I happened to do some research and apparently it’s considered rude in Japan to hug people :’) and it’s something usually only couples do, so why not write some first hug prompts with my fav team, yay! i always see first kiss but my touch starved ass believes in hug supremacy

#1 TETSURŌ KUROO

when you approached the captain after practice, he wasn’t surprised. you guys would often walk to the train station together with kenma, so he assumed this was the case. “hey! finished everything up already?” you chirped, arriving in front of him and smiling. he nodded, gesturing at his bag and humming. “kenma’s still getting changed.” taking the chance of him extending his arm, you slipped below and pressed your body against his chest. he froze up for a second, about to hug you back until you had already slipped away from his touch. he beat himself up about it later </3

#2 NOBUYUKI KAI

“need some help?” his voice echoed in your ears and you spun around in surprise. “ah, kai! good morning! yes, i’d appreciate that.” you had been trying to build up the net for practice and kai had luckily arrived shortly after you. he fixed your mistake with ease, finishing it up faster than you expected. “all done.” he spoke, giving you a thumbs up. you hesitated, but gave him a quick hug that was extended by kai tightning his grip around you and patting your back a few times, before finally releasing you. in the end, you were more flustered about it than him.

“y’know, yaku, i think you’re a bit harsh on lev sometimes.” you spoke, facing the 3rd year. he stayed silent for a second, before speaking. “he deserves it.” before he was able to move on, you continued. “i don’t think you’re that short though, yakkun. it’s great for hugging!” a light red hue spread along his cheeks, him turning away from you. that was, until he felt your arms wrap around his body and he completely froze up, somehow being able to reciprocate your touch. “see?” 

#4 TAKETORA YAMAMOTO

it’s no secret that yamamoto was scared to talk to girls, but you wanted to change that. when you found out why he was avoiding you, you did your best on befriending him and somehow managed to do it after two weeks of being the manager. yamamoto had insisted on walking you home, so you complied after his constant begging all day. arriving in front of your home, he bowed before you and wished you a good night. he started walking off until you grabbed his wrist and pulled him into your embrace. let’s just say, you broke him.

#5 KENMA KOZUME

with kenma, the hug was out of nowhere. the boys had just returned from their run (even though it was very cold outside) and most of them were warmed up, except for one certain member. he was pathetically standing next to kuroo, shaking like a madman, and you shook your head at his carelessness. you approached him, looking at him one last time before pressing your body against his in an attempt to warm him up. his cheeks heated up, but he didn’t really know what to do so he simply wrapped his free arm around you lazily, enjoying the heat. the rest of the boys couldn’t help but feel slightly jealous.

#6 SHŌHEI FUKUNAGA

when you saw shōhei getting the balls with inuoka, you just got hit with the urge randomly. he was there and you were cold, so why not? you got up from the bench, putting your notebook and pencil down and jogged over to him. he looked at you in silence, waiting for you to say something until you opened your arms and looked at him expectantly. he tried to understand what you were doing, inuoka having to come for help and pushed him forward slightly. finally getting at your idea, he shyly complied and wrapped his arms around you. when you parted, he was as red as a tomato.

#7 SŌ INUOKA

in this case, inuoka was actually the one who initiated the hug. while on a walk, he saw a couple hugging and his mind immediatly wandered to you, happy with the idea he just got. once he entered the gym building after changing into his correct attire, his eyes landed on you and he jogged over to your side, grinning at you. “ah, good morning sō! do you need something?” you smiled up at him. he nodded. “can i hug you?” he asked, you blushing a little bit at his direct behavior. “oh! sure!” you agreed, standing up and extending your arms for him. he squeezed you against him tightly, you laughing a bit at his intensity. he hugged you more often after that :)

#11 LEV HAIBA

like inuoka, he was the one that initiated the hug. since one of his parents was european, hugging was normal in his family and he just wanted to do it one day when he saw you all cuddled up in a jacket you borrowed from a friend. he thought you looked cute, so he went up to you and engulfed your body in his arms. “oi- lev?!” you exclaimed, surprised at his gesture. nonetheless he didn’t let go, and waited until you hugged him back to release his grip. 

