She's actually Lyra (Lexington's) cousin and the heiress to Solaris Industries. She's from a long line of powerful witches/Attuned (I made her related to my Kindred coven lolol) but was raised separate from her twin and without knowing of her magic. Her family and the Mistrys are close business partners and amicable friends so there were rumors about the families reuniting. I thought this would make it more interesting since she now has a name to live up to at Penderghast. Her fashion sense is preppy and she's a mix of Stella from Winx Club and Dionne/Cher from Clueless if that makes sense??

Also for Shreya, I personally headcanon her as half Indian half Arab. Her ethnicity wasn't specified or anything but just in case it would be helpful

Just a personal plea...

If for any reason at all (no questions asked), you are unable to participate after signing up, please message me as soon as possible! Every secret pal/admirer/exchange event I've hosted always has had 1-3 people not follow through which leaves me scrambling to create for those people's matches at the last minute. Synopsis: Emma, Shreya, and Atlas run into Beckett at breakfast and Emma discovers a new Attuned food.

"Let me guess—" Emma began, quieting Shreya's excited tone. "Some famous Attuned chef I've never heard of but who probably catered an event for you has prepared some incredibly magical treat for breakfast?"

Shreya pressed her hands to her hips, her smile falling slightly. "You make it sound so utterly dull." 

Emma opened her mouth to apologize, but Shreya continued. 

"You've been spending far too much time with Atlas. We've got to get you back to society."

"It's not me." Atlas shrugged. "Don't worry, Emma's still the sunshine of our group. She's just a little cranky this morning... she didn't get much sleep." 

"Is everything alright?" Shreya looked over her friend, beginning to think of healing spells. 

"I'm fine," Emma insisted, brushing off Shreya's worry, shooting her twin a quick don't you dare glance. She looped her arm with Shreya's pulling her forward.  "Now, let's go see what is so special about breakfast today. You were telling me about the chef and his specialties?"

"I wasn't but now that you asked—" Shreya began rambling off facts about the chef and private events she had catered. 

Emma smiled and nodded along, trying to keep her eyes open when she was desperate for a nap. Not looking where she was walking, she bumped into a tall student in line in front of her. "I'm sorry—" she began, recognizing his dark blue blazer before he even turned back.

"Emma?" Beckett couldn't help the smile spreading across his blushing freckled cheeks. "I did not think I would find you here. I thought you were  sleeping in."  

"Oh, yeah," Emma's cheeks warmed as her gaze shifted to Atlas for some help, but she merely found her twin smiling in amusement, watching their awkward encounter. 

"Why would you be sleeping in?" Shreya questioned with concern. "Are you sure you're feeling alright?"

"Oh, I think she's feeling just fine," Atlas smirked. "Just a little worn out from some early morning—or was it a late night—'yoga'." She added air quotes to the last word.

The hue across Beckett's face darkened at Atlas's words. 

"And here I thought 'yoga'"—she offered, using air quotes again, "—helped you relax, you seemed quite exhausted but very dreamy—" she mimed gagging, "—when you returned this morning at... what was it... 4:30 am?"

Emma chewed her lower lip. 

"Oh! OH!" Shreya's lips drew into a knowing smile of amusement. "No wonder you're tired. Keeping our girl up all night, Harrington? Impressive! I didn't think you had it in you. I bet you two worked up an appetite."

"I beg your pardon?" He didn't think his face could flush any darker.

"Okayyyy," Emma tried her best to move them along. "Look, we're next. Oooo, pancakes. I love pancakes. Pancakes are so delicious. Did I ever tell you the time when I was six and my parents made me pancakes shaped like a bunny for easter? Oh and they cut up bananas on the pancakes and added chocolate syrup, there's really no end to what you can do with pancakes. Strawberries on pancakes are also delicious. Did you know, pancakes—" 

The trio stared at her, Beckett in relief and Shreya and Atlas with amusement, her rambling words trailing away. 

"Would you like to say pancake one more time?" Atlas teased. "I don't think you've said it enough."

The cafeteria worker handed Emma a tray with 3 large, fluffy, circular pancakes. A look of disappointment fell on her face. "Huh, I expected more. They look just like tuneless pancakes."

"Oh, they're so much better!" Shreya announced gleefully as she guided them to a booth on the side.

