Mousewhisker x Poppyfrost - it might be kind of weird for Poppyfrost to get with her dead mates brother but then again that’s what Berrynose did so it would be funny. I do prefer another straight ship forMousewhisker tho…. Specifically with a certain RiverClan kitty….

Bumblestripe x Cherryfall - I’m not sure the likelihood of the Erin’s having Bumble move on or even that he would even be a slightly decent mate but it’s a possibility I guess.

Stormcloud x Cherryfall - the way Cherrytail acted in Thunder makes me think that her getting with a non-ThunderClan born cat is uncharacteristic but I can still see the Erin’s doing it.

Four Ships

So I try to be balanced in all things but, most of my ships, I’m either all in or all out once they don’t happen, lol. I cannot say I have a Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons ride or die ship, unfortunately (the farmer and my wifey, Popuri). But bring back rival marriage, damn it.

It’ll be tough to dwindle it to four, honestly, I have a lot of genres I enjoy.

Zelda/Link (Legend of Zelda): Yea, I know, BASIC, but man--the fact that their destinies bring them together through even like ancestry. That type of gig is my jam.

Takeru “T.K”/Hikari “Kari” (Digimon): This one...this is the ‘you just had to be there’ era. The wars between Dakari and Takari fans were the things of legend. People had WHOLE SITES dedicated to this and would list the reasons why one coupling worked and why the other wouldn’t--it’s epically crazy to even think about. Alas, Takari...before I got deeply involved in my long-ass Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons, I was writing a series for them that kind of shaped how I wrote for Legacy. I don’t instantly go for the ‘old friends’ relationships but I loved them together and, while I thought I got ‘meh’, I was excited to see all the small hints in what I did watch of Tri.

Tommy/Kimberly (Power Rangers): It’s so silly to even talk about but it’s so funny since I can’t deny this is my first ship--imagine it’s 1994, I’m four-years-old, in kindergarten, with no grasp on anything remotely...and these two were my ride or die.  I was six and PISSED they replaced Kimberly with Kat. I’ll even roll my eyes now that they suggest those two married and have kids. RIP Jason David Frank.

Jay Halstead/Erin Lindsay (Chicago PD): See the trend? None of my ships work out! But this is probably the only modern one i have, lol. These two though, I just loved how they worked together and had each other’s back. I think it’s super tragic how both of their story lines ended given how strong their histories were but that’s how live-actions have to go, I reckon.

Look, I’m too indecisive to not have honorable mentions. Lmao i feel like a big problem with warriors is that main characters are often the children or kin of prev main characters...

And the erins only really take notice of side characters that are also kin of prev main characters!

So when they come up with ships they always accidentally choose two cats that r related just bec their kin are recognizable!

Ex: ivypool x Fernsong : of course they chose a lionblaze kit, thats a recognizable character! But oopsies they forgot that the whole point to Ivy and Dove is that they r related to Lion and Jay!!

A lot of main characters are related at this point so now there's just soooo many chances at main character incest 💀

linstead appreciation week 2017 ⇾ day one

Fandoms can be the best place but they can also be the worst. I’ve learnt that during all my years of being a fan, having otps and being online in general. There are some fandoms that are smaller, quieter and there are other who are big, loud and sometimes toxic. I’ve watched Chicago PD since the beginning. But I’ve always been a passive fan online, I’ve read a fic or two, watched a fanvid, reblogged some gifsets, nothing much. 

But let me tell you, I loved Linstead. I loved them, adored them, supported them. I loved both Jay and Erin indicidually. I rooted for them. I wanted them to make it. Being an adult I also saw the problems and issues they had, together and individually. But I was hoping they would overcome it and come out on top in the end. They worked well together, they are both beautiful and I’ve loved Sophia forever. But then Sophia left the show. And left me heartbroken. And I wasn’t happy with how they wrote her exit at all. Especially how they dealt with Linstead.

When Hailey partnered with Jay I just hoped they wouldn’t go down the same way, them hooking up at one point and getting together. I wanted them to be partners and stay partners and friends only. Because I didn’t want for Hailey to kind of somehow replace Erin.

