lucerys: *jumping off arrax as soon as he lands, hair soaked and face red with rage* what do you think you’re doing!?
aemond: *confused* what do you mean? i’m making my intentions clear? i’m courting you…?
lucerys:
aemond:
lucerys: by chasing after me with your big ass war dragon in the middle of the storm, screaming like a lunatic and almost killing me and arrax in the process???
aemond: …so, you don’t think that’s a good way to break the ice?
lucerys: do you!?

Baby Trap... by Aemond Targaryen
I remembered a headcanon I have from Lucemond.
So, for no one in the fandom it is strange to think or consider possible that the Targaryens have a breeding fetish.
But, for some reason, I've seen several posts on Aemond having this fetish. How did they get there? I don't know, but he gave me sooo many ideas.
Which brings me to the next thing, I'm pretty sure Aemond would fuck with Lucerys' contraceptive methods to get him pregnant, thus trapping him with his baby.
so... there it goes. --------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Aemond, no matter what universe it is in, whether or not Lucerys can be left with a baby inside her... he would look for the ultimate way to trap Lucerys with him permanently.
Of course, Aemond knows that he will become a careful father and will not look after anything other than his family, he really wants to be a father. Only that he takes advantage of his wish to use it as a kind of secret letter to keep Lucerys by his side.
So, he barely has the opportunity, he's going to take it. Believe me when I tell you that he will do everything possible.
Within historical canon time, should they be able to have a baby of their own: Aemond will make sure Moon tea is modified, changed, or simply make Lucerys forget to drink it. Or he'll make sure Lucerys never properly learns about how babies are made, so he can manipulate his concept until the time comes when pregnancy is safe and there’s not rick at all.
At the time, I feel like Lucerys may know that babies come when both adults come together, but he doesn't know everything in fine detail.
In some Alternative Universe within the same situation of the possibility of having a baby of their own, especially the modern one: Aemodn will make its pills just placebos and change them for prenatals, condoms will always have holes or are already spoiled, and it will pretend that they broke on the spot , he will give his boyfriend hormone pills inside his drinks or inside his food to make sure everything is ready. Aemond will keep track of his fertile dates, and all.
In the modern setting it's the only scenario where Aemond can't keep Lucerys fooled about the process of making babies, as it's a relatively more educated environment and I doubt Lucerys doesn't learn abput it outside his home; like the school.
Sure, all dark, of course. We are talking at the end  about how Aemond wants to make sure Lucerys can't leave him.
But only if Lucerys stays innocent about it.
What would happen if it was Lucerys not so? If our sweet boy actually, he thinks very similar to Aemond, but he didn't really take any active initiative about it.
Aemond does not realize that his boyfriend is always available on his most fertile days. He doesn't notice when his boyfriend avoids her leaving his bed or leaving it unfilled at all costs. Lucerys never peep about it, he do not mind at all.
He doesn't notice how his boyfriend takes half of the moon tea and throws the rest next to a pot inside the room. After all, boys cannot have babies, isn’t it? or simply the risk of having a baby is too low.
He doesn't notice how his boyfriend, his sweet boy, always lies in positions that facilitate the process of having a baby. Is just so¿uch a confy position.
As his little boyfriend never buys the condoms, even though Aemond always uses the broken ones every time or doesn't notice that he always asks him to use the old one found in Aemond's wallet. Those help in any way, right?
He never notices, doesn't notice when Lucerys always takes hormone pills "to stay on a regular cycle" that Aemond buy for him. Just do not tell Aemond that he might forget some of them.

i love unrequited love, i love blind devotion, i love guard dogs. i love being desperately obsessed with the object of your affections. i love when devotion rots into cruelty, i love when love doesn't know any better, i love when love is ugly. i love defanging and declawing yourself just to be loved. i love when a character will wait for the next time they will be loved like a bird or a dog at their beloved’s door. i love when love is insanity and by the LORD do i love betting on losing dogs

aegon favors lucerys over his own siblings and jacaerys. may it be because lucerys is actually almost a decade younger than him and aegon can treat him like a toy, as if the younger boy is nothing but a plaything for whenever he isn’t busy nursing cups of chasing skirts. whatever it might be, aegon always has little magic tricks prepared to sweep little lucerys’ mind off, and he would be the first (if not the only one) to be greeted when they all meet for training.
helaena favors him, too. lucerys is a force to be reckoned with, with energy similar to the one of a storm. still, he’s the most patient with helaena, surprisingly. not only that, but he also understands her, truly understands her. he’s the only one who can keep up with helaena’s inscrutable words, and he would never oppose his sweet aunt when she asks for a dance (or the idea she has of one), or when she needs help hunting for certain species of insects until the sun sets in the horizon.
of course jacaerys does, too. lucerys is his little brother, the first to be born after him. the kind of bond they share is yet to be matched by any set of members amongst their family. lucerys is jacaerys’ partner in crime, his other half, the heart of his thoughts and the brains behind his feelings. he would die for lucerys, and he would do it without hesitation.
even daeron seems to seek lucerys more than he seeks the rest of them, for the letters that he sends to the second son of rhaenyra are always heftier in number and length than the ones he sends to his siblings. to his own mother.
and then, there’s aemond. he doesn’t say it (he doesn’t need to, much to his own chagrin), but it’s clear as the summer skies that he prefers lucerys too. he basks in lucerys’ admiration and needs his attention like a sunflower yearns for the sun to feed it. he always answers any and all questions that lucerys’ inquisitive mind might come up with, and if he works harder both in the training yard and with the maesters looking for that very specific impressed look in lucerys’ eyes, well, that’s his business and his alone.
and when lucerys follows aemond around, desperately asking for his love and his time (blessedly unaware of how much aemond would actually give him), they all start speaking. soft mumbling here and there between servants that think are being subtle enough, and obvious jesting from the family members who don’t need to be coy.
“aemond is lucerys’ favorite”
lucerys doesn’t care about no magic trick if aemond is there to talk about a new fable he learned in his lessons that day. lucerys doesn’t have time to chase bugs and dance in the sunlight if aemond says he’s going to help him with his sword training. and he has no time to admire jacaerys when aemond bests them all, even with the lack of a dragon, with such an ease (well practised, but lucerys doesn’t need to know that) that leaves little lucerys breathless.
for they are all right, and the satisfaction of the matter settles in aemond’s guts like a warm blanket. for he is, indeed, lucerys’ favorite. he’s the favorite’s favorite, and nobody can take that from him.

