Amid the quiet, subtle signs of life flicker like neon beacons, whispering of untold stories and echoes of laughter in empty streets.
The city may seem dormant, yet with each glimmer it reminds us: resilience runs deep and the spark of life is never fully extinguished.
Neon lights pierce through the fog, hinting at life just beneath the surface. In quiet corners, something grows, something holds on.
This isn't the end, it's simply the waiting 🌿

The way that Rimmer just snaps in Waiting for God when Lister is talking about the cat religion and how he doesn’t want to be their God.
I don’t know what it is but something stands out to me in that episode like somehow Rimmer is really taking it to heart that Lister is whinging on about being God. And saying that iconic that I love rewatching: ‘I didn’t asked to be killed Lister. Life’s a bitch, now smeg off I’m busy.’
In the context of Rimmer flipping out, he was trying to find aliens so he can maybe get a body again. Maybe it was stressing him out therefore exploding in front of Lister. Maybe cus he had his own troubles but Lister was dumping his own troubles on top of it.
I think in the show’s timeline it has only been a couple months of them stranded in space and Rimmer is not entirely used to being a hologram yet. Granted he shouldn’t take his anger out on Lister but it could explain a bit of why he did. Especially when Rimmer got offended when Lister called the whole alien thing: ‘tot’.

The genocide in Gaza has not stopped, therefore we won’t stop either, not until Gaza is saved and Palestine is freed.
Don’t stop checking in on the reports about Gaza. Don’t stop talking and posting about it. Keep reblogging, retweeting, amplifying voices, calling and email senators/reps/etc.

…sometimes I just. Think about. How literal siblings get stuck with rumors they’re dating, and m-f friendships often don’t get a chance to truly start or develop because of the strain those assumptions and pressure causes…
…while literal same-gender and aspec-affirming couples get slapped with “like siblings” this and “just really good friends” that.
And then how this gets even more reductive with infighting like “m-f friendships can only occur when one of them is homosexual,” or aspecs picking at eachother over rep until it’s a very specific type of aroace on the aroace spectrum of the aspec spectrums (and nobody’s actually happy), and of course fanon ships pitted against gen-no-ships…
…and how everyone just ends up feeling stressed out and invalidated. Because anything—and I do mean anything—that doesn’t fit neatly inside of the heteronormative narrative of “men and women can’t be friends, men and women must be romantically involved, people of the same gender and/or aspec/any other queer identity(ies) must never date.”
And how it makes the queers and cichets alike absolutely miserable.

[Image description: a digital drawing of Thomas from Transatlantic holding Varian's hand and kissing his fingers while crying. We only see Thomas's face and their two hands covered in dripping blood. Behind them are black shards with designery red eyes on them. The pieces is coloured in desaturated blues with red accents. End description.]
We all have blood on our hands.
#transatlantic#lovefry#varian fry#thomas lovegrove#so uhhhh yeah if anyone remembers me saying i was sketching some ideas to do w how they met this is one of them#i started getting too many ideas in the middle of it so i kind of lost the original vision but thats ok bcs experimentation baby#basically the first idea was to have knives in the bg but then i was like glass shards bcs of the beer glass that was probably shattered#and bcs its less complex than a knife while still signifying violence (wanted simpler elements in this bad boy)#and then the eyes are all the people who just watched and the red signifies the underlying violence of being a silent observer#in these kinds of situations#and then i got distracted w thomas's suit lol bcs i accidentally did stripes and i was like omg criminal symbolism#and then i was like ok what if they werent normal stripes (bcs that strict angularity is more a part of varian's symbolism)#but instead were more scale-like bcs thomas is resilient but his throat is open bcs a part of his resilience is a lack of fear#of vulnerability#see what i mean by got distracted lol#it doesnt belong in this piece bcs it almost creates a second accent colour when red is meant to be the only one#but id love to do something w it in a different piece#thanks for coming to my ted talk it has to be in here bcs ill see this in 6 months having forgotten everything#and i hope u enjoy the drawing bcs if i cant be completely happy w it (artist disease) at least someone else might enjoy it#artist brain insists i shouldnt share it but i must face the horrors in order to grow /hj

Out in Banff tonight with this thought. When heartache rains down a flurry of blows until hope is spitting teeth. In a brief spell of reprieve, when the month breathes with a warm draft and the unbidden return of the cold tearing at comfort and gobbing out the bone. The roads begging for their destination as ghastly mist writhes down the rocky fangs of the mountains. The spirit succumbs to this…

Poem: Compassion Blossoms
In the winter’s chill, fatigue takes its toll,A silent struggle that steals its hold.In shadows of exhaustion, you stand,Seeking solace, a comforting hand. Amidst the snowflakes and the gloom,Your heart whispers in the quiet room.Lost in the battle, weary and worn,Yet in your words, a resilience is born. School’s path abandoned, relationships few,The isolation, a formidable view. But here, in…

In a city caught between shadow and light, neon glows whispers of a life that once was waiting to be revived.
Through the fog, silent streets hold their breath, longing for the sun to break through. The city waits for something powerful or someone brave enough to end this darkness.
And somewhere in hidden places, green life quietly grows a reminder that even in forgotten corners, hope endures 🌌☄️🌱
Sometimes, even when the night feels endless, it's only a moment before dawn.

Gratitude Diary
It’s been a pretty good week, I still pretty content. I still feel like I’m mentally insulated from everything going on around me and I’m focussed inwards. I guess the strength of this mental boundary will soon be tested as my new neighbours moved in yesterday. I haven’t met them yet and apart from a brief glimpse as they got off the boat in into their van, I haven’t seen them. I hope it stays…
