wow okay. i suppose im nitpick anon now, and people did not like my opinion on talents lol. i know the post hasnt marinated too long but im only here again to expand on my opinion because commenters had some pretty snarky replies in reference to me saying talents should be. productive. im sorry that all of you felt i was trying to make a big deal when i really wasnt intending to. i just dont think they make for very compelling skills, let alone something worthy of a shsl/ultimate.
also i never claimed that canon dr never pulled talents like that, because they very much did and suprise, i dont think those are great either. no, i dont think robot is a talent because thats more so a state of being. i disagree with the point of princess not being a talent because while it is a status, running a country is pretty productive and takes skill if you ask me (if done right lol). my criticism was more against talents like being a neet. or being a zombie. or something that is not a talent. just because canon dr makes some lackluster 'talents' doesnt mean that fanworks shouldnt strive to be better.
not that it matters too greatly, its all fan work at the end of the day. hope this explains my stance a little better though lol.

[The following text is under the cut]
"These pressures include not only the usual things such as getting good grades and getting accepted into a good school, but also expectations such as attending club and cram school in one’s “free time.” Not participating in club activities or going to cram school (preferably a very good, well-accepted cram school) means not trying one’s hardest. And all of this, of course, is on top of other expectations such as responding to familial obligations, hanging out with friends, possibly even having a part-time job. And school is five days a week with an extra half day on Saturday, usually.
Understandably, this pressure is just way too much to respond to sometimes. There are many high schoolers who respond to the pressure by simply holing themselves up in their rooms, refusing to participate in any of it, passively rebelling against the norm by engaging instead in activities or interests which aren’t usually considered important or interesting to “normal people.” Otaku and NEET culture definitely emerged as a result of this forced pressure to succeed—and the stigma associated with being considered either of these things is very negative.
I feel as though DR as a franchise has always tried to reflect and provide commentary on these super unrealistic expectations of high schoolers in its plot. The very concept of “SHSL talents” and Hope’s Peak as a school for only the best and brightest in dr1 was very much a metaphor for the ways in which only the smartest, strongest, most talented students will be provided the environment and materials they need to succeed, while the rest will be thrown by the wayside. Sdr2’s and dr3’s addition of the reserve course and Hinata’s character arc only fleshed this metaphor out further.
Just as in real life, in DR, students who don’t exhibit any “noteworthy” talents or abilities are discarded and thought of as useless to society. There’s so much pressure and so many expectations on these kids that not being able to rise up to those expectations causes them to want to do basically one of two things: 1.) Give up and die, quite literally. Or 2.) Escape somewhere else with some other option where they don’t have to respond to these expectations and can be around people with similar interests and mindsets instead.
It’s not a coincidence that we’ve had a variety of otaku or NEET characters in DR throughout the years.
While Yamada was little more than a joke character, it could be argued that he’s the one who first started the whole “2D > 3D” language that is featured very prominently in ndrv3 with Tsumugi later on (my mind keeps going back to the “Yamada timeline” fake ndrv3 spoiler and I keep laughing). Meanwhile, more recently added characters to the franchise like Mitarai, Saihara, Tsumugi have touched heavily on what it means to truly become a recluse from society and reject the world around you.
Because of the way in which societal pressure quite literally can drive students to want to kill themselves, there’s definitely an underlying degree of sympathy in the DR franchise with most characters who hole themselves up in order to engage in some kind of fiction or escape from society. The pressure to succeed, to socialize, to behave “normally” while still striving to be “the best” and compete with everyone around you, is immense and ruthless, and I’ve always respected that DR as a franchise handled the topic rather well in addressing that it’s perfectly normal and understandable to be unable to respond to that pressure.
But the series has also not shied away from touching on the much more negative aspects of otaku/NEET culture too, and I also appreciate that. As much as DR includes gross jokes and character tropes that it shouldn’t, it can be serious when it tries to be. The ways in which otaku culture can and has been used to defend very gross/insensitive topics by claiming “it’s just fiction,” “it’s not hurting anybody,” etc. is something that got brought up specifically in ndrv3, and I’m very, very glad for it.
Tsumugi’s desire to escape into the realm of fiction and “the world of Danganronpa” because of the escape it presents from reality is easy to see from an otaku context. Unlike the real world, where more questionable or sensitive subjects would never get to be thrown about carelessly, anything goes in fiction as far as Tsumugi is concerned. DR is a world based upon tropes, parodies, and super-caricaturized fictional characters. Blood, gore, death, sexual innuendo, you name it: it all goes, and it’s considered “exciting” and an “escape” from unchanging, bland, everyday reality—“because it’s just fiction.”
Ndrv3 highlights very clearly the dangers of throwing oneself into this mindset too thoroughly and too wholeheartedly. By casting away one’s willingness to actually interact with or open up to people and to accept that reality is something which can be impacted by our choices and our interests, we run a very dangerous risk of not caring about anything that happens as long as we can turn a blind eye to it.
There’s a very clear reason why Saihara and Tsumugi and probably many of the other ndrv3 characters were so convinced that the killing game show was “the best” and the only possible escape from the pressure in their lives: because they were taught to think so. Because they lived in a society which made them feel worthless as long as they weren’t performing according to ridiculous and extreme expectations, and if they couldn’t perform to those then it’d be better off to be part of something else that could actually help them forget about the real world entirely.
