I do love how Byakuyas arc is shown though the whole series, ngl it's one of the best things about Danganronpa is how you see the tiny ways he kinda softens(best word I can think of atm) while still being a bit of an ass

Right? I'm very welcome to the concept of characters that are assholes at the start of game, and are still assholes by the end of it; but now they're capable of actually showing that they care. His development is subtle and it's worth seeing in a playthrough or analysis the tiny changes and shifts in his dialogue and presentation, and more importantly; I'm glad the core of his character wasn't changed and that he remained the dickhead that we know him for when he first got introduced.

I get why some people would detest the guy all throughout, because he does and says some repulsive stuff and I'd never want to meet a guy like him in real life.

But he's a character. And a very entertaining and enjoyable one to me at that. With all the horrible things he's said and done - I like him for who he is and think that the amount of delight I get from seeing him torch his own classmates with his snarky comments or memes of his character outweighs the shitty things that he is and did.

People can have their own takes on how much value how 'good' a character's writing can be to how much they would like them, but trust me, take a step back every now and then, you'll realize that there's a bunch of your favorite characters aren't even complex or literature masterpieces, they're just fun to fucking watch. And while I think Byakuya's writing is better than people give it credit for - he's essentially that to me. Fun to watch. And that's enough for me.

Source is Danganronpa, warning for #sdr2 spoilers It always upsets me to see the way that fandom treats so many of my friends. And honestly, the dr3 anime is just as bad in some ways. Like, these are PEOPLE, you know? People who have been through terrible things, done terrible things, but who have complexity and so much going on and so many good qualities that make them so special and they're all incredibly important to me. But then I see people just treat Hanamura and Tsumiki (and sometimes Souda) as sexual jokes, and Imposter as a fat joke, and Nidai as a poop joke, and it makes me want to throw things. And so many people treat any or all of the girls as sexual objects (even including the DR team themselves at times!!! What the fuck is with the fanservice shit!!!) and it makes me so uncomfortable but also so angry on their behalf. And of course Komaeda gets treated in a way that's not really able to be summarized. Most people who actually know the series respect his complexity, at least, but he's "breached containment" that loads of people who don't even know what his situation is are always meme-ing him. I just always worry that my friends are seeing these things and being hurt by them. It's even worse when people make jokes at the expense of people who kin them. Komaeda and Tsumiki were on a jokey "shitty kinlist generator" thing recently and that pissed me off really badly. Like, have they not suffered enough? Is their self-worth not adequately terrible? When will people be done hurting them? So anyway, just wanted to say, to any and all of my friends: If you're ever made into a joke, flattened and misinterpreted, or objectified, PLEASE remember that I don't see you that way, and neither do the rest of us. Predictions for 2024

• Eating soap will be a tiktok challenge (don’t eat soap.)

• Some game will be announced, come out and then suck

• Some massive YouTuber will be exposed.

• Fuck it, uhhh, someone massive will quit YouTuber. Male. Just throwing that out for bonus.

• We’ll have another Goncharov type of meme.

• An old movie will get a reboot or perhaps a new book.

• Just kidding no one reads books.

• A library will get destroyed, and the internet will band together to heroically restore it.

• A country will go to war with another country.

• A new country will exist either then or in 2025. Just one. Maybe two.

• Danganronpa will have a shitty new mobile game.

• A new indie artist will absolutely blow up and take the scene by storm. Probably female.

• Deltarune CH4 will release, maybe. Doesn’t it actually have a release date? Lol I’m not gonna look it up.

• MLP g5 will be cancelled, bronies everywhere won’t care.

• The Beatles will release a new album, somehow.

• JKR will say something ignorant.

• The internet will go down for 2 days and people will lose it.

• a spanish and Swedish person will meet and fall in love. I mean, this is probably gonna happen considering there’s 7 billion people, but they’ll be famous.

• A new smart toilet will be invented.

• Tumblr will remove the tags system and replace it with word search only.

• “Maps” by Maroon 5 will be a meme. I have no reason for predicting this, but every year an old song becomes a meme, so I’m predicting this one. Wasn’t it Demons last year?
