I want to say that the hack checks they have at say, VGC events are bad. But in the past they’ve been able to tell things like if two people had the exact same Pokemon (albeit this was back in 2009 where people got DQ’d for that) and I’m sure they’re aware of the mechanics on how a Pokemon is generated and cross-checking the RNG with the time the Pokemon was obtained among other smaller details like IVs, shininess etc.

Yeah, I'm painfully aware of how bad they are at picking apart genned or edited pokemon. That's what I meant when I said many other game companies are more vigilant, because Nintendo's only reason not to strike against hackers more harshly is that they for some reason don't want to. Maybe they want to invest their resources on other things more, but especially in Sun&Moon the need to put a stop to hacks has been rising up more than before.