"So when do I find out what makes these pancakes magical," Emma questioned. "If I eat them will confetti rain down? Will I make weird noises?"

"Not this time," Shreya replied. "These are no ordinary pancakes. They're shape-shifters. Watch this." She focused on the pancake on the top of her stack, concentrating on a single image in her mind. Slowly, before their eyes, the pancake transformed into the shape of a blossoming orchid. 

"Woah!" Emma marveled. "How?"

"It's a centuries-old recipe passed down. The chef has yet to reveal the secret, but I've been working on wearing her down. She can't say no to a Mistry forever."

Beckett didn't dare contradict her. Usually, he'd love bragging about his superior knowledge—it was rather a simple spell. He had learned it at the age of five— but right now, he didn't want the conversation shifting back to him or Emma. 

Emma focused on her pancake, her gaze momentarily shifting to Beckett, admiring the way the glowing sun kissed his face through the ornate stained glass windows. The pancake transformed into a heart, with a B + E appearing at the center. 

"Bleh—" Atlas choked, before picking up her pancake, which she had turned into a mace, dipping it in syrup, and biting off the end. 

"What are you going to make?" Emma questioned curiously of Beckett.

"I can think of something he could turn it into for her." Shreya wagged her brow, enjoying as the pair blushed. "Thinking about last night, Harrington? Be careful or you never know what might appear."

"Gross," Atlas mumbled through a mouth full of pancakes. "I'm trying to eat. I don't need any graphic "yoga" depictions popping up on the nerd's plate. It's bad enough I've seen them kiss. I can't stab my eyes out with a pancake dagger."

Shreya laughed, holding her hands up in a peaceful truce. Her mind quickly returned to the shopping trip she had scheduled next, the pancakes on her plate following suit, one turning into a long gown and the other a shopping bag. 

Emma and Beckett breathed easier as the conversation shifted. Laughter bubbled between them as the morning sun shimmered around the space. Despite the teasing, their free hands tangled together beneath the table. 

This is just a silly little idea that popped into my head. It's not edited, so please forgive any mistakes.

In this, The Elementalists MC (Sam) is with Aster

Arriving at Shreya's dorm room with a plate of food in one hand and a steaming drink in the other, Riley uses his foot to knock on the door. After a moment of waiting, the door is opened by Sam.

Sam - Hey, Riley. Come on in.

Riley - Thanks.

Sam steps to the side so Riley can step in and they notice the food and drink in his hands.

Sam - Breakfast on the go?

Riley - Actually, this is for Shreya, handmade by yours truly.

Shreya - Is that so?

Shreya steps out from her room and Riley gives her a smile.

Shreya - Have you had something?

Riley - I did. Promise. And slept.

Shreya - Good. So I was thinking, maybe we should head to class a bit earlier, because the only way our project is going to work is if we're outside where we practiced. So get there a bit earlier, and just explain the situation.

Riley - Okay.

Shreya - But before that. I am having that food.

Arriving to the classroom a little bit earlier, Riley and Shreya find Katrina sat at her desk.

Katrina - You two are early.

Riley - We were hoping to ask a favour about our presentation. We can't do it in here. We need to be outside by the lake.

Katrina - Okay. I can put you both in last to do your presentation if that would help.

Shreya - Thank you, Katri-- Professor.

Riley raises an eyebrow at Shreya and Katrina laughs.

Katrina - It's okay, Shreya. We're not in session, so don't worry about using my name.

The pair take their seats as other students begin filing in.

Riley - You're on a first name basis with the Prof?

Shreya - Her brother is a friend.

Riley - Fair enough.

Once all the students are in, Katrina stands and addresses the class.

Katrina - Good morning everyone, hope you're ready for your presentations. Now, I have been asked by one pair that they go last as their presentation requires that they be elsewhere. So I ask now, is there anyone else who needs to be somewhere out of class to do their presentation?

A couple of pairs raise their hands and she writes them down under Shreya and Riley's names.

Katrina - Okay then. Who would like to go first?

Over the next few hours, pair by pair give their presentations. Riley puts his feet up on the desk to get more comfortable in order to keep his backside from going numb, and soon Shreya rests against him, laying her head on his shoulder.

The time soon comes for the class to move elsewhere as one of the pairs gives their presentation. Once they have, they all move to another location for the second pair to give their presentation, and as soon as they finish, Riley and Shreya share a look as it is now their turn.

