Losing this thought as I type it but like, Spike is a fixer-upper in the "this old house" kind of way rather than a plastic surgery "fixing God's mistakes" kind of way. (?)

Like he wasn't all wrong from the start but boy was he made to feel that way. So he let himself be renovated. By Dru, by Angel, by the society he escaped from. All that paint over his woodwork.

And I don't think Buffy ment to do a restoration of Spike. I think it was more she saw a corner of the ugly paint job peeling and just couldn't resist picking at it like a scab. And before you know it we have a "honey? Did you know there's wood floor under all this?"

I’m currently thinking about it since I’ve been feeling pretty tired ( barely got any rest yesterday night and had a bunch of stressful things to take care of today ) , and imagining to have Jaw Bone next to me right now is honestly really helping me find some peace after so many hours of being all anxious and agitated : 

I can picture him wrapping his arms around me , his usually grumpy expression softening as he watches me fall into a much needed slumber … 

“Sleep well , babe … if anyone wants to bother you they’ll have to get through me first , and lemme tell ya … they wouldn’t stand a chance .”

The Little Prince AU makes me feel all sorts of things, like how Donnie's eating disorder would likely be noticed by ever-perceptive Leo, but given the lack of a close twin relationship in this AU he probably wouldn't directly try to help besides the offer of food...

#there's something about the way his gaze immediately goes to her in the first gif#and then he gives her practical advice to keep herself distracted from her fear#idk i just love that in the first few episodes when lucy's still easily spooked lockwood doesn't really judge the fear#it's the whole 'normal never fixed anything' thing#he knows how talented she is and he doesn't shame her for the strengths she doesn't have#just leans into her strengths and tries to figure out how to work with her weaknesses and help her work on them#the look on her face as he's talking--like he's offering a lifeline and she's eagerly taking it#also: the way he keeps his eyes on her as he walks past for just a little longer than makes sense  lovely tags from OP @pearlcaddy
