We’re Okay
Soren x Corvus
Summary - Corvus and Soren see each other for the first time since the events of We All Fall Down
Word Count - 424
Warnings - Fluff, hurt/comfort ig??? It’s really just comfort
Season 6 spoilers ahead. Set in season 7. BTW I’ve been imagining Katolis sets up a New Lux Aurea kind of situation.
Soren trudged through the camp that now housed all of Katolis. He moved slowly with his head hung low, limping due to his injuries sustained in the dragon attack. Opeli had begged him to rest, but he’d argued that as crown guard it was his duty to make sure all survivors had their needs met in the king’s absence.
A yell rang out ahead of him, “SOREN!” He raised his head to see Corvus, throwing himself off Pyrrah and sprinting towards him.
Despite his injuries Soren managed a weak run, meeting Corvus at the camp’s entrance. Corvus crashed into him and wrapped his arms around him, nearly sending both men tumbling to the ground. Soren returned the hug, breathing into Corvus’s shoulder.
“You’re alive! I–I heard about the castle and I thought. . . I wasn’t sure If you– I mean–” Corvus, teary eyed, pushed himself off Soren enough to look at him. His hands traveled upwards, cupping Soren’s face. “Your face is all cut up! Are you okay?”
“I’m fine! I just got a little banged up! I’m okay. . .” He shifted his hands hold onto Corvus’s arms for support. “I’m two-for-two on surviving dragon attacks. Pretty impressive, right?” He asked, raising an eyebrow.
Corvus beamed. “Very.” Something like an idea flashed in his eyes, then doubt. Clearly he paid it no mind, because suddenly he pulled Soren into a kiss.
Soren went stiff for a moment. This was very unexpected.
Although, when he thought about it. . .
The way their friendship had grown as fellow crown guards. . .
Their adventures with the mushroom mage. . .
Corvus’s hands right now, holding his face oh so gingerly. . .
No, yeah, he absolutely should have seen this coming.
He relaxed into Corvus’s touch, kissing him back softly. When they pulled away he was bright red, but Corvus just smiled warmly.
Soren squeaked out an, “Oh!” as he stared at Corvus. “You know I wasn’t entirely expecting that.”
Corvus’s smile wavered, and in a panic Soren kissed him again, this one shorter but just as sweet. “Not mad about it though! For the record.”
Corvus breathed a sigh of relief and dropped his hands, hugging Soren again and speaking into his chest. “I was so, so scared that you might not have made it out,” he whispered.
Soren held him close, one of his hands making its way into Corvus’s hair. “I’m okay! I got out. it’s–” His breath hitched. “It’s okay. We’re okay, Corvus.”
I’m so ill for them

I've been kind of hesitant to voice this analysis/theory because honestly even I find it hella depressing, but... here goes.
At the end of s6e5: "Moonless Night," we have this kind of cryptic sequence with Viren:
Now, this isn't exactly subtle. It starts with a callback to Aaravos's "the human mage, already tainted by darkness and destined to play right into my hands," line (and a nice Callum > fake pearl > real pearl > Viren cut sequence) and ends with the kind of spider-and-fly imagery you bust out when you want the audience to really get the point. This sequence tells us in no uncertain terms, Aaravos will inevitably use Viren again... at least one more time.
I say it's cryptic because the eventual payoff is a lot more subtle, particularly since everything escalates so rapidly and is actually presented as a crazy, unexpected twist. Basically, there's no follow-up until s6e8: "We All Fall Down," where we have a highly specific series of events:
Sol Regem, under Phaaravos's direction, attacks Katolis
Viren decides to make the sacrifice of both doing dark magic again and losing his own life to protect the people from Sol Regem's fire
Viren successfully casts the spell and the people are protected
Phaaravos does this:
Once Viren has cast the spell (and is probably dying), Aaravos is pleased and ends Sol Regem's attack.
Aaravos needs three things to free himself: the pearl, the staff, and a sympathetic mage. He can't just possess Callum and free himself at the start of the season, because—whether that would work or not—he doesn't have the staff. He knows, however, that Viren is going back to Katolis, so he can influence Callum to switch the real and fake pearls. Then, when Viren arrives, the pearl and the staff are lined up... but Viren is no longer sympathetic (and possessing him wouldn't really do any good because like, come on... he's in prison).
The way that the attack on Katolis plays out gives him everything: the pearl and staff are abandoned in the chaos, leaving them free for Claudia. Viren, being dead, is also now unable to influence Claudia directly—not to mention that, despite what he told her in s6e1, he chose to do dark magic again.
There are several reasons that could be behind Phaaravos's smarmy little smirk there—either he's satisfied that the staff is in play and will be easily accessible to Claudia instead of buried under a castle's worth of rubble, or he's satisfied that Viren is going to die and that removes what could actually have been a very serious obstacle to Claudia's persistence, or... he's pleased that Viren has caved and done dark magic again, whether because that's leverage he can use with Claudia, or for a more insidious reason.
We can stop here, because "Aaravos uses Viren's loyalty to his family and Katolis to manipulate him to his death and to set up his daughter for digging herself deeper in aiding his own return" is honestly plenty of payoff as far as Aaravos "using" Viren a final time. BUT just to get a little tinfoil-hat, here:
How exactly are we supposed to understand the pearl got from the subterranean secret dark magic workspace to outside in the ground-level courtyard... except by Aaravos walking the dying Viren down there to bring it back out, then neatly arranging pearl, staff, and Dad's dead body in close proximity for Claudia's homecoming? Which is pretty fucking grim.
As a counterpoint, the one thing this series sometimes plays extremely fast and loose with is the space-time continuum: like, working out travel times? Good fucking luck—it takes exactly as long to get somewhere as the plot demands, regardless of distance, terrain, or mode of transportation. So "how did the pearl get into the courtyard" could just be one of those "how did Soren and Claudia get up the Cursed Caldera without Lujanne knowing"-situations where the answer is "it's fine, don't think about it."
Sure, the staff, pearl, and Viren's body are all suspiciously accessible, but we also don't have screentime for Terry and Claudia to do an extensive search of the rubble overlaid with sad music and intercut with flashbacks. Sometimes shit just has to be convenient so we can move along... but I'll probably still always kind of wonder.

