Feveruary Day 7: "I’m still not used to being taken care of.”
Fandom: BTS
Sickie: J-Hope (flu)
Caregiver(s): Namjoon
Word Count: 983
Notes: This takes place recently, while the maknae line is in the military. That is why they are not mentioned in the paragraph when Namjoon considers where 'everyone else' is.
Hoseok shot up from the couch at the sound of a knock on his door. The sudden movement made his head pound, and Hoseok groaned, massaging his aching forehead. A another knock rang out, and Hoseok mumbled out a raspy, “I’m coming,” broken off with a hacking cough. With another groan, Hoseok stumbled to his feet. One of the blankets that had been cocooning his body fell to the floor as he hobbled to the door.
Clearing his throat as he walked, Hoseok felt the most human he had in days as he undid the lock, as it was such a normal activity. A novelty since he’d caught this bug a few days before. Pulling open the door, he came face to face with a nervous looking Namjoon.
The leader’s eyes scanned Hoseok from head to toe. He frowned. “Wow, hyung, you look rough.”
Hoseok scoffed. “It’s nice to see you too.”
“You’re only wearing one sock.” Hoseok looked down, confirming that, yes, he was only wearing one sock. He wiggled his bare toes.
“Huh. Would you look at that…”
Namjoon chuckled, rolled his eyes. “Can I come in, you goof?”
Hoseok blinked in surprise. “Oh, I mean, you can…”
“I can also just give you the meds and go.” Namjoon held out a few plastic bags that looked like they held much more than just the asked for cold and flu meds.
Hoseok acquiesced, nodding as he turned so Namjoon could come inside. As Hoseok relocked the door behind them, Namjoon glanced around the apartment. Everything was in decent order, save for the nest on the couch. “Not bad.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Hoseok laughed.
It was Namjoon’s turn to scoff. “Honestly, I expected a war zone.”
Hoseok gasped, playfully clutching his chest. “How dare you, sir? I am a very clean person. Even when I’m deathly ill.” He coughed at the end for emphasis, (definitely not to clear his airways, no not that.)
“You forget we lived together for several years,” Namjoon replied with a meaningful look.
“You forget we lived together for several years, and you have no room to be judging me.”
“Fair.” Namjoon chuckled before his smile turned soft. “How are you feeling?”
“Bleh.” Hoseok collapsed back onto the couch, elbows resting on his knees.
“That much is obvious.” Namjoon set a few plastic bags down on the coffee table, scooching aside the clutter already littering the table. “I assume you’ve been medicating yourself, given that you asked for more?”
Hoseok nodded towards the empty medicine bottle on the coffee table. “Ran out this morning. Thus the S.O.S. call.”
“Proud of you for asking for help.” Hoseok cocked his head to the side, squinting suspiciously at the leader. That was an odd choice of words. But Namjoon avoided his eyes, searching through one of his bags. “Are you hungry?”
Hoseok’s stomach grumbled in response. He pressed a hand to the offended organ, somewhat embarrassed at his body for being so impatient. “Very.”
The leader chuckled. “Good thing Jinnie made you this.” He held up a large plastic container of soup. “I’ll go heat some up for you now.”
“Hyung made it?” Hoseok asked. Namjoon nodded, refusing to look back at Hoseok as he moved into the kitchen. He knew exactly where the dancer kept his pots, and he moved to grab one just big enough for a single serving of soup. “When did you see Jin-hyung?”
“This morning,” Namjoon said casually, still avoiding eye contact. “He came over to drop off a book, and he’d actually brought the soup for me because he’d made too much for himself…”
“Joonie.” The leader finally met Hoseok’s unamused glare. “You called him.”
Namjoon sighed, then nodded. “I did.” Namjoon knew there was a reason Hoseok had only texted him asking if he could maybe, possibly pick him up some medicine. Hoseok was a caretaker by nature; it came so easily to him. So when the roles reversed, he tended to self-isolate, to push the others away as a precaution. Namjoon knew Hoseok was painfully aware that Seokjin had a modeling contract two days from now, and Yoongi was in the throes of album production, the final days of his creative process before he sent the draft to the label. Hoseok had specifically chosen the member who would be least affected should they catch this bug from him, and the member least likely to stick around and help because he was ‘bad at this,’ by Namjoon’s own words. Namjoon, smart enough to put this all together from a simple text but admittedly terrible at physically caring for someone, had set out to prove his hyung wrong; Hoseok deserved just as much tender love and care as the rest of them.
So yeah. He’d called Jin to make Hobi some soup. Sue him.
Hoseok had fallen back onto the couch. “Namjooooooon….” The whine turned into a cough. Namjoon didn’t like the sound of that cough.
“Hyung, when did you take your last dose of medicine?”
“Three hours ago, so it’s wearing off but not yet.” Swallowing thickly, Hoseok’s gaze sharpened again. “Why did you call Jinnie?”
Namjoon lit the burner under the pot full of soup, then met Hoseok’s gaze. “Why didn’t you call me sooner?”
“I’m…” Hoseok sighed, completely deflating. “I’m still not used to being taken care of,” he admitted, fiddling anxiously with the hem of his sweater. He bit his lip.
Namjoon frowned. “I know, Hobi. That’s why I called Seokjin-hyung. He would be so sad to know that you hadn’t reached out to him when you needed him.”
“I didn’t…”
“You do.” Hoseok looked up at Namjoon with suddenly teary eyes. “It’s okay to be sick and want a little love, hyung. I know it’s usually the other way round for you but… we got you, yeah?”
Hoseok smiled, nodding his head. “Yeah.”

Hoseok with a nasty cold but he tries to hide it and stifles his sneezes
Okay okay this is the third time I restarted this.. I know what I want but I'm struggling to write it. >.<
I'm semi happy with it, but I'll let you guys decide if it's good..
"Hehitch...!" J-hope sits up, looking around the room trying to find what woke him. "Hehtichih!" Another sneeze gave him his answer. He started feeling sick yesterday,sniffling thoughout practice,running out of energy halfway through. Luckily over the music the others didn't notice.
It's gotten worse..
J-hope sighs, looking for a tissue to blow his nose. "It wasn't this bad yesterday..this isn't good, we're doing the jacket shoot today.."
He blows his nose, only irritating it further, the itch returning. "Hehitchugh..." J-hope wipes his nose with the tissue, checking the time.
It's only 4:40.. I don't have to be up to go until 6..
J-hope gets up as quietly as he can, searching for medicine, but his search comes up empty. He sighs. Guess I'm going to the store..
He still felt exhausted, but the sooner he took care of it, the better. He bundled up warmly despite it being late spring, putting on a fuzzy sweater, blue jeans, and a white beanie.
"Where are you going...?"
J-hope jumps when he hears the sleepy voice of Jimin blinking up at him slowly from his bed.
"I can't sleep.. I'm nervous about the shoot, so I was going to go for a walk to clear my head.." J-hope keeps his voice soft to try to hide the congested sound, and thankfully, it worked.
Jimin turns over. "Okay.. be careful.." he replies with a yawn, sleepiness taking over his words coming out slow as he driftd off again. "Don't tire yourself out. We'll be working all day.."
"I won't." J-hope quickly leaves the room when he feels a tickle in his throat, waiting until he leaves the building to cough.
That was close..
J-hope hardly makes it around the block before he feels the irritated itch in his nose return.
"Heh'heh..Hetchxih!" J-hope sneezes, nearly falling forward. How am I going to hide this from the others...? They can't do the shoot without me and the album will get delayed if we don't have the photoshoot..
J-hope attempts to get back to bed without waking Jimin, but another itch appears. "Heh..heh..." He pinches the bridge of his nose, holding his breath to try to stop the sneeze from coming. He sighs in relief when the feeling disappeared crawling into his bed.
"Hm? What was that..?" Jimin sits up, rubbing his eyes seeing that his roommate returned. "Oh..it's you hyungie..Did you say something?"
"No. I just yawned." J-hope lies. "I'm tired now that i walked the nerves off.."
"That was a weird yawn.. what time is it?" Jimin asks, searching for his phone, accidently knocking it to the floor when he slides his hand across the bed to find it.
Sh*t, don't be awake now..
"We still have an hour until the alarm.. I'm gonna to lay down and sleep." J-hope wanted to avoid conversation.. at least until the medicine kicked in."You should sleep more too. It'll be a long shoot today.."
"Alright.. rest well.." Jimin yawns, laying back down.
J-hope covers his face with a pillow when the itch returns, the edge of his nose twitching. The pressure was building, causing a headache but he couldn't let Jimin know he wasnt feeling well..not until after the photo shoot.
The sneeze escaped against his will, muffled by the pillow, but still coming out as a squeak. "Hehitdyh!"
"Hyung..?" Jimin looks in the direction of J-hope, but the rapper pretends to be asleep, already knowing the question he'd ask. "That was fast..." He turns over, not wanting to 'wake' him.
This is gonna he a long day..
J-hope looks in the mirror, grimacing at his reflection. His nose was noticeably red, especially underneath his nostrils from them dripping. He winces when he touches the irritated area, trying to cover it with makeup, swearing under his breath. "It's not working.."
"Hoba are you almost finished? We need to leave in five minutes." Yoongi calls to him from outside the door.
"I'm almost done!" J-hope stifles a cough, quickly adding a layer of makeup to try to make his cover-up job less obvious. "Finished."
"Staff is going to do your make up for the shoot.." Yoongi thought it odd that J-hope would go through the trouble.
"Ah, I know.. I'm just breaking out from that fried chicken we ate last night, so I was feeling self-conscious.." J-hope lies, taking Yoongi's hand. "Let's go we don't want to keep staff waiting." He pulls him, not giving him time to think. He knew Yoongi could see right through him if their eyes met.
Everyone piled into the van, J-hope pressing his lips together tightly to surpress a cough. "Are you excited for the shoot Koo?" He gets the conversation going, hoping that would be enough to hide how poorly he felt.
"Where's the shoot gonna be again?" Jungkook asks, eyes shining with both excitement and curiosity.
"There's going to be two locations. An abandoned building that staff put a few sets in and by a lake." Namjoon explains.
" It's been forever since we shot outside." Taehyung smiles brightly, sharing Jungkook's excitement. "Which one first?"
"The building will be first because we want that natural light since there's hardly any power. " Yoongi replies next. "Didn't you pay attention during the meeting?"
Jungkook looks out the window, not wanting to reply getting a giggle out of J-hope.
"You should pay more attention." Jin scolds playfully.
"I knew there were going to be lake shots but I didn't know if it would be a real lake or just a built set like when we did Stay Gold." Jungkook says defensively.
"We're doing shots in the water." Namjoon explains. "They rented a place for us, and they're decorating it. We're actually going to do a few scenes for the music video while we're there."
This is going to take longer than I thought..
J-hope rubs his finger underneath his nose to try to stop the itch that formed underneath it, holding his breath. He was glad everyone was busy talking about work that they didn't notice him. He completely tuned them out, resting his elbow on the doorframe to look like he's just resting face on his hand.
"They want to do a few underwater shots with Me, Taehyungie and Hope."
J-hope quickly turns to Namjoon when he hears Namjoon add him to the list. "Wha...itchiz!" He sneezes.
"Bless you hyung." Jimin says politely.
"You and Jungkook are going to pull Taehyungie out of the water. Hoba, you agreed already. Why are you surprised?" Namjoon questions. J-hope was usually so serious when it came to their work, it took him off guard for him to forget something like that.
"Ah, I just thought we were doing it next week when we do the actual music video." J-hope tries to cover for his mind slip. How could he forget such an important detail.
"We made some last-minute changes because the weather is going to be bad next week." Namjoon tells him. "You were in your vocal lesson late.."
"Do you want me to do it for you hyung? You don't sound like you want to.." Jungkook offers.
"It has to be Hoba or it messes up the mini story in the music video.."
"It's fine, Jaykay. I don't mind it." J-hope smiles brightly to hide his concern about getting drenched when he was already feeling awful."I'll do it. I'm just feeling lazy today. I stayed up too late and got up too early."
"You want to sleep a little? You can lean on me if you want.." Yoongi offers, patting his shoulder. "We already ate fried food last night, so your cheeks will be puffy no matter what."
J-hope takes up the offer smiling to hear Yoongi trying to give him no excuse not to rest, it was getting harder to keep his voice sounding normal, and if he stays quiet for too long, they'll worry about him. "Thanks, hyung.."
Yoongi takes off the baseball cap he was wearing, placing it gently over J-hope's face to block out the sun. "No problem."
It didn't take long for him to fall asleep, everyone in the van whispering to not disturb him.
"Do you think he's really okay?" Jin asks, watching the soft rise and fall of J-hope's abdomen. "He sounds a little congested.."
"He kept leaving the room last night, and he said he was nervous this morning. It's been a while since we did a project this big..let's try to finish up quickly.." Jimin wasn't sure if he really was okay, but he at least wanted to tell the others what he knew. "Let's just keep an eye on him.."
"Hoba..Hoba wake up we're here." Yoongi gently raises his shoulder, waking up the usually cheerful rapper.
How could I feel worse after resting?
J-hope groggily sits up, rubbing his eyes. His head went from a dull ache to a pounding throb that got worse with every movement. " 'm up.." His voice comes out in a hoarse whisper.
"Are you okay, Hoba?" Jin asks, watching his stiff movement with concern.
J-hope clears his throat to try to speak louder. "My throats dry, I need some water."
Jungkook digs into his backpack to find a waterbottle, passing it to him. "Here Hobi-hyung."
"Thanks Jeykay.." j-hope stifles a sneeze, the pressure building up in his nose.
"Are you okay Hoba?" Yoongi notices J-hope's eyes watering from the pressure, but the younger rapper waves it off.
"I'm just still tired. That's all. I'll be okay. Let's get going. We're wasting daylight.." J-hope gets out, the others following behind him. He takes a swig of water, trying to ease the pain.
"This way Hoseok-ah.."Jin takes his hand when he sees J-hope walk the wrong direction clearly still half asleep, leading him to the changing trailer.
"Sorry Hyung." J-hope blushes lightly in embarrassment. "I guess I'm still not awake."
"It's okay. You'll wake up as you move around. Here, this one's your outfit." Jin gives him his outfit. "You need help?"
"No, I can dress myself." J-hope takes it, turning away from him when he feels another sneeze coming, quickly pulling his shirt over his head to hide his face, breath hitching. "Heh..heh..." He managed to stop the sneeze from coming, sighing softly. "These outfits remind me of the most beautiful moment photoshoot.." J-hope points out, trying to cover up his discomfort. "Like..uh..the I need U outfit mixed with Run."
"Yeah especially my jeans." Yoongi says rubbing his bare knee. "It's gonna suck for you guys in the water. Are you sure you're feeling up to it Hoba?"
"Yeah, yeah I think I'm getting a little cold.. Staff has hair dryers I'll just ask them to dry my hair as soon as possible." J-hope couldn't lie to Yoongi, not fully. "I can do this."
"Hopefully we can get it right in one shot." Jungkook felt his stomach tightening with nerves. If I mess up the shot Hobi-hyung will have to stay in the water longer and get worse..
Taehyung hugs Jungkook from behind when he notices the tension in his shoulders. "Don't worry Gukkie. We'll do our best. I don't think we'll need to do more than two takes."
"I'll do my best." Jungkook gives a small smile, leaning his head into Taehyung’s cheek, to fear still gnawed at his belly. Taehyungie-hyungie has done underwater shots before.. he has more confidence than me.. I don't know if I can get a good shot..
"We're doing the photos first. Concentrate on those right now. Don't worry about the filming.." Jin tells him.
"Right." Jungkook goes to his Noona to get his makeup done, keeping one eye on j-hope while he gets scolded for adding so much makeup this morning.
"I'm sorry..I'm sorry.." J-hope bows his head while she gets some wipes, trying to uncake the concealer that covered his reddened nose.
"It's okay, I'll get you taken care of. Just remember not to overdo it next time." She tells him in a soft tone, noticing the redness of his nose, realizing what he was trying to do.
J-hope feels his nostrils flair, another sneeze building when she removes the makeup from his upper lip, quickly spinning the chair to face away from her. "Hehtichih!"
"I'm sorry Hoseok-ssii, I didn't mean to tickle your nose." She bows in apology when he spins back to face her.
"It's okay." He fights the urge to sniffle,rubbing his nose with the side of his fist.
"Taehyung-ssii come back so I can finish your make up." Staff calls to him.
"Coming!" He calls back, quickly whispering. "We'll take care of Hobi-hyung, but it's better to let him think we aren't that worried."
Jungkook nods, going to staff to get his own make up done. Hyung doesn't like making us worry..
"Oh wow.. look they made a path of flowers.." Jungkook runs to the path, careful to keep his feet in the small gaps staff made them to walk through. "Ah.. heh..heh'itch!" He sneezes covering up his face. "Ugh..I'll need to take some allergy medicine before we pose with the flo..heh..itchi!"
"You didn't take some before you decided to charge towards them?" Namjoon goes to get Jungkook away from the flowers, but Yoongi stops him. "I'll get him. Jungkook-ah you need to be more careful of your health.." he gently moves towards him, grabbing his elbow to lead him back to the trailer.
"Heh.." j-hope clamps his hand over his nose to stop the sneeze, eyes watering.
"You okay Hoba?" Namjoon asks rubbing his back. "Do you need some medicine too?"
"I just took some." J-hope tells him. It wasn't a complete lie, but he still felt his heart ache to lie to him.
