind the sleeping puppy. In her heart she just knew this was the dog for Lando. Pulling an orange collar from her pocket, she fastened it around his neck, making sure it wasn't too tight.
"You got a name picked out?" Richard said, pushing off the door frame, gesturing to her to follow him.
"No. I'll let my boyfriend pick a name since it's going to be his birthday present."
"A puppy is quite the birthday gift."
"Yeah, but when Lando did that video with those puppies, I could see that look of longing for a puppy, but with our schedules it was not practical for us to get a puppy. Now that things have settled a bit, I want to get him the puppy I know he wants."
Richard reached into a drawer and handed her a manila envelope. "Everything you need is in there."
"Thanks again for this. I was beginning to think I wasn't going to find a puppy in time."
"It's not a problem, y/n." Richard came from around the desk, "Let me walk you out."
The two quietly talked about how the season was going as they walked to the front of the house, but the feeling of anxiety was there. And that anxiety feeling was still there when she knocked on the door of Alex's apartment to drop the puppy and supplies off.
"Alex, please tell me I'm not crazy for getting Lando a puppy for his birthday."
Alex, who gently scratched behind the puppy's ear, "Oh! You're for sure crazy-"
From further in the apartment, Lily shouted, "Ignore him, y/n. I think it's cute you got Lando a dog for his birthday."
Alex watched as the woman shifted her weight from left to right, mumbling under her breath and waving her arms around frantically. "Y/n, listen. Lando has been wanting a puppy for the longest time, so this is a good gift."
"You think so?"
"Yes! Now head home before he finds out you've been here."
The reassurance from Alex made the anxiety she was feeling fall off her shoulders. And as she walked down the hall towards the elevator, she crossed her fingers' hoping Alex was right because at this point, there was no going back.
One of the hardest things she's ever done was keep this big of a secret from Lando. There were a few times were she nearly slipped but thankfully caught herself. But Lando clocked her nervousness and made a mental note of her odd behavior. It wasn't like y/n to act this way, so did something happen? Did she cheat and was hiding it from him?
As it got closer to his birthday, she got more fidgety, which again was not like her. Y/n wouldn't cheat on him, would she? No. She wouldn't. He knows her better than herself. Maybe it was something else, and his mind was just making things up.
Lando woke the morning of his birthday and instinctively reached over to the other side of the bed and noticed you weren't there. Instead, was a note.
If you wake up and I'm not there, I only went to pick up your birthday present from Alex. This is around the time you say, 'she didn't have to get me anything,' but I did. I wanted to. I'll be home shortly.
Love, y/n.
He laid there wondering what y/n got him that she had to go pick up from Alex. It had to have been something big that she couldn't have just kept at their place. But then again, if she did keep it at their place, he probably would've found it and ruined the surprise.
"Listen, when I left this morning daddy was still sleeping, so we got to be quiet."
daddy? what?
The door to their shared bedroom slowly opened and the head of his girlfriend peaked from around the corner to check to see if he was still sleeping and when he wasn't, the door quickly closed.
Lando tossed the covers back, walking over to the door. There stood y/n, but his eyes instantly went to the puppy in her arms. "Uh... who's dog is that?"
"You weren't supposed to be awake, but he's yours."
"Mine? What do you mean?"
"Remember when I said I had a business meeting back in England and couldn't go to the Brazilian gp? I did go back to England, but it wasn't for a business meeting. It was to go get this little fella."
"You got me a dog for my birthday?"
"Yeah," she nodded her head, handing the puppy over to Lando. "I could tell you wanted one when you did that video with puppies at MTC, so I went above and beyond to get you a puppy."
"Does he have a name?"
"I've been calling him Chuck because an actor from a tv show I watched as a kid and their name was Chuck Norris."
"Chuck. His name is Chuck."

Damians 12th birthday is coming up and Dick knows just what to get his stabby baby bat. Damian has been obsessed with Purple Back Gorillas for months, first because he learnt that the two last known members of the species were male thus dooming the species and then his interest exploded because it was discovered that one of the last gorillas was actually female. Dick was not the only member of the family to have to listen to Damians very, very long lectures about the gorillas.
Dick had not only organized a party at the elmerton zoo where the two gorillas were being held, but he got in contact with the teen who Damian had actually complimented for discovering the female gorilla was actually female.
Danny wasnt sure why dick grayson was offering him an obscene amount of money to come to a kids birthday party but he wasnt about to say no. The guy had made it seem so easy, show up and hang out for an hour or two to talk to the kid about Delilah and her upcoming baby. He had even paid half up front, giving him more cash than he had ever seen in his life. Even Sam had been impressed.
So on the day of the party he flew over to the Elmerton Zoo and met Damian Wayne.
Five minutes in, and Danny knew Dick was underpaying him. The kid couldn't stop sneering if his life depended on it. He was snooty, snobby, snotty, you name it. Danny was questioned on everything to do with Delilah, and nothing he said met the rich kid's annoying standards. Danny was very tempted to literally ghost the brat.
At least until Damian literally judo flipped a guy who had attempted to pick pocket him.
Danny: you know how to fight?
Damian: Tcht, i have trained since i could walk.
Danny, who has only been fighting for a few months and would sort of like to stop getting his ass handed to him has an idea.
Danny: look, i have a deal for you.
Damian: What could you possibly offer me?
Danny: i can teach you the sign language delilah and her mate use. If you learn it fast enough i can introduce you to her and help you gain her trust. Maybe even in time to hold her baby when its born.
Damian, very very tempted: and how much money would you require for these lessons?
Danny: no money. I want to be able to do that. Teach me to fight and i'll teach you the ways of the purple back gorilla.
Damian: i will not be a gentle teacher. If you wish to learn i will expect perfection.
Danny: thats fine. Do we have a deal, Wayne?
Damian: we have a deal, Fenton.
For the next several months, Danny sees Damian every other saturday for a few hours. Damian was a brutal tutor in martial arts, insisting that danny train during his free time. Danny improves in his ghost fighting in leaps and bounds. In return Danny introduces Damian to Delilah and the teaches the guy how to talk to her.
Danny learns to sort of like Damian, even if he was still snobby. They're almost, but not quite, friends.
Its all going great until there is a ghost invasion in gotham and Danny has to leave Amity to save the day. He runs into Robin and helps him fight off some ghosts. Upon the both of them seeing each others suspiciously familiar fighting styles there is only one reasonable reaction:

POKÉMON X THE OUTSIDERS AU
info under images lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
if anyone reposts these like the cowboy or scientist au I’m deleting my whole account watch your bakc
I’m gonna preface this by saying I haven’t played or even really indulged in Pokémon for like… 7 years so forgive me if any of this is off or doesn’t make sense…
ANYWAY!!
Original gang is just the Curtis brothers. Ponyboy, after years of putting it off to put time into school, decides he’s finally ready to try being a Pokémon trainer (he’s a bit of a late bloomer, starting at 14 instead of ten…yikes). Usually, their father would’ve helped him on his journey….but he’s, dead, so.
Darry agrees to help him, eventually Soda gets dragged along too because he’s worried Pony and Darry fighting 24/7 will ruin the experience for Ponyboy. And, Soda, being a Pokémon ranger, has a lot more knowledge than even Darry about how to safely go about this.
First they come across Steve. Soda and him are already besties, of course. And they have kinda a rivalry going on where they are constantly tryin to one-up each other (all in good faith lmao). It’s not until Steve starts talking about how he started with Pokémon that Darry realizes just how different it was than when he was starting out. Steve agrees to come along, mainly saying he thinks Pony’s gonna get himself killed cus’ he SUCKS!!
After all the yada yada and defeating his first gym leader, Pony finds a dead Radicate and REFUSES to move on until they give the poor creature a proper burial. Since they’re already relatively close, Darry redirects the group to Lavender Town.
While inside Pokémon tower, they come across a decrepit, old, decaying black-belt class trainer (Mr.Miyagi ((yeah I put him in here, what are you gonna do about it?)),sorry for all the mean adjectives) who of course starts being an old man and going on and on about the boy he fosters there and how weird he’s acting lately (Darry refuses to interrupt because he RESPECTS HIS ELDERS!!!).
Mr.Miyagi admits that not being around people his age has probably messed with his development, practically calling the boy a hermit, and asks the guys to bring him along in exchange for a very strong Gengar (for Pony, ofc). Darry, upon hearing that the boy is a strong fighter and MUCH quieter then the rest of the freaks he’s dealing with, agrees.
They go from floor to floor looking for him, eventually finding a cloaked figure on some fuckass floor idk. It takes a minute but they’re like, damn, this hoe possessed! And they battle him, he’s hard to beat but they do it eventually, yada yada. Johnny then takes the hood off, apologizes profusely, and explains that he’s a channeler but not really good at his job yet. (also imagine him with the most fuckass stutter, like Shaky from rdr)
The guys inform him about their promise to Mr.Miyagi, Johnny’s upset for t-minus two minutes before he’s just like “whatever okay” and joins them. (Quickly becomes the favorite, ofc, because he can actually shut his damn mouth).
They move on to the next gym, yk how it goes…but yeah they come across a traveling circus. And you’ll NEVER GUESS WHO IS A CLOWN!!
So anyway, Clown-bit, we love him. They come across him, agree to fight so he’ll give them some food and pokeballs, and Pony beats his ASS.
They don’t really invite Two-Bit along (they think he’s annoying…who doesn’t?) but he just joins anyway. Imagine like constant clown puns. Also he and Johnny quickly take a liking to each other cus’ they’re both kinda outcasts of the group (Johnny’s known the guys for like, a week…and Two-bit Just showed up. Also, we need more Johnny and Two-Bit friend content so).
They keep going, Pony defeats a few more gym leaders, and takes notice that a lot of them seem to recognize someone on their team. When he askes, Johnny admits to being the son of one of the elite four. At first, Pony is thrilled by the info, until he pries a little more and realizes Johnny’s father was an abusive asshole and pretty much sent him away to Pokémon tower to force him into becoming a trainer. Yikes.
Anyway, on their journey they come across some UGLY blonde guy, like one of those biker trainer classes yk..? Anyway yeah it’s Dallas, shocker. He kinda just gets in their way and refuses to move until they ALL battle him. Obviously, they don’t wanna do that, a lot of work for some ugly freak (did I mention he’s ugly?).
They agree to let Ponyboy fight him, but he uh…loses. After a bit of back and forth Dallas agrees to let them go if they help him get to the Indigo Plateau in Kanto, so he can face off against the Elite Four there (his bike is old, cus yk…he’s poor.)
Darry at this point has an entire league of teenagers following him around, so he’s like what’s one more? And boom they move on.
I don’t have much planned out from here (this was all pulled from my ass anyway). Maybe the Shepards can be like…the Team Rocket of this AU?? And Soc’s are the gym leaders.
Also, Yeah Cherry and Marcia are both Kanto elite four cus I SAID SO!!! And uh…Johnny and Cherry are dating because it’s MY AU AND I DO WHAT I WANT!!!! She’s the breadwinner and that’s okay, we love her for it <3
twobit prolly falls in love with Marcia when he sees her but idk if she’d reciprocate with an actual clown. Mayeb Randy lowered her standards???
anyway. That is all. Might flesh this out more if the obsession grows, or it’ll die in a week like the Crazy Scientist stuff. Oh well!
EXPLANATION OF DESIGNS/MORE INFO—
Ponyboy
CLASS: Youngster
Ngl his design took very little time…..oops
his cap hides a really bad dye job, and he refuses to take it off
He chose squirtle as his starter, idrk why but squirtle just suits him. Maybe cus he almost drowned!!
Would’ve fought to the DEATH if he didn’t get squirtle. This boy knows what he wants
He has a little pokeball necklace that his mom got him as a joke, will kill someone for it
He deffo has a really nerdy messenger bag that he keeps all of his stuff in
He’s scared of his own Beedrill
He does NOT need those glasses. But he likes them becuase he thinks they make him look more professional (everyone can tell they’re blue light glasses)
Sodapop
CLASS: Pokémon Ranger
LOVES his job and therefore is almost always seen in uniform
he loves electric/steel type Pokémon cus they reminds him of cars, so his hair is usually sticking up because of static electricity
has a whistle, but Darrel stole it and tossed it into the forest VERY early into the journey
yellow is his favorite color cus I said so
Raichu is his PRIZED Pokémon
He’s kinda like Snow White the Pokémon love him
His Flareon and Johnny’s Espeon are best friends
Darrel
CLASS: Veteran
Wanted to be a football player, but couldn’t because that wouldn’t keep the family afloat, that’s why his outfit has the numbers on it.
Lot of scars, some from football and some from his days as a trainer
His outfit used to have sleeves, but he found them annoying and just shopped them off one day
Always keeps the spare pokeballs on him
In highschool he had his hair grown out, but chopped it after their folks died because his father was always trying to get him to cut it
I don’t really have a backstory for his necklace, buts it fire okay
Treats his Pokémon VERY well, if there was a trainer rating website he would be top 5
Picks his Pokémon based on size and strength
Two-Bit
CLASS: CLOWN
Obviously he’s a clown so, that explains the outfit
NEVER seen without the makeup, even when it rains or he’s sleeping…that stuff is ON THERE
He has false lashes on his waterline, and yes they’re pink
He is incapable of being quiet because of all the bells
The hat doesn’t come off. if it did his hair under there would be hella matted
All of Two’s Pokémon are just as annoying as he is, he hides earplugs in his shoes for people (they never take them)
FATASS can and will eat anything in sight
Mr.Mime is his favorite of all his Pokémon….they ate both annoying together and everyone hates them for it
Johnny
CLASS: Channeler
the scar on his eye is from his father 😬 from when he figured out Miyagi wasn’t actually training him to be the next member of the Elite Four…. the eye is blue because of some psychic shit idk
His outfit is from Miyagi entirely, the sleeves used to be connected, but he found it too annoying to fight in those so he tore them (Miyagi was secretly VERY unsettled)
If you look really closely he has purple eyeliner
Johnny refuses to cut his hair, so it’s usually in a braid to be out of his way, he lets it down sometimes
He has the little flower charm connected to his belt…what a cutie
His hood is actually up a LOT, most of the time his face is obscured
There’s flames on his sleeve….wonder why (not the reason you think okay. His father was a fire type trainer…JOHNNY LIVES IN THIS AU OKAY.)
also the metal things around his arm are like…incredibly heavy. Mr.Miyagi put them in originally so he could build muscle while doing everyday things, but Johnny insists on keeping the on forever.
Loves all of his Pokémon equally, and they love him back. Always has atleast one out of their Pokeball so he doesn’t get lonely….my baby
He doesn’t even like the color purple that much it’s just kinda his thing now
Pokémon FLOCK to this man
Dallas
CLASS: Biker
Tore the sleeves off of his jacket as well…they really like doing that
YELLOW teeth and GREASY hair he does not take care of himself
Really likes dog-looking Pokémon
Has an empty slot because one of his Pokémon just DIED LMAO (idk which one. Oh well)
Has rips in his jeans, does not plan on fixing it
Hand-carved his belt buckle. The ‘win’ in Winston is underlined. Ignore the fact that this idiot keeps fucking losing
The bandages are protecting nothing. He thinks it makes him look cool
Pokémon are revolted by him. Like, his own literally hate him.
Steve
Class: Hooligan
kind of an ass, but he looks cool
any cutscene of him he’s making sure his hair is still spiked trust
loves steel type Pokémon because…cars
his favorite color is green, making any green Pokémon his all time favorite
for being a little shit, he treats his Pokémon rather well
has studs ALL over his back, once leaned back on Soda and has never heard the end of the pain he caused
he has a tongue piercing….so….
when the gang is lacking resources, he and Dallas are the first to steal

1. There are about 50! It’s been more stable recently, but it has been rising over time.
2. She/they! We’re almost all girls, or at the very least are comfortable with those pronouns.
3. We are the Splat-stem! We chose this name as we Splatoon introject heavy system, and the portmanteau of Splatoon and system just sounded good to us.
4. Well, there’s Splatoon ofc, most of us really like public transport, and drawing is fast becoming one of our big things too.
5. Aside from source stuff, a lot of 80s, but our favourite artist has to be Depeche Mode! One of our alters is somewhat related to them even.
6. Most of us are around 19/20.
7. It’s just a human girl called Lily, she basically has ended up being a bit of a mix of what the main fronters are like, she has blue hair and shit, and is basically your average transfem.
8. A lot of us do! Woomy (myself) and Eight are both hosts, Eight is somewhat of a protector too, as are Naos and Four. Frye and 003 are persecutors of sorts.
9. We’ve known since September 2022, after I turned up! It was very randomly the day the queen got buried which is still something we joke about with friends pfft.
10. Honestly there were signs we kept ignoring, but when the rest of us thought we were just 1 cis guy, it became obvious that wasn’t the case when suddenly a squid girl turned up (me!). It helped that we knew a lot of systems by then, so we understood it a bit better, over time more of us adopted their own identities.
11. Honestly it’s hard to say, we don’t really notice when it happens usually, mostly we can tell after the fact that we must have switched for whatever reason. Occasionally the switch hits harder and dissociates us more heavily.
12. Either, really, sometimes we try and switch to whoever might want to front at that time, other times people just get pulled to front by a trigger, and others it just, happens.
13. Our favourite part is that there’s always others there for you, and it just makes us feel very comfortable knowing we’re never alone!
14. Mostly the dissociation when it hits us, and the fact memory can often be absolute shit.
15. Most of us quite a bit! Most of us are inklings or octolings, so we don’t have ‘hair’ in the same way humans do, a few of our features like eyes and ears look different too, and of course you can become a squid/octopus to swim in ink.
16. *Cracks knuckles* oh, just 90% of the system in some way or another gdjfjfjfnfbf. I’ll spare everyone reading the entire lore of Splatoon, but I’ll say that I’m basically the original Agent 3, and Eight is, well, Agent 8.
17. Eh? It’s fairly abstract, but yes kinda? It’s not as vivid as other systems say theirs are, but there’s definitely an inner world.
18. Yep! Frye is the number 1 food enjoyer ever, and he is often a bit particular about it. She feels very strongly and the things she doesn’t like (which, there aren’t many of) they won’t touch, but anything they like is automatically consumed pffft. The rest of us really don’t care as much. Likewise, Naos and Eight really relish in the cold.
19. Yeah! Me and Eight are probably the best examples of the most basic accents in the system, generally sounding fairly basic and Southern English, although I sound a little more South Western. Frye sounds more like they’re from London, whilst Marina oddly has a bit of a French twinge, then Pearl sometimes sounds a bit American. Fyra is randomly a bit Northern English too which keeps taking everyone by surprise. Naos is a bit more flat and robotic.
20. Full of cephalopods.
21. Yes, almost all of us! Most of us are some form of m-spec, although there’s a few exceptions (Four is aroace, Marina is lesbian, and Hydra is actually straight). A few of us are trans girls insys too (like myself), whilst others are cis. Meanwhile Frye is the resident bigender person. Also most of us are polyam.
22. A few yeah! Although a couple know so as a result of online friendships (we met another system at our uni because we knew one of their friends online beforehand).
