Also don’t come for me with “Oh why are you headcanoning most of the krogan as black they’re aggressive that’s stereotyping” which like in the game all krogans are stereotyped as aggressive but you have those who aren’t like Kesh but she’s treated as such by Tann and others just because she’s Krogan even though she’s a scientist who wants to use her brains, Eve who’s physically restrained even when she’s the one in danger all because of the stereotype of all Krogan being violent when she prefers to use her brains and even criticizes other Krogan for their old archaic ways of thinking with violence, like they’re treated how black women are treated all day every day 24/7 365. I’ll headcanon them as black if I want to.

If you want to know why I claim most of these characters as black feel free to ask but so far this is my list. Also I might do a thing where I draw a human design for the characters I think are black.

my millie+leap friendship thoughts except it's actually mostly about millie. i tried to make this readable (coherency-wise)... and it's not even everything i have in my head about them. just a few words:

I looove Millie+Leap friendship (in my head it's Millie'n'Leap like one word. It's fun to say) I think they are besties.

I also think that „Leap has my back as long as it's convenient for him.“ sure is A belief to have about your best friend!!! & I really like that!! (We are not even talking about LEAP’S Millie beliefs. Those are only like, borderline positive or negative. And I also like that. He’s kind of a bitch. This isn't about him though honestly mostly Millie & though I THINK I could write more, it would be wayyyy extrapolating than even this.) I mean like, those beliefs aren't/don't have to be the whole descriptor of/the characters whole relationship, but they are there for a reason! So. I’m simply thinking about it and turning it around in my head.

And it’s just good Millie characterization too for me (also for Leap, as the other person in this relationship, but I simply have thought about Millie more on account of She's My Favourite & can speak better to how I interpret this from her perspective). It's the first close friendship she's made after being on the run from everything she's ever known (which sucked. GLORY was bad but she did also have friends & people she cared about then... See Si’dra) & then she gets captured and forced to do the same shit AGAIN? Under someone like Clementine Kesh? This is a bonding experience. It's a bad one but it is nontheless. And they have similiar goals too (get the fuck out of there).

(An aside, but I really loved during the Post Mortem when Austin talked about something he’d do differently if he had the chance: asking the prisoner-PCs to get drives that weren’t about them escaping, and rather something where escaping would be a step towards that other drive. And how both Keith and Sylvi talked about the Being a prisoner and wanting to get out being very important to Leap and Millie’s characterization to the point they would’ve been played completely differently if that wasn’t the case. It was a cool discussion. That was a very good Post Mortem. Everyone should take notes for PALISADE Post Mortem questions-wise.)

And then they do get out. And they join Millenium Break. And then aside from wanting to leave prison and hating the people they work under they’re just also kind of different people with different motivations and wishes and it shows during the Kingdom Game and after… Like Millie is someone who throughout the Kingdom Game starts to believe that she can change something and help people (and not just via violence, the Strand Semaphore project is so important). And she makes more friends on Fort Icebreaker. She meets Si’dra again and that relationship is ALSO an important one (I like them I should think about them more. There is a bit where Millie describes them traveling together to set up the Strand stuff...). And she gets closer to Broun by working with them. Etc etc. People like her because She Is A Delight, and she hangs out with different people but Leap’s still there as a person that’s important to her even as they probably see each other way less due to Millenium Break business and having different missions and whatnot.

And in my head there's something special too about Leap really pushing for the attack on Vigil City to help that Equiaxed community and Millie backing him up bc 1) duh but 2) something vulnerable about it because he gets actually emotional about it (unusual for him). And do they talk about THAT ever I wonder? If they did it would've had to been before the mission because after. Well that attack is the one where Millie loses the squad she's been pretty much training & hanging around with. And like shuts herself off again except from a few people, one of which IS Leap (and then Si'dra and Broun and that's it). (Such a good Millie Moment btw. One of my favourites). But I would say that's much more of a 'let's get away from everything for a bit' kind of hangout not a 'hash out your grief' hangout. (Another aside but I am like. I mentioned this above but imagine if Leap had had a drive about this equiaxed community or something or even just the time to contact them (I think it just got lost with so much stuff going on. I know players can't follow every thread they are given and make choices but. Ooohhh well I'm just thinking about it).)