Tsumugi as the ringleader in ndrv3 is undeniably an interesting choice, and she’s absolutely incredible as an antagonist. The fact that she switches from seemingly harmless otaku who makes occasional references to visual novels and anime for most of the game to an incredibly effective blank-slate chameleon who has no empathy and no sense of self is chilling—moreso knowing that she’s actually a producer for the show, in the same way that Mitarai who had a similar problem of escaping reality (though without being evil) made anime, rather than just consuming it. Again, I maintain my stance that Kodaka’s not trying to make fans of DR out to be the villain in ndrv3: quite the contrary, it’s Team Danganronpa and the people who staff it who are seen as the biggest problem.
This was really fun to write about, thank you so much anon! There’s a lot with DR that comes back to these themes and social commentary, and I was very glad to see ndrv3 continue that trend. The franchise is hardly perfect, but its willingness to criticize the horrible societal pressure that’s so prevalent in Japan has been a constant, and it’s something I think Kodaka really does feel strongly about."
A lot of people seem to miss the point on otaku culture in V3 to a pretty severe degree. There's a reason why Shirogane is the ringleader people.
I feel as though alot of people in the western part of the fandom might be sort of unfamiliarwith how much the idea of being an “otaku” is intrinsically tied with verynegative connotations in Japan. It’s easy in the west to treat it as a kind offunny term which basically just means really liking anime or Japanese media ingeneral, but it goes much deeper than that.
There is quite a lot of societal pressure to succeed in theJapanese education system. The same applies anywhere, of course, moresonowadays when millennials get looked down on no matter what they do or don’t doand the opportunities for successful jobs are slimmer than ever. But in Japanspecifically, there is a high rate of depression and suicide attempts amonghigh school students who cannot “keep up” or “fit in” with the pressure tosucceed academically.

[Gonna delete all my post and change this blog to a new character!]
[Hey, so I don’t ever use this blog aside from out of character post and honestly, that’s starting to annoy me so I’ve decided to switch my muse to another muse and that muse? Akira Tsuchiya from Danganronpa: Rebirth/Rebirth: Voices! although I was under the understanding that roleplaying as these characters or using those sprites were prohibited I decided to ask for myself on the Danganronpa:Rebirth:Voices discord and it turned out to just be a misunderstanding.]
[Apparently the rules are simply not to roleplay as them on sites completely dedicated to roleplay so of course tumblr wouldn’t be counted in this. And with that being said I’m honestly excited for this change in character!]

Title: Intentions Fandom: Danganronpa:Rebirth Pairing: Tsutaiya Akira/Fujimori Ayushi Rated: G Warnings: None A/N: WHAT'S THIS? A FIC BASED OFF OF AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE? oh you BET IT IS!! For anyone curious, this is based off of the Danganronpa:Rebirth joke that was released on April Fools. I wrote this based off of some discussion a friend and I had over the joke, where we came up with the plot, personalities, and pairings of this prank. We both decided we liked the new protagonist, Fujimori Ayushi (shsl bad luck) with Tsutaiya Ayushi (shsl neet). Based off of sprite expressions and speech patterns, we gave them personalities and kinda just said fuck it. Anyways, I'm obsessed with this joke and might actually like it more than NDRV3. So here's this. I'lll probs make more at some point too. Link: http://archiveofourown.org/works/10531551
_________
There it sat, just barely out of his grasp. More than anything he wanted it, wanted to reach out and take it before someone could snatch it from him. However, he continued to hesitate. Was it fear? Apprehension?
Why would anyone be afraid of grabbing a small, simple parfait from the breakfast buffet? Well, surprisingly enough, Tsutaiya Akira was. But no longer! He swallowed back his irrational fears and with eyes closed reached for the petit dish, only to find himself gripping something soft, and much much warmer than a cooled yogurt. His attention was quickly on what he’d grabbed instead of his choice breakfast, finding a lithe hand in its place. He dropped it quickly, feeling embarrassment color his face a bright red, before he glanced to see who he’d grabbed.
“Oh, uhm-” He stared at the girl dressed in stormy colors before his eyes fell back to the desert. “Sorry, Fujimori-san…” He murmured. “Did... ah, did you want the parfait?”
He heard her giggle, but found himself too embarrassed to glance up at her. “I don’t mind, you can take it. I’ll go grab something else!” And as quickly as she’d interrupted his breakfast, she was gone.
He suddenly found a reasoning for his apprehension, and quickly snatched his parfait before returning to his room to eat.
_____
He’d found himself sitting in the library when it happened again. Much to his luck, they’d had a respectable manga collection. Things he’d already read, but it wasn’t like he’d mind reading again. He glances briefly at the titles, his eyes skimming down the row as he absently reaches for another book.
And again, he’s met with something warm and soft, contrasting the smooth and chilled cover of his select manga. Again, his attention is pulled to a girl with grey hair and a soft, if not sly smile.
“Sorry, Tsutaiya-kun! It looks like it happened again!” She says, making no move, however, to pull her hand away. Of course, the neet wastes no time dropping her hand and pulling his arm to his side.