23. There’s almost always one of the more chaotic alters sat around just waiting to make the silliest possible comments. For example, in the middle of a recent exam, Frye just went ‘SOCIETY HAS LOST CARDIFF’ for no reason at all and we nearly lost it jfjfjjdjvjvd.
24. You don’t need to fit anyone’s expectations of what a system is! Don’t feel invalid just because you aren’t exactly like another system. Also, be a bit kinder to other headmates in your system, they’re just getting used to this, and in time things will be much calmer.
25. Introjects aren’t just silly little characters you can play with like you’re in a game. A couple singlets have been really weird with us, and thinking we’re like some NPCs they can mess around with for funsies. We’re literally just people that happen to hold identities from Splatoon.
Plural Ask Game
We figured we’d try making an ask game! This is for anyone who’s a system–regardless of origin–to use. Remember that you’re not obligated to answer any of these if any are too personal!
How many members are in your system, and does this number change frequently?
What are your collective pronouns, if you have any?
What’s your system name if you have one, and how did you choose it?
Are there any activities your system members like to do together? Collective hobbies? Talk about those!
What sort of music do people in your system like?
What’s the average age of your systemmates?
If you have a singletsona, what is it? Explain a bit about them!
Does anyone in your system have roles? If so, what roles?
How long have you been a system and/or known of your system?
How did you discover your system? What was the process?
What does switching feel like to you, if you switch at all?
Are your switches voluntary, involuntary or a mix? How often do you do it, if at all?
What’s your favourite part of being a system?
What’s your least favourite part of being a system, if you’re comfortable sharing?
Are your headmates generally different from the physical body? How do they differ from it?
Do you have any fictives/factives/etc? Tell us a little about them!
Does your system have a headspace? Are there multiple of them? What are they like?
Are there differences between systemmates surrounding sensory things? (For example, one person likes the taste of one food and another doesn’t.)
Does anyone have any different accents, or speak any different languages?
How would you describe your system in 3 words or less?
Do you have any LGBT+ headmates? What do they identify as?
Does anyone outside of the internet know you’re a system?
Do you have any cool/funny stories from inside the headspace that you’d like to share?
What’s some advice you’d give to yourself when you were first discovering your system?
What is something you wish singlets knew about plurality?

‘ drown to impress ’ feat. LARA RAJ
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
─── ﹙🪼﹚ Lara has never even thought about swimming, until she found out you were on the swimming team. Going from just barely waking up to be present in her first period to being up at 6am everyday was a struggle, especially since her body wasn’t used to it. The worst part? She didn’t even know how to swim.
PAIRING(s): lara raj x swimmer!reader, highschool au
WARNING(s): fluff, nearly drowning, mentions of gurgling/spitting, reader does cpr as some point, skin tone mention (nothing derogatory)
A/N: never join a swimming team TRUST me. it’s horrid. also this is lowkey really bad im sorry 💔
Tumblr media
None of Lara’s friends understood. I mean why would she suddenly show interest in swimming of all things? Lara Raj was a woman of many talents, but swimming was not one.
None of them even recall ever seeing her actually swim— staying on the shore at the beach does not count. How did the infamous Lara Raj find herself nearly drowning?
Well it’s simple really. One day as she was walking to class she saw this girl— not just any though. Her beauty was enough to turn heads, or at least in Lara’s mind, because according to her friend, the girl was a ‘two out of ten’. Although Lara’s sure she’s higher, that's beside the point.
Lara had her friend— Daniela do a little digging, it turned out that said girl was on a swim team! Which is how Lara found herself in this position, her ears ringing as she found her vision darkening.
The one familiar thing she sees is you. Was she dying? Or worse, dead already? Maybe diving head first on the first day was something not everyone could achieve, the one thing she did achieve was learning she couldn’t swim though!
You on the other hand were panicking, hastily you pulled her out of the water, shaking her— even if you knew it wouldn’t really help much if she had inhaled too much water. You kneeled next to her, placing your hands on her chest and pressed down a few times, until she gurgled up water. As she spit it out, you helped her turn her body upwards so that she wouldn’t choke on it more.
“Are you okay?” You frantically asked, even if Lara wanted to answer— she quite literally couldn’t. Lara wanted to shrivel up and die there as you continued to ask her questions. She just knew her friends would never let her live this up, especially the fact she could’ve died yet all she could think of was your hand rubbing her back.
Ever since that day you’ve personally made it your mission to teach her how to swim, because come on, who joins a swimming team without even knowing how to tread!
“Lara.. you’re doing it wrong, again.” you sighed, moving beside her and placing your hand on her back.
“you have to relax, or else you’ll never be able to float.” you said for the third time, holding her up on her back within the water. Undoubtedly Lara was gorgeous, but you could tell she wasn’t listening. It was little things she would forget, her towel, to be on time, it made you truly wonder why she was even on the team.
Lara on the other hand felt like she was on cloud nine, five days a week spending time alone with this gorgeous girl? Not only that, but was her coach. The problem arose when finals came. Lara genuinely thought swimming was for fun, not tournaments and all.
“you do know they wanna cut you right?” You told Lara, walking into the locker rooms.
“oh, uhm why?” She questioned, even if she knew the answer.
“Well, for one you can barely tread properly. Second, you're late a lot, not to mention the clothes instead of the swimsuit. Third, you're always distracted.” Oh. Was she that bad? Lara hadn’t noticed how much you’d taken note of her.
“I only joined because—” of you. The words sat on the tip of her tongue, yet she couldn’t bring herself to say them?
“I already know why, I saw your friend come up in my Facebook recommendations and assumed it was because of this.” You admitted, laughing a little at the last part— while you laughed, Lara's face burned, she was sure if she was a different tone you would’ve known.
The only words she could get out were an ‘I’m sorry’, she was beyond embarrassed, I mean hey, at least she could take something away from this she thought— don’t join a club you have absolutely no interest in!
“We should hang out sometime.” You said, looking back at her before grabbing your swimming bag,
“oh also, I left my number on a piece of paper in your bag.” You stated before leaving. Lara was beyond glad nobody was in the locker room with the way she nearly leaped to her bag, searching for the paper— her jaw dropping when she found it, you weren’t lying.

Tumblr media
life is messy. y/n's was actually very messy that's why she decided to move, leave her old life behind and change everything. how did she end up in a small town in the middle of texas? nobody knows, but she was there alone.
the first month was the hardest, she found a new job in a bakery, made a friend - her coworker, jessie but there was not really much to do, calm town, everyone knew each other, basically no privacy. after that first month y/n met bucky, a single father of two, a farmer and big enthusiast of chocolate cookies they were selling at the bakery. was he flirty? maybe. was he friendly? 100%.
it all started innocent.
"hi, i'm bucky, you new in town?"
"how do you like it here?"
"if you need any help feel free to reach out."
and y/n in fact did reach out, cause she needed help when her apartmet flooded. it was out of the blue the next day when bucky came to the bakery, but he was more than happy to help. that day y/n and bucky get to know each other a little bit more. she found out he has two daughters, annie (4 years old) and bea (6 years old), he owns one of the biggest farms in town and it's in his family since... forever, really. she was sure he is married, he was wearing a wedding ring, but that was just a habit - his wife died two years ago in an accident. the conversation was smooth, it was clear that the chemistry was there, but nobody made a move.
"all should be fine now." was what bucky said when he finished fixing y/n's plumbing problem. was she starring at him a bit when he was fixing her sink? yes.
"thank you, really, i had no idea what to do and i don't know that many people here... so i kind of had to ask my friendly neighbourhood customer for help." she chuckled and licked her lip a little bit.
"oh, it's nothing, actually i have a favor to ask, myself... it's okay if you feel like this is too much, but i have to help my friend out of town on the weekend, he has some problems with his animals and i can't leave girls alone, could you babysit? i can pay!"
"what? babysit? i- i never did that, but if your daughters are even half as kind as you, i bet they are angels, so yeah, i can do that, i'm not working over the weekend, you don't have to worry. and you don't have to pay me, it's favor for a favor."
was it a bit weird and a bit fast? for some people maybe, but both of them really felt like they could've trust each other. and that's how y/n became a babysitter for annie and bea. the girls were little angels, that was true. it became a thing that y/n was coming over to play with them and watch them, when bucky was working or when he was busy with whatever he needed to do. girls adored her. she baked cookies with them, they played outside together, she loved reading books with annie and bea and they loved to listen to them.
one night bucky came home really late, the girls were sleeping and y/n fell asleep on the couch too. closing the door woke her up and looked at bucky all sleepy.
"huh? you are home? i better pack my thin-"
"are you crazy? it's 3am, you are staying here, i will drive you home in the morning." he said it with a tone that left no place for arguing. she was a bit turned on by his voice, but no way she would ever tell bucky that. they were friends. only friends, with a weird chemistry, but still friends... but are you really friends when it's 3am and you are sitting on a couch with a man so much older, talking about life, drinking and being really and i mean really comfortable with each other?
that night went peaceful and quietly, in the morning bucky made breakfast for all three of the girls and when his kids were ready all four of them left his farm. first bucky and y/n dropped annie and bea at their preschool and then they made their way to y/n's house.
"you know, they adore you." bucky said while he way driving. y/n felt her cheeks getting a bit more pinkish. and she had no idea why, it was a compliment from his daughters, kind of, not from him. but at this point she knew she was falling for this man and there was nothing she could do about it.
✧✧✧
a few months passed and everything was going great for both bucky and y/n. they were meeting almost every weekend and more than one time during the work week. one day bucky invided her to a picnic at his farm, but... it was only two of them. the girls visited their grandma, and the truth was bucky wanted to spend some time alone with his... friend? his who? that was maybe a little bit more complicated than he wanted it to be. farmer was thinking about her all the time and he was ready to make things official. he wasn't in a relationship since his wife passed and that was over two years ago! he deserved to be happy.
when bucky asked y/n to be his girlfriend she was speachless, cause of course she wanted it, she wanted it bad. she wanted him bad, to be honest. soon she found out bucky wasn't always that sweet and caring man everyone thought he was. he was a very typical girl dad, he was making breakfast for his kids every morning, doing their hair, but he was also that type of man to pull your hair very hard when you were alone. and y/n loved it. every second of it.
their relationship was perfect, y/n loved waking up next to him almost every morning, she moved in really quickly. it wasn't even strange for the girl, they accepted it, after all annie and bea loved having y/n around.
one night y/n and bucky put the girls to bed earlier, because they planned a dinner. bucky cooked and prepared everything and all y/n had to do was to just look pretty when everything was ready.
"god, angel, you look stunning." was what bucky said when he saw y/n in her short, black dress. they ate their dinner, had some red wine and since it was warm summer they left home to sit outside. the moon looked marvelous and y/n looked even more beautiful in it's light.
it didn't took much for bucky to start kissing her. first her lips, then her neck, her exposed cleavage. y/n started breathing faster and then he dropped on his knees and rolled her dress up. first he was kissing y/n's thighs, then his lips were on her already wet panties. her noises were getting louder, then bucky took off her underwear. his lips were soft at first, teasing her, but when she buckled up her hips to him that was a sign he had no idea he was waiting for. bucky's tounge was making her more and more wet and she was only getting louder. her hands ended up in his long hair, pulling them hard when he added fingers to his ministrations.
"c'mon sweetie, you are making really cute noises, but you can be louder than that... girls are sleeping inside you can be as loud as you can." he hummed, his lips still so close to your aching pussy. it was hard being quiet with this man, he was making y/n feel like she was floating with his fingers and tounge alone. after her first orgasm they moved to their bedroom. they ended up naked a second after the door closed behind them. lips and hands were everywhere. their bodies so close, lots of moans and gasps. it was a perfect mix between soft love making and rough fucking and it made y/n lost her mind. at some point bucky covered her mouth.
"shh... we are not outside anymore, girls are sleeping next door, you have to be quiet now, doll." he whispered into her ear as he bit it. he was moving inside her with a steady rythm. her hands were on his back, nails in his skin leaving marks, it wasn't long before y/n finished again. when bucky wanted to move she wrapped her legs around him.
"no, please, i want to feel you..." she purred in the croock of his neck. he hapilly obliged. and that's how they both fell asleep. bodies tangled together, their breaths steady and calm and the whole life ahead of them. maybe with more than just two kids in the future...

My Sweet Temptation
|Masterlist| |The Only Temptation| Pairings: Alastor x Reader Tags/ Warnings; f!Reader, Demon! Alastor. Heats! Ruts! Alastor and Ruts! dual POV, Handjob, oral (f! receiving), fingering, scent kink, p in v, knotting, antlers, tails, dry humping, pwp, cum eating, feels, Alastor just really loves his wife not even the sweet allure of a doe in heat can stop him from being the biggest simp ever. [TLDR: It's been a month since he last saw you. With Alastor finally starting his rut, can he still keep resisting the temptation that is you?] A/N: Wowwie! This was supposed to come out for my birthday, but hey! At least it's here. Special thanks to @ladyadrasteia666. This one is for you because I wasn't able to tag you last time, but you really helped me with all the smut parts. So, thank you. Minors DNI
The doe is talking to him like they are friends. She’s a resident at the hotel Alastor currently works and lives in, nothing more. It’s that current hotel that’s keeping him from his wife.
One whole month – that’s how long it’s been since Alastor felt any trace of you.
The doe smells sweet, in the same way that powdered sugar smells sweet, but her scent prickles his nose in such a harsh way that he wonders how long he could hold his breath for. Pouring actual powdered sugar down his nostrils would be less irritating.
The waves of scent are just too much that it’s positively disgusting. Alastor would have already killed the doe had it not been for Charlie.
The mind . . . it’s a very fickle thing.
Except when it comes to you, it seems – it’s very generous when it comes to you.
As the doe babbles with utter nonsense, Alastor’s mind wanders back to you. It shows him instructions on how he should trail his lips down the skin of your stomach, feeling the heat from all the sensitive nerves on his lips. Alastor thinks about holding you closer until he can feel every inch of your skin.
This mind of his, tells him how exactly Alastor would crawl inside you, fulfilling that never-ending desire to feel you, and only you.
As if summoned by his very thoughts, Alastor’s nose twitches with the scent of you.
Alastor still cannot describe what exactly the scent of you even smells like. It just seems to be the scent of laughter as acid rain pours down the street.
It also seems to be the s cent of a smile as dinner is eaten under a candle-light. It’s all of these things and none of these things at the same time. It’s not enough to capture the full essence of you.
All Alastor knows is that it’s you. He turns behind him, ignoring the doe, just in time to spot you rounding the corner.
The smile on your lips grows the moment your eyes land on him. Alastor knows when it does, because he watches your lips inch higher and higher as your pace quickens.
You tilt your head, looking straight behind him. Now what would cause your attention to shift from him?
Alastor gets his answer because he knows the exact moment your eyes land to the doe behind him, and he has to watch as that once bright smile quickly drops into a polite one.
The closer you walk, the stronger the scent becomes. All these sudden waves of you almost leaves him dumb. The only thing flashing through his brain are the images of how shy you would look when he traces a path up your legs, only using the very tip of his finger to inch them apart.
The doe’s ears flick a little as she smiles. “Are you a new resident?”
“I wish that were the case.” You reach a hand towards the doe. “I don’t think we’ve been properly introd—”
Alastor catches your wrist, pulling your hand away before he could fully understand what he’s done. All he knows is that he cannot have this thing leave its filthy traces on you.
He slides his hand up the skin of your wrist, catching your fingers in his hold, and presses a small kiss between them. It’s not his proudest moment, but Alastor makes sure the doe sees exactly what he’s doing. “My wife.”
Deciding he’s had enough, Alastor doesn’t wait for a response, and crashes you into him, pulling you into the shadows below with a laugh.
Alastor can feel the way your fingers tighten around him, pulling him closer as you travel within the shadows. He holds you closer, reveling in the feeling of holding you until he’s popped into the bedroom, and crashing you into the mattress with tangled limbs.
The scent is even stronger now that he’s buried his face straight into your neck. It’s pulling him deeper into his mind.
You run a hand through the back of his head, scratching the scalp with the tips of your claws. Those heavenly fingers of yours trail higher until you’re tracing the outline of his antlers, and circle around the tip.
The pressure you place relieves the itching. You trail even lower this time, massaging the base of his antlers. This sends radio waves straight down, and out of his skin.
Your hand retreats when static glitches around the air.
“Don’t stop,” Alastor says . . . practically begging . . . and pushes his erection straight against the plump of your thigh. “Keep going. Cher, keep going.”
He presses his antlers closer to you, opening his neck as your tongue swipes one, long trail up the skin. “Alastor,” you say, whispering his name straight into his ear. Soft breaths tickle his ears, causing them to twitch a little. “Alastor . . . Talk to me.”
Alastor trails a finger down your cheek, tracing the outline, moving lower until his fingers swipe through your lips. “Tell me why you’re here.”
“I received a phone call today,” you tell him, closing your eyes as you nibble on his fingers a little. “Apparently, you’ve been quite . . . disagreeable this past month. Someone finally had enough.”
Alastor watches you swirl your tongue around the tip, before taking it deeper into your mouth. The outline of his erection bulges against his pants, pitching a very, very obvious tent.
Alastor should send you away before his instincts take over. He knows this. It’s the rational thing to do, but rational isn’t what he would describe himself right now. Especially, when your fingers curl around the back of his hair, cranking his neck upwards.
Rut or no rut, it’s just nice to be underneath your fingers again.
“It’s the first time I’ve seen a doe in Hell,” you say, voice a bit softer than normal. The outline of your nose traces his neck, and the soft huffs of your breath warm his neck. “If . . . If you . . . I would understand.”
This annoys him more than it should.
Alastor presses his claw a little harder on the skin of your cheek, swiping down just to scratch at the surface. “How cruel of you, cher.” His eyes twitch, smile curling a little higher. “You would be so willing to let another bed me?”
“It’s biology.” Your fingers tighten around his hair, tugging on his head to look at you. “I would understand that.”
Alastor presses his lips against yours, nibbling on the bottom until your mouth gives way for his tongue. The taste of your mouth is even sweeter than how you smell.
It’s driving him . . . insane. Pure madness that’s sinking its claws into him, and drags him deeper into its clutches. The thing is . . .  Alastor doesn’t want it to let go.
Consume him until there’s nothing left but you.
“Who do you think I am? I made a vow, cher, and I made that vow to you.” Alastor traces your jaw with his lips, and each word brushes against your skin. “All this time I’ve had to stop myself from devouring you, and here I learn you’re allowing such ridiculous ideas to run through your head.”
“Me?”
It’s more than a bit offensive to hear the surprise in your voice.
Alastor captures your lips once more, pressing kiss after kiss after kiss. “Who else except you?”
The scent of your . . . everything . . . envelopes him, consuming him deeper into his mind. You tighten your arms around him, and there’s nothing Alastor can do except melt into you.
The tips of your fingers trace up his spine, and back through his hair. Just a minute – that’s all he needs. A minute to memorize the sweet taste of your mouth. A minute to memorize the warmth of your fingers. A minute to memorize the scent of your skin.
In a minute, Alastor will send you away one more. “I want to feel you.”
“I’m right here.” You laugh against his mouth, pressing one last kiss.
“It’s not enough,” Alastor tells you, tracing your lips with his finger. “I want to be inside you.”
