"What are you staring at?"
The young man smirked, looking down at her as he pointed at her hand. “That ring of yours looks awfully valuable. It’d be a shame if it disappeared, now wouldn’t it?”

shslarrogancereplies:
The heiress managed to hold her facade only a moment longer after the girl walked away.
Her heart had shattered when the other turned away. She exhaled sharply as the girl seemed to disappear in nothingness Why. Where are you going. You could’ve tried to stay. Yelled at me.. Told me I was wrong. Why didn’t youfight?
The blonde removed her glasses, placing them on the table. She ran her fingers through her hair, distraught. She pounded the table, she wanted to yell — but nothing.
She’d been angry, yes, but had it been the other’s fault? Probably not. The heiress felt as if the sun rose and fell with the detective. She was perfection. But if not angry with her then.. who? Why’d she such awful things to someone so.. undeserving. The lilac girl had done more for the heiress than anyone, and more than anything she’d stayed with her when no one else would.
But not now. This time.. she was gone. It was her fault. Her actions didn’t make things better. She was still angry, but this time only at herself.
As she stood alone, holding back the tears a voice nagged at her. 'If she really cared, she would have tried harder to stay. Face it, she never wanted to be here with you to begin with. It's your fault she's gone, but don't worry. She's happier without you.'
Her heart ached at the thought, but who was to say it was wrong? No one. Her knees met the ground as the wall she’d been building for so long fell. Tears stained her face as she struggled to control her breathing.
Everything hurt, and she was alone.
A part of the sleuth told her to stop. Royal purple heels came to a halt, several feet away from the heiress after those cruel words were said. Her own however, were most likely just as sharp, just as cold and icy, painful even. Kirigiri knew staying to pick a fight was only but of a waste of her energy and time. The sleuth wasn't all that passive either, but was it worth staying to endure such things again? It was difficult. The first time she was hurt, she was given daily reminders. This was probably the second time she has ever endured something like this. Perhaps it was even far more painful than her first. The pounding of the table snapped the lilac girl out of her thoughts and she peered backwards, watching the heiress lose herself entirely. It was painful to see Byakuko like this. Her unconditional love for the heiress was almost as forbidden as the cliche romance tales. A detective and the future queen of the most wealthy business in this country? Such things were almost illegal, even for Kirigiri. This she knew. While the sleuth wanted to comfort the heiress, another part of her kept her in place, lavender eyes peering as the other girl collapsed onto her knees. Anyone else would capture this moment in their minds forever. The strong, diligent and confident heiress of the Togami Conglomerate had collapsed due to having a heart. Half of her was facing towards the exit, while the other half was facing her beloved heiress. Now this was troublesome. The sleuth wasn't in her right mind either at this very moment. Emotion and logic tended to clash and contradict, and this itself confused her even more. Being in spot seemed like the most reasonable, but so did leaving and comforting Togami.
