It feels like these days, if a new show doesn't have record-breaking numbers, streaming services will simply abandon it before it even has the chance to garner a fan base

im crying the actors from that jiara obx ship hated each other so bad they killed jj off instead of simply giving us lesbian kie and jjpope.. it was all there and even in this season they were still adding more layers by having pope take the fall and go to jail for jj paralleling season one where jj did the same for him.. but they killed him ! amazing

best New Year's Eve in forever cos my sister and I fucking FINALLY started watching Interview with the Vampire
#interview with the vampire#it's literally the only show I've actually wanted to start lately and it still took me over 2 years to find the time#it's actually wild how little tv I watch now. part of it is not having the time but also#the state of the industry rn has made me fall out of love with the medium#shows either keep running and turn to shit or get cancelled after one or two seasons so it's hard to want to start something new#all that said lol we watched 2 episodes and I'm enjoying it so far#I'm not completely bewitched by it yet. hoping I get pulled in more and more as it goes which i can def see happening#I've seen plenty of bits and pieces and knew it would be super different from the book#but it's somehow even more different than I expected lol#in a way it's a good thing cos I can just take it as it is and not compare#I just still need time to wrap my head around these characters; this setting; this plot#because it's pretty much like entering an entirely new property haha#the dynamic between Louis and Lestat is of course fascinating - both very similar and very different to the book#and yeah I'm having a good time with it so far and intrigued to explore these versions of the characters#the book is one of my all time favourites and still reigns supreme at this point but we'll see if the show can catch up 👀

Rewatching 'The Great Big Tiny Design Challenge' and once again this show has made me insane. Two people made this whole room in like nine hours? Including the billiards table made from scratch? I'm frothing at the mouth in delight

I'm gonna be frank, I thought OFMD had already been cancelled (or at least everyone who made it finished this season without the expectation of anything more) solely based on the way the last few episodes of season 2 RUSHED to wrap everything up. It felt like they THOUGHT they were getting more at some point, but then they got to the last third and realized 'oh shit, we only have a couple episodes left to deal with everything we set up' so hearing the official announcement just doesn't surprise me.

watched the first two episodes of the live action one piece last night and, and
a. regret to inform u that in spite of it's terrible tumblr marketing campaign it is an actually entertaining show that displays a love for its source material (and respects the silliness of it) while making smart & reasonable decisions for an adaptation to a different medium, cannot fucking believe they broke the bad live action anime adaptations curse with ONE PIECE, also the production value is rly incredible honestly the sets and costumes are cool as hell,
and b. buggy truly the most insufferable theater kid, like he feels like he desperately wanted to play hamlet all his life but has had to do comedy so long that he is now incapable of not doing funny things. like if a thing is funny he HAS to do it and he will hate it the entire time. terrible guy. excellent character work.
also they rly love to put zoro in situations huh. every day he is getting tied up.
#algie watches one piece#it's a pretty good show with good writing (pay ur writers netflix) and excellent acting (pay ur actors also!!)#and lovely sets and costumes and stuff (set design n costumes not on strike but pay them ya fuckos)#cannot believe that this is how they break the bad adaptations streak but somebody had to do it i guess#it's obvs not a 1 to 1 faithful adaptation of the anime or manga but that is so obvious and clear for a live action adaptation#i am hoping that once the strike is done they get more seasons and also that netflix stops fucking cancelling shows after two seasons#but it would also be sensible to end each season on if not a true ending at least an okay wrapping up point. u kno.#bcos the anime is in fact so goddamn long and i do not expect them to cover it fully...... u get it#also i have not consumed all of the one piece anime or manga. some of it yes but it's SO long. u see.

i dont really understand why people are so upset about ofmd being canceled. like, we got two seasons of a really good show. the second season ended really nicely with the opportunity for there to be more story, but ultimately had a satisfying and sweet ending. i get being disappointed that there wont be another season, but i dont understand the extreme devastation there

the entirety of BFDI so far is 16:10:39 (hours, minutes, seconds). assuming the average sleep time is 8 hours, then that's a little more than typical waking hours
#wheucto#wheucto speaks#binging the entirety of BFDI in one sitting (from BFDI 1a to TPOT 6) is. possible. but barely#unless you like. stay up a long time_ later on this is just. going to be impossible#that is if you want to stay healthy sleep schedule-wise#and so far we only have 6 TPOT episodes. considering we have 35 (i think) contestants_ 2 contestants eliminated#if that stays true until. uhhhh. let's say an avg of 3 members per team for merge (or first merge)#3 * 6 = 18#that's almost half of 35. so it would take 17 or 18 episodes to get there if. i'm right which is unlikely#now if 1 contestant is eliminated after 1st merge that would take 15 for final three 16 for final two#if the same stays true (until final four/two) then it'd be 7ish for final four/three or 8 for final two#17 + 7 + 1 for the smallest estimate. that's 25.#each episode is about 25 minutes (assuming trends stay the same) so it'd be 625 minutes more (or 10 hours 25 minutes)#that is_ assuming that 1. tpot doesn't get canceled 2. 1st merge will happen when teams have 3 contestants avg#we'll need to wait about... 3 to 5 years (if the show gets completed) to see how many episodes (and how long they are) there'll be#(since assuming each episode comes in a month + half times that by 25 for a little over 3 years as the lower estimate and 5 as just. a vibe#- based guess)#if 625 mins is correct then it'd be over 26 hours long also known as more than a day. so. binge-watching all of bfdi is probably impossible#- when it all gets completed (assuming there isnt ANOTHER season after tpot. and who knows?)

y'know i think i prefer when showrunners have an ending in mind to work towards and/or at least a general plan for the show they're making actually. idk maybe I'M the weird one for liking story cohesion between seasons in the shows i watch
