This short drama (literally one 10 min episode) feels like a make up advertisement that’s parodying the BL genre. Why this even counts, I don’t even know!

Death’s First Love (Premiered Oct 1; Good For What It Was)

I enjoyed getting my heart ripped out each and every episode, which made me wanna see Sakuya and Nayuki get together even more. On the other hand, I felt that for each of the 30 minute episodes, each of them felt so drawn out and that the story barely went anywhere. Would I watch it again for the characters? Sure, but only if a friend asked me to.

My Damn Business (Premiered Oct 5; Good For What It Was)

Short, sweet, tropey.

Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo (Premiered Oct 17; Good for What it Was)

I feel like dramas have always had the issue of not telling the difference between a flashback and the present day. The first few episodes had me hooked, but the more it goes on, it feels like the story drags. It’s weird because Korean BL are usually better than this.

The Secret of Work (Premiered Nov 2; Why did I Even Finish this?)

I guess this is what happens when I watch dramas made for TikTok. The most hilarious thing I ever saw in my life though is that this “official drama” had the Spongebob time cards! Uh…COPYRIGHT? I would feel better if this show was a college project rather than an official show.

21 Days Closer Step (Premiered Nov 5; Good for What it Was)

It’s very subtle, but it’s a relaxing level of subtle as we explore two romantic lives in one short series. Thank you, Thai dramas, for getting me back into slice of life.

Caged Again (Premiered Nov 15; Good For What It Was)

I was introduced to this show via the pilot, and I actually made a spit take when I saw the CGI penguins walking around. I knew I was getting into something when I decided to pick this series up. I mean, you’re walking into a show about a humanized penguin and panther getting together. You’re about to see some corny and even lowkey stupid shit. However, this show does have it sweet and even high stake moments, which kept me watching. Would I recommend this show to anyone? No, not really.

Last night me and my brother watched Kiseijuu the Korean version - newly dropped on Netflix absolute banger - and its basically inspired by the Parasyte anime which I never seen. 4 minutes in I was giving birth to microwaves, jaw dropped. That's not the point anyway, point is the show was 6 episodes. I love dramas that are 6/8 episodes especially as a neurodivergent 😩🤞

Something about the ability of 16 episode korean dramas being able to fit in 4 car accidents, 2 kidn4pps, 7 deaths, 3 revivals, parents always dying, 43 breaks ups and 1 marriage. We're tired (i eat it up)

Mommy's Counterattack

Yun Qingqing is back in her husband's life for revenge after his infidelity and the loss of their child 5 years ago. On the outside she is a top designer and model, but secretly she infiltrates his house as a nanny to get her designs back.

The popular theme for short dramas lately is REVENGE ! I do enjoy a powerful woman tackling her opponents (and often times it's her ex-husband) to win the long game. This drama thinks it's a serious story, but it's really not and you just go with some of the ridiculous ideas because you're enjoying it.

The Shoufu Can Read Mind

Modern Shen Zhihuan wakes up in the body of Shen Zhihuan, the wife of Xu Yanqing, a cruel and evil Grand Secretariat in the Sui Dynasty. She tries to divorce him because she knows his bad ending, but she doesn't know that he can read her mind and knows her plans.

I love a time travel story and this one is rather cute. Add to that a "What Women Want" theme in there and things get a little interesting. It is very similar to The Bossy Husband who Loved Me, but the girl just wants a divorce and not ruin her husband. :)

Rain Lover

Yanyan comes from a family that is contracted to give their daughter to the river god on her 25th birthday. When she meets Bai Long, she falls in love not knowing that he is actually her contracted fiancé, the river god.

Cute mini drama! The episodes are super short and the story is sweet. The river god and Yanyan have a pure, simple love. Who doesn't enjoy a modern fantasy drama?

My Chubby Queen

Clothes designer Su Jinxia travels back in time and wakes up as the nation's queen! After escaping the palace, she opens a clothing store for plus-size women so they can be admired as well as the skinny women.

Another time travel drama! I enjoy this one for the (shock!) admiration of plus-size women. So many dramas hate on fat women in a mostly humorous tone and that gets tiring, but this drama at least makes an effort to say that they are women too that deserve love attention just like the thinner ladies. Yay!

Looks like 24 episodes. VIP dropped 6 today, and then it's going to be 2 per day for a couple of days, and then one per day. Non-VIP will start on June 19th with 2 episodes, and then it will be 2 episodes per day, for a quick 2 week finish. I'm not sure, but I think this is a short drama, again.

Also, I hope they photo shopped the heck out of that pick, cause Li Jiu Lin did NOT need to lose more weight. He looks way too slender there.
