so bitter!
masterlist | requests are open!
pairing:Â clapton davis x reader
warnings: nsfw content!!!
there should be a law against wearing tank tops in school. actually, there was - just one that only applied to girls.
which meant that clapton davis could walk around with his arms looking like that.
you were staring from two cafeteria tables away, eyes unable to stay off clapton for longer than a few seconds. your self-control was being tested, this torture a punishment from the universe.
you really should've never let him fuck you.
you don't realize your name is being called until your friend is snapping her fingers in your face, forcing your eyes to snap back to her (though you keep the distant outline of clapton, just to the left of her head, in your peripheral).
"huh?" you ask, willing your eyes not to flicker back - there was still a chance for you to dig yourself out of this without any of your friends ever knowing.
"nevermind," your friend sighs, rolling her eyes before giving you a look that you avoid by picking at the food on your tray. "who were you staring at?" she turns around, searching the cafeteria for a mere hint of the person who had captivated your attention.
"i wasn't staring at anyone," you lie smoothly, shoving a spoonful of whatever's on your tray to mask any strange inflections of your voice. "i just spaced out."
"you've been doing that a lot lately," your friend says, clearly not convinced.
you roll your eyes in response, grateful when your other friend finally escapes the lunch line and rejoins your group, the topic quickly switching over to an upcoming calc quiz.
though talking about calc makes you think of the time clapton made a very impressive 14% on his test, presenting the paper to you with a grin that should've indicated something at least higher than a C.
"seriously, our class average would be, like, 20% higher if it weren't for you," you cross your arms with a small huff, warm breath making a small cloud in the cold air. clapton skates slowly beside you, weaving around without even having to look at the road under or in front of him - no, his eyes won't leave you.
clapton just grins again. he loves seeing you get worked up about the things he does, the concern you have for him presenting itself in indirect ways that make clapton's heart ache for more.
he's beginning to guide his skateboard to the right, in the opposite direction you'll be going, ready to wave goodbye, when you stop.
"what are you doing?" clapton doesn't think your crossed arms are just to protect yourself against the cold.
"going... home?" clapton sounds confused, but his heart is starting to pick up at the increasing possibility of an alternative suggestion.
"to do what? not study, i'm sure. you just don't learn your lesson, clapton."
clapton holds his bottom lip tightly between his teeth, though it's not enough to contain his smile. "maybe i need a better teacher?"
your eyes roll but your lips smile. you turn your back to clapton, starting off in the direction of your house, smiling as you hear the sound of wheels rolling against the road following behind you.
you get about ten minutes of studying done before you're in clapton's lap, one of his hands under your shirt and the other creating a nasty crease at the bottom of his forgotten calc test as clapton holds on tightly to the edge of your desk for balance.
where did that test go? you remember clapton's hand slipping, knocking a few things on your desk over as he steadied you, removing his hold on you to take off the shirt he had been wearing-
you cross your legs, heat in your face as you will those memories away. there's a heat on your back as your body remembers how clapton had touched you that night. you check your friends carefully, watching them engage in an intense conversation about whether or not they could've pulled stu macher, before allowing your eyes to glance around the cafeteria casually, hoping to catch at least one more glimpse of clapton while avoiding getting caught.
your eyes pass over his spot once, twice, before the fact that he is gone settles in. an alarm in your head goes off - clapton from a distance is safe, but on the move, location unknown? clapton is unpredictable.
you're busy scanning the cafeteria for that obnoxious teal shirt, too focused on making sure clapton davis is a safe distance away to notice your friends go quiet, looking over at the boy who'd taken a seat beside you.
"hey," that stupidly smooth voice says and your eyes calmly shift to land on clapton. you're careful not to visibly react - you can hear your friends already. "you and clapton?" you could see the looks they'd give you, purely out of concern. because really, when has clapton davis ever been serious about anything? you weren't sure that'd suddenly change for you.
it's too quiet, clapton's head moving curiously closer, more of his face coming into your line of sight. your eyes betray you, landing on his flexed arm that rests on the cafeteria table and you're up, rolling your eyes and huffing as you usually do at clapton - though this time he feels it more personally, mouth slightly agape as he watches you walk away. usually he does something to deserve this, winding you up on purpose more often than not. but clapton is feeling as clueless as he feels in chemistry, left dumbfounded by your avoidance of him. had he done something?
guilt eats you up immediately, merciless as it twists your stomach into knots. you sit in the bathroom, on a closed toilet seat, loud chattering all around you as you stare at your IMs with clapton.
your fingers type and delete, type and delete. god, whatever. the bell rings and you bite down that sick feeling, deciding you'll apologize to clapton when you inevitably see him in the hall.
of course, you chicken out. you can't even look at clapton, much less talk to him, a voice in the back of your head convincing you you'll slam him against the lockers and make out with him right there, in front of everyone. it was probably telling you the truth, anyway, your desire to get your hands on clapton outweighing any rational thoughts that included public decency. god, what was wrong with you?
so you avoid clapton in the halls. and in class. and walking out of class. and walking out of school. you're almost running home, knowing clapton could easily catch up and confront you right there. there was really no telling what you were capable of with him in that stupid fucking shirt.
though you still feel sorry. you conjure up images of what clapton could've looked like as you blatantly ignored him and in each one, he looks heartbroken.
well, it wasn't like you were dating.
though maybe a small part of you wished you were.
clapton continues to bother you as the sun sets and the moon takes its place. he won't let you concentrate on the essay due next monday or on the chemistry lab you had to write a reflection on. everything reminds you of him, from the neon green bracelet of his he's left on your desk to the book he'd flipped through while sitting in the chair you're currently occupying, feet propped up on your desk as if your space was also his. and it was, in a way. even your bed has been tainted permanently with bits of clapton, no amount of laundry able to rid your sheets of clapton davis's signature scent. there's small marks in the wood of your headboard, too, just to make sure you wouldn't be able to trick yourself into forgetting clapton had ever been in your room (and on top of you).
you give up on work, brushing your teeth and saying goodnight to your parents unusually early, hoping you'll fall asleep quickly and forget all about clapton. but something won't let you sleep and the lack of distractions only makes you think of clapton even more.
you'd really like to pull your hair out. angrily, you reach for your phone, hit on clapton's stupid picture, start punching the small buttons on your phone repeatedly until a message sends before you can even deliberate.
come over. - 11:39 p.m
read. almost instantly. no response. you're not sure if this means clapton will be here in a few minutes or not, though you're not really sure you can blame him if he ignores you like you had ignored him.
but then your phone buzzes and a new message alert has appeared.
outside - 11:43 p.m
you hear footsteps outside and you instinctively shove your phone under your pillow, turning over and pretending to be asleep as the door of your room creaks open, only for a moment, closing again when your parent is satisfied with what they see.
you wait until the footsteps recede, envisioning the route from your room to your parents', quietly counting the seconds until you're sure it's safe.
shit prnts r still awake - 11:45 p.m wait? - 11:45 p.m
sure - 11:45 p.m
the thought of clapton only a few feet away, separated only by a wall and a window, excites you, heart racing as you wait 5 minutes, 10, calculating how long it'd realistically take your parents to fully fall asleep. you're trying to be patient but you really can't wait another minute and you can't imagine how clapton has managed it.
ok - 12:02 a.m
you don't even wait for clapton to read the message, jumping out of bed to open the window and push the screen loose, wiggling it out of place and sticking your head out, searching the dark night for clapton.
he makes an appearance as he rises from his seat against the side of your house, letting you help him as he gets one leg over your windowsill, one of his hands resting on it while another hangs onto yours for support. he swings his other leg in, jumping softly into your room and softly shutting the now-screenless window behind him.
and there he is again, in a black graphic muscle tee and sweatpants, thoroughly distracting you without even meaning to. at least, you assumed he didn't mean to.
clapton turns back to you and you wonder how he's grinning after the way you'd treated him at school, after you'd made him wait outside for seventeen minutes with no guarantees of sex.
and that's when you realize that's what you like about clapton - even now, after you demanded he come over at midnight, after you have had sex in this room more than a handful of times, clapton expects nothing. he does not think he has a right to your body, does not move to touch or kiss you, does not assume anything. he simply stands there, still smiling, waiting, quietly wondering what it is you needed him here for.
you'd really like to kiss him, but you're worried it'll come out softer than you usually kiss clapton.
instead, you hug him.
you've never done that before. but clapton's arms wrap around you naturally, letting you slot against him with a sigh. clapton is uncharacteristically quiet, though you can tell he still doesn't expect anything from you. and that makes you feel even worse.
"i'm sorry," you mumble, shame hot on your face.
"what's that?"
"i'm sorry," you repeat, pulling away from clapton, not realizing he heard you perfectly fine the first time until you see that stupid smile on his face. you frown, hit his unbelievably hard arm. "i'm serious."
"yeah, i bet," clapton jokes, though his smile begins to fade when your eyes start to get angry. "it's fine," he shrugs, hoping to cheer you up before your mood dips to a point of no return.
"it's not." your arms are crossed again, though this time clapton tries to determine how much frustration is directed at him and how much is reserved for yourself.
clapton is close to panicking, pulling your arms apart and quietly willing you not to be upset, realizing he only has a few more chances for his jokes to cheer you up until they will eventually have the opposite effect. "you think i'd lie to you?" he grins easily, still holding on lightly to your wrists, giving you a chance to step out of his grasp if you'd like to.
you wouldn't like to.
you're trying not to get frustrated (or rather, not take it out on clapton, again), exhaling deeply and swinging your arms, still lightly linked with clapton's.
"you'd probably lie to me for five dollars."
clapton scoffs, offended. "five? it'd at least have to be ten."
finally, you crack a smile and a weight on clapton's shoulders lifts.
"wow," you say dryly. "i didn't know i meant that much to you," you laugh through your words, clearly joking.
but now clapton is strangely serious, a side that you've never seen before almost scaring you, clapton's voice so quiet you almost convince yourself you've imagined it all.
"you do."
you're not sure who leaned in first (honestly, probably, you), but your lips are on clapton's and your hands are in his dark curls like you've done too many times before. you're too scared to kiss him softly like you've been dying to, to take your time with him like you've imagined over and over. your pace steadily increases, hands lightly tugging on clapton's hair, his hands slipping in and out of the bottom of your shirt. you can tell he's trying not to make noise by the way his breath catches in his throat when you pull off, breathing heavily. you stare at each other for too long - you finally allow yourself to indulge in what's been on display the entire day, your hands letting clapton know exactly what's been on your mind today.
clapton almost laughs as your hands run up and down his arms, cheeky smile as he flexes underneath your touch. he knew it - he could feel the heat of your stare from across the cafeteria though he'd never been quick enough to catch you.
clapton is about to crack another joke, to tease you about your staring problem, when your mouth is on his again, shutting him up before he could even begin to speak. your kiss is rougher this time, hands balling up the fabric of clapton's airy shirt, until clapton decides he's had enough and pulls away to strip himself of the black-dyed cotton. he pulls you onto your bed, sitting up against your fluffy pillows.
he watches, hungrily now, as you settle into his lap, his breath coming out raspy as you immediately attach yourself to his neck, making marks that might not disappear by monday. clapton wonders what's made you suddenly so possessive, only for a second before your mouth finds a spot that makes clapton whine.
"shhh," you whisper, pressing kisses down clapton's neck as he holds onto your hips, tent in his pants growing with the idea that bruises made by you will linger on his skin even after he leaves.
clapton's hand reaches for your head as you move further away, guiding you gently back to his neck, tilting his head for you. "more, please," he rasps out, too desperate to be embarrassed.
you laugh, thinking he doesn't really mean it, kissing his lips instead. your tongue slips inside his mouth, kisses sloppy and warm as they usually are. clapton's fingers are messing with the waistband of your pajama bottoms and your hands clutch onto the back of his neck.
neither of you care as your noses press into each other, disconnected and reconnected mouths making sounds that make that warm feeling in the pit of your stomach grow.
you roll your hips and clapton fully moans into your mouth, eyes evidently hazy when you pull away for air. your hand slips down to clapton's sweatpants, resting on him gently but refusing to give him anything more. clapton works for it, moving his hips up into your hand, biting his lip to keep from being too loud. you'd almost forgotten how desperately clapton davis craved your touch, craved the feeling of being inside you, doing almost anything you'd tell him just for the feeling of you against him.
you indulge him, tugging on clapton's sweatpants and palming him through his boxers. his face is in your shoulder, quiet moans muffled by you.
clapton is respectful, even now. his hands pull at your shirt but don't take it off. though, his grip on your hips tighten, his face strains. you roll off of him, strip yourself completely. he barely has time to admire you before he pulls his own bottoms off, kicking them off your bed as you grab one of the condoms taped to the top of one of your drawers.
clapton is already starting to drip pre-cum at the sight of you, hurrying to take the foil package from you. he opens it with his teeth, a trick he learned solely to impress you, getting it on with slightly-trembling hands.
you slide back onto your bed, letting clapton kiss you as he gently lies you down on your pillows - always making sure you're comfortable. he climbs on top of you, careful not to drop his weight on top of you, kissing the skin of your shoulders and chest as your hands rest on his toned shoulders. his arms look incredible, hands on either side of your body as clapton lifts himself up.
you let yourself look at him for a second, pulling his face into his hands. you watch his slightly-confused expression, his eyes eventually focusing on yours. not your body, not your lips. he's staring straight into you, asking no questions about your sudden need to admire him. and then he leans in, placing an unusually gentle kiss on your lips, feather-light and almost not there at all.
and then he's asking you if you're ready, like he always does, placing his mouth against your shoulder to muffle his moans as he carefully slips inside of you and finally gives you what you've been wishing for all day.
clapton lies next to you after you finish, condom tied up and thrown out, both of you cleaned up with the help of wet wipes and towels you kept handy.
clapton was unusually quiet and you were beginning to tally all the times he had acted out of character today. usually, he'd be cracking jokes, trying to kiss you obnoxiously, because when has clapton davis ever been serious about anything?
not tonight, though. he's starting to worry you with his silence. did he fall asleep? no, you hear him shift beside you. you dare to look over and see clapton on his side, head propped up on an arm. he's biting the inside of his cheek, a nervous habit you recognize by now.
you lay there for a few moments, anxiety almost fully settled in before clapton finally speaks.
"you know," clapton starts, voice nervous like you've never heard it before. you turn to give him your full attention, though you're not sure if that makes it better or worse. "you know... you know i like you, right?"
that takes you by surprise. it shouldn't; obviously clapton has to like you to some degree to be here. but if he's saying what you think he's saying-
"like... i like you. like, i want to take you out on a date. jesus, how many times am i gonna say like?"
you can't help but laugh, clapton rubbing his forehead with his palm.
clapton smiles again, more familiar now, but it's still a little nervous. if you'd rest against his chest right now, you're sure you'd hear his heart racing.
you're biting your lip, too, not sure how to reply. because the feelings you've realized you have for clapton terrify you. not out of shame or embarrassment, but of pure fear that clapton won't take anything between the two of you seriously.
you're too quiet and clapton has always hated the silence, a need to fill it pushing him to take on the role of class clown.
"stupid, right? that's, like, the one thing that wasn't supposed to happen." clapton laughs his usual charming laugh, as if the entire thing was no big deal.
he almost fooled you.
"i like you, clapton davis," you admit out loud for the first time after a moment, catching clapton himself by surprise. "i mean, i seriously hate how much i like you."
clapton laughs again, but you can tell it's genuine this time. he turns to you again, watching your face but detecting no deception. he knows you're mostly joking, but he doesn't have to ask why the part that isn't joking said that.
he knows how careless he can be. his go-with-the-flow attitude let him accept whatever you'd give him, but it'd almost driven you away, too. as clapton realized how much he really cared, you'd thought that he had not really cared at all, pushing him away as you discovered your own growing love to try and prevent yourself from getting hurt. it was a real mess.
"i, um," clapton starts, not quite great with words that aren't strung together to make people laugh. "really care about you. in the way that i'd stand outside your window for an hour if you wanted me to and i wouldn't even ask for sex." clapton cringes at the example but to his relief, you laugh. "and i can't promise you i won't hurt you but i fully give you permission to, like, chop my dick off or something if i do."
"clapton-"
"i'm serious!" clapton laughs, relieved that you're laughing along with him. "i'll sign a waiver. just let me take you out on an actual date?" he asks hopefully, spinning one of his bracelets around his wrists nervously.
clapton grins so wide his cheeks hurt when you nod, smiling as he is. "yeah, okay."
he doesn't wait to long to cup your face and kiss you, making sure his mouth presses against yours slowly and carefully, trying to pour all the things he can't figure out how to say into the kiss. you seem to get it, letting clapton rub his thumb over your cheek gently and look at you for a few moments after you separate. he wipes the corner of your lips, large fingers dragging along the high points of your face.
"i should go," he says finally, quietly, reluctantly.
"you could go in the morning," you say too quickly. it's risky, but you don't want to let go of clapton just yet.
clapton grins, traces your jaw. "if you insist."
you're rolling your eyes with no hostility, getting up to pull something fresh on, throwing clapton a shirt he'd left that you'd had to lie to your parents about when they spotted it in your hamper.
"i can't believe you didn't know i liked you. i gave you my favorite bracelet," clapton shakes his head in disbelief as he pulls the shirt on and digs for the sweatpants he'd thrown to the ground.
"you didn't give it to me, you left it here," you scoff, climbing back in to bed.
"that's the same thing," clapton insists, picking the neon green bracelet off your desk, heart leaping at the fact that you'd kept it. he climbs in next to you, holding out an expectant hand. you place your arm in it, smiling as you let clapton slide the bracelet onto your wrist.
"there. now i gave it to you."
"yeah, whatever." you pull clapton down next to you, placing your head on his chest while his strong arms wrap around you instinctively. one of his hands reaches up to your shoulder, rubbing up and down soothingly.
"goodnight," you mumble quietly, sleep catching you quickly.
"goodnight," clapton whispers, letting it take him, too.
he'd dream about you like he usually would, but you're already in his arms like he'd always hoped.

Chills Right to the Marrow Part 13
part 1, prev part
Thereâs this feeling at the top of a roller coaster that is meant to excite, to look forward to. Where the exhilaration and adrenaline kicks in and everyone feels like the top of the world. Only for the calm to set in when the ride is over, and the line keeps growing to feel it all again.
If life were a rollercoaster, Dustinâs would be a fucked up one. Where just as the drop finishes, and everything seems to calm down, the machine starts to clink and bring you back up to the top again. Over. And Over. And Over again.
Dustinâs scared that this calm wonât be so calm tomorrow. Or in a year when life gets back to normal again, and the people in hospital are out and better, like it does. Just for it all to go to a burning pile of shitty hell. For Dustin to end up sitting in the hospital chairs again.
Never the bed.
Itâs not that heâs upset that heâs healthy. Itâs not that heâs upset that heâs never had to stay in the hospital for a night. Itâs just the fact that while everyone else seems to get hurt, he stays perfectly fine. And he doesnât know why.
