The Loki series introduced some fun little Norse mythology bits to the Marvel universe and I think it would be really cool to find a way for Mobius to be with Loki as a nod to Sigyn.
By the end of season 2, Mobius doesn't seem to have a place to me. He's not really part of the TVA and he's also not really in his own timeline with Earth.
So I feel like we could find a way for Mobius to help Loki, alleviate some pain or loneliness. Maybe he wipes a tear from Loki's eye, à la Sigyn holding the bowl.
I feel like the show stopped in a good place, but if there is another season or some reference in future MCU movies, I would love to see something like that.

THANK YOU SO MUCHHH 💝💝😭😭
Tumblr media
I still think they should introduce her.
Cause i don’t want ‘Loki’s wife’ but they could just be like ‘SIGYN NORSE GODDESS OF VICTORY’ and boom she’s already goated w out Loki.
As much as i wanted them to make Loki x Sigyn. If i can’t have that then i just want Sigyn cause i’ll choose her over Loki tbh.
Mainly cause i had the same stuff w Poseidon and other gods i liked. I liked them then find out about their wife and love their wife more instead cause they’re all so underrated and cool while most fandoms treat them so badly😭
Made a coloring Loki pannel fr

Hello hello, it’s that time again!
I am looking for people who plan to watch the Loki series season 2 - especially those who plan to view each episode as soon as/soon after it drops - and are willing to screen it for me. I can explain the exact triggers I would need to be warned of in DM.
I would need, ideally, general warnings of some specific violent content, if certain words are spoken, etc. - and ideally, timestamps of these to make viewing the series easier. I have severe PTSD, but not all of my triggers are “caught” in things like parents guides (and those can take a while to update).
I would be extremely grateful to anyone willing to help me out on this. Loki is my special interest and very very important to me, and viewing/working with the series is an important part of my therapist and I’s plan of helping me heal from trauma, but I need help to do so. 💙

Note about this post! These aren’t all the spring flowers, just the ones I have more knowledge about and personal experience with. This list is mostly based on my own interpretation and how I’ve come to associate certain flowers with specific deities throughout my journey as a pagan witch. I’m aware there are many other deities connected to flowers, but these are the ones that came to mind while I was taking notes. I also want to mention that color is probably one of the most important aspects when it comes to associating flowers with deities. For example, Lady Athena is connected with all white flowers, Lady Aphrodite with pink ones, and Dionysus with any purple flower. Elements also play a role, flowers carry elemental energy that can deepen their symbolism or connection to a deity. There are goddesses from different religions who are patrons of flowers and vegetation, like Flora, Chloris, and others, and they’re basically associated with all flowers, so I didn’t include them here since it felt kind of obvious. Whether a flower is traditionally associated with a deity or not, I just want to say, flowers make beautiful offerings, and your deities will absolutely appreciate any plant you choose to give them :D

Day 2: how do you imagine their first meeting in the myths, marvel /or in the MCU? (fanart, short stories or cosplay ^^)
In almost every universe of mine Loki meets Sigyn when he is at his lowest. He has lost everything. He has given up Sleipnir, his wife Angrboda and the children they had together to a prophecy he doesn't understand. He is angry, confused, grieving all because Odin could do it. And none of the gods bats an eye or cared, taking pity while he sat in misery.
Why would they anyway, to a terrible person and god such as Loki?
He knew they wouldn't change, not for him. He thought he would never make it out but then a certain victory goddess reached out. It didn't start with something too grand, just a simple "Hello" and asking if he was alright, still vigilant knowing very well who he was, but compassionate and kind enough to check in on him.
To Loki it was more life changing than anyone could ever know.
Everything started at his worst and ended at their worst, just because Loki brought so much misfortune.. Truly it was out of his control and it never meant that they didn't love. ✨💚

Day 4 - What would be your ideas for Sigyn Marvel Comic Reboot?
Establishing Loki as a chaotic neutral character. He's not a good guy and is more often than not the antagonist, but there is something that delights me that Loki being the god of mischief is just his job. That is just something he does, cause trouble. Where I would establish Sigyn as a quirky but loving wife that he comes home to at the end of the day of being a supervillain. The dynamic emphasizes the idea that his nefarious deeds are just part of his daily routine, almost like any other profession in the world of gods and monsters.
Sigyn is a person that most others simply can't seem to comprehend; She's the goddess of fidelity and a benevolent figure, she exudes an aura of sweetness and kindness, and her actions towards humans are always to help them. But the fact she is with Loki and she seems to borderline encourage his troublemaking tendencies has most others flummoxed. The relationship between the two of them is happy, but also something only the two of them really understand.