“You can if you want.”
“I want to open you,” he says, sighing against your skin. “I want to crawl inside until I can feel every inch of you surrounding me until all I can feel is you, and only you.”
You push him off your chest, using your hip to flip him on his back.
Alastor’s head hits the headboard just as your legs swing around his torso, and you sink your core straight above his cock. The pressure you’re sending into his cock forces a small breath tumbling out his lips.
The base of your hips leans into his dick when you shift forward to steal a kiss from him. Alastor melts into the kiss, unraveling underneath you with a moan.
“Will you finally let me help?” You run a sharp claw down his shirt, scratching at the buttons keeping him clothed.
“You can’t —”
Ypi grip his antler, yanking him to face you. The noise that comes out of his mouth embarrasses him a little, but you’re licking your lips, and Alastor knows you like what you heard.
“Tell me to go and I will, but I want to hear it directly from your mouth.” You stare directly into his eyes with a look so intense that it’s almost . . . dangerous. It’s intoxicating. “No more dancing around, Alastor. If you want me to go, you’ll have to send me away.”
The grip on his antlers tightens, and the pressure you’re pushing into him feels so good that no words can escape his mouth.
“My buck,” you say, smiling down at him. The smile of yours . . . it causes him to buckle his hip straight up into your core. “Shall we descend together?”
There’s nothing really Alastor can do but nod.
Alastor watches as you reach for the first button of your blouse, eyes trapped as you slowly unbutton them to reveal nothing underneath. Oh . . . oh!
The friction from the cloth brushed against your nipple until it perked and hardened. He takes one end of your shirt, helping you pull your arms out. It’s all done with such agonizing slowness, but Alastor can feel your skin from the tips of his fingers.
You’re sitting on top of his erection, rocking your hips to keep it alive as you reach for his bowtie. Alastor allows you to unravel it from his neck, keeping silent when you throw it behind you. The buttons on his shirt don’t get treated with the same gentleness as your own. You rip his dress shirt apart, smiling as the buttons pop out to reveal the fluff on his chest.
Alastor decides that he’s lost.
You chase him into a kiss as all clothes melt into the shadows, leaving you bare on top of him. His erection springs free from its confines, allowing your bare cunt to press against it.
Alastor groans against your mouth as he feels your wetness from those already too sensitive nerves lining his dick.
Alastor leans away first, smiling up at you as he traces circles around your hips. He swipes his thumb across your cheek, pulling you closer to pepper your face with soft kisses. The giggle that comes out crinkles your eyes, and that . . . that is everything to him.
You press your face into his neck, collapsing straight into his arms. Alastor watches your head rise and fall with every breath he takes. You’re pulling on some of the strands of his fur, playing around with it.
There’s a very pressing matter, like the way his dick presses against your stomach, but there’s just something so comfortable about being pressed up against you.
“I think I understand what you mean about wanting to be inside me. I could stay like this with you forever” You laugh into his neck, and blow into his ear. “I love you, always.”
Alastor presses his mouth against yours for a kiss. If he were to descend into this madness, he would rather do it with you pulling him in. Actually, Alastor can only descend with you.
“I will always lose when it comes to you,” he says. “That’s why I need you to be very, very good for me, cher. If I become too much, you need to tell me.”
You press another kiss, laughing. “When are you never too much?”
“I’m serious.”
You slide off his hips to glance at his cock. His erection is so hard that it’s pointed straight up. You press on his tip, barely touching it, but Alastor’s thigh tightens as the jolt of stimulation rushes down at him.
You’re watching him now, looking at every reaction as you wrap your fingers around, testing him. Just a light squeeze, and Alastor pierces his claws around the bed sheets, arching his back to drive it into your tight hold. That felt good . . . more than a little good.
The pressure stays light, but you eventually tighten it around him when you pump your fist up and down and up and down until he comes right around your fist. Spurts of his seed trails down your fingers. It only took very little stimulation, but Alastor is already a moaning and cumming mess.
You keep pumping because his cock doesn’t get any softer. It’s still so painfully hard.
“That’s . . . interesting,” you say, licking your lips. “You’re still so hard, my dear. Is this because of the doe? Is her heat keeping you erect?”
“I haven’t . . . .” Alastor moans into the sheets when you quicken your pace. “Ah, mph . . . I . . . I haven’t . . . exactly stopped to check.”
Cruel! Oh, so very, cruel.
You’re torturing him, pumping your fists around his hard erection until he’s cumming from just your hand, spluttering out his seed in hot ropes.
It hits his nose all at once. A sweet scent that he’s more than familiar with. Through the blur of his tears, Alastor stares at you, traveling his eyes to see you rubbing your thighs together. The slick from your cunt spreads around its plumpness.
Alastor takes a deep inhale, memorizing the scent of your arousal.
It brings something out from deep within him. Alastor pulls you into a kiss, pushing you until your back hits the mattress. “This is your last chance.”
“Is that a threat?”
Alastor latches around your nipple, tracing the sensitive area with each lap of his tongue. His hands trace down the expanse of your stomach until he’s swirling his fingers around your folds. Alastor quickly finds your clit, rubbing circles around it until you’re moaning straight into his ears.
The sounds you’re making for him are greater than any music he could play.
You’re jolting and writhing underneath him, but you’re also pulling him closer, urging him on as you rock against his fingers. Alastor keeps going until he’s found that bundle of nerves. The more he presses on you, the more that sweet scent of your arousal fills his nose.
He wants . . . no . . . Alastor needs to know what your orgasm would smell like.
It’s the most helpful thing that doe would ever do for him. Bringing him to his rut earlier than planned meant that he would need to send you away much sooner. Her heat was heightening his senses, and that means he would be so heightened around you. Alastor wouldn’t refuse a gift such as this. It’s the least that doe could do for bothering him.
It doesn’t take long for you to unravel underneath him, and your essence flows around his fingers. It’s heaven. The scent of your orgasm is so heavenly sweet that Alastor cannot resist. If the scent is this good . . . Then . . . Then what would it taste like?
Alastor forgets to give you time to gather yourself, diving his mouth straight among your folds to stick his tongue out. He gives your cunt one, long swipe, tasting the mixture of your orgasm and your wetness. It’s sweeter than normal. Alastor keeps going, driven by the need to keep tasting you.
His fingers swirl around your entrance before pushing it straight inside. You moan when he does, tightening your legs around his legs.
Alastor laps his tongue around your clit before giving it a hard suck.  One hand trails up the expanse of your stomach until he reaches your nipple. Alastor traces around the sensitive bud, pinching it when you rock into his face.
His tongue can only go so far in this angle. It needs to go deeper. Alastor grabs your hips, lifting them higher into the air until you’re practically folded in half. You’re so close. He can taste it. Alastor doesn’t stop until you’re coming straight into his face.
It hits him like an ice-bucket. Gosh, what is he doing to you right now?
Alastor releases you, part of your orgasm dripping down his chin. Your chest heaves as you take time to breathe and calm down. Your legs are still draped around his shoulder with the muscles in your thigh twitching.
“We should stop here for today,” he says, pressing one last kiss on the inside of your thigh. “I don’t know what will happen if we go further.”
Alastor turns away from you before he could change his mind. It’s better this way. Safer.
Before he can get too far, you grab him by the tail.
The sudden jolt of pressure from the base of his back coaxes out such a pathetic whine from his throat. Alastor collapses into the bed, his ass sticking slightly up from where you’re grabbing his tail.
There’s an irritated look on your face. It takes a moment for you to find your voice. “What silly thoughts are running through your head now, cher?” you say, breast rising and falling with each breath you take. “Finish what you started.”
The pressure on his tail tightens. Alastor moans into the sheets, the hardest erection of his afterlife pressing against your thigh.
It’s an odd posture, but . . . well, Alastor loses control. His hips jerk against your thigh, and the feeling is so . . . It’s so . . . Alastor can’t stop sliding his cock against your thigh.
Pre-cum slides against your skin as Alastor humps against your thigh. That same pathetic whine tears through his throat when you massage the base of tail, running it through your fingers.
Alastor jerks his hips faster against you, chasing after his own release until he shoots cum on your thigh. He keeps rocking his cock against you, spreading his own release against your skin.
Despite all this, his cock still stands so erect.
You eventually release his tail, and you plop back into the bed, rubbing your thighs together. You spread your legs, circling a finger around your nipple before trailing down your stomach to insert a finger into your weeping cunt. Those fingers of yours try to massage your nerve, trying to find that sweet release that Alastor isn’t giving you.
“Alastor,” you mewl, frustration in your voice. “Alastor . . . Alastor.”
Alastor crawls back to you, hooking an arm around your hips to lift you enough to make room for himself underneath. Your back presses against his chest, face hidden into his neck.
Alastor spreads your legs even further, and inserts his own fingers along yours. The slow stretch of both your fingers has you gasping and moaning. He lays his hands on top of yours, and guides the motion of your fingers, massaging you in all the right ways.
Alastor takes your wrist when you cum, observing it with careful eyes before taking it into his mouth to lick it clean.
There’s an odd look on your face that tells him you’re nearing the cusps of overstimulation. That doesn’t stop him from flipping you over, and landing you to face him until you’re straddling his hips. His still very, very hard erection presses against you.
“One more. Give me one more,” he says, whispering against your lips. “I don’t know if I can stop myself. It needs to be you who sets the pace.”
You grip the base of his cock, swirling it around your folds before aligning yourself.
The arousal and cum dripping from your cunt lubricate him. Alastor’s head bangs into the headboard as you slowly sink into him. It coaxes a moan out his throat. The way your walls grip him . . . It’s so tight that he can barely think straight.
You start to rock your hips, keeping such a good rhythm. Alastor trails his hands around your hips then up your back. It’s all he can do to support your weight when you lean back, trying to reach that special bundle of nerves.
Alastor can’t keep his eyes off you. It’s all too beautiful. The way your breast bounces from the force of your rocking or the way your eyes are shut so tightly as you chase your own pleasure.
You’re consuming him . . . using him, and dragging him with you with every rock of your hip.
It’s hard to resist such a temptation. Alastor jerks his cock, meeting you halfway. The squelching of fluids fills the air. It’s such a sinful sound. Alastor can smell it – the mix of your scent combining with his. It fills his nose with such a heavenly scent that it forces him to come right then and there.
You tighten your grip on him when you feel his cum shoot straight into you, milking him for every drop. It makes him question who was actually currently in a rut.
With one last moan, you unravel above him and slow down the force of your hips.
The fog blurring his mind lifts a little now that he’s cummed inside you. Finally . . . finally. Oh, his darling wife. You were so good for him, taking everything he gave without a complaint. It brings hope into his chest.
Maybe, just maybe, he can spend his ruts with you. Alastor can finally hide you away for as long as it takes to end. It would just be him and you, and you and him.
You’re still seated inside him, breath rising and falling as you catch you—
“Alastor.” You whine straight into his chest, fingers tightening around his fur. The grip you have on him strengthens as you tremble within his arms. “Alastor . . . You tell me what is happening right now. What are you doing to me?”
Alastor places a hand on your shoulder, and . . . oh!  It’s getting tighter – you’re getting tighter.
His forehead collapses on your shoulder as he tries to breath through his nose. It’s too tight. You’re suddenly clamping down on him, walls getting tighter and tighter and tighter. It’s a little hard to think right now.
With your knees, you try to push yourself out of him. All it does is pull on his sensitive cock. Once more, you try to pull yourself out of him, but it’s simply not working. Every tug your make sends radio waves straight into him until static releases from his skin, and distorts the air around him.
Alastor pulls your flush around him, bringing his arms around you in a tight embrace. It’s all he could do to keep you still. “It’s . . . mph . . .It’s a knot. It should probably last for about an hour.”
“Probably?” you screech, and bite down on his shoulder with a moan when you shift above him. “There’s a possibility that you’ll be stuck inside me for more than an hour . . . “
“This has never happened before.”
Despite the absolute horror in your face, you swipe your tongue across your lips to lick it, and clench tighter around him. You collapse on his shoulder, face buried into his skin as you adjust to the stretching of your walls.
It takes a moment, but you eventually relax against him. Your eyes are dropping low despite being stuck and sweaty and covered with so much fluids he doesn’t even know which ones belong to who.
Alastor peppers your face with kisses, trying to keep you awake. “Don’t sleep,” he says, pressing his lips on your eyelids. “We don’t know what could happen to you if you do.”
You’re nodding off faster than he can wake you. Alastor isn’t even sure you processed what he said. “I’m tired, my sweet Al.”
“I know.” Alastor presses his lips on the tip of your nose. “But you can’t fall asleep, not yet.”
“No . . . I . . . miss you . . . and I’m tired of not being able to be with you. Tell me to stay . . . and I will do so,” you say, mumbling against the fur on his chest, giving it soft kisses. “Just . . . tell me to . . . stay.”
Alastor doesn’t have the heart to jostle you awake. So, he allows you to fall asleep, still completely buried inside him.
“How completely unfair of you, cher. How can I deny such a request when you have that look on your face.” Alastor whispers the words into your hair. “Stay here with me. I never should have allowed you to leave. You’re staying right where I can see you.”
Alastor will always lose when it comes to you – the only temptation in his world.

Hey hey! You’ve probably been asked this a lot but what made you want to start creating I Don’t Want To Be A Magical Girl?
Also I drew Akia in my style!
Tumblr media
Hope you’re having a great day btw ! :0)
First of all this is so rad!!! I loooove how you drew her
And what made me want to make I Don't Want to be a Magical Girl... It was a lot of things! (im assuming you mean the pilot in general)
The idea started off as a stupid doodle/character design practice. It wasn't gonna be anything more than that. I just felt like drawing a cute character with a gun really hahaha.
It's not a particularly original premise and I didn't plan to do anything more with her (as I do with most of my ocs/designs). But I actually did really like this one and couldn't help but think of little ideas and scenarios with her. Things started ramping up in my brain more when I realized I could attach a personal story and personal experiences to it to make it feel less cliche. That's when I started designing the other characters and coming up with bios and stuff
And then that was gonna be it again. I'd maybe do a comic here and there but there was a combination of things that happened that led to me jumping in and making a pilot.
First of all, I had a two month hiatus coming up so I had so much time. I also decided to step down from my directors position to be a board artist again in the coming season. So I really wanted to get some storyboarding practice in and what better way to do that than with this character I ended up really liking? I also don't have a portfolio and I'd been wanting to make something that's very me rather than my work from an existing show.
I'd offhandedly mentioned to my editor at disney that I wanted to do a board for these characters and she told me she'd help me make an animatic if it ever came to that. I couldn't pass up that opportunity! Now, since it was gonna be an animatic and I didn't want it to just be my scratch, I reached out to a bunch of VA friends to see if they'd be interested and they were!
Then other than having that support, just seeing my friends work on their own personal projects has been really inspiring and made me want to also do my own thing! Me and my friend group had just made a whole video game for our friend as a bday present which was so creatively fulfilling and made me realize like "oh my god we're artists we can literally just make stuff".
In the past I'd been so afraid to share my original work and for similar fears I've never wanted to showrun despite having the opportunity to pitch. While it's flattering to be wanted there was this pressure that felt like "oh you HAVE to make something, you're wasting your talent otherwise." (lol this is ironically the thesis of idwtbamg). And as a qpoc, i'd felt this extra layer of pressure to have to make something perfect on all fronts because if i fail in any capacity, i'm failing my community. it'd just be another another reason for people to say "ah queer media and work centering poc just can't succeed." then on the other end, i can only do and write what i know and feared that other people in my community wouldn't resonate with it or would feel like it's inaccurate to their own experiences.
but that's an exhausting way to feel and i've finally decided for myself that i'm just gonna tell stories that are authentic to me and it will reach whoever it needs to reach~ this realization was kind of the final step i needed to push myself to go all in. and now we're here!

Our unsaid truths - chapter 4

cw: cheating (Y/n didn’t), past relationship (trauma? if u can call it that), food mentioned, Yunho flirts a littleeeee
pairings: poly!atz x reader, Hongjoong x reader, Yunho x reader
You had to admit that it hurt, seeing him after all these years. Seeing him was a harsh reminder. All those memories you had prayed for your mind to forget all came rushing back to you in a second.
”You okay there?” Hongjoong waved in front of your distracted eyes. ”Oh, yeah sure!” you smiled brightly, trying your best to make it look natural.
You told Hongjoong a white lie about having to go get some makeup-remover, just so you could be by yourself for a bit, and also flee from the situation that you feared would occur.
You hadn’t seen Minjun ever since that night. That night when you finally confronted him about the cheating.
You could still envision it so vividly, his collection of lies and threats when you told him what you had seen, read, heard. Seeing him now, seeing that his life seemed so unaffected by it, that was what made it so hard.
You looked at the time - you didn’t want to make Hongjoong suspicious by being away for too long - and you figured you had to go back now.
For every step you took, you looked around, making sure you wouldn’t bump into him. You didn’t care about that asshole, so why did you feel such a strong need to prove yourself to him? Prove that you were fine? That what had happened hadn’t affected you either?
No sane person would be unaffected by a year-long relationship ending like that, so why did you crave him to have that idea of you?
”Do we have everything?” you asked Hongjoong after the longer-than-usual walk back to him. You prayed he didn’t notice when you still looked over your shoulder every now and then.
”Yeah, I think that’s it!” Hongjoong smiled before the two of you started making your way to the cashiers.
These little trips to the grocery store that you sometimes accompanied Hongjoong on were some of the few times you actually spend one-on-one time with him.
You knew how much he meant to Seonghwa, so therefore he meant a lot to you too, before you had even met him.
You helped Hongjoong load the groceries, hearing him mutter something about how expensive everything was nowadays. You laughed at his frown, finding his little annoyed face adorable.
Everything felt fine, until you suddenly felt a big hand meet your shoulder. Your eyes widened, and your smile dropped before you could even turn around, because you knew that touch.
You had seen him approach in the corner of your eye, but you just kept your back turned, praying that he wouldn’t see you.
”Y/n? Is that really you?” you heard his voice say. You took a deep breath before turning around.
”Minjun? Wow, it’s been a while hasn’t it?” you said with that smile that you often used at work, that customer-service smile that everyone seemed to fall for. Minjun wasn’t exactly smart, so you doubted that he’d notice.
”Wow, it really has!” he said before doing what made you instantly stiffen. You hated the familiarity in his grip as he wrapped his arms around you.
”And you are?” Hongjoong asked from behind you, having just loaded the last of the things.
Minjun finally backed off, raising his eyebrows at Hongjoong with a smile. ”Haven’t told your new boyfriend about me? Wow I’m hurt,” he said, grabbing his chest and frowning. You were about to try and laugh it off before making some excuse about being in a hurry or something, but Hongjoong beat you to it.
”Sorry, but would you mind leaving? There’s a line behind you, and I don’t think they appreciate you standing in their way.”
You could hear that Hongjoong was pissed off, but he - like you - also had a big, fake smile on his face. You endured the last seconds of Minjun’s company in discomfort as he unfortunately felt the need to hug you again, and make some snarky remark about your new boyfriend being ’cute and tiny’.
