Yako and Godai are fashion besties okay, i dont take criticism. Godai still cant find it in himself to get rid of this shirt though
Neuro doesnt understand why people care so much about clothing, but he realized its a fun way to mess with people (akane helps him pick out clothes because he doesnt respect yako or godai’s opinions)

Why green screen CGI in Marvel movies made me uncomfortable, but the one in King-Ohger did not?
Was Gira removed from the castle during the wrath of gods’ disaster?
Himeno lost her parents and Gira went missing.
What happened to the other countries’ royalties during that incident?
Was N’Kosopa not ruled by royal bloodline had something to do with this too?
Perhaps, Gira’s disappearance 15 years ago was to protect him from the people who killed Himeno’s parents?
Hastie’s bodyguard was the only sane one.
Kaguragi’s behaviour reminded me of someone who pretended to be harmless in order to seek revenge.
Kaguragi not going to pull Isurugi Soichi, right?
Is Hastie channelling Katsuragi Shinobu?
The mysteries and subtleties in this season was really nice.
The moment he fell down the cliff, I knew he was going to be fine.
Did Hopper just pulled a drop kick?

International Women’s Day - Pay Attention to the Magademy Award Female Nominees
I haven’t really talked about this, but last year, a Japanese digital bookstore called BookLive started a cool yearly awards event held in March called the Magademy Awards. They nominate a good number of noteworthy male and female manga characters in leading and supporting roles from a wide variety of series.
For International Women’s Day today, I hope manga readers pay attention to the female side because they certainly are more interesting than most of the mainstream female anime characters that are often labeled as “best girl” types.
I’ll start with the 2021 female nominees and the winners (listed in bold) for the two categories.
Best Leading Actress 2021
Tumblr media
Hayame Katsuragi (Promise Cinderella) - From what I heard, she’s a very cool character who really is righteous even after going through some rough circumstances. Yoi Takiguchi (In The Clear Moonlight Dusk) - A standout female character from one of shojo’s hottest artists, Mika Yamamori. Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey's End) - One of my favorite heroines of the past decade. Mao Mao (The Apothecary Diaries: The Palace Cloister Mystery-Solving Notebook of Mao Mao) - I’ll be reading this series soon. Yona (Yona of The Dawn) - The winner of the award and I know she’s so beloved by fans of the anime and manga.
Best Supporting Actress 2021
Tumblr media
Yoko Sato (The Fable) - An absolute badass. I love that she cares about getting men interested in her drunk beyond belief. Yua Takahashi (Tomorrow I Will Be Someone's Girlfriend) - This is a shojo I’m very interested in reading given the critical reception I heard about this series. Shinobu Wakamiya (Chihayafuru) - The winner of the award and she has a unique look to go along with her determined personality.
And now here are the 2022 nominees in the female character categories.
Best Leading Actress 2022
Tumblr media
Mitsumi Iwakura (Skip and Loafer) - On my to-read list after hearing what a lovable and endearing dork she is from manga bloggers/reviewers.  Marin Kitagawa (My Dress-Up Darling) - She’s a very well-written character and her facial expressions are amazing. Hitori Goto (BOCCHI THE ROCK!) - She’s become quite the internet darling, but I feel that she truly speaks for a generation of introverts who are trying their best. Mao Mao (The Apothecary Diaries) - She might win the award this time. Inori Yuitsuka (Medalist) - I know a certain manga blogger who has been raving about this series.
Best Supporting Actress 2022 (will update this section with the winner once they’re announced)
Tumblr media
Ai Haibara (Case Closed) - I know there are Detective Conan fans who are excited about this. Fern (Frieren: Beyond Journey's End) - The perfect sidekick for Frieren. Raika (Don't Call it Mystery) - I’m really glad the manga got licensed in the U.S., so I can get to learn about characters like her.
I hope more fans learn more about the Magademy award ceremony for years to come (if they can continue) because there’s a good mix of past, present, and future female characters that will tackle anyone’s fancy. There’s definitely great female characters in mainstream anime, but manga offers a more diverse variety of female characters who have amazing stories worth reading over and can’t always easily be told in anime or live-action.
Let’s definitely give an award to a Japanese bookstore that seems to know and award good taste in female characters.

Setsuko Shinobu in Street Without End (Mikio Naruse, 1934)
Cast: Setsuko Shinobu, Akio Isono, Hikaru Yamanouchi, Nobuko Wakaba, Ayako Katsuragi, Shin'ichi Himori, Chiyoko Katori, Ichiro Yuki. Screenplay: Jitsuzo Ikeda, Komatsu Kitamura. Cinematography: Suketaro Inokai. Set designer: Jokichi Shu.
The titular street of Street Without End is located in the bustling Ginza district of Tokyo, where Sugiko (Setsuko Shinobu) works as a waitress. One of the most fascinating elements of Mikio Naruse's film is its documentation of the Ginza, now famous as a teeming, neon-lighted network of streets, in the 1930s, images of which constitute both the beginning and the end of the film. In between these shots of the crowded streets, we follow Sugiko's story as she almost marries the man she loves, almost becomes a movie star, loses her first love and her chance at stardom when she's struck by a car, marries the wealthy driver of the car, and suffers from the class snobbery of her sister- and mother-in-law. By the end of the film, she's back working as a waitress. A classic "woman's picture" melodrama, it was made in service of Naruse's concern about the weight of tradition and history that burdens the lives of Japan's women. It was Naruse's last silent film, and you can see him striving toward sound, which was late coming to the Japanese film industry. It is, for example, almost too chopped up by intertitles, as if Naruse were longing for audible dialogue. But Naruse surrounds his heroine with a gallery of well-drawn characters, overcoming the limitations of silent melodrama by making the people in it believable.

One thing I do like about the MTNN anime is the strong brother and sister vibe Godai and Yako have.
Since Godai isn't off handling Mochizuki in the anime, he tends to be more present (not here to talk crap about the anime this time). He gets a little more time to bounce back and forth with Yako because of this, I think.
It's implied that Godai doesn't have any family at this point in his life and Yako's father is recently dead plus her mother seems to be out on business trips(?) quite frequently, so seeing them go back and forth like siblings makes my heart warm.
