This is what "winning" looks like.

I drew Shrike! This one kinda just… happened? I was trying to sketch her face in profile to get a feel for how I was going to draw her, and then got hyper–focused and just kept adding stuff until the drawing was done. I'm actually really proud of how the composition turned out.

I kinda just started sketching her braid, and figured hey: that's looking kind of like a chain, and ran with it. Oh yeah, hand–drawing 70–something chain links was a task, but it was totally worth it!

i love that there is an adorable little bird that kills things in such a grotesque way that we just can't stop naming fantasy things after them.

for context, shrikes look like this, and they're also called butcherbirds! :)

they hunt prey such as insects and mice, and they kill them by impaling them on the sharp spines of plants.

If I wasn't so broken up by Liv dyin', I'da checked him right then. But when we got ta that last room...he killed 'em all. He *ate* some a' them ma-fuckas.

"Afta Ariadna died, I thought I'd neva see him again. I...I ain't want to. But when I was about ta get took by Manny's cartel family in Philly, he showed up again and rocked they shit. He saved my feline ass again." He sighed. "I don't know what's scaria, a daemon who eats ma-fuckas or the fact that daemon's the closest thang I got to a friend." He paused. "Wonda if he like cars."