#12 YŪKI SHIBAYAMA

“yūki, could you help me with this?” you called out, showing him a riddle on your phone. he nodded, sitting down next to you and explaining it to you, waiting until you finally understood. in that moment you were just grateful for his help, and didn’t hesitate from getting up and hugging him quickly. personally he thought it was too short, ignoring the small blush on his face at the sudden body contact. he definitely gave you multiple hints of wanting another hug after that.

Tencent released trailers: a biased biased opinion.

So Tencent did a mini conference and released some teasers and trailers. I bring you my highly impartial and objective and correct opinions on the ones I watched, most from least:

The Litchi Road - litchis are delicious and Cao Dun is a favorite director but I am not sure why we need a 40 ep drama about them and the trailer is just an old guy running - to get in line for the best litchis? To chase after a litchi cartel? To burn off calories from eating a basket of them? Who knows, who cares. Verdict: PASS

Serendipity - cutesy which is not a sin but it confirms to me that I just dislike Wang Ziqi and having to look at him as a leading man for however many eps and Wang Hongyi who I do like as playing second fiddle to him would require someone to bribe me with a basket of litchis for it to be anything but Verdict: PASS

Love Game in Eastern Fantasy - if I were my own daughter, I’d be a creepy scientific wonder but also perhaps young enough to be the target audience for this. This is a fancy way of saying this looks very well made but for a much younger audience than me. The costumes also give the vibe of a lost Sword and Fairy installment. Verdict: LIKELY PASS

Love on the Turquoise Land - it’s a modern which I don’t do much, and I am largely indifferent to Dilraba but it looks interesting so Verdict: LIKELY WATCH

Blossom - I loved the previous trailer but this short teaser was alas nothing much. It wasn’t bad, it was just tiny. Like the world’s smallest appetizer. Still, Verdict: WATCH

Ten Years Lantern on a Stormy Martial Arts Night - not familiar with the leads but the trailer was captivating and it’s based on a novel by Minglan and LLTG author so there are solid bones there. Verdict: WATCH

Fight for Love - my favorite MSB novel, I was apprehensive because both leads, while actors I am fond of, didn’t fit my image of the mains and have a long history of picking dramas I don’t like, but that trailer, though short, packed a punch and got the novel vibe! Biggest pleasant surprise of them all. Verdict: WATCH

Legend of the Female General - based on one of my favorite novels and I recognized a bunch of scenes, looks gorgeous and intense and with plenty of battles and I adore Zhou Ye and Cheng Lei (finally in a proper leading role he deserves.) Verdict: WATCH WITH BELLS ON

Peach Blossom Overturning the Country - what a trailer, it has it all! Meng Ziyi and Liu Xueyi fighting and loving and being gorgeous messes together. She’s insanely underrated and until recently, so was he, and both are insanely beautiful so let’s goooo! (I mentioned to @aysekira LXY is getting typecast as the more unhinged version of Cheng Yi, one who can enjoy giving as well as taking a beating, and good for him!) Verdict: WATCH WITH BELLS ON

Moonlit Reunion - my favorite trailer of the bunch! Gorgeous, intense, mysterious, romantic, confusing in the best way. Everything I watch cdramas for and Xu Kai and TXW both rarely looked more fitting in the story. Verdict: WATCH WITH BELLS ON AND THEN SOME!

In S6 E6, "Sacrifice of Angels", Ziyal found Dukat fleeing from the impending federation takeover, and at this moment she at two choices.

(A) Leave with Dukat

(B) Stay with Kira (which was her canon answer but shhh)

But she was fucking killed, and now she won't leave my brain...

So i'm gonna projectile vomit some headcanons at you.

If she stayed with Kira

- Ziyal would cut her hair like Kira's (or just short) to look less cardassian-like

- Wore a lot more bajoran clothes (gotten from local shops or Garak)

- She'd start going to the Prophet temple with Kira, even getting an earing as she starts to believe in the Prophets

- I think she would try working different jobs around the station (Waitress (for Quark), seamstress (with Garak), nurse (with Julian), etc)

- But she'd probably just end up a civilian artist, maybe doing some commissions around the station

- Don't care, Ziyal/Nog supremacy 4 eva

- Kira wouldn't be her mother figure, but more of a big sister, helping her out in finding her place in DS9

If she went with Dukat

- Dukat would have her change her name, discarding her mother's last name

- Ziyal earlier showed an eagerness to learn how to fight, so to keep herself useful to Dukat she'd train to become a soldier (or at least learn to fight)

