Molly/King falling into a relationship with Caleb after all the longing stares and tender forehead kisses and little clawing fragments of memory that make him feel just a little bit less Empty. Tealeaf spending his first night at the tower when Essek and Caleb are already in a relationship and just...falling right into step with them.

The wizards never sleep. He brings some little potion for nightmares he's kept hidden away for a rainy day. Makes them some nice tea gifted to him by the Clays. He sings some old song from the Circus--or was it the Moonweaver? Or the familiar tiefling couple from distant dreams? Who sang it first? Their faces are all a blur, and he can't remember--but the lines stay with him. Every word. And he lulls them to sleep the way others did for him so long ago.

He slips coin into Caleb's pockets when they go out for drinks. He brings back some magical curiosity salvaged at sea for the Magic Man and pretty elf to tinker with, just to see their eyes light up. He teaches Essek how to embroider one quiet, cozy evening. The two of them curled up by the fireside with their Magician and cats.

Essek calls him their stray--a little joke of Caleb's. And it still makes Tealeaf smile, finally having a place to stay--

What's your favourite weird video game controller/peripheral? 🤔

Main one that's coming to mind right now is the Dreamcast Fishing Controller.

It looks fairly unassuming, but it's secretly a motion controller!! You can use it to play SoulCalibur as if you were swinging a sword or swing your tennis racket in Virtua Tennis!! Why does it do all this!!

Now if only it was compatible with Big the Cat's fishing sections in Sonic Adventure....

You have seen Ess' "mother", his name is Cahn! :) No I'm not joking The Emperor is intersex that has bore and sired many children himself. And it so happened that that Ess is one of the children he bore directly. The purple also comes from Cahn! The Emperor's black coloration is on the purple scale. The father himself is a very light coloration, almost on the albino scale. So it just brightened the coloration Ess otherwise would have had! And Elisse is adorable, I'm glad you agree! Good, I meant it when I said Daemon is good at hugs! His limbs are long and strong, and he loves snatching people up! The most perfect candidate for it. :)

Did you know that a lot of the assets for the Special Stages in Sonic CD were completely redrawn for the 2011 remake to be 25% wider?

There's actually a pretty good reason for this! The Special Stages in Sonic CD make use of the Sega CD's scaling capabilities, which let it rotate and scale graphics in a way not too different from Mode 7 on the SNES

HOWEVER, due to the Sega CD still needing to pass its graphics manually to the Genesis its hooked up to, this sort of effect takes up a lot of CPU time just from transferring graphics and the like! One trick Sonic CD uses to be able to display the stage at a decent framerate is to make sure it only uses up a portion of the total screen, but another optimization is to make the screen itself smaller!

The Special Stages run in a 256 pixel wide resolution mode (which makes the graphics look "squished" when looking at raw pixels. Notice the planet in the background!) as opposed to the usual 320 pixel wide resolution Sonic games tended to stick to (which makes a near-perfect 4:3 aspect ratio). Since the image would be drawn into a 4:3 CRT TV, it would stretch itself back to a 4:3 aspect ratio anyways, and so the graphics are drawn squished to counter that.

The problem. When using a modern display, stretching the graphics back to their 4:3 aspect ratio can result in nasty scaling artifacts, whereas displaying them using square pixels would result in the graphics looking too skinny. The solution? Just draw them all wider!

As a small bonus fact, Sonic 2's Special Stages also use this lower resolution mode. However, the 2013 remake fails to account for the aspect ratio squish at all, resulting in the special stages being noticeably skinnier there compared to the original....
