If you know me, I believe that everyone deserves rights, no matter who they are, how they identify, who they love, etc. The type of hate that we see now is only going to increase and I cannot stand by and not say anything. My page will always be a safe space for everyone, no matter what. I wrote this partially to comfort myself, but now I am posting it for everyone else who also needs this. To my friends who are going to be affected by this, I am so sorry that this country has failed you. I am sorry that your rights will be affected by this. I am sorry that people carry this immense amount of hate and don’t know how to mind their own business. Know this; My page will be a safe space for you to be yourself, even in this horrible time. You have someone in your corner who will not judge you and cares for your overall well being. We may not know each other, but I support you.

You lay in your bed, thinking about life. It’s a tough pill to swallow. There are no words to describe the devastation you feel for your friends and family. You continue to stare up at the ceiling, thinking about how much you wished Bucky was home.

Bucky had left a few days prior on a mission. While it shouldn’t be much longer, you still wished he was home. You wished that you could lay in his arms and cry while he held you, telling you that he would do everything in his power to try to help you.

You are so lost in thought, you don’t hear the front door to your apartment open. 

Bucky quietly opens the door, hoping to not disturb you. He gently locks the door and takes off his boots, leaving them by the front door. Alpine is the first to greet him, rubbing against his leg. 

Bucky picks her up to pet her, giving her a gentle kiss on the top of her head. “Hey girl, is she still in bed?”

Alpine purrs to say yes and rubs herself on Bucky’s chest. Bucky frowns slightly but he knew you would be like this. He walks to your shared bedroom, knocking on the door.

“Doll?” He asks tentatively.

Your heart jumps before you turn your head. “Hey, Buck.” You whisper with a small smile and tears in your eyes.

Bucky gently puts Alpine on the bed and cuddles up right next to you. “I’m so sorry, Doll.”

You only nod your head and turn your body to be engulfed by him, wrapping your leg around his waist. “You just being here is helping.”

Bucky doesn’t say anything, only rubbing your back and kissing your temple as you cry in his arms. If there was anything he could do, he would do it. But that’s not possible and he wants to destroy everything because of it.

“I got you, Doll. You can cry, scream, punch, do whatever you need to do.”

You shake your head. “I just need to be with you.”

Bucky nods. “Then we can lay here and waste the day away. Have you eaten?”

You shake your head once more. “No.”

Bucky frowns slightly. “Doll, you need to eat. It’s almost 3 pm.” Alpine meows in agreement.

“I know, I just couldn’t pull myself out of bed.” You reach for Alpine and she lays between you and Bucky, purring at her favorite humans.

“Ok, well do you want to order food?”

You shake your head and scrunch your face. “I feel like if I eat, I’m going to throw up.”

Bucky looks you in the eyes. “Baby, I know. But you have to eat. How about I make you some toast? It’ll fuel you and isn’t super heavy.”

You nod. “Yeah, ok.”

Bucky kisses your forehead. “I know Doll, but we’ll get through this. I will do everything in my power to make sure that you’ll be ok.”

Of the three brothers, Tommy and Arthur are the most affected by the war, than John, that we can see, because SK focused more on the two of them and not so much on John.

But we can also see the violence in him, how he enjoys cutting people's eyes, and he loves to fight. He has no problem cheating on Esme with other women, he doesn't feel guilty, and he started, along with Lizzie, the war with the Changrettas, precisely because of his ex. After the tragedy, he did not feel guilty, and instead of accompanying Tommy, what he did was provoke him.

Likewise, sometimes he had good intentions, and although the relationship with Esme could be a little toxic, I really liked them both.

Arthur is the most affected, of the three, by the violence that he carries inside, from killing the poor boy, and every time they fought, a wild animal that he carries inside would come out. One of the stories that I liked the most in the show was the one between Arthur and the boy's mother. It was shocking and we were able to see up close how the Shelbys affect people, forever, because that mother will never be able to get over losing her son and in that way.

Also the relationship with Linda, at the beginning, we see a woman with good intentions, a Catholic woman, who is sure that she will be able to heal Arthur, and get the violence out of him, by the end of the relationship, we see that it was Arthur the one who changed Linda, bringing her darkness to the surface. From a loving relationship, to a toxic relationship with physical and verbal violence. In the end Linda had no other solution than to point a gun at her husband, wishing for his death.

And then there's Tommy, the war continued on his mind, so much so that he could hear the shovels on the wall. He used the drug to silence his mind, but he still couldn't. A man who is not afraid of death, because he is already dead, and has no reason to live, lives because he doesn't care. Violent like his brothers.

