Rite of passage

Like the sun and the moon, our deer camp trailer has now assumed its proper place in the universe, on the edge of a pine swamp in northern Michigan.

The transport was blessedly uneventful, the weather was fine and my two older grandsons (12 and 9) seemed to enjoy their first taste of semi-deer camp.

Although there's no hunting yet, the boys tromped through the woods and shot shotguns for the first time (a rite of passage in our family).

I was impressed - not so much that they withstood the recoil once, but that they both went back for seconds.

Did you guys know there are actual revolving shotguns?

I was making research into The Ghoul revolver because the way it looks and acts felt like a shotgun with infinite ammo

So imagine my surprise when I find out that there are Actual Revolving Shotguns:

Colt Model 1839 Shotgun

Colt Model 1855 Shotgun

MTs255 (Russia)

The Ghoul revolver in particular apparently looks like a OTs-62 (

Forgive my surprise. It's just that, for a long time, I always thought shotguns were top-break or pump action and semi-automatic/automatic shotguns were a rare breed
