The Extra Mile

I started watching Krapopolis a little while ago and even though I'm not done with it yet, I really like what I've seen. Along with it being funny, it makes me happy to see that the characters actually care about one another. That's not necessary for a comedy show like this. I've seen a lot of comedies that focus on families and they hate one another. Here, they actually don't. It seems like they do, but they quickly show how that isn't the case. Heck, I remember one moment where they commented on how their family was actually pretty healthy. I just think that's sweet. Here are some of my favorite examples so far.

You have Shlub who went with Stupendous to find her biological father. He was so upset when the other cyclops didn't want to be there for her. Not condoning the murder which happened, but they are monsters so...I guess things happen sometimes. It was nice seeing Stupendous realize that she had a supportive father in Shlub. Him being her stepdad didn't mean that he couldn't love her as much as he would love as biological daughter.

Tyrannis tried to protect Hippocampus when they went to the science fair type of place. He was really worried that his brother was going to get himself killed by Hephaestus. Of course, he later backed off and pretended like he didn't know him, but at least the first instinct was to keep him out of danger.

Then you have Deliria and Hippocampus. Their relationship is so strange and almost bitter, but at the same time, they were able to find a mutual respect for one another through their intelligence. Hippocampus can now call her "Mom" since it reminds her of how he won and in a weird way, I feel like she enjoys this since it gave her a challenge. I also bet that if he almost died, she'd help him.

Shlub wanted to help Tyrannis when he got his tail so that the demigod wouldn't give into his monstrous side and turn bad. Unlike Shlub's own father, he wanted to be a kind and caring figure in his son's life.

Hippocampus showed his caring for Stupendous and vice versa when she was mourning her friend and almost died in the process since she couldn't let go of that grief. The only reason she left the underworld was because staying there would have cost her brother his life too.

I liked the Shlub and Hippocampus moment too where the dad was so worried that he had become a serial killer. Now, he shouldn't have been supportive of the alleged crimes, but I'm still giving him some monster slack on this. He wanted Hippocampus to accept who he was and know that he's always be cared for.

Deliria was worried about Tyrannis when he started going out with Demeter. This was probably her sweetest moment so far to me. Even though she did interfere a lot, at the end of the day, she seemed like a mom who didn't want her son to get hurt. She even accepted the blame so that he wouldn't think that Demeter just didn't want to be with him anymore.

I also like the relationship between Deliria and Shlub. It's so weird, but they really do care about one another. I liked how Shlub was able to see that he can't always go along with whatever she wants. When she kept making more Medusa problems, they both came to terms with their part of this and seemed stronger for it.

I really want to see more of these episodes and see how else the family gets to bond. Are there any other moments you all saw that were cute?

By accident of birth, you're othered from the rest of your people. There is literally no one else like you. No one alive at least. You are born in the shape and in the shadow of long dead monarchs, Great Men.

But what does it mean to be a man in a society that is otherwise comprised entirely of women (I do not believe in gender essentialism; but I do believe in societal pressures). You are a boy and are constantly reminded of it. A boy without a father, without brothers; and when you become a man, you will never have sons of your own or even nephews. You're a single drop of masculinity in a ocean of mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, nieces; awash in femininity but forever separate from it. You are a man and that makes you king.

Before you're out of swaddling, you're placed on a pedestal. Elevated, in some regards. Afforded the greatest privileges available to your people. But they're not quite your people. However thinly it is presented, there's always going to be a degree of separation from everyone you know and care about. Your otherness is constantly reinforced, celebrated even. You're going to be a king. And you don't get a choice in the matter. You must stand alone, forever.

There are other men in the world, but they are not Gerudo. There are Gerudo, but none of them are men. The only people who could understand your struggle exist only as imperious statues and aspirational legends. They are Gerudo men, just like you, but they're not people anymore. They are kings, conquerors, shapers of history, children of destiny, great men. You are a man and that means you are destined for greatness.

Try not to crack under the pressure.

Some stupid Krapopolis episode idea(s)

Maybe Tyrannis was back at the old forest festival site and found some crushed magic beans in a bag (like the end of the episode) looks like it trampled or something, I dunno. And tried it, it was great at first and he was getting work done very fast, then he became somewhat addicted and very much sleep deprived and he started to become coo coo crazy. Also there’s always two plots in one episode so there’s probably gonna be some sort of “too much snakes” problem(s) with Deliria and Shlub has to deal with it from help from the Killassians. While Deliria, Hippopocampus, and Stupendous try to fix/get rid of The Beans. (Tyrannis eventually names them coffee beans and eventually makes coffee, also if I spelled the names wrong, sorry) there would probably be a few references to Ty’s Tail Tale about the cobras and unicorns or something lol

*Stupendous walks in with Shlub while Deliria turns another subject into a snake*

Stupendous: “Mom I think you have to stop turning people into snakes.”