Heâs put himself in dangerous situations. Fights, tunnels, right in front of a fucking demogorgon. In all the scenarios, he should have gotten hurt. There wasnât a book that he read where everyone walked away perfectly fine.
Frodo walked to Mordor and wasnât fine. Neither was Samwise. Dustinâs not a Frodo or a Samwise, maybe heâs a Mary or Pippin. They didnât walk away without a scratch either. His DnD character canât even get out of a battle without dying.
Why is he so okay? Why have his dice always rolled so high?
And why does he seem to be more bothered that this than the people in the hospital beds?
Max is smiling and laughing right now. Sheâs almost like she was last summer. Making fun of them in a way that kinda stung sometimes but mostly was out of love. Not thinking about the fact that she might never ride a skateboard again. Not thinking about the fact that she wonât see the way their faces change as they grow. The way her own face will change as she grows.
Her life has changed in a way that canât be changed back. How is she not having a bigger reaction to this?
âHey,â Max calls out in Dustinâs direction. âCome here, I want to feel your face.â
âHuh?â
Mike groans from across the room. âSheâs been doing it with everyone. Itâs just an excuse to mess with you.â
Max rolls her clouded eyes. âThe blind girl wants to make sure he friends are ok. There are no other ulterior motive here.â
âYouâre just going to poke him in the eye or some shit.â
âMy hands are my eyes now, Michael.â
Mike rolls his eyes, giving Dustin a look like âI warned you.â
Lucas gets up from the chair closest to Max to let Dustin get closer. He leans closer to the bed as Max reaches out her hands to find his face. She pokes around, finding the brim of his hat and pulls it down to his nose.
âIdiot,â Max snorts.
âTold you,â Mike says. Will smacks him in the arm.
Dustin makes a face while fixing his hat, switching seats with Lucas. And then again when El comes in. The room sounding anything like a hospital. Like Mikeâs basement while they are watching movies or hanging out. Like the worst didnât happen and just a week ago, where Max wasnât just told she would be blind forever.
He walks out of the room and heads to Eddieâs. Eddie whoâs awake, but not really. Who opens his eyes and it makes Dustin so happy. Just to see something that resembles him, but isnât just quite it.
Happiness comes and goes so fast that Dustin almost misses it. Overshadowed by this feeling of knowing that nothing is going back to the way it was. Heâll never be the person he was before. None of them will.
Thatâs the worst part of this all. Heâs seen the way that Will became quieter. Different in a way that none of them will really understand. Saw the way that Max shut down after Billy died. Overcome by her grief. How Steve pushes himself so hard he breaks, and Robin tries to forget it all even happened. Saw how pain can cause a person to die.
The doctors still donât know whatâs going to happen when Eddie finishes waking up. They wonât know how long heâll still be here, or what damage is in his body. To his brain. His nerves. If heâll be able to play guitar again. Dustin never even got to see him play a real concert. He wanted to see that.
Time keeps passing and Eddieâs missing it. Classes have restarted and he wonât catch up. Not when heâll still be in recovery for months. He wonât be walking across that stage to get his diploma. He might not even get it at all.
Dustin takes his seat next to Wayne and just looks at Eddie. Canât bring himself to take the book out of his bag and read. Wanting to find any sign that this was all worth it. That the painful hope that Dustin is clinging to isnât dragging him to the bottom. That Eddie will continue to wake up tomorrow.
âYou ok, Dustin?â
âEvery day I come in here and wish he would say something. Anything.â
Wayne nods, as solemn as he always is. âMe too.â
âYouâre back in school now, right? Howâs that going?â
School is a completely different battle. The Hellfire shirt that he wore with pride is now an endless target. The insults that would already be slung his way amplified. Walking through the halls feels like shooting range. Another reminder that he knows a truth that none of them will.
âAs good as youâd expect it to.â
Another nod. Itâs nice to have someone listen to him without trying to fix it. Just let him talk at his own pace without trying to make it better. Make him feel any differently than he does. It brings a comfort to Dustin that he never really knew, or understands.
âWhereâs that book of yours, I was starting to get invested.â
âIâm not sure Iâm up for reading it today.â
Wayne shrugs. âWhy donât I then? I canât do the voices like you or Ed do, but I can read.â
Itâs like Wayne knows the real reason why Dustinâs reading the book. Makes him feel weirdly seen. Like for a moment, someone understood him more than he wanted them too.
Still, he takes the book out of his bag and hands it to Wayne. Watches as he turns to the page and messes up the character names. Take a breath each time one of the weirder ones comes up and sounds it out. Trying his best to get it all right, even though heâs still doing it a little wrong.

Sleepless nights
â°âą 3. Go white boy go
Warnings: like- one swear word?
note: a little longer part but the next part is (hopefully) where things start picking up. but thereâs written parts so donât miss those!
You switched off your phone just in time to see Yuta running up to you. He tossed you his helmet as he climbed up the ramp, taking the spot beside you.
âTook you long enough.â You roll your eyes, pushing the boy off, leaving him to slide back down the damp concrete.
âIt was only a few minutes.â Yuta groans, dusting himself off to climb back up again. His sad attempts at trying to reach the ledge almost made you feel bad for him. Almost.
âHoly shit you suck at this.â
Despite wanting to help him, the better part of you couldnât help but let out a laugh. What else were you supposed to do? You are best friends after all. Laugh first, help after. Thatâs the universal rule for all best friends.
After getting your entertainment from watching the poor boy fail again and again to get a good grip on the ledge, you finally offered him a hand (which he reluctantly took).
âDonât worry, I made sure to get all the good angles.â You flashed your phone at him, swiping to the side to show him all the photos you took of him.
As he takes in the images, Yutaâs faces turn into one of absolute terror. âDelete those right now!â He reaches for the device.
âNever! You look cute in them!â You smack his reaching hand away. âThese are going into my folder!â
âThereâs more?!â He lets out a horrified gasp.
âObviously!â
As Yuta continues to reach for your phone, your phone buzzes. You sneak a glance at it and see a notification from one of your streaming apps.
âtoginu is live now!â
Yuta also sees the notification and stops trying to take your phone, sitting back up and waiting for you to turn on the livestream.
You immediately click on the notification and your brought to the app, the sounds of keys clicking greeting your ears.
The boy continues typing away on his keyboard, occasionally looking at the chat and thousands of messages flood through every second. Looks like you made it in time to watch.
Yuta leaned onto your shoulder, watching your screen. The two of you had an unspoken agreement to watch livestreams together whenever possible.
You turned the volume up and placed the phone next to Yuta before standing up and grabbing your skateboard.
âKeep you updated.â You pushed yourself forward and through the park.
âTime to go.â Yuta stood up, stretching his limbs.
You let out a disapproving groan, flopping backwards onto the cement and staring up into the sky. The sun was slowly rising in the distance, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink.
âDonât wanna do anything today.â You sigh.
Yuta gathered his things and wandered over to you, joining you on the ground and admiring the view. âWe should go before our parents realize weâre gone.â
âYeahâŠâ You sat up, grabbing all of your belongings and stuffing them back into your bag before following Yuta out of the park.
It wasnât long before you reached your house. Yuta pulled into the back as usual for you to easily be able to sneak back into your room via your window.
You gave the boy a quick hug, promising to text him later before running through your backyard towards your room.
âIâll see you in class!â He called out to you before he sped off in the direction of his own house.
âWhat class??â You mumble to yourself as you slide your window open.
As soon as you entered your room, your alarm started going off, telling you to get ready for the day. You look at it in confusion. Your alarm only rings on weekdays.
âTime to get up! You got school!â You hear a voice yelling at you from outside the door, accompanied by a loud banging.
âIâm up!â You yell back.
Now you were not only tired, you had to put up with a whole day of classes. You couldâve sworn it was Sunday.
You had a long day ahead of you.

Chapter 10- Barracuda Mike
Series masterlist
Warnings: small mention of vomit, mentions of alcohol, pretty much it. Not a whole lotta rafe
âJesus- whyâd we even take her with us?â John B asked JJ as they watched you down yet another drink.
âThat- that was my last one, okay?!â You defended, crushing the can and rolling your eyes.âAnd letâs face it, Iâm smarter than you two idiots.â You pointed at them.
âYou dropped out.â JJ retorted.
âOkay, I never said I was book smart. Street smart.â You shrugged. âYou might know calculus but what use is that if you donât know how to get out of a 2000 dollar debt with a drug dealer? Or how to tell which one of your friends is talking shit behind your back? Iâm extremely smart.â
âWh- you know what, nevermind.â John b mumbled to himself. âCan we please get back on topic?â He asked you, you nodding and sitting up now with a sigh.
âËâżË° đ â âč âĄ
âYou actually think heâs gonna get arrested?â Kiara asked Sarah.
âHe canât get arrested. Not now. If heâs locked up, he canât help his dad. I have to fix this. Can you give me a ride to Toppers? Please?â
âYou donât think this plan could make things worse?â
âI donât know. And I donât know whatâs gonna happen with me and John B, but what I do know is I canât just sit by and watch him get arrested while his dadâs abducted. I have to try.â
âËâżË° đ â âč âĄ
The next morning, JB rung the bell on the yard, you and jj stirring at the sound. You groaned, covering your face from the light that came through.
âShit.â You mumbled, feeling a massive hangover. Your head pounded.
John B sighed, listening to nothing but the seagulls squawking.
âItâs something about the dudes face, you know? Like the whole no hard feelings, bro, you know what Iâm saying?â John B spoke to you both, coming across on a skateboard.
âNo hard feelings. Itâs kinda hard not to have hard feelings about that.â
âHeâs a dick, we all know this.â You mumbled to him. âIs there like some Tylenol or something? Iâm dying here.â
âYeah, in the medicine cabinet.â JB nodded over to it. You stood up, stumbling inside and to the bathroom. They watched you go inside, John b turning back to JJ.
âWhatâs her deal?â John B asked
JJ shrugged. âHell if I know. Sheâs been a fucking wreck recently.â He paused.
âWell, I mean sheâs taken care of Luke for like her whole life, now heâs gone. Iâm sure thatâs probably most of it.â John B shrugged.
âNah, something seems off.â JJ mumbled. âLike sheâs hiding something. She doesnât drink like that unless she is.â
âWell, do you really think she can help us when sheâs like that?â John B asked him.
âYeah. I mean, you donât have to like her but you gotta admit, she is one hell of a problem solver. And a fighter.â JJ paused.
âLike.. oh, oh, remember how she got you outta that detention?â Jj snapped his fingers. âAnd how she beat up those kids who pulled out their switchblade on you?â
John B laughed at the memory. âDude, I had the biggest crush on her then.â
âOh, we know. You would invite her over to the Chateau all red faced, stuttering and shit.â He laughed along.
Once the laughter died down, John B spoke up again. âIs she dead or something in there?â
âNah, sheâs probably puking her brains out right now.â
âShould we.. check?â
âAlright.â JJ stood up, opening the door and leaning in as he shouted into the Chateau.
âAre you dead?!â
âNo Iâm not fucking d-â you shouted back, before being cut off with a groan and putting your face back by the toilet bowl.
âYeah. Puking.â JJ spoke, going into the chateau, John B following.
âWell.. anyways, I was thinking⊠passports. We donât have âem.â John B switched up the topic, both boys walking to the kitchen.
You got out of the bathroom.
âTherefore we canât fly commercial. We need other ideas.â
âFake passports?â You suggested. âI know a guy.â
âItâs a good idea but we donât have the time for that.â John B told you, opening the fridge.
âOkay, well, donât you got the money that you took from Portis?â
âI have that to my dad.â
âSo then what about a boat?â JJ suggested. John B sniffed some milk, coughing and putting it back in the fridge, most definitely expired.
âIf we get a boat, maybe we could get down there âcause the HMS⊠yeah. You know about the HMS.â JJ went into the fridge now, âOh! Limbrey, Limbrey has a boat! What if we took that one?â
âYeah, no. She took that back, and the HMS is not gonna make it down to the Port of Spain, so out on the boats.â
You sat on top of the counter, grabbing a glass and using the faucet.
âSo..â you paused, taking a sip of water. âWe donât got any money, and we also donât have a boat that can make it down to South America.â
âGreat.â
âActually, I might know a guy. Iâm onto somethingâŠâ JJ mumbled.
You furrowed your eyebrows hearing the sound of a truck pull up. You looked outside.
âUh-oh.â John B spoke, you looking at him as you both crouched behind the cabinets.
âYou donât start with uh oh, dude. Youâre so negative-â JJ spoke, still standing. You grabbed his arm, yanking him down.
âGet down, shoupe is right out front!â You whisper yelled to him.
âAll right, John B.â He said from outside, all of you crawling and whisper yelling at each other
âYoo-hoo! Anybody home? John B!â
âGo under there! Under there, right now.â You told them both, pointing to a small table.
They managed to hide themselves by uncomfortably managing to fit under. You couldnât fit.
You panicked, jj motioning for you to hurry.
âI canât fit with you two fatasses under there!â You whispered, desperately trying to find anything else. Shoupe began to walk closer and you were running out of time.
You glanced outside, making sure you werenât in view as you stood up and ran as quickly as possible to the nearest room, hiding yourself under the bed.
âI know youâre in there!â Shoupe spoke, now in front of the door.
He knocked on the door, looking inside through the window.
âIf he sees you, itâs game over.â
âI know, okay, J?â
âDonât get that.â
âI know you can hear me in there.â He banged. âYou need to come out and talk to me. Itâll be a whole lot worse if you donât.â He sighed, finally walking away from the door.
âOkey-doke, have it your way! You know where you can find me.â He called out, getting in his car and starting the engine.
âAll right, letâs peel.â John B spoke, both of them grunting and getting up from the table.
âShit, JJ?â You shouted, coming from outside the bedroom.
âYou guys alright?â You asked them,
âYeah.â They both said in unison.
âAll right, I got a plan, all right? Think it might work.â JJ said. âItâs a little sketchy, might not like it. But I think itâll work.â
âNo, no, no, no, wait, wait, what plan?â John B stopped him.
âIf I tell you now when the plan is half baked, youâll get all negative.â
âLook, Iâd settle for a quarter baked plan.â
JJ mumbled over him, using a mocking voice. âCome on!â
âDonât you dare make that noise at me.â John B rolled his eyes, both of you following JJ anyways.
âËâżË° đ â âč âĄ
âHey.â Rafe spoke, a small smile on his face as Sofia woke up.
âSo, is this place really all yours?â She asked him.
âMore like lord of the manor shit.â
She laughed at him, as he stepped outside, looking at the mess the party had left.
He looked over, his mind being flooded with the memory of you storming over there yesterday. A part of him hoped it had ended differently and you would give in.
But he knew you werenât like that, he knew you were stubborn when it came to these things.
Whatâs worse is that his suspicions about the pogues knowing he had melted the cross down was confirmed when you came over.
Rafe stormed over to where he knew his dad was, his mind also going to a conversation he had with Barry. âItâs you or your dad.â
âIâm taking care of business. Iâm laying groundwork, Iâm making connections, Iâm trying to plant my flag here, okay? So you just need to go back to your island where itâs safe, and you need to stop jamming me up, okay?â
Ward stood up, sighing at his son.
âIf you get caught here, it ruins everything.â
âIâd figured youâd know where to find me, of all people.â He chuckled. âIâm glad you did. I think itâs clear from what happened yesterday⊠I was right. Youâre on a very bad path, Rafe.â
âYour opinion, not mine. Okay? Iâm good.â
âYouâre making the same mistakes again and again, the same ones I did, okay?â
âRight..â
âSo Iâm gonna help you, son. I decided to make some changes.â
âWhat are those..?â Rafe asked him.
âIâm taking control of the company away from you.â
Rafe paused. âWhat?â
âYouâre not in charge anymore, Rafe.â
âWhat are you saying?â
âMy attorneys found a more recent document that left control to Rose.â
Rafe exhaled, nodding. âRose?â
âYeah. You didnât think I was gonna give up complete control, did you, Rafe? Not be able to tap the rudder a little bit? Iâm very generous with my children.â
Rafes fists clenched, itching to punch his father at the moment. âOh, are you?â
âBut Iâm not a complete fool.â
âËâżË° đ â âč âĄ
âOh, perfect, Rockfish.â
âHey, I remember bashing a beer bottle over some dude here.â You reminisced, smile on your face.
âThereâs a guy here, thatâs always here, moves a lot of weight. My dad worked for him.â
âNo, you donât mean Barracuda Mike? That asshat?!â You exclaimed, jumping out the car with JJ.
âCome on, thereâs gotta be a better option than this.â John B said, knowing Barracuda Mike.
âOh, you know what? There is a better option, except thereâs not. All right, dude? Seriously, we donât have a whole lot of time and your dad needs help right now and this guy is gonna be the key to getting down to South America ASAP.â
âLet me do the talking, okay?â
You and John B exchanged looks, watching Jj walk up to him. You both followed him.
âYo, Mike!â Mike turned around at Jjs voice. âYo! You remember me, right? You know it, itâs on the tip of your tongue.. J-â
âLukeâs son!â He put the knife in the board. âAnd daughter.â He nodded to you.
âUh, also go by JJ, but uhm, thatâs y/n, and this is our good friend John B.â
âRoutledge.â
âIn the flesh. Yep.â
âHeard stories about you three, especially you.â He pointed at you. You gave him a small salute and smile.
âSounds about right.â You shrugged.
âI mean, heâs a stone cold cop k⊠killer..âJJ paused, you looking over to your side to see a very tall and large man standing menacingly beside you.
âNo, Iâm not.â
âMike, Iâm gonna be honest about why weâre here, okay? Since my darling little brother canât seem to speak, we are in a little bit of trouble, and we need to get down to South America, if thatâs uh-â you spoke, before he cut you off.
âIâm sorry, slick, but I done sold the travel agency.â
You laughed, looking down and back at him.
âI mean, weâre not looking for some free handout here, alright? Name- name a price, you got it.â You shrugged. âWe just need to parley, in um, private, if thatâs cool with you.â
John B looked over, before you and JJ could even more.
âJust stay here, just stay here.â JJ mumbled to him.
âNo youâre not gonna do this.â He whispered, âyouâre not gonna leave me he-â
JJ walked into the large man. âExcuse you! All right.â He walked out.
You followed, looking at the man and saying âsorry for him. Heâs a bit slow.â And walking outside with them.
You and JJ walked onto the dock, with Mike.
âLook, I know you got planes cominâ in with bales of weed from South America, they need to be unloaded, right? Thatâs what my dad did for you, and Iâve done it quite a few times, I can do it for you, Mike,â you pointed to yourself and to him.
âHe would come home and brag about how much he made one night, which was 10k right? Thatâs a shit ton of money, weâre willing to do it for free.â You told him.
He scoffed, ânothings free, kid.â
âI live by that one too, all right? So, Iâll be honest, all we want is just some space in the cargo hold when you make your next trip down there. Thatâs all I want.â
âYou just want a ride.â
âJust want a ride in that cargo hold. And then in exchange you get three sets of free hands, and another 20k in your pocket, sounds like a win to me.â You laughed. âWhat do you say?â
â5:30.â He called out.