- Ziyal wouldn't draw as much

- Pseudo-military uniform as her normal everyday clothes

- I feel like she'd just follow Dukat around. When he was in Empok Nor, to Bajor to meet up with Kai Winn, to Cardassia whenever Dukat wanted, wherever

- At the end, Dukat would just manipulate her into sticking with him (and she falls for it)

- And after Dukat's death in the fire caves, I think she'd have a existential crisis and wonder back to Cardassia after the Dominion leaves

I believe in short king Kai supremacy. I believe in the hight of mischief Kai riding on one of the other’s shoulders as they run to cause problems on purpose. Jay falls over in less than a few minutes but Cole and Zane carry him all the way to the Ninjago 7/11 for nachos in a .85$ slushy cup (whoever isn’t carrying Kai is carrying Jay probably)

17. Physical Description. Keres has short, silvery hair that sits feathered, or otherwise ‘elegantly disheveled’. It has a dull lilac hue to it in certain lights and is well maintained, styled using lightweight products. His eyes, narrow and hooded, are pinkish red, or magenta, framed by short, dark silver eyelashes and he sees right through you. He stands at a tall 6'4" and has a seemingly stiff posture, with broad shoulders and firm musculature, angular dorito man (and a little bony). His skin is somewhat warm for ghostly pale, belying the truth of his vampiric pedigree, and while it appears otherwise unblemished, there are a number of lasting silver burns on his arms and back - all received when the heir of night was captured at war, for he was captured too. Pale red-violet in color, ashen scars all. He tends to wear modern elegant clothing, his wardrobe entirely custom, in shades of black, red, and gray, and in a way that makes him seem…almost human.

He doesn’t keep much on him but his credit card, cellphone, and catalyst - a wand carved from ancient dragon glass, obsidian black with rivers of blood and gold winding around its surface, glowing faintly when used. 14. Occupation. He has two: Acts as director of Morteatum International Private Security, which puts him in charge of security for all Red Hand vampires ; But, he also works in tandem with Cedric Montgomery in his rebellion against the very same Red Hand, using information gleaned from ever-constant surveillance to organize hits on specific targets at just the right time, allow room for non-Sanguinarian parties to gain power, and ultimately eliminate the Red Hard altogether (big ask). 15. Job Performance. Highly valued, impossible to replace, in both positions. 16. Parents. Keres Morteatum II and Carmilla Morningstar - one of which was heretical in her belief in vampire supremacy, where the other remains neutral overall, bound only by his loyalty to the family. He is uniquely motivated, spiteful and cruel in his deliverance, dishing out every bit of what he’s given - unafraid of getting his hands dirty, of doing his own dirty work, entirely resolved to serve Cedric as the sword he uses to strike down evil at its rotten core. Dramatic, quite, but true nonetheless, another victim of self-abandonment due to express purpose and deeply held desires for change, for personal revenge. He is cool and calculating, always has a plan and utmost faith that it’ll work if he stays his course, slinking through shadows, manipulating other vampires, blackmailing them and utterly ruining their lives if not outright killing them. He can be harsh and unfriendly, sarcastic and aloof, even occasionally self-righteous. He knows he’s a villain, even if he’s on the ‘good side’ - but there are no good men in war, only varying degrees of bad men and death. Bitter and angry about what the Red Hand have done to him, to Vayn, Cedric, Claire, and other vampires, itching to at last deal retribution. He has survived much and continues to, conquering deceit, lust, power, and all else vampires covet, to use as a bludgeon against them all. Focused, determined, capable of seeing it all through to the end, accepting the loneliness of his position and purpose in undeath.

High Vampire, Master of Security ; High vampires are a class of noble vampire bearing incredible strength and mastery over not only themselves, but their appetites and magical inclinations as well, posing as, ironically, even more of a threat than the standard vampire or even ghoul - him especially, since he maintains his position as the head of the intelligence & security arm of the Morteatum family.

⸻Background Information. // Past to Present.

    Keres was born around the same time as the Heir to the Throne of Night, Cedric Montgomery, and so the pair - whose families were closely allied - were raised alongside each other as nobles, as friends. Hand-picked aised, under a miles-long list of expectations and the rigid Principles of vampire society, and chosen to follow in his father's footsteps. Plucked from his mother's unholy womb, and groomed for a royally militant life - a knight without the title, but a believer in in Sanguinach all the same.