"Well, it should kick in soon. Just hang in there." Namjoon goes to staff for instructions, them starting the shoot, choosing to pose with the flowers second to last, giving Jungkooks medicine time to kick in.
J-hope stifles another sneeze, his face screwing up running yet another photo. "Sh*t.. sorry.. the sun got in my eyes.." he makes another excuse, but he knew they were onto him. There's no way they weren't with how many photos he ruined with the persistent itch and constant sniffling to try to keep his nose from dripping.
"It's okay Hoba. That's why we take thousands of photos. I'm sure the first few came out fine." Jin comforts J-hope. It's only been an hour and a half since they started the shoot, but Jin could see his energy already draining.
J-hope goes to monitor the photoshoot, feeling his heart sink when he sees he's ruined a quarter of the photos with him trying to stifle his sneezes and prevent his nose from leaking. At least they did an amazing job hiding the redness. You can't even tell I'm sick in the photos..
"There's still plenty of shots to work with. Don't worry about it hyungie." Jimin hugs him from behind.
"Let's do the mankae line shoot next. I need to use the restroom." Yoongi makes an excuse so J-hope could take a break.
"I gotta go too. After that we can do the vocal line shots." Jin was quick to pick up what Yoongi was up to, but J-hope wasn't. He was just happy to be able to take time to blow his nose and ask staff if they had any cough drops and pain relievers.
"Okay, I'm gonna go get some water for us." J-hope quickly walks away from the others, letting out a phlegm filled cough. He spits, into the grass, grimacing at the yellow coloration. "Why am I getting worse...?"
"Alright Taehyung-ssi will go into the water first, count to five before going in after him. Understood?" The director tells them. Taehyung and Jungkook nod, but J-hope was zoned out, eyes focused on the lake.
"Hoseok-ssi did you hear me?" He prompts J-hope to respond, j-hope looking at him when he hears his name.
"Huh? Ah.. I'm sorry..could you say that again?" J-hope bows, sniffling as softly as possible. His body ached, his head felt like it was splitting and now his nose and throat both had a persistent itch that made it hard to breathe. I made it this far.. It's just one more shot..
"Wait for Taehyung-sii starts sinking under the water before diving in to get him, and please be mindful where the cameras are. Don't pull him up too quickly, we want to be sure the shot comes out clearly but you need to move quickly to reach him. We can speed it up after if needed. " The director tells him with a sympathy,wanting to make it usable in the first take so he didn't have to spend too much time in the water.
"Understood. Swim fast when he jumps move slow to pull him up" J-hope nodded, eyes watering as his nose twitches, another sneeze threatening to come. "Heh.. heh..itchisg!"
"I think we should do this another day. You need to time this perfectly or Taehyung will be in danger." Namjoon felt anxious about both J-hopes health and Taehyungs safety.
"I'm okay. There's no way I'll let Taehyung be in real danger and we have staff on stand by in case anything happens. Joon i got this." I got to finish this..after filming this scene I can get dry and sleep in the car while we drive to the next location..
"But Hobi-"
"Please Namjoonah, I can do it."
Taehyung took a deep breath, jumping from the small boat and into the water, letting go of his breath when he hears the signal from staff, air bubbles filling the water. He allowed his body to sink, having full trust that Jungkook and J-hope would pull him out before he was in danger.
"He's in the water. We need to get to him." Jungkook knew Taehyung was the best at holding his breath out of all the members, but he was emptying his lungs so he could properly sink. He pulled J-hope into the water, the shock of cold completely waking him up.
Sh*t.. it's freezing..
J-hope tried to swim as quickly as Jungkook, but he didn't have the stamina. He knew of he used all his energy he wouldn't be able to pull Taehyung out.
Jungkook noticed him falling behind, stopping right before he was in sight of the camera. He could see Taehyung sinking. He's falling too fast.. I don't know if hyung have the energy to make it back up of he goes to far.
J-hope felt it too, the realization that Taehyung was at risk of actually drowning. Taehyungie had a hand singal in case he felt like he was in danger, but what if he was already unconscious?
Adrenaline kicked in, giving him the strength he needed to push forward, quickly moving to grab one of Taehyung’s arms. Jungkook feels relief wash over him when J-hope caught up with him, following his lead to get Taehyung back to the boat.
Taehyung weighed practically nothing in the water, making it easy for the two boys to lead him to the surface. Jungkook gave Taehyungs arm a squeeze right before they reached the surface, the older vocalist taking in a small mouthful of water as planned.
J-hope bit the inside of his cheek, the painful pressure of a building sneeze filling his sinuses. No. No if I sneeze I'll ruin the shot..
Jungkook was pretending to try to shake Taehyung awake. "Hyung.. Hyung..!" He had fake panic in his voice as Taehyung lay motionless, fighting against the urge to spit out the lake water and fill up his lungs that screamed for air.
"Taehyungie!" J-hope adds in as soon as he successfully stopped his sneeze, doing chest compressions lightly. "Taehyungie you gotta breathe.." it wasn't hard to make his voice sound pained. He got close to Taehyung's lips, only a few centimeters away from his lips as he pretended to fill his lungs with air.
Taehyung waited for him to pull away before coughing up the lake water, quickly sitting up as it drizzled down his mouth. He was only supposed to pretend to cough it up, but he couldn't hold his breath any longer, accidentally gasping it in.
"Alright cut!"
The director called, staff quickly pulling the boat to the shore.
Jungkook rubbed Taehyung's back when he realized he wasn't faking, his cough continuing even after filming stopped.
"Taehyungie are you okay? Did we take too long to get you? I'm sorry..that was..was...heh..itxixh!" J-hope sneezes.
"I'm..I'm okay..I jus..swallowed the..water.. my fault.." Taehyung says between coughs.
J-hope went to speak, but instead he joins Taehyung in his coughing fit, hacking up more thick mucus. He couldn't fight it anymore. He was sick and everyone knew it.
Staff quickly got the three boys out of the boat, wrapping each of them in a large towel. "J-hope are you okay?"
"I..i..don't feel well.." j-hope finally admits it, his knees giving in. His vision became hazy, the edges of everything softening.
"Get him in the trailer. We need to get him dry as soon as possible." Yoongi orders in a panic
Namjoon picks up J-hope, cradling him to his chest. "I shouldn't have let you do the shoot.."
J-hopes eyes widen when he feels his feet leave the ground, he wanted to tell him he could walk on his own, but he knew it was a lie. Right when the coughing started to slow, the itch switched to his nose, releasing the sneezes he wouldn't let come. "Heh..heitchi..Hehtifxtch!..heh..hegiixch!"
Namjoon sets him down, getting the hair dryer himself to try to prevent J-hope from getting any worse.
"I'm sorry.. I'm sorry.. I ruined the album.. it's gonna be late because..because of me.." J-hope's emotions overflowed, tears streaming down his cheeks.
"Hobi.. hobi no you didn't ruin anything. Don't cry..it's not your fault." Jin says wiping J-hopes cheeks. "You can't help it if you're sick. I'm sure we can get it out on time even with a minor set back and if we can't Army will understand." He tries to comfort J-hope, hugging him close.
"You..you think so..to..finish on..on time?" J-hope sniffles, triggering another sneeze right into Jin's chest. "Heh'itchii..ah..I'm sorry Hyung.. I'm sorry.."
Jimin hands him a tissue. "Here Hyung. Wipe your nose.. we'll get you taken care of. Okay?"
J-hope blows his nose. "I..I've been really close to..to everyone all..all day..with..without a mask.. everyone's gonna get sick beb..because of me.." J-hope's voice breaks off into a soft whimper.
Namjoon starts blow drying his hair. "Don't worry about that right now. Not everyone's gonna get sick."
"Hyungie don't cry.." Jungkook tries talking over the hair dryers. "I won't get sick and even if I do there's an equal chance it's from the lake."
" Hey.. hey.. what did one ocean say to the other?" Jin asks in English.
"What?" J-hope asks, perplexed by his sudden change in languages. "Now isn't..the time for riddles.."
"You only say that because you don't know the answer. A little one told me this one when we were in America. Come on. Guess.." Jin encourages him to try.
J-hope takes a deep breath. How am I supposed to answer English word play? My English isn't that good.
Jin smiles when he sees J-hopes mind focus on his joke instead of his cold and the album. "Think of ocean words."
"Fish, sand,sea sh..heh..hehitchsghi!" J-hope groans. "That one hurt.."
"It sounds like it did.. but hey.. look. You stopped crying." Jin says wiping the drying tears from his cheeks.
"Oh..you're right.. thanks Hyung.. and thanks Joon-ah..I'm sorry i didn't tell you guys how bad I felt.. I just wanted to get the shoot done.. it wasn't so bad this mor..." J-hope's cough cuts off the word.
"You should've told me anyway.. your health is more important.." Jin scolds him. "An extra month won't be the end of the world. I'll tell them myself we need to put the album on hold. Hyung will handle it. Okay?"
J-hope's only reply is a sneeze.
"So you want to know the answer to the riddle?" Jin asks.
J-hope nods, another sneeze coming. "Hehtichugh.."
"It didn't say anything. It only waved." Jin laughs at his own joke, earning himself an eye roll from J-hope.
"There.. your hair is dry.. let's get you to a doctor okay?" Namjoon said it as a question, but he had no intention of letting him say no.

It's time to write some long drabble without any thought! It actually like two stories in one, but since I'm on mobile, I can not separate them..sorry. One of 11 drafts I've been sitting on that I'm not proud of.
Sickie-jin and J-hope for a hot minute.(skip to past the green lines if you don't like vomit)
Caretaker- ot7
"Is everyone ready?" Namjoon yells over the sound of the ocean waves and the humming of the boat engine. Everyone nodded after checking their life jackets to be sure they were properly secure.
They took a mini vacation in between their current world tour, a day to themselves before their flight to japan, choosing to unwind after eight back to back concerts in the US.
The boys all took turns jumping into the water, jungkook flipping into the water first. "Did you see Hyng?"
Jimin follows after seeing Jungkook safely move out of the way.
"Is it cold?" Jin asks.
"No. It's not that cold. It feels nice with how hot it is!"Jungkook replies, slicking his hair back. "Come on hyungie!"
Jin doesn't believe the mischievous mankae, but jumped in anyway, screaming. "Jungkook-ah! It's so cold!"
Jungkook laughs. "You'll get used to it."
Soon everyone was in, Namjoon jumping in with a beach ball, the seven members trying their best to keep it from touching the water.
"Look, hyung, jet skiis. I wonder if there's a place to rent them." Jungkook lets the ball fly right past him, eyes sparkling with excitement.
"I can ask if they can find a place we can rent them." Namjoon smiles, finding Jungkook's doe eyes expression cute.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It didn't take long for the staff to fulfill Namjoons request to rent jet skiis only taking a ten minute boat ride to go to a rental shop, but there were only four left making the boys have to ride in pairs.
The boys count to three before taking off on the jet skis, Taehyung riding with Jungkook, j-hope riding with Jimin and Yoongi riding with Jin.
Namjoon got to ride on his own jet ski after being victorious in rock, paper, scissors. Jungkook managed to talk the others into a race, and the boys take off racing from the dock to the water buoy. J-Hope wraps his arms tighter around Jimin's waist, letting out a squeal with the waves start bouncing the jet ski. "Ugh, why did I agree to this.."
Taehyung and Jungkook scream happily, taking the lead when Jimin slows down to talk to J-hope. "You okay Hobi-hyung?"
"I'll be okay. Just keep going." J-hope says, ignoring his stomach flutters, not wanting to ruin the fun.
Jimin speeds up, trying to catch up with the others, but Namjoon continues to move in front of him not letting him pass, the two fighting for last place.
Up ahead, Yoongi and Jungkook were neck and neck, both fighting for first.
"You can do it Yoongi!" Jin cheers for him.
"Jungukkie you got this!" Taehyung joins in.
Yoongi makes the turn around the buoy, but takes it sharper than he intended, him losing his balance and sending both him and Jin into the water, the key tied around his wrist coming out of the jet ski.
"Hyung! Hyung are you okay!?" Jungkook and the others stop their jet skis to check on them, Taehyung jumping off of Jungkooks to go to them.
"I'm fine. I just got a mouthful of salt water. Don't worry. Are you okay hyungie?" Yoongi says while trying to get the saltwater from his eyes.
"I'm okay too.." Jin says, coughing up salt water.
"I'm sorry. I should've been more careful." Yoongi helps Jin get his hair out of his face.
"It's okay. It was an accident. Don't worry." Jin tries to comfort Yoongi, patting his shoulder. "We're both fine that's all that matters.."
"Are you sure? You hit the water pretty hard.." Jimin says with a worried expression.
"I'm fine, really. I just took it a bit of water. Don't worry." Jin tries to shake the water out of his ear. "Let's ride without racing, though. Hoba looks a little seasick already.."
J-hope was leaning his head on Jimin's shoulder, wishing for his stomach to settle. Jimin nuzzles into his cheek. "I'm sorry hyung.. I'll take you back to land so you can lay down."
"No I'll be okay once I'm back on the boat.."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hyung, I don't feel good.." J-hope says, leaning into Jin on the way home from the beach, a wet burp escaping. (I wish I took up Jimin's offer to go wait on land...)
"I know Hoba, hyung will take care of you. Do you need to throw up?" Jin softly runs his hand over J-hopes' stomach in little circles, trying to help soothe the pain. "We can find a bag for you.."
"I'm okay.." J-hope swallows the saliva that pooled in his mouth. "I can make it to the hotel.."
"I'm sorry Hobi-hyung.. I shouldn't have talked you into racing.." Jungkook twists his hands in his lap, feeling guilty that his suggestion made the usually cheerful J-hope hardly able to fake a smile to comfort him.
"It's okay, JK. It's not that bad." J-hope reaches to squeeze Jungkook's hand. "Your hand is freezing. Jungkook, you need to get in the shower when we get home..Jiminah and Taehyungie too.. You both have purple lips.."
"Okay Hobi-hyung.. I purple you." Taehyung smiles making a heart with his fingers placing it by his lips, getting a bigger smile out of the motion sick rapper.
"I purple you too Tae.." J-hope's stomach gurgled, trying to force up the korean barbecue they had for lunch.
"We're almost there Hoba. Just a few more minutes." Jin kisses the top of J-hopes' head when he hears a soft whimper from J-hope. "Hyung will order you some soup and get a bath ready."
The van turns into the hotel building, Jin letting J-hope lean on his broad shoulder as they walk to J-hope's room, leading J-hope to the bathroom, lifting up the seat.
J-hope kneels on the bathroom tiles, his mouth filling with saliva once more, his stomach pushing up his dinner, ejecting it into the porcelain bowl. His stomach muscles tightened as they pushed up everything it had in it.
Jin rubs J-hope's back. "It's okay Hoba, hyung is here. It'll be over soon.." He tries to soothe J-hope, whispering sweet nothings.
J-hope retches, bile rising up to his throat, spraying into the toliet."It..it hurts.." He says in a hoarse whimper. J-hope reaches for Jin's hand, holding it tightly as another ripple of pain rolls over his belly, sick spewing out once more.
"I know baby, I know.." Jin coos sympathetically, ignoring his own stomach churning at the sound of J-hope's violent retching. He squeezes J-hopes clammy hand. "If I could be sick for you I would. It hurts my heart to see you this way.."
Thankfully, it ended quickly for J-hope but even though it only lasted a few minutes, it left him feeling exhausted, leaning into Jin who holds him until he could catch his breath again. "It's over..." He sighs in relief reaching to flush.
"Here, lean against the bath, I'll get you some water. Okay?" Jin gently moves from underneath J-hope. "I'll be back in a minute okay?" Jin goes to the mini fridge of the hotel, bringing back two water bottles. "Little sips, okay Hoba?"
J-hope nods, sipping on the water, washing the taste from his mouth.
"You feeling any better now, Hoba?" Jin speaks softly, stroking J-hopes damp hair behind his ear.
"A little.. I don't feel like I need to throw up anymore.. I'm sorry, Hyung.."
"Don't be sorry for being sick. Let's get you washed up. Do you think you can stand?"
J-hope nods, letting Jin help him to his feet. "Okay hyung.."J-hope slips off his wet clothes, not realizing how much he was shaking until he was standing without Jin's support, feeling weak in the knees.
"Here, let hyung help." Jin helps get the skin tight top off of J-hope, then gets in him in shower, keeping a hand on his waist. Jin gets some soap, putting it on a cloth, then runs it over J-hopes skin. The warm water and gentle strokes of Jin washing his abdomen soothe the tightness in his stomach. "Thanks Hyung..I'm feeling a little better now.. I can do it myself.. you can go wash up yourself.."
"You're shaking still. I'll sit in here until you finished, then I'll go." Jin closes the toliet lid and takes a seat, chatting with J-hope until he finished, wrapping J-hope in a towel and leading him to the main room.
"I'm feeling a lot better now. Don't worry about me, go wash up. I'll be okay. Seriously." J-hope gets up to get clothes, trying to prove he could move without his help.
"Okay, I'll shower really quick then come back, okay? I'll order us something to eat. Call me if you need me, okay?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hyung. Hyung it's time to get up.." jungkook knocks softly on the door to Jin's room.
Jin slept through his first two alarms feeling groggy, his voice coming out hoarse when he calls back to Jungkook. "I'm up.." he quickly gathers his bags, going to the door. "What time is it?"
"Hyung you sound congested..are you feeling okay?" Jungkook takes Jin's bags along with his own, leading him to where the others were waiting. "It's 9:05. I went to look for you when i saw you weren't there at nine like we agreed. Do you have everything?"
