19 and 15! Josele and or Shizuka for the Oc ask game!!
Hello hello Unni~!
Since you didn't specify which of the ask games you pulled the questions from (because I am trying to answer for both, but maybe I should've stuck to one... 😅), I'll go ahead and give answers for both.
(Also the answers became a lot longer than I expected
)
Shizuka
Thematic
15) Pick an article of clothing to represent them. What does it mean?
I'm basing this on my own personal opinion but I think Shizuka could be represented by a scarf.
I see scarves as a symbol of comfort and warmth, as they're most commonly used in the wintertime to further bundle one's self up against the cold. Shizuka isn't very good at providing comfort to others but I still associate her with a scarf because I wrote her character as someone who needs to find comfort outside of herself.
Not only that, but scarves also symbolize introversion and vulnerability to me. A trope with scarves is for a character to hide their face in their scarf when embarrassed or scared. Shizuka has a tough persona but inside she's vulnerable to feelings of self-doubt and keeps to herself because she's kinda bad with people.
19) Which of the four temperaments (sanguine, choleric, melancholic, or phlegmatic) are they?
I'd say Shizuka best fits the choleric temperament. She's not the extroverted type as cholerics usually are but she still has a majority of the traits associated with it. Her negative choleric traits include her bluntness, her workaholic tendencies, and emotional distance from others. Her more positive traits include her open-mindedness, passion, and tenacity.
Meta
15) How does your oc interact with the canon narrative? What about it do they change?
First off, Shizuka is shipped with Inosuke so she takes Aoi's place as his love interest. But that's something small.
Shizuka's role in changing the canon narrative involves a lot of joining in on certain arcs and taking the place of another character in a certain situation/battle.
During the Mount Natagumo arc, Shizuka is present (on her way to Final Selection so she's not even an official demon slayer yet) and goes onto the mountain (for reasons) and ends up being the one to fight the Elder Sister Spider Demon in Shinobu's place.
Shizuka joins the Mugen Train arc as she temporarily trained with Kyoujurou in the past and Tanjirou asked her to help introduce him to the Flame Pillar (this follows more of the manga explanation of the Kamaboko Squad boarding the train to speak with Kyoujurou rather than being formally requested to join the mission as was the case in the anime). She doesn't do much on the train, mostly acting as Nezuko and Zenitsu's back up. But once the train is dealt with, Shizuka does her best to tend to Tanjirou's wounds and uses herself to shield him when Akaza shows up.
She also plays a part in the Entertainment District arc, taking Tanjirou and Zenitsu's place alongside Suzume (my friend Steph's oc), and then much later in the Infinity Fortress arc where she fights Douma alongside Kanao and Inosuke.
I suppose I can also say that Shizuka's presence is also a key point in a narrative involving a second group of antagonists outside of the demons. But this one answer has gone on long enough so I'll leave it at that.
19) How might your oc react to finding out you are the one responsible for their life?
Oooohhhh... Ah... Shizuka would not like me. I gave her a pretty hard life. She's been working since childhood. She has a complex about being the youngest/weakest/least useful child. Her mother died while she was training to be a demon slayer. Shizuka later finds out about her siblings dying to demons. Her life is a wreck and it's because I made it that way.
So Shizuka would have words for me. She wouldn't do me any harm because that wouldn't really change her life since it's been written already. But I can see her questioning why I'd make her (and others) suffer and then leaving in anger/frustration.
Josele
I already answered all of the questions from both ask games here and here.

6, 27, and 22 for the fanfic relationship couples ask game! for Shizuka and or Joselle!
Hiya Unni~! Thank you again for asking me questions (and heads up, I'll be diving into your inbox too~), you know how much I like to answer. 😆 Lemme take those questions there and answer them for you!
6) Have you ever started to write a relationship and had it develop differently than you expected? How so?
Shizuka: Interestingly, when I was first conceptualizing Shizuka, I didn't intend for Shizuka's crush on Inosuke to be reciprocated. Initially, Shizuka was essentially going to be a begrudging kouhai figure to Tanjirou and co (she used to be a year younger than them being 14 like Muichirou). I say begrudging because she had a couple skills that put her ahead of the Kamaboko Squad but the boys would catch up and surpass her. However, a friend lovingly pestered me into changing things. Now, Shizuka and Inosuke are romantically involved, and she will fight as Tanjirou and co's equal.
Josele: I didn't actually intend for Josele to be romantically involved with Nacht and Morgen when I started creating her. I knew that Nacht would be aware of Josele's circumstances (a curse and a devil contrast) but he was just... in the know. But then the chapter that revealed the Fausts' backstory came out at the same time and I was like "Oh, this is going to be delicious drama!" So for the wider internet, Josele has always been with Morgen and Nacht, but for me, there was a small window of time where I had no clue what past romantic connection left her so traumatized.
Wow... I can't believe for both I went "no, they won't be get with those characters romantically... (waits two minutes) actually wait, they will!" Asfjgsujkirhiajhra!
27) Do you have any characters who are hopeless romantics? How do they interact with the story?
So neither Shizuka nor Josele are the hopeless romantic types. Shizuka is too jaded for that kind of thinking. Josele is more romantically inclined, especially when she was with Morgen but after his death, she became a lot more... worried.
I do have an oc who is a hopeless romantic: Helia Nymvire. She is bubbly, ditzy, and so very much in love with the idea of love. Helia brings a bright spot to a rather dour canon character's life and will always be one of the last people to give up hope in seemingly hopeless situations.
22) Have you ever written a break-up scene? How did it go? Was it a permanent split?
For Josele or Shizuka, no. 😅
It's pretty impossible for Shizuka and Inosuke to break up before ever dating. They have their arguments but in my head, it's usually petty stuff and I've yet to come up with a scenario in their their actions towards each other, and not outside circumstances pressuring them, would tear them apart. I dunno.
I mean, I guess Morgen's death scene could be seen as a break up since the relationship he and Josele had couldn't continue if he was dead... But it's not really a straightforward break-up.
I have written a break-up fic that was a Yuno x reader fic. While I knew going into it that Yuno and the reader character would break up, I still had a bit of trouble making sure to get across the sweetness of the relationship before having to bring down the heartbreak hammer. However, it does end on a hopeful note (though, I've never come up with a follow up).