“Yeah… I…” He hesitates. He’d never expected they would encounter the same problem again, no less in the same day. “I’ll just go find a different title,” He says quickly, concluding that getting away from her would be the best choice. So he quickly turns on his heels and bolts in the opposite direction, leaving behind the stacks of manga and her soft laughter, much to his dismay.
Why was he so flustered in the first place? Of course, it was because he wasn’t used to being around people! Let alone, touching them and their hands- no matter how soft and warm on particular set might be.
Of course he just couldn’t be around people.
_____
He was gonna sit in his room for the rest of the day. That was how he was gonna resolve this. That was how he resolved everything.
But this wasn’t home, and sitting in his room could only last as long as his hunger subsided. And he, albeit reluctantly, left his room to go grab a snack. Quick.
“Oh, Tsutaiya-kun!”
Quicker. Much, much quicker. Before he somehow accidentally grabs her soft, warm hand again.
“Tsutaiya-kun, please wait up!”
He wondered how awkward it would be if he kept walking as fast as he was, but his body wasn’t built for that and his lungs began to burn. So he slowed down, letting Fujimori catch up to him. She walked beside him, looking up at him with that same smile that seemed to fit her well, though he wondered if there was any face she could make that wasn’t pretty-
Sidetracked. He needed to walk faster. “I have something I wanted to say! I was going to say it earlier but you left the library before I could!”
He hesitates to ask her what it is she wants to say, and even when he feels the words bubble up, they catch on his tongue when he feels his hand brush against her.
“I have a confession,” She continues, glancing away from him but never moving her hand from where it continually touches his. It appears that again, he’s going to have to be the one to move again. As he’s about to, she does something to stun him further, not as if it was hard to stun him before. She grabs his hand in hers, giving it a slight squeeze. “I didn’t really want the parfait, and I didn’t want the manga either. I kinda- uhm- it’s embarrassing, but I wanted to hold your hand. Like this!”
His mind went blank, murmuring the only thoughts he’d had as he continued to walk. “Soft…”

The Incredible Shrinking Unlucky Student Part 1
Monodora feels like the killing game just isn’t interesting enough. He whips up an interesting new motive, which involves a peculiar thing happening to a certain unlucky student.
The day had started out average enough.
Ayumu woke up, the morning announcement blaring in his ears.
“Good morning, everyone! Please meet in the cafeteria for a very important announcement!” Monodora spoke.
Ayumu grumbled, mustering what little energy he had to get out of bed. He didn’t sleep a wink last night. The thought of a killing game was far too scary for him to sleep like a baby. But no one here looked like that they could be a potential murderer, right?
Right?
He slipped into his outfit, briefly taking the time to attempt to get the one tuft in his hair to just stick down. When that attempt proved to be fruitless, Ayumu stepped outside, only to be greeted by Seishi.
“Ah, Mr. Fujimori, good morning!” Seishi greeted.
“Hey, Seishi! Are the others at the cafeteria?” Ayumu asked.
“Only a few people. Come on, we shouldn’t keep Mr. Monodora waiting,” Seishi responsed. The mystery novelist and the unlucky student walked down the hallway.
Once they got to the cafeteria, they saw that Misuzu, Kazuomi, Kasumi, Mitsunari, and Narumi were already there.
“Good morning, Seishi. Good morning, Ayumu,” Misuzu greeted.
“Hey,” Kasumi grumbled.
“I wonder what Monodora fucking wants...” Kazuomi growled, the karate practitioner resting his head in his hands boredly.
“Hungry? I’m about to start breakfast!” Narumi chirped.
“Why did Monodora wake us up so early?” whined Mitsunari as he spoke for his puppet, Uma.
“Uma, you always wake up at 11 am!” objected Mitsunari as he spoke for his other puppet, Shika.
“Hey, I need my beauty sleep, you know!” Uma yelled.
“Now, children, we shouldn’t fight!” Mitsunari himself repremanded sternly.
“Sorry, daddy...” both puppets chorused.
Soon enough, more people started piling in. First came Aruma, who looked rather... aroused.
“Sorry, everyone! I was having the most... hot dream ever...” Aruma spoke. “It involved-.”
“Enough of that shit!” Kazuomi growled. Nevertheless, the purple-haired animal trainer went to sit by Kazuomi.
Next came in Saiji with Nico and Maiko at his heels.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, everyone,” Saiji apologized with a polite dip of his head.
“You don’t have to apologize all the time, you know!” Maiko repremianded.
“So- Never mind,” Saiji stopped himself before he could be reprimanded again.
“I didn’t sleep. The thought of a killing game hung over my head like a hawk over a field of chickens...” Nico murmured. The poet, the undertaker, and the dancer sat together at their own separate spot at the table.
Marin and Kego came in a few seconds later.
“Good morning, everyone! Big sis hopes that you all had lovely dreams! Poka poka! (^ω^)” Marin beamed. Ayumu’s mood brightened upon seeing the cheerful weather forecaster.
“I was hoping that I could practice my sick beats before Monodora said that he needed to see us...” Kego mumbled.
Lastly, Mikoto came in the room with Akira not too far behind.
“Let’s see what Monodora wants now...” Mikoto grumbled. The mysterious girl sat next to the open chair near Ayumu.
“Eh, it’s probably for no good reason...” Akira concluded. The NEET took his own spot near Aruma.
Not too long after Akira sat down, Monodora popped out of literally nowhere.