Like I really don’t think they’re the type of friends to talk about shit. There's since scene where Millie is like „Hey I'm bad at this stuff, but are we like, cool?“ that I love a lot. I love youuuu Millieeee. So they either don't do this OR it's very Rare and honestly mostly uncomfortable when they try (fun to me : D). And neither likes it all that much. So they‘re fine. It‘s fine. There’s so much going on all the time I’d rather just hang out with you and shoot the shit than get into Stuff. That type of deal.

So it's all of this BUT like... They're best friends. They DO care about each other (in whatever way they do or don't show that) & also continue to, I just think its complicated and weird, and that they grow apart a bit too! Expecially when Leap leaves and Millie stays, and then gets disillusioned with MB leadership, and then SHE leaves...

And I think. Well I'm of two minds on Leap asking Millie to come with when he leaves bc it's nice to think. Saying hey you have a place with me. Look I drew a comic about it once. I like that. But for me in the end the weird tension option wins out. And like she's a bit bitter about it. She wouldn't have come, not at the point that he left, before Valence died, before they got really fucked up in that Auspice mission and there was this kind of ideological split in the MB leadership. But he didn't offer in the first place, so it wasn't an option after she wanted to leave, either...

(There’s a line that’s like „I haven't been getting any better offers“ in PZN36 when Millie is agrees to leave with Broun et al and it made me go OH? (delighted). Like that has to be about MB generally too but. Well I can spin this. As a headcanon I do like to think maybe Millie visited Leap after leaving Oxbridge and then kind of wanted him to offer again & he didn't.) Because I think Leap is 1) practical type of guy and 2) just thoughtless sometimes and didn't ask because he thought well she's not coming we each have our own shit going on. Which makes sense then but also. Man!

(Just about Millie now) And after all that. The the whole shit in the finale. And her at the end of PARTIZAN... How much are you changed as a person after being kind of melded with the one True Divine and also being there when your rival (also a god) dissolves/comes as close to death as a divine possibly can? AND when someone you if not were expecially close to but worked with and got along and maybe admired died to help you get out? There’s a reason she left everything behind and ran and never stopped(well we don't know that. But. Well she's off somewhere doing something). Auh... Millie....

ALSO addition I don't wanna bother working in anywhere I think I'm jumping around too much already: I listened to Millies Pusher episode a while ago and Sylvi talked about Millie had trust issues briefly and I was so happy. Expecially when she & Austin were referring to Leap leaving Millie behind in the DESERT SQUIRE arc. And it's so fun because Millie clearly is mad at him for a bit after that but she just kind of chooses to get over it? (That's the scene where she approaches him like hey are we cool I mentioned earlier. And like wants assurance that they have each others backs, and she brings up Clem, etc.). That's where that belief I mentioned at the start comes from too, and it stays, since... I don't think THAT many beliefs get challenged in general, but Millie and Leap don't get there. And it's like... OK I actually still can't form a coherent sentence about this specific thing because the thing is Millie SAYS multiple times that Leap & she have each others backs and she acts like it, too (backing Leap up) and still with this in the back of her head. Millie as someone who wants better things for herself and isn't used to getting them in her life. There's something in my head I can't quite grasp & articulate. I don't know. It makes me think. It's why I wrote roughly 1900 words total here. I love her & anyways trust issues make sooo much sense for Millie in general ouhh I love to think about it. That's why Gucci et al (MB leadership) fucking up and letting the team down like that after the Auspce mission / Valence's sacrifice hits so hard and she goes back to leaving, just wanting to live a quiet life, claw your way out...