đŸŽ¶đŸ’â˜ș for josele and or shizuka for the ask game!
Aaaaaah~! Unni~! Thank you for the asks! Thanks you for asking about Shizuka~! KJDHAHEIUTHAIETH! I'm gonna answer all three for both because I'm so excited!
Shizuka Hisasue
đŸŽ¶ - How do they sound? Describe their voice
I always considered that Shizuka might have a surprisingly high voice. She has a stern look and serious attitude, but it being offset by a higher pitched voice. I think a good choice as a voice claim would be Saki Fujita. Her voice is in the soprano range and can do childish, grumpy, calm, and more. I think somewhere between the Skuld and Mitsuki performances would be the ideal for Shizuka.
💐 - Their favorite plant/flower
Shizuka's favorite plant is the morning glory. They're the flower that appears on the haori she wears (which was once her mother's actually). She loves the blue flowers the most but is also fond of the pink ones that can be grown.
â˜ș - Something that always makes them smile
Enjoying a sweet treat! Shizuka has a weakness for sweet foods. Whether it be a freshly picked fruit or a cake with whipped cream frosting. Mitsuri would love to share honey and butter covered pancakes with Shizuka because it would bring the cutest smile to Shizuka's face.
Josele Canty
đŸŽ¶ - How do they sound? Describe their voice
I actually have a voice claim for Josele! Miyuki Sawashiro. I mostly look to her performance as Celty Sturluson from the Durarara series for how Josele would sound. Alto and soothing. Her voice does carry a warmth to it in my opinion. But Sawashiro also voices Daki from Demon Slayer and I kinda imagine that performance whenever Josele's devil manifests through her body. Much colder and sharper sounding but it's still the same voice in the end.
💐 - Their favorite plant/flower
Josele's favorite flower is the forget-me-not. They're tiny and fragile but they have an incredibly strong meaning of remembrance. The flowers also remind her of the Faust twins, their eye color specifically. A soft pale blue not like ice, but like forget-me-nots.
Josele's fondness for the flower is so marked that even while cursed, she always pauses to admire them in a field or flowershop. The Black Bulls regularly get her some sprigs of the blooms to keep in her room.
â˜ș - Something that always makes them smile
Josele can't help but smile whenever she styles someone's hair. Whether it just be brushing it out or braiding it together neatly, the simple intimacy of playing with a loved one's hair is something Josele is very fond of. She did it with the Fausts and later does it with the ladies of the Black Bulls if they allow it (usually it's just Noelle and Vanessa). It's something simple, cute, and playful, and Josele enjoys that.

A Seamstress and Tailor
Summary: A small writing project I did involving @cringeyvanillamilk and @mikuyuuss' Demon Slayer ocs (as well as my own). A scenario wherein Akari meets Takayuki, Suzume, and Shizuka. Genre: general Word count: ~2100 A/N: Thanks for letting me use your ocs in this fic, Steph and Unni! It's always fun to write ocs meeting each other jahdglahsrut!
..........
Another evening, another successful mission.
Akari watched as the demon she defeated turned to ash. A cremation without flames. Thinking about a demon’s death that way left Akari feeling odd. Like their deaths were incomplete without the proper ritual.
Then again, the lives of demons were wrong altogether.
The thought quickly left Akari as she sensed a familiar presence behind her.
Giyuu, who she’d been sent on the mission with. While the threat hadn’t been serious like a Demon Moon, Kagaya had correctly predicted that the demon activity was several weaker ones. Thus a team up was done to handle it more easily.
“So you finished u—GYAA!” Akari yelped at the sight of Giyuu when she’d fully turned around.
While not severely injured, he did have a ridiculous amount of small cuts on his face and his hands. Some even leaked little bits of blood. And his haori was a tattered wreck.
“Giyuu-san, how did that happen?! I thought these were all weak demons,” Akari remarked while stepping closer to the man.
“They were weak. I just tripped into a bramble bush,” Giyuu answered flatly. “Sorry to worry you, Akari-san.”
Akari blinked a couple of times.
Classic Giyuu. He was cool as a cucumber on the outside but clumsy on the inside. Though usually that was a social clumsiness rather than physical. Imagining Giyuu, a skilled Pillar, tripping was also very hard for Akari.
Akari examined Giyuu again, focusing on his haori and the shreds it was in. She bit the inside of her cheek.
“Giyuu-san
I’m not sure I’ll be able to restore your haori from this
 I’m—”
“Don’t worry, there’s someone who can help with this,” Giyuu stated without missing a beat. “And actually, it’s about time you two got introduced.”
Akari raised a brow.

