Lo spettacolo è il 18 Maggio, al teatro "Le dame inglesi" di Merate.

Una possibile replica sarà il 29 Giugno, ma in piazza di Osnago.

[WIP] Lyralei's Pose addon - Part 2

First things first, MASSIVE thanks to @thesweetsimmer111 for all the help to make this work better and sharing her knowledge on Track masks with me (and the world!)

👀 Better Look at (with reactions!)

Maybe it’s just me, but I used to get endlessly frustrated when Sims wouldn’t properly turn their heads to face an item. So, I set out on a little mission to make their head movements more natural! Unfortunately, that didn’t go as planned—turns out EA’s code for the “Look At” feature is completely deprecated and no longer functional.

Knowing I couldn’t just code a fix, I had to explore other approaches. That’s when @thesweetsimmer111 came up with a brilliant solution: blending left, right, up, and down poses to create a more convincing look-at effect! 🎉

What's different?

Here's the original pose, without Look at turned on....

On the left, we got VA's original look at.

On the right is what Savanita and I came up with! :)

don’t want to make it seem like the original Look At feature was awful—it actually works pretty well in some cases! For example, in this pose, if the plant were on the other side, the difference wouldn’t be that noticeable since her head is already tilted slightly. 😊

Plus, maybe you do want something more subtle, then VA's Look at is great!

Anyways! Of course, I couldn't stop there! Now, your sim has a few options of turning towards the object:

Okay, let's give "Eyes Only" a try. So, we expect Morgana to ONLY look at the plant, with her eyes.

And, to please @nocturnalazure's wishes, yep! It now accepts Facial Expressions! :D

🎭Blending Poses/Reactions

After Savanita's amazing idea of using Track Masks, I found out that I can apply that same technique on, well, poses! And this is a feature I'm SUPER proud of (And honestly, it's taken me an entire week to get working 🙃)

First things first, when we choose the interaction, we will first be greeted by our "trackmask" list with all the selections on it

So, I made a few examples to show of what you could do, but in all fairness, it's endless!

Here I chose the option "Both Arms".

Here I chose "Head And Neck". Look! She even has the expression! (Don't worry though, i also have an expression-less version in the making ;))

What about... Animations?!

While blending poses has the ability to also type in your pose names by name, rather than list, you can also use EA's!

The list is pretty long ( believe 200 entries?) but here is a sneak peek:

Though, as far as I've been able to tell, EA reactions aren't as flexible, where I can tell it to only use the arms, or the eyes. Instead, we got these options:

So, unless I found a way to get around it, this is the only way to do it.

But without further ado....

Here I used the same pose(left) as the last 2 pictures, but with "OverlayHead". And chose "Boo"

(I just realised it looks like she is about to get hit by a ball lol)

🕰️ History List

The Add-on now remembers your pose history!

Whether you’re a dedicated “Pose by Name” user or prefer the simplicity of “Show by List”, both options now display your pose history for quick reference.

Note: Each Sim has their own individual history list. This means you’ll only see the pose history for Sim X when clicking on them, and not for Sim Y.

��What's up next?

Adding all the trackmask. (I still need add the hands and legs ones)

Adding an in-game Category maker, so you don't have to edit the XML. It will mean you need to replace the XML file in S3PE yourself. But I can always make a quick How-To for guidance 😉

(Note to self) Optimize the Categorisation code. It's currently taking 1 minute up from the loading screen 😬)

Fixing some minor bugs where Look at will still turn the sim's head back to it's original position.

Fixing some issues where Blending poses with certain track masks aren't working well or at all.

Fixing an issue where the dialogs can crash the whole game (woops!)

Sooo, I think a release date is pretty soon! I think within a week :)

Any VA Addon Bug Fixes?

Of course! It's the mod that inspired me to make stories, and even get to make this mod! I couldn't just... leave it to collect dust while it's other child mod is getting all the attention. :p

Changelog:

There is now an interaction that uses both look at & reaction simultaneously. (In case you don't want to use my look at interaction).