Deepest Depths (1/4)
In which Callum hatches a plan that will save them all, but doom himself. And Soren decides to save him from that doom at his own expense. Blame @adashulaz for this angsty mess of a fic.
“There is another option.” Callum says, and hopeful faces turn to him from every corner of the table. But the optimism in their eyes dies as soon as he brings out the unicorn’s horn and sets it on the table. Soren himself shivers, knowing now what those can do. And the blood that was spilled to wrest it from Aaravos’ grasp.
“Callum.” Rayla says, voice hollow. “People died.”
“And that’s exactly why we should use it.” he says, earnest. Desperate. “So that their sacrifices mean something. We all know what Aaravos is capable of now. What he’s really capable of. With this-” he hefts the horn again, offering it to the table. Several people flinch away. “-I could cast a spell to get rid of him. For good, this time.”
“The spell that killed Avizandum.” Ezran says, voice ringing through the silence that had descended as soon as Callum finished speaking. “That’s how this started. It’s not how we’re going to end it. That spell is evil.”
“It could kill Aaravos, permanently. Isn’t that what we’re trying to do?” Callum argued, turning on his brother. Soren hated to see them fight like this, especially when they needed each other most.
“Yes, but I’m not going to let us become monsters to do it.” Ezran told his brother.
“So you’re calling King Harrow a monster?”
It was like a slap in the face to the young king, and Soren knew that Callum would regret it later. He stepped forward, putting himself physically between them before things could escalate anymore than they already had.
“Let’s all just cool it.” he said, arms out, forcing them both to step back.
Rayla backed him up, placing a gentle hand on Callum’s shoulder. “This isn’t going to help anything.” she murmured in his ear, quiet enough that Soren only barely heard her. The mage deflated somewhat, shoving the unicorn horn back into his satchel.
“I’m just saying we should consider it.”
“No.” Ezran said with a shake of his head. “I won’t.”
“Fine.” Callum snapped. He turned and stalked off, and after a moment Rayla followed, casting an apologetic glance over her shoulder at Ezran. The young king turned away, unable to look at either of them. Things had been strained between them since Runaan, even without this.
Once the pair of them had gone, Ezran resumed the meeting; acting as though the conversation had never happened. Everyone followed his lead, unable to do much else, though Soren caught a few anxious glances passing around the room. More than the castle was crumbling, he thought. Their resolve was too. They could only take so much more of this before it broke entirely. Callum and Ezran needed to be working together instead of against each other.
To that end, he went to find the High Mage once the meeting had adjourned; no more fruitful than any of the others they had held over the last couple weeks. Thankfully Callum and Rayla weren't hard to find; Soren could hear their voices trailing out of the library from all the way down the hall.
"-he'd thank me later." Callum was saying. Soren could hear the distinct clip of his stride as he paced back and forth as he spoke. "They all would. I'd be doing them a favor."
"Callum, even if it wasn't that spell in particular, it wouldn't work."
"I know that dark magic is bad-"
"Not just that." Rayla cut in. "Callum. You would die."
Soren stopped short, hand hovering over the doorknob. He let it fall to his side, instead peering through the small crack in the door they had left, the door not entirely closed. Rayla was leaning against a bookshelf only a few feet away, arms crossed over her chest. Callum had stopped his pacing to turn to her, eyes determined.
"Rayla, you made me promise to do the right thing. To make the sacrifice. If this is what it takes to win, to protect you and Ez, then it's what I have to do."
"That's not what I-"
"You're not the only one who's willing to sacrifice everything, Rayla. You know if things were different you'd make the same call."
She couldn't argue and Callum knew it. "So it's settled then. Tomorrow morning you and I set out. I'll cast the spell, and you'll make sure it hits it's mark. For Katolis. For the world." his determination wavered. "For Ez."
"What if-" Rayla began, but Callum cut her off with a shake of his head.
"It won't work, I already thought of that." he said, frustrated. "The Dark Magic, it hits you almost immediately after the spell is cast. If you do it, then you won't be able to make sure the weapon finds it's mark. You're the warrior, Rayla. So let me be the mage. Remember?"
"Callum-" she tried to protest, but his voice just climbed higher to drown her out, rising in pitch and anger.
"The warrior and the mage, Rayla. This was always how it was meant to be. The warrior and the mage will pierce of the heart-"
"I know the dumb prophecy, Callum." Rayla snapped, voice rising to meet his.
"-and melt the threat forever." he finished, putting extra emphasis on the last word. "Forever, Rayla."
"That's not what it was about, Callum." Rayla argued. Soren, still glued to the door, could almost hear their voices morphing into those of his mother and father. Saw their shadows moving under the door like he'd seen theirs; angry and arguing, and him, outside, looking in and unable to fix it. Unable to understand. If they loved each other, then why…
But he understood now. It was because they had loved each other. But Dark Magic had driven them apart. Pain had driven them apart; grief, fear.
It was all that filled the halls, now. You could feel it all around you; fear and pain and loss. And darkness. Not Dark Magic, maybe. Not yet. But soon that would make it's home here as well. His own name called Soren back to the present and made him lean against the door again, peering through the crack at the pair of them.
"Soren... do you think he still loves Viren?" Callum was asking, turning to Rayla. He was holding a book now, one that Soren remembered well. It was one of his father's.
Rayla, she'd stepped away from the bookcase during the heat of the argument and now paced across the opposite side of the room, turned to look at him. "Callum?"
"It's for the spell." he explained. "We need blood filled with hatred, but not just any blood, the blood of someone who loved the victim. And after what Astrid told us about the pearl being here, well, Viren is the closest we have to a victim right now. I already managed to find the rest."
Rayla's back was to the door, so Soren couldn't see her expression, but she hunched her shoulders in as she answered; "Even after Runaan tried to kill me, even after Ethari made me a ghost, I still loved them, Callum. It made that love hurt, but it didn't go away. They're my family. I'll always love them. No matter what they've done."
Callum let the book fall shut, turning to her. They shared a long glance until, finally, Rayla looked away first.
"It's settled then." Callum said, voice final. "We go in the morning. At first light, so Ezran can't stop us. I'll ask Soren right before we go, in case he sides with Ez. If he says no, then we'll figure something else out."
Callum tucked the book into his satchel as he crossed the floor to Rayla then, taking her hands in his. "I love you, Rayla. Nothing will ever change that. Not even tomorrow. Just know that, somewhere in me, I’ll always love you."
A small, stifled sound like a sob escaped Rayla's lips and Callum pressed his forehead to hers. Soren stepped away from the door, feeling even more like an intruder. But not before he caught the next thing Callum said.
"If we succeed and he’s gone, and I mean really gone, then he won't be able to use me; even if I do use Dark Magic again. Maybe... maybe I can find my way back to you. I'll fight to get back to you with everything I have, Rayla. I promise."
Soren left them to their grief.
He couldn't sleep that night, or more, he could; but every time he closed his eyes, half-formed visions played behind his eyelids. Rayla, crouched over Callum's fallen form, shaking him and begging him to wake up. Ezran, tears gathering in his eyes, the horrible surety filling them as he realized that Callum had gone before he awoke. The statue that would stand in the Valley of Graves long after all of them were dead and buried.
Soren had known Callum for most of his life; grown up with him and watched him become the man he was today. He was proud of the mage, who was like a brother to him. But with that knowledge came recognition; he had seen that look in Callum's eyes a thousand times before and knew what it meant. When Callum set his mind to something, really set his mind to it, there was no stopping him; even if that thing he'd chosen was his own death. Soren figured that was why Rayla hadn't argued any more than she had; they both knew Callum well enough to know it would be pointless.
But the same way that Soren knew he couldn't stop Callum, he also knew what he had to do. He had known when he followed them to the library, he now realized. Before he even heard the first whisperings of their plan. But there was one problem with Soren's new solution; Callum was right. If he cast the spell, then the dark magic would make him go all wobbly long before he could get it to Aaravos. Unless...
Soren sat up, looking down at his hands; clenching and unclenching them. Felt the air filling his lungs with every breath. This wasn't the first time he'd been exposed to dark magic. It was a part of him. He was a dead man walking. None of the others knew that, of course. How did you bring it up in casual conversation? But maybe if Callum had known, he would have changed his plan. Maybe Soren could cast the spell and deliver the killing blow, all on his own.
It was too late to ask Callum that now, though. He'd become suspicious immediately. And it was too late to know if the twisted, horrible feeling in his chest was love for his father or hate. He would just have to hope it would work.
Soren donned his armor with newfound purpose, or more, a purpose that had always been there, but he had only now accepted. He was a Crownguard. This was what he did. My heart for Katolis, he thought. My life for the royal family.
His footfalls were quiet, quieter than they’d ever had to be before, as he crept down the hall and into Callum's study. Thankfully he had gone to sleep with Rayla tonight, so Soren was able to disregard stealth in favor of speed as he searched for the satchel and it's contents. He found it hanging off the back of a chair; and upon opening it, was relieved to see that everything he would need was already there. He picked the book up just in case, flipping through until he found the spell that had, as Ezran had put it, started this all.
A unicorn horn, blood filled with hatred, and-
Soren stopped. lifting the small, empty appearing glass jar from the satchel even as he read the words. A dying breath.
His own breath caught in his throat at the realization of what must be contained right behind that glass. Soren knew that Callum's mastery of the sky arcanum had only grown in recent years, and that, he supposed, meant mastery over air itself. But to think that he had found the place it happened and-
Soren squeezed his eyes shut, willing himself not to feel anything. Not to admit that maybe this was too far, too dark a spell. After all, what choice did they have?
He tucked the jar back into the satchel alongside the other components, marking which page held the incantation. Then he slung it over his shoulder and he left.

In Absentia: Chapter 4
Summary: Callum and Rayla thought their plan to defeat Aaravos was dangerous, but worth the risk.
Unfortunately, they hadn’t anticipated this.
Now, Rayla has to try and figure out how she’s going to free Callum from Aaravos possession, while she has another growing problem to deal with.
Pairing: Rayla/Callum
Rating: Mature
AO3 Link: In Absentia
“Morning,” Rayla took her seat at the breakfast table, struggling to make eye contact with those assembled. She had barely slept the night before, her mind a constant storm of thoughts and worries and ideas.
“Morning Rayla.” Ezran was optimistic and up-beat as was his way, though a little less so these days. “How are you feeling today?”
Rayla shrugged, quickly glancing at him as she reached for some of the bread in the middle of the table. It was obviously an innocent question, any friend would ask it of another who’d just fainted the day before, one who seemed to have developed a pattern of fainting, but it still felt loaded, as if Ezran could read her tangled thoughts. She wondered if some mouse or something had perhaps overheard her and her mother, before dismissing the thought. Even if she had been overheard by some animal, Ezran would never pry into her personal life like that.
“Are you sure you should be up? You look awful,” Soren asked, a skeptical look on his face.
“Thanks Soren,” Rayla rolled her eyes, snorting in amusement when Corvus smacked Soren in the upper arm.
“You do look pale, Rayla,” Ezran frowned at her. “Did you call the physician? Maybe-”
“It’s fine.” Rayla shook her head rapidly, wanting to shut down conversation about her condition as quickly as possible. “I’m fine, honestly. I just haven’t been eating properly since-” Biting her lip, she pushed thoughts of Callum and his predicament away for now. “I’m going to remind myself to eat more, I promise.”

