“nn..” you mumbled. practically babbling, you couldn’t wait for shoto to come back from his work study. you texted him nonstop about how much you missed him, the way your head felt fuzzy didn’t make you feel anxious about double— triple texting him.

you kicked your legs, bouncing back off the bed in your pajamas. you just couldn’t wait. slipping gently into a childlike state.

after what felt like forever, shoto was back. he entered the dorms as usual, tired physically and emotionally from the work he did. he yawned, grabbing a water bottle, sipping at it, and checking his phone. many missed calls from endeavor, sure, but many incoherent texts from you too.

he looked at the messages, utterly lost at the meanings. figuring he should see what you meant, trying to put together your rambles and textual babbles.

shoto stared at the words, walking to your dorm as he knocks at the door. his eyes soften as you open to him, taking in the sight.

you still wear your pjs, alongside fluffy bunny slippers, but you also have a small mess of fruit juices on your shirt. he tilts his head, confused by your demeanor before he’s hit with the realization that you’ve regressed.

“ar-“ he softens his voice, “are you feeling little, right now, buddy?..”

the question feels weird, nevertheless you nod. because you feel all soft and small. and his words feel big no matter how much he lowers his volume.

he frowns, but not because it saddens him— but he’s worried for the reason why you regressed.

shoto, after you told him about your age regression, did extreme research to help accommodate to you. suggesting to be your caregiver, and make you feel comfortable, safe.

he provided regression gear, and did countless all nighters to research (and frankly overthink) about how to properly care for you. but actually being in a situation where he was going to be your caregiver—for the first time…—

it was clear he was nervous, you could see it in his eyes, the way his face went slightly pale and sweaty.

“oh.”

is all he lets out. and you feel yourself grow slightly, his anxiety makes yourself anxious.

he’s quick to realizes this, and gently moves to hold you, “let me take care of you, baby..” is all he asks of you, and you feel yourself slip right back, his arms wrap around you making yourself feel smaller. you look up to his comforting awkward smile, and he looks down at the mess on your shirt again.

“mm.. make mess..” you mumbled, worried he was mad at you for making the mess— perhaps staining your shirt.

he shakes his head, “your little head doesn’t need to worry about that.” petting, and ruffling his own cool and warm fingers through your hair. it soothes you, and next thing you know he reaches for a tissue in his pocket, gently wiping at your shirt, a soaked spot.

“were you drinking something? it kinda smells of pineapple..” he asks, a hand still holding you like you were fragile.

you point at your nightstand, where two small juice boxes lay, and he gets the idea.

“ohh..” a sigh escapes him, delicately moving, bring you with him to the bed. “does baby wanna change their shirt? i cleaned most of it off anyway,”

you shake your head, squeezing your eyes slightly with the motion. “nuh uh.”

he smiles, “alright, we can stay like this…” his arms wrap right back around you, rocking you tenderly.

Caregiver!Shoto Todoroki Headcanons!

A/N: Hii! Yes, requests are very open! Thank you for sending this in, I absolutely love Todoroki.

He absolutely had no idea what age regression was before you told him about it. He was very sheltered, so he never really had the chance to learn about it.

When you tell him, he listens to you explain it. He then researches it on his own time. He sees that it’s usually a coping mechanism to deal with trauma, so he definitely asks if you’re okay. He tells you that you can talk to him if you need.

He doesn’t ask to be your caregiver. First, because he doesn’t really know how. And second, because he’s unsure if you’re looking for a caregiver.

You eventually ask, though. And he says that he’ll try, but he may not do things correctly. He’s mainly afraid because of how he learned to parent.

Everything works out, though. There’s a few awkward moments and you have to explain things to him and help him out a bit, but overall, he learns pretty fast!

Honestly, I imagine him as being pretty strict. He meal preps for you, you get no sweets until after dinner, you have a strict bedtime, and you have to hold his hand in public at all times.

This guy is loaded. And he doesn’t really spend his money on himself. He doesn’t really want any material possessions, so he’s rarely ever had a reason to spend it. But now he does. He does have a reason. And he buys you literally whatever you want.

This guy has bought you so many stuffies and pacis, it’s actually kind of insane.

You’ll reassure him that you don’t need or want more, but he’s like “But I have nowhere else to spend my money…” and then he might wait a couple weeks before buying you anything again. But eventually he’ll show up to your dorm with another toy or something.

He doesn’t care for physical affection much, honestly. Hand holding is fine, he likes that. But more intense physical affection isn’t his thing. He will still cuddle with you if you need it, though. He just won’t initiate it.

He is not very good at comforting people. He honestly sucks at it.

Sometimes, he has to have others help him. Which is perfectly fine, especially since he struggles with physical touch and with comforting you. He gets Midoriya to help and Midoriya is more than willing to give you all of those things.

Midoriya is also less strict and will sometimes sneak you sweets before you’re allowed to have any. He’s gotten caught a couple times and pretended like he just forgot. Todoroki knew he was lying.

Todoroki will also help you with your homework when you’re little. By help I mean borderline do it for you. All you have to do is write the answers, really. He tells you them.

I got a little self indulgent and made a shouto regressor board.. I know I have requests to do but.. I couldn't help it. I've been reading this MHA agere fic and it has me by the heart.

- he likes fidgets ! especially if they make noise or have a weird texture. he would love to have a baby crinkle blanket

🔥 - Poor baby has such a hard time regulating his temperature when little, sometimes really hot and others he's really cold!

❄️ - Trauma regressor, no doubt about it.

🔥 - He's definitely not a bratty little but a fussy one, struggling to express emotions.

❄️ - Maybe nonverbal? He doesn't seem like the type to use pacifiers but might be unable to talk?