Fixed an issue where reactions would sometimes or never show on the sim.

Fixed an issue where using "Random Quick Poses" would occasionally show a breathing sim, doing nothing.

Fixed an issue where certain poses get called twice, making it harder to keep reactions or even look at history data.

Some minor code changes that aren't worth mentioning honestly.

🧸 A headcanon about their childhood

Russell had some of the strangest obsessions as a child. One of them being obsessed with silent, black-and-white films. Thankfully, they were allowed by the Utopians, so his parents let him watch them occasionally. Russell used to study the characters’ body language to see how they communicated without words. That's why he can easily pick up on people’s emotions just by watching their body language.

👻 A headcanon about what scares them

Letting people get close to him, both physically and non-physical. He doesn't like people touching him without his permission and hates being crowded around. Russell also fears letting people into his life and heart. He’s already been betrayed by people he trusted (aka the Utopians) and is scared of it happening again. Russell believes that if he doesn't let people get too close, it will hurt less when they inevitably betray and leave him.

👽 A headcanon about a weird quirk of there

Russell hates other people making his tea. No one ever gets it right or remembers how he likes it, no matter how many times he tells them. He will allow only four people in his life to make his tea without complaint and in order: his mother, Amy, his father, and Yann. His mother took her tea similarly to him; Amy paid diligent attention to how he liked it and made it her mission to remember the order; his father used to make Caroline’s tea and would also make Russell’s when he was too small to do it himself; Yann always takes the time to learn people's likes and dislikes, and while it took a couple of tries, he eventually got it right and continues to do so.

🦾 A disability headcanon

He has OCD. Everything has a place, and everything should be in its place when it is not in use. He also has to perform certain tasks in specific orders, or else he’ll need to restart. For example, he has to grab everything he needs in a specific order before he leaves his house. So even if he were to find his keys before his wallet, he wouldn’t grab them until he had his wallet, even if it would save time.

💔 An angsty headcanon

Russell used to collect coins when he was a kid. He stopped collecting them after the Utopian leader deemed no members could have unapproved hobbies, and unfortunately, collecting coins was not one of them. Russell was forced to get rid of or spend the money and was forbidden from collecting them again. After the Utopians were dissolved, he slowly began collecting coins again. Amy’s the only one who knows about the collection, as he’s scared that if others find out, he’ll be forced to get rid of them again. She’s never told anyone and gives him any unique coins she finds to add to his collection.

🎭 A headcanon about what they lie about

He was a child actor. Many Utopians pursue careers in acting, and even more put their children into the spotlight. Russell never had any significant roles and usually served as a background character. But there were a few movies where he was a recurring character. Thankfully for him, those movies weren’t very popular, so no one recognized him from them. Someone once questioned him about it, thinking they’d seen him in a movie or show before, but Russell managed to deflect their suspicions by saying he used to do commercials, and that’s probably where they knew him from.

😺 An animal related headcanon

Russell had a pet cat when he was a child. Technically, it was his mother’s cat, which she had owned for years before he was born, but the cat loved Russell as if he were her kitten. Where Russell went, the cat was never far behind. She was his protector, and Caroline took many pictures of the two together. Sadly, the cat died of old age a couple of years before Russell escaped the Utopians. To this day, every time he sees a fluffy white cat, he thinks of his childhood pet and his mother.

💄 An appearance headcanon

Russell is a stickler for cleanliness and good hygiene. While he’s not an overly vain man compared to others in Pacific Bay, Russell is guilty of taking extra care of his hair. He hates having his hair a mess and uses special products to maintain his waves and keep his blond hair looking shiny. Amy always tells him he loves the smell of his shampoo, making Russell smile every time she compliments his hair.

😭 A headcanon about the worst thing that happened to them

When Brad Belinsky kidnaped Russell, he was nearly strangled to death by the hypnotized strongman. When Brad captured him in a headlock, he squeezed Russell’s throat so tightly that he cut off the profiler’s oxygen supply. Russell struggled to get free by hitting Brad’s arm, but his attacks did nothing against the wall of muscle. Thankfully, Brad lightened up after he put a gun to his head, but Russell struggled to breathe until he was rescued. The following day, he woke up to a bruise across his throat, and he covered it with makeup to prevent worrying his teammates.