a/n: sometimes i don't realize how much my autism has affected my life / relationships and then it slams into me. a ficlet
It's been an hour since the spat at negotiations, for lack of a better term—Opeli still winces when she thinks of the sharpness in the young prince's voice, straightening out his Evenere green robes with a finicky flourish—and Ezran had requested to be alone for the break.
Opeli had obliged him, not pleased he'd wanted distance from even Soren and Corvus when they had visiting nobles and servants over, but so long as they stood guard at wherever he'd gone, she couldn't really find it in her to object. Being king could be overwhelming even if you weren't eleven years old.
It's nearing the time negotiations will re-commence, though, and... she can't find him.
He's not in the kitchens, or one of the smaller dining halls he likes to use with Soren and Corvus. He's not with Callum, who went to the courtyard to sketch, a worried crease in his brow (he'd checked on his brother—you alright, Ez?—talked down the prince, but Ez had shooed him off).
Opeli is beginning to despair that maybe he's run off into one of the remaining secret passageways, or even gotten stuck somewhere, when she spots Soren and Corvus standing in front of the library doors. Corvus seems as troubled as Callum, Soren catching her eye and arm when she moves to go inside.
"I think he's having a rough time," Soren says softly. "You might wanna..."
"I don't know if we can delay the next meeting any further," Opeli says apologetically. He releases her, nodding but unhappy about it, and she pushes open the door.
It takes a few moments, peering through the tall aisles of shelves and one or two alcoves, but eventually she finds the young boy king in one of the armchairs tucked away in a corner, a book open in his lap. And in truth, Opeli hears him before she sees him, because Ezran is... crying.
Big fat tears rolling down his cheeks in ways she hasn't seen since they completed King Harrow's memorial statue based off Prince Callum's sketches, or since those early, overwhelming weeks of being king once the Moonshadow elf had left... Bait's not in his lap either, pawing at his thigh but otherwise ignored, which isn't like Ezran either; so much so, Opeli stops right in her tracks.
"I'm, er—" She starts, then stops. He's clearly not okay so there's no point in asking. She eases onto her knees instead beside his armchair, unsure of how to proceed until she knows what's distressing him. It's not far from the anniversary of the attack, so maybe...? "I'm afraid the meeting is going to resume, soon, King Ezran."
He sniffles, looking briefly at her and then just starting at the floor, his eyes hardening. He doesn't move. He doesn't even wipe away his tears.
She purses her lips. "Ezran?"
Finally he looks at her, his face contorting—livid like she's never seen. "I don't know how to do this, Opeli."
"King Ezr—"
"Prince Erik asked for more information, so I gave it, and then he snapped at me and—I just don't understand!" Ezran cries, tiny fingers curling into fists. His eyes go wide with frustration, searching for something he can't find. "I don't get it. We've always had these trade deals and they worked fine, and this new one is the exact same, but now the policy's a problem? And when I pointed out it's just like the old ones, he said it just feels like Evenere needs something different even though those things are there for a reason—and no one cares about the reason but me!"
Opeli reaches for his arm. "Ezran—"
He stands, pacing. "And then when I explain those reasons, it's like... I knew as a kid the other kids didn't like me because I talked too much, and I was boring about wanting to talk about bugs or animals, or—so I just... I tried so hard to use less words and always say what I mean, but people still didn't get it, or like it." He pressed his palms to his eyes, tears leaking out underneath. "And it's the same damn thing in court, I don't—at the last Summit, Prince Erik didn't mind how much I talked because we were agreeing on policy, but now that we disagree I-I can't, for some reason? I'm just trying to explain, but he thinks I'm being condescending, but I don't think I'm smarter than him, I don't, I try so hard to say things right and I just don't know how —"
"Ezran." She takes him by the shoulders and he looks up at her, red-eyed with a runny nose. She takes a deep breath for her own measure, reaching up to wipe away some of his tears. "The prince, as many do, have an ego. You are doing your—"
"Well yeah, some people are jerks like him. But most people aren't, and I still can't... Why can't people just know you value them? Why do I have to remember to spell it out every time? Why do I have to read their mind and know what they need without them telling me? If I'm listening it's because I think we can reach common ground... Because the respect is already there. And I try so hard to explain so we can just reach common ground, but people just—they don't see that. And I don't know how to make them see that. I came up here to read hoping I'd find something so I can understand where His Highness is coming from, but it still doesn't make sense to me, and... I'm so tired, Opeli."
Gods, she wishes she had a better answer for him. She gives his shoulders a tiny squeeze, and then reaches up and takes off his crown. "Go to the gardens for the rest of the day," she says. "With your crownguard, or your brother, or both. Down by the town. I'll tell the prince and his delegates you're not feeling well."
Ezran's eyes shine as she presses the crown into his hands. "But—"
"No buts. It's like you said: you're tired. You deserve rest." Opeli offers up a tiny smile. "Go on."
Ezran steps away, bottom lip trembling, and then throws his arms tightly around her in the middle. They've never hugged before, she thinks, but she hugs him back now, rubbing his shoulders gently.
"Thank you, Opeli," he mumbles, some of the last tears fading. "'M sorry I'm so..."
She shushes him quietly. "You're a very special boy, my king. Not everyone is going to understand that. And I know it hurts, but not everyone needs to. Just keep... being yourself. We all love you here. You know that, don't you?"
He pulls back slowly, not smiling, but not looking nearly as worn down as before. He tucks his crown under one arm, and picks up Bait with the other. He has one last big sniffle. "Yes. I do."

Episode 9 & the season overall
MEEEEEH
Do I need to say more?
Like yes, fine, overall, it's not as bad as the previous two seasons. Overall, this was the best season since season 2.
But let's be honest, it's not some high benchmark to clear.
Structurally, this episode's problem is that it's the final episode yet it has the structure of an early-in-season episode. It solves a personal issue of Rayla and it deals out Aaravos's backstory, and it even recaps early seasons! If not for Aaravos's return in the end, this could've been the first episode of the last season. It still could've been, just move his return one episode earlier and the rest could stay the same. No reason Aaravos can't explain his backstory to Claudia after she lets him out. The whole "cast spell with love" was a bullshit excuse.
But the most prevalent issue of this whole series is its refusal to put its heroes through any meaningful trials or tribulations. Any time they have any meaningful choice to make, the story ultimately makes it so they don't have to pay the cost. Some examples:
Rayla decides to lose her hand instead of killing Ezran - Zym just breaks her hand-cutting bracelet.
Callum decides to use dark magic and regrets it - he just gets primal magic he can use with clear conscience. He arguably chooses wrong and then he's still given the good magic in reward.
That also entirely nullifies his initial choice of "use dark magic or have no magic." He just gets good magic.
Claudia kills a deer to heal Soren's legs and in the end... Nothing? She gets ugly I guess? Soren is perfectly fine, it doesn't matter that such a powerful dark magic was used on him, at most it's Claudia who bears the cost, and it's not clear what "looking ugly" really does, if anything at all.
The Dragon Mom ignores her injury and pretends she's fine - when she stops being fine she just stumbles across a healer by accident.
Or just this season:
Callum gets healed from using dark magic by a ritual. They say it's dangerous but eh, it seemed pretty easy, half an episode and done, and he's fine and has his primal magic. No cost.
Rayla thinks she'll have to choose who to save, but in the end her parents are at peace and happy to go. She doesn't really have to choose, she just goes with what the other people choose.
The Sun Queen strikes out at her brother's forces and in the end nothing happens to her lol. That whole Z plot line was ultimately a nothingburger. The big sun dragon wasn't even needed to release Aaravos. You could've entirely cut it out and just have Claudia sneak into the castle to get the egg!
And so on and so on. And it's just so tiring, because we're dangled nice stuff in front of us, like a possession arc, but then nothing happens.
Claudia just lets Aaravos out like she's intended for three full seasons. It's just dull. It's boring! It's, well, it's the definition of meh.
Guys tell me, seriously, am I the weird one? Is it weird for me that I expect the heroes to have to deal with complex issues and hard choices, and not the villains? Am I asking for too much?
Because it feels like the creators had some nice epic pictures in their heads, like Katolis burning or a big battle among the Sun Elves, but they just can't or won't commit to them. They don't write a meaningful story to accompany those pictures. All the heaviness is put on the antagonists, while the heroes, if they have any issues, typically resolve them within one episode - like the Sun Queen had a one episode long "arc," but she just had to listen to a story and she's perfect and flawless again! Callum's arc of struggling with dark magic and possession is the only such one, and it still came to an anticlimactic, easy end with the cleansing ritual.
Yes, the show can still do something with it. If I had more trust in this series and its writing, I'd say that sometime in the next season, Callum is going to use dark magic to save Rayla, breaking his promise, and then she'll be unable to kill him, breaking her promise, and they'll need to put themselves back together and come back from that.
But... I don't have any trust in this series at this point. They used false advertising in the trailer! There wasn't any scene with Callum having black eyes this season, yet they even used it as a thumbnail?
So with my zero faith in the writing of TDP, I'm presuming there will come a moment when it'll look like Callum might use dark magic again, but he'll then refuse and instead of suffering any consequences, he and others will be promptly rescued by someone, like maybe the Dragon Mom coming back during the final battle or something like that.
Because the heroes just got to choose right and they'll suffer no consequences for it. I guess the moral of the story is "just be good and things will work out on their own." In other words... "trust in God/Fate."
Amazing. That's exactly the message to teach kids, instead of "sometimes doing good is hard but it's still worthwhile" or "be smart and creative and you'll find a solution" or idk a hundred other messages this show could've had.
Like seriously, the setup where humans don't have inborn magic and elves do is such an amazing one. It could've been a story about humans outsmarting elves, about figuring out other ways to use magic, about not letting their lack of power put them down.
But nooo. Instead it's a story about those born powerful being always good and beautiful, and only a couple of them are bad apples - usually because they're deceived by one particularly bad apple. And if you're born without power (privilege, khy khy) you should just accept it and you'll be rewarded by fate/those with power.
This show is progressive?

Oh boy oh boy if you're taking ficlet requests, how about Opeli making sure Soren doesn't collapse of exhaustion while he's supervising rescue efforts and providing aid in the aftermath of Sol Regem's attack?
193.
It's all kind of a blur afterwards. Soren chalks it up to being exhausted from, well, everything, but it's not like there's been time to rest between it all anyway. There are too many wounded, too many dead, too few supplies to share between the too many refugees, and he has enough to deal with without the grief creeping along the edges of his mind, waiting for him to feel it and to process it on top of everything else. The physical labour is hard, but he's used to that. The emotional labour...
Well. It can wait.
So he heads out to the castle ruins with different groups of soldiers and volunteers to salvage what little they can. He moves rubble and bodies and supplies, helps pitch tents and herd children, tends to the wounded with the limited training he has. He's worn thin and he knows this. He hasn't slept for more than a couple of hours since the attack and he knows this too. He knows because Opeli keeps telling him to rest and Corvus keeps telling him to sleep and they're just as tired as he is, but neither of them stop, so why should he?
It's been a week. A little more he thinks, but he doesn't really know because the days have started to bleed to into each other and the rise and fall of the sun doesn't really mean anything in light of everything that's going on. He knows that the others had all come back the morning after the attack, and he knows Ezran had given the order to move everyone to the Banther Lodge after a couple of nights at the temples, but beyond that, all Soren knows is the ache in his muscles and the precarious uneven rhythm of his next step, and the one after, and the one after that.
He's sitting by the fire tonight. There's a pile of damaged armour beside him that he doesn't really know how to repair but the blacksmith didn't make it and the Banther Lodge works, but they're still sitting ducks out here. Damaged armour won't do them any favours. There's no room to lose anybody else. He's fixing the leather in a bracer when they find him, Corvus and Opeli, both tired, both weary, both obviously concerned.
"'Sup," greets Soren absently.
Corvus and Opeli glance at each other.
"We've been ordered to rest," says Corvus.
Soren snorts. "How's that going for you?"
Opeli twitches her lips. "I can't refuse an order from the king," she says drily, "but more importantly, neither can you."
Soren pauses in his work and raises an eyebrow.
"You need to rest," says Corvus, taking the bracer from him and shoving the pile of armour over with his foot. He takes a seat next to him without waiting for an invitation and Opeli does the same on his other side, already frowning at the bandage she'd placed over the cut on his forehead.
"You've split your stitches again," she says, her disapproval obvious.
"I'm fine," mutters Soren. He tries to snatch the bracer back but Corvus holds it purposefully out of reach.
"You need to rest," says Corvus again, tossing it back into the pile and kicking the whole stack of it further away. "We all do," he adds pointedly to Opeli, who wrinkles her nose petulantly and draws her knees to her chest.
"I'm not arguing," she mutters. "But whether or not we do relies on Soren, doesn't it?"
Soren stares at them both. Corvus actually smirks.
"We made a deal with Ezran," he says somewhat smugly. "I don't need a break—"
"Yes you do," snorts Opeli.
"But I wouldn't take one unless Opeli took one—"
"And I won't take one unless you do." Opeli gives him a look then, her usual stern-faced glare laced with something stubborn and a little sour, but something hopeful too: an opportunity to rest mandated by someone else that she won't feel guilty for taking. "So whether or not we get to take a break is up to you, really," she says.
Soren pauses. Then he scowls at them both. "That's a dirty trick."
"It's pretty fair actually," says Corvus, stretching out beside him. "You need to rest, Soren. If not for yourself, then for the people who care about you."
"And you do have people who care about you," says Opeli. "You must know that."
There's another pause. Corvus leans into him on one side and, hesitantly, Opeli does the same on the other, their warmth a comfort against the evening cold, their weight a ward against the feelings he isn't quite ready to feel.
He doesn't remember closing his eyes, but when he opens them, it's dawn. The morning is quiet. The fire is out. Corvus has shifted so that his head rests on Soren's shoulder and Opeli has tucked herself under his arm in her sleep. The blanket draped over them is scratchy but warm.
Soren lets himself go back to sleep.