â5:30, tonight, yes sir! Weâll see you!â You told him, walking back to JB.
âFuck, Iâm back. Missed this shit.â You said with a smile, JJ and you doing a handshake you made up as kids as you walked.
âYeah, you are.â He exclaimed.
âNice to meet you guys!â You waved bye to them as JJ grabbed John B, you guys leaving to the Twinkie.
âSo I convinced him to get us a ride, but we have to do something.â
âOkay, what do we gotta do?â John B asked.
âJust a lilâ something.â JJ shrugged.
âA little something?â
âYeah..â
âEvery time you say a little something itâs never a little something.â
âJohn B, itâs literally the easiest job in the world, bro.â JJ told him, stopping in his tracks.
John B groaned.
âWe just unload it. You know what they do on planes? You know on delta and united when they take the bags off of the-â
âYes- yes.â
âThatâs what weâre doing, okay? Once we do that we punch our tickets, go on to South America, sipping on piña coladas.â
âShit, that sounds good right about now.â You murmured.
âExcept you, no more alcohol for you.â JJ pointed to you.
âOh, cmon! Thatâs not fair, youâre not my dad.â
âYeah, well, youâre driving.â He threw the keys at you, you groaned and got into the drivers seat.

Chapter 7
2,167 Words
A/N: This story is going at a snailâs pace and it might be going that way for a while. Sorry, not sorry!
TW: blood mention, no actual blood
âŠ
âGross, hyung. The magic? Are you a college bro dude bringing a girl to your bedroom for the first time?â
Chanâs jaw dropped in offense, the corners of his lips turned slightly up. âYah! I happen to think the studio is very magical!â
Felix wrinkled his nose. âWhatever. Letâs just at least let the others meet her before we chase her away.â
The two of them led you down the hallway, Felix bouncing along at your side, eyes sparkling with excitement. Chan rested his hand on your lower back once more as you made your way to a large, sticker-covered door.
You recognized some of the stickers, little SKZOOs and miniature album covers, but some of them were quite random. A duck on a skateboard, an ice cream cone holding a cactus, a Bulbasaur with a flower crown. While they didnât exactly match the other stickers, you couldnât deny that they were all quite adorable.
âAlright,â Chan said, turning you from the door to face Felix. âI think itâs best if I go ahead and make sure they arenât having a twerk battle or anything before Y/N goes in there. Stay here for a sec?â
You smiled at him and bumped his shoulder with yours. âWhat, I donât get to watch the twerk battle? I think I would be a great judge.â
He pursed his lips, somewhere between suppressing a smile and on the verge of losing his sanity. âHopefully, there wonât actually be a twerk battle happening. They might be sitting in there calmly and patiently. However, as someone who has had to deal with them for years, I know to lower my expectations.â
Felix shook his head with a smirk. âAre you kidding? As someone who has had to deal with you for years, I know you would get super crazy bored if we were calm and patient all the time. You love our chaos. But if you donât want to traumatize Y/N right away, you can check on them.â
Felix wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you against him as Chan slipped into the room. He shut the door gently behind him but you could hear the uproar at his arrival. Felix sighed and rested his chin on your shoulder.
Turning to him, you felt a bit of anxiety bubble up in your chest. âIs everyone in there?â
He glanced at you out of the corner of his eye without moving his head. âThey should be. Normally, our recording sessions just have a few of us at a time, butâŠâ He paused to grin at you. âItâs a bit of a special occasion.â
Before you could stutter out a response, Chan reappeared, leaving the sticker-covered door cracked open just the tiniest bit behind him.
âOkay, Y/N.â He clapped. âLetâs do this!â
He grabbed your hand and led you through the door, Felix shuffling behind with his arms still around you and trying his best to stay connected.
The room was mostly taken up by a recording room and a table full of hundreds of different buttons and switches. Two walls, however, had one large L-shaped couch against them, completely taken over by the band members.
Closest to where you were standing, lying with his head resting against the arm of the couch, was Minho. As he heard the door open, he stretched over the armrest, causing his head to go upside down over the edge of the couch. He smiled at you, eyes squinting, and you couldnât help smiling back.
Sitting nearby with Minhoâs legs tossed over his lap, you recognized Jisung. His wide eyes glanced up at you and he went to maneuver himself out from the tangle of legs, but they visibly tightened over him, locking Jisung down against the couch.
Next to him, curled up together in the corner of the couch, snoring softly, were Jeongin and Seungmin. Innie opened his eyes at the sound of the door opening and blinked slowly at you a couple times before the sleep cleared from his eyes. They widened as he sat up, jostling Seungmin and waking him up in the process.
On the opposite side of the couch, you could see Changbin spread out with Hyunjin settled on top of him, his head nestled against Changbinâs stomach with a content smile on his face. Changbinâs eyes widened at you while Hyunjin mumbled a soft âhi, noonaâ and turned his head to face the wall.
You giggled. âHi, Hyunjin!â You whispered, holding up the hand still entangled with Chanâs to wave at the omega, despite the fact that he was turned away and couldnât see.
Your eyes shifted back to Han as he wrestled his way free of Minhoâs trap and stumbled over to you. Seungmin also stepped his way over Jeongin to stand next to Jisung. Changbin appeared to struggle under Hyunjin, but after nothing happened, he stopped. You were sure that he could overpower Hyunjin if he wanted to, but you couldnât exactly blame him for not trying his hardest. If Hyunjin was laid on top of you like that, you wouldnât even try to move.
Jisung and Seungmin stood before you, Chan, and Felix like you were deciding their fate.
Chan squeezed your hand. âGuys, this is Y/N, our new caretaker. I know you guys would like some time to get to know each other, but we really have to get this recording down, so maybe just get to know each other during? Got it?â
Jisung nodded while Seungmin muttered âgot itâ. On the other side of the room, evidently Changbin had gotten a bit impatient. He wrapped his arms around Hyunjin, stood up, and dragged him over to you. Hyunjin playfully struggled, but once he got close enough to you, he gasped dramatically. âRescue me, noona!â He exclaimed, going limp and flopping over into you and Felix, who was still clinging to your back. Luckily, Hyunjin wasnât very heavy and you managed to catch him before all three of you hit the ground.
Chanâs hand had gotten dragged along with yours where you wrapped it around Hyunjin. He sighed as Changbin froze, eyes wide and arms held out in front of him.
Jisung cackled at the other boyâs stance, relieving the tension in the room. âYah, hyung!â He shouted with a wide, open-mouthed smile. âYou canât just throw Hyunjin at random people!â
Changbinâs jaw dropped. âI didnât throw him! He threw himself! Iâm completely innocent!â
Minho sighed, still draped half upside-down over the couchâs armrest. âItâs too early for this. Jagi, Dwaekki, calm down before I stuff Seungminâs socks in your mouths.â
âWhy my socks?â
âIâm too pretty to have socks in my mouth!â
âWhy is he jagi but Iâm Dwaekki?â
âBecause he has cuter cheeks.â Minho smirked.
Changbin puffed his own cheeks out. âYah, hyung, you donât think my cheeks are cute? These cheeks?â His voice went high-pitched as he poked his own cheeks and bounced around you to Felix. You could feel the younger boy smile against your shoulder and Hyunjin shook with silent laugher, jostling you both in the process. âYongbok, tell hyungie my cheeks are cuter than-â
A growl erupted from the corner of the couch where Jeongin had settled back down.
Everyone in the room froze until Chan released your hand to walk over to the maknae.
âHey,â He said, holding out his hand tentatively, like someone waiting for an unfamiliar dog to sniff. âHey, aegi-alpha. Is everything okay?â
Jeongin blinked, eyes widening before he frowned in confusion. âNot sure. Probably⊠too loud?â
âOkay,â Chan nodded, still holding his hand out. âAre you still okay to record today or do you want to take a break?â
Innie shook his head and then bumped it into Chanâs hand like a cat. âIâm good. JustâŠâ He paused to wave his hand around. âAlpha-y.â
You were mentally debating whether to ask what that meant or not. On one hand, it felt like it was none of your business. On the other hand, âalpha-yâ stuff was kind of exactly your business. Before either argument won, Felix bumped his nose into your shoulder to get your attention. âSince Innieâs still settling in his presentation, heâs not always sure what his alpha is trying to tell him, so when he doesnât know why his alpha does something instinctively, he just tells us it was him being alpha-y.â His eyes shifted over to watch Chan run his fingers through Jeonginâs hair. âItâs quite cute.â
Hyunjin adjusted himself so he could see the two alphas in the corner while still leaning against you. âIsnât everything he does cute? He could growl at me and bite me with those sharp little teeth until I bleed and I would still call his aggressiveness adorable.â
While the three of you were gazing at Chan and Innie, Minho had grabbed Jisung and Changbin and prompted them to set up for recording. The younger two had been frozen, staring at the others just like your little omega cluster, but with much less adoration and much more guilt and fear. Thankfully, Minho dragged them over and sat them down in front of the recording box, bringing Seungmin with him as well and sitting down with the beta on his lap on the far end of the couch, giving the others adequate space.
Chan murmured to Jeongin for a couple minutes before gesturing you over. You turned around and placed Hyunjin into Felixâs arms. The younger boy was all too happy to latch onto Hyunjin as you moved over to the corner.
âWhatâs up?â You asked softly, conscientious of how Innie said it might have been too loud for his alpha.
âDo youâŠâ Chan hesitated. âI know itâs sort of hard to know, especially since Iyen doesnât even know, but do you have any ideas why he would growl like that?â
Jeongin had grasped one of Chanâs hands between both of his own and was currently nuzzling against the scent gland on Chanâs wrist. Chanâs other hand was gently running through the younger boyâs hair and he peeked out from under it, sharp eyes regarding you questioningly.
You mentally pictured the scene right before the growl to try and figure it out. âWell, Iâm not so sure it was the noise. Newly presented people do have more sensitive hearing, along with their sense of smell. But I think it has to do more with where Changbin was rather than his volume.â
Chanâs hand stilled in I.Nâs hair. âWhat do you mean?â
You took a deep breath. âFelix, Hyunjin, and I were all huddled together and Changbin came over to us, which irritated Innieâs alpha.â
Chan glanced between you and Jeongin. âWhy would that irritate his alpha?â
âFelixâs heat,â you answered. âI.Nâs alpha is telling him not to let other alphas near Felix, though itâs hard to tell whether itâs so that they donât take advantage of him or because heâs simply jealous.â
Jeongin dropped Chanâs hand from his face down to his lap, interweaving their fingers together, holding his hand more naturally. âBut Channie-hyung was standing next to you and Yongbok. Why did I only react when Changbin-hyung got close to him?â
âHeâs your head alpha,â you told him, glancing pointedly at Chanâs hand grasped between his. âYou subconsciously trust him with Felix, so you donât worry about him or get jealous.â
Chan squeezed Innieâs hand before turning back to you. âIs he going to be like this all the way up until Felixâs heat? Growling every time Changbin or Minho gets close to Felix? And maybe even during his heat, too?â
You pursed your lips. âHe shouldnât. He might be a little extra⊠sensitive. But his hormones are fluctuating and so are Felixâs. There will likely be a few more instances where Innie is more aggressive than usual, but itâs a bit difficult to know when and where it will happen. Also, I donât want to jinx anything, but if all he does is growl, then it should be fairly easy to deal with.â
Chan nodded and rested his forehead against I.Nâs. âWeâre gonna be okay, yeah? Itâs just a couple days until Felixâs heat and weâre gonna be fine, arenât we?â
Jeonginâs eyebrows furrowed. âHyung, I donât want to growl at Changbin-hyung or Lino-hyung for no good reason.â
Chanâs hand slipped down from I.Nâs hair to rest on his neck, thumb pressing gently on the maknaeâs scent gland. âWell, I canât promise that that wonât happen, but I can promise that we wonât get upset with you. Do you remember what your alpha-hyungs were like when Felix first presented? If we can survive that, we can survive a couple little growls from our adorable aegi-alpha.â
Jeongin giggled and nodded against Chanâs forehead. âOkay, hyung. We should start recording now, shouldnât we?â
From the angle you were standing, you couldnât exactly see Chanâs expression, but you could see his cheeks stretch like he was smiling. âYeah, Innie. Letâs start recording.â

âMaybe we take a break from going out into the packed public for once?â Mikey was upside-down, but compensated by holding his phone the opposite way.Â
It put him right side up in the video chat, but the view was extra blurry. âIs that⊠okay?â
âIâm the one suggesting it!â Mikey stuck out his tongue, but his reflection seemed to confuse him on which way the appendage should go. âItâs been awhile. I havenât been able to see you.â
âYeah⊠wellâŠâ Though for you it would have been predictable, Mikey hadnât felt the firsthand effects of your setbacks yet.Â
Panic attacks always caused you to withdraw into yourself.Â
You werenât supposed to.
There were times when it was easy to keep going.
Others, such as now, left you homebound for as long as society allowed.
The push to normalcy now included your thoughtful friend.
âDo you know after my tremors went away, I spent months avoiding art because I was afraid of how it would look?â Mikey told you casually.Â
You werenât sure what he was talking about.
You tried to recall something about tremors, but came up short.
You wanted to ask more, but there was a more startling aspect than the content itself.
You couldnât believe there was ever a period where Mikey avoided art as he had been nothing, but a loud proponent of all its merit.
âWhy?â
âBecause I knew my level and then⊠I didnât. I knew Iâd have to get back there. It was like riding a skateboard, but needing to take that time? For a second time. Chancing the bad result? It was like my healing was one thing and then by doing that it would show me just how much further I still needed to go. Like that dude with the cat and the box. I didnât want to open it and find out. I couldnât do it.â
âIsnât the saying⊠something⊠about riding a bike?â
âWe were skateboard tots!â Mikey rolled over and with it so did his camera, inverting the image.
You nodded lightly.
âI switched up crafts. Started new ones that werenât so finger focused. Pour paints and candle work!â He made grabby hands at the lens as he fixed his phone angle.
âSomething low keyâŠâ You hummed where you were sitting at the foot of your bed.
âYeah, something quiet, calm, and⊠oh! Oh yeah!â There was another flip, but this one was out of excitement.
âD-donât⊠bust through a wallâŠ!â
Mikey appeared within a flurry of static. âDid you just make a Kool-Aid Man joke?â
âI make jokes!â
The wattage of his smile turned up to a blinding degree. âWell then Iâve got just the wall to bust through!â
-
âNo.â Donnie glowered over his shoulder.
âPlease!â Mikey bounced his plea with his head straight up to the ceiling of the garage you were currently in.
An oddity in the subway, but something you imagined had to exist based on logic, your eyes were openly roving around the tidy depot.
âAbsolutely not.â Lifting out from under a hood and minding his head, Donnie craned an elbow to the engine block he was working on. âYou know youâve been banned.â
âOne time!â Mikey groaned.
âNo!â Donnie felt the need to rip off his leather work gloves to throw an unencumbered finger in Mikeyâs face. âYou were banned once after crashing eleven separate times!!â
âEleven?!â You squeaked.
Mikey flipped back and forth between the two of you, obviously caught in who to address first. âMy driving is fine!â He chose you and then flipped to Donnie. âIâve changed!â
From the duffel that was slung around your body, you had already been clinging to the strap as it gave you something comforting to hold on to. With the new knowledge that you had almost been driven somewhere rural by someone with that kind of driving record, you now scooped up the entire sack to soothe yourself.Â
âForget that.â Donnie flicked his gaze to you. âYouâd need a full crash suit to survive him.â He then folded his gloves into a pair and went to check his tool box.
You wilted further.
âWeâre already packed!â Mikey rounded a new argument. âThis is going to be our big, no-stress, relaxing getaway and youâre making it exactly not that!âÂ
âThatâs unfortunate. The bus station isnât far.â Donnie knelt down to get a wrench.
âAnd howâs that going to work!? We get dropped at some station and walk to the cabin!? You know itâs in the middle of nowhere!â Mikey stepped up to throw menace over his brother.
Donnie smelled it a mile away and lifted his head, pouring twice the malice. âOh, you want to play?â
Mikey gulped and nodded his head once. âLet us borrow a car, the tank, a shell cycle, whatever! Youâre being unfair!â
âYour planning is poor.â Donnie was slow to get on one knee. âYouâre ill equipped.â To the other, he got a foot under him. âYouâve informed no one.â Rising to his towering height above his brother, he loomed. âYou walk into my garage, where I am in the midst of my own personal and much needed zen in the form of refurbishing my newest baby and expect me to drop the keys of another into your hands knowing full well that you have destroyed more vehicles on more occasions than I can count on our joined mutant fingers and toes because you just so happened to suddenly decided that you needed to take a weekend trip with your friend of which whom you have a similar slapdash scheme going on with to go to our familyâs cabin up north on a whim!?!â
Having watched Donnie not take a single breath, you backed up nearly the same distance that Mikeyâs head had shrunk down into his shell.
âY-yes?â Mikey peeped.
âNo.â Donnie said the word firm and quiet, but punctuated it with a tap to Mikeyâs plastron which caused the stiff turtle to fall over. âNow leave me to my work.â
Only a shell laying there, you leaned forward to look over Mikey without compromising your spot.
Donnie swung his wrench and moved over to a creeper with the intention to disappear under what looked like a turtle-themed moon buggy.
âYou-â Your voice echoed in the garage and you tensed up.
Mikeyâs head emerged from his shell to peek at you.
Donnie halted his motion, but didnât turn.
âYou⊠um⊠could⊠come with us?â
You watched Donnieâs lips wobble with disdain.
âN-Not a-as a d-driver! Y-you saidâŠâ
In a loud pop, all of Mikeyâs limbs emerged. âThatâs a great idea!!!â
In a smooth rotation, Donnie both turned and lifted his wrench with a threat.
Mikey crab walked several paces away.
âIâm disappointed.â Donnie sent a glare in your direction. âIf your thought is even-â He caught a glimpse of his wrench. â-5/16ths as moronic as his then you are banned from the garage itself. Know that, would you still like to continue speaking?â
Gaze plummeting, your heart tried to escape and you screwed the whole of you shut to keep it inside.
Your entire body shook with the force of your nerves and you had to wait until your BPMs dropped to a manageable limit before you could manage speech. âYou⊠said⊠m-much needed⊠so maybe⊠the trip would⊠well⊠be calming⊠for you too?â
There was a clink of metal hitting the ground.
Banned.
You were banned from the garage.
That was fine.
In theory, it wasnât.
In theory, you were mortified.
Despite your best efforts, you had never been banned from anything.
Now you were.
A glaring dark spot on your permanent record.
Was Mikey a bad influence?
âYou do say driving gets your mind off thingsâŠâ Mikey said with a sudden supportive starkness.
You kept your gaze firmly rooted to the floor in shame.
âAlso hold up!â In a slap of feet against concrete, Mikey righted himself. âYou take a few of those things back, Don! I may have pushed the idea through, but it was not poorly planned or ill equipment or whatever you said! Y/N worked crazy hard on putting together everything in the short time frame I laid out!!â
You twitched.
