I had a dream last night that me and a couple of girls were lined up in a girls locker room at a school. correct me if i'm wrong but like...the whole angle of "wukong felt there wasn't a choice when it came to killing Macaque" is kinda offsetting to me?? Like am I missing something?

to not have a choice....Wukong would have to feel as if he's backed into a corner and there's no other way to solve this. But Wukong is also a tenfold immortal being, so it wasn't and couldn't have been because he felt threatened and feared for his life -- that's deadass not possible with his body composition and all the immortality AND invincibility he has going on.

another option would be if Wukong was forced to kill by the Jade Emperor or other divine beings or even the circlet, but we don't know that, so I'm really perplexed as to where this take is coming from.

The only way...I can see is like, Macaque was a genuine threat and Wukong recognized that there was no stopping him (which is kinda what sounds like what happened in S5 but again, we don't know) but, at that stage in the journey, Wukong wouldn't kill?? He'd try every other option, and this monkey knows how to summon golden chains to restrain someone, like??

Macaque could've possibly given him an ultimatum? But again, Wukong knows ways to apprehend a demon without killing them.

There is SO MUCH about the Macaque/Wukong fight we don't know. We don't know if Wukong was forced. We don't know who else was there. Technically, we don't know when, exactly, it happened in the journey, which makes a big difference. We just know that it happened and it traumatized them both.

So, unless I am missing some insider information, I don't understand this. We know fuck all about this fight, and the longer I stay in this fandom, they more I'm seeing people treat their headcanons as fact and parade them around like they actually happened when that's not the way things work.

But people are assuming things now and saying it's true...and it's just awkward because they're inferring a lot about what happened, and it's just puzzling. We can talk all day long and put clues together and think up theories, but if it's not portrayed in the show, it's not canon.

Unless Wukong was possessed or controlled or made to do it by some divine being, then it makes sense, but otherwise?? I'm just 🧍‍♀️