Hello mcsm community
It's been years since i've played this game and I started crying when I figured out you can't play it anymore then started crying again when someone told me where to get s1 and s2 for free so that has sparked determination in me.
So, I have come to tell you I will finally contribute to this fandom. I am writing a season 3, where Romeo is still an admin. It's an au where Romeo made a deal with Jesse after realizing he might actually not win. The deal was that he would give Xara back her admin abilities and not kill anyone (and/)or destroy people's homes and he would get to keep his abilities. Jesse has the golden gauntlet in case he goes rogue.
There will be two versions, one with male Jesse and one with female Jesse, they have very different personalities. I'm using my own versions that I used. Each chapter will be 15k or 20k words, still haven't decided. I want to make them longer than my usual works.
Fem Jesse went with Petra after the Romeo situation was fixed, enough, and put Radar in charge. Male Jesse stayed in charge. You can probably guess why. (Fem Jesse is with Petra, male Jesse is with Lukas)
It is mostly centered around Xara, Romeo, and Radar but everyone else will have their moments too. It goes more in-depth on the other worlds through the portal network too, and Otto and Emily as well as the old builders world will be there a few times. So will the Sky City people and their new cities. The underground might be in there too.
I saw a post on here about shipping Nell and Xara and honestly became obsessed so...Xara is with Nell. Romeo will be with Radar after getting over Fred because Radar is my favorite and who doesn't want to start dating the emotionally constipated god that almost killed you, your friends, your townspeople, the world, locked a bunch of people under bedrock and started anew, killed their husband out of rage and confusion, locked up their best friend also out of rage and confusion, and hated you for about three months? It's fine tho he made challenges for them. Because he feels bad. And helped rebuild. Because he feels bad.
And there's FUCKING SOREN and his DUMBASS BOOKS as a treat. And Isor.

TDP s6: Soren, Viren and missing the point (1/2)
I’ve seen some discussion surrounding the topic of whether or not book 6 of The Dragon Prince did justice to the complicated relationship between the male components of the mage fam, and as someone who fell in love with the writing of the show (in the first three seasons), as well as someone who relates to Soren’s struggle with Viren, I wanted to share my two cents. Of course, those are filtered through my very own lens, so none of what I’m going to say is ill intended or means to be disrespectful to the writers, cast, crew or fans that enjoyed what we got in book 6. I just really want to share my own thoughts because the direction this show has been taking these past few years is eating me up alive😊
*clears throat*
SPOILERS FOR THE DRAGON PRINCE SEASON 6!
What I find really frustrating and unsatisfying is that the scenes of confrontation between father and son that we got in s6 are done in a way that seemingly wants to punish Viren more than it wants to empower Soren- even though the scenes taken singularly are extremely well done, from the voice acting to the animation to the mood of it all... the problem arises only when looking at things according to the very principles the series tries to convey.
Just so that we’re all on the same boat here: the core theme of the series is the difference between power and true strength, and more specifically how the latter comes in the shape of only apparent weaknesses, such as love, vulnerability and forgiveness- all things that ultimately aim at connection.
Here’s the thing:
While yes, acting or not acting this way is a personal choice, Soren doesn’t really seem to choose to not to forgive Viren; rather he’s portrayed as uncapable of doing the opposite, meaning that he isn't really given the chance to be ‘strong’ according to the series’ values. It's one thing to say that Soren doesn't forgive his dad despite the change Viren went through because Soren doesn't owe him that, but it's a whole other thing to say that Soren doesn't forgive his dad because he refuses to believe said change happened in the first place (which by the time they meet again in s6 it’s just plainly untrue, but I’ll talk about Viren in part 2).
Now, since Soren is pretty much fine whenever Viren isn’t around, and since forgiveness is a part of the core theme of the series, what one could assume that Soren already forgave him and went on with his life for 2 years with no problem because he was at peace with what happened (which is the point of the act of forgiving, not only here but in real life too). Then Viren shows up again, and there’s a state of shock…the first time. Soren meets Viren in the Drakewood and we got no interaction between them, and whatever, that’s fine. Maybe he was processing it all.
The scenario in which they meet here however it’s very different: Soren is told ahead of time and he willingly goes to see his father despite no one forcing him to, as if he couldn't help it (at least up to a certain point).
This, unlike the state of shock that may or may have not been the reason they didn’t face one another sooner, isn’t a situation that should take away Soren’s capacity to stand up to his abuser with pride that he displayed all the way back in s3: does anybody remember that? How in the finale Soren was super ready for a confrontation right then and there, not as a hurt kid but as a confident and secure young man?
Yet this time, Soren isn’t depicted as capable of proudly facing the source of his pain to begin with, for whatever reason. Here he’s either numb, mad or sad, framed as a broken boy who can only live happily if he full on ignores what hurt him, which is far from the idea of moving on. Even in the optic where this is a form of stepping up for himself, considering that (as I mentioned) he was already capable of it and we already know how deeply hurt he was by Viren, the interactions we get in s6 give us nothing that we didn’t already know.
Since this is (probably) the last chance the two will have at conversation, there should've been more to it this time around. Some kind of proper conclusion before parting ways: that would be closure.
If Soren couldn’t forgive Viren when the latter was believed dead and didn’t have to face him at all once, it was probably due to the lack of closure (or by principle, I’ll get to that in a second), which could be the reason why he kept going back to the dungeon, though unaware of it; at this point it’s easy to see that, in order for the relationship to center the point the overall story is trying to make (or to barely allow a character that has suffered as much as Soren to finally heal), having closure here was a must, especially if they intended for him to go through the same thing twice.
As someone who has lived a similar situation as Soren has with Viren I say this with all the bitterness possible: for better or worse, forgiveness it’s something you do for your own sake of moving forward. I think that a lot of people, in general, mistake forgiveness for reconciliation.
The issue isn't that these two characters don’t reconcile, if anything, that's something that I liked and actually hoped for; the issue is that if closure and forgiveness are about inner peace (and they are), and not about reconciliation (and they're not), both things being denied now is unfair at best, and cruel at worst.
For anyone who claims that the entire thing was "realistic", please keep in mind that this is a fictional story where the characters are either rewarded or punished at the mercy of the writers, not to mention that said fictional story also wants to deliver a very clear moral message, meaning that most of the big character moments should bare minimum lean towards said message.
Even assuming this wasn’t the case, that forgiveness not being granted here is for the best and it doesn’t ruin the overall message of the story, Soren still deserved closure; he could have then decided to not forgive his father.
But okay- let's say that all of what I’ve been typing so far here isn't true and that Soren not believing his father was perfect: it could have, admittedly, somewhat worked if they had Soren, an emotionally smart and open-minded guy, actually hear his father out before… I don’t know, calling him out on his hypocrisy perhaps, for apologizing for mistreatment when there’s so much more he did, or for claiming to be a changed man when he puts the responsibility of fixing what he caused onto others by asking to serve someone else and that’s because he doesn't know how to be good man on his own, or how he chose to not pick up the pieces of what he left behind and brings up Viren's decision to leave behind his sister, who will likely fall into Aaravos's arms out of desperation… something.
What I'm getting at is that anything would have been satisfying if at least they allowed the characters to truly communicate with one another, regardless of the outcome, instead the possibility of real confrontation being denied to them so a spectacle can be made of Viren's guilt and unaccepted apologies.
‘Cause no, if one of the characters actively chooses not to listen to what the other one is saying, it’s not an actual confrontation, it’s barely a conversation. It’s just dialogue.
Aside from the logistics of it all, I've rewatched book 1, 2 and 3 about a hundred times during the hiatus, and I confidently believe (though this is 100% my own reading of the character) that among other things, everything that happens between Soren and Viren here fails to consider the kind of person Soren is at heart: he would never say something like "I want to see you suffer"; he would never angrily punch a wall (or, in this case, the dungeon’s bars). Those obviously aren’t unreasonable reactions, they are just out of character. To make a real-life example, if you were to go outside and a random man started screaming at you, it’d be understandable for you to scream back, just like it would be for you to freeze or run away; it all depends on who you are as a person.
Soren isn’t the type who’d get physically violent as a result of emotional outbursts* against a person he loves (if he isn't completely apathetic it's because he still cares, despite everything), nor the one who’d deliberately be mean to said someone, even when hurt, angry and would have all the right to be mean. What the hell happened to “he's cruel, but you don’t have to be” or whatever he said in s5?
He just isn’t that kind of person at all. If anything, Soren would very likely find it in him to be happy for his father while still not wanting him in his life anymore.
[*edit: this one specifically isn't just a matter of character, but also a matter of discipline: Soren is literally a trained soldier. I get why Callum would punch someone in the face during an adrenaline rush due to feeling intense anger and stress, but Soren was able to keep his cool not only when the pain of seeing Viren's "true colors" was fresh, but when at the very same time the man was being a threat to Ezran's life (so even according to Crownguard code he would have had a pass to immediately react)... maybe that's why it strikes me as odd]
Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed this season far more than what it might seem, but since Soren is the only reason I stuck around after the massive disappointment that was s4, I really really wanted this moment to be the absolute best, and at least personally I feel like this was just not it… but I’m crossing my fingers, hoping that maybe, in one way or another, they will give Soren his moment of acceptance and allow him to truly move on.
Something that I can’t hope anymore for Viren…