Until he meets Grace, and she changed his life. I really like how Steven Knight and Cillian Murphy talk about Grace, saying that "she is Tommy's savior, even though he doesn't deserve it". "He felt like he was healing with her." Neither the drug nor the family, nor any other woman, could achieve, what she achieved, give him a little of the peace that Tommy had lost in that war. She silenced his demons, he didn't hear the shovels on the wall and he could finally sleep, if she was by his side.

I think she's the only one who reached that point, because neither Esme nor Linda managed to reach that high point with John and Arthur. Tommy did feel, for a short time, what it means to be a normal man again, what it means to have peace of mind.

But she died and so died his peace and the only humanity he had left. Her death was a trauma even greater than the war. Because where the shovels were on the wall, it was now replaced by the sound of Grace's last breath. And sometimes his hallucinations. And that's when we see how little by little he becomes more violent and more toxic.

He marries again, and his marriage is quite similar to that of Arthur and Linda.

Lizzie, like Linda, have the fantasy that they can change them, they believe they are saviors, but it is a fantasy, it is a lie, that they tell themselves, in order to stay in that marriage and for it to make sense. At the end of both marriages, it was them, Tommy and Arthur, who changed them, bringing the darkness they always carried inside to the surface. .The two, at some point in their marriage, ended up pointing a gun at their husbands. That's how dark and toxic the two marriages became.

I believe that we can see the traumas of the three brothers through their marriages. And I think that for Tommy, the death of Grace, and for Arthur, the death of John, were the traumas that led them to increase and worsen the first one, the war.

Chapter 1 :

When they had entered the luxurious home of Feyre and her sisters, Tamlin and Lucien made themselves invisible with their power and were surprised to find that Rhysand and his two brothers did the same. They hid in the shadows of the great hall to avoid worrying Feyre's two sisters.

Nesta was at the top of the stairs and Elain was facing Feyre, but Feyre was just looking for the one person she really came for. The one person who always really loved her : Luxiana.

“She's not here,” says Nesta bitterly. 

The older sister knew she'd done nothing to deserve Feyre's affection, but to see her enter her home, unannounced, just to look for Luxiana, made her angry. 

“Where is she?” asked a worried Feyre.

Tamlin put an invisible hand on the young Archeron's shoulder to remind her of his presence and to show her his affection. He was there for her and he understood how much Feyre cared for Luxiana. All she did was talk about her, to the great despair of Tamlin, who hated the blonde who is his wife's best friend. 

This girl had managed to get through all the magical defenses of his court to infiltrate his palace. She was only a human, yet she'd been smarter than Tamlin the day she'd come for her best friend. If Feyre had followed her then, the curse might never have been broken and Tamlin and her court would still have that cursed mask on their faces.

Feyre had no time to receive a reply from anyone before the front door of the Archerons' manor, behind the fae, opened.

All eyes turned to see a blonde woman with hair so light it was almost white, rushing into the great hall.

Rhysand, Cassian and Azriel, so far bored by the scene unfolding before them, froze. Their breaths caught in their chests and their eyes widened. In front of them, closing the door, stood the most beautiful woman they'd ever met of any species. Before them stood their soulmate. 

They were sure of it. Rhys had to use all his calm and control not to release his power and reveal himself at the risk of frightening everyone. Cassian trembled and had to take a step back. Azriel was petrified, his heart frozen and his breathing stopped. 

For the three Illyrians, it was as clear as the starry night sky in their court. They never thought they'd be sure at first glance that they'd met their soulmate, but they were. It was their instincts that drew them to her, their bodies that burned with the desire to touch her, their magics that boiled and exploded in her presence and their thoughts that screamed that she was their soulmate.

A bond was forged between them four. A golden thread perceptible only in their minds and magics. A link that connected them directly to this woman. A link that connected the three of them to a human. 

Suddenly, they realized. A feeling, a certainty assured  it to them.  As if it had been obvious all along, as if they always had the answer at their fingertips without ever really knowing it. Fate brought them together, made them best friends and brothers to give them the same soulmate.  Everything they ever experienced, their relationship and their unbreakable bond with their brothers went far beyond simple affection. They were simply destined to be together and to be brothers, for her. For this woman. Everything had led them to this moment. To her. 

She was their mate. 

