Check versions of all these mods, I believe that Martial Arts mod has been broken for a few patches, including the fix provided in comments, don't know if someone fixed it. Always check your patch version is compatible with the mod and don't install too many at once, test them out.

Snowflake Day Tree + Activities

I actually started to make this two years ago and forgot about it but then I got the idea to do it again and remembered that I had already written most of the code. It was sort of like finding money in your pocket you'd forgotten about. 😂

Much like in real life, I prefer to spend my holidays in-game with family instead of randoms and I just want to open presents without having to throw a Gift Giving party. So I made a Christmas Snowflake Day tree to do that where you can decorate and add gifts to open on Snowflake Day.

I also added some holiday activities for kids and toddlers if you have the More Activities Activity Table. It's an add-on so you need that mod (and whatever requirements go with it) if you don't already.

Decorate the Tree (this is meant as a joinable group activity so you can invite others to join; up to 4 Sims (child+) can decorate) 

Add Tree Topper (if you have any)

Hang Ornaments (if you have any)

Turn On/Off Lights (if decorated)

Admire Ornaments (sims may get a nice holiday moodlet - Holiday Memories buff)

Add Gift for…

Look at Presents (get information on how many gifts are under the tree and to whom)

Steal Presents (only for Klepto, rebellious, Evil, Mean-spirited; you will get in trouble if someone sees)

Sneak a Peek at Presents - to check out any of your gifts

Invite Everyone to Open Presents - for Snowflake Day, brings everyone on the lot to open gifts under the tree; if someone doesn’t have gifts, they will watch others open presents and if they are in the household they will get a sad buff. Gifts improve relationship score if Sims like it; does nothing if they don’t but if they get too many gifts they don’t like, they can complain about it.

Open Gifts - self explanatory. If you don’t want to gather everyone together, you can open gifts at any time on Snowflake Day. Depending on how many gifts you like/don't like, you will get a special moonlet (Feeling Grateful/Bummer Holiday)

Put Away Tree

Sims can also:

Ask for holiday presents…Toy | Book | Vehicle | Computer | Electronics | Jewelry | Decor | Hobby Object | Sports Object

This is a one-time interaction that Sims can use on any family or household member. If a sim gets what they asked for, they will get a special buff (Just What I Wanted)

Thank for Presents (if they had a particularly good Snowflake Day)

Complain about Presents (if they had a bad one)

With the MAAT add-on, children and toddlers can also:

Make handmade ornaments and hang them on the tree. The ornaments can be stored in the decorations box.

Make handmade Snowflake Day cards for friends and family (kids only). You can give them directly to Sims or put them under the tree as a gift.

Notes and Recommendations:

To be able to utilize all the tree features, make sure there is enough space around the entire tree for Sims to gather and interact with the tree

Your Sims need to have a giftable object in their personal or household inventory to add a present to the tree

When a Sim has asked for a gift, the game checks whether any of the gifts they receive are in the same buy subcategory or object type as what they asked for so if, as example, a kid asks for a toy and you get them a cc toy that is categorized as a plant or deco object in the game, it’s not going to count. 

To gift jewelry, you need the TS3 Store Jewelry Machine or any custom wearable jewelry objects that is the same object type as the Store Jewelry box object

If you don't have my activities table mod and don't want it, then don't download the two MAAT files.

Details and Instructions:

The tree and box can be purchased in the Entertainment/Hobbies Section (300 and 200, respectively), the tree topper in the Misc Deco (90) or they can all be found in the custom Snowflake Day collection file.

To decorate the tree, your Sim needs both the tree object and the decorations box. Custom ornaments and tree toppers go into the decorations box.

The tree comes with a default decoration but you can create and add your own tree decorations. The file has an XML (HolidayTreeDecorations) where you can add the Resource Key, Group ID for the OBJD of the decoration, whatever name you want to call it, whether you want it to light up or not, and the image (if you don’t want a custom image, just use the default one in my first entry).

Extended "Tell a Story..." Interaction

A small default replacement (of sort) for this Apartment Life social. The original includes five "stories", each boosting a hobby and relations with a an AL social class: -> "Mechanics", tinkering, Gearheads. -> "Art", arts & crafts, Bohemians. -> "Sports", sports, Jocks. -> "Computers", games, Techies. -> "Economy", film and literature, Socialites. I added five for the missing hobbies; reusing the social classes: -> "Camping", nature, Gearheads. -> "Baking", cuisine, Bohemians. -> "Health", fitness, Jocks. -> "Science Fiction", science, Techies. -> "Orchestra", music and dance, Socialites. All the new stories use custom sprites in their speech bubbles. These are from the Sims 2, 3 and 4. Their action strings have localization for French, Russian, Polish, Spanish and Portuguese. Other game languages will display the basic US English. I also renamed the "Economy" story to "Celebrity" in the English localization. I replaced its sprites as well as some of the "Computers" story's. The preview image shows one of the "Celebrity" sprites. Internally, the mod replaces components of the existing interaction: BHVs, STRs, TXTRs, and the OBJD (but not its GUID). The only new resources are additional textures. As far as I've tested, it should be safe to remove. The game will simply go back to using the original "material". Well, I felt motivated to learn how to put together a custom violin package! Huge thanks to @lamare-sims for helping my feeble brain understand BHAVs!

