volunteered for the first workshop in my creative writing class this semester not because i actually am that desperate for peer review but because i want to establish to this class that i am a good writer as quickly as possible. so now this weekend's project is to write a poem that's going to physically explode people's heads

Samson // Riding with the Angels (Russ Ballard cover)
Katie was a kid
I guess she hid her thoughts from everyone
Went to school at eight, she was never late
Didn't know the meaning of fun
Every night Katie prayed to God above
But her daddy gave her everything but love
She woke up one day, said: "I'm on my way"
Her mummy read the letter, it did say:
"I'm on my way, I'm on my way"

How do you know? Why do you say that like he’s destroyed planets before? Also “flavored”? Which ones of you are licking his glowing fist?

Enjoying BG3 except for one thing... I'm a WASD laptop gamer!
Movement with the vanilla settings is a total nightmare. Even broke out my mouse which I haven't had to do since Detroit: Become Human and it's still... yikes. I just want my preferred over the shoulder POV, instead of worrying about moving my Tav and the camera at the same time. A weirdly stressful and disorienting way to play especially in tight spaces since it's possible to take the camera reaaaally far from your party. It's fine in combat mode but when walking around it's... not ideal. Kind of feels like my entire party is drunk, all the time.
Which, my Tav accidentally got drunk in the middle of a fight because we're still figuring out the broad strokes. Probably not out of character.
Need to spend some time thoughtfully rekeying to be intuitive or look around to see if there's a good WASD mod (and if so, I have to figure out how to mod!). I need to fiddle with my graphics settings as well; character creation kept rapidly lowering the quality when zoomed in to the face (you know, the most important part for detail work) and I know my graphics card can handle anything this game can throw at it. That one's probably on me being too excited to play to actually ruminate over my gfx settings, so I'm less concerned about it.
Other thoughts so far: voice acting is delightful, love the designs, love that the game let me start as nonbinary, feels DAO-adjacent in a great way.

that worst finale poll is feeding me so well. I love reading about trainwrecks in shows I've never watched and going 'wow, really dodged a bullet there!' it's like the inverse of how bad it feels to see spoilers for shows you like.
