Very, very, very random thoughts:

I’m really having fun getting my save just how I like it for my stories. My random gameplay is helping a lot with that. Carmelo’s story will be like a little mini series, if you will. I want there to be a clear beginning, middle, and end point. I want to challenge myself to write-write because it’s been years since I’ve actually done that (outside of creatively writing when I was in school). But gameplay is what’s helping me get to know everyone and guiding the “cinematic” side of things.

I am slowly but surely working on my navigation and organizing my blog a little. I’ve also decided on a story title and I’m having all the fun putting together the moodboard & playlist. 😊 I initially wanted to go a completely different route with things but just by playing them, they’ve ultimately set things up for me (which I can’t deviate from cause now I can see the vision).

But ya’ll know this game breaks every 3 business days, so I’m just taking my time and trusting the process but I can’t wait for ya’ll to follow along. Plus, I know ya’ll love ya’ll some Papa & He loves ya back 😂

Also, at some point this year (when life settles down a bit), I will be starting a YouTube channel (FINALLY) and will also do more sim dumps. I’m still working on the 6 Townie Makeover challenge even though it’s a month later 🤦🏽‍♀️ The fact that it’s already March is beyond me but we’re gonna get there. Fingers crossed that I can FINALLY release this damn Machinima that I’ve also had outlined for a few years now. 😩 Girl, life has been slangin’ me by my damn ponytail for years at this point but we’re getting somewhere this year.

So, the moodboards will be coming out slowly throughout the day as I don't want to clog people's feeds! In the meantime, I'm queuing up asks and drafts. Might finally fire up the Sims 3 to make Michael and Trevor, just gotta find a good legacy challenge to do for them <33

Super excited to say that I finally created a character page for my Not So Berry challenge! It took forever but it was worth it. I don't know how many people read my blog but if you like my sims take a trip over there to learn some little details about them! Not available for mobile at the moment :/

-My favorite part is the little character portraits (not shown here, they appear when you hover over each character!). They look so good and I had a lot of fun taking them.

-Not everyone is included of course, the Berrys are a huge family! This page is for the characters who I'm most connected with and who have more story elements.

-It's still under a little construction- no moodboards yet, but I'm planning on starting them soon. And of course more characters will be added in the future, there's still 6 more heirs left until the end of the challenge! 😱

Man, I don't know how I expect myself to concentrate in class today when the SIM Card and Social Media Registration Act is about to be passed into law on *Friday.* That bill is going to nullify our right to privacy and endanger our cyber safety. It's going to make us more prone to hacking/doxxing and, on top of that, makes red-tagging easier. I don't know how I'm supposed to go on about my day when there is a whole bill that is going to endanger us all.

Xennial-approved.

Analog childhood. Digital adulthood. Best of both worlds.

Long ramble below:

Xennial is a micro-generation between Gen X and Gen Y (Millennials); born between 1977 and 1983. Also called the Star Wars generation since those are the same years that the original trilogy came out. We don't fully identify with Gen X experiences because we were babies/young children when major events happened. We had experiences as teens/adults that Millennials did not; the Gulf War, 9/11, the OJ trials. I was one of those schoolkids who watched the Challenger blow up on live TV in my classroom.

I had a choice between going outside to play (bit boring since I was the only kid in the neighborhood) or play inside with dolls or action figures. I would put on a movie of some kind and then use my toys to act out what was happening on the screen.

I remember being the only one in the house who knew how to program the VCR. I remember thinking Teddy Ruxpin was the height of technology. Up there with Simon and Bop-It. I remember being the only one in the house who knew how to use the internet and having to steer my mom away from the first sneaky phishing scams. I remember asking my mom for a zip drive for Christmas because I needed to be able to save all of my university homework in one place (art school, so both artwork and papers). I remember when Amazon only sold BOOKS. (I bought several to do research on my senior thesis.)

I know how to use a fax machine, a payphone, a microfiche, a rolodex, a rotary phone, a flatbed scanner, a Scantron reader, and the entire gamut of cell phones. I know how to use Photoshop, Word, Excel, Premiere. I can build a (admittedly simple) website by myself because I taught myself HTML.

I was an ace at the original Super Mario Brothers on Super Nintendo. Pretty good with PlayStation (I remember the game Medievil, mostly). I've had accounts for WoW, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Lord of the Rings Online. These days, I play Sims 4 mostly.

My young childhood, I had LPs and a tiny kid-centric record player that was purple and pink. It could close up and had a handle so it could be taken places. I bought my first cassette tapes before I turned 10 (one was a Muppets compilation and the other was Meat Loaf's Bat Outta Hell). I got my first CDs in the late 90s (Alanis Morrissette, Tori Amos). Now, I have a Spotify list that consistently has to give me warnings that I've "Liked" too many songs. I once made mix taps/CDs for friends. Now I make moodboard playlists. I owned a record player, a boom box, a Walkman, a Discman, an MP3 player.

My parents bought into cable TV super early on (1983). I remember when the Disney Channel was brand-spanking new. I remember PRISM (Philadelphia Regional In-home Sports and Movies). Had a ton of VCR tapes. Had LOTS of blank tapes that I'd record movies off of cable onto. I used a heavy-as-fuck camcorder to film my senior thesis concert for uni. Got my first DVDs for Christmas of 2000 (Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and some other Disney movies). Started collecting Blu-ray discs in 2008. I had a Blockbuster membership. Joined Netflix back when they were still doing mail-in DVDs (which I always ripped to a blank DVD). Bought subscriptions to HBO Max and Disney+ pretty much the day they became available. Had a gigantic CRT television for a LONG time (like over a decade) until it bit the dust because a mover dropped it during a move).

I never had "nuclear attack" drills in school. I also never had "active shooter" drills. I only ever had fire drills. I was 13 when the Soviet Union fell. I was a senior at University when Columbine happed. I was a year out of college when 9/11 happened.

Best of both worlds, both at a frivolous level and at a very serious level.