TILLY WOLFF’S PREGNANCY GLOW MAKES A COME BACK AT THE 2022 MET GALA by vogue
[1st image: emma: you look like you came from a minimalist renaissance painting, might i add. tilly: thank you! you look amazing yourself. who're you wearing? e: i should be asking that question but louis vuitton and cartier. you? t: christian siriano. he did all of this on friday which i'm grateful for.]
[2nd: e: your husband, toto- he would normally attend the gala with you, right? t: yes. he actually couldn't right now because he's in miami with the kids in preparation for the grand prix. he was insisting that he should come along but i kept giving him the outline of his job roles that he can't skip out on.]
[3rd: e: he's just being a husband, if you think of it. t: yes but he's a husband who also happens to have a racing team that are hoping to contend for the world constructors championship. e: what did he say when you told him he couldn't go? t: he was rather cranky. he wasn't the typical toto who would radiate this intense energy. he was just upset i couldn't allow him to go.]
[4th: t: i'm a couple weeks away from surpassing my first trimester, and he doesn't seem to think i'd do perfectly fine on my own especially if he's away and we're not at home. he's still worried i would trip and everything as if i hadn't worn heels back when i was pregnant with soren and tia. e: you must be some sort of superwoman if you could do that while pregnant!]
[5th: t: i worked hard on it. sometimes mary janes wouldn't do my job outfit any justice and there'd be a pair of kitten heels calling for me. e: how did your poor feet feel? t: swollen. i cried after realizing i can't wear them unless i get a bigger size. but it's not anything that i couldn't get. it's mostly just toto that i have to deal with whenever he sees me slipping on some heels.]
[6th: e: who would have thought that the big bad wolff could feel the discomfort of a pregnant woman by simply looking at her? t: *laughs* he's an empath of some sort. i don't know. i've been with him for almost a decade and one of things that l've learned is that he's quite observant and wouldn't budge unless you admit that he was right about what he saw.]
Q&A WITH TILLY by tilly marie
[1st image: what smell brings back good memories?]
[2nd: what could be a scent that brings back good memories? this is quite hard... i think i would say baby powder? *laughs* it sounds quite peculiar but it's something that reminds me that l've got the best things that could have happened to me. which are my children.]
[3rd: it's not really that peculiar, if i come think of it. there are people that like the smell of gasoline still to this day. i have spent years in garages and l've had my fair share of smoking experiences- those scents were addicting but the baby powder? extremely addictive. you won't have any issue with your lungs too.]
ATTENDING THE DIOR HAUTE COUTURE SHOW by tilly marie
clip one — soren’s wake up call… literally
[1st image: the breakfast came it quite late today and my neighbour's playing the most awful songs in the morning. i absolutely thought that i was going to have the most horrendous day at the haute couture show then my husband just rang and it turned out it was soren who called me early in the morning to say hi. he stole his papa's phone from the bedside and somehow knew the passcode. or it's probably his face id that did it. who knows.]
[2nd: i was telling him about how hungry i was because my breakfast wasn't ready, so my sweet boy didn't even hesitate to run downstairs to "cook"- he began to grab pans and eggs to "cook." thankfully toto had gotten up by then otherwise soren would've gotten into some sort of accident just trying to make me an omelette from brackley. i'm in paris but my sweet boy thinks he could send the breakfast my way as soon as possible.]
clip two — tilly shows how adelmo moves
[1st image: tilly: do you wanna see how adelmo dances to aladdin's "friend like me?" cameraman: yes of course. why not? tilly: great, this is how his little 2 year old self dances with the genie]
[2nd: *hums in adelmo torger lewis wolff*]
clip three — tia is the spoiled cub of the cubs
[1st image: i think i should try to put tia in my purse and take her with me on a show next time because i- *laughs* i can't behave by myself anymore. tia would most likely be scolding me and she'd be so happy to see all of these clothes. then she'd probably ask it she could get a dress tailored for her from the haute couture collection.]
[2nd: now that i think of it, she's most likely to empty toto's wallet in one go. whenever she and toto goes out for some daddy-daughter time, tia would return with her papa carrying shitloads of shopping bags. the sad case is that they all came from harrods- but that's the only place we could go without being hounded by cameras. still... toto goes all out for her all the time.]

okay. for the first time in my life I'm using the #tdp critical tag because I have some things to get off my chest about s6 and I desperately need to focus on an exam for tomorrow and can't and idk I feel slightly out of my mind/wondering if this really is just a me problem but like
this season felt kind of sparse to me regarding character interactions outside of duos they wanted to focus on/letting characters present react to situations. stuff like Amaya not having a comment about Callum not being at her wedding or the Celestial Elves really not having much to say about Aaravos himself despite the Elder theoretically having been around in the days pre imprisonment like
I don't mind that Viren died but I do feel out of my MIND that he and Ezran didn't actually get a conversation, and beyond that that Viren didn't try to pass along any Aaravos information to anyone, and that even if Soren and Viren's relationship was just Maxed Out that we didn't get Opeli and Ezran talking about what to do with him (could've even had Soren walk in and do a Callum S4 moment of 'you ever walk into a room and everyone goes quiet and you know they were talking about you' moment), Opeli reacting/checking on Soren while Viren was imprisoned even if he didn't want to talk to her, there being any verdict about Viren at all and we're never getting anything else out of him again which is why no Ezran and by extension Callum/Rayla/ect feels sort of disappointing to me, as he hasn't interacted with Callum since S1
It's a really good moment, don't get me wrong, but we traded the suspense of thinking Viren had perhaps killed Soren for us getting any last words or gesture from him to Soren face to face
the Celestial Elves gave us info on Startouch Elves in general but not on Aaravos specifically even though the Elder I thought would know more? They aren't surprised at the idea of trying to kill a Great One/Aaravos but there wasn't even a word of warning about if he does get loose or anything Specific about the last time it happened or, if they didn't know anything, confusion about why a Great One is imprisoned like idk
no one had any concern either when getting access to the stars which again, idk, I thought Callum might've been more worried about Aaravos being at the Starscraper and the prison (when he thought he had it) being surrounded by Aaravos's main connection but idk, it didn't matter but I thought it could have
ALSO THE STAVES. HELLO. AT THE STARSCRAPER I JUST
No Aaravos and Callum interaction is also smth I've made my peace about but after the trailer, especially the choice to use that thumbnail for it/as a promo image, idk, I am kind of sad I have to wait until S7 for any of that and now I wonder how significant it can really be/why hes gonna need callum as a puppet now if he's Out and as powerful as he seems to be. we just raised the stakes but had three entire seasons of building towards it, so how can s7 handle getting callum to do dark magic again, theoretical possession/aaravos use, coming back from that, ect, all within 9 eps?
tbh no one really had grief about sir sparklepuff being gone which I guess he wasn't a full Person in anyone's eyes and the focus was all on Claudia/her state which was fine, like we did get some of that nonverbally with Terry at least but we kinda moved right past it. like even one line in ep 9 from terry like "look what he had you do to his most recent child" would have made me go yeah exactly that Mattered but it wasn't there
in addition to no Callum at the wedding Ezran also just sat on Viren being back like idk I guess I wish he'd talked to Amaya more. like I loved him and Aanya I just feel there was room for Both
Listen I'm not one of the people only watching the show for Aaravos and I am delighted with the two episodes we got of him but that he was in more episodes in S3 than in S6 does have me like. cries. really. s4 and s5 i didn't mind in part because I figured stars would be big and it Was but im like oh my god. i got to ep 7 and was like is he REALLY not gonna get out which thankfully he did but only at the end
and the end was like. the biggest cliffhanger we've ever had and i get going for the suspense but it's KILLING ME MAN
I know Aaravos's motivation/goal but not exactly how his actions are leading to that whatsoever as he seems to play every side and doesn't even favor humans if he's willing to torch katolis. unbridled chaos i guess? is that it? I don't even know what to be afraid of next season with him except I'd presume he's going to Xadia next and will Somehow be getting back at the Cosmic Order but idk what the past thousand years have truly been for unless it's waiting around for the stars to align and throwing a fit while doing so
Runaan is out and he and Callum didn't get so much as a sentence between them and that and the Aaravos out but also no conversation double whammy just has me like
PLEASE
at the end of this all this was a more dramatic/cinematic season but it didn't have a lot of the smaller character reaction moments/balance the prior seasons all seemed to give me tbh and it took all season to lead up to highly anticipated events aka letting Runaan and Aaravos out but I didn't get any of the Payoff of that characterwise except for Runaan and Rayla and idk I do feel both like S6 had some of the best moments of the show and also really disappointed in places where it feels like it could have been so easy to have had just a Bit more cohesion and characters plugged into their overarching circumstances/dynamics more
like I think we had the time for it
and going into this expecting a penultimate season and then learning theres a third arc planned, it makes the pacing and lack of aaravos sort of make sense but also has me like, we may not even get that and now I feel like s7 will make or break the Entire show for me which is terrifying
like we got a lot of new info but it was largely not what I was expecting without touching on a lot of stuff I was hoping for and I AGH. i didnt expect this season to continue the build up train and I'm having a hard time accepting that it's the first time tdp has ever like. idk. thrown me such a curveball that it's gotten me honest to god upset which is on me and not the show, and i keep hoping i feel better but so much rides on s7 now

