Silly headcanon: But I think it would be funny if a hypothetical relationship between Frigg and Sigyn had similar vibes to Odin and Loki's relationship.

Frigg can't stand Sigyn sometimes but keeps her around anyway because she's like an annoying little sister to her.

Then, the whole situation to do with Baldr and Narfi's deaths happened. Which leads to them both ending up absolutely hating eachother, but somehow they still also end up missing eachother as well after Sigyn choses to stay in the cave with Loki.

Me at midnight Sunday: I have a thousand things to do this week, but I can include speculation on how season 2 is going to end into the ending of this Sylvie/Sigyn fic that will probably be disproven after Thursday. I can finish this fic I've barely started, on top of work and DnD and everything else, and get it revised and posted before 8 on Thursday. And with enough time for some people to read it before the show fucks up the narrative. This is feasible. Me, 12 hours before episode 4 airs: I have made a grave error.

I think it's ironic how Sigyn stans prop up her gentleness as the reason why she's the superior Loki love interest (because she's the only one who can treat him with the kindness he deserves, unlike those other bitches that he dated that were so mean to him), when it's canon that her softness was the main reason he though she was so annoying in the comics, and if you look at the pattern of the women Loki has been attracted to in the comics (not just classic loki, but kid loki and ikol too) you'll see he loves a woman with an edge and doesn't mind being on the receiving end of that edge (see: "you love a woman who can crush you like an ant, brother" Thor about Angrboda). Marvel Loki will never be into Sigyn the way her stans want him to be because Loki is canonically drawn to women who take none of his shit and have no problem calling him a bitch to his face when he's being one and Sigyn is not that type of woman.

ngl this is just a silly post I made while goofing around, but finding out the two sides to this newfound issue are either "Akechi is a Norse mythology nerd and goes online to write essays on how badly Marvel messed everything up" or "Akechi actually kins MCU Loki due to his own relationship with Shido and his mother versus MCU Loki with Odin and Frigga" is actually hilarious.

If Persona 5 begins during 2016, this would mean Akechi previously awakened to Loki during the prime time of MCU Loki being a tumblr sexyman. Do whatever you’d like with that information

So I'm Writing a (Somewhat) MCU-Compliant Loki/Sigyn Fanfic

And it's possible that by the time this post goes up, I will have completed and published the fic. (I'm really hoping this does not cause me to procrastinate.) I desperately want to talk about it, but I also don't want to risk talking about stuff that ends up getting cut when I revise, and like I said, the more I draw attention to it publicly, to more my brain historically likes to shy away from actually finishing it.

So instead I'm both queueing this for hopefully a date after it's already been published or close to publication, and instead of talking about it, I'm going to post my playlist for it. This is pretty strictly fic vibes, so it's not necessarily 100% relevant to the plot and many songs likely don't sync up to the more widely fandom-accepted headcanons for the ship.

Sleeping Sickness, by City and Colour: This is the song I was listening to when I conceived of the fic idea (which is pretty incredible, because I haven't been able to listen to City and Colour for like a decade, so I usually skip it when it comes on. (Bad break-up+inability to remember which C&C song really fucks me up = 10 years of skipping all C&C songs.) I was distracted by Loki/Sigyn posts and let the song play.) So the working plan is the fic title is going to come from one of the lyrics, but I haven't decided which lyric yet.

Let me set the scene:

For the past year and a half, I've been working on developing a longfic featuring a Thor 2011 Loki and an OC Sigyn. Honestly, I don't think that I'll get around to posting it anytime soon (there's still so much work to be done on it), but it's constantly on my mind. It's sort of a hybrid concept of the MCU, Norse Mythology, my own ideas, OCs, and magic systems. It has an epic scope with multiple arcs and characters from most of the Nine Realms. Do you like characters with wings? I got you covered. An imminent threat to the Nine Realms? Check. An in-depth analysis of Ásgarðr and Jǫtunheimr's history uncovered during Loki's identity crisis? A Jǫtunn OC? A Laufey that never wanted to lose his child? Check, check, and check.

I've found it hard to talk to people about all this because it involves a LOT of worldbuilding. Epic fantasy definitely isn't for everyone and this will not be a "light" read. Some non-fanfic stories that have inspired me along the way include the Roots of Chaos series by Samantha Shannon (The Priory of the Orange Tree and A Day of Fallen Night) and Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. So if you like those types of stories, you might like the ideas I come up with.

If you relate to anything I've said, I also want to mention that I would love to hear about your ideas as well! If you feel trapped inside your own head and feel hesitant to "info-dump" on people, I am the person for you. And hey, maybe we can inspire each other :) Fanfiction is not about gatekeeping, and I have been unabashedly inspired by so many different takes on Loki that I've read along the way.
