As a note, because it was brought to my attention that sometimes my excitement/disappointment cycles can come across as very rude when interacting with others in the same fandoms- if I become negative about something, it's usually because I want it to succeed. I am so excited for the bones, but when the meal is delivered, the meat attached to them is just fat and gristle.

I also have a tendency to have very long and winding ideas but trail off in the middle because I get tired of typing/getting them out of my head/connecting all the dots on my internal murder board out loud, but still post what I have because I still want to say it and hope others can finish my thoughts with me.

I am trying to be more considerate when replying, but I am very blunt and tend to speak in what looks like absolute statements because in my head there's a lot of the conversation already filled in, so of course we're already on the same page. But sometimes we aren't even reading the same book.

So, apologies in advance if I come off as mean or talking over your points. I am a person that tells a story of similar pain when someone is expressing how they're hurting to show I understand and have felt the same way. Some people take comfort in that, some people think I'm trying to one-up them in their time of vulnerability.

I am excited! I am SO EXCITED to talk to people that enjoy/hate the same things as I do! I want to share thoughts and argue about the little details in a friendly way. Arguing without stakes is fun! Debating isn't about who wins or loses, but all the interesting points a different view can bring to all sides of the table!

The word has the same origin as tent: ‘a portable shelter of skins or cloths stretched over poles’, like the tent (actually just a roof) a vendor would use in a bazaar or market. Eventually ‘tienda’ became synonymous for any place where they sell things.

To avoid any confusion a camping tent is now called ‘una tienda de campaña’ (or ‘carpa’ in LA).

“Can you tend the shop for a few hours?”

My boyfriend and I live in the same province, in different cities (I live in a town/village). Today, I said I wanted some hot chips and he said "of we pass near a confitería we'll buy some" and I was like weird but ok, idk what path we'll take, maybe we'll see one.

So we're taking our daily stroll and we see a candy shop and he stops and says "maybe we'll find the chips here", and I was like "that's no confitería, that's a barraca!" And he vehemently defended that confitería MEANT candy shop, and I had to get my phone to look it up for him so he'd know that's not the common word for that for the rest of us.

He still says that the word is confitería. A confitería is a shop where bakers make sweets, cakes and the like everywhere but in his town.

dad toji x reader grocery shopping with baby megumi

ෆ tags. dad!toji x female reader. fluff. you’re gumi’s mother.

“look at your mama, kid.” toji grins as he lazily pushes your shopping cart forwards. you were walking a few steps ahead to grab some necessities, leaving the father-son duo behind, “she’s so damn beautiful, ain’t she?”

megumi was seated in the baby-seat, babbling and cooing just by hearing the familiar word ‘mama’ spill from toji’s lips. the simple mention of you gets your little son feeling all giddy on the inside, even if his limited vocabulary doesn’t allow him to fully grasp what his dad was saying.

at one point, you seem to have wandered a bit too far ahead. toji and megumi were three aisles behind you, which you didn’t even notice because you were too busy going through your grocery list.

“oh, no, what’re we gonna do?” toji playfully puts on a worried expression as he pokes his son’s chubby cheek, “we lost mama.” and as if on cue, megumi’s smile turns upside down. he couldn’t understand what his father was saying, though seeing that (fake) worried expression on his parent’s face was enough to make him burst out crying.

“hey, hey,” toji immediately tries to calm megumi down by ruffling his hair gently, “i was just jokin’, but eh— guess you don’t even know what that means, do ya?”

you immediately rush back to see what occured once you heard the familiar cries of your child and see your husband trying to soothe megumi. toji was now holding onto the baby, one hand on the back of megumi’s tiny head while the other was slowly patting his lower back in a soothing manner.

“what happened, love?” you ask worriedly as you walk over to the two. megumi seemed to have calmed down in his father’s embrace after a few moments. in fact, your son had completely forgotten his sadness the second you were visible to him again.

toji shrugs and scratches his cheek, “i was just jokin’ with the kiddo, but i guess he doesn’t like his daddy’s humor.”

you sigh and hold yourself back from giving toji an earful in the midst of the store once you realised what probably happened.

if the man’s not teasing you, he’s teasing his child. you don’t know how many times you’ve scolded your husband for making megumi cry on accident due to his jokes. it’s quite literally impossible to get him to understand that megumi is too young to pick up on social cues. it’s either that or toji simply acts like he doesn’t understand.

it was most likely the latter since you know that toji always loves getting reactions out of the people he teases;

“toji—” “yeah, yeah, i know. i won’t do it again, babe.”

oh, he most definitely will.

Okay, but after Charles and Edwin have gotten their shit together and finally started dating, Charles still calls Edwin mate, because that is what he has always done, and sometimes it feels strange to finish a sentence without any kind of nickname at the end. And it's not like Edwin minds.

Only that Crystal, one day, just snaps, like, "Charles you are aware that you aren't mates anymore, are you? Because I walked into on you two making out at least three times this month and you are currently in Edwin's lap. Don't you think you should update your vocabulary a little?"

And Niko coos, and agrees, and Charles just raises an eyebrow, thinking.

Crystal regrets saying anything just five days later, because it's "here you go, luv", when Charles hands Edwin a letter opener.

"Careful with the sulfur, babes, that shit stains real bad when you get it on your hands. And yes, even ghost skin, don't try and start that with me", when they are brewing a potion.

"Come with, darling, I found this ancient tome you'd really like", when Charles grabs Edwin's hand and drags him to a secluded area in the local magic shop, either to look at a book, or just to share a few kisses.

But what finally gets Crystal to snap is when Edwin looks at Charles like he has never seen a single more beautiful being in the world in the middle of a case, and says, "What brilliant reasoning, my dearest heart."

They ignore her pleading to just go back to normal completely, but a few days after, there's a mate thrown in between the loves and the sweethearts and the babycakes.

It's the first time Crystal considers retiring before she has reached the age of twenty.