not everything is as it seems.
when talks of aemond’s upcoming marriage to his nephew circulated, everyone seemed to pity lucerys; after all, it was a known fact that the young brunette was the one who maimed the feared don.
the boss’ subordinates have conjured up a myriad of scenarios of what the silver-haired man would do to his husband, ranging from him locking up the young man in his own cell, to taking lucy’s eyes out, doubling what his nephew did to him.
it doesn’t help that during their wedding, while lucerys was all bright eyes and big smiles, aemond was still as stoic as ever, his face as still as a statue (except for an almost imperceptible twitch of the corner of his lips when lucy says his vows). even more so when the brunette was not seen for a couple of weeks after their matrimony.
all rumors are squashed however when an obviously pregnant lucerys abruptly appears during one of their more important gatherings, and plops down into the don’s lap and pouts. “i’m hungry. your baby and i are hungry.” their boss just sighs and commands everyone to leave the room at once.
as they all go in a single file, the last henchman to leave hears his boss ask softly, “so what do you and our little blip want this time?”

Aemond never understood his father... until he became a father himself.
Of course he loves his eldest son Maegor and always teach him something new, of course he braids his daughter Daenys' pigtails, of course he plays hide and seek with his other son Daeron.... but Visenya?
His knees tremble when Visenya enters the scene.
All his older children look like him or have traits of his other albino brothers and sisters... Full Targaryen children. Purple eyes, white hair, pale skin, strong and dangerous character. He even goes so far as to say that his children eradicated power and privilege as soon as they started wearing their nappies and could keep their purple eyes open for more than a few minutes. They look soooo much like him, and he loves them all.
He loves them with passion, he loves them with madness, he cannot help thinking that in the event of any attack, he would not hesitate to put his children and his husband on the back of his dragon and fly them to safety (yes, he would even trust that Northman Stark) so that he could stay and give them time to escape.
But, when he held Visenya, his sweet child, in his arms... all that resentment he had towards his father for preferring his older sister somehow made some sense. Of course, he never forgave Viserys for it, but now he understood.
Visenya had everything he revered about her omega husband.
She had the chocolate curls, his pink lips, skin the colour of wheat, his freckles patterned after the firmament, flushed cheeks, deer's paws, and beautiful almond-shaped eyes that seemed to glow like copper when they were looking at him. Visenýa laughs just like Luke, smiles just like him, has the same mannerisms as him, is just as kind and sweet as her father.
And, try as he might, he can't help it. He can't help but adore her.
Then, when he starts to make some parallels... it breaks his heart to think that the assumptions are true.
His father always treated Rhaenyra differently because she bore too many similarities to Aemma, who died after giving birth. His father, for a time, had only his only daughter to remember his beloved wife and companion. So he cared for her, defended her... he didn't want to lose her again.
Totally understandable. At least now that he has his own children.
What if something similar had happened to Lucerys? He feels he would go mad.
He knows he could not avoid it, and it pains him to know that his children themselves know it would happen.
Of all her children, Visenya was the only one fortunate enough to look like Luke.
He knows he would care for her, overprotect her, adore her if she were all he had left of Luke. All of his older children are too much like a dragonfighter, strong children, powerful children... so much like him.
That's why, unconsciously, he can't help but always keep his daughter close to him.
His to protect, his to guard, his to look after and watch over.
If his older children join in, he says nothing. If his older kids seem to join in his plan to protect their omega father... no one says anything. He will not stop his other offspring from helping him protect what is theirs.
Fanfic Idea! (ABO Lucemond, soft and sweet)
It is a fact that everyone knows about Viserys' extreme favoritism when it comes to Rhaenyra, since she is the only child born from Aemma. Aemond knows that as well (of course he does, he experienced the height of his sire's favoritism the moment he lost his eye), and he curses his sire for it. Couldn't he have shown a little compassion towards his other children? Couldn't he at least hide his blatant favoritism?
Aemond wouldn't do that to his children. He knew the pain and embarrassment of being treated as nothing but passing wind compared to his "delightful, could do no wrong" elder sister. So he made a promise to himself, to never favor one child over the other, to show equal love and affection towards all his pups.
He is having a hard time keeping that promise. He tries, the Seven knows he does. He gives all of them the same attention, gives all of them the same amount of his time and effort to raise and teach and guide. It's just that he just so happens to catch himself giving a tiny bit more towards his youngest.
She's younger than them, he says to himself, so of course he would need to give her just a little bit more attention and care. It wasn't favoritism, no, it's simply giving her what she needs while young, so she may grow like the others. So what if he allows her to skip some of her classes, or allows her to sit on his lap on important meetings. He's done the same for all his children (no he didn't). So what if he gave her his portion of desserts, she's still growing after all. And what if he often takes her for a ride on Vhagar, he's done it with all of them (not to this extent).
He's not showing favoritism! (His mate disagrees, very strongly.)
In all honesty, even he doesn't know why he does it. (He does, he just doesn't want to admit it.) His little girl was simply...his little girl. And he does treat his pups equally! He just so happens to dote a tiny bit more towards her.
Lucerys huffs when he sees his sweet youngest sitting on her sire's lap, rambling about the seashell she managed to collect. He was intially afraid for her, when she came out with dark hair and eyes instead of the blonde hair and purple eyes the rest of his children bore. Memories of the world calling him a bastard for his traits almost made him lose himself when he held her in his arms for the first time.
He was even more afraid that Aemond would suspect him (he had nothing to hide, but the fear of Aemond calling their child a bastard made it so much harder to breath) and would in turn hate her. He was very wrong.
Aemond had always had a lovingly stunned look whenever Aemond presented their pups to him. It all paled in comparison when he nervously presented his youngest. While Aemond adored all his pups, he revered his youngest. The look of awe he had when he cautiously held her was something Luceeys could never forget.
