For day 6 of Crittertember its fav platonic ship. For me it is Dogday and Bubba. I don't know really. Since the very start I always saw Bubba as Dogday's bestie. Mostly due to him being the leader and Bubba the smart guy. When going over PPT chapter 3, I found myself thinking about how the dynamics of the critters would work. At no point did I ever see Catnap as a friend to anyone, at least not at the time. So I thought maybe Dogday's best friend was either gonna be Hoppy or Bubba. I picked Bubba for his differences and how a leader character would find value in an intelligent character. And it also would enhance the tragedy since Bubba died first (according to most theories at least), leaving Dogday without his reliable second in command.

They totally respect each other's strengths and have enough in common to bond over shared interests. In this case they both love the outdoors. As you can see from this pic of them as babbis chasing butterflies. Hiking, fishing, bug collections. I decided Bubba is a happy outdoor boi along with Dogday, though maybe not a sporty type (even though I have an unfinished picture of him playing soccer...). It's just Dogday is the type to jump off a cliff into the lake far below. Bubba won't go that far. For Bubba it is also likely for scientific pursuits. Where as Dogday just wants to chase things. And smell the cool nature smells.

I also have a second favorite platonic ship. Although I guess its more a tie. If you have followed this blog for a while you probably know what it is.

Bobby and Crafty of course! I think their personalities would gel together perfectly. I almost can't explain it. In my mind its just a big "duh". I guess it is because Crafty reminds me of a childhood friend.

We drew a lot together, mostly fanart, and nerded out about shows/ cartoons we both liked. Bobby would always be cheering for Crafty's artistic pursuits and Crafty always wants her best friend to just...be happy! They would do everything together and maybe even read each other's secret diaries!

Also I say Crafty reminds me of a friend. I have to keep in mind Crafty tried to kill someone for "red paint". I don't think my friendship was that volatile lol. But yeah. I don't think the Smiling Cs are fully characters. They are concepts that us fans project our desires onto. It can vary wildly from fan to fan.

Onward to day 7. I'm nervous because I'm trying to write out why I like my otp. Hopefully people understand it.

going out on a limb just to say the oil lamp girl gifted Neve this ornate lockpick, so they could sneak into restricted libraries/steal books to study together. Then she left and Neve keeps it because sentiment is a funny thing.

Obviously my grandmother's green pendant is still my pride and joy, but this is my new favourite daily combo. The acorn is silver and very tiny; the oak leaf is (modern so no lead) pewter.

I've had both for ages. They remind me of an old fave ship.

Thinking about Raven curse Michael au again

Things happen similarly when it comes to post-BoM, Percy gets taken, Jake gets hurt trying to reign back Festus, etc.

TLH trio arrive, Leo gets shown to his cabin by Will still, but raven Michael is in cabin 9 keeping an eye on Jake(who still struggling from grief and stress post bom)

Jake still does the whole "I'm your head counselor... for now" line but immediately gets pecked by Michael who's not having his boyfriend talk like that hdgd

He thought he was gonna lose him already, he's not in the mood for that.

Leo's just like ????, why Will's completely unfazed.

"Who's the bird???"

"My brother."

"What?"

"Long story- let's just keep going."

With specifically Raven Prince au, I like to imagine even in human form Michael has places with feathers still he has to hide. Like on his arms and such. Or markings on his back and arms.

Jake's a new blacksmith at the castle who is curious why he never sees the prince during the day, but manages to run into him at night and they end up having a small chat. Jake still doesn't know about the curse, but finds himself liking the prince. Who isn't too stiff about honoraries and such.

One day Michael gets hurt by a hunter or some jerk knight why in raven form and gets found by Jake.

Why Jake isn't an export healer, he tends to Michael as much as he can. Still not knowing it's the prince.

Michael's have multiple late night conversations with Jake by this point, so he trusts him, yet he's also unsure how to feel being held by Jake in his raven form. He's very flustered. Which is new.

