🎉 Sims Build Challenge: Redesign Our First House!

Wow! Even with the poll not being up for 24 hours, there’s already so much interest! Y’all are awesome! 💖 (Maybe I’ll think about making requests more often—but more on that idea later! 😉) More details about the challenge are below the cut!

The Guidelines:

I don’t want to restrict anyone’s creative process too much! Just because something isn’t our style doesn’t mean it won’t inspire us! So consider these more like guidelines to spark your creativity!!! 🌟

If someone could upload just a shell of the house (no cc) to the gallery so others (like myself) who aren’t builders can play around and join, that would be awesome and sooooooo appreciated! 🏠✨

My husband and I aren’t flippers or DIY people for major construction on a house. This means we won’t be doing any major overhauls like taking out walls or adding walls. So that would be a restriction in this building challenge. 🚫🔧

Our house definitely has a lot of potential, so feel free to renovate things! If you want an extra challenge of decorating it as is and making an older home look adorable and loved, please do so! We won’t be able to renovate all at once, so I’d love to see what y’all come up with. 🛠️❤️

Feel free to use CC or no CC! Again, I don’t want to restrict your creative process! 🖌️🖥️ I'm personally a fan of no CC homes in my personal gameplay. However, for this particular challenge go ham!

Use whatever iteration of The Sims franchise you would like to participate! I personally will be using TS4, I don't want to exclude anyone who enjoys playing the older version of the games!

Use whatever Sims 4 expansions/packs/kits/etc you have! If you use something I don’t own, well… I guess I have a reason to buy it! 😉

Interior Inspiration💡:

We both really like nature and natural light. We love minimalism, boho feel, clean, bright spaces with neutral or warm colors, and cozy vibes. Unique or character touches and warm lighting are a big plus! 🪴🌞 There’s a little book nook in the home that I’m very excited about! 📚 My husband is most excited about the backyard and landscaping! 🌳🌸 We have 1 dog and 2 cats! So go ham in making sure they feel the love too! Nova the dog is most excited about the dog door the house comes with (located in the kitchen)! 🐶🐱🐱 If I didn’t include any details that y’all may need or if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to message me! Unfortunately, I don’t have a floor plan of the house; otherwise, I’d include it for y’all!

Foundations for Families Challenge: Rebooted!

Inspired by an ask, this is a reboot of the Foundations for Families contest over at Mod The Sims 2 from 2012. I've reverse-engineered the original floorplans based on the surviving entry images, streamlined/loosened the rules, and hopefully this old contest will interest some players as a new challenge!

You can participate using any Sims game.

The challenge:

Pick one foundation blueprint below and assign it to one of the families below.

Place an empty lot and build a foundation that matches the blueprint exactly. You may use any lot size or type, position the foundation anywhere on the lot, and rotate the foundation however you like (but cannot mirror it).

Build something on the foundation according to the specifications of the family you picked.

You're done! Share with the tag #Foundations For Families Challenge or simply enjoy your handiwork!

The rules:

You can only use each blueprint and each family once; so at the end of the challenge you will have four different families with four different foundations.

You can have as many decorative floors/dormers as you want, but only the first one or two floors may be useable or accessible by Sims (after the foundation).

You can use any combo of the three basegame foundation types to build the blueprint, but stages can only be placed above existing foundations.

You can only build walls above foundation, and you cannot have flooring or roofs extend/"hang" over the edge of the foundation. This includes greenhouses, but excludes pool walls. Fencing, flooring, and awnings are allowed on the ground.

If you want to build a basement, go for it, but it must be contained entirely within the original foundation and cannot be visible from the outside. There may only be one level of basements.

The Barkworth Family - Mike and Meadow Barkworth both love the outdoors. They've always dreamed out having a beautiful log cabin home they can come back to after a long day of hiking and insect collecting. They would love for their house to be a traditional pine cabin, with a gorgeous fireplace in the living room. The bathroom(s) should be simple and in-keeping with the style of the house, and Meadow loves the idea of flowers, home-made quilts and decorations all throughout the house.

