summary: in which shinonome rin often chases after her captain in terms of success and skills, and the one time she's few steps ahead of him.

Shinonome Rin is a ferocious woman, a force to be reckoned and a respectable platoon leader.

Aware of herself and her skill sets, she always strives for higher, better, placing her division captain at the center of this- a placeholder. Merely a milestone she needs to catch up to and surpass.

Things begin to shift when there has been… recent changes to the division’s environment. Now his attention stolen by your pretty self- Shinonome thinks that two can play, she just needs to up her game.

One particular day Narumi is giddy, on cloud nine and happy. even Hasegawa is surprised by the captain's odd behavior and lack of search for chaos and to get on someone's nerves.

It's quite simple actually, after months of tailing and chasing and begging, sweet talks, smiles and one too many instances of making a joke out of himself, you have agreed on a proper date with him. Even flirted back! Playful, witty and cute, Narumi keeps taking out his phone to check the time and for any possible message you might send as to give hints regarding tomorrow's date.

late into the night, he is jolted by the notification sound set for you- running to grab his phone and hurriedly opening his messages.

an image sent by you, he opens with shaking hands, what could you be doing at such an hour to take a photo and send him... the possibilities have his tongue running dry--

his eyes land on a photo of you- your neck and part of your chest to be specific. litered in marks of reds and purples, teeth marks, crescent marks left in the wake of nails digging into your skin.

then another photo comes in, your face more in the clear now and absolutely fucked out from the looks of it. mouth slightly open ajar, drool coming down the corner of your lips, eyes closed shut and in the corner, when Narumi looks real carefully he can spot a pair of eyes, a hint of black and a streak of cyan.

another ding from his phone breaks the silence in his room and the message goes: "sorry. they won't be making it to your little date tomorrow"

❥ Akito

- you two usually have a set time everyday where you call and tell everything about each other's day, especially during the weekends as Akito usually performs at his gigs so he's pretty busy.

- so when you don't pick up this time no matter how much he called, he starts to get worried. but again, it was saturday so you may be out with your friends or family so he shrugged it off. just messaging and updating you.

- though when sunday comes, you still won't answer his calls! though he’d refuse to admit it, he's starting to get incredibly worried.

- after a few minutes of contemplating, he decides to pay you a little visit. he knew your parents were off for work, adding to his worries.

- good thing he has a spare key, he slowly opens the front door. no one was there, the lights weren't even on. he decided to go upstairs, to your bedroom.

- and behold, there you were—completely wrapped up in a fuzzy blanket with the air conditioning on. that was when he realized, you’ve been asleep for practically two days. you were basically hibernating.

- he mentally curses himself for not remembering, but hey. this was the perfect opportunity for cuddles! (he’ll deny that he likes cuddles in public)

❥ Rui

- oftentimes he rants to you about how his shows went and such, and today was no different. you two were seated beside each other at a cafe near the theme park since he’d just finished a play.

- once you two get your orders, he starts rambling. it could range from choreography mistakes to machine malfunctions, you get it.

- it doesn't take long for him to realize you aren't listening to him anymore as you start subconsciously laying your head on his shoulder.

- “fufu~” he chuckles quietly, making sure you were comfortable. he looks over to the pile of food and thinks about how he's going to finish this all by himself..he secretly hopes you'll wake up soon..

❥ Toya

- toya, being the academic achiever he is, offered to tutor you after school at his home. you weren't really given a choice anyways, he couldn't let his other half fail after all.

- today wasn't an exception, the same place at the same time. only this time, he was teaching you an unbearably boring subject.

- it didn't help that you were incredibly sleepy either, a few minutes of yawning, rubbing your eyes and uncomfortably shifting yourself around his bed. you fall dead asleep.

- and that wasn't an understatement. you fell on your back, and started snoring lightly.

- at first, toya thought you fainted and started choking on your spit or something. only calming down when he realized you simply just fell asleep.

- he places the textbook down and tuck you in, with a forehead kiss of course! he’ll make you some food for when you wake up! or maybe not..that isn't the best idea.

❥ Tsukasa

- you two have an agreement with each other, he performs a play for you to practice his acting skills and you give him proper feedback. seems easy enough, right?

- well it was, but not today. yes, you usually felt sleepy–it wasn't anything new to you. however, this time it was different. you just wanted to jump into bed and doze off, but that was disturbed when your boyfriend started his act.

- you tried to persevere through the incredibly long performance (it was only like 15 minutes), yet your body had a mind of it's own and decided to let you rest.

- tsukasa almost screamed like a little girl when he saw you fall asleep because he thought you died from..natural causes or something..

- so you could only feel the huge sigh of relief when he grasps that you just fell asleep. he takes off his costume, tosses them aside and snuggles up beside you.

- a star like him needs his beauty sleep as well after all..

first thing he's reminded of is kohane, actually. from before she joined vbs, of course.

definitely teases you about it, then explains to the person that you're just shy like that. if they make a bad comment about you, expect akito to defend you! he's not going to let someone insult his s/o, no way.

akito does want you to try and open up more, though. he knows it's hard—after all, kohane used to act similarly—but you do need to work on. don't worry about it, he'll be there every step of the way.

if you end up overcoming it, he won't ever let you live it down. in a lighthearted way! he'll remind you of how shy you were before, how you'd always hide behind him in those situations... it's all to see your adorable red and annoyed face.

★ aoyagi toya :

similar to akito, he is also reminded by his unitmate. that's inevitable.

toya is a rather quiet lover, but he will tell the person that you're shy when suddenly approached like that. he lets you hide behind his back as he talks to whoever it is, then relaying the message to you.

still, he worries for you. what if he isn't available and you get randomly approached? he'll try to help you overcome it, mainly by introducing you to his other friends.

overall, even if he is calm and usually silent, toya tries his best for you. he doesn't want you to feel uncomfortable, so he'll help you until you feel confident enough to do it!

★ kamishiro rui :

considering his childhood friend is nene, he's not fazed by your shyness at all! nene acted in a similar way, so he knows how to help you in these situations.

another one who would defend you in certain scenarios, we all know what he said to tsukasa.

rui would also build a robot for you, like with nenerobo. probably not a big one, though. maybe just a simple little bot that you can easily carry around, and it can speak for you? whatever you prefer, your boyfriend is already making plans on it!
