Is Tommy Anthony is pissed off and her son says good he's got spirit he got angry and he said okay he's a little baby that's not bad this is why I said you can't figure it out it says laughing and he says what's with all the cover I said I don't know they're applying makeup by the bushel it says laughing and says what is this going to do and says you have to be know how to do it it has to work and it has to work in a certain way and he says what are you talking about instead of not bringing the big ones out unless we can do things and he says oh my God you're going to do that this is apparently why it is smiling and he's laughing and he says what is this like he says well if I have somebody I can go around and go to an amusement place and drive one of these small cars instead of go-karts which I don't like driving and it's a sport you guys can do and it leads to other stuff yada yada and he says oh so he gets it and he says like really fast flying stuff in the desert there's all sorts of things you can do it's like a boat going on plane when you're going along the ground you have to force a Cessna down because of it and so he gets it and says wow that's amazing so it doesn't have to be like designed perfectly and it doesn't have to be sealed and all this other stuff because of the pressure head and you can make all sorts of things you guys can and he is starting to do it and vehicles too and for the cities you need these things like right now and he said wow and so he's doing it and it works and people are starting to become amazed and it's not really to Target the pseudo Empire but they're doing the business and really we can't afford that kind of there's too many of these people and the pseudo Empire is going to disappear

Niemand had er nog op gerekend, maar de vrouwen van de Nederlandse relayploeg hebben hun olympische missie toch weten te bekronen met een bronzen medaille. Omdat in de met vier teams gestarte A-finale maar liefst twee diskwalificaties werden uitgedeeld, schoof Nederland als winnaar van de B-finale door van de vijfde naar de derde plaats in de eindrangschikking.

“Een dream come true”, sprak Jorien ter Mors glunderend. “Echt onbeschrijfelijk.” Voor Ter Mors was het ook nog eens extra bijzonder omdat dit haar laatste shorttrackrace was. “Ik ga stoppen op mijn hoogtepunt en ook nog in een wereldrecord. Het is gewoon sick.”

Ook bij Suzanne Schulting was de vreugde enorm. In haar onbegrensde enthousiasme liet zij het algemeen beschaafd Nederlands maar even voor wat het was en doorspekte haar antwoorden om de haverkap met het woorden fucking. “We worden derde in een wereldrecord. Niet normaal. Ik geloofde het niet toen we het hoorden dat er twee penalty’s uitgedeeld werden.”

Voor Yara van Kerkhof betekende het al haar tweede olympische medaille. Eerder won ze al zilver op de 500 meter. “Het is zo gaaf. We wilden de B-finale goed rijden en laten zien dat we erbij horen. We hebben er alles aan gedaan.”

Voor Lara van Ruijven was het na afloop evenmin te bevatten. “Hier train je vier jaar voor en het is zo mooi om met z’n allen te winnen. Met vijf meiden ernaartoe te werken en dan in een wereldrecord brons pakken.”

Bondscoach Jeroen Otter glom van trots. “Helemaal top. Gelukkig hebben we niet vier jaar lang voor Jan met de korte achternaam rondgereden. We investeren er veel in en kunnen op goed niveau schaatsen.”

Voor Otter kwamen de diskwalificaties in de A-finale niet als een verrassing. “Landen als China en Korea gaan niet voor zilver. Die worden nog liever gediskwalificeerd, dus je weet dat het kan gebeuren. Dat is shorttrack.”