..
The Bird Pillar, Takayuki Fukushima.
Akari had heard of the man through Giyuu and the other Pillars. That Takayuki was stern and disciplined. That his temper could surprise someone. That he indulged in literature in his spare time. She’d never had the chance to meet him herself though. Things just never worked out for them to cross paths it seemed.
But today, Akari found herself at the threshold of Takayuki’s home, called the Eagle Manor.
I guess Shinobu-san isn’t the only one who fancies naming their housing, Akari mentally noted as Giyuu knocked on the door. Does that make them weirdos?
The one to answer the door was a young woman. She was shockingly tall, probably as tall as Giyuu or taller. Her hair was mostly brown hair and a few streaks of black and white mixed in. She wore a simple brown yukata and a white overcoat.
“Tomioka-sama, welcome back,” the woman greeted with a grin. Her eyes, a shade of orange which reminded Akari of cattails, then landed on Akari. “Oh, and you are?”
“Akari Takahashi. Nice to meet you.”
“Right, likewise. And I’m Suzume Hayashi.”
The young women bowed their heads to each other.
“So uh
” Suzume smiled at Giyuu in a way that told Akari that she wasn’t entirely sure of herself. “What brings you here, Tomioka-sama?”
“Sewing.” Giyuu raised the bundled remains of his haori in his hands.
Suzume blinked.
Akari blinked.
Giyuu didn’t say anything else.
“R-right
 Then um
” Suzume gestured inside. “Right this way?”
Suzume walked ahead of Giyuu and Akari as they were side-by-side.
“Do you and Suzume-san not get along?” Akari whispered.
“I don’t think so. We just don’t get to talking when I visit because I’m usually just here to see Takayuki.”
“Uh-huh
” Akari looked ahead at Suzume. “Hey, Suzume-san, what’s your opinion of Giyuu-san?”
“Huh? My thoughts?” Suzume glanced over her shoulder at Giyuu. “Well, he’s definitely one of the nicer Pillars. And
” She touched her chin. “He’s very graceful with his swordsmanship.”
Akari grinned to herself when she glanced at Giyuu’s wide-eyed surprise. He blinked, and his eyes fell to the floor. All the while, his face turned a pleasant shade of pink.
“Well whad’ya know,” giggled Akari.
Suzume led Giyuu and Akari around another corner and that’s when the group crossed paths with someone else.
A girl, around Akari’s height, with black hair that turned green at the tips and a morning glory patterned haori over her body. Her eyes, which seemed to naturally set in a glare, scanned the trio.
“Afternoon, Shizuka,” Suzume greeted. “Where’re you off to?”
“Well I was going to the nearest pharmacy to better stock the medicine room,” Shizuka started. Her eyes flicked to Giyuu. “But I see that Tomioka-sama had some injuries that should be tended to
”
“Hm?” Giyuu shifted a bit at the mention of his name. “Oh no. These are perfectly fine. I already washed them and—”
Shizuka clicked her tongue and her expression became harsher.
“And you didn’t apply any salve at all? Sometimes, water alone isn’t enough to keep a wound from infecting,” Shizuka snapped as she walked past Suzume and grabbed Giyuu’s wrist. “Apply an antiseptic at least once. A Pillar shouldn’t be taking unnecessary risks.” Despite her short stature, she started to drag the man away.
“H-hey wait a moment!” Akari called out. “Giyuu-san came here to talk to Fukushima-san!”
“I’ll be quick about it, dammit!” Shizuka hissed over her shoulder, making Akari jolt a bit.
What an intense little girl!
Giyuu turned as best he could while being pulled along and locked eyes with Akari.
“Akari-san, you can take it from here,” Giyuu said and tossed his haori to her. She awkwardly caught it. “It seems I’m not getting out of this
”
Akari let out a gasp, completely baffled.
“What on earth was that? What’s her deal?”
“Shizuka’s not as bad as she seems,” Suzume remarked with an awkward smile and laugh. “She just takes recovery really seriously.”
“So she’s like Shinobu-san?” To Akari’s question, Suzume nodded. “Her attitude is more like Shinazugawa-san though, and he
” Akari let her voice trail off. Of course Suzume would understand what she was getting at.
The women looked at each other.
“Well, uh, I guess I’ll take you to Fukushima-san.”
“Yeah, I guess there’s not much else to do.”
The rest of the walk through the manor was dead quiet. Without Giyuu there, Akari didn’t feel quite up to getting a conversation going. She didn’t feel uncomfortable around Suzume though.
Based on her view of Giyuu and the way she was able to shrug off Shizuka’s prickly personality, Akari felt that she was a good person. The mild and understanding type.
Eventually, they reached a door, a Western style one surprisingly, with an intricate design of various birds carved into the wood.
“Fukushima-san, there’s someone to see you,” Suzume called out while knocking on the door.
“Coming.”
And a moment later, a man opened the door. His hair, which fell past his shoulders, was pure white and his eyes had a silver hue. Hanging from his shoulders was a cape that looked like it was made from feathers. He was surprisingly, in a word, handsome.
And this would be the third white-haired person amongst the Pillars
Akari mused. I’d make it four once I become a Pillar.
“And you are?” Takayuki asked Akari.
She once again introduced herself. When she gave her name, Takayuki’s face tensed just the slightest bit.
“So you’re Takahashi-san. Giyuu’s made mention of you,” Takayuki remarked with a curt nod.
Akari felt herself warm up at the thought of Giyuu talking about her with someone else. Someone else who was his friend. Another man. Something about that made her heart flutter.
“Are you here on an errand for Giyuu?”
“Uh
” Akari tilted her head side-to-side for a moment. “Well, kinda? Giyuu-san is here too, but
your other student, Shizuka? She took him away to tend to some minor cuts.”
Suzume let out a sound that was between an exhale and a laugh at Akari’s recounting.
“That girl
” Takayuki hummed and shook his head. “She’s not my student. She’s just settling here for the time being.”
“Ah. So like the patients at the Butterfly Mansion. Makes sense.”
“So
” Takayuki’s eyes flicked downward and landed on the bundle that was Giyuu’s haori. “Clothing repairs.”
“Yes, exactly!” Akari exclaimed back.
“Right then.” Takayuki turned to Suzume. “I can take it from here. Go back to relaxing. Who knows when you’ll get a mission summons.”
“Alrighty then!” Suzume waved and jogged off.