“Goooooooood morning everyone!” The disembodied cat plushie head spoke. No one spoke. “Oh, come on! You youngsters are so rude!”
“You are literally keeping us here...” Akira pointed out. Monodora continued as if the dark blue-haired NEET hadn’t spoken at all.
“Anyway, I noticed that no one here was going to kill each other-!” Monodora started.
“That’s because we refuse to do that!” Seishi interrupted.
“Will you all STOP INTERRUPTING ME?!?” Monodora yelled. Once the room was completely silent, he continued. “I noticed that no one here was going to kill someone, sooo I concocted a little motive for that to happen!”
“We are not going to fall for it, Monodora!” Ayumu shouted.
“Ooooh, I think you will! Speaking of which, Ayumu... come here!” Monodora ordered. Seishi protectively wrapped his arms around Ayumu.
“He is not going to follow your orders!” The redheaded novelist yelled.
“If he doesn’t come up, I’m just gonna kill you all right now!” Monodora cackled. Ayumu gently pried himself out of Seishi’s grasp.
He got up, his legs shaking as if they were supported by jello instead of bones. Ayumu hesitantly stepped towards Monodora, his heart thundering in his ribcage like a boxer punching rapidly at a punching bag. Once he was close enough to Monodora, Ayumu found himself barely able to speak because his mouth was dryer than a desert. That was when a Monodora did something completely unexpected. He took out some kind of gun and shot it at Ayumu. The unlucky boy cringed as a tingling sensation encased his body and... nothing. Ayumu opened his eyes to see his body briefly encased in a yellow aura, which then disappeared after a bit.
“Well, that’s enough of that! Bye for now! Upupupupu!” Monodora promptly left.
A moment of silence filled the cafeteria. It was so quiet that you could easily hear a crumb drop. Finally, it was Kazuomi who broke the silence. “Hey, Ayumu? Do you... fucking feel okay?” the SHSL Karate Practitioner asked.
“Y-yeah, I’m fine. I’m just... shaken up, that’s all...” Ayumu mumbled.
“Big sis hopes that nothing serious happens to Ayumu-kun... poka poka... (☍﹏⁰)” Marin muttered worriedly.
“Someone should just keep watch of Ayumu, just in case...” Mikoto suggested. “We don’t know what that beam did to him.”
“If anything at all, really,” Akira piped up. “It could just be a trick to make us think that something happened to Ayumu...”
“Guys, seriously, I feel fine!” Ayumu objected.
“I agree with Mikoto. Someone should watch Ayumu just in case...” Saiji pointed out.
“I’ll do it, Mr. Rokudou,” Seishi offered. “I hope you don’t mind, Mr. Fujimori.”
“N-not at all!” Ayumu stammered, his cheeks going as red as his eyes. Wait, why was he getting so flustered? Seishi was just a really good friend! Friends shouldn’t make other friends flustered. Ayumu shook off his romantic thoughts as he walked alongside Seishi.
The rest of the day continued as normal. Ayumu was always with at least one student: he was at first with Seishi, then with Saiji and Maiko, then with Marin and Kazuomi, and lastly with Mikoto. They never left him alone for a second. Once nighttime struck, Ayumu went back to his room, not feeling too different at all. He changed into his pajamas, got ready for bed, and crawled under the covers. For the first time since this killing game, Ayumu went into a deep sleep.
/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/
The next day came surprisingly fast, but Ayumu found himself not wanting to leave his bed. The covers had a comforting grip on him, for they felt somewhat heavier than usual. The morning announcement broke him out of his tired stupor, and Ayumu climbed out of the covers.
Although it wasn’t obvious, Ayumu could tell that something was off. First of all, he found himself having to bend his legs a little less in order to get out of bed. Okay, nothing too strange. When he went to change clothes, he noticed that his clothes felt a bit... looser on his body. Maybe he lost weight? He hasn’t really been eating much since the killing game, no matter how delicious Narumi’s food was. But then as he could hear someone knock on the door, he noticed that the doorknob was a bit closer to his face last time.
Seishi was at the other side of the door, and he was immediately struck speechless the second he saw Ayumu.
“Uh... greetings... Mr. Fujimori...” Seishi sputtered out, still eying Ayumu up and down.
“Hey, Seishi...” Ayumu murmured awkwardly. The two boys left together.
As they walked towards the dining hall, Ayumu felt Seishi’s gaze heat up on him. Why was Seishi staring at him? Was it something on his face?
When Seishi and Ayumu got in, it became everyone who was staring at Ayumu. Some were scanning him up and down, others were whispering to the person next to them, and others gazed at him worriedly. He got his plate of breakfast from Narumi... noticing that the fork was slightly bigger.
As everyone ate, people kept glancing at Ayumu every now and then. That was when the unlucky boy snapped.
“Why is everyone staring at me?” He asked, nervousness in his voice.
“It’s nothing against you, Ayumu, it’s just that...” Saiji trailed off mid sentence.
“Something seems different about you,” Kego finished.
“Nothing really feels-.” Ayumu was cut off by a yellow aura encasing his body. A brief pulling sensation encased his muscles, and then the aura wiped away. Ayumu noticed that he could no longer touch his heels to the floor.
“W-what the fuck?!” Kazuomi stuttered.