Shlub: “She’s right honey, or else there will be no one else to have sex with other then snakes.”

Deliria sitting on layout chair(don’t know what their called): *scoff* “oh shut it, I’m a goddess, I can turn whoever I want into snakes.” *accidentally shoots towards the Killassians area*

Hey I’m the person that did the asmr/twitch steddie last time, and while I’m nervous to be off anon, I feel like you deserve nice things so I hope this one’s okay and that you enjoy it! Also I am not a good writer so please excuse any grammatical mistakes <3

Nerdy omega Steve that isn’t nerdy in the tech sense or even the book sense. No, Steve loves antiques and oddities to the point that he knows an absurd amount of history and facts about different eras from his research. It’s something he’s always been able to easily hide from the rest of the pack considering it’s not something that really comes up. The only one who even slightly knows is Robin, but even she isn’t privy to the extent of his interests. So when basically everyone has left Hawkins besides himself and Wayne, Steve decided that Roan county could use their own oddities and antique shop. He has more money he could ever imagine with the government payouts, so why not do something he’s actually interested in. This turns into him asking Wayne if he’d like to work at the store so that someone can be there while he’s out collecting and curating items for the shop.

Years go by and the store is actually really popular at this point, like hear about it in Chicago popular. Which is exactly how Eddie and Robin, who decided to live together in the Windy City, hear of it. They haven’t been back to Hawkins since they left, with Steve and Wayne coming out to visit them instead every time. Now however they are too intrigued to not make the visit, so on a whim they road trip back for the weekend, and to see if the rumors of a mysterious shop with an elusive and spellbinding omega owner are true. What a shock they get when they pull up to see Wayne sitting at the counter through the window reading a book. Despite their disbelief and quick work to get inside, the two alphas are floored when they finally walk into the shop. It’s absolutely beautiful, like it came out of a museum but without the stuffy feeling of one. And the smell, god the smell was so good, like old books, vanilla cinnamon with a hint of citrus. The smell definitely wasn’t Wayne’s calming soft lavender beta scent, but his scent also paired well with the other scents in the room. Amusement glinted in Wayne’s eyes only for him to start out right cackling at their faces when Steve comes out of the back dressed like an omega from the 1800’s.

Wearing a beautiful butter yellow floor length skirt his hair now grown out and pinned up, glasses askew on his face, Steve is too preoccupied with the small jar in his hands to realize his friends presence right away. After placing his jar, Steve finally glances up to see what’s got Wayne in such a state only to be so outwardly pleased that the smell in the room doubles. Eddie having been completely unaware of Steve’s designation is gobsmacked; Steve wearing blockers and his lack of talking about a heat or rut had him assuming he was just a beta. (Not that he wouldn’t have dated him either way but most betas prefer to stay with betas so he just assumed there would be no point). They spend the rest of their weekend trip getting filled in on all the ins and outs of the shop, how much of a success it’s been and how on the way Steve may have accidentally become the most sought after omega in the county. This seems to be a big hit on the head for Eddie making him rethink his hometown all together. Soon enough plans are made for him to start his own tattoo shop in Muncie now that he’s been in the industry for a few years.

After moving back and spending all of his extra time together with Steve and Wayne, Eddie finally gets the guts to ask Steve to court him. But of course he can’t do it like any other shlub, no it’s gotta be special. So he prepares and plans as close as possible to a historically accurate courting, the gifts, the gestures, the chaperoning, absolutely everything is tailored for Steve. Of course Steve was already head over heels for Eddie, but this was just the icing on top of it all. It takes a full year for the courtship to end. Which it does spectacularly, with a fantasy themed bonding ceremony in the spring. They are as happy as could be and both exited to finally start building their own little (it won’t be little but don’t tell them) pack together.

Flight Rising may have its community problems but at least it will never escalate to the state that Neopets is currently in. I almost never throw shade at users in FR for being upset with something on the site because it's NEVER gonna be Neopets. Some random shlub on FR can be like "I don't think they should update the art on anything ever and never ever ever release a new breed of dragon ever" and I'd be like "Oh yeah that's like a decade old conversation on Neopets"