You and Hongjoong stayed silent as you walked to the car, and the second you heard the rumble of the engine, you took a deep breath. You knew you had to say something, give him an explanation, maybe just an excuse.
”Who’s he?” Hongjoong asked, tone stiff. He was clearly annoyed. ”He’s my ex.”
You looked down into your lap, your hands fidgeting with the hem of your knitted sweater. ”How are you feeling?” he asked, and you looked at him in confusion. You had expected him to interrogate you, ask you when you dated, for how long, how and why things ended, why you would ever date such a guy, and so on. But no. He just asked you how you felt.
”Well, honestly…” you started after a pause. ”Seeing him really hurt.”
Hongjoong hummed, encouraging you to continue. ”I thought I’d be over it, but honestly, it was worse than ever today.”
You watched the road as Hongjoong took a different route, the one that took 20 minutes, instead of just 10. ”Go on,” Hongjoong said as you paused.
You sighed. ”Please, I don’t want to burden you with my past relationships. I don’t even talk to Seonghwa about this—” you tried, but Hongjoong shook his head with determination. ”You won’t burden me one bit, Y/n. All I want is for you to feel safe, feel comfortable.”
You smiled at those words before thinking of where to start.
”…I first met Minjun when we were just eighteen.”
𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟
You exhaled deeply when Hongjoong pulled up to the driveway. The little detour you took turned out to be an even longer one than expected, but you couldn’t complain one bit. You had told Hongjoong about your past relationship, how worried you felt that the same thing would happen again, how you doubted yourself, how you wondered if it had all been your fault.
Hongjoong listened as you rambled on, and you were so thankful that he didn’t judge you, that he didn’t call your worries immature or irrational.
When you were about to get home, Hongjoong said something that seemed to be exactly what you wanted to hear.
”You really are amazing, Y/n,” he said softly. You blinked in confusion at the unexpected comment. ”I don’t think you understand how admirable you are, and how much you really mean to all of us,” Hongjoong continued.
You were at a loss for words. ”And hearing that you’ve managed to handle all of this - all of us - even when you’ve been through these things, it shows how strong you are.”
”Hongjoong, you don’t have to say this just because—”, ”No, listen. I mean every single word I say. We all trust you, and you need to credit yourself for how well you’ve responded to our relationship.”
His words echoed in your brain as you entered the house, the only thing being able to break you out of the trance-like state you were in being San who rushed into the hallway as you entered.
He immediately took the two bags from your hands, rushing to put them away, before he returned to wrap you in his strong arms.
You giggled as he lifted you up and spun you around in his arms. ”Welcome home,” he smiled into your neck. Hongjoong eyed the two of you with a smile. Aside from your dating history, you had told Hongjoong about the previous night as well.
Although you sometimes wondered if the others would be uncomfortable with such information, Hongjoong managed to assure you that that wasn’t the case. He made sure to express how happy he was about it, and how you didn’t have to feel ashamed over anything.
He gave you a knowing glance when San was hugging him, making you blush. You hadn’t intended to tell him the details, but he seemed to be able to draw it out of you.
It was one of those sundays that were meant for doing absolutely nothing, that or grocery shopping with Hongjoong, or helping Seonghwa clean, like you were right now.
In the morning, Seonghwa had left to go shopping for something (you couldn’t remember what it was) so he left you a little note, saying that he didn’t want to wake you up and that he would be home by three.
Hence the reason you hadn’t been able to update him about the previous night’s events yet.
You shyly brought it up while folding some laundry, and his eyes widened dramatically when you finally told him that you had managed to kiss both Yunho and San.
”Really? They didn’t pressure you to do it though, right?” he asked worriedly. You laughed, shaking your head. ”Of course not,” you reassured, making him breathe out in relief.
”But, I really don’t want to step on anyone’s toes, and I don’t want to make you uncomfortable in any way, so…” you rambled on, looking down at the floor. ”Are you sure this is okay? I thought that- maybe I should’ve asked you—” you got quieter for each word, feeling self conscious all of a sudden.
”Hey, listen to me,” Seonghwa said, hands meeting the sides of your cheeks to make you look at him. ”I meant what I said when I said that I’m completely comfortable with it, hell, I’d even say that I’ll encourage it, but of course, I don’t want you to do something that you don’t want to,” he explained.
You looked into his dark eyes, and you felt how genuine they were. You felt reassured, and you realized that these worries hadn’t been so present yesterday night, or even this morning. Maybe seeing Minjun again planted this seed, this seed of uncertainty and insecurity. You knew deep down that Seonghwa would tell you if he wasn’t okay with it, you knew that you wouldn’t be held in the dark, but the fear still stayed there, constantly existing in the back of your head.
”I saw Minjun today,” you suddenly blurted out. You needed to say it, just to get it off of your chest. Seonghwa’s face dropped.
Sure, he didn’t know all of the details of your relationship, but he knew enough to know that it was a sensitive subject to you.
”Oh my god,” he said, caressing your face. You took a deep breath. ”It felt horrible to see him. It felt like everything came crashing back down on me again.”
Seonghwa listened, sitting down on the bed next to the large piles of laundry (you didn’t know why Seonghwa insisted that you two always do everyone’s laundry).
”But then, I talked to Hongjoong about it. I told him exactly what was on my mind when I saw him, exactly how the whole situation affected me, and now—” you smiled. ”Now I’m sure I’ll be fine.”
𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟
You sat back in your chair, putting your hands on your stomach. ”I’m stuffed,” you said, looking at the plate that you had somehow managed to empty of food.
Wooyoung looked at you with a proud smile, him being the one who cooked the meal.
Yunho sat at his usual spot, in between you and Jongho. Seeing him after last night, you almost expected him to be shy or embarrassed, judging from how shy he seemed when you kissed him. But as you met him in the dining room, you saw a big smirk on his face. The hug he gave you was longer than usual, and you couldn’t help but squeak when you felt his big hands tighten around your waist, fingers digging into your flesh ever so slightly.
It seemed you were the shy one, feeling flushed when he whispered in your ear. ”I’ll get you back for catching me off guard like that.”
”Alright,” Hongjoong caught everyones attention. ”We need to discuss the trip next weekend.”
Oh right, you thought. You had almost forgotten about their seasonal trip to their cabin in the woods.
You straightened your posture, listening to Yunho who spoke up. ”Everyone’s coming, right?” he asked, looking around. His gaze stopped on you, making you look away.
”We don’t know that,” Hongjoong said, looking at you with a raised eyebrow. ”Y/n hasn’t said if she’s coming yet.”
You suddenly felt everyone’s eyes on you, anticipating your answer. ”Oh, me?” you said, voice a little higher than normal.
”Of course you’re coming! It’s a tradition!” Wooyoung said, making you bite your lip in thought. ”Hmm… I don’t know,” you said, looking down. ”I don’t want to impose or anything. I know this is your thing…”
”You’re not imposing,” Seonghwa said. ”You’re a part of us now, and I’d really like you to come,” Seonghwa looked at you with his soft eyes, his hand finding yours and rubbing the back of it with his thumb.
”Yeah! It wouldn’t be the same without you!” Mingi said, his smile wide, already making you feel better.
You heard hums of agreement around the table. ”Well,” you started, taking a deep breath. ”I mean… If you’re all sure it’s okay.”
”It’s more than okay,” Yunho said, catching your attention. ”We’ll have so much fun! And trust me, you won’t want to miss seeing Mingi attempt to fish,” he said in a very audible whisper, glancing at Mingi with a playful smile.
”Hey! I’m a great fisherman!” Mingi protested, making you giggle.
”Alright,” you finally said, but felt the need to check one more time. ”But are you guys sure it’s okay? It’s fine if it’s not—” you tried, not wanting to risk being a burden.
”Oh hush now,” Hongjoong said. ”We all really want you to come with us,” he said. It always felt good to hear it from him.
”Alright, I’ll come.”
San and Wooyoung cheered loudly. ”This is going to be the best trip ever!” Wooyoung said.
As the others continued talking about the trip, you felt your sense of belonging only grew.

Your Brother's Best Friend- Noni Madueke
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wearning: slight smut
Request: yes!
Being Levi Colwill’s younger sister wasn’t always easy, especially with how protective he was of you. Ever since you were little, Levi had always kept an eye on anyone who came near you, which made you feel safe but sometimes a bit suffocated. Now that he played for Chelsea, his life was a whirlwind of training sessions, matches, and, of course, his teammates.
Among them was Noni Madueke. His radiant smile, contagious energy, and the way he joked with you every time he came over were impossible to ignore. You found yourself looking for any excuse to spend even a few minutes with him whenever he came home with Levi after training.
“Y/N, are you really staring at the wall, or are you watching someone?” Levi’s voice snapped you out of your thoughts as you sat on the couch. Noni had just gone into the kitchen to grab a drink, and, of course, your eyes had followed his every move.
“What? No! I’m just… thinking!” you replied, trying to sound casual. Levi raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. “Uh-huh, sure. Keep your eyes off my teammates, okay? Especially Noni.”
“Oh, come on, that would never happen!” you lied, trying to hide the blush creeping across your cheeks.
Right at that moment, Noni walked back in with his signature grin and a couple of jokes ready to go. “What’s the topic? Hope you weren’t talking about me, eh?”
Your heart did a somersault, but you just laughed nervously. “Nothing important, we were just chatting.”
He gave you a curious yet kind look, the kind that made you feel like you were the only person in the room. He asked you about your university course, and as you talked, it felt like the rest of the world disappeared.
When Levi noticed that Noni was paying you just a little too much attention, he stepped in. “Alright, enough chit-chat. Noni, let’s go. We’ve got clips from yesterday’s match to review.”
Noni chuckled but, before following Levi, he glanced back at you. “See you later, Y/N.”
And as your heart raced, you couldn’t help but hope that “see you later” meant much more than just a quick chat.
The next day Noni shows up at your house.“Hi, if you're looking for Levi, he's not at home right now,” you say, trying to act normal.
Noni’s cheerful smile widens upon seeing you.“I know, I came to see you, actually,” he replies, his voice oozing confidence.
Your heart flips. He came to see you? Why?
A hundred thoughts race through your mind, but you try to hide the excitement bubbling up. “Me? Why?”
Noni takes a step closer, his eyes never leaving yours.“I figured I needed a break from all the football talk. Plus, I wanted to spend some time with a beautiful girl.”
Your cheeks flush at his compliment. It’s hard to think straight when he’s standing so close to you.Clearing your throat, you manage to stutter out a response. “Wh-what do you want to do then?”
Noni grins, enjoying the flustered look on your face.“I don’t know… maybe we could have a quick chat? We’ve never really talked much just the two of us, have we?”
You nod, feeling a mixture of nerves and excitement. Spending time alone with him is both thrilling and terrifying.“Sure, yeah, we can chat.”
You let him into your house while you try not to freak out and close the door.
Noni follows you inside, his presence filling the room as you both find a place to sit down. He flops onto the couch, completely at ease, while you perch nervously on the edge of the armchair opposite him, trying to slow your racing heart.“So,” he begins, a playful smile on his lips, “What shall we chat about?”
Your mind goes blank for a moment as his piercing gaze fixates on you. You’re used to seeing his carefree smile and hearing his jokes and banter. Being alone with him feels different. Suddenly, your brain can’t seem to come up with a single topic of conversation.“Um… I don’t know… you tell me,” you say, attempting to sound casual.
Noni leans back on the couch, one arm stretched out across the back, still gazing at you intently.“Well, let’s see… what’s your favorite color?” he asks, with a smirk.
You smile in amusement at his question. "Do you want to know my favorite color?"
Noni chuckles, enjoying the exchange.“I do. It’s a very important question.”
You roll your eyes, but there’s a hint of a smile on your lips. You can’t believe he’s asking about something so trivial.“Fine. My favorite color is purple.”
Noni raises an eyebrow, pretending to consider your answer.“Purple... interesting choice.”
You can’t help but smile at his exaggerated response. “What’s yours then?”
He pretends to think about it for a moment, though you’re sure he knows his answer immediately.“Mine is whatever color your cheeks turn when you’re embarrassed.”
You blushed at his words and looked away, biting your lip to hide the smile that was breaking out of you.
Noni watches you intently as the blush spreads across your cheeks. He clearly enjoys the effect he has on you.“See, that’s the color I’m talking about,” he grins, pointing at your flushed face. “That’s the prettiest color there is.”
You try to regain your composure and look him in the eye.“You say that to every girl, don’t you?”It’s a half-joke, but there’s a hint of insecurity in your voice. Noni’s smooth with everyone, why should you be any different?
Noni cocks his head, his smile faltering for a moment. He seems to pick up on the hint of vulnerability in your tone.“You think I say that to every girl?” he asks, a flicker of seriousness in his expression.
You shrug, trying to play it cool. “I don’t know, you seem pretty charming with everyone around.”
Noni leans forward, his eyes locked on yours.“Maybe it’s different with you.”
Those few words send a shiver down your spine, but you keep your cool and raise an eyebrow skeptically. “Oh really? What makes me different?”
Noni contemplates his next words for a moment, his gaze intensifying.“It’s just… when I’m with you, it doesn’t feel like a game. It feels different. Real.”His words hang in the air, making your heart pound even faster. You’re not sure if he’s just flattering you or if he really means what he’s saying.
You try to keep your voice steady, not wanting him to realize how much his words affect you.“Real how?” you ask, searching his face for any hint of insincerity.
Noni takes a moment to reply. When he does, his voice is softer, more sincere.“With you, it’s not just about the football or the banter. I like talking to you. Genuinely. It feels like we’re actually connecting, and I don’t feel that with just anyone.”
You smiled softly at his words and you could feel the butterflies in your stomach.Seeing your soft smile, Noni's gaze softens further. He leans back against the couch again, watching you intently.
"You know, I don't think you even realize how cute you look right now," he says quietly, a hint of a smirk on his lips.
Your heart skips another beat at his compliment. You quickly look down, trying to hide the redness in your cheeks that you know is giving you away."Stop it," you say with a shy smile.
But Noni’s not finished. He moves a little closer to you, his voice dropping to a low, intimate tone."No, seriously. You're so damn cute when you're flustered."
You can feel his eyes on you, making you feel a mix of nervous and exhilarated. His proximity is intoxicating, and the air between you feels charged."I... I'm not trying to be cute," you stutter, still unable to meet his gaze.
Noni chuckles, clearly enjoying the effect he has on you."I know you're not trying. That's what makes it so adorable."
You finally muster up the courage to look at him, and when you do, his gaze pins you in place. It’s intense, almost overwhelming. But there’s something else in his eyes too – a hint of desire, and a flicker of something deeper.
As he speaks again, his voice is barely above a whisper.“You drive me crazy when you blush like that, you know.”
You gulp, feeling the truth of his words sink in. The way he’s looking at you sends a shiver down your spine."I..." you start, but your voice trails off. You can’t form a coherent thought with him so close and his eyes on you like that.
He notices your struggle, and a slow, languid smile curls at the corners of his mouth. He obviously enjoys having you at a loss for words.
The tension between you grows more intense by the second. He slowly reaches out and places a hand on your knee. The touch of his fingers on your skin sends electricity through your body."You know," he murmurs, moving his face closer to yours, "I'd love to see just how red you can get."His words are like a flame igniting a fire within you.
You can feel your heart racing in your chest as he inches nearer. He's so close now you can smell his cologne, a perfect mix of spicy and musky. All your rational thoughts seem to disappear, leaving only the pounding in your chest and the burning desire in your veins.
"I..." you begin again, but he cuts you off with a knowing smile.
"Shh," he whispers, bringing his fingers to your lips delicately."Don't overthink it. Just let me do this." His other hand moves up to caress your cheek, the pads of his fingers soft against your skin. You’re lost in his eyes and the sensations he's evoking within you that you barely notice him leaning in even closer."Just... relax," he murmurs, his breath warm on your face.
He's so close now you could count every one of his eyelashes. Your breaths mingle together, and you feel as though the world has shrank to just the two of you. With a tender yet firm touch, he slides his hand behind your neck, pulling you even closer. The way he touches you is electrifying, sending sparks through every nerve in your body.
"You're trembling," he whispers, his lips so close to yours now you can almost taste them. "Are you nervous?"
You nod. It's a lie. You’re not nervous. You're overwhelmed, excited, yearning.
"Good" he says, the word a hot breath against your mouth. "That means you want this as badly as I do."
And then, finally, his lips brush against yours. It's a soft, hesitant touch at first, as if he's testing your reaction. But as soon as your lips respond eagerly to his, he leans in further, deepening the kiss.Your mind goes blank, consumed by the feel of his lips on yours, the taste of him on your tongue. Every nerve in your body is alive and on fire.
The hand on your neck tightens, pulling you against him. Your bodies are flush now, molded to each other. His free hand slips from your knee to your waist, pulling you even closer. The contact is almost dizzying.
He breaks the kiss momentarily, his forehead resting against yours, eyes still closed."You have no idea how long I've been wanting to do that," he whispers, his voice hoarse with desire.
You let out a shaky sigh, your head reeling from the kiss. Your hands find their way to his shoulders, gripping them tightly as you try to ground yourself."You... you have?" you manage to ask, your own voice sounding foreign to your ears.
Noni opens his eyes, his gaze intense as it locks with yours."For weeks. Maybe months," he admits, his fingers idly tracing patterns on your waist.
"I've wanted you from the first moment I saw you."His confession sends a thrill through you, making your heart pound even louder. You can’t believe he's been harboring this kind of feelings for so long."But... why didn’t you say anything?" you ask, searching his face.
He smiles at your question, but there’s a hint of sadness in his eyes."Your brother would've killed me," he laughs quietly.
The mention of your brother snaps you back to reality for a moment. It’s true. Levi would absolutely lose his mind if he knew about this. You bite your lip, not wanting to think about that right now. Right now, you just want to be with Noni and forget everything else.
Noni seems to pick up on your concern, and he gently tilts your chin up, meeting your eyes.“Don’t worry about him. For now, just focus on me.”
He leans in again, capturing your lips in another fiery kiss. This time there’s no hesitation, just raw, unfiltered passion. His hands move to your thighs, gripping them firmly as he pulls you up closer. Your legs wrap around his waist instinctively, and you find yourself straddling him, the heat between you almost unbearable.
Your fingers slide into his hair, grabbing handfuls as you kiss him back with equal fervor. His hands now free, they explore your body greedily, tracing up your back and along your arms, as if trying to memorize every curve. The sensations he’s evoking in you are unlike anything you’ve felt before, and you find yourself yearning for more, arching against him shamelessly.
He groans into your mouth, the sound sending shivers down your spine. His hands move down to your hips, anchoring you firmly against him. You can feel the evidence of his desire for you, pressing into your core, making you want him even more.He kisses along your jawline, his lips leaving a trail of fire on your skin. He continue down your neck, lingering on your pulse point, eliciting a gasp from you.
“God, you’re driving me crazy,” he murmurs against your skin, his breath hot and uneven. He nips at your collarbone, sucking at the sensitive flesh in a way that makes your head swim. His hands pull at the hem of your shirt, untucking it from your jeans, his fingers gently caressing the bare skin of your back. The touch of his fingers is like a brand, marking you as his.
