that's very reassuring, thank you <3 i've loved everything i posted here so far and have not felt pushed to post anything i haven't enjoyed, but sometimes i forget i can like. use this blog for whatever i want and not *just* headcanons/fics/mets/etc lol. and i also forget i don't have to rush myself. it's annoying to want to write and either not have time or not have the words work. i used to run a fandom blog in my teens that got very large and felt like a chore and i was so stressed about the need to perform and the numbers and all of that. like if a fic didn't do well i saw it as a personal failing and forced myself to write popular headcanons just for the numbers game. was not fun or sustainable in the long run and i think it contributed to me no longer having any taste for the ship i primarily wrote for. so for too long i treated existing in fandom like a job lol. i've mostly gotten it through to myself that this is a space for me, but i occasionally forget when i'm so caught up in all the things i want to get to for this blog. my to-write list is a mile long and i need to be bonked with a paper towel roll, i think. so it's very kind of you to say this bc the reminder is nice <3

Stolas doesn't blame Fizzarolli at all for being nervous about the future. He'd offered to do a Tarot reading for him, to see if he might be able to offer some reassurance, maybe some guidance, if he wanted to accept it.

Which is how he finds himself sitting in the little apartment where they'd had their first real interaction, where they'd …. talked, for lack of a better term. Though this time, he's doing what he can to help Fizzarolli, as much as he's able. Not everyone finds doing readings as soothing as he does, after all.

Once he's in and set up, a little table between the two of them, Stolas hands the deck of cards to Fizzarolli.

"Shuffle the deck and think of the question you want to ask," he said. It would help set the intentions, which would help him pull cards related to what Fizzarolli wanted to know.

After a moment, he holds his hand out for the deck, so that he can spread it out on the table between them. Stolas looks over the backs of the cards before him, and very deliberately selects three cards, placing the first to his left, the second in the middle, and the third to his right.

It was a simple spread, but effective, for the most part. He'd certainly done more complex, but this was fine for now. Unless Fizzarolli decided he'd prefer a more in-depth reading, which he'd be more than happy to do.

But for now, he turns over the first card, to reveal the Nine of Swords, reversed. "This card represents your past. When the Nine of Swords is reversed like this, it represents feeling trapped. Whether that's by circumstances or one's own emotions and despair, which makes it hard to recognize anything beyond that, especially anything good. But even with it reversed, there was strength to get through this period, to get beyond it."

Which leads him to turn over the second card, revealing the Two of Cups. A soft smile slips onto his face as he sees the card, glancing over to Fizzarolli. "This is your present. The Two of Cups represents love, reconciliation. It shows that, even with past hardships, you've been able to move beyond those, to find love and strength in new relationships, and to mend old ones, through communication and understanding."

But the question Fizzarolli really wanted to know about was represented by the final card. Stolas turns it over, revealing Judgement.

The smile on his face widens as he looks from the card back to Fizzarolli. "Judgement is your final card. Which represents significant life change. It offers second chances, a change in circumstances that have been holding you back, a positive outlook on coming events. You'll see rewards from your past, that will help set you up for future success."

Most people didn't put a lot of stock into readings, but he hoped that Fizzarolli would let this one help encourage him, give him a confidence boost. Because while Stolas hadn't known him long, personally, it was already very clear that he was going to be okay, no matter what happened. He had people to care for him, to cheer him on, who would pick him up when he fell. There was so much brightness in his future; he just had to reach for it.