There are 3 violins, but the "normal" violin has quite a few recolors, TS4 and custom. You are able to recolor once you've purchased the violin, same as the guitars. I've also included a violin bow default, though it's not required.

You will need argon's custom instrument mod for these to be functional!

Unzip the downloaded folder and place the tray files into your Sims 4 Tray folder, which can be found at Documents » Electronic Arts » The Sims 4 » Tray. Can also download from the gallery (gallery id: simplug)

Place cc files from the cc folder into the Mods folder located at Documents » Electronic Arts » The Sims 4 » Mods.

Make sure to download all the custom content and sliders in the cc folder or else your sim will look different than mine

Tamarack River Estate | Sims 2 House Download

This spacious country home is built on a 4x3 lot, and features 3+ bedrooms and 4 baths. It's lightly furnished and ready for you to move in to your rural, yet up-scale, sim neighborhoods.

Here's the back of the home: There's a porch for relaxing on, and at the end of the lot, a small pool.

You might have noticed that nice white wood fence in the picture of the back of the lot. This is a Maxis "Lost and Found" texture that Huge Lunatic at Mod the Sims found and assembled into a working fence! Since it's something Maxis included buried in the game files I don't really consider it custom content, but you might, so I've given you the option of downloading it further down in the post.

Here's the floor plan:

1st Floor: Clockwise from bottom left: Hobby studio, family room, laundry room, bathroom, kitchen, dining room, office, living room, and entryway.

2nd Floor: Clockwise from bottom left: Kids bedroom 1, kids bedroom 2, bathroom, master bedroom, walk-in closet, bathroom, work out space (could be converted into an optional 4th bedroom), bonus/play room, and bathroom.

I’ve run this home through the Lot Compressor so any random references to sims that aren’t there should be removed. I have also run this lot through the Lot Cleaner to remove any bits of buggy code. This lot comes with a shiny custom thumbnail so it has even more curb appeal in your Lots and Houses bin! 😄

This home has 3 pieces of CC, which you may already have in your game. These can easily be replaced or omitted if you don’t want them though.

Most of this stuff's pretty clear-cut, but I wanted to just explain a few quick things.

The Alfheim Light Crystals, Bifrost, Idunn Apple, and The Light all have Fullbright, so they always glow, even if you turn the lights off. (The Idunn Apple mesh is a wee too big for my liking, but oh well.)

Elven "Family" Lock as Decor (Animated)

Fully recolorable. This was cloned from a clock, so the pieces turn as the big/little hands turn on EA's clocks. I've never actually caught it at the right time when all the pieces properly align, esp. since I use the Time Mod like crazy and never really know what time it is in-game.

The juice is regular kid-friendly juice, but the wine is strong alcohol only for adults (*cough* Kratos wtf were you thinking giving your kid 1000yr old alcohol to drink, someone call CPS on this fool! *cough*). So now your Spartan sims of all ages can safely & responsibly enjoy sippin on gin & juice~! 🥂 As always, the mesh clipping into their faces is out of control, but oh well.

Okay, I watched the trailer, and I’m gonna try to avoid echoing what’s already been said about the upcoming expansion in the YT trailer’s comments by instead explaining how EA rlly could’ve use this pack’s theme as an opportunity to garner good will, and also make more money, while pushing a more modular aspect to The Sims 4’s DLC structure.

Make Get to Work FREE. The pack is how old??? Nearly as old as the base game, and much like the base game it’s absolutely showing its age, both in style and gameplay, esp now this new pack is coming out. Giving it away for free would’ve given the Free 2 Playness of the BG a much needed revival, grown the player base, and just given a lotta ppl who still haven’t bought it probably bc it’s old as sin, a means to rejoice. Throw in a light refresh, like new objects for bonus good company points.

Make the new lot options Base Game. Mostly bc I’m sick of seeing what feels like BG content get put behind a paywall ( looking at you For Rent ), and being pushed as this huge selling point, when I rlly would’ve rather had some more of something else, like BANDS 😤. With GTW accessible to all players, it could’ve easily been implemented to BG, or I’d like to think it’d be easy for EA since I’ve seen at least two gr8 mods that have allowed you to run business outta your sims house since 4ever.

Bring back GamePacks. I’m probably weird, but I actually loved these little bitches, but I know EA probably loathed them bc gameplay, and a world, for only $20 🤨 ??? Though hear me out EA… 3 ( three ) GamePacks, all focusing on one aspect, in this case hobbies you can monetize, but that add 2 hobbies each, and play on different themes, like an art one, music one, and food one… ig ??? Idk, sims love food apparently. Either way, we would’ve gotten more skills, more CAS, and more Buy Build and gameplay, and EA would’ve made an extra twenty bucks off of completionists.

I’m still waiting to see what else could be in this pack, although a lot of what’s in it has already been detailed, and it ain’t a lot imo, but this has been happening a while now ( looking at you again For Rent ). I get that EA has to bring in money to keep the lights on, and that they might “allegedly” be in a tough position rn financially, but I’d also like to think they kinda put themselves there? Like how is it our responsibility as the fans to keep a company afloat that isn’t rlly doing enough to entice us to open our wallets, and instead look to other means to acquire it.