"I'm okay, just think I'm catching a cold. I'll take some medicine before we fly." Jin checks his little bag, being sure he put his phone and charger inside it.
"Hyung do you want some water?" Jimin offers, worried about how rough Jin's voice sounded. Jin takes it, the cool water giving some relief from the scratchy feeling in his throat.
Jin takes the mask out of his bag, putting it on and following Jimin, Taehyung, and Yoongi to one of the cars, the other members getting into the other.
Jin sniffles, feeling the drainage enter his throat, making him cough. "Ah, I can't believe I'm getting sick.. we have four more concerts.." He sighs with annoyance.
"Maybe swimming was a bad idea." Jimin looks down, feeling guilt gnawing at him. It was his idea to go swimming.
"I had a lot of fun, it was a great idea. I don't think swimming was the cause." Jin puts his hand on Jimin's knee. "Don't worry about it. It's not even bad. Just a throat tickle and a runny nose that's a bit annoying. I just wish I could get the rest of the water out of my ear.. it still kinda hurts.."
"Me too, me too. I'm tempted to try a cotton swab even though they say they're not good for use anymore." Taehyung says tilting his head to the side.
"Did you try The Valsalva Maneuver?" Yoongi asks.
"No, I don't even know what that is." Taehyung says looking confused.
"It's when you close your mouth, pinch your nose shut, and try to blow out. Don't try to blow too hard, though. You could hurt your ears." Yoongi demonstrates for them and both boys try it.
Taehyung's eyes grow wide. "Woah..it worked hyung! I felt the water come out!" He smiles brightly. Jin didn't have such luck. It made his ear hurt more than it did before. (I hope I didn't do it wrong...)
"Did it work for you Hyungie?" Jimin asks.
Jin touches his ear, feeling the moisture on his fingertip."I think I got it all too. Thanks, Yoongi. Your random knowledge helped."
"Hyung, hyung, we landed. Wake up.." Jimin gently shakes Jin awake. Jin wakes up feeling worse than before. The little relief he felt from getting the water out was back again, worse than before. Jin went to talk, but a cough came out instead.
"Don't talk if it hurts Hyungie. They prepared medicine in the car for you to take. You'll feel better soon." J-hope takes Jin's carry on bag for him while Jungkook and Jimin lead Jin off the plane, the six members surrounding him to keep the cameras off of him.
Army welcomed them back, screaming their names and words of endearment, and Jin would usually smile and blow kisses, but right now, he felt drained even though he slept for 11 hours on the plane.
They quickly get into their cars, a staff member passing Jin some medicine for his cough. "Thank you.." Jin bows politely with a smile, taking it with some water.
"Are we going right to the venue to see the stage still?" Namjoon asks.
"Yes, we got it all set up." The manager replies. "We got a couple hours."
"Great. I was worried we wouldn't have enough time to get the stage positions. It'll be enough time to do at least one run through ." Namjoon and J-hope talk business, but Jin doesn't join the conversation. (I'll ask for an IV and take some pain medicine. I'll be fine.) Jin closes his eyes, resting his cheek on the window.
By the time they reached the venue his voice had returned to normal, only a dull pain left, but it felt like his ear was burning, the pressure of his inear making it worse. (If i can't use my inear i can't perform well..) Jin bites his lip anxiously and sneaks away to take something for the pain.
"Jin-Hyungie, where are you?" Namjoon calls when he notices the empty spot in their formation.
"I'm here. Sorry I had to use the bathroom." Jin gets in his spot. (I'll tell them after practice. We don't have time to waste..)
Jin tries to get through the routine, but he felt off balance. When he was trying to spin for Save me he accidentally smacked into Yoongi, knocking the smaller man to the floor.
"I'm sorry Yoongi. I'm sorry!" Jin rushed to pull Yoongi to his feet, quickly looking over Yoongi for any injury. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, hyung. Just a sore bottom." Yoongi says, rubbing his sore tail bone.
"Hyung, you weren't in your position at all." J-hope uses his serious tone, leading Jin to his spot. "Even if you got the timing wrong, you wouldn't run into Yoongi-hyung."
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'll get it right this time." Jin bows.
J-hope nods, signaling them to start the track over again. Jin concentrated on staying in his spot, making it through the practice without any issues.
When it was time for the real thing that night, though the pain was becoming unbearable. They had just finished the sound check, and the whole time, he had to stop himself from touching the earpiece, not wanting to worry his fans. As soon as he was out of sight he took the inear out.
Jin went to his bag, digging the pain pills out of his bag to try ease his suffering.
"Hyung what's wrong? Why do you need those? Did you get hurt when we collided?" Yoongi's voice made him jump with a short scream. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."
"Ah, yoongi.. it's you.. I don't know..my ear..it really hurts.." Jin couldn't lie to his members, he knew they would see right through him.
Yoongi starts trying to find the problem, noticing the little bit of yellow pus and redness in his ear. "Hyung, your ear looks infected.."
"What?" Namjoon overhears. "Jinnie-hyung has an ear infection?"
"I think so.. hyung when did this start?" Yoongi asks
"It was hurting since yesterday, but I thought it was just water in my ear from swimming.." Jin answers honestly.
Namjoon leaves to get a doctor, them easily confirming Yoongi's diagnosis. "Is it serious?"
"Since he's not experiencing any hearing complications I wouldn't worry. It should go away in a few days." The doctor answers honestly. "But if it gets worse we will need to get him on antibiotics."
Jin felt freezing even underneath all the lights. A fever started setting in making his body ache and his energy drain, the only thing keeping him going was pure adrenaline, army chanting for him and his team and cheering loudly between songs keeping him going.
It wasn't until he stopped performing to allow the rapline to do their performances that the fatigue hit him like a truck. If jungkook wasn't standing in front of him, he would've fallen down the steps.
Jin felt his vision fading, everything going hazey. All the strength in his body drained, growing too heavy for him to hold, his knees buckling from underneath him. "jung..kook..ah.." His voice comes out slowly in a soft whisper, but jungkook felt Jin reaching for him, quickly turning just barely catching him, almost sending the oldest and youngest member down the steps but Jungkook urgently calling. "Help hyungs" alerted Taehyung and Jimin to be able to quickly support the mankae, Jimin placing a hand on his back and Taehyung running up the steps to steady them.
"What happened?" Taehyung helps Jungkook get Jin down the steps and safely on the floor.
"Jinnie-hyung..he fainted..and he's burning up.." Jungkook felt his heart racing. "He's really sick.."
Staff took over putting ice packs on Jin's body, sending the members away to try to help the oldest vocalist regain consciousness, but they didn't go far.
Taehyung hugged Jungkook to his chest when he notices the golden mankaes eyes swell up with tears. "He'll be okay. They know what to do.."Taehyung tries soothing him, stroking his hair.
"You guys need to..to get ready.." Jin's eyes flutter open. "Don't worry..." His voice isn't heard by anyone except the medical staff.
"He wants you to focus on the show..you only have two more songs before you go on.." staff warns them.
"We can't go without Jinnie-hyung.." jungkook sniffles.
"Jungkookie please don't cry. We can do this for him. He'll be very upset if we stop the concert.." jimin hugs into his back. "It'll be okay.."
"Okay.." Jungkook wiggles free from the 95 liners, running to get ready the other two following suit.
"Jin-shii.. I don't think you should go on again.." The staff member warned him, but Jin sits up.
"I just need a little rest.. I can do this.. please help me.." Jin presses his hands together to beg. "Please help.."
The youngest three go out on stage without him, performing pied piper and the truth untold without Jin, army and the other members taking turns singing Jin's parts.
(I need to be out there..) Jin clenched his fist in frustration, his body refusing to stand.
The rapline quickly go looking for Jin when they hear Jin's parts being distributed by the other members.
"Where's Jin?" Namjoon asks staff.
"He fainted so we're treating him. He's running a fever.." the staff member replies, the three members quickly searching for him.
"Jin-hyung is gonna be really upset." J-hope says sympathetically, the others nodding in agreement.
Jin was lying on his back on the floor, an IV drip in his left arm, and a cooling patch across his forehead.
"Is he going to the hospital?" Namjoon asks.
J-hope lets go of the breath he didn't realize he was holding when he sees Jin pick up his head to look at him.
"Please, please Namjoon let me finish the show while sitting.." Jin sits up with the help of the staff member.
"Hyung, you should rest here. Army will understand, they'll want you to take care of your health.." Namjoon starts, but Jin is already making it to his feet shaking his head.
"I'm feeling better now, I can do this..please? I'll take it easy.." Jin pulls away from staff's grip on his shoulder to stand on his own, trying his best to hide the pain he still felt. He couldn't disappoint army. "It's only six more songs. I can do this."
Namjoon didn't have time to argue with him. He could hear the youngest members finishing up the last song. "Sh*t.. we're running out of time."
The three rapliners quickly change clothes getting their mic packs safely secured in their back pocket, unaware that Jin was doing the same.
All seven men join together on stage, Namjoon and the others staring in horror when he hears Jin's voice.
"Army!!" He greets them yelling into the mic, sitting in the middle of the stage. The crowd screams when they see Jin back on stage. "I'm sorry I can't give it my all.. my condition isn't the best right now, but I really want to spend time with you. I can't dance, but I'll sing for you.."
The crowd awes at Jin's sudden confession, cheering his name. "Kim seokjin. Kim seokjin!"
Jin puts a finger to his lips to calm the crowd, the stadium growing silent.
(I'll make it through this.. with army behind me I can do anything.)
Hey, do you think Mallek would be into dating sims? Specifically the ones that have robot characters? <- thinks about calculester from monster prom
(anyway, I hope you're getting better and I'm not bothering you with this silly little ask that ran into my head after reading your mallek headcanons and playing the game ever! Keep yourself warm and comfortable, please)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/69f35df4b77db2241d8ef145f0ef1d6b/35c09828f47f5a06-15/s540x810/d1c7da4a366c1260b8bab7911e1b58e329fc9d10.jpg)
Bit late answering this ask! I am indeed much better and no longer sicky teehee
Also erm? You're SO right anon I literally am../j ofc! It makes me like. Stupid happy that people like how I write/see Mallek. UGHH him and Boldir are my fav trolls 5ever and I want to write them the best I can.
As for your your questionnn uhh? I'm honestly not sure? The type of games I can see Mallek playing ranges from casual games, multiplayers that he can get on calls with and talk with friends, sandbox style games, and ofc, if he's really wanting to use up his brain power, some pretty difficult and complicated RPGs that involve a lot of reading or remembering things. The last one interestingly, though, is, to no one's surprise, likes shitposty kind of games.
Mallek, on his own, I don't think seeks out to play dating sims, not the serious ones anyway. Sure, he hears about some popular ones (a lot of eastern Alternian dating sims are crazy popular) and he enjoys some eastern Alternian anime (not a lot to say he's a megafan or anything but, ya know, casually). But he doesn't seek those specific kind of games out himself.
In comes his dumbass friends that he plays online games with. Not a bunch of people. Honestly, it's only like. Five trolls at max he plays online games consistently and is one of his few bustling social groups. There used to be six..but. It brings a dull sadness to his pan if he thinks too much about him.
Anyways! His friends definitely like to pester Mallek and send him shitpost games disguised as other games to prank him. It's funny as fuck. Some of these they'd hide dating sims in them, serious or not, and Mallek would be like, "haha; oh no what do you have me playing this time;", download it, and. It's fucking dating sim. SO stupid but he thinks it's funny and humors them, playing the game on his off time.
He's. Greatly embarrassed to say he enjoyed some of them. Shitposty ones of course were great, but he finds himself shocked to enjoy some of the more serious ones in these prank hidden games his friends have him play. Not a lot of dating sims include alien type characters to romance because aliens are kill on sight on Alternia...but robots aren't. Yeah Mallek finds himself drawn to the more interesting characters in terms of looks or personalities. And that doesn't mean in terms of a character being hot or attractive. I point and laugh at Mallek, robot fucker ROBOT fucker!!
He replays some of these games sometimes, and THAT is why he keeps his friends from seeing when he does by hiding his game status online from them lmao. He still doesn't go out to purposefully play new ones, but he likes the handful of dating sims he does still play from time to time.
[Oh this is gonna be one long ride, then-/j Im gonna try doing a more fast list about the Ocs here and how i imagine they would interact with Antonio, And maybe in the future im gonna do a more detailed version in rp or ooc (Tw of manipulation mention and also longass text)
Also all of these versions are like "Au" almost because their og version is your normal DHMIS goofy ahh bois Laurence - I've already showed a bit how much of an asshole he is and how he would interact with Tony in rp but oH GOD THERES SO MUCH MORE ABOUT HIM- If Lesley is the equal of a "God" to the puppet world, Then Laurence is the equal of literal Lucifer to them- Cunning, Puts himself high asf in a pedestal because he KNOWS he has much, much more power than anyone else, Wants to see everyone bow to him and Will play with your sanity like how a cat plays with a toy. But even thought he acts more "Nicer" normally, He is a lot more cruel and direct to the point when acting more agressive (aka he would totally place his feet on someone's head and squish it out of spite) OH AND I DIDNT EVEN TOUCH ON THE PART ABOUT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH LINNA- THAT'S A WHOLE PIECE BY ITSELF- But explaining quickly how it is; It's him dangling a little light of hope that the loop will stop some hour or another if she listens to him, Making her basically his servent while she doenst notice he is the cause of her entire suffering- Theo - Already mentioned in RP, But he is like- The equal of Colin ig because he is a computer too- but he is so much, much more fucking bitchy and horrible that makes Colin look like a angel beside him. Manipulative, Sadistic to the point of being the word "Schadenfreude" itself, And even if he doenst show it, He could hurt people out of pure spite or boredom all because he can- I can imagine him and Antonio probably talking about the people they manipulated for own benefit or about their enemies, But just if Antonio is able to handle someone with non-stop ADHD behaviour and loud asf robotic voice (also that loves angering people with anything because, again, he can) Marie - Oh hey, That one who gave Linna trauma about medical stuff! Anyways; Your standart mentally insane nurse/doctor type- Always having a extended creepy smile, Having a questionable interest about dissections and vivisections, Acting SICKY, DERANGEDLY sweet and cute in the WORST times possible, And also doenst help that she has hands like the other mother from coraline true form- So maybe her and Antonio would go along really well? Who knows Lucy & Lisa - One is the embodiment of the universe and the other is fucking dea- i mean a spirit/j Ok but- Maybe those two would not really be the type to talk to Antonio, Maybe Lucy would try because he already talked with Laurence and all, And both are togheter so manipulative bitch going to see manipulative hubby's frienb :> Overall, Lucy is the more colder, Snarky type around others, But also would do a amazing "Rapunzel's mother" type if she had the chance. (*cough* linna *cough*) She can really put on a nice talk for hours and hours, And with that, Can get people on her cosmic web pretty well until some day she'll feel like crushing someone's hope- Lisa in the other hand is just- Too quiet and nice i think; They just want to chill around blooming flowers before winter comes and they needs to go help Coffin with all the dying people in the cold, So pretty indiferent about life and death. Rosé & Sabrina - Not really having much about these two interacting with Antonio tbh- Rosé is a literal cult leader like shrignold but instead about love its about the fame world and stuff and Sabrina is snarky and acts more like a popular teenager girl who loves picking on people even thought she is already pretty much an really old adult- And Rosé is the type of old gossipy man who wants to see his enemies fall without having to move a finger- Im gonna end here for now because i have more of them to talk about but it's already so long mjnhbgabhsnjd SORRY FOR LONG TEXT I JUST LIKE U AND THIS BLOG VERY MUCH-]
[[ first off, sorry for not responding rp-wise for so long, sometimes longer writing takes more outta me BUT i have the writing power(tm) now!
& from the sound of it, i think he'd generally get along with all of them! but also want to see what makes them tick, but that's just an antonio thing ]]
injured on stage - hoseok
sickie: hoseok
caregivers: ot7 (kinda)
--------------------------------
The boys were on the final leg of their latest world tour, and all of the members were exhausted after the long legs of travel and the packed schedules, to say the least. They had finally reached Seoul, the final leg of their world tour, and a sold-out four-day run in the Olympic stadium.
All of the members had been putting in extra effort for the final shows, wanting to show their Korean fans how grateful they were for their support. One member who had been pushing himself particularly hard was Hoseok. Hoseok is always extremely self-critical of his performances and always looks for a chance to improve.
The group's choreographer had suggested a change to one of their dance routines by adding an additional dance break starring Hoseok and Jimin, as a way to make the final leg of the shows even more spectacular than their previous ones.
During the last week of preparations, Hoseok had seldom left the practice room, attempting to perfect the new routine. His entire body felt tired and his muscles ached, but he had endured worse, and anyway, he'd do anything to make the fans and their team happy.
Drenched in sweat and feeling more tired than he was sure he had ever been in his life, Hoseok got his phone out of his bag and checked the time. It's 2 AM.
He sighed, raking a hand through his damp hair. 'One more run-through of the choreo and then I'll head back to the hotel.' He told himself.
————
Hoseok didn't leave the dance studio until close to dawn, getting a whole two hours of restless sleep before their managers came around to wake them up for breakfast. When the usually cheery Hoseok appeared at breakfast looking visibly exhausted, the other members were concerned.
"Hobi Hyung, are you feeling okay? You look tired." Taehyung asked around a mouthful of food.
"Yeah Hyung, you didn't get back here until really late last night, I didn't hear you come into our room," Jimin added, casting a glance over to Hoseok, who was leaning against his hand, his elbow on the breakfast table.