“Is it just me, or did Ayumu get shorter?” Narumi asked, finishing her toast.
“No, Ms. Osone, we all saw it too,” Seishi replied.
“Did an evil spirit do this?!” Kasumi gasped.
“Calm down, everyone! Big sis is sure that it’s just a one time thi-! ⊙﹏⊙” poor Marin was cut off by the yellow aura encasing Ayumu’s body again, knocking him down a couple of inches.
Now everyone was freaking out.
“Is Ayumu just going to keep shrinking?!” Aruma yelled.
“D-definitely not! He has to stop eventually-!” Saiji stammered, rudely cut off by Monodora entering the room.
“Hate to tell ya this, prayer boy, but Ayumu isn’t gonna stop shrinking!” Monodora laughed.
“But if he keeps shrinking...” Akira mumbled, showing his own form of unease.
“Then he’s going to get too small for us to even see!” Misuzu finished.
“Correct!” Monodora cackled. “And he’s just gonna keep shrinking... and shrinking... and shrinking...!”
“Tell us what we could do to fucking fix this right now, you monochrome piece of shit!” Kazuomi yelled, seething with rage.
“Woah, woah, no need to get hasty!” Monodora laughed. The yellow aura encased Ayumu’s body yet again, which shrunk him down even more. “And the answer is simple, KILL SOMEONE! Bye for now! Upupupupu!” And with that laugh, Monodora disappeared.
“This is baaaaad!” Maiko yelled, looking at Ayumu.
“Oh, puh-lease, we are not going to give in to that c*cksucker’s motive!” Kasumi yelled.
“But... Ayumu...” Nico started. The yellow aura struck again, shrinking Ayumu down by a couple of more inches. Seishi looked lost in thought.
“Wait!” He spoke up. “There is a way! Mr. Monodora said that there is a chemistry room!”
“How’s that going to help Ayumu?!” Mikoto hissed.
“There are certain chemicals that Mr. Fujimori needs in order to stop the shrinking!” Seishi spoke.
“Then what are we fucking waiting for?! Let’s get them!” Kazuomi yelled.
“Wait, someone should stay with Ayumu! If no one watches him, we could step on him by accident!” Saiji pointed out, worry overtaking the voice of the typically cool and refined undertaker.
“I’ll do it,” Mikoto volunteered. “The rest of you, go!”
The other 13 students nodded, running off, leaving Mikoto alone with Ayumu.
————
Mikoto knelt down next to Ayumu, wincing as he shrunk further. Something in the back of the girl’s mind wouldn’t stop nagging her.
She failed.
She failed to protect Ayumu Fujimori, the Ultimate Unlucky Student.
Now he was going to shrink into nothingness if her classmates don’t hurry the fuck up.
“Uh... thanks for watching over me,” Ayumu spoke in an attempt to make conversation. Mikoto just nodded. Ayumu’s chest now lined up with the bench. “Mikoto? Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, Ayumu...” she mumbled, clutching her leg in worry.
“It’s not your fault, Mikoto, in case you were thinking that,” Ayumu spoke.
“It kind of is. I was supposed to protect you,” Mikoto hissed. That’s when she realized her error.
“Protect... me?” Ayumu echoed. He was knocked down a couple of more inches. Mikoto’s heart raced. He was now about the same height as Kego.
“I wasn’t planning on telling you this, but... my Ultimate talent is the Ultimate Bodyguard,” she spoke. Ayumu shrunk down more.
“A bodyguard?!” Ayumu echoed, still shrinking.
“Exactly. And as a bodyguard, I failed.” Mikoto grumbled. Ayumu placed a hand on Mikoto’s, which was now about the size of her entire palm.
“Hey, Seishi is gonna fix this! He and the others should be back anytime soon!” Ayumu reassured her. Mikoto gave a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it smile.
“I hope so,” she mumbled, staring off into the distance.
—————
Seishi straight up wasn’t having a good time right now.
Ayumu Fujimori, the boy he grew to care for, was now in severe danger. He didn’t know how small he was going to be when the other 13 students came back, or if he was even going to be visible to the naked eye.
Was this... all part of his plan?
‘No, don’t think about that!’ Seishi reprimanded himself, approaching the chemistry room.
“What chemicals do we need?!” Misuzu barked out, immediately rushing inside.
Seishi told them the chemicals that they needed.
“Hey, Seishi, how do you even know this?” Kego asked, currently rummaging through the supplement shelves.
It had been when they were kids. Zen thought it would be a good idea to shoot himself with a mysterious gun to scare his brother. However, Zen wasn’t counting on the gun being a rapid-shrinking gun. They had managed to stop the shrinking with those chemicals, but Zen now currently stood at an inch tall. Serves him right.
Seishi hoped that Ayumu would at least be bigger by the time the chemicals were obtained.
Saiji had gotten the first chemical, handing it to Seishi who responded with a ‘thank you’. Mitsunari had found the second, which Seishi immediately took given Mitsunari’s puppets being on his hands. Lastly, Kasumi had gotten the last chemical. Seishi immediately mixed them together, his heart racing in his chest.
The 13 Ultimates ran out of the classroom. Seishi’s stomach churned with nervousness. ‘Hopefully, we’re not too late...’