😶 A random headcanon

He’s lactose intolerant, and that’s one of the main reasons why no one is allowed to make him tea: they use regular milk instead of an alternative. The first time Amy took him to get ice cream, he didn’t know how to tell her he couldn't eat it. Thankfully for his bowels, the shop had lactose-free options, so he was safe. After that, Amy always ensures she takes him to shops with lactose-free options and keeps a tub of his favourite ice cream in her freezer for when he visits.

🧸 A headcanon about their childhood

As a child, Fili didn’t have many friends, at least not many friends who weren't also his cousins. Due to being larger than the other kids in his classes, his obsession with plants, and being hospitalized on and off, no one tried being his friend. He did have one really good friend, a best friend, as he loved calling them. Sadly, they didn’t live in Ireland, but the two met when Fili’s friend was visiting Ireland with their family, and they became pen pals. Fili always looked forward to getting their letters and replying to them. The two are still friends to this day, and after Fili moved to the US, they were able to meet again.

He loves singing Irish folk songs. Sometimes, it's just humming, but if he really gets into it, he’ll start singing softly. Fili usually does it when he gets lost in his work, but also to fill the silence around him. Occasionally, he’ll forget the full lyrics, so he’ll just repeat the same line over and over. But it makes him happy so others don’t mind listening to repeats.

💝 A headcanon about their love language

Fili’s love language is acts of affection. He loves doing little things that make people happy and vice versa, even if it's simply cleaning the dish. However, his other way of showing love is through gift-giving, specifically flowers. He loves growing people’s favourite flower(s) and watching people’s happiness when they receive them. He always gives his Starlight new flowers for the special vase in their kitchen, and it's never without a beautiful bouquet.

💔 An angsty headcanon

Fili never thought he would find love. One of his biggest dreams was to find someone to spend the rest of his life with and to start a family with them. And while he did have some good relationships during his early twenties, none ever lasted. Something always brought the relationships to an end, and Fili began to believe he was destined to be alone… But then he met his Starlight, and it was as if the (pun intended) stars had finally aligned, and fate decided it was time for him to meet his soulmate. Eventually, his family would grow, and Fili couldn't be happier. He wishes he could tell his past self not to worry and that everything would work out when the time was right.

🎭 A headcanon about what they lie about

Fili is a very honest man and doesn’t lie much (except about being a Mage, but that’s for obvious reasons). However, one secret he will NEVER admit is that he lied to his parents in high school to attend a party. While they were out of town for the weekend, Fili lied and said he stayed home and studied for exams when they asked him what he did while they were gone. Fili vowed never to tell them that he went to the party since they didn’t like the classmate who hosted it, and besides, he didn’t have fun and left early anyway. Hopefully, they never find out the truth…

🖕 A headcanon relating to anger

While very much a “gentle giant,” Fili can get angry when the situation warrants it or if someone pushes him to anger. His anger is often represented as cold and intimidating as he tries not to yell or get violent. He knows his size is already threatening to others, and even if he’s angry, he doesn’t want to traumatize anyone. But that doesn't mean he won't use it to his advantage when he wants to. If you anger him enough and try to threaten him, Fili WILL put you in your place and make sure you know never to mess with him, his family, or his friends again.

(And he doesn't even need to use magic to do that, but it does help get his point across easier!)

😭 A headcanon about the worst thing that happened to them.

When he was captured by SOMBRA and put under the control of the inhibitor chip, Fili was almost always aware of what was happening around him and what his body was being forced to do. Watching SOMBRA experiment on him, force him to fight their recruits, and being in constant pain caused Fili to start dissociating as a way to try and cope with everything. Even after being rescued, he still dissociates due to his trauma, but thankfully, not as often or for as long.