He immediately perked up. "Ah, I'm fine, Jiminie-ah!" Hoseok said with fake cheeriness as he helped himself to coffee from the French press coffee pot that was sitting in the middle of the table, adding milk and a sugar packet before taking a sip. "Just didn't find the hotel bed comfy that's all!"
This comment seemed to spark conversations about hotel arrangements amongst the members, and when Hoseok was sure no one was watching, he let his face fall.
He may have fooled some of the members, but he wasn't fooling Yoongi.
"Hobi, you really don't look good," He said deadpan.
"Yoon, I'm just a bit tired that's all," He said with a small smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.
"I'm just saying that you should take it easy until the show later, have a rest for once,"
"Of course Hyung,"
----------
Hoseok, true to character, did not rest.
They were going through final rehearsals in the dance studio before they headed to the stadium for soundcheck.
Hoseok had put every last bit of energy he had into the choreography, and much to his delight it was perfect, not a single mistake and the transition between the original choreo and the added dance break was flawless, almost as if it had been a part of the routine in the first instance.
The group were now on the way to the stadium, the seven of them loaded into the van, with Hoseok taking one of the seats at the very back, Namjoon seated next to him.
The leader looked over to Hoseok, who was fighting to keep his eyes open. "Hoseok-hyung, why don't you have a nap before the soundcheck?"
"Joonie-ah, I'm fine-" Hoseok was cut off by Namjoon jumping in.
"Hoseok, you look awful, just have a twenty-minute nap, it won't kill you,"
Hoseok sighed. "Fine..." He grumbled under his breath and turned to look out of the window of the van, forcing himself to stay awake.
---------
When they arrived at the venue, Seokjin set about ordering some food for them to eat after the soundcheck, the other members sorting through their stuff and scrolling through social media on their phones.
Hoseok made a show of laying down on the couch and closing his eyes to Namjoon but didn't actually sleep.
If the dancer was honest, it felt very good to give his aching muscles a rest, and he let his body relax into the soft black leather of the couch. He didn't truly relax, instead opting to visualise the dreaded dance break behind his closed eyes, running through it time and time again.
On the fifth mental run-through, Hoseok found himself fighting the heavy edges of sleep. He couldn't sleep now, the soundcheck was in ten minutes, and then it would be on with eating dinner and the pre-show ritual.
He decided he'd just enjoy laying down and let his back muscles stretch out a bit longer.
--------
Soundcheck went off without a hitch, and everyone's in-ear monitors and microphones were working as intended. The members got a chance to check the camera angles and get used to the ever so slightly different stage set-up in preparation for the opening show that night.
Once soundcheck had ended, the boys went back to the green room, finally getting to dig into the food that Seokjin had ordered.
Jin had chosen some pork belly for Hoseok, one of his favourites, and something the dancer would usually be extremely excited to eat as a pre-show meal.
Instead, Hoseok quietly thanked the elder member as he handed him the plastic container, and tried to look somewhat interested in the maknae's excited conversation while pushing his food around with his fork in an attempt to make it look like he had been eating from the container.
"Hobi-hyung, are you alright? You're being really quiet.." Jungkook said softly to Hoseok when the rest of the members had become distracted by the 95 liners arguing.
"I'm fine Kookie-ah, I'm just a bit nervous," Hoseok said before taking a small piece of pork and eating it, his stomach churning as he did so. "I just want to give the fans a good show"
Jungkook hummed in agreement, nodding his head before turning back to his food.
A member of the tour crew peered their head around the door, reminding them that they would have to be ready in an hour.
Hoseok swallowed thickly, and silently willed his body to get its shit together.
-------
From Hoseok's perspective, the show was going as planned. Although, in his original plan, he would have definitely had more energy than this.
He'd managed to maintain his bright mood maker persona for the crowd, throwing himself into the performance with any of the residual energy he had left.
He was tired.
No, he was exhausted.
Exhaustion he felt deep in his bones, causing his muscles to ache and his head to pound.
About halfway through the concert, it had started to rain. But that wasn't out of the ordinary for Korea in spring, and none of the members, nor the tour crew thought anything of it.
Hoseok and the other members had just completed their final costume change and were preparing to perform their new choreography in front of fans for the first time.
The stage lights were out, and they quickly moved into their starting positions, before the music began, and Hoseok's brain went into autopilot mode.
He was performing the choreography just as he had practised, transitioning into the dance break, which heavily focused on hip-hop and his ability to pop and lock, as well as some acrobatic elements.
He jumped, as he had done hundreds of times in the past week, but this time his brain felt fuzzy. He couldn't hear the backing track, he couldn't hear the fans. Instead, his ears rang a high pitched noise that irritated his already sore head.
He felt his feet make contact with the floor, only for them to slide out from underneath him, one of his legs going sideways, and his head making contact with the hard floor of the stage, the world fading to black.
-----
"Hoseok?!" He could hear his name being called, it sounded far away.
Something cold and damp came into contact with his forehead, he hissed, teeth grit with pain.
"Hobi-hyung! Wake up!" He heard Jimin's tearful voice.
Hoseok became vaguely aware of something being held against his face. His eyes flicked open, to be met with the blinding view of the dressing room lights above him.
He squinted, and the concerned and teary faces of the other boys came into view. Seokjin was holding a very emotional Jungkook to his chest, looking down at where Hoseok was laying with anxiety lacing his features.
"Seokie-ah! You gave us quite a fright there!" Namjoon said, some relief flooding his voice.
"What happened?" Hoseok asked, but it was muffled by the oxygen mask one of the staff was holding against his face.
"You slipped on the wet floor and hit your head,"
Hoseok tried to sit up but found the firm hands of Yoongi gently pushing him back down to where he was laying on the floor.
"Stay still Hobi-ah, we've got to wait for the ambulance to check you over." The smaller man said, petting Hoseok's hair gently.
Hoseok felt like an idiot. He shouldn't have gone ahead with the performance with the way he was feeling, yet he did anyway. And now he's stuck laying on the floor with his best friends worrying about him.
Tears welled in his eyes and he sniffled. He felt a hand gently smooth his hair back from his forehead and coo. "Hoseokie-ah, I knew you weren't well, it was an even bigger tell when you didn't eat your pork this afternoon," Said Seokjin, who was the one to comfort him this time.
Staff had lifted the oxygen mask from his face now as the paramedics checked Hoseok's eye relaxes for concussion by having him follow their finger while shining a torch in his eyes. When they had finished, they went over to talk with the staff members.
Hoseok let out a high pitched whimper, followed by a sob, his tears flowing freely now. The boy felt more embarrassed than anything, he'd made a show of himself in front of the fans, and the clip of him falling was probably making the rounds on every online news site in Korea now.
"It's okay baby, I'm here, Seokjin's got you," The eldest member assured, his fatherly instincts coming out as he held Hoseok's hand.
The paramedic came over to the group. "Mr Jung is cleared to go home. He doesn't appear to be exhibiting any symptoms of a concussion as of right now, but he still needs plenty of rest, as his blow to the head was major. If he begins to experience any symptoms such as memory loss, disorientation, nausea or blackouts, then you must call an ambulance or bring him to the hospital immediately." He said seriously.
"Yes sir, thank you for all of your help," Namjoon said before a manager showed the ambulance crew out.
He knelt next to Hoseok. "Let's get you home and into bed for a long sleep, ay Hobi-hyung?" He said gently.
Hoseok nodded. He couldn't imagine anything better right now...
can you write a j-hope snz fic please :) i don’t have a specific request. i just miss him and want a cute snz centric fic. thank u🥰
Sorry I'm only able to do quick writes while I try to get my life together. No wifi and no set place to stay right now😔
Lets get right into the story! It's been an on and off process for the past week along with my other wip. Sorry it's so lengthy.. I didn't cut it at all..
"Heh'heh..ktchitxh!" J-hope wakes himself up with his own sneeze, looking around the dimly lit room groggily.
"Bless you, Hyung." Jimin gets him a tissue. "It sounds like you're getting worse."
"Thanks Minn-ah.. I'll be okay, though." J-hope gives him a smile, trying to hide the pain he was feeling from his sinuses building into another sneeze. "Hehtichih!" He sneezes into the tissue.
"I'll go get you some more medicine." Jimin leaves the room, nearly ramming into Yoongi, quickly stepping back."Woah, sorry Yoongi Hyung."
"What's the hurry? Is something wrong?" Yoongi asks.
"Hobi-hyungie has been sneezing and coughing all-night. I need to get him some medicine." Jimin bows quickly in apology before moving past him to get to the bathroom.
Yoongi goes into the room Jimin and J-hope share to see for himself. "Hoba, good morning. Did you sleep well?"
"Yeah, but I woke up not feeling well.. it was just a little runny nose and a tickle in my throat but..ah..hang on.." J-hope holds up a finger, feeling the sneeze building up breath hitching. "Heh..Heh..itdugh!" He sneezes into his elbow the itch returning. "He'itcchu!" He sniffles, rubbing the tissue across his dripping nose. "I think I caught a cold.."
"Will you be okay to fly?" Yoongi rubs the nape of J-hope's neck. "Do you feel feverish or nauseous?"
"No, I'm okay suga-hyung. I mostly feel tired and my head hurts from my sin..ey..eh..itchisgh!" J-hope quickly spins to avoid sneezing on Yoongi when the sneeze comes out of without much warning.
"Hyungie I got some water and some medicine."
Jimin returns to the room, pouring out some medicine in the small cup. "Here Hobi-hyung."
"Thanks Jiminie." J-Hope takes it, shooting the bitter liquid down his throat with a grimace. "Eugh.." he quickly washes it down with some water.
"You all packed Hobi-hyung? Do you want me to help?" Jimin asks, already looking for the suitcase J-hope started filling last night.
"I just need to pack my carry on and toiletries. I'll do it, you need to..eh..heigh!" J-hope buried his face in his elbow. "Heh..Titvhiugh.."
"I can do my own and help you, hyung. All I need to do is to pack my tablet and charger and put my toiletries bag in my backpack. Just tell me what to find and I'll get it. You try taking a quick shower." Jimin pushes him towards the bathroom.
"Alright I'm going.. thanks..Ji..eh..itchii!" J-hope sniffles, rubbing his nose. Maybe a hot shower will help..
"Stay close to me." Jin keeps his arm around J-hopes shoulder as they move forward to the next check point."Keep Hoba out of view."
Jungkook and Taehyung nod, one going behind him the other flanking his other side. Yoongi walks in front of him, reaching behind him to grab J-hopes hand.
J-hope squeezes Yoongi's hand, the throbbing headache worsening as he hears hundreds of voices screaming as soon as they leave the car, lights flashing as they take photo after photo.
J-hope closed his eyes, pulling the ball cap farther over his face, trusting his members to lead the way for him. "Heh..hehitdhu!" He sneezes into the face mask, falling forward. Taehyung and Jin tighten their grip on the ailing rapper to keep him from hitting the ground. "Don't worry, I got you. It's just another 20 feet.." Jungkook murmurs by his ear.
Namjoon kindly dismisses the reporters, giving them very brief answers. He only cared about getting J-hope safely onto the plane. "I'm sorry, but we need to go check in so we don't miss our flight." He deeply bows, going through check-in.
"Could I see your passport?" The woman asks politely, holding out a shaky hand.
"Ah, Yoongi my passport?" Namjoon turns to him.
Yoongi gives the woman all seven passports with the tickets tucked in trying to quickly move things along. "Here.. everyone's passport."
The woman goes through all the passports, matching who was who. "Could I see your face really quickly?"
"My brother isn't feeling well. Please, could we skip it..?" Jin asks with a deep bow, lowering his mask. "The crowd is getting a bit out of hand as well.."
"Heh..heitchi!" J-hope sneezes again, the woman giving him a sympathic smile.
"Alright. You can go." She allows them past.
"Thank you." Each member bows with gratitude quickly moving along.
"We just need to get to our seats then you can lay down. Are you okay Hoba?" Yoongi asks gently, continuing to lead J-hope through the airport.
"My head hurts and I..I can't breathe well.." J-hope's voice comes out as a congested whimper, sniffling to try to ease his breathing.
"I brought the cold medicine in my carry on. Just wait until we get settled in our seats okay Hoseok-ah?" Jin gently rubs the back of J-hope's neck.
J-hope nods, feeling another sneeze building, breath hitching. "Heh..heh...hehtichu!"
"Bless you hyungie.. It sounds like you're getting worse.." Jimin frowns. "At least your seat is with Yoongi and Jinnie-hyung.."
"Yoongi could we switch seats? I don't want to sit at the end.." J-hope asks when they find their row.
Yoongi lets him by the window, taking the seat next to him. "You can have whatever you want Hoba."
Taehyung takes his seat behind J-hope. "Hyung, you can put your seat back as far as you need. Don't worry about me."
J-hope goes to put it back, but Jin's voice stops him.
"Don't put it back until take off, though." Jin warns with a sympathic smile."I know you want to rest, but you have to stay up until we're in the air.."
"Okay, okay.."J-hope knew the rules, but he wasn't feeling well and just wanted to lay down and sleep the pain away. His head was pounding, his nose was completely stuffed, and he felt freezing. "Heh..Heh..itchi!"
"Bless you, Hoba." Jin tells him distractedly, digging in his bag to find the liquid he packed to help ease J-hope's symptoms. "Ah, here it is. Here, sit up for me. We need to do it before the plane takes off."
"We should've given it to him in the car before you fell asleep.."Yoongi helps J-hope sit up, placing one hand on the middle of his back, the other holding his elbow. "You're warm Hoba.."
"I know, but I didn't have the heart to wake him and he needs as much sleep as he can get.." Jin replies with a frown cracking the seal of the medicine bottle.
"Im freezing.." J-hope sniffles, feeling the itch returning. He holds his breath, trying to avoid sneezing again. He tucks his finger underneath his nose, relaxing when the itch dies down.
"I'll ask them for a blanket." Jin slowly pours the medicine in the cup, putting it by J-hope's lips. "Here, Hoseok. Take this for me and then you can sleep."
J-hope obeys, taking the shot of medicine face twisting at the taste, coughing.
"Sh*t..I don't have any water. I'm sorry, Hoba." Jin apologizes with a little bow.
"It's..eh..titchi!" J-hope sneezes breath hitching. "Hehitchi...Heh..heitxhi..Heitugh..." He groans, rubbing the bridge of his nose near his eyes to try to ease the pressure building behind them.
The announcement of take-off comes, Jin taking his seat. "Buckle up Hoseok-ah.."Jin reminded him, but Yoongi was already reaching over to do it for him.
"I got it Hoba." Yoongi takes his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze as the turbulence of take off makes his stomach clench.
J-hope leans on Yoongi's shoulder. "Thanks Suga-hyung.. hey..are you feeling okay..?"
"I'm fine.. I'm just a bit nauseous. I'll be okay when they plane get settled." Yoongi leans his head on J-hope. "Did you take medicine for motion sickness?"
"Yeah, Jiminie gave me some after my shower.. did you?" J-hope already guessed his reply when he feels Yoongi give his hand a squeeze when the plane shakes, settling itself in the sky.
"No, I ran to the store with hyung and forgot to take it." Yoongi turns behind him to Jimin. "Minnah do you have it in your carry on?"
"Ah..I think so. Hang on." Jimin starts digging into his bag, feeling blindly for the medicine. "Ah.. there.. I got it." He gives it to Yoongi who takes it gratefully.
"Thanks Jiminie."
It only takes another minute for the pilot to make the announcement it it was safe to move about the plane, Yoongi unbuckling to ease the pressure on his stomach, unbuckling J-hope after. "You can lay down now Hoba."
J-hope gently lowers his chair back as far as it could go, which wasn't much, but he knew it still took up Taehyung's legroom. "I'm sorry Tete."
"Don't worry about it. It's only a few inches lost. It's nothing." Taehyung reassures him, gently running his fingers through J-hope's hair."Just focus on resting."
J-hope nods,trying to get himself comfortable.
"Excuse me Miss, could I please have a blanket please?" Jin asks the flight attendant, bowing his head. "My brother is cold.."
"Heh..heh'itch.. He'hegitxh!" J-hope turns to his other side to face away from the attendant, lowering his face mask to try to clean up his face with a crumpled pocket tissue. "I'm sorry.."
The woman looks over at J-hope with sympathy. "Bless you..It's okay.. I'll bring you some tissues. Did you need anything else sir?" The flight attendant bows back.
"Just some water, please?"Yoongi asks her. "Two of them."
"Yes sir." She leaves to fulfill their request.
"The medicine should kick in soon." Yoongi reassures J-hope, gently rubbing the nape of his neck.
"Hyung..?" J-hope turns onto his back, turning to face Yoongi.
"What is it?"
"Could you..rub my temples? My head really hurts.." j-hope felt shy asking, but he knew Yoongi wouldn't refuse his request leaning his head against him.
Yoongi gently places his thumbs on the soft spots on either side of J-hope's head. "Don't sneeze on me.." he murmurs as he gently rubs his thumbs in small circles.
"I'll try.. thanks, Yoongi.." J-hope relaxes under his brother's touch, drifting off to sleep as the pain eases up.
"I-" the flight attendant stops talking when Jin puts a finger to his lips, lowering her voice to a whisper. "I brought water, a few blankets and a packet of tissues. Did you need anything else?"
Jin shakes his head. "Thank you so much." He bows, taking the blanket from her and draping the blanket over J-hope.
"We'll have to get him to drink some water when he wakes up. He's sweating a bit.." Yoongi whispers, slowly pulling away from J-hope's temples. "Rest well Hoba.."