Millie sleeps at Leap's room sometimes either for a sleepover hangout type deal or when he's somewhere else & she just wants to sleep somewhere that's not... hm. In my mind she's sleeping in like a bunks-type situation you know like. How bedrooms for soldiers on a military vessel would probably be like. I'm not sure that's canon though. But you get the picture there it's a bit of peace and quiet

I dont know. the chost where Keith says Leap drinks any hot tea because he shows off by drinking boiling water keeps making me go show off to WHO. WHO is impressed by this and I'm not sure the answer is Millie but she'd probably at least think it's funny. So they do dumb bullshit. Like that's just canon I think they never stop throwing food but I think they get a lot better about it (not as in it's less annoying for everyone else but as in it's like a stupid party trick because they get really good at it)

re: that (showing off), they do the thing where you put your hand flat on a table and stab a knife between the fingers getting faster each time (I feel like this has to have a specific name?! Wikipedia just says knife game. alright) but to each other. And I think it goes almost very bad at least one or two times expecially because they also do this when they get drunk

Notes on The Five Approaches by Eiden Teak Okay, so more or less, it breaks down like this: There are five “approaches” to how Kalmeria is used. What’s Kalmeria? Well, the Kalmeria Revolution kind of bumped up everyone's power level and brought us back to the things were (supposedly) back in the Miraculous Millennium, before the Perennial Wave. “Hey, that’s not an answer to what Kalmeria is,” you might say? And to that, I say, shut up, no one really knows how it works. But here’s how people make it work (all approach names and sketches tentative):

The Null Approach, also called the Mundane Approach uses Kalmeria and the Perennial Wave’s natural technological negation attributes to basically nullify and reduce magical effects. Kesh is really keen on this, and so are a lot of us in Millennium Break. A lot of our blue collar folks, especially, like in the Oxblood Clan and Company of the Spade. Kesh weapons and Altars enhanced by the Mundane Approach seem to dampen the sound and light around them, swallowing the impact of incoming blows. 

The Arcane Approach blends Kalmeria with some of the older sources of power we’ve had for a while like our Chorus Bond, a Twilight Mirage resource called “Q-Glass,” Hyphan strati tech, or the Memoria which Columnar stole from us. In brief, it's very "device" oriented: For us, that means lots of staves, orbs, cybertomes, alchemical potions—classic conduits of power, yeah? For Columnar and the Frontier Syndicate, they often use independently moving, choreographed lots of bits, funnels, and drones—all of which produce with strange visual phenomena, like eye floaters and optical auras.

The Divine Approach uses Kalmeria as a medium for calling on the power of a Divine directly and immediately. Whether that’s from Nideo and the other Stels or from the Divines of the Mirage, it seems very paternalistic, but that’s just my view. It really just escalates the familiar way Divines blessed Hallows, extending it to their pilots. You know: Glowing skin; fiery auras. Living wings.  Both on the pilot & the mech. Nideo stuff looks statuesque and angelic. Mirage Divines are less humanoid by default, and seem to be more insectoid than normal. You can tell the difference between Nideo Divine magic and the Mirage’s use because the former always smells—units report a near endless list odors associated with Nidean Altars, including ash, incense, sugar, mint, sulfur.

The Profane Approach uses Kalmeria in a way similar to Motion did—which frankly, I don’t love— to even more easily create things out of the raw Perennial Wave: Gaseous particles cohering and then solidifying into forms. Damaged armor bursts into liquid, then gets reformed on the simple frame. Melee weapons change shape and dimension as needed. Ranged weapons need no ammo, as it’s generated by the Demiurge Engine. Used by lead companies of Stel Orion, who were allowed to salvage parts of Motion from the salvage field above Partizan since they weren't directly involved in our fight there. But also used by the Crown of Glass, whose witch has a direct relationship with Perennial. When Orion Altars are on the field, you might find yourself tasting blood or berries or something even stranger.

Finally, the Elemental Approach brings together Kalmeria and the capabilities of the Branched to blend the outside world with the inside person. For the Branched themselves, this has brought them in closer conscious/experiential contact with both nature and society—those that choose to tap into Kalmeria find that they literally feel the world more. The Apostolosians, meanwhile, have performed some truly dark research on the Branched, and have used the results to reshape themselves and their war machines directly—in some way, becoming more like their hated enemies the Branched, though they haven’t seemed to notice. The result is that they adopt parts of the environment as expressions of themselves in both their altars and their bodies: Summoning shields of ice, firing lightning or fire from their limbs, turning their flesh to stone, even calling storms into clear days—and when they do, nearby people ungrounded physical sensations: a finger down their back, an itch they cannot scratch, or something stuck in their eye.