Of course, it didn't take long for everyone in Driftmark to note how special he treated her. Even the children began making remarks, and at first Lucerys feared they would hate her for hogging their sire's attention. After all, he was their favorite person (besides Lucerys, of course). Surprisingly, they just shrugged it off. They acted like it was an obvious thing for their sire to do.
When he asked why it didn't bother them as much, why they treated their sire favoring her as normal or expected, his eldest rolled his eyes, like the answer was the most obvious thing in the world. "Muña, of course kepa favors her. She looks like you."
-----------------
I like to think that, try as he might, Aemond has a bit of Viserys in him, not enough to ignore his other children, but just enough to show favoritism to a certain one.

Make me blind, but at least not kill me with your back.
This is for my adorable and loveable @iucemond!
I hope you enjoy this honey!
Tumblr media
"We knew the resentment was strong.... but to have a mistress in his room when his betrothed is on the other side? Even Lannister whores have more shame and stay in candlelight as their only way to be seen by others."
Alicent could hear that from one of the maids, apparently she had been charged with cleaning the room of her second son, Aemond, in the morning. Over the years, she herself had given up trying to buy and control what the palace servants and retainers said.
With Aegon she tried to make amends and keep things quiet, but that only made all the rumours get  bigger abd bigger until they runned over her husband faster; he could only look her in the eye in utter disappointment and get all the servants concerned dismissed with large compensations. New ones were hired, of course, but they were no longer in charge of her or the chief servants. They were in charge of her husband, who spent a few hours a day with all of them to find out the situation. It was clear that the servants, new as they were, were still loyal to Viserys; a failure on his list.
Failure with Aegon, Haelena had gone "delicate", Daeron was no longer in his care... the only thing left on her list of victories was her son Aemond.
But clearly no more. Not after this.
Even if she tried, that words of clearly betrayal would travel to her husbands ears at the end of the day.
She knew her son was unhappy about his future marriage to Lucerys, she herself (even drawing out all the hatred and resentment in her heart) noted that both boys were uncomfortable about the prospect of having to marry. So when her husband argued that it would be the perfect way to unite their family... she asked for reconsideration.
"The scar has healed, husband," she begged, "but your hearts have not healed," she pleaded on her knees in front of the court. Don't let them bleed to death, please."
But they were pleas to deaf ears. Even Rhaenyra, her old friend, asked for reconsideration and then a rejection of her father's proposal... but it was all deaf ears for the King.
And so, before the entire kingdom and adjacent kingdoms, his son's marriage to his grandson was made official.
Lucerys, the boy she once hated more than anyone else in the world, cried his eyes dry, cried as his robes turned from red and black or blue to a greenish-black hue.
All the noble and the ladys of all around the globe could notice the clear and unfair desition that the king had made... even the Stark tried to put one of his sons to oppose the proposal; Cregan? is she might no been forgetfull, shout and cry, infront of everyone, about how Lucerys and him had been bethroted since the tenth springs of the Velarion boy’s existence. Aegon (Aegon! from all of the people) proclame in a sober tone that was a mistake.
Even Aemond try to scape, but couldn’t.
But her husband, her stupid and blind husband wouldn’t see it.
After that Lucerys moved to Kingslangind to be close to his future husband. But since the first day he was miserable.
He locked himself in his chambers and refused to even look at his grandfather... who seemed to die a little more in the face of his grandson's clear depression. But wouldn't he react like that? Lucerys had tried everything to at least befriend his son, but to no avail.
Moons and a few year passed of attempts, but even her son remained fervent in his refusal. He was not explicit in his rejection of the whole proposal, and began to associate more with Ser Cole, who took him (to everyone's surprise) to tourney after tourney in order to postpone the wedding as long as possible.
And she couldn't help, with that loneliness that distressed her, to get fond of the poor, sweet child. (Sweet son, sweet child, now she understands why her old friend called her middle child that; he was a sweetness).
She and her daughter, Haelena, tell him all the positive anecdotes of their Aemond, in order to soothe some of their sorrows for the poor child. They tell him how brave he is, how determined, how strong, how clever, how careful Aemond is; how good he is to his nephews, how kind he is to the servants, how devoted he is to old Vhagar, how careful he is to her and his sister.
They tell him lovely anecdotes, to show Lucerys that, when Aemond returns and agrees to try a friendship with him, their future together may be peaceful. That not everything will be black or painful.
The one thing she is grateful to the Seven for is that Lucerys will not be forced to have offspring with Aemond, no. Things would be worse then. She herself admits that it hurt her to love her children, she had to learn to love and care for them... she sees Lucerys, and the more she gets to know him the more she realises that he and his son could not cope with the weight of a baby and its upbringing.
Where would they get a baby for them anyway, both being men? The only blessed thing about their engagement and future marriage. A baby, let alone a baby that didn't belong to either of them, would be a curse.
It would end up embittering Aemond, and it wouldn't be long before it would tear his grandson apart.
And, to lla's calm during the first few months, Lucerys began to calm and soothe with his union with Aemond.
The more anecdotes she and her daughter told, the more Lucerys seemed to come out of his depressed state and returned to being the sweet, cheerful child who would not hesitate to ask Aegon for a game of chess or ride with Arrax through the skies until lunchtime.
Aemond, the little time he spent in the palace, was haunted by the boy, who did not hesitate to ask him about his adventures, celebrate his victories and encourage him in his defeats. Of course, his son would not yell at Lucerys for shouting barbarities when he lost... but even a servant with impaired eyes would notice the displeasure of his son's eye nate his betrothed.
Aemond would speak to his betrothed in short, dry words and in the event of a normal conversation, it would be only if it was about improving Vhagar's care or Lucerys' wooden swords. Lucerys would perk up a bit when the young man looked her way...but no more than that.
Not soothing or kind words. Not approach during dinners or light conversation...nothing.
Viserys seemed to notice nothing...or was simply blind to the very misfortune he himself had created.
Tumblr media
And now as she enters her second son's room, and sees an older woman naked on those sheets... she feels her daughter's words of dancing dragons begin to draw clearly in her memory.
She can't even say anything or throw that woman out of her son's room by the head, because Lucerys (now also her sweet boy) comes animatedly into the room and sees the mess of sheets and fluids that Aemond and the other woman have made the night before.