..
Akari stared in awe at the room that Takayuki had led her to. Bolts of fabric were set up on racks. There was a mannequin wearing what looked like the beginning stages of a kimono. A sewing kit was laid out on the table at the center of the room.
“Oh wow! You’re really serious about sewing!” Akari exclaimed. She was still hesitant to be around Takayuki but knowing they had a shared hobby warmed her heart. And now she wished that Giyuu had introduced them sooner.
“For me, sewing is
” Takayuki hesitated. For the briefest of moments, he looked melancholy, only for him to tilt his chin up and resumed a nonchalant expression. “It kills time between missions or while I’m in the midst of recovery,” he said, his tone cool and somewhat dismissive. “So Giyuu’s haori got ruined, huh?”
“Pretty much
”
Akari unfurled the remains of the haori, showing off what a mess it was.
“I’m not sure how it can be fixed
”
“Not to worry.”
Takayuki opened a drawer in the corner dresser and brought out two bundles of fabric which perfectly matched the patterns of Giyuu’s haori.
“Wha—? When—?” Akari’s mouth flapped open and closed. Talk about being prepared!
Takayuki shrugged.
“I pay a textile shop to make more material, in case something like this happens. And this isn’t the first time.”
The explanation was spoken in a matter-of-fact tone. And yet, Akari looked in Takayuki’s eyes and saw a softness in them. Rather than reflecting like a cold, harsh metal, his eyes shined like soft moonlight at the moment. The fact that he even had the fabric made at all spoke more of the bond that the two men must’ve shared.
The fabrics were passed from Takayuki to Akari. She caressed the fabric, held the sentiment that it represented.
“Fukushima-san
Did you want to repair Giyuu-san’s haori instead?”
A light chuckle left the man.
“While I’m used to Giyuu asking me to take care of repairs, I’m not bitter to see someone else take over instead.” Takayuki patted Akari’s shoulder. “And if Giyuu’s words are anything to go by, you’re just as, if not more skilled than myself. After all, I’m not involved in uniform production in the Corps.”
“Oh! I’m glad that Giyuu-san speaks highly of me!” Akari replied with a soft giggle. “And uh, thank you for providing the fabric. Giyuu-san must mean a lot to you.”
“He must mean a lot to you too, if you went out of your way to follow him on this chore.”
“Ah
 Yes, that’s true
”
Akari smiled at Takayuki. His lips quirked into a faint grin.
Their white hair. Their skills with a needle. And their fondness for Giyuu. There was little that Akari and Takayuki shared but it was the little things that made way for the beginning of understanding.

