We have been throwing around the word #holocaust for Palestine and #silentholocaust for Congo for some time now. But I was curious: where does that term comes from? And...it's as bad as you think...

My heart truly breaks. Something has to be done. And to actually know that Congo doesn’t own those mines is mind blowing. Peace needs to return in Congo.

Jedno słowo: KONIECZNIE. Ta książka wzbudziła we mnie i smutek i żal, i wstyd, i poczucie winy… Jeśli mielibyście przeczytać jedną książkę o Zagładzie, niech to będzie ta książka. ~~~ #Holokaust ⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ #internationalpolitics #politics #holocaustmemorial #silentholocaust #holocausthistory #internationalholocaustremembranceday #holocauststudies #holocausteducation #holocaustday #holocaust #holocaustremembrance #holocaustmemorialday #freedom #holocaustrememberanceday #holocaustbooks #worldpolitics https://www.instagram.com/p/CTHqKEdMjLn/?utm_medium=tumblr

My country is bleeding.
million deaths in DRCongo, one of the most deadly conflict since World War II. And it just recently just came to more deaths!!!!
The horror, still, in Beni, in the great north Kivu, east of the DR Congo.
Kivu is one of the territories that has experienced the most atrocities since the Second World War. In east Congo. Wars, rapes and diseases have took so many lives. This GENOCIDE should be officially recognized.
This country is dying in the total indifferences, ressources keep being stolen and politicians keep getting richer on the population.

This May I will celebrate my birthday with a 10-day Romanian Jewish Heritage tour. I will be visiting Holocaust memorials, Jewish communities, and Synagogues to learn more about the Romanian Silent Holocaust and my family’s links to these communities. Click to learn more about this mission... #SilentHolocaust #HolocaustInRomania #RomanianJewishHeritage

As a Jew I just want to tell you how insulting, offensive, disgusting, and ignorant you are for comparing the holocaust to abortion. Abortion is about someone saying what they want or do not want inside their bodies, not about exterminating an entire race of people. I don't care if a couple Jews think your comparison is legitimate, most of us do NOT and the fact you think it's totally okay for you to carry on with it is repulsive.
You make claims with no justification.
MOST of you do not think it is a valid comparison? Did you survey the entire Jewish community?
Most importantly, though, you say this parallel is invalid. I've given you evidence (the similar use of language of Nazi's and pro-abortionists) that the movements are quite similar. Denying that there is a connection and saying you find it offensive merely tells me that you refuse to see what has been laid out for you in order that you might avoid a moral dilemma: that abortion is in fact as horrific and tragic as the Jewish Holocaust.
So if this is what you hold to be true, that there exists no parallel, then defend it. Why do these parallels hold no significance in equating the morality (or immorality) of abortion and the holocaust?