(She would later learn that it was the same maid from before who tried to stop Lucerys from going to Aemond's room, but the boy would have outrun her when he learned that his uncle was back in the palace).
To say that things regressed and got worse was an understatement.
Viserys nearly set the whole place on fire when he learned of his second son's gall...and nearly burned the mistress when she, within the gall she had, tried to justify Aemond from breaking his oath. Alys, as she would learn during the confrotation that her name was, to everyone's irony, She was also a bastard from the house of Lucerys' biological father.
Lucerys, only asked one thing, the boy's voice was small, tiny in comparison to the cries of her husband within the entire noble court room.
"Why?"
"THE union was nonsense" was Alys's impudence, the one who spoke, her foolish son seemed comfortable letting his lover speak, as if he had no fear that the whole court was about to fall into chaos because of his idiocy "You can't even give offspring to the prince; not like me that I am already waiting for the-"
Alicent doesn't know how or at what moment, but his body moved on its own.
She doesn't know if it was the rage, if it was the sadness she felt for herself for another failure added to her list of failures, if it was the presence of the woman's lack of sitting and the audacity to show the world the rotten seed she was carrying, or if it was the newly acquired affection for Lucerys that made her body move.
She really doesn't know.
But it had to be her husband, her sick and weak husband, who pulled her out of the slut's lap. Who had to stop her, again, from pulling the knife from the belt of the king's robe, to plunge it into the bastard's neck. It was Aegon, who for the first time was sober enough (he does not know if by the fright of his father's screams or by the surprise of his younger brother's actions) who had to restrain Lucerys who fell shattered on the floor without being able to wake up.
After that, and having to sedate her and her grandson with poppy milk. That everything fell into a tailspin of was destroyed.
In short, neither Lucerys nor she was the same after that day.
Tumblr media
And for that very reason, Viserys himself decided to give in to blindness again... but this time for her act.
She herself noticed how Lucerys lost her joy and the desire to live.
She herself demanded the maids to take all the rejected letters that Lucerys wrote to her family trying to defend his betrothed. Oh, the poor child, even in her agonizing grief, at the clear stain he had lived through her future husband's infidelity.
Her grandson was trying with all the little strength and dignity he had left to fight for his fool of a son.
Son who, to her pain, to the pain of the boy and of all the witnesses, strolled quietly with his mistress through the corridors of the palace. Even Aegon, in his worst moments, had never had the audacity to walk any of his whores through the corridors of the palace.
So, with her newfound freedom, and with the secret support of her old friend, she began her plans.
She could not escape a loveless marriage... but he could.
The only thing that she can even be proud of on all this hell situation was that, Aemodn posponed evrything. Lucerys still having a chance to scape.
And she, as a “Forgive me” gift for Lucerys and her Nyra, would make it happend.
As the woman's belly grew, Alicent took care of many things.
She appointed the best maids to Lucerys' care, she sent the two best soldiers to the care of her son's betrothed (even when Viserys tried to cut off the betrothal the boy had refused thinking that everything could still change), only the best of the best.
Sure, her son would still have the servants at his disposal...but that didn't ensure that his things would move slightly and things wouldn't be complete in time. That she did punish him, slightly, when she found out. It seemed that even the servants had been enraged at the shameless act of their once best prince. it only happened on a couple of occasions, so it couldn't be corrected properly, it stopped after the first scolding.
But, the best part (the only one that made his heart feel alive again and sweetened when he noticed the sweet boy's smile), was when the “secrets” letters began to arrived. Or at least when she noticed them after a quite time.
Aemond already have a mistress, and sadly, a future baby onboard. Why could Lucerys find his own special someone to be able to be free with?
She had ensured herself, with a bit of Aegon's surprisingly great ideas, to bring a promising knight onto the palace grounds. Probably, in terms of her son and her daughter, having a new friend would make the boy recover a little bit of his smile and not be depressed... That al least could work until she can think a way to make Lucerys happy again.
He was a truly promising young man. He was strong and had good references from all his coaches and colleagues who were preparing to be knights of the royal guard.
Faithful, devoted, sweet, and charitable…everything good she ever believed Aemond to be. A little older, a few years older than her son Aegon, but with such curiosity that more than an adult he seemed like a child playing with swords and with dreams of being a real knight. Elric, without a surname as he is a commoner (chosen by Ser Cole himself, this being one of her new students).
So much joy packed, Lucerys could really benefit from that young man. So she put them together. She herself arranged for the young prince Velaryon to be trained in the sword by Elric.
And so it was, they spent days and entire afternoons training, first in silence, then with animated words and euphoric shouts. A couple of months passed, when she noticed during a visit to Lucerys' chambers, that the young man had some letters hidden there.
The handwriting was clearly a little crooked, as if the writer wasn't used to having a quill or charcoal in her hands, but the few things she could read were sweet and cheerful. And, something inside her, she couldn't help but feel pain and longing.
"I wish I could see those sunsets. You always say that lemon cakes are delicious... I can ask one of the cooks to give us some. We would take them up the hill and train there."
That paragraph reminded him of the best days of hers with Rhaenyra, it reminded him of the best of times... Was Elric learning to write from his grandson? That close were they getting?
So, she simply pretended not to notice the letters, or Lucerys' flushed faces when he returned from training or suspicious escapades with Elric.
She pretended not to notice how Elric would become more and more attached to Lucerys' escort, or how both young men would tell inside jokes and stay talking for hours after each training session. Or like Elric's handwriting, in the letters that were badly hidden, they began to straighten out and become a little more daring.
And when there were only a couple of moons left for Aemond's baby and that woman to be born, it was Aegon who spoke to him, one afternoon when he remained sober and they both watched the training of the knights inside the castle courtyard.
"You know, when I was young Ser Cole would go on and on about beautiful farmlands to the west of our capital" his son commented, sipping the tea she had ordered for both of them "He said those lands were so fertile that all kinds of plants and fruits would grow regardless of the situation of the entire kingdom or the climate the Seven decided to put on us."
"What are you getting at with this?" she asked him, noticing how Aegon was about to eat the cupcakes she had reserved on her own plate.