"Heh..heh'tichi !" J-hope sneezes into Yoongi's chest, making Yoongi jump with an 'oh sh*t'. He was hardly asleep more than a half hour before the sneezes returned, lowering his mask to not trap the gross. "Hehtichih! Heihitchugh..."
"You okay hyung?" Jimin leans forward to get a good look at J-hope. The sweat that was glistening on his face was gone, but his nose was still bright red making his pale complexion stand out. "Do you want some water?"
J-hope blinks sleepily, still trying to process where he was. "Ah.. right.. we're going to..to..heh'tichi!" A sneeze interrupted his sentence, covering his face with the blanket.
"He's really not doing well.." Namjoon sits backwards from sitting in front of Yoongi. "We might have to figure something out for the concert.."
"I'll be okay by the concert. Don't worry about me I'm starting to feel better already." J-hope quickly sits up right, trying to make himself look stronger than he felt.
"Don't push yourself. Hope, if you're sick Army will understand. Sh*t happens. They would much rather you rest than perform. We'll get you checked out when we land" Namjoon tells him firmly, but with the look in J-hope's eyes, he knew he didn't see sitting it out as an option.
"I'll be okay Joon-ah. I can do it. I'll just get lots of rest and drink lots of fluids." J-hope was glad his face was covered by the mask, because underneath it his nose twitches as the itch returns, but he presses his lips together, stifling his sneeze.
"Here Hoba. You're voice sounds hoarse, drink some water.." Yoongi passes him a water bottle. "Careful I took the lid off."
J-hope drinks about a quarter of the water before his breath hitches, another sneeze building. "Yoongi-yah..ah.."
Yoongi quickly takes the water bottle back right before another flurry of sneezes escapes J-hope.
"Ah..itchish! Hiheiychi...! Heh..heh..hitchu!" J-hope groans, feeling the pressure building behind his eyes again.
"You should try to blow your nose Hobi-hyung. It might help." Jungkook suggested with concern when he sees the pain in J-hope's eyes.
"Alright.. I'll go try." J-hope gets up, not wanting to be disrespectful to the other passengers, going to the bathroom. Jin follows, not wanting to leave him alone.
"I'm okay hyung." J-Hope tells him with another wet sniffle, but he was relieved he was there. Dozens of eyes were on him and he felt better that the attention was divided between the two of them and relived they didn't approach.
"I have to use the bathroom anyways. You go first though. Okay?"
J-hope nods, going into the bathroom and pulling out a tissue, trying to clear his nose but hardly anything comes his nose crusted shut. He saw himself in the mirror and scrunched up his nose. "I look like Rudolph.." he whines to his reflection, splashing water on his face to try to rewet his dried up nose.
He tried once more to clear it, this time successfully getting the yellow mucus into the tissue, triggering a sneeze. "He..hehitugh..!"
"You okay Hoba?" Jin asks from the other side.
"Yeah.. I'm okay..I can breathe a li..li..iyitch!" J-hope sneezes into the tissue, folding it up and throwing it away to use another. "Almost done.."
"Take your time. You don't have to rush for me." Jin reassures him, hearing J-hope blow his nose one more time before coming out. "You feel any better now?"
"A little.."
"Go back to your seat. I'll be fine on my own. You should try to sleep some more." Jin urges him to go, gently nudging him towards their seats.
"Alright..thanks hyung." J-hope puts his face mask back over his face and goes back to the others.
"You okay Hoseok-ah?" Namjoon asks when he takes his seat again.
"Yeah.. I'm okay besides the sneezing.. it's annoying.. every time my headache goes away I start sneezing again and it comes right back.." J-hope says with irritation lacing his usually cheerful tone when he feels the itch return to the tip of his nose, pinching the bridge of it to try to stop the sneeze from coming.
"I wish there was more I could do to help..oh! I have some advil i got when we were in LA, it could help with the headache." Namjoon starts digging in his carry on for the medicine he bought last week, finding the small blister pack and popping one out. "Here Hope. It should help with the pain."
"Thanks Namjoon-ah." He takes the round pull and places it on his tongue, washing it down with water.
Jin returns taking his seat next to Yoongi. "You should try to sleep some more Hobi. We still have another nine hours til we land."
"Okay, SeokJinnie-hyung.." J-hope had no arguments there. He was hardly up for ten minutes, but his eyelids were already feeling heavy again. This cold is draining all my energy.. how am I going to make it through the rehearsal tomorrow? I need to see the stage in person.. I'm the dance leader. Namjoon needs me..
Yoongi puts his hand on J-hope's thigh when he sees J-hope's brow furrow with worry. "Hey.. don't worry about anything, Hoba. We'll figure this out. Just focus on getting better."
J-hope gives him a small smile, the confidence in the oldest rapper's voice calming his nerves. "Thanks Yoongi.."
Yoongi takes the blanket and recovers up J-hope. "Now get some more sleep.. you can use me as a pillow.." he adds the last part softly, getting a small giggle from J-hope when he sees the slightest tinge of pink rise in his cheeks.
J-hope accepts his offer, leaning his head on Yoongi's shoulder. "I love you hyung." He yawns out the words, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over him.
"Sleep well Hoba.." Yoongi smiles when he feels J-hope's body grow heavier. "I love you too." He whispers, hoping only J-hope hears him.
How about a Hoseok depressive episode in which he begins to get bad again, he no longer want to eat not having appetite, so when members try to feed him a little by force pressuring to eat, he ends up gagging and throwing all back up, finally he confess, and after therapy he again feels better and eats healthy again.
This is a quite new and interesting idea for me. Thank you for requesting.
Tw: depression, emeto, v****
Sickie: Hoseok
Caretakers: OT7
________________________________________
This.... was not like the Hobi bts knew. The bright ray of light that use to shine dulled over this week. Everyone around him could tell. He wasn't himself. It was like when he was sick. when hobi was sick he had no energy to give others. He's quieter when he's sick. More tired. But hobi wasn't sick right now.
______________Hoseok POV___________________
It was happening again..... another.. episode he guesses. It was harder to do the things he usually does. In the morning he would rise early and greet Yoongi for a chat at the table as he ate his breakfast sandwich and while yoongi drank his iced americano. Now in the morning, he would stay sleeping feeling tired no matter if he slept in or not. Someone had to drag him out of bed if it were a day where the members had to work together.
He use to be excited to dance. He would be getting his exercise in, staying fit while doing something he loved to do all his life. Now Dancing felt like a chore. He use to find the ache he had after dancing rewarding proof that he did his very best. Now it felt like his body was touching him for trying and failing. everything he loved to do felt meaningless and he didn't even know why. He found himself not dancing as much, not eating enough not keeping himself as well kept as he usually was. No matter what he did he couldn't find that happiness he use to have. he felt awful for feeling this way. He swore to himself he wouldn't let himself get like this again. When this feeling came it felt like he was stuck with it forever.
He hated himself for feeling this emptiness not bothering to want to do anything. He knew lots of people depended on him, Army, his family, and friends.... the members. They were practically family to him. They worked so hard over the years together. Here he is ruining their legacy...
_________________-end pov -______________
The members. All knew something was terribly wrong. The manager noticed. He figured if J-hope has no motivation or energy bts in a whole might start to feel overworked so he gave them some time off. The schedule changed drastically but the manager rather than for them to have a burnout or for them to have a stroke. There wouldn't be a schedule if something were to happen to them and The manager would blame himself if something were to happen.
The manager decided that they should take this time to spend it together, no traveling no excessive work. yoongi wasn't even allowed to write songs. They were only allowed to rest their bodies and have a bit of fun.
The members knew what was actually wrong with hoseok. depression. They deiced this would be a good time to give Hosoek a little push something to help him feel more like himself and less stuck. They have all had their times when they just didn't feel like themself. And they knew that for each and every one of those times hoseok was there for the other members so they just wanted that for him.
They all got up one morning one by one. Jk and Jin started on breakfast. The other members washed their faces brushing their teeth as they slowly got up. Jimin after getting was told by yoongi and Namjoon that he should try and get hobi to come to eat breakfast. They knew he hadn't been eating like he was supposed to lately.
They felt like this was a good first step to help hobi out of his depressive episode. Jimin walked out of the kitchen and into Hoseok's room. HOsokes room was a mess. Jimin had never seen it like this before. Jimin knew right away that Hosoek's depression had gotten worse because hobi was the absolute cleanest member no matter what. Seeing Hosoek lie there mad Jimin feels sad himself. He walked into the other boy's room and spoke softly. " Hyung" breakfast is almost ready to come to eat"
Hosoek opened his eyes and looked at Jimin plainly. Jimin frowned when he wasn't treated with Hoseok's intoxicating smiles. Jimin felt even sadder after that but he kept his hopes high.
Jimin pulled hoseok out of bed. hobi wasn't amused. Hosoek would have usually begun to get playfully with Jimin but Hsooek just stood there outside his bed giving an expression Yoongi would have had. Jimin ignored it just as he would have done yoongi and guided hoseok to the kitchen while holding his hand.
a waft of good smell food hit their noses. Hoseok didn't t feel hungry. He wasn't even in the mood to pretend like he was. not even for the member everything just seemed so pointless. Jimin sat Hoseok down in the seat beside him. Everyone greeted everyone at the table.
Hoseok didn't say a word. He just kept looking down. Yoongi, jk, and Jin placed down several plates of food. Most of the foods were hoseoks favorite. Hoseok noticed that. Tae passed out plates and silver. Rm Sat down across from Hoseok eyes long hungrily at the food.
Hosoek took a deep breath held it and let it go. Everyone dug in. Hoesk touched nothing and just sat there staring at his knees not wanting to make eye contact it would only make him feel worse he thought.
"hobi.... " namjoon says in a calm and welcoming tone. Hoseok got nervous. " you gotta eat budy" , " don't know if you just don't feel well or if it's something else... I just know not eating only makes it worse..." please for us please eat..."
Jimin put a spoon of food in hobi's mouth and he was hesitant but he eventually accepted it. Hoseok was willing to eat a few bites but more and more was being shoved into his face. He stopped letting Jimin feed him. He wasn't even hungry, to begin with.
All the food Jimin made him feel a bit nauseous. He kept his mouth shut. "hyunggg?!!! you gotta eat!" Jimin wined
Rm chimed in. "Hobi we know you haven't been eating right, we have to take care of ourselves even while on a break" Hobi didn't react he acted as though no one even said a word. He just sat their eye cast down. Jimin got frustrated. Jimin held hoseoks arms away so they wouldn't stop him Jimin shoved the food into hobi's mouth.
This caught hobi by surprise. Jimin doesn't know if he put it too far back and hit his uvula or if he had fed him too much but he immediately regretted doing that to hoseok. Hobi lurched forward and gagged. He immediately threw everything up on the table.
Hosoeok retched and threw up again in the same spot. It was a hard sight to see. most of the members backed away from the table. Tae lost his appetite after seeing that.
Hoseok feeling embarrassed that he got sick in the kitchen and still nauseated ran to the bathroom. he threw up there as well. Namjoon, Jimin, and yoongi came in to comfort him. Jin stood outside the bathroom there wasn't enough room for him to try and squeeze in and help. Plus Namjoon and Jimin had it handled. Jin waited close by just in case he was needed. Jimin apologized and rubbed his back as hoseok threw up the last round of his meal. Namjoon fetched medicine for nausea out of the cabinet. Jin walked back to the kitchen and grab some water. Yoongi held Hosoek's hand.
Hosoek felt awful. He felt it was time to explain himself and what was going on with him. He figured someone would be asked him anyway. When hoseok felt he had control of his stomach he spilled all his feelings
everyone in the small room sat quietly and listened to him. they told him he was going to be alright and that they'd figure things out. Jimin rubbed his back. Yoongi held his hand, and Namjoon gave words that made peace in hoseok's mind. Tears ran down the boy's face. Jimin felt like crying too feeling bad for forcing him to eat without knowing his full situation. Jimin hugged the boy and apologies hsoeok apologized back.
Namjoon, hosoek, and Jin decided it was best to call up his therapist and see if he could be fitted into the schedule. They managed to get an early appointment for the next day.
until then they rested with hobi. Hobi finally managed to get good rest that didn't make him feel tired afterward. He slept cozy with the members still holding yoongi's hand not wanting to let go. He felt content when he was with them.
____ mini time skip______
the next day he talked with his therapist. things didn't immediately get back to the way they were but hoseok put in the effort and the members did the same making sure he was alright and helping whenever he needed. He even had a bit of an appetite.....
I hope you enjoy...
Haechan and Mark of NCT are both photic sneezers, so could you please do a fic where during a particularly sunny day, they're both sneezy and the Dreamies get hyungs involved because they think both Mark and Haechan are sick?
hope you enjoy!
sickies: Mark & Haechan
caretakers: mainly Jisung and Taeyong (others more background)
Mark p.o.v
you know life would be so much easier if I could not be basically allergic to bright lights, and man I would kill for a pair of sunglasses, or better yet, just to go inside.
although I wasn’t struggling quite as much as Haechan, who is more sensitive than me. He was sitting in a corner away from the dreamies, probably because he was shy about it.
I go over to him “hey dude, how you doing? he shrugs. “avoiding sunlight?” “yeah” he says before laughing softly.
“Hyungs!!!” I hear from behind us, we both turn around, seeing Jisung standing there. and the regret is instant, because even though he is younger than us he is still taller, meaning we both have to look up to meet his eyes. and instantly the two of us sneezed. Jisung looked startled. “bless you hyungs, that must be some serious soulmate stuff, you even sneeze at the same time”
we both laughed nervously. He eyed us both suspiciously “wait you two aren’t sick are you”
“no of course not!”
“are you sure? You aren’t over working yourselves are you?”
“no! We’re fine, I promise”
“you swear?’
“I swear”
“okay, but if you start feeling sick let someone know okay hyungs”
“okay”
Jisung p.o.v
okay so being honest, I didn’t believe a word of it, they must be sick, I mean SM works them both so hard, never giving them a break, if someone was working that hard they would get sick, it’s just logic.
I feel like I should tell someone, like an older member, or maybe our manager, hmmm...
OH I should tell Taeyong hyung, he’s the leader, and he has been with the other two for years, so they’d listen to him, right?
Of course
I pulled out my phone and clicked on leader hyung and quickly shot him a text informing him that I was pretty sure that Mark and Haechan are sick.
I was especially happy when only about 30 seconds after I sent the text to Taeyong hyung I saw Haechan hyung double over in a harsh sneezing fit of about 6 sneezes. I quickly head over to him, grabbing a small handful of tissues and handing it to him. “Are you really sure you aren’t sick hyung” I say placing my hand on his forehead, “hmmm feels normal, but I did tell Taeyong hyung just in case”
“I told you I’m not sick!”
“you expect me to believe that hyung! I just saw you sneeze 6 times in a row without stopping” I say firmly. gently tilting his head up to look at me. “J-heh- heschu heh-eshchu”
“bless you hyung, seriously I think you might be sick”
“I’m fine” he mutters sniffling and he scrubs at his nose with his sleeve. I shake my head in disbelief. I see Mark hyung walk past, wearing sunglasses. I was about to ask but after the look he gave me I quickly change my mind.
Taeyong p.o.v
I finished up my recording that I was doing and was going to go back to the dorm, but when I checked my phone I saw a text from Jisung, it read:
Hey hyung, I just wanted to let you know that Haechan and Mark are sick, but they are refusing to admit it and I knew they would probably listen to you, so could you come and intervene
I shake my head those two get overworked by SM so much that I’m not surprised they are sick, and also considering that they are on the older side of the dreamies, I could see why they are reluctant to show sickness, they probably don’t want to worry anyone.
Jisung p.o.v
I decide that I should probably tell the others that Mark and Haechan are sick so they are aware. So I call the others (besides Mark and Haechan hyung, of course) over to talk. I quickly explain what is going on and tell them that I notified Taeyong hyung. Jaemin hyung looks confused “what’s wrong with them?”
“well, I’m not sure, they were sneezing, and Mark hyung was wearing sunglasses, so I think he probably has a headache”
“fever?”
“nope”
“Jisung.... have you ever heard of a photic sneeze reflex?”
“huh? I don’t think so”
“well it’s basically, when a person who is photic, gets exposed to a bright light, such as sunlight, they sneeze, and both of them have it, I’m guessing Mark was wearing the sunglasses because he wanted to dim the light, probably assuming that it would make him sneeze less, I doubt that they are sick” Jaemin hyung explains.
I stare at them in shock. “but I told Taeyong hyung, he said he was on his way over to check on them”
“oh well, it’ll be fine, he’ll understand” Chenle hyung says with a shurg. I was a bit embarrassed for not believing hyungs when they said they weren’t sick, but I felt even worse when Taeyong showed up and immediately went and lectured Mark and Haechan.
I shyly watched trying not to feel to badly, which was hard when the others were laughing at me while we watched Haechan and Mark trying to convince Taeyong that they weren’t sick and also watching them try to find out how Taeyong found out about this.
I saw Taeyong hyung point at me and I instantly went and and hid behind Renjun hyung, which in hindsight was the worst person to hide behind. because Taeyong, Haechan and Mark hyungs all came over.
“Jisung, we appreciate your concern but we aren’t sick, it’‘s photic sneeze reflex”
“yeahm which means if I do this-” Haechan says a he suddenly removes Mark hyung’s sunglasses. To which Mark glares at him from behind watery eyes. “n-heh-not fu-heh-eitkshu- itktshu- not funny” His glare at Haechan hyung would have been more intimidating if it weren’t for how watery his eyes are and how pink his nose is. “bless you” Haechan says smirking at him. “you’re mean”
“sorry” he says not looking sorry in any way, shape, or form.