It's kind of funny that Tumblr is once again circling the "There's a secret last episode that makes the ending make sense!" Rumour again.

I liked the Shadow. Some of the fights had amazing animation. But the story? Stretched thin. Too many questions left unanswered when they could have been addressed.

Dating an Avenger was difficult, but dating an Avenger who’s name was Steven Grant Rogers was way more difficult than dating any other Avenger. You loved Steve for many reasons, he was headstrong, determined, and he stood up for the things he believed to be true- even if standing up for it was illegal.

Since the beginning of your relationship with Steve, you both agreed that you would be open about whatever was on your minds, but after the fight with Ultron, Steve began to shut you out. You gave Steve some space for a few days after he came back from Sokovia since he normally was more distant after a big fight, but he continued to be distant. He was barely home, only staying to quietly eat and sleep. You did whatever you could do to make him relax, mostly by cooking whatever he was in the mood for. 

You kept this up for about a year, cooking, cleaning, and hardly talking to your boyfriend. After Rumlow blew himself up and Wanda deflected the blow into a nearby building, everything started to spiral out of control. The UN was preparing to pass the Sokovia Accords- which Steve was not wanting to sign-, the Avengers split up, Peggy passed away, all while Steve was trying to bring his best friend back from being brainwashed. 

Steve was surprisingly home and spending time with you, cleaning up and washing the dishes while you cooked dinner. You were making grilled salmon, something you had made plenty of times before. There were no words being spoken between you two, the only exception being “excuse me” and “here you go”. Usually, cooking with Steve was fun and relaxing, but you had a million thoughts going through your head at once. You were worried about Steve, and your relationship with him. You didn’t want to admit it, but your relationship was deteriorating right before your eyes. 

“You’re doing that wrong,” Steve said, snapping you out of your thoughts. You looked over at him, giving him a questioning look. “You need to add at least double the amount of pepper.” Glancing down to the bowl that held your spice mix, you re-assessed how much pepper you put in.

“No, I put in the right amount,” you corrected. “Don’t worry, I’ve made this dish thousands of times, I know how many spices to put in.”

“But that’s not the right-” Steve scoffed, cutting himself off. “Fine, I guess we’ll have bland salmon.”

“I put in one and a half teaspoons and that’s what the recipe says. If you want, you can check the recipe,” you reasoned. You studied his face worriedly as he angrily glared at the spice mix. “Steve, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong,” he harshly answered. “Why would something be wrong?” You hesitantly walked over to him, placing your hand on his cheek, forcing him to look at you.

“You’ve just been,” you paused, carefully thinking of the proper word to use, “distant.”

“Distant?” He pulled out of your comforting touch. “Of course I’ve been distant. My life is literally shattering before me.”

“Steve-”

“People are expecting me to do what’s right, but I don’t think signing the Accords is ‘what’s right’. I’m expected to be this perfect man, this perfect hero, but I’m not. I’m held up to unrealistic expectations and it’s taking a toll on me.”

“How can you say that?” you retorted, disbelief completely present in your voice.

“What?”

“How can you say that,” you repeated, “while you expect me to be the perfect partner.”

“What do you mean?”

“You expect me to cook, and clean, and comfort you, and say the right things at the right time,” you listed. “I know it’s cliché, but I need you to realize that no one is perfect. You don’t need to hold yourself and those around you to such high expectations.”

“But I need to be perfect. So does Tony, and Nat, and Sam, and everyone else. We’ve had to be perfect since the day we became the heros.”

“No,” you sighed. “You don’t have to be perfect.”

“You don’t understand.”

“Then help me understand,” you pleaded.

“You wouldn’t understand,” Steve persisted.

“Why not?”

“Because you’re not an Avenger or an ex-S.H.E.I.L.D. agent, you’re just some random civilian in the city!” Steve shouted, making you flinch. Not once had he yelled at you in the past. You saw no regret in his eyes, not even the realization of ‘oh my goodness, I just yelled at my partner for the first time’.

You hurried over to your shared room, too hurt to continue the argument or dinner at that point. You quickly shut and locked the door behind you, making sure Steve couldn’t follow you in. As Steve made his way to the door, you collapsed onto your bed, face planting into a pillow and beginning to cry.