But then the episodes kept airing and I kept watching and I really started to enjoy their partnership. I loved how they supported each other, how they challenged one another and how they pushed each other to deal with their shit and be better. 

Then they became best friends, they always talked about things, they were there for one another and yes, of course I saw the sparks. Because there was this connection, this understanding, this respect. I know they aren’t all there yet, especially Hailey but the important thing is they are getting there. They are good for each other.

And yes, I started shipping them hard before they even got together. Because finally a healthy ship, a good ship, one that made sense, that came naturally and that was well written and well developed. It wasn’t rushed at all, it happened slowly and gradually. I love how they love each other.

And when season 8 finally happened and they got together, I was so happy. Upstead is different than Linstead, in my opinion it’s heathier and better at this point. I am not saying Linstead wouldn’t get to this point, maybe they would have, I know I would have been rooting for them, but Erin left, she left badly and hurt Jay. And it took Jay a long time to get over that and to get better. And with the way everything happened and how the story progressed Upstead makes perfect sense. I am happy for them, I am rooting for them, I think they are endgame. They are good, they are healthy, they are in love and they love. 

Of course there are going to be issues, there always are but I think they will deal with them and they will overcome them. Because that is what they do. Erin was a part of Jay’s life and she will always be important in a way, but that is it. It is over and it has been over for a long time. And during all this time, Hailey has been here. 

I don’t even know anymore what I want to say with this post to be honest. But as someone who is approximately their age, I can see and recognize Upstead as a healthy ship, a good ship. I love them, I am rooting for them, I support them. I am here for all of it. 

And I just want this ship hate to end. You don’t have to ship it if you don’t want to but come on, be a better person and don’t hate. You can have an opinion, of course you can, but enough with all the hate and drama. If it is too much for you, don’t watch. And I don’t mean that in a disrespectful way but all this hate (especially towards Jesse and Tracy) it’s just awful. It’s mean and it’s hurtful. 

Ship who you want to ship but be kind. I know it hurts (I’m a Klaroline and Bellarke shipper, I want to cry on a daily basis) but you can always have fanon if canon doesn’t work for you. Agree to disagree but this world needs more sunshine, more positivity, more support.

So after A LOT of binge-watching and a little avoidance of reaching the end of season 4, tonight I finally watched season 4 episode 23 closely followed by season 5 episode 1, and I guess you could say my heart is broken? (All you OG Chicago pd / Linstead fans I FEEL your pain now, like I get it, my heart HURTS).

I think I was so apprehensive to watch these episodes until now because I’ve seen gifs & clips & obviously knew about Sophia leaving (still not over this but SO happy she’s happier now!!). But I gotta say that watching them, especially one after the other, KNOWING how it was gonna go down & seeing Jay so quietly distraught, seriously left me with like this sinking feeling in my stomach? And I swear to god I don’t know how it happened, but I am SO attached to these characters & this show now and I just😩😭.

But, BUT! Then there’s the addition of Hailey to the unit, which is something I’ve been dying to see because the first time I really started getting into Chicago pd was because I somehow ended up watching a couple of season 7 eps after being intrigued by the replays of old law & order svu / Chicago pd crossovers from a couple of years back. And I’ve kinda felt myself starting to get attached to her the way I did to Erin, the more I watch fan edits & clips etc.

So now I’m torn, so completely TORN because I miss Linstead & they will forever have a piece of my heart, but I’m also SO EXCITED to finally see the beginnings & growth of upstead.

Basically I just can’t tonight okay? Tonight has literally been like an emotional rollercoaster, it’s ridiculous😂.

But on the bright side I’ve even got my mom interested / slightly invested in Chicago pd now. She’s currently diehard Linstead (I mean me too, but what’s new?😂) so ima have to try and get her to accept that Hailey’s good for Jay too and eventually she’ll love upstead as much as me😂.

Okay seriously, I’m done with the rants / spams for the night now. I need sleep😂.