I finally got around to reading Lea Svendsen's book, Loki and Sigyn: Lessons on Chaos, Laughter, and Loyalty from the Norse Gods. While there were a few very minor things I disagreed with, it's something I think all Heathens and Loki-curious folks need to read. I wish there was a tad more on Sigyn, but there is just so much to say about Loki that it's not at all surpising that he dominates the text a little lol. It was such a good book.
But I didn't really come here to give a book review. I came here to share a few entries from the glossary. Because the way Lea describes a few things is just...😙🤌
Tumblr media
The last sentence got me 🤣
Tumblr media
Poor Thor, but not incorrect in my experience 🤣
Tumblr media
This was just right on the money for me. He does naturally share more physical traits with Loki than the character does. 🤣 I am also of the belief that Loki had a hand in getting Tom cast. If someone is gonna play a character bearing his name (to the point where their visage is basically synonymous with his name), they gotta be handsome and charming and play the character sympathetically. Personally, I think Tom fits that bill lol
On a related note, I did appreciate Lea's lack of disdain for Marvel. It's not always accurate to the lore or who the deities are, sure, but it's bringing people (myself included) to the deities. I think they generally appreciate that, as long as folks are able to move beyond the Marvel material. And as I've said before, they sometimes find ways to work themselves into that material, whether the writers/creators believe in them or not.
Anyway, highly recommend this book!

This is a Sigyn appreciation post
per a conversation with @hiddenhearthwitch yesterday, I felt there needed to be more Sigyn appreciation here on Tumblr (within the Norse Pagan community as a whole)
There's so much talk of Loki and his confinement, his role in the bringing of Ragnarok etc. Loki deserves the spotlight.
But there's not enough talk of Sigyn. About how we know little to nothing of her except her devotion and dedication to her family. Can we please appreciate the heartbreak and physical pain she must be experiencing?
To recap: Loki's punishment for killing Baldur is to be bound by a chain made from the entrails of his son with a snake above his head dripping poison onto him. Sigyn then dutifully stands there, holding a bowl to catch the poison, only leaving to empty the bowl and return to her husbands side.
Her arms have to be killing her. Her legs must want to give out at some point. She's enduring so much physical discomfort to give Loki a scrap of comfort in his torment. Not to mention the emotional/ mental trauma of having her own child's entrails be what binds her husband, and having to hear Loki's screams when she has no choice but to leave his side for a moment.
Some would probably say Sigyn is doing this because she's 'traditional' where a wife has to stay by her husband's side no matter what. I think its more about her own love though. In my experience working with the Norse Pantheon, there's a ton of agency and advocacy for setting boundaries from the Gods, which leads me to believe Sigyn absolutely could walk away if she wanted to. She's not held down by 'tradition'.
I think she stays out of love, out of a devotion so deep it's painful, and nearly impossible to understand. Who can fathom putting yourself through such physical and emotional pain to protect your loved ones? She's choosing to stand there, to save Loki from as much pain as she can spare him from, because every drop she collects is a moment of reprieve in his torment.
I think the only way she endures is through nostalgia, as Faye eloquently put it "the kid you get enraptured in and it feels so beautiful and then suddenly there's a pang in your chest and you're at a loss for words"
How can Sigyn endure the physical and emotional pain? She dissociates. She has to. In my belief she handles everything by disappearing in her mind to simpler times, to remembering the beauty of her life with her loved ones before everything went to shit. It doesn't matter to her why things went to shit, or whose to blame for it. What matters is things suck, her husband is in pain, and she loves him so much she'll do anything she can to help him.
Maybe she should walk away, but at the end of the day its her choice, and I think there's something hauntingly beautiful about making the choice to stay.
If you want to understand the kind of nostalgia, listen to this song and picture Sigyn holding the bowl, trying not to show her own pain while she remembers lying in a warm sunny field, enjoying a simple, peaceful moment in a different time.
Just, show her some love, because she's giving everything she has to Loki, and she's doing it because she loves him.