7.) Recovery of an MMO Junkie:
Tv rating: PG-13
personal rating: 7/10
Moriko Morioka is an elite NEET, she chose the NEET life to pursue a more gratifying existence in the world of online MMOs. In the virtual world, she can reinvent herself and maybe even- find love?
6.) The World God Only Knows:
Tv rating: PG-13 warning for partial nudity
personal rating: 7/10
Keima Katsuragi seems to know everything when it comes to winning the hearts of the ladies. Well- I mean fictional ladies. He’s known online as “the god of conquest,” but can he put his money where his mouth is when a demon from hell chooses him for the important mission to capture the hearts of real girls?
5.) Kiss Him Not Me:
Tv rating: PG-13 warning for mature themes and that the main character is a fujoshi.
personal rating: 7.5/10
Kae Serinuma had never been super popular with the boys, and that’s fine by her. She’d much rather watch than be involved, who says that a prince has to be with a princess? What if the princess just wants to watch the princes dance the night away? But what happens when suddenly all the guys take interest in her?
4.) Princess Jellyfish:
Tv rating: PG-13 warning for offensive language and mature themes
personal rating: 8/10
Tsukimi Kurashita has always been obsessed with jellyfish and used to wish to be a princess. Soon those dreams of being princess turned into dreams of being an illustrator. Now at age 19 she lives with 5 other otaku women and feels like an outcast. One day she meets someone as close to a real-life princess as you can get in modern-day Tokyo that shows her that no matter who you are- you can too be a princess.
3.) Yuri on Ice:
Tv rating: PG-13 warning for partial nudity and mature themes
personal rating: 8.9/10
Yuuri Katsuki is a promising Japanese figure skater still feeling the overwhelming weight of his latest defeat. One day a video of him performing his idol’s, Victor’s, skating routine goes viral and suddenly victor appears right on his doorstep! This show is honestly so beautiful and though it may be more focused on sports, the romance that blooms is so sweet and wonderful it will make you cry I swear. Pair that with just a fantastic comedy and you got yourself a great rom-com.
2.) Tsurezure Children
Tv rating: PG-13 warning for mature themes personal rating: 10/10
This show is all about showcasing young love in all its shapes and forms. It’s funny and light-hearted with some sweet moments mixed in. There are so many fun personalities and super cute scenes! I never get tired of watching this!
1.) My Love Story
Tv rating: PG-13
personal rating: 10/10
Takeo Gouda has always had trouble with girls due to his appearance, he’s a burly bear of a man at only 15. His best friend is cool and never has any problem with attracting the ladies. What will happen when a sweet short girl named Rinko enters the equation? This is honestly one of the most wholesome and cute animes that I’ve seen in a while. It showcases that slow and innocent kind of love that’s bound to make your heart swell.

I realized something. In your non-despair au Ouma is one of the Rebirth kids but the thing I don't understand is why they're all still in Hope's Peak. The program was meant to remove their talents completely and also Hope's Peak is meant for those who are the best in their field-which makes me dislike Saihara even more. If he's SHSL detective Kirigiri must be rolling in her grave.- With their talents weakened their not SHSLs so how are they Hope's Peak students?
In my non-despair AU the Talent Removal Project is a project affiliated with Hopespeak Re:Birth says not everyone wants to go down the road of being burdened with their talent, which might limit what their future holds for them. Additionally, there is a fear that certain talents may be misused for evil purposes such as murder. As such, the “Talent Removal Project” was founded basically I think that for all the love of SHSL’s there would logically be some that fear them so there would be a branch in Hopespeak that would look at the Hopespeak students and offer them a chance to remove their talent, it’s kind of like how there was an elementary school affiliated with Hopespeak that researched child talent and many of those kids would grow up to be SHSL.
They’d start as Hopespeak students and transfer to a different faction to remove their talents so they’d be more affiliated than anything but still treated as Hopespeak students for the most part, the way I’d see it they’re held in more regard than the Reserve Course but less than the Main Course a sort of middle ground if you would.
The talent removal project was founded also primarily due to similar reasons why Saihara got his talent. In a previous post I explained that I think that some SHSL’s get their titles due to Hopespeak wanting to stay in a positive light in the public eye so that they can keep nurturing propper SHSL’s so they can ‘bring hope to the world with their talent’. So Hopespeak has to do their best to remain in a positive light especially since their funding comes from the government, alumni and Reserve Course fees, if they fall out of favor no one would want to pay the Reserve Course fees since they mostly go for the ‘brand’ and the government wouldn’t want to fund them either so they need to do things such as give SHSL Titles to people who don’t really deserve them but are in the public eye to stay in a positive light and have things like the ‘Talent Removal Project’ for ‘dangerous’ talent to make sure the public doesn’t fear SHSL’s.
A student can either volunteer to enter or be volunteered by a family member. Volunteered students are interviewed by school officials before admission, but people who are volunteered by a family member are forcibly admitted. So Hopespeak students can volunteer to remove their talent but they have to be approved of by the staff before they are transferred over. So all the Re:Birth kids were Hopespeak kids in different classes in their first year before moving to the Talent Removal Project in their second year and spending the last two years of Highschool there.
The reasons for the Re:Birth class joining are these:
1.Fujimori Ayumu- SHSL Unlucky Student
Volunteered by his sister. He also believes his talent to unpleasant. The government also insisted on his participation after it was rumored his bad luck caused multiple plain crashes.