She held her pale pink petticoats in her hands and her breathing was jerky as if she'd just been running. Her arms were bare and her corset of the same pattern as those petticoats was the only layer of clothing she wore on her back. Her long hair was gathered in a roughly undone braid and her breath was visible. She must have gone out unprotected in this freezing cold, and her flushed cheeks under the light freckles that paced her nose and cheekbones only confirmed their assumptions. 

The young woman was shaking all over her body, and if Rhysand, Cassian and Azriel hadn't been so petrified by the shock, they would have thrown themselves on her to warm her up. 

Despite her obvious coldness, the girl raised an electric blue gaze at Feyre, finally noticing the presence of someone in front of her. Her eyes weren't even directed at them, yet Rhysand, Cassian and Azriel felt as if they were electrocuted. These blue circles enchanted them and they only wanted her to look at them with it.

The young woman's arms released her petticoats and fell limply down her body. Her eyelids widened and her mouth opened. Tears began to bead at the corners of her eyes, which shone with a thousand sparkles.

“Feyre,” she breathed with a rush.

“Luxiana,” cried Feyre, taking a step towards her best friend.

“Luxiana.” The name echoed in the minds of the three brothers like an enchanting spell, filling them with a bunch of new feelings. She seemed to be the answer to all their questions. Luxiana. Luxiana. Luxiana. They wanted to touch her, feel her, talk to her, make her laugh, possess her and love her. 

Luxiana lunged at Feyre, jumping on her and taking her in her arms. Feyre grabbed her best friend and spun her around. Their laughter rose up in the hall and quickly filled the space, bouncing off the walls.

But it was in the bodies and souls of Rhysand, Cassian and Azriel that Luxiana's laughter resonated the most. The sound vibrated them from side to side. They were almost on their knees before this girl when she hadn't even spoken to them yet. 

Luxiana put her foot down and moved far enough away from Feyre to admire her face. Feyre was slightly taller, as Luxiana first noticed. She frowned for a moment in incomprehension, but nothing could dampen her joy at seeing the best friend she'd never thought she'd find again. Her heart felt like it had found its other half.

“You're here.” Luxiana sobbed. “You're okay.” 

Big tears dripped down the blonde's flushed cheeks, and the same were streaming down Feyre's face. Luxiana took Feyre's head in her hands to touch it, to make sure her best friend was really there, in front of her. The hood that almost completely covered Feyre's face fell back. Luxiana didn't notice her best friend's changed face right away, too focused on trying to verify that it wasn't a dream, but Luxiana's fingers met Feyre's pointed ears. 

Luxiana petrified. She lost her smile almost instantly as she stepped back sharply. Surprise and fear distorted her face as she stared at what she thought was a stranger with the same features as her best friend.

“Who are you?” asked Luxiana with a gleam of panic in her eyes.

It was a fae standing in front of her, and she took on her best friend's features to fool her. 

Elain's exclamation of surprise, forcing her to take a step back and clamp her hand over her mouth, Nesta's wide eyes and then her grimace of disgust, as well as Luxiana's fear, tore Feyre's heart apart. 

Nesta hurried down a few steps, but stopped when she saw Luxiana cross the room in a blink to position herself in front of Elain to protect her. 

At the sight of this gesture, Feyre's sobs accentuated and she cried loudly. She would never hurt her three sisters, and it killed her that her new form made them think otherwise.

Rhysand, Cassian and Azriel could only admire the bravery of this young human woman who had just noticed a fae in her home and had stepped in to protect one of the girls. 

“It's me, your best friend. I swear,” Feyre implored. 

She slowly reached out a hand to her three sisters facing her.

“Please,” she begged.

Luxiana relaxed a little. The pain she could see in this fae’s eyes was far too real to be fake, and she couldn't understand why a fae would pretend to be her best friend as a fae and not as a human.

“Prove it,” ordered Luxiana, lifting her chin and looking at the fae suspiciously. “What did we do on June fifth, two years ago, that only Feyre and I can know about?”

Despite her tears, Feyre laughed.

“What happened in that barn must stay in that barn,” she laughed, her eyes shining.

Luxiana took a deep breath. That fae was her best friend. She started to cry again, this time from sadness. What could have happened to her little Feyre for her to turn into a fae? She must have suffered so much.

“Feyre,” cried the blonde, throwing herself back into her arms. “What's happened to you?”

“I'll explain everything,” promised Feyre, pulling her hood back over her head. 

