After passing out from radiation exposure, dick wakes up in the cave to Alfred treating him. He confesses to not saving blockbuster when he could have and Bruce walks in to ask him why he didn’t. Dick admits it was because for just a moment he didn’t want to. He then rushes to assure Bruce he never wanted anyone dead before that (save joker and Zucco) and Bruce tells him that he can forgive dick for losing sight of the value of blockbusters life. What he can’t forgive is dick losing sight of his own. (Nightwing Vol.2 #117)

#maplestory #looked through my folder of amusing pictures again and saw this #not sure why i wanted to meme this one but you know what. sure here we go #tfw realizing again that cadena and illium came out 7 years ago #i wonder if they'll update the character portraits for them + ark + maybe adele since they are now years old #maybe if we see another blockbuster but it seems like nexon isn't interested in doing blockbusters after heroes of maple #according to namu wiki heroes of maple got a lot of controversy for how the characters were depicted #stuff like luminous and phantom fighting or mercedes having a hair trigger temper was too out of character #and also i think people just didn't really like how the blockbuster was structured #so that's probably why we never saw them do another blockbuster after heroes of maple...#the fact that they've updated black heaven and heroes of maple recently does give a bit of hope that blockbusters aren't entirely abandoned #but eh. as much as i would like to see them do a blockbuster again i don't really see nexon in its current state doing it

the theater near me closed so now the closest one is at least two and a half hour away. should I take the journey to see Nosferatu or not

I always lose a bit of respect for someone when they reference this essay. idk what it is about it that I hate so much – maybe because it has that whiny meandering “stoned in my freshman dorm room” quality about it? is it film criticism? can you call it that? who knows. I don’t, I just know it’s some of the worst dogshit I’ve ever read in my life.

Sometimes Tumblr can be a distressing place, but if I really wanted to suffer I bet I could go on Reddit and say that Kirsten Dunst is a better actor than both Tobey Maguire and James Franco to see what the fanboys have to say to that

#they hated jesus because he told them the truth you know?#the point is i have seen/read some things i wish i hadn't here #but at least most of the spidey fans don't buy into the misogyny surrounding popular perception of MJ or like #go out of their way to laud the male actors for every little quirk in their performance while ignoring the women #and this is from someone who loves tobey maguire and will watch a movie exclusively because alfred molina or willem defoe is in it #kirsten dunst's performance is perfectly on point and i would not change anything about the way she portrayed the character #her career in the years since has also been great even though we don't see her in huge blockbusters anymore #she has more discerning taste in projects

was thinking about how titans tower wasn't even a murder attempt canonically and tim was conscious and aware and able to stand up in the direct aftermath so even though jason was all 'let me show you what the joker did to me' he straight up didn't. lol.

but then it's like. this is the guy who was maximizing his capability for murder over the course of like a year max, if you're pushing the timeline. that's not a lot of time to grasp control over the various techniques. he's three years out from bruce's nonlethal training at this point. so far he's mostly been fighting (1) random goons (2) competent people he wants to kill and (3) batman. who's to say he remembers how to hold back and pull his punches. who's to say he doesn't accidentally kill tim because he wasn't careful enough controlling his strength.

#and then i had a fully fleshed out fic concept in my brain over the course of like. an hour. and i have doomed myself to this forever #featuring dick giving jason the rhato 25 beatdown potentially to the actual death instead of the brink of it #because he did murder the joker about it when he thought tim was dead. and if he's unwell about blockbuster's death at the right angle #i could see it happening #it'd interrupt jason's uth plans and skip over the final confrontation and infamous batarang incident #and i think no matter how jason feels about this internally (because it was accidental! it fucked up his plans! it wasn't even about tim!)#no matter what. i think he'd maximize the malicious glee he presents to bruce & dick. see: his reaction to bludhaven blowing up #anyway since tim had actual friends and a support structure they are definitely going after jason for this. vs when jason had zero friends #so nothing happened to the joker after bruce's lukewarm attempt to kill him #so jason gets to learn the same lesson he did at the end of canon tt29: “...if i had friends... would my life have turned out differently?”#two months later they find the tied up desiccated corpse of the joker in one of jasons abandoned safehouses because jason already caught hi #prior to going off to san francisco #i'm nto brave enough to maintag this sorry

Something fun I noticed is many Gravity Falls Fans are Ponyo fans.

You all are correct btw, that is the best movie.

#maplestory #i remember seeing a comic years ago on twitter joking about this exact premise #basically the black mage gearing up to fight only to be like wait...there's a lot of you... *gets vaporized*#but i didn't save it and it might be gone by now since a lot of maple artists seem to have left thanks to the kms controversy last year #i wish but also kinda don't wish we had blockbusters again because heroes of maple let us actually see the playable classes working togethe #and it actually felt like the playable classes had a role in the setting other than being the player character past their prologues #but the blockbusters were also kind of a pain to play through and heroes of maple had wonky characterization #so much so in fact that they straight up rewrote the story which we're about to get with the next patch #and like. iirc heroes of maple wasn't received that well #with one of the criticisms being that people who weren't playing the heroes didn't like that they weren't playing as their character #and another being. well. playing through it was kind of annoying #but i would at least like to see something like heroes of grandis...

I have trivia about something random for you! Did you know that Jurassic Park is actually more accurate than Jurassic World? This is due to the fact that the gallimimus hands in the OG JP aren't pronated, yet they are in Jurassic World

I have heard about how the original movie was fairly accurate in some parts, at least for its time. IIRC we have more knowledge about how dinosaurs actually looked like by the time that Jurassic World released, because people got interested in paleontology after watching the original films

Are there more parts of the series that are accurate with its depiction of dinosaurs that you know about?

#I also know that the original film was important for the usage of CGI and have meant to look into that but havent gotten around to that #it does make sense that there was less accuracy in parts with Jurassic world since that was made to be more of a blockbuster action film #jurassic park

the fact that im not seeing barbie til saturday is utterly darksided.. the whole zeitgeist will have flipped by then, the backlash to the backlash will have already started… already beaten to the punch by australians, europeans, sick freak thursday preview enjoyers… every plot point drawn up and debated and delineated as problematic/non problematic 0.2 seconds into the theatrical run… entire discourse cycles lost, like tears in rain.. it’ll be long past passè by saturday. how am i supposed to have a clear head. how am i supposed to evaluate this feminist masterpiece/disturbing capitalist propaganda critically in these conditions

#plus im going with a big group of normie girls who have already made it their whole personality #and will definitely be tipsy going in like. i am not doing real film criticism for this #its ok ive long since proven i can be a brainless blockbuster enjoyer but also lady bird is one of my favorite movies so who can predict #the fallout. Ah well nevertheless