When Jake does find out, he's even more flustered. Apologizing immediately to Michael who's just like "my dude?? How you supposed to know??"

Michael ends up hanging around Jake during the day,since he trusts him.

Also. Alternate idea. Three head Apollo kids being fae princes who get turned to animals to protect them from hunters. They each wear an pendant that is taken off by someone else without force let's them turn back.

Michael a raven, Will a mouse, and Lee a swan or wolf

Similar situation to above, but Michael doesn't turn back at night, so he ends up staying with Jake why healing. Worrying about his siblings but being unable to fly. Jake just doing his best to take care of him. He knows nothing of the tales/rumors about the brothers, so he's curious about the pendant but doesn't push.

After awhile when Michael is fully healed, he nudges Jake to show him where to take off the pendant and ends turns to his regular form.

Jake's just completely confused and flustered cause there's a fae now in front of him. A very cute fae-

Sarah Phillips will fiddle/fidget when she's deep in thought, and if she's thinking about certain people, she'll fidget with certain things in particular.

Most obviously, she'll fiddle with her necklace when she's thinking about James. Flipping it around the chain when she is worried about him, like if he's not back home when he said he'd be. If Sarah is twisting it back and forth between her fingers, she's annoyed because of something he did. If she's gently rubbing the pendant with her thumb in middle finger, she misses him. When Sarah was in England, her mother saw her messing with her locket like that most when her daughter was by herself.

When Sarah taps her feet in a little rhythm, she wishes Henri was there. She can imagine how he would react, and how he'd lighten the mood, make everyone laugh a bit. Or she's hungry, which hunger is something she's grown to relate to Henri, as he's almost always hungry.

If Sarah is thinking of her mother, she'll often twirl the hair around her face, especially when she wishes her mother were there to make sense of the situation or to just sweep her hair from her face and put it where it belongs. Or Sarah will spin her quill between her fingers, trying to commit whatever is going on around her to memory as her mother would love to hear it.

When thinking of Moses, Sarah will mess with her skirt. She'll wrap a bit of the fabric around her finger when she misses him, or wishes he was there to talk her down and help things make sense. If she's bunching her skirt in her fists, something is reminding her of Moses and Cato, and how Moses looked at his brother with so much heartbreak in his eyes. How he'd stay calm in the face of atrocities when he has every right to be enraged, how he doesn't want her to be enraged on his behalf("It won't change anything they do, Sarah.")

She could be thinking about anything or anyone if she's messing with her ponytail or the end of her braid(Sarah had to have braided her hair a lot. I know dic animation never changed character models unless they had to, but still). Sometimes it's her dad, cousin Tom, Abigail Adams, Udney, Arnold before his betrayal, Dr. Franklin, Molly from the women's camp. It could be anyone she grew close to in the war, honestly.

Very few people know that Sarah's thinking about certain people based on what she's messing with. The person who'd know most of them would be Henri, as he's the person that she spends most time with in the liberty's kids timeline. He mostly picks up on the big ones, like when Sarah misses her mom, or how she memorized the rhythm he played when getting the sheep to New York, which if Sarah wasn't one of the best people he had met before, she is now. The day he picked up on Sarah messing with her necklace = Sarah is thinking about James was rough. For her(I should just write that as a story). Sarah had to promise she would make Henri his favorite dinner for a week if he didn't tell James.

Speaking of whom, James would probably notice the different tells if the sight of his crush best friend and colleague staring softly into the distance while tenderly fiddling with the necklace he helped make for her that he'd never seen her part with since didn't make his brain shut down for a solid minute. At least.

I sent the email to cancel the order for the paperclip link chain. I've had too bad of an experience with Jewlr, and I realise I would feel better if I had the money back rather than to continue to wait for the item. If in the future I look into getting a paperclip link chain, I will probably do so by my usual methods: saving up and going into a physical store. If that means it costs more but I have a good experience, I am willing to accept that.