..
Giyuu and Akari left the Eagle Manor, walking side-by-side. It was quiet for a while until Giyuu pulled a small, paper-wrapped item from his pocket.
“What’s that?” Akari asked, glancing at the parcel.
“Something from Shizuka. She said it would help on missions,” he answered vaguely.
Akarai raised a brow. “Did she not say what it was?”
“No.” Giyuu glanced at Akari then returned his attention to the item. “I doubt it’s anything dangerous.”
Very true. It was unlikely that a lower ranked slayer would give anything that would sabotage a Pillar. Besides, if Shizuka was so aggressive about healing (which Akari didn’t quite get), then it didn’t make sense for her to give something harmful to someone.
Unprompted, Giyuu ripped the paper. Underneath was a block of a beige substance. Giyuu rubbed the surface with his thumb.
“Soap?” he whispered, having recognized the feel. “How would that help?”
After staring at the strange gift for a moment, Akari noticed a faint aroma. She leaned in and gave a sniff.
“Wisteria?”
It was unlikely that the soap would be as effective as wisteria incense. Still, Akari could imagine that the presence of the flower in the soap might make slayers smell a bit less appetizing to the demons they fought.
“Why didn’t she just say what it was?” Akari asked no one in particular. “That way we could’ve thanked her at least
”
“You can always give your gratitude the next time you see her.”
“If there is a next time.”
It was a melancholy thought but given their line of work
Of course it would cross Akari’s mind.
There was no telling if Akari would cross paths Shizuka, Takayuki, or Suzume ever again

wardrobe for the oc ask thing!
Hello there, Unni! Thanks for the ask~!
Since you didn't specify an oc (and let's be real you don't want to go digging through my blog for them/lh), I'll just answer for Shizuka because I need to talk about my KnY baby girl...
.....
Wardrobe: How big is your character's wardrobe? Do they wear things threadbare, or can they afford new clothes often? Are they any good at mending and repairing their own clothing?
Shizuka's wardrobe, during the events of Demon Slayer is pretty limited. She mainly wears her mother's haori and her Corps uniform. She does wear a kosode and hakama set that she wears when not on missions. Only after demons are eradicated and she retires does she get a larger wardrobe (partially thanks Takayuki, my friend Steph's oc). She'd had enough articles/outfit sets to last her more than a week before she needs to do laundry but Shizuka is diligent enough not to wait until the last minute to do cleaning.
She tends to wear things threadbare because she doesn't really use her salary on herself (she prefers to send it to her family until... it's not longer an option, let's say). But when she has to buy new clothes, she indulges a little to buy things that will last her a good, long while.
Shizuka is decently good at mending clothes. She can sew but she's better at it with skin than fabric (she's a medic! She sutures wounds!) to be honest. She gets better with time since she and Inosuke are the type to tear their clothes a lot.

So is ur OC man or women??
What is they age??
What breathing techniques are they using??
THE NAME PLEASE 😭
By the way do you have the pictures of them??
Oh boy! Here goes nothing!
My (main) KnY oc is Shizuka Hisasue. And here's some art of her!
Tumblr media
(By @cringeyvanillamilk.)
Tumblr media
(Commission from @lightofthedeep.)
Shizuka is a young girl aged 15. (She is like a daughter to me. A daughter whom I launch towards danger and angst.)
Shizuka's Breath Style is one she created herself. It's called Breath of Smoke. It mainly branches off of Breath of the Wind with some elements of Breath of Flames. I had actually originally thought of calling her Breath Style "Breath of Incense" because she works with incense but "smoke" sounded a lot cooler. Still, all of her techniques are named after aromas that are common in incense like cypress, pine, and sandalwood.
She's a spitfire of a girl. Tough and passionate but also eager to help others. Like any good oc, she's got some emotional hang ups but will have friends to help her through it. Her best friend is Suzume (an oc belonging to Steph) and though they're different, they support one another.
I initially created Shizuka to be paired off with Inosuke because Inosuke is my favorite son from the series and like an overbearing mother, I must see my son find love. (And this was before Inosuke x Aoi became a thing.) But I ended up developing a much... weirder storyline for her to be tangled up in? Another story for another time.