Luxiana took her by the hand and led her into the living room, where she seated Feyre on the sofa and settled down beside her, never breaking contact. Her two sisters followed at a distance, and finally sat down at the opposite of them, on the other side of the small living-room table, still looking at her with shock and suspicion.

Out of the corner of her eye, Feyre saw the door open discreetly, indicating that Tamlin and the others had disappeared to leave them the privacy of their reunion. Feyre felt relieved for a moment; she didn't want to have to talk about what she'd been through under the mountain in front of the lord of the night court, whom she didn't like very much.

Feyre explained everything that had happened to her in great detail. Her imprisonment, the murders, Rhysand, her death, her resurrection... everything.  She forced herself to fight back the feelings of anguish and sadness that compressed her stomach at the memories that flooded her mind as she talked about the events.

Nesta remained impassive throughout, but a glimmer of pity lingered in her eyes. Elain was still surprised, but her eyebrows were furrowed with sadness. That said, it was Luxiana's reaction that tore Feyre's heart. She had placed her hand over her mouth and although she hadn't interrupted her throughout, silent tears had never stopped flowing down her cheeks. Her eyes were wide and pure guilt reigned in there.

Luxiana felt guilty. If she'd listened to herself, if she'd followed her, she could have joined her under the mountain, she could have saved her. Luxiana had promised herself she would always protect the people she loved, and she failed with Feyre. 

Luxiana threw herself into Feyre's arms and apologized, crying her eyes out. The hearts of the two best friends felt as if they were being torn apart with such force that a real pain in their chests almost made them fold in two. 

Feyre refused her apology, stipulating that she had no regrets and that everything was better now. When the two had calmed down and stopped crying, Feyre asked for their help. 

Nesta initially refused to receive the queens and other immortals in her home, stipulating that it would destroy their reputation and a marriage between Elain and a man. Feyre might have been concerned, but she knew that Luxiana would never have let her sister marry an evil man.

“Nesta,” scolded Luxiana with a stern face. “We've got to help Feyre, there will be no wedding or anyone to celebrate it if this king manages to destroy the wall!”

Feyre had noticed that Luxiana no longer looked at her sisters with the same animosity as before, and although she was relieved by this realization, a part of her that told herself that the three of them had grown closer in her absence was jealous. Jealous that Luxiana had managed to be loved by her sisters more than she had. Jealous that her sisters were stealing her best friend.

“Lux is right,” Elain whispered to her big sister. “Feyre has helped us all these years, now it's up to us to return the favor.”

Nesta huffed, then agreed. They even agreed to meet the fae who had accompanied Feyre for further details.

christ sometimes I just wanna. steal a time machine & go back & sit down next to my 9-year-old self and just like. let them pull out their pokemon card binder & gush about their holographic gyarados or whatever. I'd just smile & ask questions about motherfukcing bulbasaur & tell my kid self that I thought they were a neat person, & someday they'd find other people who thought so too.

1) Night and Cross!

Night is actually very clingy once he's a teen. He doesn't usually realize it, but around the castle he'll snake to be closer to his Knights so long as there's no one he needs to keep his composure infront of is nearby. Cross is the one who's not used to physical touch (when it's not Ink ofc) so Night in his personal bubble makes his heart melt but also scares tf out of him <3

2) Error and Night's Meeting!

Error was carrying his whole life on his back and trying not to get arrested for unintentional property damage at this point, so when he saw the chance to get back at his brother and prove he was strong enough? Yeah, he got that on chance instantly. And was VERY smug when Nightmare chose him. (Also, Error is wearing gloves, so less Haphephobia)

3) Dream and Blue designs!

I think these are good tentative designs! Dream probably has a more regal fit, but he likes to play up that rugged exile look- He's inspired by Archers, while Blue takes on that classic Knightly-vibe. Their equipment is mostly stolen from Night's troops or brought with them from Blue's home kingdom.

Also, Dream is approx Killer's height at this point, shorter than Cross and *much* shorter than Apple!Nightmare. (Hc that Skeletons tend to be tinier in stature thanks to weird monster beauty standards. Horror and Geno's fam are outliers.)

4) Horror and Dust designs!