"Well, they are lands so fertile that they need young knights and protectors for those lands," he said, staring at her, but glancing back at Elric, who was shredding his second or third doll of hay. "I'm concerned for the safety of those hard-working people, mother. And it seems that Lucerys has returned to being that cheerful child of always... I think he doesn't need as much support as before; they will be fine on their own, we can handle the situation from here."
The proposal was clear. Elric's services were no longer needed... But that did not mean that everything had to end in such a sad way. Even more so when she could see her son, that she passed in front of Elric, going in the direction of her lover who was with her belly quite extended.
"There are dragons that dance better with beautiful lambs, they run through the rivers and forests in search of flax and hot stones" mentioned Haelena, her precious daughter "Dragons no longer dance together, that's why jewels don't rot."
So she allowed it.
She called Elric that same night to her chambers, and gave him a mission to go to that faraway valley to take care of those hardworking people. It was a permanent mission.
The young man left her room, with an upset face... and she only stopped to pray and pray that the insinuations of her eldest son and the new words of her daughter were true.
Then, when the scream of the maids the next morning, screams coming from Lucerys' room, reached her ears. Screams of the disappearance of the young prince... she could only cry in joy.
Elric hadn't been found either, but no one could say much about the promising knight, since he had departed after his assigned mission.
Tumblr media
After a few months, after her old friend arrived enraged in Kingslanding with her husband and all her worried offspring (who later returned calm and calm after a talk with her and everyone who took care of Lucerys)... she got a message. .
The paper was clearly poor, easily wrinkled, stained and quite brittle compared to the good parchment used in the capital. The handwriting, still clumsy but careful, was written in a dark charcoal and left several smudges.
Elric had written to him.
He wrote to her about the progress of the mission, about the care he gave to that town, about how he took care of each one of the inhabitants with courage and always talking about her goodness towards her people. But, everything the young gentleman described was in the plural... and that ended up calming his heart.
At the end of the letter, with a much finer and more delicate handwriting, he could see how someone left him another message.
"Thank you".
And that soothed his heart and he crossed off all her mistakes from his list of failures. They were so calm and serene that she did not blink an eye the next day, when one of the maesters told her that the baby of her son's lover had been born dead.
The only burial allowed by her, the court and her husband for the deceased born was an unmarked grave. Aemond protested, but even her husband fell for it, claiming that the disappearance of her fiancée had more importance than the death of a bastard with no shared blood in her veins. After that, Alys was banished and Aemond was forced into an endless search for her missing fiancée. Fiancée that neverwas to be found after a all year of exhausting search.
Or when Viserys told her that she was sending secret guards to the same area that Elric had gone to fulfill her mission, when he noticed that the fruit was from there, or when no one wondered why the Targaryen heiress never calcined the palace after the disappearance of her son. dear of her.
Or when after a years, another letter arrived, inside an oranges box, but this time with the carbon footprint of a tiny baby's foot all over it. Signed by Elric, wishing for the queen’s blessing t he baby and his future.
The only thing that the people knew, like all the servants of the palace, was that she calmed her son Aemond down after the death of his eldest son letting him know where the grave of his bastard was, that she bought more fruits from the valleys far from the capital and that she always kept hidden in them a chest of threadbare papers that occasionally arrived with orders for fruit.
Tumblr media
If after a decade, when Rhaenyra took the throne, and the whole kingdom entered into peace, a little boy with curly brown hair and purple eyes came to the palace, asking to be trained to be a knight... she said nothing. He didn't refuse anything.
The other servants only watched as she, along with the new queen, pampered the child, filling him with lemon cakes and giving him the best swords and trainers anyone could have ever asked for. If her son Aemond refused to be in the presence of the little one, she would not reproach him.
The End.

Aemond can't help himself.
The maester tells him that it is unhealthy to stay there. His soldiers and the faithful few who remain after the massacre mention in fearful whispers that they can no longer replace him.
But he cannot. He refuses.
He holds his only daughter's sleeping shoes, clutches his baby's blanket tightly, while he carries his firstborn's toy sword with him.
A sword that was shattered after her son, her baby, tried to attack the rudians above Lucerys.
No longer weeping, her sons' dragons perished soon after the death of their riders. There is no more fire and only the ashes and the pain that comes with the thought of having to clean them up.
It was his duty as a husband and father to care for his consort king and his children. How could he fail?
So, as the days pass and Lucerys' bed seems to lose its smell, his son's sword finishes shattering, his baby's blanket falls apart, and his daughter's shoes become too worn... he begins to read.
She reads of everything, of old and new faiths, of the gods, their believers, their religions, she reads about dragons and rituals. He reads about pagans and cults.
He reads and never stops reading.
And when he comes back to court and starts working, everyone thinks he's starting to heal a bit.
And when a witch with preening eyes arrives... they let him pass.
But, when they hear the cry of a baby, the laughter of the young princess and the peepings of the young prince. Chaos ensues.
At first they can't see him, no one can see the young princess, who asks the servants and maids to please leave her some cakes. No one knows how to calm the baby's crying at night, and the knights can't help but lose more training swords.
But, all hell breaks loose when their King, one day, presents her husband and her deceased children to the court.
Everyone knows it is them, their presence is undeniable. It was a miracle, it was the witch's magic that allowed them to live on.
But every wish has its cost.
And everyone feared to see what the price had been.
Tumblr media
aemond lets aegon escape and becomes a usurper himself.
when lucerys learns of his husband’s coronation, they fight loudly in front of their children, causing them to cry in distress. luke swears aemond he will never forgive him. “your desperate desire for power will be our doom,” he says. their relationship goes even worse as luke loses his family one by one in the war, locked up at the red keep.
years later, the dance of the dragons is won by the greens, and political games by lords begin. the king’s supporters openly despise the only survived son of the half-year queen and his offspring. they are often called “dirty blood” in the court, but aemond is unaware of it.
lucerys understands his sons are in great danger at the keep. he can no longer trust aemond, whom he accused of betrayal. so luke tries to escape. unsuccessfully. at night, the prince consort and all of king’s heirs are found dead. the king burns traitors and murderers in dragonfire, heartbroken and furious.
aemond will never know that in his last moments lucerys thought it was his husband who ordered to kill him and their sons.