âThereâs maps, multiple trails marked, a calculated amount of water, with extra rations, flares⊠Like do you think this other bag is mine? Heck no! Iâm not bringing anything! Both these bags are Y/Nâs! Theyâre both stuffed with⊠stuff! Like-like!â You felt Mikey come over to you. âHow you contacted the rangerâs station to tell them weâd be in the area? Iâve never even thought of that! Weâve never done that have we, Dee?â
Donnie continued his bout of silence that you didnât dare look upon.
âWhat elseâŠ?â Mikey slapped his forehead. âI mean, come on! I canât even remember it all!â
âI⊠got that satellite phone⊠you were pretty excited⊠about it.â You mumbled to the ground.
âWith the backup batteries, Donald!â Mikey hummed a self-important sound. âThe backup batteries!!â
The garage made it very clear that Donnie was walking over to you.
You bounced ever so slightly to garner the courage to meet his eye.
âWho did itinerary?â Donnie asked.Â
âMe.â Mikey remarked casually.
âI assume food too?â Donnieâs voice was heavy with judgment.Â
âNope.â You could see a swoop as Mikey folded smug arms.
âThatâs not quiteâŠâ You cleared your throat. âMikey⊠shared his⊠favorite dishes that you⊠all makeâŠwhen you⊠go.â
Donnie dipped into your eye line and you startled.
Heâd bent at his waist and come down at a perfect angle.
You stared with warped lips.
âHow long?â He narrowed his gaze.
âT-the trip?â Your gaze wobbled.
Mikey opened his mouth and Donnie threw out an arm that, by the sound, must have slapped the younger in the face.
âYes.â Donnie kept his hand in place.
âTonight⊠tomorrow⊠back Sunday?â
âIs that a question?â Donnieâs head tilted.
Mikey grunted, annoyed.
âNoâŠâ You got out, quiet.
âYou agreed knowing full well youâd be alone with him?â
Slapped with a similar heat from the first time youâd realized that fact, you gave a tight nod.
âWe have separate rooms!â Mikey mumbled through closed lips with surprising clarity.
âAnd thatâs okay?â Donnie disappeared.
You chased him up to find heâd released Mikey and was waiting on him for an answer.
âItâs a no brainer.â Mikey nearly rolled his eyes.Â
Donnieâs brow lowered, unsatisfied.
âYes, itâs okay because it isnât a thing.â Mikey huffed around his clarification.
âI suppose⊠Iâve been persuaded.â Donnie looked down thoughtfully and you watched him trace back to where heâd dropped his wrench.
Mikey jumped into the air with a sudden bout of energy and caught your hands to spin you.
âY-y-yay!â You stutter, stalling on the rotation.
âCabin, here we come, baby!â Mikey cheered.Â
âI need my things!â Donnie barked. âAnd you.â
You jolted. âY-yes?â
âYou will send me triplicate copies of your plans.â
âS-sureâŠâ You spastically patted yourself down for your phone.
âI refuse to engage with either of your antics.â Donnieâs own appeared in his hand. âI am no third wheel. I am coming because I will apparently have to deal with your whining otherwise and because I am not in the mood for the lecture from Nardo and Raphael when they return.â
âHave they texted yet?â Mikey peered over Donnieâs shoulder.
âNo. Security detail means one must pay-â Donnie suddenly dropped and ducked through Mikeyâs legs in one fluid movement. â-attention. This is why you werenât requested.â
âAnd why didnât they request you, hm?â Mikey pushed his lips into one corner of his mouth.
âBecauseâŠ!â Donnie trailed off with widened eyes. âMy talents lie elsewhere! Enough interruptions. I will drive and then you will leave me be! I am to have my zen! Is that understood?â
âYeah, yeah, crystal.â Mikey finally did roll his eyes.
Donnie took a few steps away as you found your phone and held it unsure of how to send him the details.
âHeâs totally going because he heard âyakinikuâ when you mentioned we were making my favorite foods.â Mikey walked over to you with a smirk.
You watched Donnie take an irritated pause before continuing on to get his things. Â
-
The ride in the tank had passed with booming music and a tour from Mikey that you only visually participated in because you were terrified to move about the cabin. The younger seemed not to notice as he explained parts with stories more than function. Donnie alternatively, had shades on that further marred his calculated expression and he said nothing as the studious driver.
Leaving the city and entering scenic woodlands, you were soon left to admire the views until you eventually deviated off the road toward the cabin. Tracking it with the little local map you had found, you busied yourself in the comfortable way that most people disliked on road trips: silence in a cozy bubble all your making.
There didnât have to be talk, thatâs what road trip mixes were for.
You only made exceptions for car games.Â
You liked that they had simple rules and there were little stakes to be had.Â
You only wished cars were safer modes of transport.
There was also something to be said about environmental impact and the culture of automobiles in America, but other than that, you found them nice.
Pulling up to what you imagined was a quiescent place, Mikey could not be restrained a second longer.
Out of the tank in a flurry, you watched through the windshield as his form screamed straight up the cabinâs steps. âHe doesnât do great on car rides, huh?â
âSitting still for too long? Michael?â Donnie rose from the captainâs chair.
You gave a small smile and gathered up the few things youâd taken inside with you. Your actual bags were stored in an outer compartment and Donnie waited for you as a safety net as you made the harrowing steps down the tank ladder and to the ground. Landing with little fault, you joined him in getting the luggage until Mikey tore back over to grab some of the load. He talked loudly of dust that had accumulated and Donnie griped at him that it was obvious theyâd need to clean.
You fondly watched the two bicker and set-up became the next directive. Throwing back plastic sheets that coated furniture, Donnie had a multitude of inventions to clear the space quickly. You had to run to the windows to release the dust tornadoes formed. Making it out mostly unscathed, you then helped Mikey hang bug nets. With the late Spring weather warming the air, soon everything was prepped and Mikey did a little closing dance number, capping off the preparatory part of the trip.
âSwimming hole time!â Mikey cheered and then turned knowingly on Donnie. âThen BBQ and prompt lights out so I can make a lumberjack breakfast first thing!â
âWeâre grinding beans⊠we roastedâŠâ You offered softly. âUh⊠Coffee⊠beans⊠that isâŠâ
âOh yeah, I forgot we took that class.â Mikey chuckled. âYou almost fell into that sack!â
You squashed a noise of distress at the memory.
Understanding the schedule, Donnie dismissed himself with a turned foot and headed to one of the cabinâs many rooms. You were left to look about the quintessential log cabin where the huge living space and connected kitchen then butted up against a row of doors. They spoke of many rooms that traced the back of the cabin and then up a staircase to a second floor. From what you could see, there were about eight rooms in all. The entire cabin then had a wraparound porch that extended into the wilderness. It was land that both belonged to nature and not, but Mikey had been cagey about revealing property lines.Â
âWelp!â Mikey folded his hands on his hips. âYour boy needs to get wet before he explodes.â
You gawked at him.
âSeriously!â He was looking out over the cabin with a vacant stare that held a sort of unhinged quality. âFirst the car, then stuck inside? This is not an inside trip. if I am not unleashed in the next, oh I donât know⊠2 minutes, Iâm going to lose it!â
âUhâŠ!â
âYou got those trail maps?â He turned, both looking through you and not at.
âY-yes!â
âI color coded the one to the watering hole. Orange, obviously.â Mikey approached with a waggling brow ridge. âI saw you in the car, keeping perfect pace. It was awesome.â
âJust to s-stay b-busy!â
âUh huh! Your smile said otherwise! Youâll meet me there then! Same way!â He patted your shoulder once with a whack before bolting out the door.
You stared after him now knowing why heâd chosen to travel in his swimsuit.
Looking down at your road trip ensemble, you still felt sure of your decision to take the few hour drive comfortably.
There was a noise of a door opening and Donatello emerged, changed into a casual outfit punctuated by purple swim trunks.
You stared at him and felt a little like a caught fawn.
Donnie took you in before his gaze dulled with understanding. âHe ditched you.â
âIâm⊠going to meet him.â
âHe always does this.â Donnie responded dismissively. âYou should have seen him in time out as a tot.â
âOh?â
âOne minute in time out for him was comparative to thirty for the rest of us.â Walking around a large kitchen bar, Donnie studied the rations.
You took a few steps toward him for the sake of it.
âHeâs so impatient.â Donnie murmured, poking several waters aside to find a carton of juice boxes that Mikey had insisted on. He quickly tossed the set into the fridge. âHeâs not even an aquatic turtle.â
You sort of wished you had done more research past looking up pictures of their species.
âYouâre losing daylight.â He emerged from the fridge. âOr are you not swimming?â
âI-I amâŠ!â You squeezed a fist to your chest. âAre⊠you coming too?â
Donnie blinked slowly at you. âNo, why?â
âOhâŠâ You shouldnât have assumed. Heâd already told you otherwise. âSorry⊠your bottoms⊠I thoughtâŠâ
âBoard shorts.â He punctuated the words with an odd accent.
You gave an unsure nod.
âIâm glad their sign was translated.â He glanced down at himself.
âSorryâŠâ You murmured when he made no further movement and quickly left to avoid any awkwardness.
You werenât sure what you expected.
Itâs not like you wanted to exclude Donnie.
You knew that pain too well.
You also didnât want to make him feel unwelcomed.
You were painfully aware of that too.
He hadnât wanted to be a third wheel and you had made it a silent mission to keep that from happening.
Something else youâd experienced in the past, youâd been the unwilling chaperone on more than one occasion just to satisfy parentâs minds. The good one, in their minds, you had always been ditched and the feeling wasnât one you cared for. Shoving past the bygone era, you were seen now and you tried to relish that.
The sunâs attention was a fickle thing, but you were getting more use to losing Mikeyâs. Something you thought should scare you, instead you felt your friendship with Mikey was stronger than ever. You no longer feared losing him in the same intangible way and you werenât sure if you should crop that up to Mikeyâs feelings about you. Instead it felt as though youâd reached a better status quo where Mikeyâs running off felt more like the sun moving on its predetermined rotation. It would eventually round back to you and in that way you expected Mikeyâs claustrophobia even if you hadnât known about it.
You picked a room at random and rummaged through the duffel that you placed on your bed. There was a woodsy smell that teetered on musty in a way that spoke of it being well lived in even if its occupants only came every so often. You had your own little stand up mirror, nightstand, dresser, and a closet though you doubted youâd use anything past the first. Pulling out a single slick piece of black fabric, you double checked the door was closed before changing.
The perfect swimsuit was one you hadnât imagined youâd find. Not one for flashy things, you only wanted a muted cover that also happened to cover you. Water did unimaginable things to fabrics and you hated the way it clinged. You wanted something you could disappear in, that brought no unnecessary attention, and could be forgotten on your end. Finding it in a matter of minutes into shopping as opposed to the years it took when you were younger, the item had even been on sale.
Stepping into it and pulling it up, you shimmied into the fabric and turned for that same show stopping image youâd seen in the changing room.
What stared back was an image of allure.
No.
That was wrong.
Thatâs not what it had looked like.
It had covered you.
It hadnât accentuated anything.
It was simple.
You squirmed, changing angles in hopes that it would get better, but each only revealed more.
What had changed?
Youâd purchased it this week.
Were you hallucinating?
Was there something in the wooden walls?
Had the tank crashed and this was you playing out some morbid purgatory?
You pinched yourself.
A sting bit your forearm and you threw your gaze back at the mirror for the unwilling shapes it concocted.
This wasnât right.
You wanted to swim.
There was no way you could.
Miserably turning away from your image, you rooted through your bag for a cover up. Finding one in some oversized t-shirt youâd brought for comfort, you held it and hated that this wasnât the way you imagined it would be employed. You figured itâd be a back-up pajama top and not something to hide your shame away in. Clinging to the fabric, you hastily pulled it over your head with an imaginary clock ticking away because Mikey was waiting.
You were ruining everything.
Stumbling out into the living room, you found yourself alone.
Momentarily thrown, but shaking off how Donnie wasnât a priority right now and the guilt that came with that, you went for your pile of maps. Finding the trail one with the orange lines, you gathered some shoes and careened down the porch.
Buzzing insects mocked your sloppy descent as you rotated the map to be on your course. Following it more than your way, you took the necessary inlet and folded its winds to a drawn T. Bushes and trees concealed you, but the splashing of what was beyond reached your ears faster than youâd hoped. A journey not long to its destination, you slowed as you came to the final bend. You could hear Mikey blabbing presumably to himself as he hooted before resounding sloushes followed. In your mind he jumped off some kind of ledge, you took a deep breath before making the final steps leading to the watering hole.
Somewhere quaint if you had the perspective for such a thing, a tree towered comfortably overtop a sizable pool. One mucked up from algae as the little stream feeding into it didnât stir the water near enough, you watched roiling green as Mikey emerged with a flip of his wet hair.
âY/N!â Mikey shouted happiness. âYou made it! Come on in! The waterâs fine!!â He swam backwards as if giving you room.
The guilt was staggering.
No, Mikey.
I wonât be swimming today.
My body looks like shit and I canât stand it.
Iâll watch you though.
Have all the fun.
You deserve it.
Signing off your name, you slunk forward only to clip a sight of mixed purples.
Donnie craned his neck back to view you from beneath a large sun hat heâd put on. Sitting on a few rocks that made up the closest edge to you, his lids lowered in a way that said he was reading you like a book.
Hating how he did that, you squeezed the bulky hem of your shirt and walked up. âUh⊠M-MikeyâŠ?â
âA-yup!â He stopped splashing to hear you better.
âThe⊠um⊠car ride⊠sort of took⊠more out of me than⊠I thought? Would it be alright if-!â
âYou donât have to swim.â
You blinked wide and over to him.
âIf you donât want to, donât!â Mikey continued on. âLetâs compare: are you upset Iâm swimming when you donât want to?â
âO-of c-course not!â
âThen why should I care in the reverse?â He fell back and floated, eyes closed, on his shell.
That was right in a way.
Sweet in another.
You wished youâd put together the same reaction.
Inching closer, it felt like pouring water into an overtaxed bucket.
Another guilty drop in your damnation.
Youâd seen your friend in a bad light.
Shirking all the more, you toed off your shoes and let your feet lay flat on one of the worn rocks. It put you near Donnie whoâd become the moon on a sunny dayâs backdrop. He shined upon the same stone and illuminated its age. The rocks were older and wiser than youâd ever be. They never worried about getting wet. They only knew how to exist, something you wished came as easily to you. Sitting down because you needed more of you to drink from the stoneâs wisdom, you kept a lowered head to the waterâs edge. It sloshed in a beckoning way and you imagined it too would feel good in a different way.Â
You really had wanted to swim.
Imaging your tears would do little to fill up the pool while also overflowing it, you heard a tepid sigh beside you.
Eyes wide and shooting up across the pond, you then turned to where youâd sat down next to Donnie.
Someone who you mistakenly forgot about during your pity party.
How was that for a third wheel?
âItâs always something with you.â He spoke softly.
âSure is.â You gave an awkward laugh.
âThatâsâŠâ He made a little concerned noise. â⊠I didnât mean it in a cruel way.â
âYou didnât have to. It is.â You threw your legs off the rock and threatened to drown your toes in the water. âItâs a cruel fate. IâmâŠâ You remembered yourself. âSorry. Nothing. What are you doing here?â
âMy species is aquatic.â
You snuck a glance. âYouâre pretty dry then.â
âYou are too.â
You frowned deeply and watched Mikey pick up a sun drunk grin as he spread his limbs out to float on. âI donât know why I feel like this. Everything was fine beforeâŠâ
âWith what?â
âThisâŠâ You threw a hand over yourself. âStupid ugly swimsuit.â
You could feel Donnieâs gaze linger.
âJust trust me.â You folded your legs against yourself.
 âIâm not sure I do.â
You squinted at the glistening water before looking at him.
âI barely know you.â He responded simply, waiting there.
âOh.â
âDisappointed?â
âIn what?â Your ugly side was leaking far beyond the reach of what your shirt could cover. âI didnât think you trusted me. You may have been wrong about me being bad, but that wouldnât make you less suspicious. So itâs not that. Whatâs left? The swimsuit sucks. Itâs not like you wanna drool over it. I donât want anyone too. I wanted to swim.â
Hearing your wish aloud, you pressed hard on your chest with your legs.
You could flatten out your entire form if only you were malleable.
âThe water is opaque. I can alert Mikey and weâll turn away so you can get in.â
You felt too far gone for solutions.
You werenât worth the trouble.
Burying your chin into your knees, you stewed.
âYou know how many times the others have made fun of my board shorts?â
You told yourself you didnât care.
If that was the case then Donnie didnât either. âHundreds, though it might be my attitude when wearing them. I like the excuse. To have my day off and not worry about pleasantries. To not have to tailor myself to others. I can tell them to shove it. Itâs my day off and how I look isnât anyoneâs damn business.â
Sounded like an odd hill to die on.
âEveryone should have those days.â Donnie craned his arms behind him and leaned back to soak up the rays he was in.
The tree overhead was clipping your light.
Donnie was free.Â
Mikey was free.Â
Head lifting a little, you pondered your friend.
Heâd needed to get out and he did.
Now he was a vision, glowing amongst the pool.
In contrast there was you, wadded up and tossed away without even giving yourself the chance.
Another terrible reminder that this was the point.
This was what you were trying to avoid.
This was what you were trying to learn from.
Mikey didnât even have to do anything to be himself.
He just was.
Instead of his usual bustle of light, he shined by matter of existence.
That was why you chased him.Â
You wanted that.Â
Staring at him until sun spots mucked up your vision, you turned the mass to Donnie.
Beside you in the same pose, he was more calculated.
He had to put on his wares.
His was an unseen struggle you hadnât considered.
No one gleamed quite like Mikey.
That didnât mean they didnât shine in their own right.
Donnieâs darkened scales only threw prisms in a different way.
The cool moonâs glow.
Letting your legs fall, this time your feet drew to the allure of the water.
Just out of reach, you stared hard, making sure the pair would keep their eyes closed.
The both of them were still as if asleep, but you waited past whatever insect was chirping before you slowly tugged your hem out from under you. Emerging without more than the sound of rustling fabric, you rolled your shirt up around your waist. The next move was one harder to conceal, you threw a desperate glance at your friend.
Water rocked the resting Mikey like a babe and you wanted to feel that too.
You wanted to be nestled by the sunâs glow.
You wanted to feel weightless and have those burdens removed.
You yanked the shirt over your head and dropped it to your side.
Donnie stirred at the sound, but didnât open his eyes.
âItâs⊠Itâs okay⊠Iâm not⊠okay⊠but I think I⊠I donât want to careâŠâ
He cracked a lid and stared skyward.
âIt looked so different in the store.â
âHow so?â He asked a whispy cloud.
âIt looked⊠I donât know⊠covering? Like it didnât⊠show any bits. Like it⊠hid them away.â
He blinked slow and comfortable. âIâm a designer, you know.â
âWhat?â
âGenius Built Apparel. Where fashion meets function.â
You stared on.