Shizuka Hisasue (Demon Slayer OC)
Tumblr media
My main oc for Demon Slayer. Although I don’t post about her often, she is one of my favorite ocs.
(Art by @cringeyvanillamilk.)
General Information -Name: äč…末 静驙 (Hisasue Shizuka) —äč…: a long period of time —末: the last or the end —静: calm, quiet, or silence —驙: scent or aroma -Age: 15 -Height: 152 cm (~5â€Č0″). -Birthday: July 31 -Hair Color: Black to dark green -Hair Style: Reaches her shoulder blades and is left loose -Eye Color: Indigo -Skin Tone: Light tan -Physical Build: Lean muscle
Backstory and more under the cut.
Backstory -Comes from a lower middle class family. Lived in a rural town. -8 person family. Youngest of 6. Takehiro (father), Kaori (mother), Sumihiko (eldest brother), Kaoru (eldest sister), Takashi and Takeshi (twin brothers), and Keiko (sister). -Kaori made incense, soaps, and herbal medicines. She gets ingredients from foraging in the woods and maintaining a garden. -Takehiro ran a general goods store which sold products made by everyone in town, including Kaori’s. -Shizuka and her siblings helped with their parents work. She often was sent out to forage for ingredients thanks to her sharp nose. -Shizuka’s siblings frequently coddled her and did chores for her, despite her wanting to work. -Growing up, Shizuka heard shorties about demons and demon slayers from her mother. -Kaori taught the children what she called "the right way to breathe." This breathing technique was difficult/painful to learn but it made all of them stronger. -From her mother, Shizuka learned the importance of acting selflessly. Shizuka took her mother's lessons to heart. - Shizuka was out foraging one night when she stumbled upon a demon. Before the demon could kill her, she was saved by what she believe to be a divine boar spirit. She passed out due to losing blood from a wound and her exhaustion -She woke up at home, believing the incident was a dream but also a calling. -Shizuka was determined to become a demon slayer to protect her family and help others. -Her siblings were against it but Kaori, who was sick and weak at the time, supported her choice. -Shizuka found her way to the demon slayer cultivator Kenta Yangidate, who taught her how to make her own Breath Style. -Early into her training, Kyoujurou Rengoku happened to be passing through the town Kenta lived in. -Kyoujurou met Shizuka and took her under his wing for a short while. In that time, Shizuka got some of the inspiration needed to create her Breath Style. -While Shizuka was away training, Kaori worked extra hard to make up for Shizuka's absence and basically worked herself to death. -Shizuka came to believe that becoming a demon slayer was a selfish choice that killed her mom. Thus, she is determined to save as many people as possible to redeem herself.
Personality -Shizuka has a rough and fiery personality. -She gets annoyed very easily and lashes out with little thought of who it's towards. -Stubborn in her convictions and holds firm to them until the very end. -She’s a determined individual, wanting to always put her all in whatever she does. It can be anything from fighting a demon to doing laundry. -To her, slacking off is the same as giving up or failing. -While not particularly prideful, Shizuka doesn’t like being underestimated. -She’s quite blunt, not liking the idea of lying so she doesn’t do it. -Shizuka sees lying as a a selfish act, as it's essentially someone forcing another person to believe what they want to be true, instead of actually sharing the truth. -However, Shizuka doesn't always want to give away everything that's on her mind. Rather than lie, though, she’ll just avoid giving a proper answer. -While normally upfront, she does know how to be subtle if the situation calls for it. -As much as she doesn’t admit it - or doesn’t believe it - she’s a kind person. -She prioritizes the safety, comfort, and general well-being of others before her own. -Selfless is something that Shizuka strives to be. She will help others whether or not they ask because that’s what she feels is right. -Her selflessness leads to her training relentlessly and taking care of others to the point of neglecting her own well-being. -Being coddled by her siblings made her worry she was weak so she works as hard as she does to stop being a burden and instead be of use to others. -Dislikes voicing her own emotions and desires, viewing it as selfishness on her part.
Trivia -Shizuka’s haori was once her mother’s, given to her when she left home to become a demon slayer. -Shizuka learned how to make incense, soap, and medicine from Kaori. -Shizuka’s got a strong sense of smell, being able to track scents across a far distance and evaluate someone’s health (sickness, broken bones, etc) by the changes in their smell. -Shizuka’s Breath Style is called Breath of Smoke. It’s derived from Breath of Wind and Breath of Flames. -In Tanjirou’s words, Shizuka “likes Inosuke in a special way.” -Shizuka is close friends with Suzume Hayashi (Steph's oc).

My ocs: I am severely depressed but if anyone were to know about it, I'd crumple up and die of shame. Time to undergo a downward mental spiral and hope no one notices.
All the other ocs and ccs: *definitely notice and become concerned*

I don’t give my other fandom ocs enough love most of the time so I recently did show one love!
Shizuka Hisasue! Wielding her nichirin blades against the enemy. Her katana was made for her once she became a demon slayer. The tanto was crafted from one of the broken pieces of Kyoujurou’s nichirin blade after the Infinity Train incident.
I got this lovely commission from @lightofthedeep! Light was an absolute delight to work with. She kept me a part of the creation process the whole time with questions and a few updates that I asked for when making my initial request. She really did my oc justice! Thank you so much for your time and work, Light!
I love the little gleam at the tip of the tanto. I love the bright, warm color of that blade standing in contrast to the cool, darker colors that make up the rest of Shizuka's design. The soft flow of her haori and her hair contrasted against the sharpness of her eyes and the jagged design of her katana. Her expression, full of determination and strength but also the slightest hint of fear. Everything comes together so beautifully!
Please look at my daughter and appreciate her. And go check out Light's blog and other art!