Let’s get this straight in HOTD ship discourse:
Out of all the so-called “perverted” ships in the show, we could name quite a few to be honest.. Daemon/Rhaenyra’s age-gap is close to 20 years apart. We had scenes of them with implied sexual tension even when Rhaenyra was only 14 in episode 1, yet no one seemed to have a problem with that. Viserys/Alicent..we won’t even talk about the age-gap between these two because it’s just absurd, but it is an arranged marriage. Yet again, most people don’t seem to have a problem with this.
Aemond/Alys, or Daemon/Alys, the largest age-gap thus far considering Gayle Rankin claims that Alys is nearly 400 years old beneath her glimmer.
Lastly Aemond/Lucerys, these two have the least of the age-gaps as they are only 3 years apart and yet people still call this the most “monstrous” of all the ships in show-verse. I get it, Elliot, who plays Luke is far younger than Ewan, so the age disparity is more obvious than it should be in canon, but so was Matt Smith and Milly Alcock when they portrayed Daemon/Rhaenyra…Let’s be real though, the main reason people are offended by this pairing is because it’s a queer ship. Had Lucerys been a girl there wouldn’t be near as much affront. I know a lot of talented, amazing individuals who have written for this ship..particularly aged-up Aemond/Lucerys and none of them deserve the hate directed towards them nor their work when there are far more disturbing ships in the show. Not everyone who supports this pairing condone fanart/works portraying the underage actor. So let’s stop acting like everyone who ships Lucerys/Aemond is demon spawn for seven hells sake. 🤝

yeah i like ships where both of the characters are optimists, motivated, have actual goals and fulfilling hobbies BUT I AM FERAL OVER ships where both of them have no positive relations beside the other, or are living to kill the other, are an image of the other's most wretched sin, their everlasting regret, forever scarred and marked by the other in an irredeemable irreversible way, an abandoned god and their most devout follower, they want to live in the other's skin, and hunger for the other's raw flesh and blood, and owe a debt to the other that can never truly be paid, and their maker, and their reason to kill, and cannot be seperated or one of them just fucking dies, and characters who will choose each other despite everything they both have done and

For @unohanabbygirl, thanks for the inspiration!!!
Marmalade had not been at the King's Court for long.
Well, actually, Marmalade didn't have much time on many things. Just a few days ago she didn't even have a name or a place to drop dead, but now she had a sweet name (Very sweet! As sweet as the candy one of the guards gave her), a decent change of clothes and slippers on her feet. Yep. Now Marmalade can said proudly that she have two pair of slippers, 2 uniform dress, one pijama dress and large ragbow for her hair.
Isn't that great?
Marmalade knows she's not the smartest, she really struggles to read the room and clearly only has a few written words memorized by fire so she won't get lost in the place or know where to send correspondence. But other people and herself can't deny that she tries her best and, thank the gods, that's considered a good playing card inside the castle.
Marmalade has slowly moved from command to command until she became one of the maids to take care of Prince Lucerys.
Tumblr media
And for that very reason, Marmalade (despite not being the smartest or the fastest) knows that it was a good idea to put laxative in her master's brother's tea. She doesn't feel guilty, not really, but if Marmalade herself understands or notices that Prince Jaecerys is mean to her master... no one can tell her anything.
After all, the laxative herbs seems too similar to the actual tea herbs. Ms. Currybures assured her and the head butler that her mistake was quite often after all. (Even though she saw Ms. Currysbures changing the herbs in porpuse. Or she was also confused? Maybe Ms. was also confused!)
Marmalade does not know when or how. But from being one of his master's favourite people (his master's older brother), the crown prince ended up being a great nuisance and a great pain in the arse. He was trying to sneak in through entrances, crying at the door for his master. But Marmalade refused to let him in, no matter if it meant other maids calling her a busybody or a fool. But clearly her master couldn't say no to his on his own; she had to.
Her prince knew that seeing his brother would end up more broken. How sad, the brother who preached so much about loving and caring for him was the first to hurt him. And yet, with the husband he loved so much.
That’s why she does not permit that man close to her master.
Because of that man her master doesn't want to eat, because of that man her master doesn't read to Marmalade and the other maids anymore; because of that man and her master's husband, Marmalade must check full time and can't weigh because she fears that her master one day will jump off her balcony. Not again... at least.
Because it is not the first time it happens. The attempt, you know?
She still remembers the scream she gave when she noticed her good prince standing on the balcony ledge. Had it not been for Ser Halland's help, Marmalade would definitely have fallen beside her master in a futile attempt to push him away.
After that she and Ser Halland, the same one who gave her sweets as soon as she arrived at the palace, would take turns together with other maids and guards to prevent the same incident from happening.
She even saw how Ser Halland managed to restrain her master's husband! Prince Aemond, when he heard about his master's attempt, demanded to see him and speak to him. The same accours with his master’s brother.
Marmalade profoundly refused to even let him pass near the door of his prince's chambers. But it was only when Ser and other maids joined him that Prince Aemond resigned himself to leave.
She did not notice, maybe because of the strees or the determination she had at the moment, but apparently she was trembling badly, for her master asked her to sit and drink tea with him. After that, and after another long and complicated talk, Marmalade was definitely left as a lady-in-waiting to her prince; and Ser Halland was left as one of his personal guards.
She only have few task, but she manage to did them well. Like making her master happy.
Mermelade doesn't know many things, she can't read, she can't write, she doesn't know how sarcasm works or the weird jokes the guards tell. Mermelada only knows that there are good and bad people... and his poor master has had to discover that one of his good people was actually a bad person.
Very bad.
But, despite all his shortcomings, Marmalade knows how to listen, and even though his mind and his master Lucerys' words are big and complicated, she knows that he feels sad, betrayed and alone.
No matter that everyone in the castle is on his beloved prince’s side, no matter that King Viserys said with complicated words that Jaecerys was no longer a worthy candidate for his crown; what mattered was that the Green Queen had given Marmalade the go-ahead to cheer her master up.
Would you believe that she even gave Marmalade several candies if she gave laxative herbs to her own son?
Of course she wouldn't sell herself so easily, a couple of meat pies and a piece of meringue were adequate payment for the One-Eyed Prince to spend a whole month indisposed. The candys were for her, the meet pies were for Ser. Halland, because he was the one who helped her sneaking away and distracting the ther prince's Aemond guards.