🔥 - He would have a blanket and plushie collection, don't ask with who's money.

❄️ - Anxious little baby, scared to tell anyone about it but will never refuse if someone wants to watch him or help him.

🔥 - Maybe a kitty regressor?? Just maybe?

" Suck it , I'm his favorite. Isn't that right Little Snowflake? " Todoroki says crouching down in front of Katsuki with a soft smile on his face. Because Katsuki give him one of those smiles of a thousand Suns.

takes place in an au where touya is a rehabilitated hero

shoto was close to hitting the charts of the top three heroes, it was practically guaranteed that he would move up the charts considering he was already in the top ten. his PR team is pretty sure that he’ll at least reach no.3 in the next chart that is released.

this is most likely due to his performance of many recent public missions earlier in the past months. which in turn, resulted in receiving a message from Touya, suggesting they had lunch together to celebrate.

dabi’s ranking was fairly high, yet he was one of the first rehabilitated villains, which gave him strict fans and haters. there was usually no in between. many hated, dreaded his performance and character, and others sympathized and idolized with him.

shoto, whenever he had the chance, welcomed these gestures and invitations easily. He didn’t take a minute for granted, getting to know his big brother.

it was hard at first. learning to be okay by himself, especially since shoto almost lost him.

he skipped out on a fairly important patrol to meet Touya at a nice, unbeknownst to him, cat cafe.

“shoto,” Touya muttered, glancing up from his cup of coffee. “i already ordered you some soba, and a smoothie.” his voice raspy, and oddly soft compared to the screaming shoto knew of him capable. nevertheless the combo of a smoothie with soba sounded disgusting, but knowing that his brother knows he likes smoothies and soba makes his heart swell, despite the stirring in his stomach.

shoto gave a gentle smile, a soft nod of appreciation, “thank you.” he drank each detail of Touya’s appearance. his no longer tired eyes, yet prominent bags (from which he assumes from restless nights before… all this, before the war) that seemed hard to make out due to the burns. his eyes looked so healthy, compared to when he was a villain. yet he still probably lost sleep, due to the trauma he endured- hell even shoto did. his outfit, the fabric loose and baggy. dark clothes, he always seemed to wore.

he looks… happy, despite everything.

“so,” Touya abruptly interrupted the consumed silence of their lunch, which gained eye contact from shoto. “i decided to cut contact with dad.”

shoto nodded back, he knew he would. not much of a surprise.

“my therapist recommended it, just for now at least. and..” the words felt stuck in his throat, as if it was humiliating to admit. it was required, to go through therapy, for the rehabilitation program. it always felt like it wasn’t Touya’s choice to go to therapy every week, but maybe deep down he knew he needed that and even wanted a person to acknowledge the brokenness inside him.

shoto didn’t rush him, taking his big brother’s hand, caressing his rough knuckles. waiting for the next words, even though it didn’t feel familiar at all, maybe even wrong. his father wired his brain to believe this was wrong, to comfort his brother? shoto debated on cutting contact with his father too just from the thought.

touya let out a dry laugh, his throat felt like sandpaper; which caused shoto to frown weakly at him. “sorr- hah- sorry kid, i guess, this is just all weird.” he muttered, running a hand through his pale hair, growing disheveled by the mannerism.

“what is all weird?” shoto asks, squeezing his hand.

“my therapist recommended this- coping mechanism,” the words so small, shoto barely makes them out. in which, he assumed it was hard to confess. he appreciated that touya even wanted shoto to know.

“yeah?”

“yeah.”

and the silence engulfed them again: shoto pulls away for a server to place them both dishes of soba, a smoothie for shoto and water for touya. “thank you,” the brothers bowed gently, before they picked at their food.

a white cat nuzzles its head against shoto’s leg. a calico purrs, sat behind touya’s chair leg.

they eat, sipping on their to-go cups. minutes had passed, eating in a comfortable (to shoto) silence before interrupted.

“it’s called age regression,” he finally lets out.

“oh,” shoto nods, he was familiar with that. he tried it during high school as a coping mechanism, one that izuku had recommended, and it stuck.

“it’s where.. you shift into a mindset of a child to kind of heal,” he rambled anxiously, “it may sound weird at first but it’s just for healing and-“

“yeah, i know what it is,” shoto nods, sensing he was having difficulty explaining it.

“oh. you’ve heard about it before…?”

“i’ve- i do it.”

“age regress?”

“yeah, i age regress.”

“oh.”

shoto asked for the check, paying while touya stared blankly in shock.

after awhile touya finally revived, asking how he found out about age regression, how he does it, and even offered to babysit him. shoto smiled, explaining his experience, where he started his freshmen year, does so with a classmate as his caregiver, and that he didn’t mind the offer.

somehow talking about it made it seem more ordinary, yet the normalcy of the conversation felt out of place. something tethered at his heart.

“and you?..” shoto asked in return, “how did you start age regressing?” clearing his throat, “if you don’t mind explaining.”

“oh yeah— my therapist just recommended it, since i’ve- done it before just involuntarily…”

“involuntarily?”

touya nods, “yeah, i mean i didn’t know what it really was until she had explained it to me. honestly at first, i thought it was odd, but” he softens, looking down at his little brother, “i don’t know- i guess i just needed a little push in the right direction.”

shoto smiled back, a gently and subtle tug on his lips. he can’t help but think of when he first started, the same anxiety when he first talked about it with izuku. “i’m glad you could talk to me about it.”

getting to know his big brother, it’s something he wouldn’t trade for the world. especially sharing something with him like this, he adored the way touya would now get pacifiers, teethers, and stuffed animals discreetly for him as gifts. it healed something deep inside shoto, and touya.