The Montenegro Family - Rain Montenegro is a struggling artist. Her house is filled with art projects in various states of completion, but she wants a studio in her house so she can escape the world and focus on her art. As for the rest of the house, simple, cheap furniture will do, as long as it's bright and colourful. Rain loves the colour green, but can't stand purple.

The Lewis Family - When Layton and Lucinda found out they were expecting it was the greatest day of their lives. When they found out they were having triplets? Not so much. Now their three daughters (athletic Lara, bookworm Leanne and musician Lorrie) are all teenagers, they are demanding their own rooms. Layton and Lucinda are happy to move, but want a large master bedroom and their own en-suite bathroom.

The Gravel Family - Tyler Gravel is a romantic, fitness fanatic and rising athlete. He wants his house to have a modern feel, and the wow factor that will impress all the ladies. A home-gym is a must, and a swimming pool outside would be his idea of perfection. Tyler also wants a guest bedroom for when his family fly in to town to watch his matches.

Hollywood Glamour Nightclub Challenge

Welcome, Sim architects, to the "Hollywood Glamour Nightclub Challenge!" In this challenge, you'll be tasked with creating a dazzling and extravagant Hollywood-style nightclub that's fit for celebrities to see and be seen. You must own the Get Famous Expansion Pack for this challenge.

Requirements:

Lot Size: Your nightclub must fit on a 30x30 lot or smaller.

Theme: Create a Hollywood-themed nightclub with all the glitz and glamour that celebrities crave. Think red carpets, chandeliers, and golden accents.

Dance Floor: Include a spacious and stylish dance floor where Sims can dance the night away. Use creative lighting and decor to make it pop.

Club Hangout: Design a section within the nightclub that serves as a cool hangout spot for Sims to socialize and mingle. This area should have comfortable seating, a bar, and perhaps some games or activities.

Up and Coming Hotspot or Hottest spot in town: Apply either of these lot traits to ensure that your nightclub is always buzzing with excitement and energy. This is required!

Celebrity-Worthy: Your nightclub should exude luxury and opulence. Use high-end furniture, decorations, and landscaping to make it truly worthy of celebrity guests.

1850s english manor - historically accurate

Hi! Here's the build I've been working on for the past two weeks. I've made plenty of homes for working-class and somewhat well-off folks, but I hadn't shared a mansion yet, so I was really excited to get this one done. It took me a lot of effort, and I had to cut back on the CC usage and simplify the interiors so Tray Importer wouldn’t crash when exporting the CC.

Anyway! This grand house features a beautiful garden, an entrance hall worthy of a mansion, and a library-living room that leads to the drawing room and dining room.

There are two full floors of bedrooms and bathrooms. The master bedroom is on the top floor and is split into two with a small hallway in between, so the lords of the house can sleep in their respective beds as tradition demands.

There’s also a nursery and a room for toddlers. The mansion boasts a large greenhouse and a full floor dedicated to the staff, where you'll find the kitchens and the servants’ quarters.

Antiquated Brindleton

An 1890s Decades Challenge Save File

This save has been almost a year in the making, but it's finally here! It includes a completely rebuilt Brindleton Bay inspired by historic New England towns and set in the 1890s. This save uses a light amount of historical cc and most of the packs.

Eight new residential lots

Seven new community lots

Six new households

Builds and households are all located in Brindleton Bay. The world is intended to be historically accurate to about 1890, though some liberties for functionality have been taken.

Builds in other worlds have been deleted. The necessary buildings, like dorms, active career lots, and the high school, have all been left in place.

Townies have been evicted, but not deleted, as I prefer EA townies to fully randomized townies.

If you’d like more period appropriate townies to add, the lovely @jewishsimming has some great historical ones to download and @cowplant-snacks has an amazing tutorial on how to manage your townies with MCCC.