The need to feel closer, to feel his skin against yours, is overwhelming. You tug at his shirt, wanting to get it off, but Noni stops you, his hands finding your wrists and pinning them to the couch cushion beside your head.He pulls away from your neck just enough to look at you, eyes fiery and dark with a hunger that makes you shiver.
"Slow down," he breathes, his voice gravelly. "We've got plenty of time."
You try to catch your breath, your body thrumming with unsatisfied desire. Noni notices and smirks, enjoying your impatient state."Slow," he repeats, this time emphasizing the word with a slow, deliberate roll of his hips against yours.
A strangled gasp escapes you, the friction of his body grinding against yours sending a wave of pleasure through you.
The smirk on his face grows as he feels the effect he’s having on you."Feels good, doesn’t it?" he murmurs, his gaze never leaving yours.
Noni does it again, grinding against you slowly but firmly, eliciting another gasp from you. You can feel him against you, hard and ready, and it’s driving you wild.
“I want to touch you,” you say, your voice a bit whiny.
“You are touching me,” Noni points out, still grinding against you tantalizingly. “Be patient.”
You bite your lip, trying to regain some control over yourself. But it’s difficult when he’s looking at you like that, like you’re the most desirable woman he’s ever seen.
He lets go of your wrists, his hands moving down to the button of your jeans.“Is this what you want?” he asks, hooking a finger in the waistband.
You nod, unable to form words, your heart pounding with anticipation. His free hand slides up under your shirt, splaying across your stomach. You arch against him, wanting – needing – more touch.
Noni unbuttons your jeans, his fingers sliding slowly down the zipper. His hands linger at the edge, teasingly not going any further. Each touch is like a taunt, making you ache for more. You squirm under him, unable to bear the torturous slowness of his movements.
"Noni, please," you whisper, your voice taut with need. "Stop teasing me."He chuckles, clearly enjoying the effect he’s having on you.
“But I like teasing you,” he murmurs, his fingers tracing lazy circles on your exposed skin. “Your body responds so beautifully when I play with you.”
Despite your protests, he continues his torturous pace, his hand finally sliding into your jeans, caressing the sensitive skin of your hip. You arch against him again, a small moan escaping your lips."God, you're so ready for me, aren't you?" he whispers, his voice rough with desire.
You can’t deny it. Every inch of your body is burning for his touch, yearning for more than the teases he’s currently giving you. You feel like you’re going to burst, like you need him in ways you’ve never needed anything before.“Noni, please,” you say again, your hands fisting the fabric of his shirt. “I can’t take this anymore. I need you.”
His answering smile is almost predatory. He can tell he’s got you exactly where he wants.“What do you need?” He asks, his fingers continuing their slow, lazy movements. The hand under your shirt slides up higher, just grazing the underside of your breast.
You can barely string a coherent thought together, let alone form a proper sentence.“You,” you manage to say, your voice breathless. “I need you. All of you.”
His smile widens at your words, and his fingers start to move a little faster now.“Is that right?” he asks, his voice a low growl now. “You want all of me, don’t you?
“Yes,” you breathe, your body responding to his every touch. “All of you. Please, Noni. Don’t make me wait any longer.”
Noni leans in to your ear, his breath hot against your skin. “Impatient,” he murmurs, nipping at your earlobe.
“Can you blame me?” you ask, your voice wavering as his fingers start to dip even lower. “You’ve been torturing me.”
He pulls back slightly, his eyes finding yours. The heat in them makes your heart skip a beat.“Patience is a virtue,” he reminds you, his tone almost chiding. “And I want you to beg for it.”
You almost let out a whine at his words. He wants you to beg? You’re already on the verge of begging, but you’re not quite there yet. You hold onto the last shred of pride you have left and shake your head.“I’m not going to beg,” you say, trying to sound defiant.
His eyes flash with desire as he leans in closer, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper.“Oh you will,” he says, his lips right next to your ear. “I’m going to make sure of it.”
You were about to say something but you hear a door open, you quickly get off Noni and fix yourself trying to act normal.Noni is equally caught off guard, and he stands up, adjusting his shirt and trying to look casual.
Levi steps into the room, his gaze moving between you two. There's a moment of awkward silence as he takes in the scene before him.His eyes narrow slightly as they land on you, and then on Noni, who's standing a little too close to you for comfort.
"Everything okay in here?" Levi asks, his voice laced with suspicion.
"Yeah, everything's fine," you say, a little too quickly. You hope he doesn't notice how out of breath you are.
Levi's eyes flick back to Noni, his expression cool."What are you doing here?" he asks, his tone clearly hostile.
Noni responds with an easy smile, as if this kind of hostility is nothing new to him."Just wanted to stop by and say hi," he says smoothly. "Is that a crime?"Levi scowls at his response, his hackles clearly raised.
You notice your brother's look inviting you to go to your room and you nod, getting up. "Ok, it's getting late, I better go to my room" you murmur, giving Noni one last look.
Noni locks eyes with you, the intense heat still there, but you can also see a trace of disappointment at the premature end of your time together. You give him a small smile, silently communicating that you'd wanted things to end differently too.
As you walk by Levi, heading towards your room, you can feel his eyes boring into the side of your head, but you don't dare look back. You close the door quietly behind you, your heart still racing from Noni's proximity and your brother's unexpected appearance.
You flop down on your bed, not bothering to undress. Your mind is racing with thoughts of what might have happened if Levi hadn't interrupted you. You know you shouldn't, but you can't help but wonder...

🔮 The Fool’s Journey (Into Trouble) 🔮 | Ch. 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lilia Calderu x fem!reader
summary: Y/N makes a questionable purchase, endures an evening of coven induced chaos, and shares an unexpectedly nice breakfast.
wc: 8.5k (Chapter 2/?)
a/n: i'm not entirely happy with this chap, but ngl i have way too much fun writing the coven, I’m sorry. The first half of this chapter is definitely coven heavy (because they’re chaotic and I love them), but don’t worry, towards the end is all about Lilia. again this one’s super dialogue heavy, which i'm not used to but honestly, I couldn’t bring myself to cut any of it without hating myself. Just a quick heads-up, there’s no smut yet, but this chapter does lean into some more mature themes

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………
A week had passed since the Great Flirting Incident, and while Lilia hadn’t exactly acknowledged anything outright, I could tell something had shifted. She was watching me more closely now, little glances when she thought I wasn’t looking, the occasional pause before she called me baby like she was testing the waters. But she hadn’t made a move, and if I was being honest, I wasn’t sure she ever would.
So, naturally, I decided to take matters into my own hands.
It started with a simple realisation: Lilia Calderu was a woman stuck in another century. She still used a landline, still read newspapers, and still had absolutely no concept of modern convenience. I mean, she handwrites every single appointment into an actual paper planner. Who even does that anymore?
At first, it was just a passing thought, how much easier things would be for her if she had a smartphone. But the more I thought about it, the more it felt like the perfect excuse to do something nice for her. Something that wasn’t just flirting but actually, you know, helpful.
Which is why I found myself standing in the phone store, staring at a sleek smartphone display, wondering if I was about to change her life or ruin mine.
By the following morning, Lilia was perched at the counter, lazily shuffling her tarot cards with that effortless grace that made my heart do embarrassing things. She glanced up as the door jingled, eyes flicking to the small shopping bag in my hand.
“What’s this?” she asked, raising a delicate brow.
I placed the bag on the counter with a triumphant grin. “It’s about time you stepped into this decade, Calderu.”
She sighed, long and suffering. “Y/n, I don’t need —”
“You do,” I interrupted, pulling out the sleek black smartphone. “This? This is a miracle. You can set appointments, track orders, and get this, stop living in the dark ages.”
Lilia stared at the device like it might bite her. “I like my dark ages.”
I rolled my eyes. “Come on, humour me. Think of it as an investment. For the shop.”
She exhaled dramatically but took the phone, turning it over in her hands with a look of mild disdain. “It’s so... modern. ”
“That’s the point.” I grinned. “And, because I care about y—” I stumbled, suddenly feeling awkward. “—because I care about... efficiency, I already programmed it with your contacts and the shop’s schedule.”
Lilia smirked, clearly enjoying my mortification. “Very thorough, baby.”
I flushed. “Just... try it.”
She sighed but started poking at the screen, and I watched, fascinated, as her brows furrowed in concentration. “Hmph. It’s... responsive.”
“That’s what touchscreens do.”
“Fascinating.”
I grinned, feeling victorious. “You’re welcome.”
Later that night, I sat on Agatha’s couch, nursing a drink and dramatically recounting my victory to the coven.
“She took the phone,” I said, gesturing grandly. “She even said it was fascinating. This is huge.”
Jen raised a brow. “You bought her a phone?”
“Yeah.”
Alice leaned in. “Like... an actual smartphone? ”
“Yes.”
Agatha, sipping her wine, smirked. “y/n. Baby. Darling.”
“What?”
“You have to sext her.”
I choked on my drink. “ WHAT?! ”
Billy, perched on the armrest of the couch, grinned. “I second this.”
“No,” I said, shaking my head vehemently. “Absolutely not.”
Agatha leaned forward, eyes glinting with mischief. “You cannot waste this opportunity.”
Alice covered her face with her hands. “Oh my God.”
Jen nodded sagely. “Listen, you’ve been pining after this woman for weeks. This is your moment.”
I gaped at them. “I bought her a phone so she could schedule tarot readings, not so I could send her—” I cut myself off, flushing furiously. “No. Not happening.”
Agatha smirked. “y/n.”
“No.”
“y/n.”
I groaned. “Guys, she doesn’t even like me like that.”
Billy scoffed. “She’s calling you baby every five minutes.”
“That’s just how she talks!”
Agatha shook her head. “Trust me, if she wasn’t interested, she wouldn’t put up with your nonsense.”
I buried my face in my hands. “I hate all of you.”
Jen patted my back. “Just... test the waters. Send something flirty. Nothing too intense.”
“Like what?” I mumbled into my hands.
Billy grinned. “Something like ‘Hey, Lilia. Thinking about you. And also that tarot reading you owe me.’ ”
“That’s not sexting?” I arched my brow.
Agatha shrugged. “Baby steps, y/n. Baby steps.”
Alice, ever the voice of reason, chimed in. “Or you could, you know, just use the phone for its intended purpose.”
Agatha and Billy groaned in unison.
Jen smirked. “C’mon, y/n. You flirt with everyone else like it’s your day job. Why not just send a little something spicy?”
I shook my head furiously. “Absolutely not. I refuse.”
Agatha grinned wickedly. “Then hand me your phone.”
I snatched it away, glaring. “I will murder you.”
“Fine, fine,” Agatha said, leaning back with a sigh. “But mark my words, y/n, you will crack. And when you do, I expect details.”
I groaned, sinking deeper into the couch.
This was going to be a disaster.
Another morning, another shift, I found myself watching Lilia as she tapped away at her new phone with a surprising amount of focus. She was getting the hang of it faster than I’d expected, which only made me more nervous.
“Enjoying it?” I asked casually, leaning on the counter.
She glanced up, lips quirking. “It’s... useful.”
I smirked. “Told you so.”
Her eyes twinkled. “You’re quite persistent, baby.”
I swallowed hard. Don’t read into it. Don’t read into it.
Lilia left not long after, saying something about running errands and warning me not to rearrange her “perfectly organised” bookshelves while she was gone. I rolled my eyes, but as soon as the bell above the door chimed, I let out a breath.
I was halfway through dusting the crystal ball display when my phone buzzed in my pocket. Expecting a message from one of the chaos gremlins I called friends, I pulled it out without thinking, only for my stomach to drop.
New message from Lilia Calderu:"This phone might be useful after all. You’ve made me quite... curious."
I stared at the screen, my heart pounding in my chest.
“Oh no,” I whispered.
I could practically hear Agatha’s voice in my head.
You cannot waste this opportunity.
I didn’t respond to Lilia’s text. Not right away, at least. I told myself it was because I was busy, sorting inventory, helping customers, thinking about her like a lovesick idiot, but really, it was because I had no idea what to say.
"You’ve made me quite... curious."
What did that mean? Was she flirting? Was she just being her usual enigmatic self? Or was I reading too much into a perfectly innocent text from a woman who probably thought Wi-Fi was some kind of mystical energy?
I shoved my phone back into my pocket and spent the rest of the day pretending it didn’t exist.
Later that night, I gathered the coven at my place, pacing my living room as I relayed the situation.
“So she texted that, and I didn’t reply,” I finished, waving my phone around like it was cursed. “I just left her on read. ”
Agatha groaned, throwing her head back dramatically. “y/n. y/n. ”
Billy gasped. “You ghosted her?”
“It’s not ghosting if it’s only been a few hours!” I argued. “I needed... I needed time. ”
Jen stared at me like I was the dumbest person alive. “To do what, exactly?”
“Panic!” I exclaimed, throwing myself onto the couch. “You don’t understand! I can flirt with anyone, anyone, but it’s Lilia. She’s... Lilia. ”
Alice, sitting beside me, patted my knee with sympathy. “We know, y/n. But if you don’t reply soon, you’re going to look weird.”
Agatha sat forward, pointing at me with a knowing smirk. “You need to sext her.”
“No!” I practically shouted, scrambling to sit up. “We are not sexting!”
Billy grinned. “You cannot miss this opportunity.”
Jen crossed her arms. “y/n. Babe. If you don’t flirt back, she’s going to think you’re not interested.”
I groaned. “I am interested. I’m just not... ready to send the big guns. ”
Agatha rolled her eyes. “Fine. We’ll start small. What’s something flirty but not too flirty?”
Billy snapped his fingers. “Tell her you were thinking about her.”
I stared. “I’m not texting that.”
Alice suggested gently, “Maybe something like... ‘What exactly are you curious about?’”
Jen nodded approvingly. “Oh, that’s good. Leaves it open-ended.”
Agatha smirked. “And suggestive.”
I pointed at Alice. “I like that one. Safe. Respectable.”
Billy huffed. “Boring.”
I took a deep breath, typing it out slowly.
Me: What exactly are you curious about?
I stared at the screen, hovering over the send button. “Okay, I sent it. Wait, no, I can’t.” I threw my phone to Alice. “You send it.”
Alice sighed but hit send. “Done.”
I buried my face in my hands. “I hate this. This is awful. Why do people do this?”
Agatha snickered. “Because it’s fun.”
A moment later, my phone buzzed, and the entire group froze.
Billy’s eyes widened. “Oh my God, she replied already?”
I snatched my phone, heart pounding.
Lilia: You, mostly.
Silence.
Then chaos.
I just stared at the screen in pure, unadulterated panic. “WHAT DO I SAY TO THAT?”
Agatha grinned like the devil herself. “You say... ‘Only mostly?’”
Alice nodded. “Yes. Play it cool.”
I nodded slowly, fingers trembling. “Okay... okay.” I typed the words, hesitated, then hit send.
A minute passed. Another buzz.
Lilia: You do tend to take up a lot of space.
Billy fell to the floor. “WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?”
Agatha cackled. “It means you’re living in her head rent-free. Y/n, if you don’t escalate this, I will.”
I groaned, pacing the room again. “Okay. Okay. I need to flirt back. How do I flirt back without looking desperate?”
Jen smirked. “You are desperate.”
Alice offered, “Maybe... ‘I hope I’m not too much trouble.’”
Agatha groaned. “Boring. Say, ‘I’ll take that as a compliment.’”
“I’m not pushing it, Agatha.”
Billy grinned. “Coward.”
I sighed, typing Alice’s suggestion.
Me: I hope I’m not too much trouble.
Another buzz.
Lilia: Not yet.
I screamed into a pillow.
Agatha raised her glass. “Ladies and gentlemen... we got her.”
The next morning, I walked into the shop with my heart pounding in my chest, expecting— hoping —for some sort of acknowledgment from Lilia. Maybe a sly smile, a lingering look, or even a teasing comment about our texts.
Instead, I got... nothing.
“Morning, y/n,” she greeted me in her usual warm but distant tone, barely glancing up from rearranging a set of tarot decks.
I blinked. “Uh, morning.”
She didn’t say anything else. No mention of the texts, no coy smile, no baby. Just business as usual.
I busied myself at the counter, sneaking glances at her whenever I could. And while she seemed to be going out of her way to act normal, something was different. She stood closer to me when we worked together, her hands occasionally brushing mine when I passed her something. She touched my arm when she needed me to move, her fingers lingering for just a second longer than necessary.
But she didn’t say anything about it.
Not a damn thing.
And to make things worse, she kept casually reminding me of just how much older she was.
“You wouldn’t remember,” she said with a small chuckle when I asked about an old book she was dusting off. “It’s before your time.”
When I mentioned a show I’d been watching, she waved it off with a smirk. “Oh, y/n, that’s so... modern. I remember when television didn’t have color. ”
And when I tripped over my words trying to ask her a question, she just gave me that small, infuriating smile and murmured, “Ah, youth.”
It was driving me insane.
That night, I gathered with the coven at Agatha’s, pacing the living room like a woman on the edge. “She’s driving me crazy, ” I groaned, throwing myself onto the couch dramatically.
Jen raised an eyebrow. “She didn’t mention the texts at all? ”
“Not even once! ” I threw my hands in the air. “It’s like they never happened! And yet she’s touching me more than ever, but at the same time, she keeps bringing up how ancient she is.”
Agatha smirked. “Ah, classic ‘I’m too old for you’ defense.”
Billy frowned. “Wait, you think she’s doing it on purpose?”
Alice nodded thoughtfully. “It sounds like she’s trying to create distance without actually pulling away.”
I groaned into a pillow. “So what does that mean? She’s interested but scared?”
Jen hummed. “Maybe. Or she could just be screwing with you.”
Agatha sipped her wine. “Or hear me out—she’s waiting for you to push past the age thing.”
I peeked out from the pillow. “Push past it how? ”
Billy grinned. “Flirt harder.”
I sat up. “I don’t think I can flirt harder, Billy.”
Agatha leaned in with a devilish grin. “Then you make her realise age doesn’t matter.”
Jen smirked. “And how exactly does she do that?”
Agatha’s eyes gleamed. “Confidence. You show her you’re mature, and that she’s the one wasting time over nothing.”
I frowned. “And if she’s genuinely not interested?”
Alice squeezed my hand. “Then at least you’ll know for sure.”
Billy nudged me. “Look, the way she texts you... she’s interested, y/n. No way she’s not.”
I sighed. “I just... I don’t want to push her if she’s uncomfortable.”
Agatha rolled her eyes. “y/n. She’s not uncomfortable. She’s hesitant. There’s a difference.”
Jen nodded. “You just need to show her that you’re serious, that you’re not some wide-eyed kid crushing on her.”
I groaned again. “So what do I do?”
Agatha grinned. “You step up your game. And I have just the plan.”
The shop was quiet this afternoon, the scent of incense curling through the air as I busied myself restocking the shelves. Lilia sat behind the counter, flipping through a book, her brow furrowed in quiet concentration. It was a peaceful kind of day until the bell above the door chimed, and I looked up, nearly dropping the stack of crystals in my hands.
I froze.
Standing in the doorway, looking just as poised and elegant as ever, was my ex.
“Oh my God,” I muttered under my breath.
She blinked, then smiled in genuine surprise. “y/n?”