Of course he was.Â
He also built a tank and a legion of dusting robots.Â
If this were any other family youâd think he was pulling your leg.Â
Youâd seen more than enough to believe.Â
Most of your stare came from the cocky name.Â
Though even that made sense.Â
Donnie was a carefully constructed sphere.Â
Who were you to take away his gloating?Â
He tilted his head just enough to glimpse your face. âIâm serious. Iâve dissuaded Mikey from many a faux pas.â
You shook your head.
âMay I?â
âWhat?â You switched to eyeing him.
âI can take a clinical eye. Examine stitching. Find your err.â
You bounced one of your legs.
You did want to know where it had all gone wrong.
You could theoretically fix it then.
Wash this all away in the water you so desperately wanted to get in.
âYou wonât make it weird?â
âI donât drool on the metaphorical clock; you were right about that, but I understand your concern. I have accosted you before.â
âDifferent kind of weird. That was mean weird. You were a jerk weird.â
Donnie chuffed and it rolled down his plastron.
You watched it fall into his lap before forcing your gaze back to his face in a rush. âPromise⊠Promise I can pull your hat down if you⊠do anything.â
âI wonât so a simple enough agreement. Sure.â
âGo⊠aheadâŠâ You folded your arms to your sides, obviously nervous as you listened to his clothes move.
In a twist, he was examining you and he gave a faint hum.
Not wanting to see exactly how he saw you and growing miserable, you stared into the water.
You could throw yourself in and be done with it.
âHere.â He spoke.
You moved to the sound on instinct and found him pointing to your hip.
His eye was indeed one you imagined a tired scientist gave the samples he was cursed to study.
You immediately relaxed. âWhat?â
âThis ruching here is meant to cover cellulite when the fabric gets wet. When dry it acts a similar concealment, but the way the strips are sewn are for the first purpose.â
âOhâŠâ You tilted your head to look.
âThing is, itâs also leading lines.â He didnât get any closer, but he mimed tracing the seams of the fabric that curled around your hip and beneath where you were sitting. âItâs meant to direct the gaze to certain assets.â
You blew out an annoyed breath.
âDressing room mirrors, where I imagine you first saw this, arenât slapped on walls without thought. They're engineered with angles and lightning to make clothes look as flattering as possible.â He brought his eye to yours. âWhere did you see yourself today?â
âThereâs a⊠mirror in my room.â
Donnieâs lip twitched with distaste. âThat floor length one?â
You nodded.
âDad uses that one to feel tall.â He sneered openly. âIt tilts up from below, the worst possible perspective.â
You blinked a few rapid times.
âIt took the ruching and blew it up.â
âSo itâs not⊠that bad?â
âItâs anything, it's tasteful!â He spoke with an irritation that said that should have been obvious. âIt fits your body well. Does it have a certain allure? Yes, Iâve already spoken of assets, but it is not a piece that invites unnecessary solicitation.âÂ
âAssets, assets. What are you, an ass man?â You retorted automatically.Â
âThere is nothing quite like sinking your teeth into that soft, inviting flesh.â He took your response and held it between his teeth.
In a blink, you saw an imaginary Donatello around your hips pointing to the fabric and on contact with the thought your face exploded.
âI say generally speaking, of course.â He clicked his tongue as if scolding you and turned away toward the water.
Hot.
You were too hot.
Run.
Throwing yourself forward, you submerged as indelicately as possible into the water.
Sinking like a stone into the silence, your burning flesh was quickly soothed by a cold lap.
A sweet embrace, you kicked to the surface and emerged with a pathetic gasp.
Never graceful, you shook yourself free of clingy drops and spun back around to view the rocks.
Donnie was staring up at the sky again and you sort of hated him for it.
Swim.
Youâd swim with Mikey.
Spinning around, the other turtle was not only longer floating, but you couldnât locate him at all. Quickly worrying that you had toppled him in your dive, you swam forward. âMikey?â
Quieting to listen, you didnât hear anything past the faint roiling of the water against its container.
Thinking he must have dove, you looked down to find Donnieâs earlier comment to be a correct one. With the water murky to a fault and a new fear cropped up. You had no idea what was in the water and you immediately darted for the closest shore. Something several long feet from Donnie, it was a sort of marshy landing that rocks from below steeping up to meet. They were covered in a slime that clung to your feet and had you pausing until you heard an off-toned lap behind you.
You whirled around with wide eyes and found a sea monster waiting for you.
Something matted with algae, it groaned pathetically and you sucked in enough air until the balloon was full enough to scream.
âWhat!? Who?! Where?!â The creature splashed with Mikeyâs voice.
Heâd been captured by another mutant.
You turned to get out of the water with some intention of getting to the tank.
It had to have missiles or something.
Anything to help.
Youâd take a bowling ball launcher at this point.
Catching grip with one foot, you hoisted up the other. The many rocks acted like a disjointed ladder and your entire torso emerged from the water before one of your feet slid. The moment it happened felt like you were falling out of time. In slow motion, you knew your face was one of surprise. You painted an open expression where the imminent terror that you were falling couldnât catch up as neurons to save yourself from the action.Â
Your mind knew, but your face didnât know that you were going to crack your head open on the rocks you just slipped on.
âY/N!â
âY/N!â
Two voices.
Too far.
Something skewered your side as the first injury of many.
Hoping only to black out on that first step, you willed your possessions to your friends.
You didnât bother hoping they would remember you.Â
You only hoped that they could make some use out of your worldly imprint.
No matter how small it was.Â
Water rushed to greet you and shoved you away.Â
That wasnât right.Â
That was the wrong direction.
Water swayed like waves.Â
The equal and opposite reaction wouldnât come until you fell in.Â
Why had it preemptively come for you?
Your arms dangled heavily from gravity and you forced your eyes from wherever they had gone.
The monster was right in front of you.Â
Its face was one of Michelangelo.
Green sludge caught in his blackened locks and his worried expression peered out from between a small part.Â
He had you by the waist and was holding you up in the air. âAre you okay!?â
You were a loose toy strung up.
Flopping down, lifeless, you were a doll that couldnât close its eyes until it was laid down.
A second deafening splash came as you hung there.
Mikeyâs lips were moving awfully fast.
âDid they hit their head?!â Donnieâs voice broke through.
âNo! Above water the whole time! Donnie! They arenât saying anything, I donât-â
âShock?â Donnie wondered, but he never came into frame.
Where was he?
Mikey jostled you as one might bounce a colicky baby.
It was pulling a string on your back and you hacked on contact.Â
You wheezed, forcing air in where terror had torn it from you.Â
You fought.Â
Not Mikey exactly, but the situation.Â
It strung your arms back.Â
It shoved your torso forward.Â
It threw your head skyward.Â
You gasped, alive.Â
You saw blue.
It was the sky.
You hadnât died.
Mikey had saved you.
Finally.
You came down from your arching to translate your joy.Â
Mikeyâs face slid into your vision and he was the picture of a boiled red tomato dotted with summertime spots.
He was looking at you.Â
He had ogled you.Â
He was embarrassed.Â
Your blood pressure plummeted twice as fast as it had when you thought you were about to die.
This was worse.
This time you heard yourself scream as you lashed out.
Water flew up as if to welcome you, to bring you where you were meant to be.Â
Drowned.Â
Returned you to that place where you werenât an object to be viewed.
You were a person floating free.
Liquid carried life.
It supported it.
It didnât have it.
Vertigo struck you as you moved within a blink.Â
In a disorientated spiral, your lids fell heavy as your inner ear tried to correct the imbalance.Â
There were no longer hands around your waist.Â
Something clicked like an engine uselessly turning over.Â
Weary, you realized you were standing in a safe spot in the water.Â
You drew up the dreary blinds of your curtain and found a muscled arm thrown out protectively in front of you.Â
âIâm sorry! Iâm sorry!!!â Mikey cried, loud and desperate.
âWhat the hell was that then!?â Donnieâs voice rang close.
That firm limb tucked you further behind someone.Â
You were being shielded.
A squabble happened in front of you, but you only looked down at the jade appendage acting as your guard rail.
You touched the arm and it felt familiar.
âDon-nie?â Your voice came out synthetic.
His was the body you were behind and his face appeared in a whip of his head. âAre you alright? Can you swim? Iâll move.â
âIâm notâŠ?â You werenât swimming.
You werenât doing anything.
You were standing in the water.Â
âWhatâŠ?â
You looked past Donnie and glimpsed Mikey with a faint blush still stuck to his cheeks.
âY-youâŠ!â It felt accusatory on your lips.
âIâm sorry!!!â Mikey screeched.
âTurn around, dummy!â Donnie growled hot and was in motion.
You were soon ushered into a spin with an indelicate hand to your back and all but rushed over to the rock you had jumped off of.
You heard a splash of what you assumed was Mikey growing distant behind you.Â
You hoped that would cool him off.Â
âYou ready?â Donnieâs voice appeared like it was newly there.Â
âFor what?â You were already used.
What was left?
Was it time to take out the recycling?
âIâm going to lift you up. Your shirt is right there.â Donnie instructed.Â
âMy shirtâŠâ You were forlorn.
It was your back-up comfort item.
âReady?â Donnie asked again.
The water rocked you and you barely bumped his firm plastron.Â
You nodded dumbly.
Your hips were taken in what you read as a clinical way.Â
You were barely bounced once, then twice, in a way that ballet dancers got momentum to lift their partners.Â
Sure enough, you were lifted cleanly out of the water.
Only this time you felt well handled.
You werenât swung around like a toddler holding up their favorite doll.
A child who cared for his toys put you on a shelf.
When your knees touched down, you drank in the life of the rock and scrambled for your shirt.
All the things that had just occurred crashed into you.
Shoving your head through the hole, you yanked the shirt down your body as you were already in motion. Forest floor digging into your bare feet, you didnât need the map to retrace your steps. You followed the single, winding, prickly path and emerged out by the cabin only to fly inside it. A sanctuary amongst the unrelenting woods, you left a rotting drip trail as you entered your room. Your door clattered from where you had thrown it open and you ripped your duffel bag to shreds to get to its confines.
Pulling on layer after layer, you could see Mikeyâs blush with each piece of clothing.
Heâd looked at you.
You shoved your feet into a third pair of socks.
His gaze was amorous.
Into a thermal that was very much against the season, you ran out of clothes and stormed the dresser.
Sexual.
There were oversized menâs clothes that struck you as maybe being Raphâs and you thanked their huge size.
You put shirt after shirt on.
Mikey had said, point blank, that he wanted to see how far his feelings went.
Why were you so stupid?
You screamed.
Raw and uncut.
Tearing at your larynx, you ripped a few too many layers off as they impeded your melt down.
You needed space to breathe.
You needed to be swallowed whole.
Stumbling out to that accursed mirror, the shape you found there was a frumpy one.
Smiling a teary look at it, you watched it warp your face into one of dismay and you cried.
Where had you last felt okay?
It wasnât here.
Moving around the room you searched for it.
That intangible something that would help.
Knocking everything over, you finally got a hold of a much too large pillow and hugged it to your body.
It was large and not at all as firm as you wanted.
You needed a hard wall.
You needed that unrelenting nature.
You werenât something to be judged with heat.
You needed a cold light the sun couldnât supply.
The wall knocked.
You spun around with your pillow defense to find the back of a head waiting there.
âI come as an emissary.â Donnie spoke slow and methodical.
âYou can-!â It wasnât Mikey.
Your pillow fell slack into one hand.
It wasnât Mikey.
You let it drop with a thump to the floor.
It wasnât Mikey.
ââŠcome in.â
You took a wobbly step to spread out your clothed legs in hopes of keeping yourself upright.
Donnie didnât move.
âYou can⊠come inâŠâ You repeated, not sure if you had gotten the first phrase out.
âNo.â
âNoâŠ?â You took another step and saw how Donnie was clearly beyond the boundary of your open door.
With his back to you.Â
Not impeding on you in any way.Â
âThis is your space.â He spoke it like a finality.Â
You stared at the knot of his mask tails and tried to place what you felt.
âBeing out here with usâŠâ Donnie let the sentence hang before he lowered his gaze to the floor. âI want to⊠respect that much.â
âWhyâd you say it like that?â
âI prefer the term âsanctum,â but I couldnât fit it in.â
âA sacred placeâŠ?â
The back of his head nodded. âMy lab is supposed to be one.â
Sanctums werenât places to be invaded.
If they were then they were violated. Â
He understood.
Is that what you felt?
Camaraderie?
Even his mania in the beginning had been one you made sense of.
Was that why you hadnât complained?
No, you were rewriting history from your current perspective.
It was also the only one you knew.
It was one where you envied one man.Â
It was where you once feared another.Â
Now their roles were reversed.Â
You never had to explain your misery to Donnie.
You didnât have to make him understand.
He was the moon.
You rushed towards him.
Donnie heard the footsteps and made it about half a turn before you reached him. âAs⊠I was saying, I talked to Michael and come in his stead to-â
You collided with that unrelenting wall of plastron. Finding an odd hinge between the front of his shell and the back, you did your best to tuck into that space and weaseled under his arm. You felt it rise above you, out of your way and a rotation brought you more towards his front. There you felt him stop to take your over-clothed form in.
âIâm sorry!â You choked on tears, rooting the sound as deep against Donnieâs wet clothes as possible.
He let your misery hang for exactly one second.Â
Then he surrounded you in a soft moon glow.
He pulled you toward his chest and you burrowed closer to him.
âIâm sorry. Iâm so sorry. I completely overreacted. It was just too much⊠Too much attention⊠the way he looked. He said⊠I thought he wouldnât⊠I didnât wantâŠ!â
A hand pet through the layers of your back.
Even and careful.
No further connotation other than to soothe.
Squirming to get your arms out from where you were crushing them, you wiggled them free to embrace him.
You squeezed a sigh right out of him.
âI know.â He spoke into your damp head. âI knowâŠâ
You nodded and basked in the tide. Pulled by the moonâs orbit, the waves rolled in and out with a sway. A gentle rocking, you were cast a comfortable drift by it. This was the one you had longed for from the swimming hole. Here, you floated amongst sturdy shores. Held safe, the guiding white light poured around you. One that pushed back against the darkness, it shone on you. Lucky to be in its reach, it wasnât the type you soaked up. It instead washed over you in a cleanse. Feeling lighter and a little stifled, you extracted yourself from moisture to moisture.
Everything around you from your leaking face to the clingy pond water was soaked and you frowned down Donnieâs body. Standing in a little pool mostly created by him, you wanted to stick your tongue out at it, but you feared the bacteria clearly clinging to your skin.
âThe cabin is yours tonight.â
Before you could register the words, you felt him strengthen his resolve with a puff of his chest.
âI donât want to hear complaints otherwise.â
You wanted to pout.
âI checked the systems when we were doing our preliminary cleaning. The water will be hot. Shower, bathe, do whatever youâd like. Weâll be staying outside.â
You gave a faint nod to the wet floor.
âWeâll grill and Iâll make you a plate. Preference?â
You shook your head. âI donât⊠feel like eatingâŠâ
âBland it is.â
Now you were pouting.
âY/N.â
âYeah?â Your head felt heavy.
âI still have a message from Mikey to deliver.â
âI really donât want to hear it.â Irritation brought you to look at him.
Donnie took you in with a sort of smile. âYouâll want to.â
You dropped your features in a way that said you didnât believe him.
âHe said heâs not ready to talk as heâs having his own crisis, but heâll let you know when heâs ready to apologize.â Donnie tilted his head, almost amused.
You blinked straight out of your bitterness to stare openly.
Donnie gave a single knowing nod.
âEnjoy your shower.â With one last sweep over you as if to check you were all still there, Donnie turned and headed for the door.
Watching him go, you saw the faint amber hue of sunset.
âItâll all work out.â Donnie tossed just as he grabbed the knob to exit.
You turned and stormed straight to the bathroom. Drowning in clothes and scum, you locked the door tight and turned the shower knobs to their highest setting. Leaving the water to warm, you started removing your outermost shirt. As soon as it hit the ground you felt possessed. You tore off your clothes with each subsequent layer removed at a faster and faster pace. You needed to be freed. You needed that ridiculous protection off of you as soon as possible. All of it soiled, you stripped down bare and left your feet for last.
The moment they were naked and pressed to tile, you leapt into the old style tub. Instantly boiled by the too hot water, you let it scorch you with clenched teeth at first until the burn seared and you adjusted the dial for something reasonable. Still a lobster in a pot, you scrubbed your skin until you thought it might flake and then doused it in suds until you couldnât see its color. A sea of white foam, the second scrounge came through, washing the detritus away.
Pickled in the process, you emerged and greedily took up every towel in the room. It meant toeing around the disgusting mound of clothes youâd left, but Donnie had said the cabin was yours. Until tomorrow when youâd clean the place up, you instead mourned how you hadnât even brought your toothbrush in with you. Scowling at a fog coated mirror, you cracked the door and watched the steam leak out.
Chasing it with your ear, you didnât hear anything, but there was a distinct lemon scent.
You followed the smell into the hall where you quickly placed it was cleaner. The floor had a sheen to it that spoke of a recent mopping. The clean line ending abruptly at your door said exactly who the culprit was. Donatello had snuck back in to clean and you were thankful for it. Heâd left your sanctuary untouched and instead set a stool just outside the door.Â
On it was a stack of comfortable looking clothes and a note.
âKeep your room or upgrade. I recommend the one upstairs, second bedroom on the right.â
You folded the note along its lines and placed it back on the offered clothes. You then gathered the lot and took it with you along with a brave face as you entered your room. You barely looked up as you salvaged what you could from your duffel. Carrying the mostly limp sack, you then moved to follow your recommendation. It led you through the darkened cabin and up the winding wooden stairs where the door in question was closed. Knocking on it out of politeness, you found it empty and slipped inside. It was decorated similarly, but clearly different. Comfortable in its own sense, you went about your nightly routine as best you could and thanked the space for not having a mirror. Growing more weary by the second, you thought vaguely of meat as you instead pulled back the covers.
Sinking in and imagining charcoal lighting the menâs faces, you settled down into the welcoming embrace of bed.
You eventually got up and padded across a tiled floor.
Pulling out a single slick piece of black fabric, you double checked the door was closed before changing.
The perfect swimsuit was one you hadnât imagined youâd find.
What luck, you thought, as you slipped it on.
Stepping into it, you shimmied into the fabric and turned for that show stopping image in the changing room.
It was perfect.
It covered you in all the right ways.
Finally, the piece youâd been looking for.
Smiling and striking pose after pose, you saw a hand wave above the curtain.
âCome in!â You called to it.Â
Sanctumâs were only to be entered with permission.Â
âSilly.â You looked over your pleasing image once more. âIs it still a violation if I request it?â
âI guess not.â Instead of drawing the curtain back, Donnie slipped through it.
Tucking himself a strong wall behind you, he looked into the mirror at you.
What looked back held no heat, only appreciation.
âDo you like it?â He checked with you without passing judgment himself.
âI doâŠâ You smiled.