But it was in his fledgling age that he saw the reason in the Red Hand's - namely, the Morteatums' - philosophy, understanding the inherent need to protect their own from other nightfolk, from humans. Safety in an ivory tower, on Night's Sacred Ground, when all the world around them loathed and misunderstood them. Often were they hunted, not only by humans but by werewolves, and so - naturally, vampires, Sanguinarian or not, had to find a way to survive. They banded together and unified under the Nightfather's banner, and changed, vying for power and control by any means necessary in an effort to prop themselves up with tools, magical affinities, and livestock.

Trouble was, Keres didn't know just how far the Red Hand was willing to go, nor the breadth of the depravity of the families in its ranks, including his own. He believed his parents, at first, after the raiding parties, when so many of them would return in shrouds. Seeing enslavement as righteous consequence to opposing the Red Hand, war and death as holy, indoctrinated from the moment he was born. He didn't see the truth, even as it flew before his very eyes, fighting these wars as a boy, accustomed to the battlefield when he first learned to properly feed. He was trained explicitly to kill, and any who opposed the Red Hand.

When he came of age, he was treated to a royal orgy and sent once mor into battle alonside Cedric, but it was in this petty war between the Myerscoughs and the Montgomerys over who retained the right to the Feywild, that the pair had been captured - caught sleeping in shallow graves when dawn came, and tortured for weeks on end with silver, exposure to sunlight, isolation, and starvation, paraded around in half-shaded gibbets as Myerscough thralls did their masters' dirty work. He had only Cedric's screams to keep him company, and there were none who would come to save them.

It was during this conflict that Keres devised a plan to escape and rescue Cedric. Weakened by his ordeal, yet still he pushed himself, scrambled for even the smallest hint of malleable energy with which to trade faces with one of his torturers and sow just enough doubt. A pinch of hypnotism, a hint of convincing alteration, acting, and he was quickly released, the one replacing him in silver chains. If it worked once...surely it would work twice, and it did, against the thralls. Once he located and freed Cedric, there was something different about him. Not vengeful, but hollow, yet in the end, when they'd recovered just enough of their energy, feeding on the corpses of dead thralls, they slaughtered half the Myerscough clan and broke their house, proving the Montgomerys the victors - thus rightful owners of the Feywild they sought to conquer. Cedric's twin, Claire, took care of the rest, and carried her brother home.

In the aftermath, Cedric was treated like a defective tool, propped up only as Godwin Montgomery's heir as planned and his truest disappointment simultaneously. What happened to Cedric was swept under the rug and hidden away so as to maintain the King's image, and such had inflamed his disillusionment with the Red Hand, his loyalty to his friend outweighing all else. Bitterness and disgust were born within him, for he could not suffer the callousness and disregard of a lord he once respected, the ignored realities of vampiric depravity. And he carefully considered then the far-reaching consequences of the actions of immortal men, a Feywild village invaded and its people slaughtered or taken to be indignified as livestock. And he knew, he knew what was done to them, for it had been done to him, to Cedric. Only, they wouldn't have the opportunity to escape.

Soon after the confrontation with Godwin, Cedric, despite his injuries, paid a visit to Keres. Sickened by the cruelty of vampires, Cedric unloaded his concerns and frustrations, but insodoing revealed a plan - one that would require patience, secrecy, and strength of will. Over the course of the next few centuries, they were to lie. Publically align themselves in perfect harmony with the Red Hand's desire for supreme leadership over nightfolk, fey, and humans - all the while secretly organizing a rebel force to rival the Red Hand's military force, and the Sanguinarian clerics, positioning themselves strategically until the time was right. This meant that, on occasion, killings would be necessary and vital to maintain their mounting rebellion, and that using the petty hatred of the remnants of the Myerscoughs to their advantage would be, too. Keres agreed.