okay dragon prince s6 was. a wild fucking ride

------
live reaction:
JUST REALIZED DRAGON PRINCE S6 CAME OUT LET’S GOOOP
the last show i watched was lmk (besides nezha conquers the dragon king) so seeing them all so animated and actually humanoid is so satisfying
VIREN'S HANDS AND REACTION WHEN HE SEES CLAUDIA'S LEG. RAGDJGUFUJFJDDJBR ME TOO BUD ME TOOOOOO
also aaravos crying in the beginning jumpscared me because i didn’t realize it was him at first i thought it was a new va or smth 😭
ALSO NOOOO SIR SPARKLEPUFF 😭
screaming
claudia: kills her ‘brother’ and loses her sanity to save viren to go save aaravos
viren: nah i choose life
claudia: 😃 haha what
literally she’s sobbing because he’s trying to go back to katolis
oh the running animation is still shit
ughhhh the little humany movements
rayla’s hand being uncertain and lowering and going to her face when callum runs off w her blanket
and soren howling w zym is so real
CUTTING FROM “CAN WE TRUST JELLYBUG” TO THE FIRE WAS A MOMENTARY JUMPSCARE
“i have my blankie” that’s. rayla’s blankie.
okay i’m calling it they sent callum down there without a shot of him replacing the pearl so i bet they took the decoy
either that or the reason they didn’t put a shot is to not make us think that and they brought the actual peael in 💀
jm ever overthinking or a genius
no terry :(
naming a dragon pyrrah is crazy
also not me completely forgetting wtf happened in s5
completely forgot zubeia had her ass kicked
WHAT COULD YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS YOU ARE NOT A QUEEN

corvus deserves the world i remember why he was my favorite character when he actually had screentime
corvus and soren were husbands your honor
since when was corvus’s leg injured
was that in s5 and my dumbass missed it
but soren carrying him is golden
yeah it was in s5 im stupid just googled
please don’t let the mushroom mage be a villain he’s awesome
the split speech between janai and karim is awesome

terry is genuinely such a good boyfriend
and rayla reading the diary is great
help not rayla reading the diary instead of trying to find supplies
is she crying bc of the sadass story or because she’s thinking of callum
terry do you not know how to brush hair
if there’s a not you grab the hair before the knot so it hurts less
what crisis did claudia go through to cut her hair
okay yeah stupid question
shadow monkey and the bait rip-off baby both cooing at rayla and callum sharing a bed is real

post reaction:
okay wow now wasn't that a season!!!
salty about the fact that they released aaravos at the very end, but i lapped up aaravos's story and his angst like a kitten to milk
loved it, wish s7 was out, and wish his release was a tad more dramatic because! he has been imprisoned for centuries! let him have a breakdown, he deserves one!
also not me managing to predict plot twists 💀💀
anyway if you made it this far, have some sunfire cake 🍰🍰