Lilia glanced up at the exchange, her expression pleasantly neutral, though I noticed the way her fingers paused mid-page turn.
I forced a smile, setting down the crystals. “Hey! Wow, uh... what are you doing here?”
She laughed lightly, brushing a lock of dark hair behind her ear. “A friend of mine recommended this place. Said the tarot readings here were... life-changing. ”
Agatha, you absolute menace.
Before I could explain, Lilia stood, offering one of her usual polite smiles. “A friend of y/n’s?”
My ex turned to her, all charm and grace. “Oh no, dear,” she said with a small chuckle, resting a hand on the counter. “I’m her ex.”
Silence.
Absolute, deafening silence.
Lilia’s lips parted slightly, her eyes widening just a fraction before she masked it with a practiced blink. “Oh,” she said slowly, clearly recalibrating. “I see.” Her eyes flicked between us, and then, with an almost surgical precision, she added, “Aren’t you... a little old?”
I internally screamed.
My ex, to her credit, handled it with an amused smile. “It was perfectly legal, I assure you.”
Lilia’s gaze didn’t waver. “Hm.”
I coughed awkwardly, feeling my face heat. “We, uh... it was a while ago.”
Lilia didn’t respond, just continued observing me with that unreadable expression of hers, her hands resting lightly on the counter.
My ex gave me a lingering smile. “You look good, y/n. It’s been a while.”
“Yeah, it has,” I said, shifting uncomfortably under Lilia’s silent gaze. “How have you been?”
“Busy,” she replied with a casual shrug. “But I won’t keep you, I just wanted to check the place out. It’s lovely. I’ll be sure to come back when I have time for a tarot reading.” She smiled politely at Lilia. “I see y/n’s in good hands.” She added.
Lilia’s lips twitched, but she only nodded. “Naturally.”
I was pretty sure I was sweating at this point. “Uh, yeah, well, good seeing you. Let me know if you need anything.”
“I will,” she said with a lingering smile before heading out the door with a soft chime of the bell.
The moment she was gone, I turned to Lilia, ready to explain but she was already facing away from me, carefully aligning a deck of tarot cards that didn’t need aligning.
Silence stretched between us, heavy and thick.
I cleared my throat. “Sooo... that happened.”
Lilia hummed noncommittally, her focus apparently glued to the cards in her hands. “Indeed.”
I shifted awkwardly. “You okay?”
She glanced at me, her expression perfectly composed but her eyes just a little too sharp. “I’m fine, baby.”
Baby. I nearly sighed in relief at the sound of it, but something about the way she said it, softer, more thoughtful made my stomach twist.
“You sure? You’re, uh... being quiet.”
She smiled faintly, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Just... thinking.”
I frowned, watching her closely. “About?”
She didn’t answer right away, instead carefully setting the tarot deck down before meeting my gaze. “I suppose I’m just... surprised.”
“Surprised?” I echoed.
Lilia tilted her head, her expression unreadable again. “You didn’t strike me as someone who dated... older women.”
I laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of my neck. “Uh... surprise?”
Lilia studied me for a long moment, her lips pressing together like she was considering something. “I see.”
And then, without another word, she turned back to her work, and I was left standing there, feeling like I had somehow lost a game I didn’t even know we were playing.
By nightfall, I was back at Agatha’s, crashing onto her couch, groaning dramatically. “Agatha, you suck. ”
She grinned over her wine glass. “You’re welcome.”
Jen shook her head. “So let me get this straight, you saw your ex, Lilia found out, and now she’s acting weird? ”
“Weird,” I confirmed, running a hand through my hair. “She’s quiet. Too quiet. And she kept bringing up the age thing before, but now she’s, like, really leaning into it.”
Billy grinned. “So she’s jealous.”
I groaned. “I don’t know! She’s not saying anything. She’s just being all... introspective.”
Agatha smirked. “Oh, she’s spiraling.”
Alice gave me a sympathetic look. “Maybe she’s just processing. I mean, you’re younger, and she’s probably overthinking it.”
“She is overthinking it,” I muttered. “And I don’t know what to do!”
Jen sipped her drink. “You flirt with her more.”
Billy nodded. “Exactly. Show her age means nothing.”
I sighed. “I don’t know if I can just—”
Agatha cut me off. “y/n. Look at me.”
I looked.
“You are hot. You are charming. And you have successfully dated an older woman before. ”
I winced. “Thanks for the reminder.”
She grinned. “Lilia Calderu is not immune to you. Trust me. She’s just panicking because now she knows she’s not the first older woman you’ve been interested in.”
Alice chimed in gently, “She might have been telling herself the age thing was a reason not to get involved with you. And now? She’s realising it’s not a reason at all.”
I blinked. “You think?”
Agatha smirked. “I know. ”
Billy fist-pumped. “So, new plan?”
I sighed, staring at my phone, where Lilia’s name sat in my recent messages. “New plan,” I mumbled. “Step up the flirting.”
Agatha raised her glass. “To y/n’s romantic conquest!”
I groaned. This was going to be so much worse than the texting.
I walked into the shop with renewed determination. Last night’s pep talk with the coven had me feeling... well, mostly confident. At least confident enough to step up my game and make it clear to Lilia that the whole age thing? Not an issue. I had a plan, flirt, be charming, and maybe, just maybe , get her to acknowledge whatever was happening between us.
Except life, as usual, had other plans.
The moment I walked in, the shop was packed. A line of customers at the counter, others browsing the shelves, and Lilia, poised, composed, and completely absorbed in reading after reading.
I blinked. “Since when do we get this busy?”
She didn’t answer, of course. Lilia never spoke during a reading, but the way she glanced up at me before flipping over a card for the woman in front of her said enough.
I sighed, shoving my bag behind the counter.
After the reading, she finally looked up, smoothing her hands over the table. “It’s the full moon tomorrow. People are... searching.”
“Of course they are.”
So much for my grand seduction plan.
I tried, though. Between organising stock and ringing up sales, I threw in little comments. A brush of my hand here, a sly smile there. But Lilia? She was avoiding me like it was her new favorite hobby.
Every time I moved toward her, she shifted her attention to a customer. When I leaned against the counter, trying to catch her eye, she breezed past me with a murmured, “Excuse me, baby.”
And when I finally managed to get close enough to remind her about my plans, she barely registered it.
“Hey, don’t forget I have to leave early tomorrow,” I said, leaning in slightly. “Agatha’s art gallery thing, remember? I told you last week.”
Lilia, scanning a book title, nodded absently. “Mhm. That’s fine, baby.”
I frowned. “Lilia, Agatha will kill me if I miss it.”
Still no real reaction. “You’ll be fine.”
And just like that, she was gone again, moving to help another customer without a second glance.
I stared after her, utterly baffled. She was always attentive when I talked to her, always teasing or throwing in some cryptic comment to keep me on my toes. But today? Today, she was distant. Aloof. And it was driving me insane.
By the end of the day, I was ready to scream.
I stomped into Agatha’s that evening, slumping onto the couch in pure defeat. “She’s avoiding me.”
Agatha didn’t even look up from her wine. “Told you she’d spiral.”
Billy, sprawled on the floor with a tarot deck, flipped over a random card and smirked. “I predict that she’s freaking out.”
Jen raised an eyebrow. “You got all that from the cards?”
“No, I got that from common sense,” Billy said, grinning.
Alice offered me a sympathetic smile. “Maybe she’s just busy?”
I threw my hands in the air. “No, Alice. She’s strategically avoiding me. I tried everything today. Every time I got close, she found something else to do.”
Jen winced. “Ouch. So what’s the plan now?”
Agatha set down her wine, eyes gleaming. “Simple. You keep going.”
I groaned. “Agatha.”
“No, listen,” she insisted, sitting up. “If she’s avoiding you, that means she felt something yesterday. And now she’s panicking.”
Billy grinned. “So what you’re saying is... push harder?”
I groaned again. “You guys want me to die.”
Agatha leaned back, grinning. “You’ve survived worse.”
I sighed. “I told her I was leaving early for your thing tomorrow. She barely reacted.”
Agatha smirked. “Good. Because tomorrow, my dear y/n, she’s going to realise just how much she hates it when you’re not around.”
Alice smiled kindly. “Maybe a little space will make her see what she’s missing.”
I stared at the ceiling. “I hate all of you.”
Billy grinned. “We know.”
As soon as I stepped into the shop again, it felt like déjà vu. But thankfully today the shop was quiet. Not many customers, just the quiet hum of the incense burner. And, of course, Lilia still expertly dodging me like it was her life’s mission.
I tried to be casual about it, leaning on the counter and watching her pretend to be absorbed in inventory she’d probably memorised years ago. “Hey, mind if I use your place to get ready for Agatha’s thing later?” I asked, keeping my voice light.
She didn’t even look up, just nodded. “Of course. The spare key’s behind the counter.”
I resisted the urge to sigh. “Thanks.”
And just like that, she was back to pretending I didn’t exist.
I stared at her for a moment, resisting the urge to say something more, something to break through whatever walls she was so determined to put up. But instead, I just grabbed the spare key and headed into the back.
Lilia’s space was tucked behind the shop, a cozy, cluttered little place filled with books, candles, and an endless supply of robes draped over various furniture pieces. I didn’t think much of it as I changed into the dress Agatha had practically forced me to wear. The dress hugged every inch of me in all the right places, the deep shade accentuating my skin in a way that even I had to admit was... impressive.
I slipped on my heels, applied my red lipstick with a steady hand, and fixed my hair until it fell just right. I wasn’t trying to do anything, this was just getting ready for Agatha’s event but even I could admit I looked good.
With one last glance in the mirror, I grabbed my things and stepped back into the shop.
Lilia was standing behind the counter, flipping through a book, seemingly lost in thought. She didn’t look up at first.
And then she did.
I watched the reaction unfold in slow motion, the way her eyes lifted, trailing up from the hem of my dress to my legs, then higher, higher, until they reached my face. Then she looked down, as if to double-check what she’d just seen. And then— snap —right back up again, her head jerking so fast I swore she almost gave herself whiplash.
Her lips parted slightly, and for the first time ever, she said absolutely nothing.
I bit back a smile and walked over to the counter, heels clicking against the wooden floor, and held out the keys. “Thanks for letting me use your place.”
Lilia’s fingers closed around the keys, but she didn’t look away. Her dark eyes dragged over me again, slower this time, like she was trying to take it all in, maybe even commit it to memory.
There was something in the way she was looking at me, like she was working up the courage to say something. Her mouth opened slightly, and for a split second, I thought she might finally break her silence.
And then, right on cue, the door chimed.
“y/n, darling!” Agatha’s voice was as bright and smug as ever as she strolled in, wearing a knowing smile that only deepened when she saw the way Lilia was staring at me. “Look at you.”
Lilia’s gaze snapped away, and just like that, the moment was gone.
Agatha’s arm linked through mine, her grin positively feral as she turned to Lilia. “I’m stealing her for the night. Hope you don’t mind.”
Lilia finally spoke, her voice softer than usual. “Not at all.”
I turned to her with a small smile. “Bye, Lilia.”
She nodded, still looking at me like she wasn’t quite sure what to say. “Goodnight, baby.”
Agatha practically dragged me out of the shop, and as soon as the door shut behind us, she let out a low whistle.
“Holy shit, y/n.”
I sighed, running a hand through my hair. “Yeah, yeah.”
“No, no, did you see her face?” Agatha cackled, practically vibrating with glee. “I think you just aged her a decade.”
I groaned. “She didn’t even say anything.”
Agatha rolled her eyes, starting the car. “Oh, honey, she didn’t need to. That woman was devouring you with her eyes.”
I bit my lip, staring out the window. “You think?”
“I know. ”
And honestly? I really, really hoped she was right.
The night with Agatha was exactly what I needed. I loved things like this, dressing up, feeling the buzz of conversation, the soft glow of lights reflecting off expensive paintings, and the effortless way I fit into it all. There was something about the atmosphere, about the way people looked at me, that made me feel alive. And, of course, Agatha basked in it too, sipping her wine with a smirk and throwing me knowing looks every time someone complimented my dress.
"You clean up dangerously well, darling," she whispered at one point, nudging me with her elbow. "No wonder Lilia nearly combusted."
I rolled my eyes but couldn't fight the heat creeping up my neck. "She didn't combust."
Agatha just grinned. "She will."
After the event wrapped up, Agatha, never one to let a good night end too soon, insisted on a celebratory gathering at her place. It didn't take much convincing—Billy, Jen, and Alice were already in, and honestly, I loved being around them. Nights like this were rare, and I soaked it in, lounging on Agatha’s plush couch with a glass of wine in hand while she dramatically recounted the events of the night.
"And then," Agatha said, eyes sparkling with mischief, "she walked out of that little back room, looking absolutely devastating, and I swear to you, Lilia nearly dropped dead. "
Jen gasped in delight. "Shut up. "
Billy, sprawled out on the floor with his arms behind his head, grinned. "I knew it. I knew she couldn’t handle it."
Alice, ever the voice of calm, smiled softly. "She really didn't say anything?"
I groaned, covering my face with my hands. "Not a word. She just... stared. "
Agatha smirked. "Stared? Honey, that woman was devouring you with her eyes."
Jen cackled. "So what’s the next move, y/n? Do we escalate?"
"I don't know!" I groaned. "She’s been weird all week, avoiding me, and now this? What does it even mean? "
Billy rolled onto his side. "It means she’s cracking."
"She’s definitely cracking," Jen agreed. "And if you play your cards right, she’ll snap soon enough."
I sighed, swirling my wine. "I don’t want to push her if she’s uncomfortable, though. If she’s really that caught up about the age thing—"
Agatha waved me off. "Oh, please. She’s not uncomfortable. She’s terrified. "
"Terrified?" I frowned.
"Terrified because she knows you could wreck her entire world, and she wouldn’t stand a chance." Agatha leaned in with a wicked smile. "And she likes being in control, doesn’t she?"
I opened my mouth to argue, but my phone buzzed, cutting through the conversation. My heart leapt into my throat.
I glanced down, and there it was.
Lilia: Let me know when you get home safe.
I stared at the screen, the words blurring slightly as my heart hammered against my ribs.
Billy sat up instantly. "Who is it?"
I swallowed hard. "Lilia."
The room erupted.
"Oh my God," Jen practically shrieked, grabbing my arm. "She texted you?! "
Agatha grinned like the Cheshire cat. "Oh, she’s gone. "
I blinked, staring at the message. "It’s just... she wants to make sure I’m okay."
Agatha snatched the phone from my hand, reading the message aloud in a dramatic tone. "Let me know when you get home safe." She gasped theatrically. "Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve entered the protective phase. "
I groaned, grabbing my phone back. "It’s not a big deal."
Jen poked me. "y/n. Babe. This is a huge deal. She’s thinking about you right now. She’s picturing you coming home, kicking off your heels, and—"
"Okay, that’s enough," I muttered, my face burning.
Billy smirked. "But seriously, what are you gonna say back?"
I stared at the message again, my fingers hovering over the keyboard. "I don’t know. What do I even say? "
Agatha leaned in with a devious grin. "Simple. ‘Wish you were here.’"
I shot her a glare. "I’m not sexting her."
Alice smiled. "You could just say, ‘I will, thanks for checking in.’ Casual, but lets her know you appreciate it."
Jen hummed. "Or... you could send a little something extra. Not too flirty, just enough to keep her thinking."
I sighed. "You guys are terrible influences."
Billy shrugged. "We know."
I rolled my eyes but typed out a response anyway.
Me: Thanks, Lilia. I will. You're sweet for checking in.
I hovered over the send button, heart racing, before pressing it.
The room watched in silent anticipation.
Billy grinned. "And now we wait."
I stared at my phone, willing it to buzz again. The coven had gone back to their usual antics. Billy was dramatically narrating the highlights of Agatha’s gallery event, Jen was critiquing the wine selection, and Agatha was lounging with a satisfied smirk, clearly pleased with her own meddling.
But me? I was glued to my screen, staring at Lilia’s last message like it held the secrets of the universe.
And then, finally, my phone buzzed.
Lilia: Please let me know if I need to send the police out.
I snorted, shaking my head. “She’s threatening to call the cops on me.”
Billy perked up. “That’s sexy.”
I sighed, typing out a response.
Me: I’m at Agatha’s, staying here tonight.
A moment later, another buzz.
Lilia: Good. Glad you’re safe.
I exhaled, a small smile tugging at my lips. But before I could even process it, another message popped up.
Lilia: How did the night go?
The coven erupted.
“Oh my God, ” Jen gasped, grabbing my arm. “She’s fishing. ”
“Grandma’s up past her bedtime, ” Agatha grinned, swirling her wine. “Probably already touching herself thinking about y/n and that red lipstick.”
I choked on my drink. “ Agatha! ”
Billy cackled, rolling onto his side. “I mean, she did see you in that dress. You think she just went to sleep after that? Hell no.”
Alice, blushing furiously, covered her face. “Oh my God, guys.”
I groaned, glaring at them. “Can you all not? She’s being nice, that’s all.”
Agatha smirked. “Sweetheart, people don’t stay up texting their employees at midnight just to be nice. ”
Jen waved a hand. “Yeah, no one’s buying that. She’s sitting at home, staring at her phone, probably replaying that double take she did when you walked out in that dress.”
Billy wagged his brows. “Lilia Calderu: palm reader by day, handsy old woman by night.”
I buried my face in my hands. “I hate all of you.”
Agatha grinned. “No, you love us. Now text her back. Be flirty, y/n.”
I peeked out from my hands. “What do I even say?”
Jen, ever the strategist, leaned in. “Keep it casual but suggestive. Something like, ‘It was good. Would’ve been better if you were there.’”
Billy gasped. “Yes, yes, YES.”
Alice shook her head. “That’s too much. Maybe just say, ‘It went well, I’ll tell you about it tomorrow.’”
Agatha snorted. “Boring.”
I sighed, staring at my phone. “Fine. I’ll go with something... middle ground.”
I typed, biting my lip.
Me: It went well. I think I made an impression.
The coven leaned in, waiting as I hovered over the send button. I rolled my eyes and hit it.
We all stared at the screen, waiting.
My phone buzzed again.
Lilia: I have no doubt you did, baby.
I froze, and the coven lost it.
I swallowed hard, my fingers trembling over the keyboard. “I think I’m going to die.”
Agatha grinned. “Not before you sext her back. ”
I stared at my phone, heart hammering in my chest, Lilia’s message practically burning into my screen.
I turned to the coven, wide-eyed and completely at a loss. “What do I say? What do I say?! ”
Alice sighed. “Keep it playful. Like, ‘Good to know my reputation precedes me.’”
Agatha smirked. “Or—and hear me out—‘I leave a mark wherever I go... want me to leave my mark on you?’”
I groaned, grabbing my phone back. “You all suck.”
Billy grinned. “And yet you keep asking for our help.”
I rolled my eyes but typed anyway, fingers trembling just slightly.
Me: Good to know my reputation precedes me.
A collective sigh of satisfaction rippled through the group as I hit send.
We all stared at the screen again. Silence. Then...
Lilia: It does. Quite the reputation, indeed.