REQUIREMENTS: I have all the packs except Batuu and some of the kits. I didn’t limit myself when building. I don’t have everything listed out here, but I will be uploading all the lots and households to my gallery, so if you’d like to know specific pack usage you’ll be able to check there. If you load in and things are replaced or missing and you think it looks obvious feel free to message me, I’m always happy to try to help you find something else that fits! This save includes historical CC, some is included in my download in folders and some you will need to download from the creators directly. The CC required is listed and linked below, you need to download these linked pieces in ADDITION to the included cc folders.

DOWNLOAD: There are five zipped folders to download, four of which contain included cc, and one which includes the save itself.

Download the "AB_SaveFile" folder, unzip it and simply move the file inside to your saves folder inside your Sims 4 folder (where your mods folder is located).

The included cc is in four folders (to allow for easier upload/download) for build, buy, clothing, and hair. Simply download the folders, unzip them, and place them in your mods folder.

After this you should be good to load up your game and get playing, let me know if you run into any issues, I'm happy to try to troubleshoot. 🎉 Sims Interior Decor Challenge: Help Us Design Our Dream Bedroom Suite!

Hey, neighbors! A while back, I asked if y’all would be interested in a build/decoration challenge, and there was such a great response! The lovely @winnaroo even went ahead and created a shell of our home and put it up on the gallery (what a gem!). But then… life happened. We moved really quickly, and Hurricane Beryl hit, which zapped my energy and inspiration.

Now things have finally settled down, and I’m ready to really start designing our home. And let me be honest—I seriously need help with our bedroom. It’s big, it’s spacious, and I have no idea what to do with it! 😅

So, I’m turning to this amazingly creative community for inspiration. Can you design our dream bedroom/bathroom suite? I’m no interior designer, but I know what I like: calm, earthy vibes with greenery, a touch of boho, minimalism, and unique details that make the space feel personal.

Here’s how it works:

The Challenge:

Design a master bedroom and bathroom suite that feels calm, earthy, and peaceful, with my style in mind. Think boho-meets-minimalism, lots of greenery, neutral tones, natural textures, and unique touches that reflect a cozy, laid-back vibe. I want the room to feel like a sanctuary.

Style Inspiration:

Calm & Cozy: Soft, neutral color palettes—think warm beiges, creams, soft greens, or muted blues. Earthy & Minimal: Incorporate natural materials like wood, linen, and plants. I love the idea of bringing the outdoors in! Boho Vibes: Textured rugs, woven baskets, macramé, and a mix of patterns for that relaxed, bohemian touch. Think of the vibes of a studio ghibli movie... That's the vibe I want of my home. <3 Unique Pieces: I’m a fan of one-of-a-kind details! Whether it’s a bold statement light fixture or a special piece of art, I love when something stands out. I'm cooking up a sims challenge!

The working title is The World After challenge. Years after a flu has wiped out most of the population you make your journey out into the world to find others and rebuild a community. You've lost all your gear in the fire that took out your last settlement, along with your community. You've ended up on the Crumbling Isle in Windenburg. Now it's time to set down camp, gather supplies, find other survivors, and choose the place you will rebuild. Will you set sail for the islands of Sulani? Start a ranch in Chestnut Ridge? Or hole up for the winter in Moonwood Mill. You miss the world before, but now it's time to build an after.

I'm working out all the rules and ideas rn with my sim, Midge, but I hope to someday post it as a real challenge! This is all majorly inspired by Station Eleven (def read the book or watch the show)

{FLASHBACK #1} Yoltic: The stars are aligning! One of my clients canceled on me.. wait, why did he? [Taps on phone aggressively]. Okay, Tony... paperwork, blah, blah, blah- whatever. Alright Dulce, are you still up for it?

{FLASHBACK #2} Daniela: Say hi to Tony for me.

{FLASHBACK #2} Yoltic: The bastard looks extra moody today, hm.

Dulce: Yikes. He sounds like a grumpy workaholic, but don’t worry. He and I will become besties.

Daniela: Um, maybe you should just focus on the legal consultation? That’s what you’re for.

Dulce: No, no. I got this. I can become friends with anybody.

Dulce: Even my biggest enemies like Hilary, Caruso, and my high school principal.