“I’m sorry for not believing you when you said you weren’t sick, I was just worried that you were overworking yourselves”
“don’t feel bad, I mean we should have explained it to you to save the confusion”
“I still feel bad, what can I do to make it up to you?”
“sunglasses, buy us a pair of sunglasses”
“okay deal”
alright I hope y’all enjoyed it, I’m sorry if it is shit, it’s my first time posting a story, so if you have feedback or advice feel free to let me know!
my bts story should be posted today, or tomorrow, the very latest Thursday.
Have a good day, sorry if it was bad!
1,2, 10-16, 21-28, 31-36 for the emeto this or that! (ps murry crimas)
Thanks, J! I hope you had a good Christmas!
1. Stomach flu or food poisoning? I like both, but I write more stomach flu.
2. More focus on nausea or the actual vomiting? Vomiting
10. Throwing up from over eating or throwing up from eating something that doesn’t agree with them? Probably overeating.
11. Food sitting uncomfortably in sickie’s stomach, but it won’t come up or having nothing in their stomach but still frequently bringing up bile? Sitting uncomfortably, but unable to throw up.
12. Throwing up from a having a bad migraine or throwing up from having a bad stomach ache? Migraine.
13. Only being able to throw up a little every couple of hours or getting it all up at once? I like all at once.
14. Humiliated because they threw up in a crowded area or humiliated because they threw up in front of the last person they wanted to see?(ex: crush, enemy, boss) I'm not really one for the humiliation factor, but I guess the crowded area one.
15. Describing nausea as ‘swirling’ or ‘churning’? Already answered!
16. Caretaker rubbing sickie’s stomach to help settle their tummy or pressing on the sickie’s stomach, so they can get it out and over with? Both are fine, but I think I prefer the caretaker pressing a little bit more.
21. Chunky or liquid? Bring on the chunks lol.
22. Can’t make it to the toilet: throw up in the bathtub or sink? Either is fine/no preference.
23. Holding hair their own hair back or someone else holding their hair? Someone else.
24. Coughing up puke or burping it up? I love burpy puking omg.
25. Projectile vomiting that will need to be cleaned up or a more controlled stream that is easily flushed away? Projectile. The messier the better.
26. Drinking Sprite or chewing on ginger to settle nausea? I typically don't utilize either in my writing, but I guess Sprite?
27. Going extremely quite before throwing up or panicking? Going quiet.
28. ‘Upset tummy’ or ‘ sour stomach’? Can I combine them and say 'upset stomach?'
31. Throwing up while showering or throwing up while in bed? In bed.
32. ‘Vomit’ or ‘puke’? Already answered!
33. Sickfic with tons of fluff or angst? Depends on my mood tbh, but I usually end with more fluff.
34. Food sensitive stomach or nerve sensitive tummy? Food sensitive
35. Throwing up after coughing too hard or throwing up from being extremely dizzy? Both...but maybe dizziness just a teensy bit more.
36. A simple “I don’t feel so good” or “I’m going to throw up”? "I don't feel good," especially when said after sickie has already thrown up half their stomach contents lol.
Can we just go home?
Fandom: Stray Kids
Sickie: Jisung
Caregiver: 2racha + Felix
Jisung’s POV.:
I was just brushing my teeth, when I suddenly felt really sick. Quickly dropping my toothbrush, I gripped the sink and gagged harshly over it but nothing came up. My stomach was in knots and my mouth watered. I decided my teeth were clean enough, put the toothbrush away and rinsed my mouth. Along with the nausea, a dull pain settled around my navel. Thinking I probably just had to go, I sat on the toilet for a while but nothing would happen. I realized that I had occupied the bathroom for quite a while now, so I quickly finished up and walked to my room, so the others could get ready for the day. We’d first have dance practice and then a fansign afterwards, so I put on loose sweatpants, hoping to minimize the pressure around my middle. The pain wasn’t too bad but the nausea certainly was a nuisance. It’s not like I wasn’t used to it though, my anxiety often times messing with my stomach. Today was different though, I could tell. I hung out on my bed with the trash can pulled close just in case, while waiting for my friends, so we could head out. Way too soon, Chan called us to leave and I sighed following them to practice. I certainly didn’t feel like dancing right now but I really needed to improve, besides I didn’t want to speak up because they would probably be annoyed at me for always complaining. Sure, anxiety wasn’t fun but I felt like I complained way too much when my stomach bothered me from stress, so I wanted it to be different today.
Practice went well, despite the ache in my abdomen. At this point, I was sure I’d throw up eventually but nothing had happened so far. I had mapped out my emergency plan, visualized the route to the closest bathroom down the hallway and memorized the location of the room’s trashcan, in case I wouldn’t be able to make it. With the pain grew the anxiety, or was it the other way around? My gut told me that something wasn’t right but I pushed the feeling back down, it was probably just nerves due to the fansign later. “Jisung-ah, you need to focus, you’re constantly missing the beat”, Chan startled me from my thoughts. I sighed and got back to my starting position, preparing for another run through: “Sorry hyung, I’ll do better.” Giving it my all, I managed to stay on beat the next time, although my head was spinning afterwards and all the jumping around had turned the dull pain in my stomach into a sharp stabbing. Apparently, Chan and Minho were finally satisfied with our dancing and told us to go wash up before we’d be picked up to go to the fansign event. I suppressed a wince when another cramp twisted my intestines and hid my face by pretending to wipe away the sweat. Walking had started to become a bit difficult, so I was lagging behind a bit. Felix slowed down a bit to let me catch up before starting to ramble about how excited he was to meet Stay again. I gave him a tired smile, though I wasn’t entirely sure it really reached my eyes. The Aussie trailed off mid-sentence and frowned at me: “Are you ok? Nervous?” – “Kinda”, I admitted, glancing at the ground. “Does your stomach hurt again?”, he asked, pointing at the arm I had subconsciously wrapped around my middle. ‘Damn, I really am awesome at hiding stuff. Why do they always have to notice how weak I am?’ I nodded ashamed, still avoiding his eyes: “Sorry, I know I’m to much of a baby. I don’t want to hold y’all back.” – “Hey, you’re not a baby. I’ll make you some tea while you shower, yeah? You’ll be fine”, my dongsaeng promised and I gave him a grateful smile.
Felix really kept his promise and as soon as we were back at the dorm, he set about making a cup of chamomile tea while I went to the bathroom. My shower turned out rather short, since I spent more time on the toilet, still hoping the pain would get better once I go. The nausea was ever-present at the back of my throat but I couldn’t throw up. Quickly drying off, I met Felix in my room. He had placed my favorite cup onto my desk before leaving to take a shower himself. I thanked him quietly and he hugged me on his way out. Changing into my outfit for the fansign, I let the tea cool down and searched my drawers for some anti-emetics because if there was something I did not want to happen, it was throwing up in front of a crowd of people. I used the warm tea to rinse down the pill and settled back on my bed till we’d have to leave. Scrolling through my phone, I slowly sipped the tea and waited for either the tea or the medicine to sooth my upset stomach. The pain had shifted from where it had lingered around my navel. I felt like there was a knife stuck in my lower right side. Still dwelling on my misery, I was startled by a knock on my door. “Yeah?” In walked Chan, taking a seat next to me. “Hey, you ok? Lix told me you weren’t feeling your best”, the leader asked, “is it nerves?” I shrugged, slightly annoyed at myself for not being able to keep my problems to myself: “Probably, Lixxie made me some tea, it’ll be fine.” It was a lie but I didn’t want to worry my leader by saying it felt wrong, really wrong. “Alright, don’t you want to sit with us in the living room? Maybe we can distract you a bit”, my hyung offered and I let him walk me to the living room. For a while, I sat between Changbin and Hyunjin, smiling along with their bickering but trying to avoid laughing, as it hurt to bad.
When we got settled in the car that would take us to the venue, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and pulled it out to find a text from Felix.
Koala J
Hey, do you feel better now?
Squirrel
Yeah, thanks again, the tea really helped
And thanks for not asking out loud
Not everyone needs to know how annoyingly weak I am
Koala J
There is no weakness in it
But it’s ok not to want everyone’s eyes on you the entire time
As long as you at least talk to one of us
I put my phone away and made eye-contact with the younger. We exchanged a quick smile before the Aussie turned to annoy Seungmin. I was glad he believed me because I was a really bad liar, texting made it easier for me though. The pain had only increased and I turned to look out the window, so the others wouldn’t be able to see the grimace on my face. A soft whimper escaped my lips, causing Hyunjin to eye me worriedly. I pretended to be confused as to why he was looking at me till he seemed confused himself whether he had actually heard anything. We neared our destination way too soon and I dreaded having to get up, or move at all for that matter. I highly doubted I’d be able to walk but forced myself out of my seat and onto shaky legs. Aware of the cameras around, I tried to cover up the limp I had developed over the last few hours. I just couldn’t pull my right leg forward. Once again, I was lagging behind, when I was suddenly lifted from my feet. Gritting my teeth, as the movement tore at my side, I turned to look at who had scooped me up. It was Changbin, who pretended to be fooling around with me but for a short moment he leaned closer to my ear whispering: “I know you’re not fine. Just pretend we’re having fun and that you could walk by yourself, which I know you can’t.” – “Yah! Put me down hyung!”, I yelled, flailing my arms around while trying to keep my middle as still as possible. The older laughed at me and carried me to our dressing room out of the public’s sight.
Changbin’s smile immediately faltered, as soon as we were alone. He gently lowered me onto the couch in the dressing room and crouched down on eye-level. “What’s going on Sungie?”, he hummed as I curled up hugging my stomach. Soon Chan and Felix had gathered around me too, the younger scrunching up his nose: “Hyung, you told me you felt better.” The leader clicked his tongue, obviously disappointed though I couldn’t tell whether he was mad at me for lying or for holding them back again. “I’m sorry. It’s just a stomachache and I already took some medicine before we left, plus, Felix made me tea. It’ll go away soon”, I admitted guiltily. My hyungs exchanged a look before Changbin tucked my hair behind my ears: “Are you sure you can do this? It has to hurt really bad for you to take medicine.” I nodded, freezing when there was a hand on my forehead. “Chan-hyung, he does feel a bit warm to me. It’s unlikely to be nerves”, the rapper stated, ignoring my complaints. Chan sighed: “You really want to do this, Sung?”, I nodded, “Alright but tell us if it gets too bad or you need to leave.” I agreed before getting my makeup done and heading out with everyone else to take my seat at the long table.
Putting on my best acting skills, I smiled and joked with fans while one hand was constantly pressed into my side, hidden by the table. Sure, there were a few people who noticed something was off but lying came easier now. I simply told them we had had a bet, Minho telling me I wouldn’t be able to eat an entire cheesecake and I tried to prove him wrong. It was easily believed and often earned a laugh from the person in front of me.
The fansign seemed to drag on endlessly and I didn’t even notice the space getting empty till Chan stood behind me with his hands on my shoulders, telling me we were done. I didn’t even bother removing my makeup. “Hey, do you need anything?”, Changbin appeared next to me. I shook my head, not able to keep up my smile: “Can we just go home?” He agreed and took me to the waiting car, where we waited for the others to join us. My hyung rubbed my back soothingly, as I hunched over in my seat, whimpering. The others soon got into the car, watching me worriedly. I kept squirming in my seat, unable to find a position that would make the pain more bearable. Felix and Changbin were on either side of me, trying to calm me down but I struggled to focus on their voices while the knife in my side kept twisting. When we arrived at the dorm, Changbin carried me to my room, so I could curl up on my bed. He promised he’d be back with a heating pad soon and left me alone. That’s when the urge to throw up returned with full vengeance. Fearing to make a mess, I tried to get up and go to the bathroom or at least get to the trash can but collapsed right next to my bed, crying out in pain.
Alerted by my loud cry, Chan walked in just in time to pull my hair out of my face, while I retched up the tiny amount of food I had forced myself to eat that day. Felix soon appeared behind him, looking terrified. I didn’t even bother assuring him I was fine because if there was something I was not, it was fine. The older Aussie carefully propped me up a bit more, as I retched between my sobs. I was in my own world, screaming from pain, barely realizing how Chan called a driver. Without any warning, I was lifted into the air again and Chan carried me downstairs to the waiting car. Changbin and Felix followed, explaining that they were taking me to the hospital. “Jisung, can you show us exactly where it hurts?”, the leader pleaded and I pressed my hand into my lower right side, unable to reply verbally. Changbin remembered, anxiously playing with his sleeve: “I think it’s his appendix. One of my schoolfriends had appendicitis once and it looks really similar to me.”
I kept crying into Chan’s shoulder while he carried me into the ER. Changbin had rushed in first to sign me in while Felix stayed close to Chan and me. We were immediately guided to an examination room where we were told the doctor would be there shortly. Laying me down on the examination table, Chan and Felix stood on either side of my, holding my hands as I withered in pain. Changbin rushed in after finishing up with the paperwork and all of a sudden, the pain was gone. I loosened my grip on my friends’ hands, blinking in confusion before sitting up. “Wow, I feel fine suddenly”, I hummed uncertainly, “Sorry for making you worry.” The trio looked at me in disbelieve, the leader being the first to find his words: “So you’re telling me one second you’re unable to either move or talk and then by some form of miracle healing nothing’s wrong anymore?” I cringed lightly at the way he put it, averting his eyes when I answered: “I don’t understand it either but can we just go home?”
Right then the doctor came in and I apologized for wasting his time, explaining what symptoms I had had and how we had thought I had appendicitis. I gave him a smile, promising I felt fine now, when I noticed the doctor had paled halfway through our conversation. “Most patients with appendicitis feel relieve when the inflamed organ ruptures and the pressure is gone. I’d like too do a quick check up to see what is really going on there. If it is a ruptured appendix, the pain will come back much more severe and the chances of it leading to a fatal infection without treatment is high”, he explained, easing me back on the table. My friends were shocked by the doctor’s words, Felix chewing on his lip while clutching Chan’s arm. Then came the shocking revelation: “Mr. Han, I am afraid your appendix has ruptured, we will have to perform a surgery on that right away.” Before I even came to terms with what was happening, I was saying goodbye to my friends and got wheeled away on a stretcher.
When I came to, I felt floaty experiencing the aftereffects of the anesthetics. My entire group was there, having piled onto each other in the few seats in the hospital room. “Hey, you’re awake” Seungmin exclaimed, rushing over to give me a hug. Felix walked over too but his face was the exact opposite of Seungmin’s: “Yah! How could you scare us like this? You idiot, I thought you were going to die.” I chuckled awkwardly. I got hugs from everyone, not even Felix was able to stay mad at me. We talked for a while, Chan asking if I needed anything. I replied: “Can we just go home?” Sadly, we couldn’t or at least, I couldn’t. They told me I had to stay for at least a day or two. I’d also have to take antibiotics for a while to heal the infection from the appendix rupture but none of it seemed so bad when my friends brought me my favorite hoodie, plushie and headphones, promising they’d take me out for cheesecake the day I’d be discharged.
So... wrote more of the thing, got distracted by a lot of *just gestures at America*, decided to post what I had anyway. Tentative part one? Have fun~
Sickie: Hoseok Caretakers: Namjoon, Jin (so far)
Content: emeto, fevers, flu-like illness
The nap just felt like a bad idea once Hoseok woke up.
The band had finally concluded their fifth weekend in a row of concerts and they have two weeks before the next one, so some downtime would be absolutely appreciated. But sweaty, tired, with their ears still buzzing from the cheers and bones still jittery from caffeine and exhaustion, they needed to just get changed so they could make it back to the hotel for a good night's rest.
Eat, shower, sleep. It was their usual pattern, and one Hoseok had been completely used to. But for some reason he felt like he'd gone overboard today, and his entire body regretted it. After the concert, after the encore, after the staff made their way around the boys collecting sound equipment and disconnecting them from their mic monitors and congratulating each other on jobs well done--ARMY had loved the finale, Hoseok was just so glad it all went well--Hoseok had just gone to the green room and flopped on the couch. After a deep sigh, letting, and a mumble of thanks when he felt one of the noonas fanning him with one of their ARMY face-fans, he'd shut his eyes and... actually had fallen asleep, the adrenaline draining from his body at an alarming rate.
"Hobi-ah! Hobi-ah! You didn't even get up! Come on, it's time to go."
The fan was gone, and the noona who had been there, but an uncomfortable chill had taken over its place as Hoseok squinted his eyes open. The sweat felt caked on his face, like crust gathering at his eyes. His limbs felt like lead, and it took him a few moments to register the voice. Honestly, he couldn't place the light trill until he saw Jimin appear before him, the younger singer's hand finding his shoulder.
"Come on, hero. Sejin-nim found us a ramen restaurant."
Hobi groaned. Food, while advisable and very necessary, just felt like an uncomfortable afterthought. He wasn't in the mood to eat, much less get up, but given the temperature drop in the room he kind of wished he had grabbed his hoodie.
"Jimin, have you seen my jacket?" was what Hoseok attempted to say. It came out more along the lines of, 'Jimiiii, m' jacket?' But Jimin's expression seemed clouded as he looked at him.
"You're cold? But it's so warm here..."
Hoseok nodded. He finally pushed himself to sit up, but the effort it took had him leaning forward to drop his head against Jimin's arm, his back protesting. He just felt so sore. Did he overdo it at the concert?
"Hobi... You're kinda warm."