Soulmates? Soulmates. Pt 3
Word count: 3384
Summary: Here’s a good idea: let's take our new elf friend to the cabin our human father was sending us to. Yeah, that’s a great idea. Only time will tell how terrible that idea truly was
Warnings: Talk of drinking blood (callum’s an idiot), canon typical violence
A/n: Hello welcome back for part 3 of this series. This part has very little interaction with Soren but it’s fine he’ll be back next chapter. Anyway, enjoy and remember to hydrate or diedrate.
Part 1. Part 2
After gathering some berries, I made my way back to where I left my brothers and Rayla. Reaching the clearing, I noticed Ezran had finally woken up and it looked like Callum was packing up getting ready to keep moving. “Hey guys, I was able to find a few berries we can eat before we get going.” I said handing a few to each person present.
“Oh, Y/n good you’re back. I thought you should know we are making a quick stop at the Banther Lodge to grab something before heading for Xadia.” Callum informed me as he took the berries I offered him. I looked at him confused but before I could voice my concern he beat me to it. “Don’t worry, it’s the winter lodge so there won’t be anyone there.” Once again I was about to speak up but was cut off by Rayla saying we needed to get going. I just shook my head and hoped Callum was right about no one being there.
We had been walking for a short while when Ezran spoke up about being thirsty. Rayla kindly offered a vial of what I’m guessing is moonberry juice having seen it when I was younger. But alas my brother is stupid and spoke first. “Uh, no, thank you. We don’t drink that.” Rayla looked confused and glanced at me only receiving a shrug from me. “Blood, We don’t drink blood. We don’t mean to be rude, but, uh, you can keep it.” I couldn’t hold back from groaning at Callum’s stupidity.
“It’s moonberry juice.” Rayla said, correcting Callum and receiving a confused glance from him. “Is that what humans think we are? Bloodthirsty Monsters?”
I watched the guilt wash over Callum’s face as he realized he messed up. “It, It’s not that. I mean, I’ve heard stories, b- but I’m sure they’re just stories. Horrible awful stories.” He stuttered as he tried to fix his stupidity.
“You know for a kid who constantly has his nose stuck in a book, you really are stupid.” I said, shaking my head at him as I moved past the group. “Oh, Look we’re here.” I said as I spotted the lodge through the trees.
Rayla and Callum moved to look past me at the Lodge. “See? No winter, no humans at the winter lodge.” Callum said, sounding smug for his observation. Rayla just rolled her eyes at him.
“Let’s make this quick. Tell me where the thing is and I’ll be in and out.” She said motioning for my brother to tell her where whatever it was we were here for was.
I blocked out the conversation about it while looking at the lodge confused, if this is where we were being sent for our safety why was it empty. It makes no sense. As if Ezran could hear my thoughts he voiced his concern as well. “It is kinda weird that there’s no one here since this is where Dad was sending us.” I nodded agreeing with his observation, finally noticing that Rayla must have made her way into the lodge already.
Before we could think on it any further we were startled by the sound of a horn and horses approaching. Thinking quickly I pulled the boys from the bushes and stood in front of the doors. Ezran had ducked behind me and Callum putting the egg in his backpack, before standing next to me to greet the approaching guards. “Aunt Amaya?” Ezran said as the General hopped off her horse and removed her helmet.
After looking the three of us over Amaya pulled us into a tight hug, before kneeling in front of Ez to speak with us. “I’m so glad you’re safe.” Gren, Amya’s right hand man and translator, said as our aunt signed to us.
Being terrible under pressure Callum spoke up before I could. “Extremely safe! Safe and alone!” Trying to go along with how stupid he sounded I nodded as Ezran also used his leg to push his back pack behind us out of view.
There was a moment of silence as Amaya looked up towards one of the windows on the second floor of the lodge. Gren silently asked the general what was wrong. Amaya just pushed between us moving to the door. Callum panicked and moved in front of her. “Oh, uh, that door’s locked. So, uh, you wait here for a minute, couple minutes, few however long it takes. I’ll go find a key.”
Instead of listening to the teen, Amaya just picked him up, moved him to the side and kicked the door open. As she entered the Lodge she signed again. “I don’t believe in locks” Voiced confidently by Gren who followed his general into the building.
I shot Callum a look that said he was an idiot for thinking it was a good idea to come here. As we made our way in, Amya froze before signing that someone was there. Knowing that Amaya’s intuition was never wrong I tried to prevent my brother from being stupid but alas his mouth moves faster than my body half the time. “What? No, no. No one here but us and all your human troops.” Callum shouted, looking like a complete lunatic.
“Callum, you know it doesn’t help to yell.” Gren began interpreting Amaya’s signs. “ And why are you saying ‘Human troops’ like that?” It was clear both adults were extremely confused by the prince’s odd choice of wording.
“Uh, what do you mean? That's how always say ‘heavily armed human troops!’” He answered shouting the last part.
Deciding to end this weird display I grabbed Ezran and pulled him in front of the confused General. “Uh Ezran has something to tell you.” I stated, knowing that whatever random thing he thought up would likely be more believable than the ramblings of Callum.
After pausing for a moment Ezran finally spoke up. “Um, I skipped breakfast.” His statement may not have been much but it seemed to shift the focus off whatever presence Amaya was sensing. “I’m sorry” Ezran finished looking down sadly.
We waited for a moment hoping the boy’s lie was believable, before she began signing again. “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” After that me and my brothers moved to sit at a table while Amaya looked for food.
While Amaya and Gren were busy looking for food, I couldn’t help but smack Callum in the back of the head. “What was that for?” He asked quietly, not wanting to draw attention to us.
“That was for insisting on coming here. Now we have to hope they don’t notice Rayla.” I whispered back clearly angry.
Before he could respond I heard Gren speaking meaning Amaya was back in the room. “The food here is… weapons grade.” There was a pause as Amaya hit a counter with what looked like a loaf of bread. She set the bread on the table in front of us, and pulled out a dagger slamming it into the wooden table top. “Dig in.” Gren instructed while Amaya gestured to the ‘food’.
While Callum inspected the bread and Ez tried pulling the dagger from the table, I asked a probably obvious question. “Aunt Amaya, why are you here?”
She smiled as she responded. “I received a messenger bird from the king yesterday.” After hearing Amaya’s answer, Callum began feeling his jacket for something. “What’s wrong?”
Callumed looked at the table clearly distraught over the realization he came too. “I just, he gave me a letter, too, but I must have dropped it somewhere.” I couldn’t help but feel for him as I can’t imagine what he may be thinking after losing such an important letter.
“What’d your letter say?” I asked Amaya, hoping to move Callum’s focus to his misplaced letter. Amaya handed over her letter for me to read. “General, the castle is under threat. Assassins have infiltrated the kingdom. Moonshadow elves.” I read aloud for my brother’s to hear.
As I looked at Amaya, she signed ‘The worst kind’. I nodded as if agreeing before continuing to read the letter. “Do not bring your force to the castle. Your orders are to proceed immediately to the Banther Lodge. Y/n, Callum and Ezran will be there. Above all, see to it that my children are safe.” As I finished the letter I set it on the table, looking at Ezran, who was now trying to saw the bread in half with the stuck dagger.
Before any of us could say anything in regards to the letter, Amaya indicated there was more on the back of it. This time Callum picked up the letter, flipping it over to read the additional note. “PS: Once their safety is assured, they may wish to build a dirt man.” Hearing that I shook my head. “We do not wish to build a Dirtman.” Callum said.
Ezran paused his effort in cutting the bread for a moment. “We do not.” was all he said before going back to the bread. I just nodded in agreement before leaning back in my chair hoping that Rayla had found whatever it is that brought us here and we could find a clever way out of this situation.
After failing at eating the rock pretending to be a loaf of bread, my brothers and I were sitting in a small living space while Amaya and her soldiers patrolled the lodge. “This is all my fault. We should have never come here.” Callum said slumping into one of the couches while Ez was sitting on the floor playing with Bait.
“You’re right this is your fault.” I said, earning a glare from the brunette. I just shrugged sitting down in one of the chairs nearby.
“But we found Aunt Amaya. Maybe we should tell her.” Ezran said looking up from the action figure he found.
Confused, Callum asked what both of us were thinking. “Tell her what?”
Ezran didn’t seem to understand the situation the same way me and Callum did, but he was optimistic. “ About the egg. About Rayla.” He answered like it was plain as day what he was suggesting.
“We can’t.” Callum left his answer simple, his self blame getting the best of him.
Sighing I filled in the gaps for the young prince. “You heard what she said, Ez. How she talks about elves. To Aunt Amaya, elves are monsters.” It hurt to say that but I knew I couldn’t show how much it truly hurt to voice that one of the people I considered family would hate the real me.
Ezran sighed in response. “But what if we explain everything?” He asked in a voice that sounded hopeful.
Before I could explain, Callum spoke again. “It won't work. Humans and elves don't trust each other. That won't change until we take this egg back to Xadia. We have to find Rayla and get out of here.” As he finished he looked at me nodding. We had silently came to an agreement and spread out in search of Rayla.
After a short while of looking I heard one of the guards talking about how there was an elf in the cellar below the kitchen. I quickly ushered the boys into said kitchen and tried to think of a plan. “Oh what if we put bait on the little service elevator and lower it down.” Ezran said excitedly, holding up the glow toad.
Callum looked at me as if expecting me to give a better answer. Knowing what Ez was thinking I shrugged and responded with “I mean it’s better than trying to fight our way through Amaya’s guards.” Ez silently cheered before placing the toad on the elevator.
Callum rolled his eyes as he began lowering the box. I tuned out as the boys argued over ezran’s random plans like snail armor. It was only for a few seconds and even though I tried to reach out to Soren through our connection it seemed he was busy and had the link closed on his end. So I refocused and just in time to see light break through the cracks of the box as the toad began glowing brightly.
Seeing the light we rushed to the stairs leading to the cellar, running into Rayla as she threw Bait into Ezran’s arms. “Come on!” She shouted as we turned and made our way out of the lodge.
As we raced outside we became cornered by Amaya and her soldiers pointing their weapons in our direction. “Stop right there elf. Y/n, Callum, Ezran, come here.” Gren announced what Amaya was signing so everyone understood what the General was saying.
“Guys, we should just tell her.” Ezran suggested looking nervous.
Not liking the hesitation Amaya signed again. “Kids, get away from her.” The look on Amaya’s face said she would not say it again.
“Wait” Once again Callum took advantage of my slow thinking and stepped forward signing to our Aunt.
I watched as Rayla observed both Callum’s movements and the looks on Amaya and Gren’s faces. “What are you saying?” She asked, concerned.
Amaya signed back, Gren interpreting for the Elf to understand. “He says, if we don't let you go, you'll kill them and drink their blood. That you are a monster.” Rayla’s face looked horrified by the description.
“Right, so you have to let us go.” Callum said. Ignoring the look of hurt on Rayla’s face.
“It’s okay Callum. I’ve slain monsters before.” Gren spoke for Amaya. “Do it. Take her out.” Gren relayed the General’s orders to the Archers who had their sights set on Rayla.
Before I could think I moved to try and protect Rayla. She had also acted quickly, moving to turn out of the arrow’s path. I watched as one arrow just barely grazed Rayla’s face, tearing off the small braid that hung by her face. What I failed to realize was in my haste to try and help Rayla, the second arrow snagged on the necklace that kept my true identity safe.
It was silent for a moment as everyone took in the scene before them. Taking advantage of everyone’s confusion Rayla pulled the boys in front of her holding her blades to their throat. She just nodded her head at me to stand beside her before she spoke. “Go ahead, take another shot. But read my lips. The next time I swing my blade, I’ll end both of them in half a second.” I watched as Amaya signaled the archers to lower their bows. “Move, Humans.” Rayla spat moving my brothers.
As we moved around the side of the bridge to the edge of the water I finally noticed why everyone froze. The weight I had grown used to sitting around my neck was gone. Everyone who was there now knows what I am. I stole a glance back at where we had been standing and sure enough there laid my enchanted necklace. As much as I wanted to run back and grab it I knew going back into the cluster of soldiers would most likely lead to my arrest. I sighed before focusing back on my brothers and Rayla who were now waiting for me to join them in the small boat that happened to be resting in the water. Shaking off the worry of how to explain this to the three of them, I just climbed in, sitting as far from them as I could get in the tiny boat.
We continued down the river in silence until we could no longer see the Banther Lodge in the distance. “That worked, I can’t believe it.” Callum said, sighing. He looked in my direction as if wanting to ask about the sudden drastic change in appearance, but Rayla cut him off.
“I can’t believe you’re such a jerk.” She mumbled tucking her head into her knees.
Ezran and Callum shared a look of confusion. “What? What’s wrong?” Callum asked the Moonshadow elf.
“You called me a bloodthirsty monster. You have no idea how that feels.” Rayla responded clearly upset with how things played out.
“But I don’t actually believe any of that. I was just trying to scare her. I thought she’d back down.” He defended.
“oh , that went well. They tried to kill me.” Rayla said, turning to callum.
Callum looked down to the bottom of the boat. “I’m sorry. That’s not what I meant to happen.” He apologized.
Rayla turned back around facing away from the group. “Well, it did.” After a moment she threw a small cube at Callum.
“You found it.” He exclaimed in slight excitement.
“It’s a toy. Probably a piece from a children's game. I hope it was worth it to you, putting everyone's lives in danger.” Rayla responded, earning another sad look from Callum.
Clearly wanting a change in topic, Ezran looked at me before speaking. “So would now be a bad time to ask about your horns and ears?” Ez asked, not sounding rude just curious about this new development.
I sighed before responding. “For now would be satisfied with a simple, I’m half elf?” I asked, also trying to lighten the mood. I received a look from Ezran that said he really wanted to know. Again not aggressive, just a curious kid wanting answers. “How about we find a place to rest for the night and I’ll tell you once we stop.” I suggested, Ezran and Callum both nodded and accepted my offer.
Y/n why did General Amaya just show up saying that you are a traitor and you helped a moonshadow elf kidnap the princes? Ah, yes after a day of radio silence from my soulmate, I'm greeted with questions about abducting my own brothers.
Hello to you to Soren. But to answer your question, I may or may not have jumped in front of an arrow to protect the very helpful elf who is leading us to xadia. And said arrow may or may not have snagged on my necklace and broke it. I explained zoned out from whatever my traveling companions were talking about. After that the only safe way out of the situation was taking my brothers and following the elf via boat. I explained briefly.
There was a pause before he responded. Wait, why is an elf leading you to Xadia?
I sighed as I remembered that in the commotion of trying to protect the King, Soren forgot our other conversations from the night before. My brothers and I found the egg of the dragon prince. So with the help of Rayla, our new elf friend, we are returning it to Xadia in hopes of ending this never ending feud between the human kingdoms and Xadia. I really hoped he understood and would be on our side of things.
Okay, if you think that’s the right plan then I trust you. On a slightly different note, my dad has declared you a traitor and a spy. How lovely I should have known Viren would do something like that once he found out I was half elf. Should I tell him that you’re not and that you are trying to return the egg to Xaida?
I know you want to tell him, but you can’t. Soren if your father or hell if Claudia finds out that I’m your soulmate, it could cause a ton of problems for you. Please for your safety do not tell them about us, or anything I have told you. Please? I held my breath, waiting for his response.
After a very short moment he responded. If you think it’s for the best I'll keep quiet. But please keep me updated on how things are going for you? I sighed, happy that he understood what I was saying. Of course I’ll keep you updated Soren. Now please get some rest as I know you likely haven’t slept in a couple days. With that I shut our connection from my end. When I tuned back into what was happening on the boat, we were approaching a small beach. I let out a sigh knowing that as soon as we got off the boat it was time to explain everything to my younger siblings and our new elf companion.

