ACD Canon in KH Coder, part 1/?
Of 14 ‘ejaculate’ hits, 11 were by Watson, 3 by Percy Phelps.
That co-ocurrence network was made with the default settings, and I have only the faintest hint of an idea of how the process works.

It’s been a while.
It’s early enough in the year that I still have hopes of being more productive. Now that some things are out of the way, I have time to do fannish stuff, but will I actually do it? I’m in suspense, too.
Today’s random urge was to download KH Coder and put all of ACD Canon into it. Because I never formally trained to do text analysis and thought ehh what's stopping me from trying? And also because I now have a snazzy new laptop.

Regardless of how Doyle would feel about the persistence of a market for Sherlock Holmes pastiche, I think he’d like the fact that MX also publishes NLP stuff.

Miss Sherlock: Ep. 7-8 (finale)
Well, that was fun.
Judging it as a Sherlock Holmes adaptation, the characterisations/relationships/motivations are quite different from ACD canon, so I see why some people wouldn’t be keen.
And maybe it’s not so much characterisations, but cultural context.
But I feel it captured the spirit of how the stories are basically improbability after improbability, in an entertaining way.
And I like detective stuff in general, so the level of Holmes-ness isn’t my priority, even if the brand was what got me interested in this.
Morikawa’s motivations are still too murky for me. There must be something more than a researcher’s all-consuming dedication.
I do like her, though.
Shibata’s character development, finally. Sherlock and her police bros are the dream team.
Sometimes I’m not sure how I feel about Wato’s character. I used to think she’s too feminised, but then I remembered Watson’s this nurturing romantic, and in many cases you can’t just write a woman exactly as you would a man, so I went ehh what the hell, she’s fine.
I’m kind of happy the meaning behind Sherlock’s name wasn’t revealed, because I want more of this show.