Happy Birthday, Kyoujurou!
Summary: Kyoujurou gets a chance to celebrate his birthday. Sort of...
Genre: general
Word count: ~1800
A/N: I did post this in the past but the original post got deleted somehow so I'm reposting it.
..........
Kyoujurou smiled contently.
Senjurou put his all into his sword swings. Maybe a little too much actually. When the wooden, practice sword was in a lowered position, Kyoujurou approached from behind and put his hands on his brother’s shoulders.
“Relax. Don’t be so tense or you might hurt yourself,” he corrected.
“A-ah! Right!”
Knk, knk, knk.
“That should be the others. I’ll be right back,” Kyoujurou told Senjurou while ruffling the boy’s hair. He went to the wall surrounding the house and hopped onto it to see who was at the front gate. A smile came to his face at the sight of who was there. Giyuu, Mitsuri, Takayuki, Tanjirou, and Shizuka had arrived, each with a package in hand.
“Good morning everyone!” he called to them.
Everyone’s head turned and they all smiled or laughed.
“Big bro Rengoku! Good morning!” Tanjirou waved up at Kyoujurou.
“We’re finally here~!” Mitsuri exclaimed, her whole body radiating barely restrained energy.
Giyuu remained silent but the smile on his face was kind and full of affection.
“Couldn’t you have answered like a normal person?” Takayuki asked, his tone softer than it would be in a professional setting.
Shizuka nudged Takayuki with her elbow. On her face was an impish smirk. “Big brother Kyou isn’t boring like that.”
“We still need to be let in, though,” Giyuu pointed out.
While everyone was laughing, Kyoujurou jumped down and unlocked the gate. Tanjirou dashed up and got the first hug. Kyoujurou returned the gesture and messed with the boy’s hair too. Shizuka threw herself into Kyoujurou’s arms and after they let each other go, he pinched her cheek playfully. When Mitsuri and Kyoujurou held each other they both took a turn lifting and spinning the other around. Next, Takayuki stepped forward and the men threw their arms around each other in a tight, intimate embrace; Kyoujurou felt a hand comb through his hair before they parted. Kyoujurou had to yank Giyuu into a hug since the dark-haired man was too shy to initiate but once they were in one another’s arms, Giyuu buried his face in the blond’s shoulder. Once greetings were finished, Kyoujurou gestured to the front door.
“Come on in, everyone.”
Kyoujurou led the group through the house, although his fellow Pillars didn’t need the guidance. They soon came to the dining room where a lunch fest was already prepared. Senjurou and Shinjurou were already at the table. Once everyone was seated, they dug into the meal.
“What were the latest missions like?” Mitsuri asked her fellow Pillars and juniors.
“I ended up getting hypnotized by a vampire,” Tanjirou answered with a sigh.
“I think they’re becoming more aggressive since we learned their weakness,” commented Takayuki. “They’d rather hunt than be hunted.”
“At least their neck are softer than demons,” Giyuu said after swallowing a mouthful.
“Demons feel like they’ve been getting easier after dealing with Lower Moon One.”
“That’s a good sign,” the Pillars said in unison, with even Shinjurou joining in.
“Have you ever had one try to take a bite out of you while you were up close to attack?” Kyoujurou asked.
“Twice in one night actually!” Shizuka yelled, slamming a hand on the table as she did.
“Sanemi’s got a record number,” Takayuki said. “A three hundred and forty-seven instances if I recall correctly.”
“Who keeps track of this stuff?” Senjurou wondered aloud as he picked at fish bones.
“We have a record book dating back to the Sengoku Era actually,” Mitsuri pointed out.
The youths’ mouths dropped open and their eyes bugged out. The adults burst out into laughter. Shinjurou reached over and ruffled his son’s hair. Mitsuri, from her position between Tanjirou and Shizuka, patted their shoulders.
When the meal concluded, the presents were handed over to the man of the day. Shizuka’s gift was a bundle of incense sticks, handmade with “aromas that burn with a similar strength to big brother Kyou’s” in her words. The gift from Tanjirou was a bag of coffee beans—"I wasn’t sure what to get you but I heard coffee is energizing and thought it would suit you,“ he bashfully explained—and Kyoujurou was eager to try. Mitsuri and Takayuki’s gifts were synchronized: a hand-sewn scarf paired and a thick, winter coat with matching colors and patterns. Although the two weren’t the closest amongst the Pillars, they could easily come together for a mission or a small gesture as this. Lastly was Giyuu’s present which was a bracelet of lacquered, wooden beads whose reddish hue reminded Kyoujurou of his own eyes.
"I know you don’t really wear jewelry,” Giyuu muttered, “but something in me wouldn’t let me just walk away from it.”
Kyoujurou slipped the bracelet on his wrist then smiled at Giyuu.
“It’s perfect.”
“Alright, enough with the sentimentality,” Shinjurou groaned. He rose to his feet. “Time to clean up this shit.”
“You are in no position to be acting like the responsible adult here, drunkard,” Takayuki said under his breath.
Shinjurou’s face twitched in annoyance. However, he was outnumbered in the situation as everyone else at the table held back snickers. He sighed and bowed his head in resignation.
Kyoujurou let out a hearty laugh. He had nothing to fear that day. Everything would be perfect.