But that's not the point.
The Point is that, apparently, Marmalade is very good at making her master happy, because every time Marmalade takes Lucerys out for the village market (always in disguise, so they don't run into bad people, or so Ser Halland tells Marmalade) her master doesn't hesitate to go to the same fish stall to talk to the fisherman.
The fisherman and her master met during one of the firsts “secret” outings that she and the prince Lucerys did. He helped them to move around, be more cautios and brave arouend the commoners.
The fisherman was funny! Always making her master laugh and laugh!
Tumblr media
But, one of the knight found out.
She was genuinely afraid that Ser Halland would prevent them from going out. Even more so considering that her master was now smiling more and eating again. Marmelade was terribly scared this time!!!!!
She just wanted to make him, his sweet prince, happy!
But thank the gods, Ser Halland just pulled out a small sword and joined her adventures in the city. Now were the three of them outing arround the capital, eating sweets, laughing and being happy.
Tumblr media
Even Mermelada can say that the gentleman and the fisherman became good friends! They started to tell each other funny jokes among other things. Even thought she never get the jokes she also laughed with them!
And so went their routine of her and her prince. Escaping from the castle in the evenings, meeting the fisherman, and hanging out on the days when it was possible to do so.
Sometimes it was just Marmalade and Lucerys, sometimes it was just Lucerys and Ser Halland. But, as soon as they reached the fisherman's stall, it was just Lucerys and the fisherman.
Ser Halland, when he notices that their master and the owner are talking for a long time, takes Marmalade out and takes her to a nearby stall to watch from afar how the two interact. Occasionally he even buys her more sweet things or a new nightgown and explains that sometimes friendships grow best in privacy.
Although she understands that, she doesn't understand why Ser. Halland covers her eyes when his master gets too close to the fisherman's face. Or when he covers her ears when it seems his master Lucerys is talking about a sea voyage through Essos.
What's wrong with wanting to travel?
If Marmalade had ever had the chance to do it, she would have jumped on the first boat out there and gone around the world. There were so many things she doesn't understand but she wants to at least be there to see it!
But it doesn't matter, because Ser Halland tells her that they are fantasies of Prince Lucerys. He doesn't want her to get dizzy because of pure fantasies.
"Don't listen to him Marmalade, it seems our prince is telling his friend one of his many dreams."
Anyway, she doesn't care much anymore, because Ser Halland gives her a pretty rag doll (she doesn't notice how her master and his friend the fisherman are smiling at Ser Halland). She is so excited about her new doll that she completely forgets to ask her master why she walks in such a funny way or why she has purple make-up dots on her neck.
No matter, because Marmalade puts on a pair of thick leather collars she found at the market so her master won't be embarrassed back at the castle.
-------
Marmalade's job, although it sounds fun at times, is not so simple.
Although she is one of Lucerys' main maids, she, not having the degree of education required by the other maids, only refrains from being a "extra glorified nursemaid". Her role at court and in Lucerys' command is merely to distract her master, make him happy and help him feel comfortable. Kind of like a jester's job? She do not know, but at least she always made her master laugh.
That's why Marmalade has had to lear how to read, how to write, how to understand difficult words and not to jump at the first provocation. And just because she knows that her master gets sad if she doesn't do things right, she doesn't jump on the maid who had the nerve to insult her precious master.
"Prince Jaecerys may be a bastard, but at least he's a more princely bastard than Prince Lucerys, Prince Jacearys knows how to fight whith swords and pretty inteligents as well" Marmalade had heard once "No wonder Prince Aemond went after him instead of his husband."
She didn't hit that horrendous woman, but she definitely made sure the floor was so polished that the silly maid would be slipping until the end of time.
And the maid did!
But all that courage was not taken away from her.So when the Green Queen and the Crown Princess call her one day to ask her about the welfare of her prince... she thinks nothing of it. It was a cool place, full of pretty flowers and even prettier butterflies.
The ladies don't look upset or distressed, they simply want to know what the prince is doing. There's nothing wrong with that, is there?
So Marmalade tells them about the adventures they both have in the castle. How she and her prince and his knight friend run through the corridors looking for books, eating cakes, training, reading and buying fish.
The ladies are satisfied, give Marmalade some sweets and ask her, both by command and by request, never to leave Prince Lucerys' side.
"I would not leave my prince alone, your highnesses" she answered them seriously, as serious as she tries to be "My lord and master will always be happy; even if I have to tame a dragon myself to do it".
----------------------------------------
Ser Halland is a clever man, or so he likes to think.Well, he must be clever enough to make it to Prince Lucerys's warding position.
But he doubts his intelligence when it comes to Marmalade and The Pearl of the Realm.
Tumblr media
Both children keep doing crazy things after crazy things. And Halland doesn't know if it's the prince's luck or the little maid's innocence that has kept the three of them from getting into disastrous trouble.
Of course, if it had been anyone else, he would have left them to their fate. But it was impossible to do so with his prince and his favourite maid. Marmalade was not even qualified to be a stable sweeper!
But she was so bubbly that the girl quickly climbed up to the level she was at.
The lack of good in her life made her clumsy and sometimes foolish, but like his prince, she had her heart and mind in the right place. That, at least he thinks, is why everything seems to be going so well for them.
He hides the evidence of the three of them running around the capital several 'days a week. He himself is in charge of distracting Marmalade, and making her happy, when he notices that his prince is falling in love again; he is in charge of getting to know Marmalade, while her prince is happy again.
He knows that if Marmalade is discovered, she will most likely be killed. For a maid to help a prince go to his mistress is still a serious matter. So, even though, at first as a duty, he took it upon himself to amuse her with things so that she wouldn't notice Lucerys sleeping with that fisherman.
So, in that way, her foolishness could propapbly save her.
It really was annoying (all the secret mistress stuff, after all the prince was the one who suffer the most. He deserved happiness), all the more so because he was getting himself into trouble by disappearing for so long, not taking care of his tasks. What could he say in his defence? Nothing.
Though, ironically, Marmalade herself, who was getting him into trouble, was helping him cover his faults.