"Mm... no, cold."
Hoseok really needed to wake up more. He normally felt tired after concerts, but this just felt painfully excessive. He lifted his head, looking towards the floor when he spotted a fresh water bottle. Perfect. Taking the water bottle, he opened it and just drank a solid third. It was lukewarm, which wasn't the tastiest, but it felt needed, refreshing. Maybe he was just a little dehydrated, some food and good sleep would help.
"Hobi... are you feeling okay?"
"Just tired, Jiminie... Just really, really tired."
---
The mere idea of dinner didn't seem to sit well with Hoseok either. He hadn't even realized he had fallen asleep until he felt Jin shaking his shoulder gently. He blearily opened his eyes to find Jin leaning over him, a smile growing on his hyung's face once they made eye contact.
"Come on, Hobi, dinner!" Jin cheered lightly.
With just a grown, Hoseok shut his eyes again. He really didn't want to get up. His head and his limbs felt like led, and his stomach just felt uncomfortable. But Jin's strong arms tugged at him until he budged from his seat, and he had no choice but to get up and follow along. Once out of the car, Jin paused to look at him for a moment, his grin faltering.
"You look... I don't know. Are you okay?"
"I think I just went harder during the concert than I usually do," Hoseok mumbled. He leaned over, his head dropping on Jin's shoulder. Jin promptly wrapped an arm around his side, hugging him close to him. It was comforting, warm in a way Jin always was, firm and supportive and kind. Hoseok smiled, eyes blinking heavily. "Hyung, don't let me go, I might fall asleep here."
That brought a soft, hiccupy laugh out of Jin. "Aaahhh Hobiiii, don't fall asleep standing! At least get some soup!"
Jin didn't let them dawdle longer in the cold air and he walked Hoseok inside. Limbs barely dragging along, Hoseok followed Jin to their private back room where the remainder of the band had already been seated. The room was cold, and Hoseok could feel a chill the moment he slid into his chair. He could already feel Jin's eyes focused back on him--his eldest hyung, always so observant over the smallest of things--but he pointedly stared towards the menu and attempted to focus on it.
That was until he felt two hands grip his beanie, but the hands merely pulled the hat further down to cover his ears. That.. made a lot more sense, honestly. It was warmer, having the beanie pressed snugly onto his neck, but the light material against his ears muffled the noise of the restaurant. When Hoseok looked up, he caught Jin's light smile before the older man turned to his own menu.
"It's kinda chilly in here," came Jin's only explanation.
Hoseok couldn't fight the small smile off his own face as he returned his eyes downward. He honestly was not hungry, which wasn't too surprising for him. After concerts, Hoseok usually felt rather peckish but never outright starving. A bowl of ramen or a salad could hold him over until breakfast, when he was prepared to eat everything under the sun. With a small yawn, he took a sip of the water provided and tried to tune into the conversation happening.
It was another animated night of Jungkook and Taehyung reenacting something goofy that had occurred during the concert when they were allowed to just let loose and have fun. Today's silly song had been Love Maze, which had ended up with an impromptu dance move between Jungkook, Hoseok and Jin, and Hoseok smiled down at his menu as he recalled the memory. The concert had honestly been a ton of fun, and ARMY had loved it. It had just taken too much out of him. Had he gone overboard? He couldn't even remember, but he didn't regret it regardless. He heard his name passed around, and an arm wrapped around his shoulders. Hoseok didn't waste time leaning into the embrace, humming softly at the sudden warmth... Jimin, he was pleased to see.
"Rest on me, hyung, I'll nudge you when the waiters come," Jimin spoke softly.
Hobi nodded, and as much as he wanted to just rest his eyes, he couldn't help but fall asleep on his roommate's shoulder.
---
"I think he has a fever," Jin said softly over his dinner.
Jimin had moved Hoseok from laying on his shoulder to resting his head against his thigh, and Hoseok's mouth had fallen open a bit from the change. His breathing was raspy, and as Jimin placed a hand on his cheek, he frowned as he nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, I think so too," Jimin answered. "He probably pushed himself too hard at the concert, he seemed completely exhausted when it was done."
"I was wondering about that," Namjoon chimed in as he sipped a beer. He fiddled with the plastic bag of Hoseok's to-go order of ramen--they just ordered it to-go when they first picked their meals, no one wanting to wake the dancer. It was late, and it wasn't completely uncommon for them to be too exhausted to eat, but it was a rare occurrence to see their leading dancer and team sunshine so drained. Being sick just made more sense. "Hoseok's usually still fussing over everyone after a concert, I was downright concerned when I caught him sleeping."
"Hopefully it just passes by tonight," Jin mumbled. "It could just be overheating. We worked hard during the concert."
The others nodded in agreement. Namjoon couldn't help but reach a hand to Hoseok's cheek and press his fingers against soft skin. Maybe it was just temporary, he had to tell himself; but the heat radiating against him worried him nonetheless. "I'll stop by a drugstore on the way back just in case. I don't think we've got anything in the hotel, do we?"
Jimin and Jungkook both shook their heads. Usually at least one of them had extra painkillers or various cold or throat lozenges, but he imagines they left everything in the hands of the staff. The energy seemed to dwindle after that; they were all tired, but having their J-Hope asleep and as cause for concern, they didn't seem to be as in the mood anymore. They quickly finished, and as Yoongi took care of the payments, Namjoon and Jimin tasked themselves with waking the poor young man.
"Hobi, c'mon, we're going back," Jimin tried to coax. For the first minute, Hoseok didn't respond at all, but it wasn't until Namjoon's hand tugged on his arm that he groaned, something small and pitiful.
"Hobi, c'mon." Namjoon tugged his arm again, and Hoseok tried to pull away as he blinked open his eyes.
Wait... He glanced over, taking in the decor of their booth in the shop, to Namjoon's face, brows scrunched in worry and lips pointed downward, and it dawned on him that he was still in the ramen shop. Namjoon was just relieved to see realization slowly coming back to him, as Jimin's hands found his shoulders and helped him upright.
"Come on, let's go to bed," Jimin murmured. "We're tired."
We. Collectively. Less room for Jung Hoseok to argue, and Jimin knew it. If he were to point out that Hoseok was tired, he probably would have gotten an argumentative response, something along the lines of being able to finish the night if they had more tasks, or wanted to explore. But we meant it continued more than just him, went to names he wasn't even familiar with and asked for 'rest'. We tonight meant the entire band. And honestly, it wasn't a complete exacerbation--he himself was feeling drained, and he could see exhaustion drooping on all of his hyungs. How Jungkook and Taehyung were still going strong was beyond him.
"Back to the hotel?" Hoseok asked, voice small and shaky. He just stared owlishly between Namjoon and Jimin, as if trying to discover some forbidden secret.
"That's right, Hobi," Namjoon answered. "Come on, back to the hotel."
The next morning, Hoseok just felt worse. That Monday was their first day off, and usually the staff let them partner or split up and explore the city. They didn't get a lot of opportunities during the weekends of the concert, but the next two days, if not spent in the rooms, were often spent shopping and seeing fun sights. Hoseok remembered vaguely telling Taehyung he'd go with him to the aquarium last night, he thinks (did he imagine it?), and he remembered something about a really neat store downtown, but the rest seemed vague and disjointed. Did he really agree to go out today? With limbs that didn't seem to move on their own anymore? This was difficult...
His head felt completely stuffed with cotton, heavy and plugged up like no other. His nose was stuffy, sinuses enflamed and swollen--and it came with not only a dull headache but an uncomfortable fog that seemed to just cloud his thoughts. His ears didn't feel like they worked right. Really, none of him felt right. Not completely focused, all he could think were two words upon waking: 'So tired'. He could barely breathe, and after two very uncomfortable, forced sniffs, he merely opened his mouth to take in more air.
Hoseok's phone buzzed next to him. Then twice, three times.
Groaning, he stretched a hand out to find where it had moved to last night, limb moving lazily across the comforter. Honestly, Hoseok doesn't think he charged it at all, but it definitely came from somewhere around the bed. However, after a few minutes of futile searching, he merely gave up and allowed the uncomfortable haze to take him under.
The brief nap didn't seem to last long at all. There was some sharp knocking, and someone's deep voice calling his name, rather cautiously. A minute or so later, he heard the lock click and the door slid open.
"Hobi, you alive yet?"
Ah, Namjoon. Hoseok forgot he'd given him the extra room key.
Hoseok groaned, turning to the side. His mouth felt dry, and his limbs were heavy. He didn't want to get up yet, that felt like too much energy. And for someone who could run nearly nonstop on one Americano? That was saying something.
"Hobi? You're still not feeling great, Hoseok?"
With an incoherent grumble, Hoseok nodded. He hadn't even opened his eyes, didn't want to risk upsetting his head even further. There was a thick, consistent pounding that he immediately wanted to sleep off. He heard Namjoon's steps approach and stop, and soon long fingers had begun carding through his fringe. Then Namjoon's cool hand pressed against his forehead, and Hoseok shivered--why was he so cold?
"You're still warm... guess you didn't sleep it off like we hoped," Namjoon murmured.
Sleep it off? Hoseok had to take a moment to try and recall what made him feel so lousy in the first place. He remembered falling asleep at dinner, but even returning to his room seemed hazy. Brows furrowed, Hoseok merely looked at Namjoon, eyes squinted, as if trying to search for the answers. He wasn't sure what happened--hell, he wasn't even sure if Namjoon knew. But the look on their leader's face, that heavy-set frown and pensive eyes, Namjoon certainly must have figured it out.
"We should have had you take some medicine last night." His hand raked through Hoseok's sweaty bangs, pushing them from his forehead. His touch was gentle and cautious, and his simple motions lulled Hoseok into closing his eyes, nearly dozing again. He could just figure it out later, really... This felt nice.
"Ah--" Namjoon's hand froze. How long had it been? "Hobi, wake up!"
"Mm?" Hoseok grunted in response, but didn't move from his spot. Namjoon's hand moved away, the younger boy scooting back a little. With a frown, Hoseok moved a hand over to grab Namjoon's wrist. His grip was clammy and warm, not strong at all, but he didn't meet any resistance. Hoseok dragged Namjoon's hand closer, ignoring as Namjoon's fingers whacked his sore nose, resting only when he dropped the hand right atop his head.
'Keep going,' The message was clear. 'Don't stop, it feels nice.' Being sick made sense. It honestly explained everything: the headache, the clamminess, the chills. Even exhaustion--a concert wouldn't take this much out of him, would it?
With the chuckle from Namjoon, but those familiar fingers soon find themselves pressing into his hair again, and Hoseok decides he doesn't care. He lets himself succumb to sleep once more.
---
That was unexpected. Hoseok relaxed far too fast under Namjoon's hand, and only seconds seemed to pass before he could hear soft, congested snoring from the older '94-liner. That was worrisome, especially since Hoseok didn't seem to have a problem yesterday. Did this all come along after the concert? Or had he been hiding it? It took Namjoon a moment as he tried to recall the details of the day, but with last-minute arrangements, costume changing, makeup, stage rehearsal... There was no way to tell.
Worried, he moved his hand to Hoseok's shoulder and shook, concerned Hoseok may have actually passed out in weakness. Hoseok grimaced at the shaking, trying to tuck himself further into his blanket. Okay... so he just fell asleep. Namjoon sighed, and with another ruffle of Hoseok's hair, he pulled out his own phone and immediately scrolled through the contacts to their beloved eldest hyung. He didn't even bother with text and pressed the 'dial' button immediately.
Seokjin didn't take long to answer at all. "Joon-ah, my friend! Where are you? You're missing breakfast, I'm going to eat your share if you don't come for it!"
That got a soft snort out of Namjoon. "There's a reason. Do you have the medicine in your room? I think Hobi's sick, he hasn't gotten out of bed."
The joking tone to Seokjin's voice dropped immediately. "I was afraid of that... Does he have a fever? Is he coughing?"
"He feels like he has a fever," Namjoon answered. "Haven't heard any coughing or sneezing, but he went right back to sleep really quickly."
Seokjin sighed. "Hopefully it's not too bad yet... Hang on, I'm gonna finish up here and grab the bag in the room. Just keep an eye on him until I get there."
"Alright, hyung, I'll be here."
As they disconnected, Namjoon sighed and opened up the group chat, then closed it. No use worrying the others yet. Instead, he switched to the chat with their manager, sending a quick message about his teammate's condition. The near-immediate response he received offered help if they needed it, and just said to keep him updated. Namjoon sent a thumbs-up response before drawing over the chair from the hotel's desk, dropping into it.
Leave it to Hoseok to save getting sick for after the concert. At least it was convenient timing.
"You need to tell us when you don't feel well, you silly," he mumbled, though a fond smile fell as he reached over to pet Hoseok's hair. With his free hand, he just opened up the internet and mindlessly checked his emails.
Thankfully, the wait wasn't long at all. Fifteen minutes later, and Namjoon let in a worried Seokjin who had a bag from the hotel's convenient store, a cup of something hot, and a small RJ pouch from his room. Namjoon picked up the pouch.
"Seriously, how much RJ stuff do you own, hyung?"
"Aish, Joonie, don't worry about how much RJ stuff I own!" Jin bickered playfully as he pulled items out of the bag. Fever patches, cough syrup, pepto, a bottled sprite, a few tea bags from downstairs, and even some cracker packages. Namjoon peeked into the RJ bag to find throat lozenges, painkillers, bandaids... even a small thermometer.
"The thermometer is from Sejin-nim," said Jin, and he held his hand out.
Namjoon handed it to him. The last minute inventory was a pretty good set. "Guess... let's wake him up again and see what he's feeling."
Jin nodded. He kneeled next to the bed and gently shook the dancer. He moved the blanket back, and sighed at the forlorn look the younger one gave him.
"Seokkie-ah! Come on sunshine, wake up for a little bit."
Jin?
Hoseok hummed in confusion as he attempted to turn himself onto his back. His blanket felt positively stifling now, and he was getting sweaty. He grimaced, honestly feeling uncomfortably warm as he tried to push it away. Jin helped by pulling it down to his waist, but soon that large hand pressed against his forehead again.
"You're not kidding. He's roasting. Seok-ah, how are you feeling?"
Hoseok's eyes opened, but he grimaced and shut them again. Everything seemed to spin the moment he tried to look, and it turned his stomach immediately. He curled in on his side, bringing a hand to his head.
"Bad headache?" Jin asked softly.
"Mmhmm..."
"Feeling anything else? Sore throat, upset stomach? Give us something to work with."
"But... day off," Hoseok croaked. His voice sounded hoarse, and he looked completely drained. "No working."
Namjoon snorted. "You got jokes on your sickbed. Can't be that bad."
With a smile that soon turned into a grimace, Hoseok shook his head.
...then promptly leaned over the bed and vomited. Jin barely moved back in time, but didn't manage to avoid side splatter on his shoes. Namjoon was quick with grabbing the wastebin from the desk and moving it under Hoseok's face, grimacing as the dancer gagged up another hot mouthful of sick. Jin moved to the side of the bed, rubbing Hoseok's back.
"There, just get it out..."
And get it out he did. Hoseok barely had time to take a breath in before he heaved forward again, choking out mouthfuls of thick, clustered vomit. Jin held him up by his shoulders when he noticed Hoseok's arm shaking under his own weight holding him up, and he continued to mumble reassurances until he began to slow down.
"Deep breath in, Seokkie," Jin coaxed, pulling Hoseok back from the basket. "You're done. You can't have that much more in you."
Hoseok frowned. "I--" Hoseok grimaced, voice raw. He took a moment before trying again. "I got it on you, Jinnie?"
"No, I'm fine." Jin stroked his hair. "C'mon, rinse your mouth out and then you can lie down again."
Namjoon already had a water bottle open, and Jin took it from him to help Hoseok take a sip. After swishing it around, Hoseok spit it out in the trash bin before collapsing onto the pillow behind him. Grimacing, Namjoon carried the bin to the bathroom and grabbed a towel and the bathroom's bin. He placed the towel on the mess, siently apologizing to the cleaning staff, and attempted to clean it up a little. Bile was gross, especially when it had an especially sick smell to it, but it wasn't the worst he's dealt with. He didn't get sick sympathetically--honestly, it was a small blessing, given how often colds and bugs passed around them. He'd grabbed a washcloth, and secretly handed that to Jin. Jin flashed him a grateful smile and began to wipe his shoes off.
"Well, that made for an eventful morning. Hoseok-ah, I guess in a little while, you should try some tea and then medicine. It's going to hurt your stomach more taking it while empty."
Groaning, Hoseok reached for the blanket and pulled it back to his chest. He just felt chilled to the bone now. He just wanted to sleep, see if perhaps it would go away on its own. He didn't realize he had been mumbling it aloud until he felt Jin's hand comb through his hair and his hyung sighed.
"Seokkie, that's not going to help at all. Come on, just a few sips."
"Nooo..." But it sounded small and pathetic. And Jin wasn't going to have any of it. Without much prompting, Jin's hands wrapped around his shoulders and guided him up, moving him to lay against his shoulder. But before being handed anything, Hoseok could feel something cool tapping his lips.
"Open up, put this under your tongue."
That didn't require much. Hoseok obliged, eyes closed, leaving it for Jin and Namjoon to handle on their own. Namjoon though, had frozen in his clothing, as he caught sight of the numbers climbing up. And up. 38... 38.5... 38.9... 39...
"Aish, Hoseokkie..."
It finally beeped, blinking on 39.3 C.
"It's this high already?" Jin pulled it from Hoseok's lips. "Joonie, grab one of those compresses for him. Hobi..."