..
Kyoujurou sat on the engawa facing the mansion’s yard. A meter away sat Shinjurou, drinking sake slowly and in modest amounts. Everyone else stood in the yard. Tanjirou had a hand on Senjurou’s shoulder and spoke words unheard while the shorter boy blushed bright red. Shizuka, too, was bright red as she listened to Mitsuri whisper in her ear. Giyuu and Takayuki stood shoulder-to-shoulder, smiling and laughing.
The smiling faces of his loved ones. The youths he took under his wing because they had no other family to turn whether by circumstance or choice. His dearly beloved friends. It was a picture perfect, idealistic scene.
Yes, this what I’d love to see more than anything else, Kyoujurou thought with a fond smile on his face. Perhaps next time, the other Pillars can join. Suzume too. Perhaps the boar boy and the yellow one. If I want to invite young Kamado’s sister, we should meet at night.
Kyoujurou sighed, feeling relaxed and content.
“Do you really think you can escape reality with this pitiful display?” inquired a raspy, bitter voice.
The sunny sky clouded over, bringing a tinge of grey to the environment. A black form entered Kyoujurou’s periphery. Two crimson lights stood out from the living shadow, the hateful eyes of the Eldritch Maiden.
Kyoujurou didn’t turn to face the speaker, keeping his eyes on the others. On everyone’s smiling faces, unaffected by the sudden gloom. He dared a glance in Shinjurou’s direction; the man was unaware of the shadow. With that in mind, Kyoujurou addressed the figure.
“You claim I am the one trying to run from the truth but you are to blame for the fact that I cannot do anything more than dream now,” he stated firmly.
“Are you not at all afraid of what is happening to them while you are powerless to help?” the shadow hissed while looming over Kyoujurou. “Do you not wish you could be out there fighting too? Why don’t you imagine the horrors they could be facing?”
Tendrils of darkness reached for Kyoujurou’s body but didn’t touch him. Kyoujurou didn’t flinch, didn’t meet the her eyes.
“I have faith in my allies. I know my fellow Pillars are capable and will fight harder in my name,” Kyoujurou answered, eyes locked on Giyuu, Takayuki, and Mitsuri as they stood in a small huddle. “And the younger slayers have incredible potential.” Tanjirou had an arm around Shizuka and Senjurou’s shoulders. “Perhaps they wish I was with them—I wish for that very thing—but they can make do without me.”
“You fool!” The darkness grew larger, looming over Kyoujurou but still unwilling, or perhaps unable, to reach him. “Detest your miserable state! Give in to despair! Let nightmares take over!”
Kyoujurou finally turned his head and looked the shadow in the eyes. He rose to his feet, standing tall. In response, the shadow shrank back and wilted in size.
“I do not have to listen to your words. Although I may be in the thralls of your curse, my spirit shall not bend to your will,” he said, his voice booming. The shadow wavered under Kyoujurou’s gaze. “I endured one of your spells and I can endure this one as well.”
The specter began to fade but it didn’t got without any parting words, “I shall break you, Kyoujurou Rengoku. I shall snuff your light. If I never had it, neither should anyone else
”
When the shadow faded, the scenery seemed to regain its light. Kyoujurou closed his eyes, took a few deep breaths. Opening his eyes, he caught sight of his loved ones smiling in his direction.
“Kyou, get over here!” Takayuki called.
“We’re gonna do an arm wrestling contest!” Mitsuri added. “Shizuka wants to see me flip you boys over the table!”
“Hey! That was one time!” laughed Kyoujurou. “Let me grab a table!” He stepped inside, glad to have a moment to himself. So long as this is my dream, none of my loved ones will suffer. He fought the urge to cry. Even in a dream, he didn’t want to cause any unneeded worry. I’m sorry that I cannot truly be with everyone at the moment but that is not up to me.
While he was trapped in his own mind and body, Kyoujurou refused to let his spirits be dampened. He would hold out hope, no matter how long it took.

..
Kyoujurou laid in a hospital bed, his chest rising and falling from slow, even breaths. To an unknowing observer, he would’ve appeared to be enjoying a normal sleep. In truth, his one good eye had not opened in months. His hair had grown longer and more unruly during his coma.
Senjurou, Tanjirou, and Shizuka sat at Kyoujurou’s bedside. Tears filled their eyes but they did their best to smile despite the man being unable to see them.
“You should see how everyone is now, brother,” Senjurou whispered while holding one of Kyoujurou’s hands. “Father is acting as temporary Flame Pillar until you wake up! He still drinks
But I think that’s because he misses you.”
“We worked with Uzui-san to defeat Upper Moon Six!” Tanjirou exclaimed before breaking into tears. “And he lived too! You guys will see each other again soon!”
Shizuka wrapped an arm around Tanjirou’s shoulders to comfort him. Then, she spoke.
“We’re getting stronger everyday, Rengo— big brother Kyoujurou,” she said quietly. “I can’t wait for you to see how far we’ve all come. And I hope, once you’re awake, you can train us in earnest like you wanted to.”
Outside Kyoujurou’s private room, Giyuu, Takayuki, and Mitsuri stood together. Fire burned in their eyes. There was an unspoken vow between them.
There would come a dawn where he would wake again.

I draw a fanart of one of @loosesodamarble ‘s OC Shizuka. This is based on that lovely fic she wrote with my oc Akari in it, and I love Akari and Shizuka’s first meeting a lot, with how they clashed a bit and how Akari compares her to being like Shinobu or Sanemi. I felt inspired to doodle it. 💕 Shizuka was really fun to draw, I hope you like it Soda! đŸ«¶đŸŒ