Jen gasped. “OH. MY. GOD. ”
Agatha laughed, draping herself dramatically over the couch. “y/n, darling, you are killing her.”
I couldn’t fight the smile stretching across my lips, warmth spreading through me.
Alice giggled. “This is so cute.”
Billy nodded sagely. “It’s not cute, Alice. It’s sexy. ”
We kept chatting for a while longer, Agatha tossing out increasingly absurd suggestions that I shot down one by one, and eventually, we all crashed, smiles on our faces, hearts full, and just enough teasing to ensure I wouldn’t get a moment’s peace tomorrow.
It was so fucking early. Too early. The kind of early that felt like a personal attack.
I woke up to the sharp smell of coffee and the unmistakable sound of Billy and Jen bickering, their voices cutting through the dawn like they had no concept of time—or mercy. My brain protested every second of consciousness, but I managed to peel myself off the couch, blinking blearily.
After some groggy, half-conscious hugs and a round of mumbled promises to update each other, we all stumbled our separate ways, the world outside still drenched in that unsettling, pre-sunrise gloom.
And then... I was home. Alone.
And I was bored.
I wasn’t at the shop today, which meant I had absolutely no distractions. No tarot cards to organise, no shelves to restock, and, most importantly, no Lilia. I found myself pacing my apartment, debating whether it would be too much to text her again, but the thought made me cringe.
I needed an excuse. Something casual.
I chewed my lip, glancing at my keys. And then it hit me.
Lilia loved this little Italian pastry place across town, she mentioned it once in passing, some small hole-in-the-wall bakery that she claimed made the best sfogliatelle she’d had since leaving Sicily.
Before I could overthink it, I grabbed my coat and drove across town.
By the time I reached the shop, the Closed sign was still hanging on the door. It was early, too early for the shop to be open yet, but I knocked anyway, clutching the warm box of pastries in my hands.
A few seconds passed, and then the door creaked open.
Lilia stood there in a robe— a robe.
A silky, deep burgundy robe that clung to her in ways that made my brain short-circuit. Her dark curls were loose, tumbling over her shoulders, and she looked... soft. Sleepy.
And I was the one speechless now.
“y/n?” she murmured, brow furrowing in confusion.
I swallowed hard, trying to remember how to form words. “Uh... I brought breakfast.” I held up the box like an offering, as if that explained why I was standing outside her shop at an ungodly hour.
She stared at me for a beat, then at the pastries, and then back at me. Without a word, she stepped aside, opening the door wider.
I stepped inside, the familiar scent of the shop mingling with the faint, warm scent of her.
Lilia gestured to the small table in the corner where we usually sat with tea. “Sit,” she said softly, closing the door behind me.
I obeyed, setting the pastries down as she disappeared into the back for a moment. When she returned, she had two mugs of coffee in hand, sliding one across the table to me.
“Thought you had today off,” she said, finally breaking the silence.
I shrugged, unboxing the pastries. “I do. I just... thought you’d like these.”
Her lips twitched. “From my favorite place?”
I grinned. “I listen.”
She picked up one of the pastries, inspecting it like she was deciding if I’d done a good job. Then she took a bite, her eyes fluttering closed for a moment. “You really do listen.”
I laughed softly, watching her. “So, how’d the shop do without me yesterday?”
Lilia smirked. “It survived.”
We ate in comfortable silence for a few minutes, the tension from the night before melting into something more familiar. She asked about the gallery, my friends, the art. I told her about Billy’s ridiculous art commentary and Agatha’s smug satisfaction.
“You have good friends,” she said after a while, stirring her coffee thoughtfully.
“They’re the best,” I agreed, smiling.
She sipped her coffee, watching me over the rim of the mug with those dark, knowing eyes. “And they care about you... a lot.”
I shrugged. “I care about them too.”
Something flickered in her expression, but before I could ask, she glanced at the clock and sighed. “You should probably head back before they start wondering where you are.”
I pouted. “Are you kicking me out?”
Her lips twitched. “I’m saying your fan club will miss you.”
I rolled my eyes, taking the hint, and stood to gather my things. “Fine, fine. I’ll let you get ready to open.”
Lilia smirked, walking me to the door. “Smart choice, baby.”
I paused in the doorway, turning to her. “Thanks for letting me crash your morning.”
She leaned against the doorframe, her gaze soft but unreadable. “Anytime.”
I left with a flutter in my chest, already thinking about what excuse I could come up with to see her again.
The evening was quiet, just me and the soft hum of the TV filling the apartment. I was curled up on the couch, half-watching some crime drama, the kind where the detectives always figure things out way too fast. My mind kept drifting back to this morning, Lilia in that robe, the way she’d looked at me, the way her lips had curled around the edge of her coffee cup like she was considering something she wouldn’t say out loud.
I sighed, sinking deeper into the cushions, telling myself to stop overthinking.
And then my phone buzzed.
I glanced at the screen, expecting a text from one of the coven, but my brows furrowed at the sender.
Lilia Calderu.
I sat up a little straighter, unlocking my phone.
The message? Absolute gibberish.
“fhbgggjkkjj”
I blinked.
I stared at it.
I blinked again.
I typed back quickly.
Me: Lilia? Everything okay?
No response.
I stared at my phone, waiting.
Still nothing.
I chewed on my lip, debating if I should call her, when—
RING.
I nearly dropped the phone as Lilia’s name flashed across the screen.
I fumbled to answer, pressing it to my ear. “Lilia?”
Nothing. Just... breathing.
Shaky, uneven breathing.
And then—
A whimper.
My entire body froze.
Another sound, soft and needy, and—
A low, drawn-out moan.
I choked on air, clutching the phone so tightly my knuckles turned white. My mouth went completely dry.
There was no mistaking what I was hearing. No way.
I opened my mouth to say something— anything —but before I could, the line went dead.
I stared at the phone like it had just burst into flames in my hand.
“No. No way,” I whispered to myself, blinking rapidly.
This... this had to be an accident. Maybe she sat on her phone? Maybe—maybe she was watching a... video or something? Yeah, I thought, nodding to myself. That makes sense. Probably just a mistake.
A completely innocent, totally not deliberate mistake.
My phone stayed silent in my hands, and I sat there for about 20 minutes, just processing.
And then my phone buzzed again.
Lilia: Ignore that.
I gawked at the screen.
Ignore that?
Like it was just some minor inconvenience?
My fingers trembled as I typed back.
Me: …Okay?
There was a long pause.
Then, finally—
Lilia: Goodnight, baby.
I groaned, falling back against the couch, covering my face with my hands.
“She’s going to kill me.”
I barely slept that night. Every time I closed my eyes, I heard it, the soft whimper, the breathy moan, the way the call cut off before I could even process what was happening. My mind replayed it over and over, dissecting every second until I convinced myself it had to be a mistake.
Lilia had to have accidentally pocket dialed me. There was no way she’d do something like that on purpose. Right?
By the time morning rolled around, I was a mess, over-caffeinated, under-rested, and dreading what was going to happen when I walked into the shop.
I took a deep breath before pushing the door open, bracing myself for something, anything awkwardness, a comment, maybe even a cryptic remark about phones.
But when I walked in, Lilia was already behind the counter, counting the till like nothing had happened.
“Morning, y/n,” she said casually, not even looking up.
I froze for a second. “Uh... morning.”
She glanced up, arching a brow at my hesitation. “Are you alright?”
I stared at her, searching for any hint of discomfort or amusement anything that would give away the fact that she absolutely knew what she did last night. But she just looked... normal. Unbothered. As if she hadn’t called me in the middle of the night and—
I cleared my throat, forcing a smile. “Yeah. Just... didn’t sleep well.”
Lilia hummed knowingly. “Ah, too much excitement from your art gala adventure the previous night?”
I blinked. Was that... was that a dig? I couldn't tell.
“Something like that,” I muttered, setting my bag down behind the counter.
She straightened up and gave me one of her usual, polite smiles. “I need you to organise the crystal display today. People keep moving things around, and it’s driving me crazy.”
I stared at her, waiting for something, some sly comment, some subtle hint that she knew.
Nothing.
She just handed me a cloth and gestured toward the shelves like it was any other day.
I nodded slowly, taking it from her. “Sure. I can do that.”
Lilia’s lips quirked, and she patted my shoulder lightly. “Good girl.”
The words slipped from Lilia’s lips like they meant nothing, like they weren’t currently wreaking absolute havoc on my nervous system.
I gripped the cloth in my hands so tight I was surprised it didn’t disintegrate. My entire body was in overdrive, my brain short-circuiting in real-time, because after last night, after hearing that noise, after spending all night dissecting it from every possible angle, there was no way I could process her saying that without losing my mind.
And yet, Lilia carried on like she hadn’t just set me on fire.
She hummed to herself as she floated across the shop, rearranging candles with her usual air of elegant chaos, soft, sophisticated, yet somehow still completely kooky. She muttered something under her breath about “people putting things in the wrong places” and shot the candles a scolding look, as if they were responsible.
Meanwhile, I stood there, trying to act like my entire worldview hadn’t shifted overnight.
She didn’t know. She couldn’t know.
There was no way she had butt-dialled me on purpose, right? No way she knew what I’d heard. But what if she suspected? What if she was saying things like good girl just to watch me unravel? Was I unraveling? It definitely felt like I was unraveling.
“You’re awfully quiet.”
Lilia’s voice cut through my spiralling thoughts, and I nearly jumped, clutching the cloth like it was a lifeline.
“I’m—I'm fine,” I croaked, too fast, too awkward.
She glanced at me with a raised brow, then tilted her head, curls slipping over her shoulder in that careless, elegant way she always managed. “Mm.” Her lips quirked, amused but not prying, yet. “If you say so.”
I nodded too quickly, ducking my head and wiping the same spot on the shelf three times. Play it cool. Play it cool. She doesn’t know.
Lilia, completely oblivious to the chaos in my head, twirled one of her rings around her finger absentmindedly, watching me with a curious little smile. “You really didn’t sleep well, did you?”
I froze. Oh god. “What makes you say that?”
She shrugged, returning to fussing with the display, adjusting a vase by a fraction of an inch before stepping back with a satisfied nod. “You’ve got that look.”
“What look?” I tried to keep my voice casual, but I was fairly sure I sounded like I was moments away from combusting.
Lilia turned, resting her elbows on the counter and watching me with a thoughtful expression. “The same one you get when you’re overthinking things. Your brow does this little... crinkle.”
My hand shot up to my forehead instinctively. “It does not.”
Her lips twitched. “Oh, it does.”
I groaned under my breath, focusing aggressively on the shelf in front of me. “It’s nothing. Just... a long night.”
She hummed knowingly. “Ah, still recovering from the art gala. I imagine it was... stimulating. Those events tend to linger, don’t they.”
I choked. “What?”
Lilia blinked, completely innocent. “The art. Your friends.” She paused. “The drinks?”
I stared at her, searching for even the tiniest flicker of something, anything , that might indicate she was toying with me. But she just looked... normal. Perfectly composed. Like she hadn’t called me in the middle of the night and—
I swallowed hard, nodding. “Yeah. Stimulating.”
Lilia tilted her head, eyes twinkling. “You’re acting strange.”
“I’m not.”
“You are.” She leaned a little closer, lowering her voice conspiratorially. “Are you in trouble? Did you get up to mischief?”
My entire existence was mischief at this point. “No.”
Lilia pursed her lips, clearly not convinced, but she didn’t press. Instead, she gently adjusted the sleeve of her robe, glancing at the clock. “Well, whatever it is, baby, I’m sure it’ll sort itself out.”
There it was again. Baby. My knees nearly gave out.
I swallowed hard, gripping the edge of the shelf. Focus.
To make things worse, she strolled over, close enough that I could smell the faint scent of her, something warm, a little floral, a little spicy, something that was so Lilia it made my head spin. She picked up a crystal from the display I was supposed to be fixing and turned it over in her hands.
“This one’s nice,” she mused, running her fingers along the edges. Then, without missing a beat, she handed it to me. “For stress.”
I blinked. “I’m not stressed.”
She smiled, and it was the kind of smile that said she knew I was lying through my teeth. “Of course not.”
I took the crystal anyway, staring at it like it might offer me some divine clarity.
Lilia lingered for a moment longer, then gave a satisfied nod. “Well, I’m off to pretend I’m being productive in the back. Call if you need me.”
I watched her disappear behind the curtain, releasing the breath I didn’t realise I was holding. The second she was out of sight, I dropped my head onto the counter and groaned into my arms.
What the hell was I supposed to do with this?
She didn’t know.
And yet, somehow, it felt like she was winning a game I didn’t even know we were playing.
I sighed, rolling the crystal in my palm, muttering under my breath. “Progress. It’s progress.”
Because she wasn’t avoiding me. And if this was how she wanted to play it?
Fine. Two could play that game.
For now.

I ummed and ahhed over responding again. I'm sorry for any misunderstandings and I'm glad we got that cleared up. But I also wanted to finish my thoughts on this so it doesn't nag on me all night.
I want to clarify here that this isn't aimed at you/in response or contradiction to your post. It's just the thoughts that your reply brought up for me about this topic far more generally than just from this exchange! That said;
The 'what was it all for' is such an important line for sure!! So much of his journey is learning that the way he was taught things had to be isn't actually the case at all. And the mental recalibration that's going to require is huge.
And yeh I completely agree about him not being a sheep or wolf and learning how to not be violent & rude.
I've seen all too often and up close how this fandom (tho not uniquely) has a tendency to take characters to one extreme or another in their characterisation. It has done since 2015, I should be used to it by now. But I personally balk at the idea of that happening with Jean in any direction; violence, softness, victimhood. Any of it. None of it does his complexity justice when addressed in isolation or taken to an extreme.
And unfortunately a lot of what I've been seeing in the fandom tags seems to focus on a few cherry picked moments that people have taken and run with at the neglect of other parts that I think shed very important context or contradiction on the parts people have focused on. Even for example (and simply because it is one of the examples we discussed here) the fact that the major contributing factor in Jean swinging at Jeremy in the car wasn't anything to do with Jeremy, it was because Jean was lost in a traumatic memory about him and Kevin in the nest.
What's focused on is Jeremy touching him (and for context, not in an aggressive or invasive or even particularly surprising way it just coincided with Jean being somewhere else in his head) and the context of that moment seems to often be overlooked. Jeremy gets the blame (I'm not saying Jean should either. I don't think there IS blame here!) but I've seen a similar thing happen with other moments being discussed. People pull a single line or two out of a 3 page scene and build a moral stance off that line. It's reductive. Not only of the legitimate critical analysis of these characters and their actions/motivations but also of the thought and care and detail Nora puts into her writing! That's what my original post was about (tho I admit I worded it badly and I regret that.) the detail of that moment is what tells us what jean was actually reacting to and setting up the foreshadowing for what happens with Grayson later. The context here matters and for me at least changes how I read that interaction.
As for them 'holding on tighter' again I imagine the context of these moments is also important. I don't know which bits you're referring to specifically
But from a brief flick through the latter half of the book I found two that I think fit this description and both times it was when they were stopping him from hurting himself and holding on to make sure he was safe to be let go. Or asking him to acknowledge them so they can confirm he is safe to be left/if they can do something to help him. And the time when they see his notebooks but he isn't described resisting Jeremy's hold there, and wrenching out of that hold is descriptive of his physicality in movement not of Jeremy's restraint of him.
The one I found that I assume best fits this description is in that same scene. 'Laila moved faster than a snake to catch Jean’s wrist. How she held on when Jean flinched at her touch, Jeremy didn't know' but again the context is what's important. By this point they have all seen how Jean self harms when he slips and says something he didn't mean to. The next line after Laila's speech is literally 'In another moment he’d draw blood where his fingernails were burrowed into his cheek'.
Maybe I'm forgetting an obvious outlier of a moment where their behaviour is not explicable when in context (my reread has been sporadic and I've been distracted proof reading more recently) And absolutely I agree everyone will have their own reactions to reading behaviour like this. But personally don't fault them for not letting him self harm in front of them if that can do anything to stop it. And beyond any individual context of a scene I think it's really important for the whole fandom to remember that these characters are their own complex imperfect teens and early 20 somethings every time we see their behaviour from Jeans POV he and therefore we are missing the entire world of decisions and emotions and instincts that each of them are also working with in the face of dealing with someone who is deeply traumatised and in ways which they explicitly do not understand or know the truth of.
Back on my annotated reread of TSC and thinking abt how Jean's reaction to Laila when he hits her isn't just about being touched unexpectedly.
It's because it's his neck.
It is specifically because it's 'something warm and wet against his injured neck'.
It's because it's literally happening in the middle of a conversation in which Cat just suggested Jean meet in person with Grayson.
Like as much as people can be upset he hit her or didn't immediately apologise (also tho like. Did we read the same book? It literally has it right there that apologising is not how this kinda thing is handled in the nest. Why would Jean think to do that here??) can you really be surprised that those circumstances triggered his fight response? Like really?

Scars On My Mind (Agatha Harkness x Reader)
Tumblr media
Ever heard of the Daughters of Liberty? When Agatha appears at your doorstep covered in blood with a knitting needle peeking out of her elbow, you certainly wish you hadn’t. Here’s how it went.
Tumblr media
Content/Warnings: WitchKiller!Agatha, Hurt/Comfort, Whump, Injury, So Much Blood, Open Wound, Angst, Mild Mentions of NSFW Content, no beta we die like the Daughters of Liberty
This fic is a gift for @marril96 who made a gifset for me in return! Ily, let's swap again! It was so so so much fun to dive a little deeper into Agatha’s Witch Killer days with this, and make her a little vulnerable for once!
The rain started on Thursday night and hadn’t stopped since. A continuous drumming against your window, the world outside tainted a muddy grey. It was the earliest hours of Saturday now, Friday had passed silently without you noticing, the continuous waterfalls of raindrops on the windows not letting up to let the days pass either. The vinyl player kept playing as Friday had slipped into Saturday too, the kettle kept simmering as you prepared a boiling cup of Agatha‘s favourite tea blend. Even as the days drifted away, the world kept going. Boiling hot water turned into lukewarm turned into cold, the vinyl finished playing, spinning to a halt. The rain kept thrumming.
You sighed, leaning back on the couch, eyes fluttering shut. Agatha was late, like, even later than usually. And you were tired, sleep tugging at your bones with gradually more and more urgency.
But it was useless to go to bed, no matter how often she insisted you shan’t wait for her. You wouldn’t find much sleep anyway. Not on nights like this. When Agatha was out with other witches, when she set out to … feed? Kill? Siphon?
Well, it was hard to find any rest while she was out there like that.
She may have laughed when you’d admitted to that, throwing her leather jacket over her shoulders before pulling you into a quick kiss by your neck.
„There’s nothing to worry about, darling. I do this all the time.“
But still, as the front door to your little nyc apartment swung open and she sauntered out, chirping a „See you tonight, honey!“, over her shoulder at you, the pit in your stomach remained. The ghost of her palm on the back of your neck remained.
You sighed, taking a sip of the cold tea you’d prepared. If she wasn’t coming home in time, you certainly wouldn’t let the water go to waste.
They’d just raised the prizes for utilities on you. And while Agatha had just laughed and mentioned some inactive bank account she had in Germany that she‘d simply pull from, you couldn’t help but stress about it.