Katrina - To the lake then?

Shreya - Yes.

They all make their way to the lake and Riley takes a deep breath. Taking their places in front of the class, they begin their presentation.

Shreya - While it took us a bit of time to figure out what to do for our presentation and combine our Magicks, we figured out that a possible life saver would be a good way to go. Riley?

Riley - So, say you're mountain climbing or doing an Arctic or Antarctic exploration and you're freezing. You can actually take the snow or any water around to do this...

Taking some of the water from the lake, he swirls it around the class and begins compressing it into snow layer by layer until they are all surrounded by a giant igloo.

Shreya - And then...

She creates flames around everyone with the heat remaining inside. Looking around, Katrina soon gives her attention to the pair with a smile and begins applauding. The others soon join her and Shreya gives a bow while Riley smiles.

Katrina - I can understand why you wanted to be outside for this one. Well done. Well done to all of you in fact. You can be expecting your feedback next week. For now though, Riley, Shreya, we would like a way out that doesn't involve drenching us.

Riley creates a door and everyone filters out with him and Shreya following last. Once back in the open quad, Riley uses his magick to put the igloo in the water. Walking to the edge of the lake, Riley sits down and soon falls back, drained of energy. Shreya stands above him, holding her hand out to him.

Shreya - Come on.

Riley - Where are we going?

Shreya - Late lunch.

Riley - I never say no to food.

He takes her hand, getting to his feet, and they begin their way inside.

After a satisfying lunch, Riley leans back in his chair, running a hand down his face.

Shreya - Can I ask you something?

Riley - Shoot.

Shreya - Next week, there is a gala, and as a Mistry, I have to be seen. You want to come? It would be more fun with you around.

Riley leans forward, meeting her gaze with a smile.

Riley - Sure. I should warn you though, I have never been to anything so formal.

Shreya - You own a suit?

Riley - Yeah.

Shreya - Then you'll be fine. The rest of my friends will be there as well.

Riley - I've met Sam and Aster. Briefly.

Shreya - You've yet to meet Atlas, Zeph, Beckett, and Griffin.

Riley - I'll try not to make an embarrassment of myself.

Shreya - Just make sure you sleep, and I can guarantee you'll be fine.

Riley shakes his head with a laugh.

Riley - You're not dropping that anytime soon, are you?

Shreya - No.

Riley - Okay.

They spend the rest of the afternoon hanging out, taking it easy and enjoying each other's company.

Surprise

She was in love with Eli. As such, she had to plan the most extravagant Valentine’s Day celebration she could possibly imagine. After all, she did not do things half-way. Shreya had been racking her brain, trying to determine the perfect date.

Usually, planning came easily to her. But every thought that popped into her mind seemed...inadequate. How was she supposed to plan a day as perfect as her beautiful girlfriend?

She sat in their dorm room, jotting down thoughts when Eli walked in.

“Hey!” she said with a smile, sweaty from Thief practice. Shreya quickly closed her notebook before standing to greet her.

“Hello, my love,” she sang, wrapping her hands around Eli’s shoulders. “How was practice?”

“Good!” Eli said, eyes dancing. “Zeph is really coming into his own as captain.”

“Of course he is,” replied Shreya, dropping her arms. “I never doubted it for a second.”

Eli smirked. “Of course you didn’t,” she replied. “You do know all.”

“Good,” Shreya replied with a mischievous smile. “I’ve taught you well. Now don’t forget it.”

“So what are you up to?” asked Eli, changing her clothes.

“Oh, nothing important,” Shreya replied, turning away from her.

“Nothing important?” asked Eli, suddenly suspicious. “Since when do you spend time on things that aren’t important?”

Shreya laughed. “I suppose you’re right,” she replied. “I was just working on some stuff for Serene and Sublime.”

“Oh?” asked Eli, interested. “Let me see what you’ve got.”

“No!” Shreya shouted, louder than she’d intended. Of course her girlfriend’s interest in things that mattered to her would backfire. “I mean, I’m toying with the idea of a mystery product, so I can’t share.”

Eli frowned, taking Shreya in. She was definitely acting strange, as if she was hiding something.

“Do you have something you want to tell me?” she asked, eyes meeting Shreya’s.

