i still think a lot about how technically, it's implied Anubis and Walt started dating each other before they asked out Sadie, and if Sadie had said she wasn't interested they would have gone "Entirely fair have a nice day" and proceed to just go continue to date each other.
Cause like, that was the entire thing. They decided that themselves. That things would work best if they were together (as in both physically sharing a body and also relationship-wise). The "asking Sadie about it" part was secondary. If she had said no, they would have stayed together, because among other things Walt would kind of die if they didn't. Walt and Anubis are technically the first gay couple in the Riordanverse. AND they're in a polyamorous relationship with Sadie. Why does no one talk about them ever.

Kinda got a love/hate relationship with the history of K/S because it's like. Can I please have a queer discussion about this 1960s television show without it being reduced to "shipper discourse". I thought Spock and Kirk were homo long before I knew that their characters spawned a fanfiction counterculture. The bisexual dude who wrote the episode that really kick-started the movement didn't know it was going to coalesce into the fan phenomenon that it did, he was just writing what he knew how to write best: the repression of burning male desire, and two dudes doing homoerotic shit. Can I just talk about the repressed burning male desire please, and the implications of a gay angle to Kirk and Spock's story, without it being referred to as shipper discourse. Can I do that. Does this make sense

......т.т Pyro dhfhdgds WHY when I am rambling about some cool idea nonstop I just receive cricket_noises.mp3 on this blog, but as soon as I briefly throw brain-damaging idea everyone goes 👀 I-
At this rate I BET that the actual reason is that literally everyone is secretly a Petrus simp and loathing this character is just an ironic joke that got out of hand :pensive:
^ here, since you felt guilty for spending the Tablet Moment on doodling a shitpost, look at what I'VE spent it at. Look at it

Russian Roulette update: Yassen's conversation with John towards the end of Командир (The Commander) genuinely made me tear up a bit. Y'all if I hadn't started shipping them at the start of Eagle Strike the first time I saw them interact this scene would've 100% convinced me because the way Yassen was so hesitant about working for Scopia at the start and had considered his other options, but now that John is tutoring him he desperately wants to prove his loyalty and competency. In the jungle John tells him he could leave if he wanted to, Scorpia had taught him enough about disguise - all this he had considered before himself, yet when John brings it up Yassen immediately shoots it down, becomes agitated. Why? Because he feels like John is questioning his competency. Remember what he said? "I can do this." John wants Yassen to not have to walk down the same path that he did, but ironically he is the reason Yassen even cares so much about succeeding in Scorpia in the first place. His cover worked a bit too well and now Yassen has a very fixed idea of who John is, and he will do anything to prove himself to his version of John.
You get it, right? The way they want completely different things out for each other, completely incompatible things, because they do not understand each other. These types of dynamics really just eat me up from the inside

i think some of you need to sit down and interrogate why you dislike sabina so much because from where i’m sitting a lot of it is just thinly veiled misogyny. you don’t have to ship her with alex and you don’t have to like her but i’m so tired of people treating her as nothing more than an obstacle to their ship of choice and then trying to shift the blame onto horowitz for writing her poorly when there are literally dozens of male side characters who we know nothing about that get more fandom attention than sabina does. she’s not some evil irredeemable wench for struggling to support alex after the events of eagle strike. she’s a fifteen year old girl whose entire life was upended and has to watch someone she cares about be blackmailed into putting himself in danger again and again. if you can forgive yassen for sending alex to scorpia or k-unit for treating him like shit in brecon beacons, why can’t you forgive sabina for pulling away and trying to live a normal life. you can find her annoying or boring or pointless as a character, but alex very clearly cares about her. acting like he doesn’t says more about your attitudes towards female characters than it does horowitz’s lol

sorry thinking about minazuki again.
me and the guy who lives in my brain and was probably born from my deep seated repressed understanding that my dad was abusing me and the survival instincts i had beaten out of me in order to become a better human weapon. there to protect me because i can't understand how to protect myself. who is also technically a potential harbinger of the doom of all mankind if he ever really got going but he would never do that to me specifically (FUCK THE REST OF YOU)
vs [deeper voice that's still clearly from the same vocal cords but with a completely different cadence and intonation] me and the mentally ill traumatized human i awakened within who i do my best to protect and care for with my limited understanding of how to do so. who can and has hurt me worse than anyone, to the point that my ingame title references that injury. but to hurt me is to hurt himself, and i would still do anything for him. so no matter what, i shoulder any burden i can manage for him. even to a fault. even to a breaking point.
we rely on each other. two halves of a whole. and yet we cannot admit that we share a deeper bond than many could imagine. it didn't even come to mind. someone else had to point it out. we meant the world to each other while never knowing how to articulate it.
and our persona who is a weird owl.