"Ser Halland is teaching me to write," she had told his commander, she was so small in comparison and all her face was red as a cherry "I want to learn to write my prince's name and a paragraph of a chant of the septas. Please, do not reprimend him."
It was amusing to see how a little maid had saved him from so much trouble. So over time, he begins to like her and even helps her with her madness.
So, when he hears that Marmalade polished, poorly, the floor so that an idiot maid would fall.... well.
Let's just say he forced several of the new recruits to polish all the floors in the castle, to make sure Marmalade's plan worked. Incidentally, seeing Prince Aemond fall down a few corridors was the icing on the cake.
Those were, in fact, the best days of his life.
Tumblr media
Mermelada didn't know what was going on.
Her prince was so exhausted after another stroll through the city centre that he hadn't even gone out to dinner with his sister-in-law and her sisters or his younger brothers. He went only to his chambers and she had to do all the work of undressing him and asking the other maids to help in changing and combing his hair.
At the end of the day, and after putting his master to bed and properly tucking him in, she simply decided to move things along while she watched over his sleep.
She had noticed how Princess Heleana had sent several embroideries with different rainbow insects for the prince, as well as scarves and embroideries of dragons and seahorses. They were beautiful! definitely made by a lady of high birth and great talent… the small detail was that due to her wanderings, her prince had completely forgotten to frame them in small wooden frames.
Marmalade knew, or so she had been taught by some maids older than her, that it was impolite not to take proper care of the gifts given to them by others.
"Well… think of it this way, Ser Halland would be very sad if he noticed your doll was dirty, wouldn't he?" Jane had said when she asked how she could keep the prince's new tablecloths "Because it implies that you don't care for something he took a long time to think about giving you. You can't carelessly put away handkerchiefs, you must square them up so that they at least look decorative."
Now, beside her wrist (to make sure her dolly it was not dirty and careless) she was carefully drawing on some old parchment the shapes of the frames for the handkerchiefs.
She lay quietly beside her doll, enjoying the fire burning and her master's breaths. Being. Halland was just outside the room, standing guard as he did every night…. and it just happened.
From one moment to the next, she was now tugging her prince who was barely awake with fear.
They both ran as fast as their legs and bare feet would allow them to run, and desperately jumped at any break of the servants she could remember to flee the place. The shouts in High Valyrian made her wince a little, sounding like insults in the way the prince clenched his hands and quickened his pace.
Naye knows how, but apparently one of the maids who were loyal to Prince Aemond had slipped in just as she was looking for new nightclothes for Lucerys. And seeing him naked, she had to warn the other prince about his husband's.
He tried to open the doors of the chambers with all his strength and his drawn sword.
Ser Halland had managed to open secret compartments for them and buy them time. They did not have much in what little they had managed to get out in time. In the pouch of her maid's uniform, she had tucked just at her doll, one of the gift handkerchiefs and a small pair of embroidery scissors that had been on the table at the time of the attack. Her prince had put one of the dressing gowns on her during the escape and now she had to find one of the secret exits of the palace in order to be able to.
She could only feel utter relief when she noticed Ser Halland calling out her name and leading her and her prince into one of the knight's passages to an outer part of the castle.
And just as they barely noticed the light of the campfires outside… someone tugged at her prince.
Marmalade didn't think much of it. She knew it wasn't Halland, for he was finding her and she was pulling Lucerys to secure a method of escape. It had to be the one-eyed prince; he had already found them.
The shouts in Valyrian were not understandable, but the tugging and her poor attempts to pull her prince away from her furious husband were no help. Halland was far back in the hallway after being kicked in an attempt to separate them (at which point Aemond had charged Lucerys and was only being held back by her trying to hit and trip him).
She was alone and her prince could not free himself no matter how hard he scratched and kicked. In a moment of weakness, or exhaustion considering the uphill battle it was to keep her master and herself in order, she noticed how Prince Aemond had loosened his grip a little.
She did not understand what he was saying to her prince, but she knew it was no good considering the look of disgust and hatred on his face and the increasingly victorious attempts to flee from the pressure. At the same time, he noticed how the knight was getting himself together again and was going for both of them.
And that's when she saw her chance.
So, without even thinking about it, and just as she had promised her Queen and Princess at the time… she simply made sure her prince was happy.
She did not hesitate, nor did she think about the consequences, but simply took the embroidery scissors from her pocket and stabbed him in Prince Aemond's leg.
He growl, like a injured animal and hit her head on the rock wall.
That's the last thing she heard. His Prince being carried away by Ser. Halland.
He, her prince, was shouting her name, traying to force Ser Halland to come back to her, but was imposible. Prince Aemond was standing up again, and she just repeat her attack. Everytime that was need it to give them time to scape
Just to end in the same situation every single time.
But, when the prince Aemond standed up again after her ultimate attack, Ser. Halland and his prince were not to be found. But that didn't seem to matter to the one-eyed prince, as he unhesitatingly stormed out of the secret corridor; leaving her alone and with her suspiciously wet head alone in the corridor.
Marmalade was cold, her head ached badly and was wetting more and more wet (even if there were not water in that place at all!), but now she was no longer alone in the street, naked and hungry. Now she knew she was dressed, beside her doll and making sure her prince was safe with Ser Halland.
So out of pain and exhaustion, she only closed her eyes in the hope of remembering the names of the streets of the city, the names of the candy and doll sellers; she knew that without those names she would not be able to meet her prince and Ser Halland again.
So she murmured them in her head, hoping that when she awoke, she would be able to see them and go to a new place of safety.
Tumblr media
(So much for that, I don't know what else to put in it, if you can think of a hopeful ending for Marmalade, the fisherman, Lucerys and Ser. Halland you are invited to give them a good ending.)
Unrequited Lucemond where jace and aemond are having an affair behind Luke’s back (maybe they had always had a thing going on but somehow a marriage between Lucemond happens and Luke is so happy because he’s been pining for a while)
After some years of his marriage bed remaining cold and dozens of failed seduction tactics Luke finds out about the affair. The whole situation blows up during court or a big ball where everyone stands witness. Its so bad that not even Aegon cracks a joke.
Luke’s heartbreak turns to rage, leading him to fake his death soon after. Now everyone is looking at Jace and Aemond like 👁️👄👁️