mcsm headcanons cuz im actually mental rn get it out of my head (btw these headcanons are with red clip jesse in mind hello)
- olivia and axel have been friends since like actual birth
- i like to believe jesse became friends with those two later in life, like either middle school or high school age
- in my head jesse was friends with rueben first
- like rueben was jesse’s first friend
- also in my head shes like actually terrible when it comes to talking to people
- like she has no idea how
- and rueben was her first friend bc she felt it was easier talking to a pig than people
- and also also in my head she was completely overwhelmed when she had become the towns hero
- bro had to thug out the fame
- i love my autistic queen jesse minecraft (im not projecting trust)
- oh oh also jesse’s full name is jessica but she always hated how feminine it sounded so she has just always gone by jesse
- anyway back to treehouse trio (olivia axel and jesse)
- sometime in their teen years they TRIED to make a band together
- axel could play drums and olivia could play piano
- jesse couldn’t play an instrument though so they all decided she would sing and do tambourine
- and rueben would play the damn triangle
- see it wasn’t that jesse wasn’t a bad singer she’s like pretty decent at singing
- it’s just they didn’t keep in mine that jesse and axel were both playing instruments that are supposed to keep the beat of a song (and also technically rueben too)
- i swear there are real names to those types of instruments i’m just blanking out on what they’re called
- so they ended up drowning olivia’s piano playing
- and it just sounded awful
- it lasted a week
- petra plays guitar
- she taught jesse how to play guitar which worked like slightly
- jesse can now successfully play three cords on the guitar!
- i think the treehouse trio met petra late teenage years
- this is also around the time they met the ocelots
- jesse and aiden are bitter exes HELLO
- i like to think jesse and aiden dated for a year before jesse broke things off bc aiden was lowkey highkey controlling
- aiden went from being like “omg no i need u pls” to “WHATEVER FINE I HATE U U STUPID BITCH” real quick
- also i like to think maya had a tiny crush on olivia but is so bad at flirting that olivia thought maya was bullying her
- so olivia lowkey beefing with maya
- lukas use to do mayas hair a LOT so now lukas is like the master of styling hair
- very quick on the ocelots i think all of them have also been friends since like actual childhood
- their teenage rebellion phase was wildd they should have been put behind bars
- “alright ocelots let’s absolutely grief this house” type shit
- anyway back on treehouse trio i care for them deeply
- axel. haha. he had tiny crush. on jesse
- bro was NOT happy when jesse and aiden started dated
- he gotten over jesse by the time she broke it off with aiden but omg bro was CHEERING
- i really really like to think that the treehouse trio have like this friendship necklace they all wear
- nothing fancy just some scrapes of iron on a chain wrapped around their neck
- rueben has one too :)
- jesse was like “i don’t wanna do that without rueben” and they were like “i support u queen”
- i think jeese and olivia have the same hair type
- well actually i think olivia’s curls are tighter but they are almost identical
- so olivia and jesse always did each others hair :)
- um some small stuff on the order of the stone rq
- ellegaard and soren HAD to have had SOMETHING
- wether it was like they were a thing or soren had a thing for her SOMETHING
- there’s actually a mcsm ost called “redstone baby” which i THINK plays when u first go into sorens enderman prep room
- it actually has some lyrics too its kinda sweet
- anyway enough about them lets go into main game events
- i like to think the main gang are all around 20-21 years old during the witherstorm arc
- order of oldest to youngest: petra, olivia, axel, jesse, lukas
- petra and olivia are both 21 and axel is about to turn 21
- have i made it clear jesse kinda a dork
- its not just male jesse guys like girls be dorky have you guys even READ dork diaries
- uh anyway so jesse prob never actually went out to fight monsters until that night she went out looking for rueben
- which is why she has the wooden sword
- i feel like she also prob used that wooden sword to fight off false alarms
- you cannot tell me jesse had not at least hit axel once with that sword when he would jumpscare her
- so ya jesse a weak fighter
- funny she goes from never fighting to the goddamn witherstorm
- she copied a lot of her fighting style from petra when she first had to go fight mobs
- throughout the game and also definitely after the witherstorm jesse develops her own form of fighting
- olivia DEFINITELY had a thing for ellegaard
- my girl was LEZZING out
- maybe not like actual full blown crush but she definitely had like this celebrity “do anything for u” crush on ellegaard
- soren is weak in my heart
- like emotionally yeah but also physically he weak as shit
- jesse only passed out from sorens punch cuz one, soren put his whole into that punch and two, jesse too is also weak as balls
- wind could blow her away
- did i mention shes vegan
- not that that has anything to do with her strength
- that f-bomb jesse threw at the witherstorm definitely effed her up
- in my run she used magnus’ armor which i am convinced saved her ass from some actual physical damage from the bomb
- but the bomb definitely did something to her
- she had tinnitus for weeks
- also i think she went deaf in one ear after that
- she kinda just raw dogged it for the witherstorm arc but i think olivia definitely made her earrings aids after
- or at least whatever earring aids would be in that universe idk if minecraft is different whatever
- rueben.
- my sweet baby boy rueben
- before we talk about the impacts of rueben’s death i wanna talk about how i believed jesse met rueben
- jesse was probs pretty young she met rueben
- it was confirmed that jesse found rueben near a waterfall so lets build on that
- i mentioned earlier that jesse pre-witherstorm never went out at night
- i lied she went out this one time and had gotten herself lost
- scared and confused jesse decided to wait out the night in a small cave with a waterfall nearby
- maybe even a cave behind a waterfall
- lucky mcsm came out pre-drowns so i don’t have to worry about that!
- jesse got lowkey highkey jumpscared by rueben
- rueben prob sneaked his way in the waterfall after losting his parents (rueben is a literal child guys where his pig parents at)
- rueben and jesse bonded over both being lost and scared and they waited out the night together
- and so now they besties
- were besties
- reuben’s death hit jesse, hard
- i don’t think she full blown cried when rueben first despawned, but she def was silently crying
- the night the witherstorm had died the whole town had thrown a party
- jesse didn’t show up to the party
- she made her way back to the treehouse and just laid down there
- thats when she started to cry
- like full blown crying
- she was found by axel and olivia later that night
- they all stayed in the treehouse that night
- jesse cried herself to sleep
- she never really got over rueben’s death
- for awhile she’d break down just looking at a pig
- that’s actually why she started going on adventure in the first place
- to distract herself from rueben
- i think the treehouse trio were the main contributors to rueben’s memorial
- jesse never wanted to be a hero guys
- anywayyy uh not much on the portal arc sorry guys
- portal takes a year after the witherstorm
- ivor and jesse have definitely bonded a lot since then
- i know damn well jesse and ivor yap buddies
- they yap under the stars about literally nothing and everything at the same time it’s crazy
- let it be know DAMN well when pama mentioned rueben something in jesse snapped
- like not obviously but it definitely repeated in jesse’s mine repeatedly
- i don’t even know if jesse had time to fully recover from pama’s remark
- if i remember correctly it was like pama’s world IMMEDIATELY to goddamn hypixel land
- but jesse def was fumbling a bit bc of like pama’s remark
- but then whats-his-face brought human rueben to taunt jesse and failed and that made jesse giggle for a bit
- but yeah after jesse got home jesse broke down again
- really thinking about pama’s remark on rueben
- “failed to save rueben” goddamn
- jesse was comforted by petra though
- wow i did not talk much about lukas sorry lukas fans
- anyway enough about lukas season 2 admin arc
- fuckass admins i haven’t gotten to replay it yet so my memories on this are fuzzy
- hi did i ever re-mention the friendship necklaces the treehouse trio had
- they NEVER took it off even after every single thing
- they tucked in behind their armor but it was always still there
- rueben’s necklace is at his memorial too don’t worry its not JUST the pork chop
- jesse is so vegan..
- uh admin arc is like 3 years after portal arc
- so everyone would be 25-26ish?? idk count my math
- radar is 21 though
- this means rader was 16 years old during the witherstorm arc
- do u guys remember his bitchass tattoo
- he def got a tattoo of the witherstorm on a drunken whim one day that he definitely regretted until he became thug
- jesse likes radar
- to jesse radar reminds her of who she used to be, which is sweet to jesse
- if not a little bit jealous-ing
- guys stella has the biggest fattest crush on jesse no one even lie to me
- “oh jesse my RIVAL my ARCH NEMESIS oh how i HATE her so much hehehehe time to start roleplaying as her teehee!”
- stella definitely wanted jesse
- did jesse want her back..maybe
- jesse has two hands and they’re for petra and stella
- maybe though i need to replay the games and see
- this will definitely get updated once i replay season 2
- sweet god there is something wrong with me
#mcsm#mcsm f!jesse#mcsm headcanons#guys im actually insane#i wrote this for me and the imaginary fans in my head#but mostly me#i am my own imaginary fans

for @stigranselm
Soren scanned the dining room one more time, mouth twisted into a small frown as his fingers tapped against the bartop. He'd given into his nerves and showed up for their appointment early, nursed two drinks to take off the edge and cut himself off halfway through the second -- there was no affording being tipsy at such a crucial venture. It was a small venue, but fine quality: public to afford Soren meager bit of safety, not so far from the castle that Stigr would be unwilling to accept his invitation, sparing on details as it was. All he had to do now was wait.
Soren had bet on intrigue to be enough to lure the vampire down from the hilltop and miraculously it had worked. Ever since he'd learned exactly which councilmen were currently in Oymyakon, he'd been steeling himself for this encounter. The odds that Soren could make his way in Krovstown and ingratiate himself with the castle to any degree without being recognized by his father's old business partner were next to none. If Stigr outed him in the belly of the beast, it would be a disaster. If he refused to look the other way now, then the game would be over before it had even begun, but at least Soren might get a running start. And if he agreed...
Stigr was a business man, after all. Soren wasn't totally sure what exactly the councilman might want for his silence, but he was determined to find out. It wasn't as if he had much of a choice. He'd very nearly reversed his decision and ordered a third drink after all when he caught at first look at his guest in the mirrored wall behind the bar. It was like being transported back in time watching the vampire cross to where Soren leaned into his chair, not a hair on Stigr's head seeming to have fallen out of place in the last decade since they had seen each other. Immortal. He would have to put more effort into wrapping his head around that here.
"Councilman Anselm," Soren turned quickly, voice far more calm than he felt. He extended a hand, meeting Stigr's eyes, every lecture in Viraj's office about setting the proper tone for a negotiation running through his mind again, "It's a pleasure. I appreciate you taking the time to meet. Should I assume that we both understand why I asked you to come here today?"