Steve raised his fist, about to knock on the door, until he heard your sobs. He hurt you and that hurt him more than any injury he ever got from a mission.

He gave you the space you deserved and you unlocked the door after an hour and nine minutes of being in your room. About ten minutes later, he entered the room and noticed your seemingly asleep body.

Steve quietly got ready for bed, still not forgiving himself for what he did. He sat on the edge of his side of the bed, rubbing his hands over his face before lifting the covers and lying on his side. He faced you, but you faced away from him with your eyes open, pondering what he’d do next. He gently rested his arm on your body, taking a deep shaky breath before saying the three words he never went to sleep without saying to you.

“I love you.” He paused. “Please don’t forget that.”

You turned around, snuggled into his chest, and wrapped your arm around him. Steve tightened the embrace, kissing you gently on your lips.

Deny It (Takeshi Kovacs x F!Reader)

Requested by @endmeprettyplease :Would you be willing to write maybe a short Drabble or something of the sort about Takeshi realizing he's absolutely in love with the reader. Maybe she kicks ass as good as or better than him.

Author’s Note: HEEYY!!! Super sorry this took so long but I really hope you enjoy!

Warnings: Language, violence, bruises, stitches, murder, guns

The first time Takeshi feels absolute love for you he immediately rejects the notion, playing it off as missing Quell. 

The second time is when you’re patching him up after a fight and he catches you staring a bit too long.

“Something wrong?” Takeshi gruffly asks as you snap out of your daze, picking the tool back up and stitching his split brow.

“Nothing, I was just looking at your wound,” you lie, turning away and mentally cursing yourself. Takeshi smirks lightly, knowing a lie when he sees one. Instead, he turns his focus on you and the way your brows furrow together in concentration, your pink tongue poking out slightly as you fix his wound and Takeshi can’t help but notice the way the light casts a halo above your head, reflecting off of your skin and creating an angelic glow. Takeshi is drawn in by your beauty, and for a minute, he forgets about his past and only focuses on the present.

But still, he denies it.

His heavy footsteps pound against the hallway of the hospital as he frantically searches for your room. Upon coming across it, he barges in and sees you sitting up on the bed, seemingly flirting with the nurse. The sight makes his blood boil.

“What the hell were you thinking? You could’ve been killed!” He shouts as the nurse takes his cue to leave, leaving you with the Envoy.

“Kesh, it’s no big deal,” Tak sighs, taking a seat as you rummage through your bag and pull out a stack. “Besides, look what I got.” He leans forward, interested in the stack.

“You got it?” He looks back up to you before taking a full note of your appearance. A dark bruise accompanies your eye as your cheek supports stitches. Tak pales. He wasn’t there to protect you. “Shouldn’t have risked your life for it,” he pulls out a cigarette, lighting it and taking a hit, trying to decipher his feelings.

“Well, now we can spin him up and question him,” his hazel eyes scan yours before taking the stack. He pockets the piece of metal, taking another long drag of his cig.

“Are you alright?” You shrug.

“Nothing that hasn’t happened to me before. I’ll be okay,” you smile softly and Tak is mesmerized.

Tak can no longer deny his attraction toward you. Not with the way you take down assailant after assailant with ease while he stands and watches, trying to hide his growing problem. After you shoot the last person, you let out a huff and turn to Tak.

“You know, some help would’ve been nice.” You kick one of the guys, putting the safety back on the weapon as Tak surveys the room. “Earth to Kovacs. Why didn’t you help?” You pull him out of his thoughts as his large hands grab your shoulders roughly as he looks down at you.

“I think I am in love with you.”

“Wha-” you’re cut off by his lips against yours. Melting into his hold, you throw your arms around his broad shoulders as his tongue swipes against your lower lip. Granting him entrance, you moan into his mouth as his tongue fights with yours for dominance. Him easily winning.

After a minute of kissing the Last Envoy, you pull away, your mouths connecting by a string of saliva.

“What was that about? What do you mean you think you love me?” You question but Tak just chuckles.

“Just shut up.”
