#icemav#top gun edit#ice is a FASCINATING one to watch post-hop 31 imo because while yes‚ obviously‚ the focus is on maverick and his grief and devastation#ice is there the whole time in the background‚ watching. and he's visibly disturbed by what he's seeing. because yeah -#he and mav had a rivalry going and yeah he called maverick dangerous and reckless to his face and he stands by that - he does.#but the problem is that this time - this one fluke freak accident of a time - it wasn't maverick's fault at all.#an unrecoverable flat spin brought on by a compressor stall from ice's jetwash isn't something that maverick could've outflown#by sticking to textbook maneuvers. it was just shit luck and shitty circumstances aligning to create a tragic mishap.#but now - now ice can see the way maverick is unraveling in the aftermath#and i'd bet that on some level it terrifies him to see that.#he's used to seeing maverick with all that brash cocky confidence with the moves to back it up.#he's maybe even had a bit of fun jockeying against that. not that he'd admit that out loud. (yet)#but maverick's spiraling now - a hollowed out shell of his former self - leaking grief and self-doubt and despair everywhere he goes#and it actually hurts to look at for ice‚ seeing maverick like this. seeing how much maverick really REALLY fucking cared under that facade#and wondering if maverick is finally taking the stuff ice said to him to heart‚ but applying it all wrong.#so he watches maverick and eventually that concern builds to a point where he tries to offer an olive branch in the locker room#you can SEE how carefully he gathers himself - how much he's holding back - he doesn't want to say the wrong thing to maverick NOW#he doesn't want to make this worse than it already is. so it comes out stilted. it's earnest - but restrained. he can't find his footing.#he doesn't know where he and maverick stand now but he's sorry - that goose is gone‚ that maverick's going through this‚#that he doesn't know how to help or what to say‚ and - crucially - for his own part in this.#but he wants mav to stick around and push through this. even though he's dangerous. even though he's reckless. ice wants him to beat this.#so when maverick shows up to graduation‚ ice is encouraged. and he's a little warmer. maverick really might pull through.#but then‚ all too soon‚ it's ice's life on the line in maverick's hands. and it scares the shit out of him because maverick's not ready#and now ice - and slider - are going to have to pay the price for that.#and then‚ against all odds‚ maverick pushes through. he comes back for them. he comes back for ice.#and after that...well.#after that‚ ice does know what to say: a vow.#my amvs#linds original

time for your daily ro timeline sketch update because this is a huge project and i thrive off of attention
calling special attention to how her appearance changes over all three games bc i really like this and i'm so happy to finally have examples to put side by side <3
#this has been living in my brain forever. there is so much about her that just lives in my brain#i'm so happy to show this LOL#expressions must stay neutral but i do little things like move the eyebrows or corners of the mouth slightly#and then there's hollowing out the cheeks a bit more. when i shade this you'll see how her cheekbones get more pronounced#her shitty haircut growing out and becoming slightly less messy to show that she's more put together#but still fundamentally changed by the lazarus project#i also decided to change the origin of the face scars from a husk attack to a marauder attack#i feel like that makes more sense with the fact that it's two lines across her face LOL#also how sharp can husk nails get anyway. they're not claws#so she picks up those scars in the third game instead of the second as originally planned#ok rant over i just really want to talk about her lately lol

bugevolent but hollow knight, in that jarthur come from outside hallownest in some form. whether that's due to isekai shenanigans or arthur being just a regular bug from another land is up to you.
HOWEVER. at some point arthur gets infected by the radiance and they both have to fight her for control, even as she does her best to psychologically manipulate them in the process.
I don't know enough about hollow knight to comment but this sounds cool

The Blight family are so interesting IN THEORY. In execution they are....😬
#i dont mean that like. theyre flawed characters#i LOVE flawed characters. nothing i love more than seeing some messy toxic bitches do messy toxic bitch things#i love the exploration of unhealthy family dynamics#i love the trope of a rich shiny perfect family who are secretly fucked up and miserable#i love the kind of characters that environment creates#whether it be gaslighting gatekeeping girlbossing assholes#or people who are desperately trying to be good. or to break away from the role theyve been forced into#or people who are in a little more of a grey area. people who have a good side and a shitty side#its all fun and interesting#the problem with the blights is their characterization is just so....clunky. sloppy. not very good#alador amity and the twins all suffer from inconsistent writing#alador is a complex case to delve into. and you dont wanna listen to me dissecting him#so ill just say that he could have been handled better#ironically Odalia is the most consistently written character of them all#shes very surface level evil. shes not very interesting#I enjoy Odalia. I think she's funny in just how unapologetically shitty she is#and her VA gives such an entertaining performance#but she is like. Hollow.