My ult is Taehyun, but my bias changes all the time. When I started this blog it was Hueningkai, but right now it's Soobin, next month it might be Yeonjun or Beomgyu, or maybe Taehyun wrecks his way back to the top. Autochthonous Africans: cultural production and rhetorical performance in the americas

In the short story “The devil in America,” author Kai Ashanti Wilson explores the chasm between autochthonous African religion and cultural production and puritanical, fire and brimstone violence of white supremacy and culture in the United States.  Following the spiritual journey of Easter and her matrilineal line, all of whom seem to be or have been in possession of supernatural access to ancestral magic, Wilson condemns the policy of ethnic cleansing birthed during the transatlantic slave trade which stripped Indigenous Africans of their histories and connection to their land and practices.  Wilson illuminates the brutal nature of White supremacy and the United States, arguing that traditional African religions and cultures kept away from teachings that preached condemnation for all, even the just, opting to use the trope or metaphor of “the devil,” as an organizing tool to keep unruly characters in line, not to inflict seemingly arbitrary suffering on members of their communities.  Wilson draws a comparison between the two cultures, arguing that whiteness in its inception is violent and ruthless, acting out against the black body with impunity.  The story ends with a violent massacre of Easter’s community following a church gathering in which all of Easter’s friends and family are brutally murdered and assaulted by a band of white nationalists.  Easter escapes only by completely sacrificing her humanity.  Similarly, in the short story “Greedy choke puppy,” author Nalo Hopkinson explores the myth of the soucoyant, a vampiric creature that generally takes human form, shedding its skin at night and adopting a nebulous fiery shape, taking to the skies and wandering far and wide to find its prey.  Hopkinson argues that African diasporic communities use the soucoyant as a tool of social organization, employing the latter as an explanation for infant child death as well as death during childbirth, both of which were rampant in some communities.  Although “greedy choke puppy” does not feature explicit violence against the black body at the hands of white supremacy like that found in “the devil in America,” Hopkinson still addresses and features diasporic themes and folklore developed as a result of white supremacy and a blending of indigenous African practices and colonial religions imposed on members of the diaspora.  Conversely, both stories feature themes of tradition, community, family and ancestry.  “The devil in America,” explicates the bond between mother and child Ned the inherent sacrifice within the relationship.  “Greedy choke puppy” centers around similar themes with metaphors for grief and death throughout the text.  “The devil in America” also discusses death and mourning, using magic as the vehicle to convey the immense loss experienced as a result of the aforementioned ethnic cleanings policy in the americas. Both of these short stories can be seen as vehicles of rhetorical performance and cultural production, serving to maintain what little African diasporic communities maintain from their indigenous communities and religions.

I just wanted to share me and my best friend’s height headcanons for the ninja (and a couple of others) so here’s this :) enjoy pls

Kai - 5’6. HEAR ME OUT. I have no doubt in my mind that Kai is shorter than the other ninja and that he spikes his hair to feel taller (because his hair adds like 2 to 3 inches to his height). He just gives of those vibes. Shorter than the rest Kai supremacy.

Jay - 5’8. Not much to say about this one but he’s taller than Kai and Lloyd so he’s happy. Also him and Nya are right around the same height.

Cole - 6’3. This man TOWERS over the rest of the ninja. He could literally be used as a jungle gym. He also has a love-hate relationship with being tall, because having to duck through most doorways is never fun.

Lloyd - 5’7. He’s a pretty average height, but the fact that he is exactly 1 inch taller than Kai, is the most hilarious thing to him. He often smooshes Kai’s hair down flat and stands them back to back just to prove that he is taller. Kai HATES it and Lloyd just loves the fact that he is taller than his big brother.

Zane - 6’ exactly. He is pretty comfortable with his height and is just glad he isn’t tall to the extent that Cole is. That poor, tall man.

Nya - 5’8 as well. She is most definitely taller than Kai and her and Jay are just around the same height. Her and Lloyd love bullying Kai (lovingly of course) for his height.

PIXAL - 5’9 and 3/5’s. That’s it. That’s exactly her height and the others have to make sure they add in the 3/5’s when talking about her height or there WILL be consequences. And you really don’t want to mess with Pix.

Skylor - 5’10. No doubt in my mind that she is a tall woman. She just gives off those vibes. Tall and someone you don’t want to mess with.

Harumi - 5’2. Rumi is either really tall or really short, there is no in between. I just think that she is super short and feral, not to mention petite. Her height gives her the speed she needs. She would be the one to be bullied for her height if they weren’t so darn intimated by her.