It wasn’t that you didn‘t trust her, so far every time she’d mentioned some savings from one of her many, many lives it had always been true. But just because she was an undying, centuries old witch who didn’t have to concern herself with mundane things like paying bills didn’t mean you could just shake those things off the same.
You had no magick, but you did have your name on a lease. But so far, she’d always made it work somehow, whether that be with her old account of when she lived right beside the Berlin Wall ten years ago or by selling a quick spell or curse to some unassuming person desperate enough to pay for one. You weren’t even sure if she actually performed real spells all of the time. Your Agatha was a scam artist through and through, but you wouldn’t have her any other way.
You took another sip of tea, watching the rain pour down the window. Sometimes, you wondered how many more of you there had been. Agatha was good at dodging those questions, but one night, when you wouldn’t let off even after she’d made you come undone multiple times on the couch, she’d handed you a little cardboard box.
„I try not to be traceable and I can’t exactly show you baby pictures, but some stuff just sticks.“
The contents of the box were fragile, some paper so frail you barely wanted to touch it. Little notes, handwritten poems, a few pages torn out of books. A pencil sketch of the bunny that lived in a cage beside your bed, that she always made sure to drape a blanket over before going down on you. An ink sketch of her, without the worry lines on her forehead or the little wrinkles around her eyes. But, as always, with the amulet she never took off her body.
A few photographs. Black and white on flimsy film paper, Agatha in a flapper dress, feather in her hair and a cigarillo between her lips, legs spread as she leaned back on a barstool. Agatha in the same dress, smiling over her shoulder at the camera, a dark skinned woman in a matching dress sitting beside her, raising her champagne flute at the camera.
Jenny Kale, you knew from her stories, the most brilliant potions maker Agatha had ever met. And the most annoying one. They‘d fallen off, you assumed it had something to do with Agatha‘s habit of power grabbing.
But, there was also a Polaroid.
A Polaroid that lay on the coffee table in front of you now.
A Polaroid that had not left your mind since you’d found it.
Agatha with a wild, unkempt perm and uneven bangs, black liner smudged around her eyes, in a black tank top, arm stretched out to take the picture. But, what actually caught your eye was the arm wrapped around her waist, tight enough to bunch up the fabric of her shirt, revealing a thin line of pale skin of her lower stomach. The person hugging her was out of frame, all you could see was an arm, and a shoulder pressed into Agatha‘s, and the way the witch seemed to hold back a laugh. The handwriting under the picture was messy, and the black marker had faded over the years.
For my love A.H. 1982 - We can be heroes forever and ever
And then what you‘d assumed was once a heart, but got smudged by someone touching the ink before it had dried.
It was exactly what you‘d been looking for. Proof that there had been people before you. That you weren’t her first lover in the 350 long years of her life. Of course you weren’t, that’d be foolish to assume!
But still, the find had punched a hole into your stomach that had only hollowed out the more you thought about it.
How many other people had she taken a liking to, how many non magickal people had she moved in with, let them sign leases and contracts for her as she ran off to suck the magic out of the local witch community of wherever she found herself? How long had this been going on? How long until she’d move on?
Sure, you were young now, but other than her, the clock was ticking for you. Would you just wake up one day and find her gone? And would she bother to keep your picture? And, even if all of this was nothing, why would she hide it from you? She‘d told you about Jennifer Kale, but she‘d never ever mentioned living with someone during her time in Berlin, or any era before that.
You bit your bottom lip, hissing when you tasted the metallic tinge of your own blood.
Did you want to be just another picture in her little box of memories? Did she even deem you worth remembering?
It was stupid to think like that, and you knew that, but it was harder not to let the uncertainty consume you.
But, you were smart enough never to ask her about it directly. Your wild, fierce, unapologetic witch. You loved her, you had realised that the moment her eyes met yours for the first time, and you loved everything about the chaos and the magick and the passion that she brought into your life. Maybe that was why the potential answer scared you so much. Better to keep holding onto your belief than to risk knowing you didn’t mean as much to her as she did to you. Better to live in the harmony of what you had built with her.
You wish you‘d never asked her about her prior life, had never opened the paper box. Now that you had the Polaroid in hand, it was impossible to put down.
A sound ripped you from your self deprecating thoughts. A faint scratch, just loud enough that you were sure you hadn’t imagined it. Another one. Like a dog scratching at a locked front door … or a key that kept missing the hole it belonged into, and instead kept hitting the rough wood of your door.
You sat up. „Agatha?“
No answer. Fuck.
You knew Agatha had her enemies, it was impossible to live that long without them. Hell, there was a whole coven formed of the daughters of her prior victims, a piece of information you preferred to not think about too much. After all, you saw what she was capable of, saw her cast runes around the entire apartment to keep out evil spirits, the way she glowed after siphoning, the daily use of telekinesis and the occasional prodding your mind - which she swore was to remind you to keep up the mental wards she‘d taught you, and totally not because she enjoyed the image of her that danced around your thoughts since the day you met.
Wards you made sure you had up and intakt now as you grabbed a candelabra on your way towards the front door - the first weapon you‘d spontaneously found.
Another scratch at the door, then a grunt, and a little thud, like something was falling into the wooden frame.
„Agatha?“, you asked again, louder.
Panting, whoever was on the other side of the door was breathing heavily.
Here goes nothing. You bit down on your lower lip, fingers tightening around the candelabra. Twisting the doorknob, you held your weapon high, ready to strike. The wooden door flew open, you held your breath … only to immediately let it go in a loud shriek.
In front of you was in fact Agatha, however, this was not how you had expected her to return. Her shirt was torn and ripped apart, shreds of fabric barely clinging onto her. if you hadn’t known, you would have never guessed it used to be white fabric, for it was covered in mud and dirt and … a worrying amount of blood. There was so much blood. On her clothes, her face, her head. Like someone had dumped a bucket of red over her head. Agatha herself was shaking, her body leaning against the wooden doorframe, the key she was holding in her right hand quivering with every rattling breath she took. Her left arm … your stomach twisted. Her left arm was completely bare, the sleeve ripped away at the seam, and her skin was covered in dark red crusts of dried and fresh blood. It hung useless at her side, and as she shifted from one foot to her other, you saw a single, long piece of hard plastic sticking right out of her elbow.
Your stomach twisted at the sight, and you instinctively had to reach for the wall, not trusting your knees to support your weight right now.
Agatha’s eyes were open wide, blue piercing at you as she panted, a now dried drop of blood had run right between her eyes and down her nose. She looked insane. You felt insane.
And yet, she had the nerve to cock her brows at you. „The candlestick? Seriously? Do you have any idea how much that thing is worth these days?“
Slowly, you dropped your arm, the makeshift weapon sliding out of your grip and tumbling to the floor.
Agatha winced, like that was what really caused her pain right now.
„Agatha!“, you gasped, swallowing hard.
The witch bit her bottom lip, hard, before heaving her own body closer towards the entryway, pushing for you to let her in.
„I got ambushed“, she exclaimed, even though that didn’t explain anything at all, „This little bunch was smarter than they seemed. In theory at least“, she laughed, but it only made her grit her teeth, „All the spells and curses in the world, and they stab me with a fucking knitting needle!“
You gulped. So that was the thing peeking out of her elbow.
Glassy blue eyes found you, her glare bewildered, almost panicked. „Are you done now? I would love it if we could at least move this out of the hallway, before we wake the neighbors!“
Finally, you snapped back into reality. Agatha was injured, badly, and she was also leaving stains of red on your doorframe and the „Welcome Home“ doormat in the hallway. But those were problems for later.
Right now, you needed to get her to safety. You surged forwards, grabbing her by her uninjured shoulder, pulling her right arm around your neck.
„Lean onto me“, you instructed, kicking the candelabra out of your way as you slowly guided her into the apartment.
She was cold to the touch, too cold for your liking, but she still managed to tut at you anyway. „What would you say if i kicked your hairdryer around like that?“
You let the front door fall shut behind you, other arm wrapping around her waist to support her further.
“I would say Thank You Honey for not letting me bleed out on the doormat! but you can practice that later.“
That made her snort, and you felt her entire body wince in pain.
„Stop being funny“, she hissed, her right hand digging into your shoulder as you slowly guided her towards the couch, step by step, „It hurts.“
You finally reached the plush sofa and carefully sat her down. Agatha‘s body collapsed against the cushions with a groan, her head rolling back.
„Hey!“, you snapped your fingers right in front of her face, „Sit up! Don’t you dare faint on me!“
Her eyes fluttered, and you felt panic rise in your chest. Your palms found her cheeks, cupping her face gently as you pulled her head back up, forcing her to look at you. Blue eyes blinked up at you, pupils dilating when they closed in on your face.
„Agatha“, you said, taking a deep breath more to calm yourself than her, „I‘m gonna go grab the first aid kit, but I need you to stay with me, okay? No fainting. Can you curl your fingers for me?“
Her right hand curled into a weak fist with no issues, while her left hand laid beside her uselessly. You swallowed. „Okay, keep doing that. Clench, and unclench, exactly. I‘ll be back in a second.“
She blinked twice, and a small smile found her blood covered, cracked lips. „You’re worried about me“, she drawled deliriously, healthy hand coming up to poke your side. The touch was a lot weaker than you‘d like. „That’s hot.“
You bit down on your tongue. „You’re unbelievable“, you shook your head, making sure her own head was supported by the cushions behind her before letting go, „Keep clenching your fists!“
To your relief, the first aid kit was right under the sink in the bathroom, fully stocked and ready for you. On your way back out, you grabbed a towel as well.
Agatha was still sitting up when you came back, already digging through the first aid kit as you walked, pulling out bandages, alcohol wipes, and the little bottle of superglue you kept in the kit. You sucked your cheeks in, thumb running over the little tag on it. The next fifteen minutes were going to suck.
Glassy blue eyes watched you as you spread out your new findings on the coffee table. Her breath came in heaves, but at least they were even and her chest didn’t quiver with every gush of air that surged through her lungs anymore.
„How are you feeling?“, you asked, needing her to stay awake, stay with you at any costs.
Luckily, she had it back in her to let out a humourless chuckle. „Like shit. Those bitches betrayed me like I didn‘t teach them everything they knew.“
Even as you cut open the plastic baggy holding a bandaid, you had to give her a long look over your shoulder.
„Betraying the witch that was gonna betray them? How dare they.“
Agatha opened her mouth in protest, but then you sat back up on the couch next to her, the cushions she was resting her injured arm on shifting, and instead a high, pained whimper left her throat. The sound rang through your head and you pressed your lips together, carefully positioning her arm so the needle stuck in it was facing you.
„I‘m sorry“, you took a deep breath, „You‘re not gonna like me for the next few minutes, but I need you to stay still for me, okay?“ Your eyes found hers, and you gave her a firm little nod.
„What?“, Agatha's voice was weak, brows creased in confusion, her eyes barely focusing on you. You gave her a soft smile, hand closing around the knitting needle slow and firm. „Look out the window babe“, you softly hummed and Agatha‘s head rolled to the other side, lashes fluttering.
„Don’t turn around“, you said. But of course, she immediately turned back.
“The window Agatha!“, you sighed exasperated, not waiting for her to listen this time.
„Okay, one, two…“ Before you could say the next number, you gritted your teeth. With one firm tug, the knitting needle slid right out of her open wound.
Agatha screamed, flinching under your firm grip, head thrown back against the couch.
The needle made a wet sound as you pulled it out that made your stomach turn. Thick, red liquid was stuck to the plastic as well as fresh blood immediately pooling out of the wound at her elbow.
You quickly pressed the towel onto it, gripping Agatha’s arm tight so she couldn’t pull away, even as she screamed. The whimpers leaving her throat echoed through your bones, and you had to bite down on your cheek harder.
„I‘m sorry baby“, you pressed out, glancing over at her face. Fresh, salty tears ran down her face, parting the dried crusts of blood on her cheeks. She was biting down on her tongue, hard enough to draw blood, holding back her sobs as best as she could.
„Fuck you“, she sobbed weakly, eyes closed shut and you had to chuckle.
„That’s okay. Let it out.“, you hummed, pressing the towel down onto the wound with one hand. The pale blue fabric was quickly soaking up red, and you had to act fast, worried she was going to lose too much blood.
With your free hand you reached for the superglue, the lid already off, clear, stale liquid at the tip.
„I have to do one more thing that you‘re not gonna like“, you said, keeping your grip on her arm tight as she tried to pull away.
„No! Stop! That’s enough!“, she yelped and it took everything in you to stay firm. The wound needed closing, no matter how much it would hurt.
„Agatha!“, you held her tight, giving her a firm stare that held no room for discussion. When you saw the way her bottom lip was quivering despite her pushed forward chin, your voice softened.
“I‘m trying to help you. Just one more thing and you‘re done, I promise.“
Agatha swallowed hard, leaning towards you.
You let her, gently pressing your forehead to hers.
„That was scary“, she murmured, „They were so smart about it. Didn’t blast me once. Instead…“, her shoulders twitched in an attempt to shrug, the sharp pain causing her to wince.
„Instead you came home with a knitting needle in your arm“, you nodded, craning your neck. Your lips brushed over her forehead, the bittersweet mix of mud and blood on your tongue as you pressed a gentle kiss right over the crease she always pulled when she was in pain, but trying to be brave about it.
„This was terrifying, but you’re being so strong“, you leaned back again, enough to look her in the eyes one more time, „Let me close the wound and then it‘ll be over, I promise.“
And she let you.
As you pulled the towel away to inspect the wound closer, Agatha looked the other way, her right hand coming up to her mouth as you pulled the skin together. As you dropped the clear glue down onto the gash, pulling it closed with one hand and handling the bottle of superglue with the other, she let out another blood curdling scream, muffled only by her teeth digging into her own hand. But, it worked. The moment the liquid began to thicken, the bleeding stopped.
It took all the alcohol wipes of the kit to get her arm cleaned up, working quickly and in silence, knowing well not to talk to Agatha as hot tears ran down her cheeks. You made sure to save a wipe for the bite mark on her right hand too, and then once you were positive all of her injuries were cleaned, you finally reached for the bandaids.
By the time she was all patched up and in clean clothes (you‘d thrown her bloody shirt and all towels it had taken to get the muck off her face into the bathtub, a problem for later), the two of your curled up underneath a blanket, her healthy shoulder squeezed up against yours, the sun was coming up.
Finally, it had stopped raining too.
The two of you had shared a can of microwaved ravioli, and slowly but surely, the color was returning to Agatha‘s cheeks. You wrapped your arm tighter around her, nose nuzzling into the crown of her head. Her hair still smelled of metal and cinder, but that didn’t bother you right now. What mattered was that she was still with you, that her body was warm against yours and her breathing even.
The blanket rustled as she shifted in your hold, right hand coming up to rest over yours.
„Now.“, Agatha took a long breath, thumb running over your knuckles as she held your hands in hers. Finally, she seemed fully back to consciousness.
„Tell me why you‘ve been pondering all night instead of sleeping like I told you to.“
„What?“, your brows furrowed, tilting your head to the side in confusion as you glanced down at her.
Agatha nodded towards the coffee table, blue eyes fixed on a specific object scattered between the leftovers of your once organised and stacked first aid kit. „I doubt you‘re using that as a bookmark.“
Between scissors and a piece of bandage you‘d cut off, there was still the Polaroid you‘d taken from the box of her private possessions. Now, there was a single drop of blood on it, right above the black marker writing.
„Oh my god!“, you quickly reached for it, „I‘m so sorry, I‘ll clean that off!“
Before your hand could reach the photo, Agatha‘s unharmed arm lunged forward, hand closing around your wrist. Despite how pale she still looked, she pulled you back to her with no trouble, wrapping the blanket around you two tighter. Injury or not, there was still magick power running through her veins.
„Darling“, her pale eyes found yours, „Look at me.“
You didn’t dare break the eye contact she established, even though it was the last thing you wanted to do right now, ears hot with embarrassment.
„Have you been thinking about that?“ she asked, and you knew exactly what she meant. Her long, long life before you, the nature of your relationship. The only thing on your mind for days now.
„I mean, it‘s stupid!“, you shook your head „It’s naive to think I‘m something special, you’ve had such a long life already,“ you poked her side, „Even though that‘s hard to believe right now.“
Agatha‘s hoarse chuckle made you smile despite everything weighing on your mind.
„I‘m going to stop you right there.“
With her healthy hand, she tried to push herself up, eyes fluttering shut as she groaned in pain. You instinctively reached for her shoulders, helping her sit up and lean against the sofa cushions.
Her hand found your cheek, palm gently cupping your cheek.
„You are something special“, her voice was low and you swallowed hard.
„Do you think I could do this with just anyone? I was just bleeding out on your couch.“ Her eyes found yours, giving you a firm little nod. „Have there been others? Of course. A witches lifespan depends on her powers, and I‘m not exactly the type other witches want around for long. It can get lonely.“ Her lips pursed into a little smirk, brows rising. „But thanks to you, it‘s not. And thanks to you, it won’t end just yet either.“ She chuckled, raising her bandaged elbow with a sharp inhale.
Your hold on her shoulders tightened just the smallest bit, holding her upwards. Her thumb ran over your cheek, and you couldn’t suppress your smile at the touch.
„What I am saying is yes, there have been lovers before you. But that does not diminish your presence in my life, and it does not make you any less special. To be quite honest, you‘re the first person to have pulled a knitting needle out of my elbow.“
She let out a little laugh and soon, you joined in. Agatha‘s hand tugged at the back of your neck, and you willingly let her pull you into a sweet, gentle kiss. Her lips brushed against yours with the familiarity of someone who had practiced plenty, pushing her chin forward into the kiss like she knew you loved her to do, and you let out a little laugh in return, teeth grazing over her bottom lip just the slightest bit. Exactly the way that made her groan, pull you in tighter, kiss you with more and more fervour, until you’d bite down on her plump lip for real.
But not right now. You pulled away before she could coax you into something more, giving the shoulder of her injured arm a gentle tap as you raised your brows at her.
„Not now Agatha! You literally almost died today.“
She let out an exasperated sigh, but then opted to wrap her healthy arm around your waist instead, pulling you closer. „But I didn’t, thanks to you.“
You gave her a warning glare but obliged as she pulled you into her lap, arm wrapped around you and your hands resting on her shoulders. She leaned forward, lips grazing over your neck just enough to make you gasp before nuzzling her face in the crook of your neck and shoulder, a spot she had found she fit perfectly into one time while napping and loved ever since. Your hands found her hair, fingers slowly running through the thick, dark waves falling down her back. She hummed against your neck at the feeling, and you felt your heart swell at the sound. Even if all of this was fleeting, at least right now, you could provide a safe space for her.
You pressed a gentle kiss to the crown of her head, inhaling the faint scent of the lavender oil she liked to brush through her hair.
Even if you were but a fleeting moment in her life, maybe in 10, 20 years she‘d think back to you and miss the way her nose perfectly nuzzled into the crook of your neck.
“I love you, Agatha“, you whispered, so quiet, you could barely hear it yourself, „Try not to get killed while I‘m still around.“
If she heard you, she didn’t answer.
You pulled her even tighter.