He gave one of his own, though subdued, and flicked his gaze down. âLook here.â
You lowered your gaze to find him kneeling behind you. With his head popped out around your hips, he was looking up at you in a way you liked quite a bit.
You felt powerful.
You were a light bright enough for him to want to project.
âThis ruching here has leading lines.â He didnât touch you, but his hands ghosted over you along the fabricâs pattern.
Your lips parted and your chest filled with heat.
A celestial body was meant to look on.
You were safe.Â
âMay I?â He asked you once again.Â
You were glad and responded with a breathless, âPlease.â
His mouth opened a dark orbital maw, a new moon, which then glinted into a teeth-filled waxing crescent headed in its trek to sink into your soft flesh.
You jolted the moment the teeth supposedly hit their mark.Â
You stared into the dark abyss and saw drifting images of sharpened grins.Â
You were dizzy.
A sheen of sweat to you, you tossed back a cover.Â
The black hovel above you took shape as logs in the cabin ceiling.Â
They lined up like thick thighs appearing from where board shorts had hiked up.Â
Begging for a taste.
Awareness struck with a sharp inhale.
Fully awake and doused with dread from your dream, you voiced your despair with a whisper.
âOh noâŠâ

Porcelain Steve - Part 3
Part OneđŠPart TwođŠPart ThreeđŠPart FourđŠPart FiveđŠPart SixđŠPart SevenđŠPart EightđŠPart Nine
Eddie hasn't moved from his spot on the Harrington's living room floor since El placed Steve back in his hands two hours ago except to switch his weight from side to side, depending on which buttcheek is currently numb. The mass exodus from the Byers-Hopper house to the Harringtons had taken less than 15 minutes and there has not been peace since, hence the remaining-on-the-floorness of it all for Eddie.
People stop by his stop in the living room to talk to Steve, looming over Eddie in their uncertainty. He stopped offering for people to take Steve after the third rejection because Eddie gets it; he's still the most chill about this (except Argyle, but Argyle is currently high, and Eddie is exceptionally sober and perhaps resenting that fact a bit) but he gets it. The situation is fucking freaky and maybe the thought of holding their transformed babysitter slash older brother figure slash hero might be a bit harrowing.
Of course, there's always an exception, so when Max lowers herself to the living room floor next to him, cane set down between them, and says, "Give him here." Eddie obeys, instructing her to hold her hands out so he can place Steve in them upright and facing her. Max's bones had healed alright, but she'd never get her vision back.
"Am I looking at his face?" She asks, gripping him around the waist with two hands like he's a messy hamburger.
Eddie can't actually tell from this angle if she's looking at his face but it's got to be close enough, so he says, "Yeah."
"Hey Steve," Max starts. "Everyone else is too much of a wuss to hold you but don't worry. They'll get over it. Not going to lie to you, though, this is pretty weird, but, like, mostly because I expected your body to be squishy, like a stuffed toy or those babydolls Holly drags around and forces us to take care of when we all hang out at the Wheeler's house. You know, the ones that are like soft with the plastic head, hands, and feet? That's what I expected." She runs one thumb up and down on his torso before tacking on, "ugh, this feels like a polo. Eddie, is he wearing a polo?"
"Yeah. I think he's in the outfit he was wearing when whatever happened happened. The polo was tucked into his jeans but Robin untucked it to check if there were scars on his lil' porcelain tummy."
"Are there?"
"Yeah. Painted on, Robin says. It's pretty accurate."
"Like, chest hair and all?"
"I... don't know? You'll have to ask Robin. She was the one holding him like two inches from her face."
Max's attention goes back to Steve. "I bet your tiny polo looks cute, simply because it's tiny. Only way a polo could be cute, Steve. I still can't believe you dress this way because you like it. And worse, I can't believe you actually pull off the look."
Eddie looks on, amused, as Max rambles from there. Which is an experience. Max isn't quiet by any means, but she's not a talk to fill the silence type, which is what this seems like. The topics are mundane, like how summer school is going, and about her plans to try and teach El how to skateboard using only verbal directions, and debating the pros and cons of trying to convince her mom to let her get a seeing-eye dog. Then, they make a turn Eddie didn't expect.
"I think I'm going to be mostly on babysitting duty instead of active research and rescue. You know, on account of the blindness and all. So, like, I hope you're going be okay just hanging out with me and listening to Kate Bush for hours."
He should not be feeling a twist in his gut of jealousy at the fact Max wants to take Porcelain Steve from him, and yet. "You gonna look after him, Max?"
She shrugs, turns her face towards Eddie, "I figured we'd all take turns babysitting. Might get boring for him otherwise. He'd drop everything to watch us, if this had happened to us. He has done that. We have to do the same for him. Plus, Steve likes to check in on us, don't you Steve? What better way than to give you, like, a day with everyone in rotation."
"Always the savior, never the saved, huh?" Eddie is trying to joke but Max's face twists into a frown and her arms lower for the first time, lower so Steve's little porcelain face stares up at the ceiling.
"No. Not always."
"Oh?"
"I saved him, once. From Billy. It was my fault he was even in danger," Max says, voice sad.
"I doubt it was your fault-"
"It was my brother trying to beat him to death," Max snaps and it shuts Eddie up quick. "And the only reason he was in the house, beating Steve to death, was because I couldn't follow the simple instruction of 'stay away from the window'. Steve could probably have gotten Billy to leave if I had. But I didn't listen, and Billy got in, and then he was threatening Lucas. He'd said 'you're dead, Sinclair' and then Steve had to be super lame but super cool at the same time by saying 'no, you are' and decking Billy in the face with, like, the full force of his body."
"That is a very lame thing to say."
"Right? Anyway, he was winning that fight until Billy cracked him over the head with a plate. Then it just went downhill so fast for Steve, and I was so sure I was about to watch my stepbrother murder someone. I-I don't even know what came over me, really. I'd never stood up to Billy before. I just knew I had to do something. There were these syringes filled with something that put you to sleep and I grabbed it and then I stabbed Billy with one and then threatening him with Steve's nailbat to never touch any of my friends again."
"Holy shit, Red. Metal as hell!"
She gives a small smile at that. "Well, the boys were basically useless so." She gives a shrug that suggests that sentence should have ended with what can you do?
"True. I've seen you girls in action. Scary and deadly."
Max looks down, then, back to Steve. "Alright, Steve. This is enough floor time for me. I'll yack your ears off later."
She holds Steve back out to Eddie, and he returns Steve to the place in his lap. She gathers her cane and pulls herself from the floor, calling out to see where El is, then presumably going off to find her.
"You really do have a tit-for-tat thing going on with these kids, don't ya?" Eddie chuckles, falling back into the quiet.
His mind does go back to Max and her story. Saving Steve from Billy. He's heard that story but never that part. Steve had given him a watered-down version that left out the fact Billy had threatened Lucas, and that Max had come to his rescue. He wonders if Steve even knows that part.
Had they told him? In Steve's version he's getting his ass beat, and then he's coming to in the back of Billy's car with Max at the wheel. It seems out of character for Steve to not take the time to brag about the kids.
Given the events of spring break of last year, and Max's complicated feelings towards Billy, maybe Steve does know the full story and it was left out intentionally. A thing left up to Max to tell or not, to have to relive. She's been better, doesn't bottle up the hard things anymore, even though it's not Eddie she talks to.
It's Steve.
Eddie feels a bit worse about his jealousy earlier. Of course, Max wants to spend time with Steve even if he can't talk back. He's been the stable male figure in her life for years, just like he's been for Dustin.
He looks up, really taking in the people around him. All the people that have gathered because they care about Steve. All the kids, their peers, Joyce, and Hopper, and some guy Eddie's never even heard of before named Murray.
Does Steve even know how much he means to everyone here?
He's going to ask Steve just that but Robin shouts from the dining area at the same time he opens his mouth, so he snaps his jaw shut and focuses in on that.
"Absolutely not! Those assholes dealt with StarCourt by burning it to the ground and that's it! What do you think they'll try and do to Steve!?" Robin's back is to Eddie, so he can't see her face, but he can see Nancy's, who she seems to be yelling at. Nancy looks determined.
"I'm not saying we go asking the shady government for help immediately! I just brought it up as an option for if we hit a dead end, or can't figure this out, or-" Nancy argues back, and Robin cuts her off.
"Shut up! We'll figure it out! We have before."
Nancy's face softens, looks sadder. "I know, Robin. I do. But how long do we try ourselves? How many days, weeks, months, do we just keep trying ourselves while Steve is stuck? We don't even have a starting point for fixing this, the least we can do is plan a time to ask for help."
"Nancy's right," Hopper says, even if he sounds upsetting about admitting it out loud. "We can trust Owens at least. He helped us."
"No, I'm with Freckles there. You cannot trust anyone in the government, Jim. How many times do you need to learn that lesson?" Murray says in a condescending tone (though Eddie hasn't heard any other tone from him, so maybe that's just his voice?).
Eddie finally stands from the floor. This feels like an argument he should join.

reader is dewey and gale's daughter and apart of the "core 5" (reader, mindy, chad, tara and sam) and dated amber freeman in the past. though has severe ptsd from what had happened a year ago (and the fact that reader saw her dad die and almost died with him, if it wasnt for the fact that they managed to stable her) and reader killed amber to avenge her father thinking by killing amber brutally would make up for dewey. thought if she hunted down her father's killer, she'd feel better.
present time, she's living with chad and ethan in their dorm. her and ethan are in a relatively healthy relationship, but she never opened up about amber or what exactly happened back in woodsboro because she wasnt ready. in fact, he never even seen her without a shirt on (because of the scars from amber and richie), but once he walked in at the wrong time while she was changing in complete accident (since they share a room) and he apologizes PROFUSELY but he cant help but stare. hes not even disgusted hes just kind of mesmerized by her. she gets insecure abt them and he lays her down and asks her abt them, how she got them. some scars were actually from stupid little things like slipping on a skateboard while carrying around a knife in a sheath that wasnt secured all the way so reader started carrying around switchblades after that (which she used to kill amber.) but he cant help but kiss them and tell her abt how beautiful she looks with them. so im just saying switch virgin! ethan and switch experienced reader (lost her v card to quinn first staying there but its a brief thing and isnt mentioned after that) just really soft sex between the two, ethan being a caring bf and after, realizes hes fucked up because hes genuinely fallen heads over heels for the girl he should hate. he knows he cant kill her, so now he doesnt know whats more important; avenging richie or being with the one he loves. choosing between his family, or choosing a life he wouldn't have with anyone else with someone that he loves more than life itself.
may had of gone overboard but im in love w this whole idea

virgin! Ethan Landry x female! Reader
Ethan didn't ask about the scars for a week.
He didn't act any different despite seeing the ugly healed-up wounds all over your skin. Despite some of them being from playing around, most were from your fight with the Ghostfaces.
You thought he would be disgusted when he first saw them, the one second before he had closed his eyes, but there was no visible disgust on his face. Only concern.
And he had apologized so much that you practically pitied him.
Even now that you were on his lap, your lips tangled with his in a heated kiss. His hand on your nape, another hand on your hip. He hadn't ventured far yet, being as respectful as he could be.
All the while you felt yourself getting needy for his touch. After another heated kiss, you pulled back, a string of saliva connecting your lips. Ethan's face was flushed with a crimson red, breathless from the kiss.
The hand on your hip went near the hem of your shirt and you felt yourself tense. "Can I?" He asked softly. You give him a nod, anticipating this time, he would feel disgusted. That he would leave you heartbroken.
He took off the shirt, his breath caught in his chest as your scars came into view.
The gashes were all over your skin. White healed tissue tinged with pink. "How?" He lets out a choked whisper. "Would you mind telling me how?" He said, again, his eyes looking into your so tenderly with no hint of disdain.
Taking in a deep breath, you nod and begin to tell your story, everything from your father dying and you killing Amber to get revenge, for the wounds you got from the fight. Everything.
"I know they aren't the prettiest to look at," you whispered, "I know I understand if you don't want to stay with m-" "Don't even finish that sentence," Ethan interrupted.
"Don't," he said in a firm tone, making you look up at him. His eyes were filled with tears even if they didn't fall, he pulled you in for a hug. "You went through so much," he whispered, his voice filled with emotions, filled with care and love.
"Let me take care of you, they're not pretty but they're a part of you and I love these scars just as much as I love you." He said you felt yourself nearly getting to tears as well from his words but held yourself back.
"Okay," you whispered, "Take care of me."
And that's how you end up under him, bare for his lips to kiss all over your scarred skin. You let out encouraging purrs as his kisses travel down from your neck to your collarbone. A small cut was there due to negligence while handling knives. He licked the edges of the scar. You sighed as he continued to worship your body.
He finally reached your torso, and a huge gash was there. He had stopped kissing your skin now, staring at the pinkish tissue that was a huge contrast against your skin.
'Now,' you thought to yourself, 'He's gonna realize that you're just not worth it, not with all the baggage and the scars on your skin that come with it.'
"I wish I could kill them," he whispered, his lips brushing against the scar. His words made you melt because it was tinged with truth. There was no doubt in his mind that he would kill them if he had the chance.
He pressed wet kisses onto the scar, making you let out a small sigh. He then crawled on top of you again. His voice was filled with nerves as he whispered, "I have never done this before."
You cup his face with both of your hands and pressed a small kiss on his forehead. "I have," you whispered, you had lost your virginity to Quinn so you were at least aware of what you liked or not.
"I could teach you," you offered, "Figure out what we like or not together." His doe eyes fill with relief and he gives you a smile as an affirmation.
"I would love that," he said, leaning down for another kiss as his hand traveled down to your soaked panties. He lets out a gasp into your mouth as he feels the material cling to your fold.
He panted, "Oh- you're so wet. Is that all for me, darling?" The way he asked made your cunt clench, so breathless and in wonder. "Yeah, E," you whine as his fingers glide on your clothed pussy, the slight friction making you gush out more juices.
"Can I take it off?" he asked, and you nod. He slides down the panties, and throws them on the floor, making a mental note to take it for himself later.
He pressed his fingers to your folds, sliding them across your cunt until the tip of his finger finds your entrance. You let out a small gasp, feeling yourself clench. "Can I?' He whispered, and again you nod. "Go ahead, E," you whispered.
The first digit enters, making him whimper about how tight you are, and how warm your insides feel. Your inner walls pulsate around the single digit.
He pumps the digit in and out before his index finger also joins. A whimper escapes your lips as your pussy stretches to accommodate his digits. "Is it good?" He asked, the nervousness mixed with heat in his tone.
"Perfect," you assure him, "Just crook your fingers a bit and you'll find a spot, focus on that for me, E." He eagerly does what you asked, his fingers finding your G-spot and pressing into it every time he thrusts his digits inside.
You moan, your hips bucking into his touch. Getting a bit more confidence from your pleasurable sounds, Ethan goes even faster. Your walls begin to pulse with the familiar need to snap the tension that was building but you didn't wanna cum so soon.
"Stop," you whispered and Ethan pulled back immediately with a questioning gaze. "Did I do something wrong?" He asked, concerned, "Did I hurt you? I am sorry."
You chuckled, "Nothing like that, my love. I was closeâŠ" You bite your lip, hesitating about saying the words that you knew would sound crude, "Wanna cum on your cock for the first time."
His eyes widened at your request. He nods obediently, pulling off his shirt with one hand and taking off his belt so he can slip out from the rest of his clothes.
His cock looked painfully hard with his cockslit leaking pre-cum all over his length. He stroked his cock to elevate some of his own needs.
"You don't have to if you don't want to," he whispered, as he slotted his girth near your entrance. His cockhead getting coated into your slick. You shake your head, "I want it, Ethan. So much."
He gives you a nod. He buries his face into the crook of your neck as he slowly slides into your warmth. Inch by inch, his cock stretches out your pussy, your inner walls molding into the shape of his length. He lets out whines as his veins sizzle with pleasure.
You felt his dick pulse and twitch as he whined, "Gonna cum. Gonna cum. Fuck, fuck, fuck-" Your hand goes to his hair to harshly tug at the brown curls. Effectively distracting him from the overwhelming pleasure. "Sushh, baby," you whispered, "It's okay. It's okay." He groans, "BabeâŠ" You hum in reassurance. You make your pussy clench around his dick. Your walls squeezing his cock so suddenly makes his hips jerk into you, his cockhead grazing your g-spot.
You moan near his ear. "Like that," you whispered, "Take care of me."
It took him a few more moments to get used to the vice grip on his cock, the wetness, and the warmth before he began shallowly thrust into you.
He pressed kisses all over your neck, your throat, your breasts. Marking the places near your scars so you can remember this night. Both of you let out noises of pleasure.
He begins to thrust deeper than before as your nails dig into his back and he gets faster as well. Humping into you now, his mind getting lost in the sensation of your velvet heat.
"Am I doing all right?" He whines as his hips keep meeting yours. "Perfect," you moan in reply. His hips begin to snap faster, his thrusts deeper than before, filling you up. You moan louder as you keep getting filled with his cock. Your pussy begins to spasm around his length as the heat fills your tummy.
You were getting close with each snap of his hips. "You getting close, baby?" He moans, his lips now brushing against yours. "Cum on my dick, please, babe!" He begs, as he gets more desperate, his thrusts getting sloppy and losing their consistent pace.
Your free hand goes down to your folds to find your clit. Your thumb rubs fast circles onto the bud. You felt the telltale signs of your climax. Your stomach is coiling, just waiting to explode.
"Please, cum on my cock," Ethan whines again, his lips crashing with yours in a filthy open-mouth kiss. That snapped the tension your body was holding, you moaned into his mouth as your pussy began to squeeze his cock repeatedly. Your cunt milking his cock for all its worth. As soon as he feels your inner walls spasm and contract with a shallow thrust, he begins to cum.
He pants as his cum leaks out, too fucked out to pull out. You were both tired. Both emotionally and physically drained, it doesn't take long for you to sleep.
Ethan lays awake though, feeling the heat of your body beside him. Hearing you breath. He closed his eyes, and an image was in front. In which you're dead and cold.
He couldn't have that. He can't kill you anymore. Not after this. Not after promising forever with you, not after marking you and kissing your every scar.
He would have to choose in the future and he would choose you.

One (1) New Reply
I finally wrote my prompt I sent to @stealingyourbones back in November! well part of it. This is just chapter 1, so this gets a summary @dpxdcshipweek
Edit: forgot to say that I got help with the usernames from the wonderful @tourettesdog and @half-dead-ham! (If I'm wrong it's bc I'm not at home rn to look at my notes)
Ao3 link: Here Master List: Here
Summary: Danny has always had more internet access than a child really should have had. He tended to spend that time on game forums and different websites dedicated to space. Everyone once in a while he'd venture onto one about heroes and villains. That's how he met Tim Drake-Wayne or BatShadow as was his username back then.