Horror is naturally a very *large* monster. He's very malnourished when Nightmare meets him, but by the time he's a Knight Nightmare has made sure that's no longer the case. He actually loves comfy, simple clothes, but to play up the whole 'strong mysterious' bit he wears a more barbaric Knight's garb. He doesn't mind acting scary, it's more fun that way :]. Dust is very very small, and envies horror sometimes for his size, but his tiny stature let's him control his body and move a lot quicker. He's very much based on a rogue, and usually covers the lower part of his face w/ a black cloth, and the upper part w/ his hood or mask. Dust only removes both to bathe, eat, or relax in a safe location. (Ignore that I can't draw the stupid gaster blaster lmao-)

These last two were space-fillers, but Cross and his Borzoi (Windmill, otherwise known as Milly (Killer named her-)) and really bad first wips of Ccino! I think Ccino was a chubby, happy toddler, but lost a lot of 'weight' (bone mass? Magic?) due to stress and pressure and bad eating habits. So it isn't until a while after the Coronation that he starts to relax abd feel safe enough to eat normal meals (Nightmare used to guilt him into eating snacks together, but as his boss (and younger brother) he can encourage it more often). By the time Killer shows he's still not quite healthy, but he's better. As more weight is lifted off his shoulders, the better he is. (That 'beauty' most people saw was a more stereotypical slimness, but Killer never stopped seeing Ccino as beautiful-) I think he never looked traditionally underweight, so no one noticed, and it was only much later that Night processed it. (And maybe it's why Dream hardly recognized him later on-)

certainly feeling some things about the fact that simon. bullied edwin, yes, because he clocked him being gay. but not out out of hatred for him because of it. instead it was because he thought edwin was cute and felt sad and confused by edwin not paying attention to him. because simon is also gay. that is some beautiful and tragic storytelling and such a good way to come back around and give edwin some amount of closure on that chapter of his life wow

thank you for this question, i really love it. to me, it's a number of things, starting with that the show cares deeply about hank and takes him seriously in a way that the culture doesn't. in a way, yes, he's their dog and pony show with the funny one-liners and the salacious pull. but the arc of the series is unequivocally aligned with him and his desires and his needs and his values.

hank wants to be with his family, wants to be better for them, wants to not let them down- and the show needs him to fail at all of those things. for the dog and pony of it all, for their viewership and for their thesis and for the food in their mouths, but it simultaneously feels bad that he is failing. simultaneously knows that this isn't what he wants, and that it's sad. and it can be as simple as a dream sequence or a look or a quiet final scene, but every single episode is ultimately going to remind you that everything you're laughing at is a loss.

which, like i said at the top, speaks to a level of respect that the show had for the character that is just gone in discussions of the series. they take the time to recognize that he is missing something. he is losing something and he is without everything that means anything to him, this is the cost. equally important, duchovny respects that character and understands the same.

i was listening to an interview last night (trish you heard this) where he was speaking with some podcast dudebros and one of the hosts said that he always wanted to be just like hank moody, and then he made some "bad decisions" and got there, and he doesn't like it. and duchovny said that every time people come up to him saying "i'm just like hank moody," he says "i'm sorry."

men watch and they want to be just like hank moody and women watch and they want to fuck hank moody so bad, and all of you miss what the source comprehends: that it's an irreparable deficit.

other than that, i feel like what roots that show is that it really isn't all that cynical. not in the way that it could be. and the show believes in hank.

there is a lot of kindness and hope (often false hope) that runs underneath most every relationship and interaction and dynamic in the series and i really really appreciate that about it. it's like in the pilot when hank is being mean and he wants marcy to yell at him and she just says "go home, honey. sleep it off. tomorrow's another day."

there's always a little bit of understanding and grace amongst the crazies and i think there's something really special about that

Might be a hot take but a major character’s death is really only as good as the weight and the treatment that the narrative gives it. Sure, any author has the ability to write death as they see fit. But whether the consumer (of any given form of media) is actually able to emotionally connect and resonate with the departure of someone who has occupied a good chunk of narrative space very heavily depends on how it’s treated within the story. If it’s a major character, the narrative needs enough built-in breathing space. As in, the consumer doesn’t have to fill in the blanks as to how the death impacted the plot or the remaining characters. Let the narrative do that for them, and that would actually allow the consumer to better react and relate to that major death (sadness, anger, joy, etc). Allow the rest of the characters (who were impacted by the deceased) to react to their parting. Let them engage with the death in a manner that helps justify the character’s inclusion in the narrative to begin with. Make it clear how the character’s life and (especially) their death relate to the larger themes of the story. Because most consumers aren’t stupid. We don’t want our hands held at every waking moment, but we also don’t want our investment in a story to be insulted just for the sake of a cheap shock. Give us time to breathe and grieve. And respect that we have put in a lot of emotional investment in a story and its characters, and we deserve to have that acknowledged.