2. Yodogawa Seishi- SHSL Mystery Novelist (Lie)/ SHSL Hitman
Claims that his writing has become too violent and wants to try writing other genre’s but in actuality, it’s in order to murder Ayumu. He’s not interested in removing his talent.
3. Koga Mitsunari- SHSL Ventriloquist
Is concerned his puppets have a stronger personality than himself.
4.Rokudō Saiji- SHSL Undertaker
Was volunteered by his parents because they want him to make friends, but his talent makes people his own age avoid him.
5.Tsuchiya Akira- SHSL NEET
Claims it is because his mother wants him to conquer his past image and be able to go outside again.
6.Sakuma Kēgo- SHSL DJ
In order to cut his ties with the criminal society. (Why are all the tiny ones involved in crime?)
7.Samejima Kazuomi- SHSL Karate Practitioner
So he can enjoy his life peacefully, without drawing people’s attention.
8. Itsuki Mikoto- SHSL ???/ SHSL Secret Agent
In order to investigate and arrest Yodogawa and protect Ayumu, she’s not interested in removing her talent. She doesn’t even come up with an excuse she’s just there to do her job but she eventually ends up caring about these people.
9. Himuro Nico- SHSL Poet
Because she got bored of her talent.
10. Kagura Maiko- SHSL Dancer
Volunteered by her parents as they are worried about her future because she accepts job requests and this is injuring her legs.
11. Izumo Kasumi- SHSL Spirit Medium
Was volunteered by her parents because they want her to make living friends.
12. Aisaka Misuzu- SHSL Shrine Maiden
Was volunteered by her parents as they are worried about how she overworks herself because she treats her responsibilities as a holy mission.
13. Ōsone Narumi- SHSL Gourmet
She wants to become a normal girl who can talk about love while eating the small servings of food they usually serve at girls-only parties.
14. Ouma Kokichi- SHSL Supreme Leader
He wants to learn how to be more honest with himself and others and be able relationships and friendships with other people
15.Todoroki Aruma- SHSL Animal Trainer
Because her doctor told her she gets too excited when taming and this makes her blood pressure rise to a point her life is at risk.
16.Mizuta Marin- SHSL Weather Forecaster
She works 24/7 to gather data for weather forecasts, so she doesn’t get any free time, and she wants to spend more time with her family and friends.
As you can see the talent is either holding them back from other things, a danger to themselves or a danger to society, I hope this was able to explain a little bit about how the Talent Removal Project Works even if three of it’s participants aren’t even there to remove their talent.

This is a bit of a thank you for following me, and I wanna say some things about a few people. If you’re not on here, its likely I look up to you and I’m afraid to say anything about it >.< I apologize in advance. There are two sections, General and specific.
this is technically not a follower forever because I haven’t even reached 100 yet ^^; But i’m happy, doesn’t matter if i have 7 followers or 1,402!
IN GENERAL:
the people I’ve met on here are complete and utter sweethearts, and I’m sorry you have to deal with late night bullshit with me when its past 9pm without medication. But I’ve come so far imo, and its because of you guys, and some others who are no longer in the fandom. I’ve been in the DR RPC for almost 2 years now, and I’ve had friends come and go.
I’m always sad to see the ones from the past leave forever and thus leave my life, but I’m always so excited to seek out new people who I can have a good laugh with. , for the first time in the two years of DR rpc, actually 2 years of rping in general, I feel like I belong. And honestly... thank you all for including me. It may not seem like a big role on your part, but it means the world to me.
Furthermore, all though it may not seem like I like being on here, I actually do. I’m never on, and I apologize for that. Especially as of late, as I’m trying to get a job so I won’t become a NEET. I’m in love with the threads I have going, and I look forward to the ones ahead!
And to personals who see this: Thank you so much for following me! I’m sorry I don’t follow back so I can keep my dash clean so I can read rps, but I really do appreciate that you enjoy what I write and how I write Angie. Your follow means a lot to me!
As to RPers, You all are so talented, it makes me feel so inferior to you all. I have an inferiority complex, and I’m a bit shy at first, with no social skills whatsoever. But you all play your muses fantastically and I love reading whatever’s on my dash: its how i procrastinate and keep myself from writing my own threads (oops)! And now for some people:
SPECIFICS
@clowndictator I love your Ouma!!!! you seem to flesh out his character flawlessly and effortlessly, and i’m a bit jealous you can do so! And about your portrayal, though its different from fanon, you take every word that comes out of Kokichi’s mouth and evaluate it and come to conclusions, it seems as though your Kokichi is canon, when it isn’t, technically! Keep it up! And Ashe, I still wanna go to scotland :(((((((( but instead you get internet hugs~ because you are awesome, I love you, and I hope you have fun with Sham!