“Only that I love you,” she said with a smile. Eli watched for a few moments, seeing something else lurking in her eyes. She smiled, relaxing visibly.

“I love you too,” she replied. But when she turned her back, the frown was back. What was Shreya keeping from her?

Shreya was relieved that Eli believed her, that was way too close a call. She gathered her notebook and papers and stuffed them into her backpack, determined to go somewhere a little safer to plan.

“Oh,” Eli said, disappointed. “You’re leaving?”

“Yes,” replied Shreya. “I have a group project I need to work on.”

“Oh, what class?” Eli watched her carefully, trying to understand what she was thinking.

“Theory of magic origins,” Rheya mumbled.

Eli frowned. “What’s the project?” she asked.

Shreya looked at her, exasperated. “Darling, I really must be going,” she said. “We can chat when I return. Love you.”

She kissed Eli on the cheek, turning from her quickly and exiting the room. She hated lying to her, but some secrets required a little bit of...creative morality. 

Eli watched as the door closed, a churning feeling in her stomach. She’d never doubted Shreya before, but something about the way she was acting felt...off. She couldn’t think of a reason that she would be dishonest with her, but in their interactions that’s exactly what she thought was happening.

Shreya made her way through the quad, finding a table to sit and make her plans. She hadn’t been there long when Zeph bounced up to her.

“Hey!” he greeted her, smiling. “Whatcha doin’?”

“Oh, nothing,” Shreya said, her cheeks turning red.

“Looking a little pink for nothing,” said Zeph, raising his eyebrows.

Shreya sighed. “I’m trying to come up with plans for Valentine’s Day,” she said, waving her hands. “But literally nothing is good enough for Eli.”

Zeph laughed. “Come on, Shrey,” he said. “You don’t have to hit it out of the park every time. Just spend time with her. You know she loves you, that’s all she wants.”

“Zeph,” she said tutting. “It must be perfect. Eli deserves nothing less.”

Zeph rolled his eyes, patting her on the back. “Good luck, then,” he said, walking away.

Atlas walked through the door, spotting her sister spread across her bed. “Hey,” she said stiffly, dropping her bag.

Eli didn’t respond, a frown on her face.

“What’s wrong with you?” asked Atlas.

“I dunno,” said Eli. “I feel like something’s off with Shreya. Like, like she’s lying to me.”

Atlas plopped onto her bed. “That doesn’t sound like Shreya,” she said.

“I know, but I can’t help but feel like she’s hiding something from me,” Eli replied.

Atlas shrugged. “You should ask her about it,” she said. “You can talk to her, right? So just ask her.”

“Yea,” Eli said, quietly. “Maybe you’re right.”

Eli pulled out her phone, trying to find the right words.

“Hey you,” she began, chewing on her cheek. “I just wanted to see if we could talk, when you’re done with your group project.”

She tossed the phone on the bed, sighing. It vibrated almost immediately.

Of course, darling. I’m heading back now.

Eli waited anxiously for Shreya to return. When she finally walked into the room, she dropped her things and turned to Eli.

“Hello,” she said. Eli’s face was dark, clouded. “What’s the matter?”

“Shrey,” she said, taking her hand. “I feel like you aren’t being totally honest with me.”

“Whatever do you mean?” asked Shreya, brows furrowed.

“It just feels like you’re keeping something from me,” she replied.

“No,” Shreya said. “No, I’m not.”

Eli frowned, unable to meet Shreya’s eyes.

“Eli,” Shreya said, lifting her chin with her finger. “I am keeping something from you. I was hoping you wouldn’t notice.”

Eli’s eyes widened, her heart racing. “What?” she asked.

Shreya frowned. She’d tried to surprise her with the perfect celebration for the evening, but she’d failed. Might as well come clean. 

“I wanted to surprise you,” she said slowly. “But I couldn’t think of a surprise good enough for you.”

“Surprise me for what?” asked Eli, confused.

“Valentine’s Day, of course!” Shreya replied. “Didn’t you remember?”

“Oh,” Eli said slowly, thinking. “Oh! That’s today! Shoot!”

Shreya watched Eli’s flood of emotions, her heart bursting with love.

Chuckling, she took Eli’s hands. “How about we go for a walk and have a picnic under the stars?” she asked her.

“Oh,” Eli said. “That would be perfect.”

Shreya smiled. Another perfect Shreya Mistry surprise.
