Natah Yang dilakukan oleh bapak di samping ibu yang sedang membatik itu disebut natah. Natah merupakan sebuah kata kerja dalam bahasa Jawa yang berasal dari kata dasar tatah. Natah merupakan sebuah kegiatan melubangi/mencungkil/bisa dikatakan memahat sesuatu seperti kayu, kulit, batu menjadi bentuk - bentuk yang ingin diekpresikan oleh pembuatnya. Nah, bapak itu sedang menatah kulit kerbau yang akan dijadikan sebuah wayang. Mengapa di-tatah? Hal ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan pola-pola dalam tubuh wayang agar terlihat indah saat dimainkan dan menegaskan karakter si wayang. Biasanya pola pola tersebut seperti menunjukkan baju kebesaran, pusakanya, dan gelungannya. Untuk gunungan sendiri menegaskan karakter dan bentuk yang ada di dalam gulungannya. Kegiatan ini sudah jarang kita jumpai, apalagi dikalangan para pemuda. Padahal wayang kulit kita, Indonesia sudah menjadi tradisi yang diakui sebagai warisan dunia. Sepeduli apakah kamu? Kegiatan ini dapat dijumpai di area perkampungan di Taman Sari jika beruntung, selain itu dapat juga dilihat di tempat pembuatan wayang kulit atau sanggar Omah Wayang di Klaten, Jawa Tengah. #WidowsOfVrindavan Can you believe, there are people in this world who take you out for a celebration, treat you with an utmost respect, and within seconds run away leaving you alone? Yes, they exist! There are hundreds of such stories you would hear from the widows of Vrindavan. Every day, widows come here from all over India and Nepal, particularly the state of West Bengal, where faith in Krishna is intense. Last year, thousands of widows gathered at temples in Vrindavan to celebrate the spring festival of Holi and broke a 400-year-old Hindu tradition.  Last Saturday,��I collaborated with Maitri, a Delhi-based developmental humanitarian NGO to document their annual event which would include a Holi celebration for widows in Vrindavan. The women danced, threw flower petals, and smudged colour on each other in the Maitri ghar which was decorated with balloons and flowers. Meeting these strong women has actually left me in awe. The widows of Vrindavan are breaking rules, they are vibrant and strong.