@tulpacest SPEAKING OF WHICH Shamu, ever since you followed me on my old blog I felt blessed to have you as a follower. Like Ashe, you put a lot of passion into Korekiyo, and love him for the good the bad and the ugly. He’s so detailed, sassy, and clever, and you put so much thought into why korekiyo does what he does, and you didn’t delete sister, which was honestly really great! (I don’t support incest, but its there, so might as well run with it, y’ know?) My angie needs to interact with Kork so they can be problematic and discourse inducing together.(PS. I see you liking my posts, don’t be silly and act like I don’t >u>)
@ahogedetective Hey, so I know we don’t talk much, but I adore your Shuichi with a passionate heart! He has a certain level of “done” to him that I admire with his sarcasm and all that, as well as a kindhearted protag side that wants to protect his friends, unlike Hajime, who shoves all of his friends away. and our pre-established relationship??????? we can send text threads?? ? ? ? and have it apply to their relationship????? GIMME @shslmasseur I don’t know EVERYTHING about julion but the foil between Julion, the voice of reason, and Angie, the voice of impulse, is actually very interesting to say the least! And the mun is a wonderful, insightful person who loves their OC to death. I’ve actually interacted with you waaaaay back when I first started rping and you stuck with me through tough times, which is more than what I could ever ask for! You’re so sweet, its like you’re sugar incarnate or something! And Julion needs to teach Angie a few things that are ... you know... not ok is2g
@hopeful-hugz-danganronpaau Hey, you! Yeah, you! I ADORE your OC, she is 100% nerd material imo, which strays her away from the popular kids, and brings the fact that she had been bullied to be believable, based off of your select musings for hope. But ANYWAY, Angie always wanted an apprentice friend, and Hope might just be the key to getting through Angie’s stubbornness, and maybe be able to persuade her, if Hope was persuasive, that is. And Egg is a genuine, wholesome mun who just wants to have fun and rp, and I love talking to them OOC! I love rping with you, I eat up every word you write!
@luminaryblood PRINCESS KAITO I LOVE YOU and i know we hardly talk, and we’ve never interacted, But I just wanna put you here to say, “HI WE SHOULD RP AND HAVE EITHER ANGIE OR KAITO SNAP” because that’d be fun, amirite!!??? Anyway, Sammy is, too, a great mun, and an amazing rper for Kaito. I just need to get my butt in gear so I can make another starter call :((((((
@ctrlaltkibo SPARKY M’ DUDE! YOUR KIIBO IS VERY WELL WRITTEN AND i LOVE YOUR PORTRAYAL TO BITS, whether it be Human kiibo or normal kiibo! and you’re so kind and funny too, to boot! I absolutely would follow them again if I had to remake again! also can i have your discord (......... don’t hurt meiowegoiwegfoi)
@bleedingracquets You meme, get back online and then i’ll tell you what’s what iowergoiwegoiwegoikwleds JK JK EVEN THOUGH YOU’RE NOT ONLINE HALF THE TIME I STILL LOVE YOUR PORTRAYAL OF RYOMA AS A ROUND CHARACTER and not a flat one. I can finally say that i’ve interacted with your Ryoma outside of drawing dicks on his forehead :’) Also i love your art so much, and you devote so much time to your art and the style is so amusing to look at, most times I can’t look away, it’s so good-- Anyway I love you and your ryoma and I hope you come back soon ;u;
And some honorable mentions, who I’ve talked to very little, or interacted very little or not at all, and would love to interact with your muse!!
@shlngetsu, @shokvzai, @claireinette, @airheaded-donuts, @ayatsurii, @stalwart-protector, @nantitcntei, @ahogeadventurer, @misfxts, @mutxremundi @hasukuro @harujuku-punk @hopebvllet @cxruscxte @intoknives @imperfectmusicfreak @tensax (and @upupawa) @shsl-sfx @kosmec
Thats all I can think of at the moment oops But I just needed to get this off my chest!!!! Thank you for reading, stay Hydrated, take care of yourselves, have fun in life, and live one day at a time you all! You all matter to me. I don’t want to see you guys get hurt. Cheers~

Miwashiba’s April Fool’s Prank, Danganronpa Re:Birth

EDIT: Please check this post with updated information, including character names, talents, creator, etc.

Also thank you to @shinichameleon for their names!
Go read here for their names and pictures too:https://www.reddit.com/r/danganronpa/comments/62map6/psv_danganronpa_rebirth/dfnslya/
From there, and what I could understand at 3am, their talents are:

Itsuki Yastuki - SHSL ???
Yodogawa Seishi - SHSL Mystery Novelist
Mitsunari Koga - SHSL Ventriloquist

Ohsone Narumi - SHSL Gourmet
Sakuma Kego - SHSL DJ
Todoroki Arushi - SHSL Trainer
Mizuta Marin - SHSL Weather Forecaster
Sameshima Kazuomi - SHSL Karate Practitioner
Thank you @kaibutsushidousha for the corrections! Changed Voice of Reason to Mystery Novelist, and Psychic to Spirit Medium (it sounds better this way haha)
This April Fool’s Prank is made by △○□× or Miwashiba, creator of Alice Mare, 1bitHeart, and LiEat series.
They also have a tumblr account
Since this is an april fool’s prank, this is NOT an official game. Characters, etc., are all developed by Miwashiba. Check out their twitter for more info!
This was supposed to be a full-fledged game, but in the end, Miwashiba decided to just keep it as it is; an April Fool’s prank. The trial version of DR Rebirth will be uploaded on their website.
Accordingly, I will edit the original post, since my question as to who made this has been answered. Please do reblog the edited one instead, or this one with updated information.
Many thanks goes to @shinichameleon and @yoshinova for the answers!