Chapter 1: Blorbo Supplier
Danny just wanted to see uncommon pictures of Superman. It really shouldn't have been this hard. He's an alien, there should be a lot of pictures of him. Frustrated with his lack of results he resorts to looking for the pictures through unpopular social media websites that should have new pictures. His first look didn't meet his goal, and before he could even think of trying again he was distracted by a post. It was a picture of a figure swinging between skyscrapers, backlit by neon light all against a smog filled sky. It was stunning and made all the more captivating by the identity of the subject in the photo. A picture of Batman, The Batman, taken in a way that you couldn't deny it was him. That was impressive on its own, but the quality is what made it shine. Danny had to see if the account had more pictures of Batman, or even other heroes. Looking at the blog, hoping it wasn't a deactivated user, he finds the posts of BatShadow.Â
The blog is a gold mine of pictures of Batman and Robin with some villains the duo we're fighting. All with stunning quality, with each subject undeniable as who they were but still giving a sense of privacy. Sadly, Danny couldn't find any other heroes pictured, but Danny could live with that. Batman was his third favorite hero, he blames Sam and all her knowledge on the edgy and obscure. She would be ecstatic about these photos, too bad he wasn't going to tell her. He was being petty. Sam should have known better than to say he couldn't keep a secret, so this is his secret now! Pettiness aside, Danny was going to message BatShadow to see if they had pictures of other heroes they hadn't posted.
Messages begins with BatShadow
(04-17-20xx)
ConstellationCruiser:
Hey, sorry to bother ya
I just saw your posts and was wondering if you have any pics of superman
BatShadow:
I don't know. I would have to look. I don't usually go to an area with him in it much, so no promises.
ConstellationCruiser:Â
Thanks!! And that's fine really, it's just that your pics are amazing
BatShadow:
Thanks! Sorry, I have nothing for Supes.
ConstellationCruiser:
Damn
It's fineÂ
I wasn't really expecting much
I'm just surprised at the quality and quantity ya got there
BatShadow:Â
It's super hard to get them without being caught but so worth it!
Danny continued talking to BatShadow about pictures and superheroes. Eventually switching to personal interest. Danny learns that BatShadow skateboards and in turn he tells them all about the stars. By the end of their conversation it was well into the night, Jazz wasn't going to be pleased. It was worth it though.
â-----
Danny ended up messaging again the next day, and the day after that. The other user was interesting and he was just so broad. Especially during these long summer days where Sam was off at some gala trip and Tucker was on vacation with his family. His parents being busy in the Lab at all hours and Jazz working a summer job didn't help. Even with Jazz trying to get him out of the house but it never really was worth it. Not with Dash and his gaggle out. Not without his friends there.
It's not like anyone besides Jazz would care about what he was doing online. Their parents were too caught up in drawing out plans and blueprints for a ghost portal or something. He doesn't care, it's more of the same for him. Don't get him wrong, he loved his parents and they loved him. They just pay more attention to their inventions, and this one happens to be one Danny can't help out with.
He's getting distracted. Danny was supposed to be cleaning the lab, not thinking of long gone days. It was taking way longer than he thought it would. His parents really aren't as careful with their samples as they really should be. After cleaning spilled ectoplasm from the vent grates he will finally be done, then he can get on the computer and add BatShadow on Steam. They were going to play Portal 2 together later.
â----
Tim didn't think he would still be talking to ConstellationCruiser. It was unexpected, but not unwelcome. He wouldn't admit it to anyone, (if there was anyone to talk to in the first place), but he was lonely. So, sue him if he got attached to the other kid with too much free time on their hands. They may not have told each other their ages but it wasn't hard to figure out, they talked too similar.
It was nice to really connect with someone his age. ConstellationCruiser was smart like him, just in different areas. He had learned more about the stars and space travel in the last handful of months than he ever had in his 12 years of life. He knows he wasn't any better, going on about hacking and maybe the new murder mystery that came out. It was fun, learning about the other's interests and different things than what's normal for them.Â
ConstellationCruiser's parents seem to have some type of lab in the basement of their house, which was cool in concept but concerning in practice. There have been times where they had to stop in the middle of a game they were playing together to check on an explosion they heard. It happened more than Tim was comfortable with but there's nothing he can really do about it. It's not like he was anyone better about certain aspects of his life either. He avoided the topic of food as much as possible, though it seems ConstellationCruiser is doing the same thing with the topic.
Tim just hopes the other won't worry over him not responding the next couple of days. He probably should warn them but this is time sensitive. Batman needs a Robin. The man is running himself into the ground. His new found grief choking him and by extension Gotham. He has to convince Nightwing to come back, no matter what it takes.

i lost my heart
break & make up series
reki kyan x gn! reader
theme: angst
warning: none, probably too much dialog?
summary: (name) have always been supportive toward Reki, their boyfriend. but there were limits to what they could endure for so long.
notes: working on an old ask that i found last night! decided to make it into a short series starting off with reki first lol. been listening to sad songs lately, so here's what i came up with for him. hope you enjoy! comments, reblogs, tags, & other feedback are appreciated!
laughter could be heard from one of the classrooms in the hall of the school. (color) eyes blinked as they tried to figure out which room inhabited the owners of the laughs. their feet began to move down the hall toward a familiar classroom, one they visited often to pick up a certain redhead for lunch or to go home together. The voices grew louder as the student reached the room, finding the door opened the slightest for them to peek in. There they were. Their boyfriend and his best friend. Reki and Langa. Both seated next to one another, slumped down on the surface of their desks, shoulder to shoulder, focused on watching a video of what they assumed was another skater doing some tricks.
It shouldn't bother them. They were simply just friends. Nothing more, nothing else.
Yet their heart ached when Reki turned to the bluehead with that cheeky grin of his as he made a comment about the skater in the video. It was usually (name) he made commentary about those videos, even if they didn't understand skateboarding or found it interesting to get into it. They loved their boyfriend, though. So, they were willing to support any hobby or interest Reki had. But now he has Langa. Someone who shared the same interests as Reki, even if it was from another yet similar perspective.
(name) watched silently, his eyes staring at the two buddies as they enjoyed their presences with each other.
It had been months since Langaâs transfer to their school. And it was on the second week that (name) was bailed on a hangout with his boyfriend, Reki using the excuse of âtrainingâ Langa how to skateboard. It didn't bother them back then. They found it as a pleasing relief that Reki befriended someone to share his hobby with. Reki tried to get (name) into skateboarding but they never really were fond of rolling down some hill or jumping off stairway for some trick that could risk them a few minor injuries. And they believed Reki was fine with that fact, seeing that his partner was at least interested in watching the videos with him and was supportive during the âbeefsâ he had with other skaters.
But now they were no longer needed for that. Reki had more friends now.
They should be happy for him. They were happy⊠So why does their heart still hurt whenever they see Reki and Langa together?
âHahah! See the way he did that ollie off the rails! So awesome!â Their boyfriend's exciting words plagued their mind, bringing them back to reality. Langa nodded along, pointing out with comments of his own about the skater's skills.
(name) looked down at the ground as they backed away from the sliding doors. There was nothing to be jealous of. They were simply good friends. That was all.
The two boysâ heads turned to the doors as they opened, revealing (name) with a brief smile on their face.
âAh, (name)! what's up, babe?â Reki greeted his partner as they walked over to the duo, their smile growing a bit. Langa greeted them as well with a small smile of his own and a short wave, putting the phone down after pausing the video.
âReki, Langa, hi⊠I was searching for you down by the shoe lockers but didn't see you there. A classmate of yours told me you were here.â They said, their hands settled by their side and curled up into a weak fist. Reki blinked a few times before his expression switched to a surprise look before falling into an apologetic one. âWe were going on a date, remember?â they added with a tilt of their head, their chest feeling heavy once more.
Reki glanced at Langa as he bit his lower lip, his face morphed into a guilty expression. Langa wore a similar look but kept it lowkey as he pressed his lips into a thin line, giving Reki a small shrug. âSorry, (name)... I kinda forgot about that⊠Made plans for, you know, theââ
âS?â They finished for him. Reki grew more horrible as he nodded. Of course. they thought. Skateboarding this, skateboarding that.
âBut it's because Langa got beef with this one guy! You know, that rabbit kid with the wire-like vines!â Reki began, his eyes shining like the setting sun. Of course. Langa this. Langa that.
Always about skateboarding. Always about Langa.
When would it be about us? they thought, giving Reki a fruitless smile, one not reaching their eyes like they used to whenever they were around Reki. âThat's fine. We can just reschedule.â (name) said, turning away from the boys to make their leave.
âWhy don't you come watch with us, (name)?â Reki asked, feeling bad for messing up the date plans. His partner shook their head, giving them a wave as their back was turned on the duo.
âNo, it's fine. I can't be out that late, anyway. Enjoy your time and be careful.â They said, giving them a quick glance and smile before leaving the classroom. Their heart beat rapidly against their chest but not in a good way like it had done around Reki. Their vision was becoming blurry. Their breathing became sharp as they tried to control themselves. They shouldn't be bothered⊠yet they were. It hurt. It hurts how much Reki forgot their dates. This wasn't the first time. Was Langa and skateboarding that important to him? What about them? Were they boring? Uncool? Uptight?
Was the spark dying?
A sob suttered out of their mouth quietly, held back with so much force to avoid getting attention.
Had the spark died long ago and they were just clinging to a thread no longer tied to the other side?
(name) went home that night. tired and upset. crying their eyes out on their pillow. their phone vibrated with texts from Reki, but of course, only about praising Langa's win against the skater they talked about earlier. It truly hurts them. But just how long did they plan to keep up with the aching? How long could they make themselves stay in a relationship where they were no longer the center of attention in their boyfriend's eyes? Were they even in his mind at all? Did he still love them?
Staring at the ceiling after a small breakdown, (name) made up their mind.
âAh, (name), what's up? what did you want to talk about?â Reki asked as he met up with his partner beneath the stairs in one the the school halls. It was the end of the school days. Students heading home. But (name) had other plans, ones they forced themself to take. Reki noticed his partner avoided eye contact and the air around them felt heavy. There was an uneasy feeling in his guts making itself known more ever since he read the text to meet up there. The (color) haired student wore a serious expression, one Reki didn't like to see often.
âwe⊠we need to talk, Reki.â (name) started, finally making themself look into the redhead's frowning eyes. Reki gave a nod, his gut feeling growing heavier. âI've been thinking about this decision for awhile andâŠi-it wasn't an easy one. I tried to ignore this horrible feeling but in the end it won.â the student said, their voice low and soft. âI wanted to keep trying, give you more chances, but there's a limit to that.â
â(name)ââ
âPlease let me finish.â
Rekiâs own words paused in the back of his throat. He gave a hesitant nod and let (name) continue, even if he didn't want to as he knew where the conversation was heading.
(name) took a deep, shaky breath, feeling their eyes glossed with tears. âI loved you. And I still do⊠but I don't think that spark is here anymore. Ever since Langa came, all you focused on was skateboarding and him, never making time for our dates or ditching me to hangout with him instead.â
âwhat? (name)ââ Reki was taken back by (name)âs words.
âI know I don't find skateboarding as cool and interesting as you guys do, and I hate getting on one. I was happy you found a friend you could relate to but I-IâŠâ Their heart ached heavily against their chest, wiping away the tears threatening to spill. âI hate feeling like this. like, like⊠I'm just a b-background character to you. li-like I don't matter an-anymore. I hate feeling horrible a-about disliking Langa and skateboarding for ta-taking you away from me.â (name) looked down at the ground, their brows furrowed down, their lower lip quivering to let out a sob. âYesterday was our first year anniversaryâŠâ
Reki's eyes widened toward the information, his own chest ridden with guilt.
âIt was our anniversary of being together⊠a-and you decided to spend it with him and that stupid S parkâŠâ (name) closed their eyes as they took another shaky breath to calm themself down. âIt hurts. being left out and forgotten. I want to keep supporting you. keep loving you⊠but I can't. I can't keep doing this.â letting out a soft whimper, the student turned their back on Reki. âIt's over, Kyan. I'm. sorry.â with those words finally out, (name) walked away as quickly as they could.
His last name was used. what a horrible feeling to have in his chest. He never liked when (name) called him by his last name, told them it felt like they were breaking up.
and they were.
Reki stood under the stairs with a shocked look on his face. his gaze heavily stared down on the spot his⊠ex-partner was in.
âno wayâŠâ Reki muttered under his breath, slowly yet forcibly made himself walk away from the stairs. He knew he shouldn't be mad at (name) for coming to a decision to end their relationship, but he figured he would have enough time to make up for it. seemed he was wrong. Reki should have known (name) was bothered with the way their relationship was heading. He didn't mean it. the skater didn't mean to forget their dates. especially one as important as their anniversary. wow⊠he was a horrible boyfriend. What kind of boyfriend doesn't pick up the way his partner acted? Reki clicked his tongue as he shoved his hands into his pockets. He should have known (name) wouldn't let it go this time. He hoped the other would understand⊠but he knew it wasn't their fault. He had been ignoring his ex-partner for a while, but Reki thought they would be okay with it.
A sigh left his lips. Man, he was a terrible boyfriend. He made (name) felt unimportant to him. Reki bit his lower lip back. There was no way (name) would want to get back together, even if he tried to win them back and prove he did love them more than skateboarding. They made up their mind. And Reki should support that, at the very least.

Song Mingi, one of the biggest and scariest demons in all of hell. Although, he is not as scary as the designated big three (Seonghwa, Hongjoong, and San)
demon!Mingi, who actually has the softest heart out of all his demonic brothers
demon!Mingi, who is only pinned as scary due to his height, piercing wolf-like eyes, and cold expression on his face
demon!Mingi, who had no interest in opening his heart to anyone since he assumes everyone will just break it without remorse
demon!Mingi, who breaks hearts first so he can protect his
demon!Mingi, who grows bored one day and decides to visit Earth
demon!Mingi, whose human disguise is just as gorgeous as the rest of himÂ
demon!Mingi, who has a deep love for r&b and would always search for the best tracks by asking people for recommendations since phones arenât allowed in hell
demon!Mingi, who is just strolling around the park one day when he encounters you
demon!Mingi, whose heart races when he sees you on the bench, drawing the surroundings on a sketch pad
demon!Mingi, who stands afar as his vision is focused on you as the graphite of the pencil scratches the thick surface of the sketch padâs paper
demon!Mingi, who finds himself slowly falling in love with you more and more as he stares dreamily at you
demon!Mingi, whose eyes grow wide at the sight of two gigantic angel wings sticking out of your back. Due to his enhanced vision, he can see who is human and who is of supernatural origin
demon!Mingi, whose eyes then narrow back into slits as he sees a group of immature human boys skate up to you and try to flirt with you
demon!Mingi, who has a small grin on his face as you looked up at the boys and blatantly told them that you werenât interested
demon!Mingi, who has the grin disappear on his face when the leader of that skate group opens up his cup of cheap soda and pours it all over your sketch pad and your hair, which you worked so hard to straighten, only for it to go down a sticky and processed sugary drain
demon!Mingi, who feels his palms heat up as you sit there dejected with your head hung low and your ruined sketch clutched tightly against your chest as the boys laugh at you and even try to touch your ruined hair
demon!Mingi, who had absolutely enough of these silly humans belittling you and decided to take matters into his own hands
demon!Mingi, who switches outfits. He went from a casual guy walking around the city to a wealthy businessman with a freezing aura surrounding him

âAre you done harassing this young and clearly uninterested person here?â
âH-Hey, man. We were just joking around! Tell him, babe.â
âI donât know them, sirâŠâ
demon!Mingi, whose heart clenched in pain upon hearing your small and fragile voice.Â
demon!Mingi, who decides to forget the rules of demon and angel interactions momentarily so he can help you out
demon!Mingi, who grabs one of the boysâ skateboards and breaks it in half easily before chucking it behind him
âWatch that tongue of yours, boy. Or else your skateboard wonât be the only one being broken in half. Either apologize or leave should you stay so righteously stubborn in your intrepid words.â
demon!Mingi, who feels satisfaction upon seeing the human boys practically piss themselves as they throw stuttered apologies at you and run away crying
demon!Mingi, who turns around and feels his hardened resolve soften upon seeing your angelic features stare up at him with gratitude. From your big eyes down to your pouty lips
âI know that angels arenât really supposed to interact with demons, but I just want to say thank you for standing up for me. Um⊠Iâm in your debt.â
âHush, my darling. You are in no debt to me. I only did this because itâs the right thing to do.â
demon!Mingi, who sits beside you yet keeps a respectable space in between you both
demon!Mingi, who smiles shyly when he sees you scoot closer to him and lay your head on one of his broad shoulders, ignoring the way his heart was beating rapidly
âCome, little one. Iâll take you back to your place so you can shower and maybe finish your drawing.â
âItâs ok. Itâs not like Iâm serious about my sketches. This one was just a basic one anyway.â
demon!Mingi, who couldnât help the smile growing bigger on his face as you ramble about sketches and art
demon!Mingi, who found himself walking with you back to your apartment as you kept rambling on and on. Not that he was complaining of course. He found it cute and endearing
demon!Mingi, who now finds himself standing in your small apartment as you set down your sketch pad on the kitchen counter to fetch him something to drink. In all honesty, he never predicted to find himself in this situation, yet here he was.Â
demon!Mingi, who found your collection of small penguin plushies sitting on the windowsill next to some plants and finding it so adorable.Â
demon!Mingi, who was now sitting on the couch, listening to you as you moved on from sketches. You were now ranting about how not all demons were bad and that he was an example
demon!Mingi, who couldnât help but to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear as he scooted closer to you
demon!Mingi, who had to stop himself from cooing at the sight of your blushing face and bashful nature
âI never got your name by the way, sir!â
âOh⊠itâs Song Mingi.â
âHi! Iâm Y/N. Nice to meet you, Mingi!â
demon!Mingi, who blushed as well as he felt you hug him with not only your arms but also your wings. If an angel wraps their wings around you, it meant that you were trustworthy
demon!Mingi, who pulled back and couldnât help but stare at your lips for a while before shaking his head and looking away
âIâm sorry. I couldnât help it. Youâre so pretty. Alas, I canât do what Iâve desired to do. While relationships between angels and demons arenât prohibited, it is looked down upon. I donât want you to be looked down upon and I especially donât want to take away your innocence. You deserve someone better than meâŠâ
demon!Mingi, who grew surprised when he felt your small hand caress his cheek gently and wipe away a stray tear that apparently fell from his eye
âItâs ok, Mingi. We can figure something out. For now⊠please donât leave. I like your presence.â
demon!Mingi, who couldnât help but cradle your face in his huge hands and felt his heart blossom with so much love as he saw you lean into his touch
âIâll stay with you for as long as you need. I am here for you.â
demon!Mingi, who felt at home when you fell asleep in his arms after you had showered, dried your hair, and climbed into bed with him
âIâll protect you until my last breath.â Mingi whispered under his breath affectionately as he kissed your forehead and fell asleep

S/O fell off the bed sleeping with Raphael (Oneshot)
Raph x fem!reader (Short fic)
Summary: Raph's S/O fell down to the floor from sleeping with Raph. Reader is 5'2 or below. (Shoutout to short readers) :3
Raphael is both tall and broad. His body can cover an entire bed space; what more to say when y/n was only 5'2 and she wasn't exactly chubby nor slim. She's a thicc chick.
y/n decided to sleep over at the lair because 1) training with Splinter starts early morning and 2) her house was a 20 minute walk. She felt she was exhausted to walk and asked permission to sleep over. Of course the Hamato family didn't mind. She is their family now.