Jin moved, and Hoseok grimaced again--Jin had leaned over, and his sense of balance shifted with him. He righted himself, and Hoseok, and lifted the mug to his lips. "Here, drink."
With a soft whimper, Hoseok carefully took sips of the tea. The warmth came with a strangely comforting feeling, soothing on his throat and actually settling against his empty stomach. It was weird, but he had to appreciate it. It wasn't long before he could feel the cool gel sensation against his forehead as he felt Namjoon smoothing a patch against his forehead. It was chilled and uncomfortable, but as he shivered, he could feel Namjoon setting another one on at the nape of his neck.
"Aigooooo," he whines.
Jin just laughs and strokes his hair. "You're really sick, Seokkie. These should help."
But before Hoseok could get comfortable, Jin jolted him again. "Try to take a pill before you fall asleep."
There was a whine of apprehension that surprised even Hoseok, and he looked up at Jin with unsure, squinted eyes. Namjoon had turned off the light again, leaving just a bit of light from the hotel windows. That definitely helped with the headache, but Hoseok wasn't sure if he was ready to try a pill.
"Try? Try for Hyungie?"
There was another whine, but Hoseok held a shaky hand out, curled fingers trying to uncurl. He'd try, at least once. Namjoon was quick to pop a cold and flu tablet from the packaging and place in his hand, and Jin placed a water bottle to his lips. Hoseok made quick work of swallowing the pill, before laying down. He made a beckoning hand again.
"Eh? But you took it, Hobi-ah, you're okay."
Hoseok's fingers clashed again. Namjoon laughed, but Hoseok was too exhausted to gripe about it.
"He wants you to give him your hand," Namjoon translated the gesture.
"OH. Oh, okay." Jin placed his hand in Hoseok's, and Hoseok moved the hand to the top of his head. An unspoken request--pet my hair please. Namjoon chuckled, but he wasted no time in running his fingers along Hoseok's scalp, lulling the dancer back to sleep.
Unfortunately, dozing only lasted a few seconds before his stomach flipped, and Hoseok's eyes widened. He didn't want to throw up again, not on the floor at least... As he attempted to sit up, he swayed the opposite way and found himself suddenly braced in someone's steady arms. The wastebin was handed to him, and he tilted his head down, a mouthful of bile and the little water he drank escaping into it already. Gasping, he pressed a hand over his stomach as a painful cramp waved through him, bringing with it another mouthful. Hoseok gagged and coughed out another long stream, of leftover food from somewhere deep within him and stomach acid. It honestly hurt his throat, and he could feel his eyes stinging with tears from the pain.
Jin's arms just held Hoseok tightly as his body convulsed, a nearly gutteral sound escaping as he retched. There really wasn't anything left in him, and yet his body felt like it needed to purge out whatever viral affliction was plaguing him.
From Namjoon: "Hobi, take a breath!"
Hoseok retched again, then opened his mouth and tried to just take a breath in. It came in as a strangled gasp, mouth open as spit drained from his lips. Another attempt and he managed to settle the urge to vomit again, at least. Namjoon borught the water bottle back to his lips.
"Here, rinse."
Ah... Hoseok followed the instructions easily, letting Namjoon hold the bottle as he brought it to his mouth and swished the liquit about, before spitting it in the can. Namjoon moved the trash can to the floor and ran a hand through Hoseok's sweat-damp hair as Hoseok slumped against Jin.
"It's okay, you stopped," he said softly. "So... I guess that was too much."
Hoseok whimpers. "I'unna lie down..."
Jin laughed but helped ease him to the pillow, draping the covers over his shoulders. He lay on his side, grimacing as another cramp rippled through his stomach.
Jin rubbed his shoulder softly. "Try to rest while you can, okay? We're staying here with you."
"Mm... okay. Don't leave." And with that, Hoseok let sleep overtake him once again.
Jin frowned as he looked up at Namjoon again. What were they going to do now?
Poorly Pearl (Part 2)
"Anything for you, sweetheart." You say, smiling.
"Aren't you going to eat anything?" Henry asks, "I don't want to eat if you've got nothing."
You smile, seeing that even while he's sick, he's still selfless. You stand up and walk back into the kitchen, you grab the wheat bread and make a ham sandwich, which you pair with a bag of chips. You place the sandwich and the chips of a plate, balance the plate on your hand and head back to the guest room. As you thought, Henry hadn't eaten anything. He was waiting, to be sure you had something as well. You again sit on the edge of the bed, biting into a chip.
"Come on, eat up." You say, "You don't want it to get cold."
Henry finally picked up the spoon and began sipping the soup. You eat your sandwich and chips, while keeping a watchful eye on Pearl. Henry fell asleep immediately after he finished eating. You carefully grab the tray and head back towards the kitchen.
Chapter Seven
You spent the rest of the day in the guest bedroom. Sitting on the floor, leaning against the bedframe and reading a book. You wanted to be close to Henry, in case he needed anything and because he didn't like to be on his own while he's sick. It was about 7pm, when Henry awoke.
"Evening, sleepyhead." You say, looking up from your book.
"What time is it?" Henry ask, yawning.
"Around 7 pm." You answer.
You see Henry's expression change to worry.
"Is something wrong, sweetheart?" You ask.
"It's just that I promised Arthur that I'd help him repair a car." Henry explains.
"Well, there is no way you can work in this condition." You say, "I can drive over and tell Arthur you can't make it."
"Can I come with you?" Henry asks, "I...I don't want to be on my own."
You smile, "Yes, you can come. But you'll have to stay in the car."
You help Henry to stand up and lead him towards the front door, you grab a blanket from the living room as you go. You open the front door and guide Henry out to your car, you open the passenger side of your car and help him to sit down.
You then wrap the blanket around him, "The last thing we need is you getting worse, so keep the blanket on."
"Thanks, Y/N." Henry says, smiling.
You walk around to the other side of your car and enter the driver's seat. You start the car and then drive towards the Gas Station. You park your car beside one of the gas pumps.
You turn to Henry, "Stay here, I'll be back in a minute."
You exit you car, being sure to lock it. You then walk into the gas station, finding Arthur fixing a car.
"Hello, Y/N." Arthur greets, "I didn't expect to see you here. Is everything ok?"
"Everything is fine." You answer, "I just came here to tell you that Henry can't work tonight."
"Why not? Is everything alright with him?" Arthur asks, concerned.
"He's not feeling well," You answer, "He has probably got the flu."
"The poor boy." Arthur says, "Is there anything I can do to help?"
You shake you head, "I've got everything under control, don't worry."
"You're a saint, Y/N." Arthur says, "I don't know why you're not a nurse."
You smile, "You flatter me, Arthur. Now I better get back, Henry's waiting for me."
"Is he in your car?" Arthur asks.
You nod, "Do you want to say hello? I'm sure it would cheer him up."
"Of course." Arthur says, following you as you exit the gas station.
Chapter Eight
You walk around to the passenger side of your car. Henry is once again half asleep, leaning his head on the open windowsill.
"Henry." You whisper, waking the sleepy boy. "Someone is here to speak with you."
Henry looks up, revealing his bright red cheeks and hazy eyes.
Arthur walls to your side, "Evening, Henry."
"Hello, Arthur." Henry says, "Sorry I couldn't come to work tonight."
"Oh, don't apologise, Henry." Arthur assures, "You're clearly not well. Even if you came to work, I would let you work in this condition."
Henry smiles weakly, before turning away and sneezing into his elbow.
"I better get going." You say, turning to Arthur. "I'm planning on getting something from the diner before I go home."
"Well, hope you feel better soon, Henry." Arthur says, walking back towards the gas station, "See you around, Y/N."
You wave goodbye to Arthur, before entering the driver's seat. You turn on the engine and drive towards the diner.
"Are we going to the diner?" Henry asks.
You nod, "I'm going to grab some dinner, do you want you want your usual meal?"
"Yes, please." Henry answers, "Wait, I don't have any money."
"No, I'm paying." You say, "Don't worry."
"Are you sure?" Henry asks.
"Of course I'm sure." You answer, "Don't worry about it."
You park your car outside the diner, you exit your car and walk into the diner.
"Evening Y/N." Melinda's cheery voice calls.
"Evening Melinda," You answer, grabbing your purse from your pocket.
"What do ya want, hun?" Melinda asks, standing in front of you.
"Can I have a grilled cheese sandwich," you answer, "Two eggs, sunny side up and a side of pancakes. An orange juice and a pure black coffee. All to go, please."
"Right away, hun." Melinda says, heading into the back kitchen.
You take a seat on one of the stool that line the counter.
Melinda appears a few minutes later, "It should be ready soon, hun."
You smile, glancing out at your car.
"You ordering for someone else, hun?" Melinda asks, "That order seemed familiar."
"I'm ordering for Henry as well." You answer, "He's out in my car, waiting for me."
"Well, why don't you invite him in?" Melinda suggests, "Henry's always welcome in here."
You shake your head, "He's not very well. And I don't think he'd want to be around people, fearing he might get you sick too."
"Oh, that doesn't matter." Melinda assures, "Look, there is no one else here, let him in."
You think for a moment, before standing up and heading out to your car. It might be better to Henry to be inside, not outside in his own. Henry was again half asleep, his cheeks still a bright red.
"Henry." You say, placing your hand on his shoulder, "Melinda has invited you inside, come on."
Henry looks up, "But is don't want to get Melinda sick."
"She has insisted, Henry." You say, "Come on, it'll be better for you to be with me, then put her on your own."
Chapter Nine
You help Henry out of the car and guide him towards the diner. Melinda appears at the entrance and opens the door your you and Henry.
"Come on in, sickie." Melinda says, jokingly.
Henry smiles, "Evening, Melinda."
"Take a seat, hun." Melinda says, "You're food should be ready soon."
Henry sits on his usual place, you taking a seat next to him. The blanket that is wrapped around him is beginning to slip down. You grab the rim of the blanket and gently drape it over Henry's shoulders.
"You're very lucky to be cared for by Y/N." Melinda says, "Everyone knows she's the best caretaker in Battecreek."
"People keep saying that." You say.
"That's because it's true." Henry says, glancing over at you.
You smile, feeling your cheeks blush. Although everyone else has been telling you that you're a great caretaker, hearing it from Henry means more to you. Melinda appears in front of you and Henry, holding two polystyrene containers, as well as two take away cups.
"Here are your meals." Melinda says, "And drinks."
"Thanks, Melinda." You say, taking out the money from your purse.
"You don't need to pay." Melinda says, "See the meals as a thank you gift to you, and a get well soon present for Henry."
"Are you sure, Melinda?" You ask, "I don't mind paying."
"Yes, I'm certain." Melinda answers, smiling kindly.
You look back at Henry, who had his head in his hands.
"Henry, what's wrong?" You ask, placing your hand on his shoulder.
"I think I'm getting a headache." Henry answers, rubbing his forehead.
"Come on, then." You say, standing up, "Let's get you home."
You help Henry to his feet, having to use both hands to prop him up.
"Y/N..." Henry mutters, "I...I feel dizzy."
Henry begins to lose balance, he starts falling into you.
"Melinda!" You call, "A little help here, please!"
Melinda rushed to your side, and the two of you guide Henry to the nearest chair.
"I'll grab you some water, hun." Melinda says, rushing off.
You kneel in front of Henry, "You alright, sweetheart?"
"I'm fine now." Henry answers, "I just felt a little bit dizzy."
Melinda returns with a glass of water. She hands it to Henry, who gladly takes it and sips the icy contents. You reach up and place you hand on Henry's forehead, checking his fever.
"You're fever has risen." You say, "We need to get you home."
"I'll put your meals into your car." Melinda says, "So you can focus on Henry."
"You're a saint, Melinda." You say, "Thank you."
It took a little bit of work, but you eventually got Henry back into your car. You wrapped the blanket tightly around him, before entering the drivers seat. Melinda hands you a plastic bag, which contained you and Henry's meals.
"Hope you feel better soon, hun." Melinda says, looking over at Henry.
Henry smiles at Melinda, before she walks back into the diner. You turn on the engine and start the drive back to your house. By the time you arrived home, Henry had fallen asleep. You feel bad waking him, but you know you can't let him sleep in the car. You exit the car and walk around to the passenger side. You open the door, before kneeling down and wrapping Henry's arm around your shoulder. You place your hand on the side of his stomach, before slowing lifting him into a standing position. You see Henry's eyes open, but he wasn't fully awake.
"What's happening?" Henry mumbled, sleepily.
"I'm taking you to bed sweetheart." You say, "You fell asleep in the car and I felt bad waking you, so I decided to try and guide you into the house, while you were still sleeping."
"You sh...should have j...just woken me." Henry slurs, clearly drained.
You continue guiding Henry back into your house. You open your front door, being careful not to let Henry fall. You leave the light off, as you lead Henry towards the guest bedroom. Once you enter the guest bedroom, you suddenly feel Henry's entire weight fall onto you. Your knees almost gave way under the sudden weight.
"Henry?" You ask, "What's wrong?"
"Sorry." Henry mutters, "I...I'm struggling to stay standing."
You quickly move Henry over to the bed, helping him lie down into the tower of pillows. You kneel down and grab the medical bag from under the bed. You unpackage another fever patch, before gently placing it on Henry's forehead.
"You're an angel, Y/N." Henry mutters, "Thank you for taking care of me."
"As I've told you, I'll do anything to help you." You say, "Now get some sleep, sweetheart. Hopefully you'll feel better in the morning."
Henry was fast asleep almost instantly. You decide you're going to sleep in the guest room as well, just to keep an eye on Henry. You exit the room and quickly grab a large blanket and several pillows. You arrange the pillows beside the guest bed, before lying down and falling asleep. You sleep for a long while, being surprisingly comfortable on the floor.
Chapter Ten
You're suddenly awoken by something hitting your face. You sit up, yawing and rubbing your eyes.
"Oh, I'm so sorry." Henry says, looking down at you, "I didn't mean to wake you."
You grab whatever hit you and when your tired eyes focus, you see that is is a paintbrush. You then look up at Henry, who had specks of paint all over his cheeks.
"You look like you're feeling better." You say, sitting up.
"Yeah, I'm feeling much better." Henry answers, "Thanks for everything, Y/N."
You suddenly notice a polystyrene container on the bed, it was open and completely empty.
"I see you enjoyed your meal." You say, pointing to the container.
Henry turns away for a quick second, and when he turned back to face you, he was holding the other polystyrene container.
"Here's yours, Y/N," Henry says, opening the container and handing it to you.
You gladly take the container and begin eating your cold grilled cheese sandwich.
Sicktember Day 6: Dizziness/Vertigo
Fandom: BTS
Sickie: J-Hope/Hoseok (exhaustion)
Caregiver(s): Suga/Yoongi
Word Count: 517
The concert was going well. The crowd’s energy was electric. The lights, the dancing, the vocals, the warm evening breeze; everything was perfect.
But suddenly, everything was too much.
One moment, J-Hope was having the time of his life on stage with Suga and RM. The minute they stepped off stage, though, Hoseok came crashing back into his body, and he felt off. Woozy. Shaky. Almost as if he were drunk. The world was pitching dangerously from side to side, as if they were on a ship in the middle of a storm. The lights were too bright one second, nearly gone the next. He could hear his own heart beating madly in his ears.
Too much. Too much.
Hoseok stumbled off to a corner of the backstage, a step into the hallway that led to the dressing rooms. He collapsed against the wall, all but crumbling to the floor. He forced deep breaths in and out, in and out. The world kept tilting. Why is this happening? Even with his eyes closed, he felt so fiercely dizzy. What did I do wrong? Why am I…? Where am I…?
Two hands, sweaty and warm, cupped his equally sweaty face. Yoongi. “What’s wrong?” It wasn’t really a question, but an instruction.
“Dizzy,” Hoseok replied, keeping his focus on breathing in and out, in and out. One of Yoongi’s hands moved to Hoseok’s forehead and the dancer forced a laugh. “We just got off stage… You’re not gonna…”
“You’re right, I can’t feel a fever, but you are significantly more flushed than usual right now,” Yoongi replied, but he did pull both of his hands away. Hoseok blindly reached his own hands towards the older man, more of an opening of his palms than anything, and Yoongi grasped them tight. “You’re also frighteningly pale.” Hoseok nodded once. He wasn’t confident that opening his eyes would do either of them any good. “How long have you…?”
“Just started when we got off stage.”
“Hopefully just exhaustion then.” Hoseok nodded again. “Overstimulation. Maybe dehydration.”
“Probably.” The dancer squeezed Yoongi’s hands, and the older man felt his own chest constrict in sympathy. “Hyung, I feel so weird.”
Yoongi bit his lip. “I’m gonna go get some help, okay?”
Hoseok’s eyes opened in a flash. “Please don’t leave!” Even sitting against the ground, the dizziness was overwhelming, and he careened forward. Thankfully, Yoongi was waiting to catch him.
“HELP!” Yoongi called towards the backstage area. “SOMEONE HELP, PLEASE!”
Hoseok’s eyes remained firmly shut as a swarm of movement exploded around him. He felt almost separate from his body, as if the sensations around him were happening to someone else. His body was moved, laid on its back against the cool, hard floor. Hands proded at him, pulled at his clothes, ice pushed against his neck. Namjoon’s voice weaved in and out, Jin’s voice herding Jimin and Jungkook away.
The only real, true thing that anchored Hoseok to this moment was Yoongi’s hand in his. Yoongi never let go. Not once. And, as long as Hoseok kept asking him to, he never would.