It was [12:45am] when their movie Halloween was over and Mikey switched off the tv when he grabbed Donnie's arm while shaking.
"D-Donnie, you don't think Michael Myers is in the sewers while we're sleeping, do you?"
"Mikey, you're referring to Pennywise and he's from IT. Halloween murders occurs every Halloween, like the title is self explanatory enough." Donnie let out an exasperated sigh. "Seriously, why did you pick that movie when you know you're terror-stricken by it?"
"We all know what's going to happen; you'd stay up all night reading any comics with funny scenes in it and laughed so loud even Sensei's noise cancelling headphones don't work." Leo shook his head.
y/n looked up at Raph confused. As if he knows what she's about to ask, he waved it off. "Sensei requested it after Mikey got his first stereo box. It was my fault though; I brought it back after I kinda broke Mikey's-"
"My skateboard, brah!" Mikey retorted.
~~~
Everyone was fast asleep by [1:17am] including Mikey- well, he's trying anyway. He cuddled his teddy bear and mumbled something pizzas and interacting with humans above.
y/n was slump on Raph's plastron/chest as it goes up and down slowly. His right hand placed on her back to keep her in position. To an outsider, it was a cute sight but from where's laid, she can faintly hear snores from her mutant boyfriend and groaned when it got louder. Her hand tapped on Raph's chest as a way to say keep it down but instead of lowering it down, he snorted in his sleep and surprised y/n, her body jolted from shock and ended up on the floor with a loud thud.
"Damn it, Raph." y/n whispered through her gritted teeth and rubbed her aching lower back.
Raph woke up immediately by the thud and saw her on the floor with an annoyed expression.
"What are you doing on the floor, darling?"
"Looking for any expired pizza under your bed," y/n rolled her eyes. "For god's sake, Raph, snore louder next time. I can't hear it from down here."
Raph chuckled tiredly and carried y/n back to bed, placing his arm around her while he lied on his side.
"Did you hurt yourself?" he didn't forget to ask.
"I might break my hips. Maybe I should skip-"
"You ain't skipping Sensei's training." His eyes already closed but his lips formed into a coy smile.
Real Recognises Real
[I've been admiring the work of @idesofrevolution for a good while now, and I really wanted to give a go at writing a transformation story. Granted I don't have any pictures of hot guys, I'll leave it up to your imaginations. Hope you will all enjoy]
Tom and Eric worked at an envelope factory, despite them only knowing each other for 4 months, the two quickly became friends. Granted shift patterns would often keep them off the same shift, they always enjoyed working on the machines together when they did, laughing and clowning around but getting the job done.
Eric had infact worked at the company a couple of years before whilst Tom joined a few months before Eric came back. Perhaps it was Tom's kind nature, but Eric soon came to trust Tom and open up about things going on in his own life, especially about the passing of a close friend of his, Anthony.
During one morning shift, Eric came down from further up the machine to let Tom know about a changeover the managers had just told him about. 'Hey buddy, just heard from Jake, we've gotta switch over to Size 4s, an urgent order just came in' said Eric. 'For fuck's sake, can't they just stick to the plan for a week for once?' moaned Tom. Eric nodded. 'I know mate, I'll go get the paper ready, you finish up this pallet and stop the machine' said Eric. Tom gave him the thumbs up and a tired smile. 'Hang in there Tom, if you'd like you can come over mine for a few beers in my garage tonight' winked Eric walking off.
Tom was quite surprised, he and Eric used to go out to town after work for a couple of pints but had never actually been to Eric's place. Tom thought about what he should wear. For such a good pair of friends, they both led very different lives outside of work. Eric would often skateboard with friends, play electric guitar, smoke blunts and the like whilst Tom enjoyed his own company, drawing, playing video games and attending conventions around the country. Tom remembered the first time Eric came over to his place he found Tom's Keyblade and had a fun time swinging it around and talking Kingdom Hearts for a while, playing Tekken 3. They both found a lot of respect for eachother's lifestyles.
After work Eric had to hurry off, but he texted Tom his address and told him to come around about 8pm. This gave Tom plenty of time to decide what to wear, settling on his favourite black shirt with rolled up sleeves, blue jeans and white trainers. It felt casual but a bit stylish. Tom set off to find Eric's house, eventually finding it. He knocked on the garage door and shortly after it swung up revealing Eric still in his work shirt but sporting shorts rather than the work cargo trousers everyone was provided.
'Ah, welcome in Squire!' said Eric, stepping aside and beckoning for him to come in. Tom chuckled and went in, finding a seat. Eric would often speak in silly voices at work, often calling Tom 'Squire' and making sentences that rhymed with the word, like desire, fire, drier, etc. For Tom it was a big reason why he loved Eric so much. 'Ooooh, you're dressed up all nice tonight Tommy!' said Eric looking him up and down, then proceeding to his chair where he'd put his guitar, sitting down, placing the guitar on his lap and sparking up a cigarette. 'Oh yeah drinks are in the fridge, help yourself' said Eric, pointing to the fridge on Tom's left. Tom looked inside, found a couple of Tyskies and shut the door, putting one on the table next to Eric. Eric looked up from his guitar strumming, smiled and said 'Cheers buddy!'. Tom found a seat, opened his can and sighed, taking a sip. Still strumming away, connecting some choice notes, Eric looked to Tom. 'What's up mate?' asked Eric. Tom shrugged his shoulders. 'Same shit, different day at work really isn't it?' asked Tom. Eric nodded in sad agreement. 'Oh, did you talk to Jake about training to become an operator on the machines?' asked Eric. 'Yeah, but he said they're busy training Jovanie at the moment, when he's all trained up they might see about finally getting me trained up!' said Tom sarcastically. 'You've been at the company 9 months now, right?' asked Eric, to which Tom nodded. 'It's a fucking joke man, you came along, they went and made Vince an operator, he left, Terry came and got trained, now he's a fucking knob and now they're passing you over again for Jovanie. It's bullshit!' said Eric. Tom took another sip of his drink. 'Yeah, I mean being an assistant is fine but it just sucks getting passed over for a job so many times. I had enough of that back at the food factory I was in a few years back' said Tom. Eric nodded and strummed away thoughtfully.
'Tom, I really want to teach you how to be an operator, trouble is we just never get the time. We both work hard, we both know this' said Eric, looking to Tom. 'Yeah, don't we fucking know it. Sorry I didn't bring my notebook if you're gonna give me some pointers now' said Tom, looking out the garage window, taking a drink. 'Well I've got an idea, but you'd need to call in sick tomorrow' said Eric absent-mindedly, looking out the same window. 'Oh yeah, why?' asked Tom expecting a good reason. 'Because I'll need you inside me' said Eric, strumming dramatically. Tom spat his drink out in shock and coughed, Eric looked to his friend and cackled. 'What the fuck Eric?!' shouted Tom, wiping his mouth on the back of his hand and looking to Eric in disbelief. 'Well think about it buddy, I know you like me and honestly I like you too' said Eric, looking Tom dead in the eyes. It was true, Tom did like Eric a lot, he was decently built, dark haired and bearded with the perkiest ass he'd seen on a man, plus he kept him laughing through the tough shifts, but never did he expect an actual invitation like that.
'I mean, what good will that do? What, I sleep with you one night and you put in a good word to Jake for me?' asked Tom. Eric took a drag of his cigarette and shook his head. 'Nah man, it's like this. You helped me out a lot the past couple of months. When we met, you asked if I was ok, I said no and you heard me out, about Tony, about what I was going through and believe me I'm doing a lot better for it' began Eric. 'And I'm glad you're alright mate, but what's this got to do with anything?' asked Tom. Eric sat his guitar down and turned to face Tom. 'Something Tony used to say to me was 'Real Recognises Real'. And I see that in you. You're a genuine, good guy Tom, just not a lot of people see that in you. You work hard but those fake twats at work overlook you' said Eric. 'So what, we're meant to bond that way over that?' asked Tom. Eric shook his head. 'Tony was really special to me. He taught me a lot and helped me in some dark times, and you're doing the same for me, I'm a lot better than I was 4 months ago, and I want to help you' said Eric, stubbing out his cigarette and taking off his shirt. Tom looked away blushing, just what the hell was going on right now. 'Come on Tommy boy, clothes off' called Eric. Tom dared to look and there stood Eric in his nude splendor. 'Oh⊠shitâŠ' said Tom nervously, looking away. Eric walked over to Tom and put his hands on his shoulders. 'Trust me mate, you'll enjoy this, hell I think you secretly are already' said Eric, looking at Tom's crotch. Tom looked down and sure enough he could see he was tenting. 'Fuck me, what the hell is happening?' asked Tom, wondering if he was actually having a fever dream right now.
'Choice is yours mate, I don't do this for just anyone. Don't keep me waiting too long, floor's cold' said Eric, walking over to the wall on the other side of the garage and placing his hands on it. Tom looked over at his friend, after a moment's hesitation he decided. 'Oh fuck it' said Tom, proceeding to strip. Both naked, Eric looked back at Tom, taking him in standing at full mast. 'Damn my guy, you've been hiding, huh?' asked Eric, chuckling. Tom walked over, shaking his head. He placed his right hand on Eric's right shoulder, and Tom heard a squeaking rubbery sound and saw his hand was beginning to sink into Eric's shoulder blade. Tom whipped his hand back. 'What the fuck?!' asked Tom, checking his hand. 'It's alright Squire, you'll know what to do' said Eric reassuringly. Curious, Tom placed his right hand back on Eric's right shoulder and the rubbery sound returned and Tom's hand began to sink into his shoulder. Eric began to moan a little as Tom pushed his hand further into Eric's shoulder and down his right arm. Tom began to feel a sense of euphoria as he saw his own arm sliding further in, their muscle masses combining. Tom couldn't quite believe this was possible, but he took a little joy in moving their right arm, flexing it a little. 'Keep going buddy, don't stop!' called Eric. Tom nodded and proceeded to place his left hand on Eric's left shoulder, slipping it on like a long glove. Now their arms were on the wall with Tom standing just behind Eric. 'Damn this is nuts' laughed Tom, resting his chin on their right shoulder, seeing Eric had also gone full hard-on. 'Yeah, but it feels good doesn't it?' asked Eric breathing heavily. Next Tom lifted his right leg and placed it on the back of Eric's upper right leg, it began to sink in almost like stepping into treacle. Once that leg had swelled up, he placed in the left one and all that was left was Tom's head, neck and body. 'Ok, are you ready buddy?' asked Tom. Eric nodded. 'Fuck yeah, buddy!' replied Eric. Tom looked down and positioned his dick between Eric's butt cheeks and began to fuck his way in. Eric started laughing. 'Oh fuck yeah, you know what I like!' called Eric as Tom felt his lower body and torso slipping in. 'Just a sec Tommy' said Eric, and he guided their right hand to make sure that Tom's dick slid nicely into his, stretching it out and making it longer and girthier. Tom could feel it too and felt an orgasmic feeling rush over him, this was ecstasy. 'Yeah we're gonna have some fun with this, ready for the head?' asked Eric. Tom took a breath and proceeded to move his forehead into the back of Eric's head. It slid easily in and with a loud noise like the snapping of spandex, the squeaking stopped and there they stood, a slightly more muscular Eric panting as he shot their load through their shared dick. Eric shuddered and looked up, smirking. 'You alright in there Squire?' asked Eric, feeling his friend inside his mind. He walked over to a mirror and they could see that while they still had Eric's face, their body had toned up rather nicely, Tom was a bit of a skinny guy so the extra muscle wasn't too out of place for Eric. Also Eric had some blonde highlights on his fringe, likely from Tom's hair. 'Damn, we're looking great!' cried Tom inside his mind. Eric nodded. 'Yeah, I know, and the night's just starting. You've got a lot to learn, but you get why I told you to write in sick tomorrow. I'll be showing you how to do the operator's job first hand' said Eric, finishing checking himself out and heading over to try on Tom's clothes. They slipped on quite nicely, if a bit tight.
'Yeah buddy, you know I've always liked your dress sense. It's a good look for us' said Eric, heading back to the mirror to check out how Tom's clothes look on him. 'Yeah, this is gonna be so good. How did you learn to do this man?' asked Tom. Eric looked into his own eyes in the mirror, intently looking to Tom's eyes behind them and smiled. 'That'll be my little secret, Squire' he said, winking and giving their even perkier ass a squeeze. Tom and Eric enjoyed their night together enthralled by their new honesty and willingness to explore themselves within the comfort of themselves, and the next day Tom got to knowing exactly how to operate the machine at work with Eric's knowledge through his eyes and hands. After work they returned to Eric's garage and through those same immense sensations they felt when Tom climbed in, Tom was able to climb out of Eric. They both put their clothes back on and turned to face each other. 'Fucking hell man, that was amazing!' said Tom, looking at his friend with the biggest smile and admiration. Eric returned the smile and nodded his head. 'When you're working with Jovanie next week, don't show him up too much, ok?' Eric winked, playfully knocking Tom on his jaw. 'Thanks for all this, it's been amazing. I'd be so down for doing this again some time' said Tom giving him a thumbs up. Eric walked over and hugged him. 'You're so worth it buddy, and I love you so fucking much' Eric said, he pulled back and kissed Tom on the lips. Eric opened the garage door for Tom and waved him off. Tom began his journey home excited to start the next week of work, whilst Eric sat back down, picked up his guitar and finally opened that can of Tyskie.
betty (byler's version)
"Okay, okay, everyone settle down!" Mike laughed into his mic as everyone was still cheering at the last song they played. "We have a new one for you and guess what?" Mike asked as he quietly strummed his guitar. "It's a new one!" Mike dragged out the last "e" in his sing-songy voice.
As everyone cheered, he looked over to very far left of the stage to see his boyfriend, Will, in the very front row, as close as he could get to the stage. Just like he promised he would be.
Mike waved and looked back to the center of the crowd where a bright stage light was waiting to blind him.
"This one is called betty." Mike smiled and looked back to Will who smiled up at his boyfriend and started cheering again.
Mike looked behind him to make sure everyone was ready to play before he started singing.
"Honey, I won't make assumptions about why you switched your homeroom. But I think it's 'cause of me." Mike began then stepped away from for the mic to shoot another glace at Will, who was already staring at Mike in awe. He smiled and stepped back up to the mic, singing.
"Honey, one time I was riding on my skateboard when I passed your old house. It's like I couldn't breathe." Mike looked back, this time holding his eyes on Will like he was the only one there.
"You heard the rumors for El and you can't believe a word she says most time, but this time it was true." El? Will thought.
"The worst thing that I ever said, was what I said to you." As soon as Will heard this line sung in Mike's sweet voice, he somehow was back in Mike's driveway and somehow, it's summer of '85 and it's pouring down raining and Mike just said, "it's not my fault you don't like girls" right to Will's face. But wait, this song is about him.
"But if I just showed up at your party, would you have me? Would you want me? Would you tell me to go fuck myself? Or lead me to the garden?" Mike sang looking back to the center of the crowd, deciding that he was staring at Will for too long.
"in the garden, would you trust me if I told you, it was just a summer thing? I'm only seventeen. I don't know anything, but I know I miss you."
Oh, Mike and Will's first fight as an actual couple. It wasn't a "real" fight. They weren't mad at each other it was just a lot of miscommunication and angst. There might've been some yelling but there were definitely a lot of tears. Mike didn't know what to do he threw himself on his bed and Will's following him.
"I feel like I don't know anything anymore." Mike cries as he can feel Will's weight sink in the bed next to him. "We're only fifteen, we both don't know anything." Will says sweetly as he reaches out to touch Mike. "I know that I love you." Mike whispers, quiet and crushing. "I love you too. And that's all we need to know right now." Will scoops up Mike as he starts to cry into Will's chest.
Will was so deep into that though he feels like he gets thrown back to the place he been in all along as Mike sings. "Honey, I know where it all went wrong, your favorite song was playing from the far side of the gym." Mike looks back at Will and jokingly rolls his eyes.
Will knows why. He laughs because he knows how insufferable he was when they were both little, listening to "Should I Stay, or Should I go? By The Clash on repeat until he couldn't anymore.
"I was nowhere to be found, you hate the crowds, you know that, plus I saw you dance with him." Will laughed again, remembering all those times Lucas would pull him off the couch at the parties he would throw after winning his basketball game. "Wow, Lucas, lookin' good." Mike said in his sarcastic tone and acts like his jealous.
Mike sang the chorus again, sounding sweeter and sweeter to Will the more he sung. but everything in the room went quiet as Mike began the bridge and the music started to get faster.
"I was walking home on broken cobblestones, just thinking of you when she pulled up like a figment of my worst intentions. She said "James, get it in. Let's drive." Those days turned into night. Sat and talked to her but, I dreamt of you all summer long."
Will knew he was talking about everyone's favorite, Max. never calling Mike by his middle name because "James just fits him better" as she put it.
Mike ripped the mic off his stand and walked downstage to the very front of the stage all the way to the right.
He sings as he looks down at the people that were in the very front row, almost pushed up against the stage. "Baby, I'm here on your doorstep and I planned it out for weeks now but, it's finally sinking in."
He slowly makes his way back to the right center of the stage. Will's laughs because he walks around the stage singing like he's performing standup comedy.
"Baby, right now is the last time I can dream about what happens when you see my face again." Mike sings and looks up again, locking eyes with Will and inching closer to stage left.
Mike keeps his eyes on Will, not caring that anyone else in the room with them. "The only thing I wanna do is make it up to you."
"So, I showed up at your party." Mike stopped as he reached stage left, stopping in front of Will. She sat down on the end of the stage, right in front of Will.
"Yeah, I showed up at your party." Mike reached a hand out and took Will's. He looked away from Will and back to the crowd.
Mike gave Will a look that basically said, "can I pull you on stage?" Will nodded aggressively, excited.
As the tempo of the song changed again, Mike dragged Will up on stage and started singing again and both of them reached center stage, right where Mike left his mic stand.
"Yeah, I showed up at your party, will you have me? will you love me? Will you kiss me on the porch, in front of all our stupid friends?" Mike laughed as Will smiled at him, beaming.
"If you kiss me, will it be just like I dreamed it? Will it patch your broken wings? I'm only seventeen, I don't know anything, but I know I miss you." Mike continued dragging Will around. This time, down center stage.
âStandinâ in your cardigan. Kissinâ in my car again.â Mike continued as he sat in the middle of center stage, pulling Will down with him.
Will sat down next to Mike, he decided to lay in Willâs lap. âStopped at a street light, you know I missed you.â Mike finally finished.
Only looking at Will, who smiled down at Mike as he heard everyone cheer for his boyfriend.
âWell, everyone, this is my boyfriend, Will.â Mike said, holding the mic up to Willâs mouth. âHi!â He spoke into it.Â
