Tumblr funnyperson dash simulator 😁
User marked as green on shinigami eyes 1: trans women keep making these obviously sexual jokes and then get surprised when they get called out for it
User marked as green on shinigami eyes 2: it's insane that some trans men have the courage to even imply they could ever possibly be in pain
User marked as green on shinigami eyes 3: yeah normal nonbinary people are "valid" or whatever but so many want to use pronouns I don't agree they should use
User marked as green on shinigami eyes 4: aromantic and asexual people should all kill themselves

this is unrelated to my last post but can u guys seriously stop using shinigamieyes for discourse?? like actually, if you're one of the ppl out here marking ppl based on whether or not they support lesboys or are an inclus or anything like that, stop. you are misusing the extension and you suck, no matter what side you are on.
shinigamieyes is for keeping trans people safe. it's not for you to be petty and mark someone bc of their opinion on contradictory labels or something. fucking stop.

this post is so bad my jaw actually dropped. like. yes being trans and going thru the wrong puberty is often incredibly traumatic. that is not the same as the intentional and widespread medical abuse against intersex people (especially children). irreversible medically unnecessary often physically harmful and psychologically harmful+traumatizing hormone treatment and surgeries are not the same as having to go through natal puberty, which is also often traumatizing, but it is different. and you know damn well that is not what intersex people are talking about when they talk about forced medical intervention and abuse. it is not the same thing at all. & this is such an obviously intentional misinterpretation of what intersex activists have been talking about.

yeah, i just looked it up, its great for both spotting anti-trans but also just general anti LGBTQIA+ people. so use for gods sake
More people need to add the shinigami eyes attachment on their desktop browser. I know a large chunk of this website's users use primarily the mobile app, but please please please on occasion log in on desktop with shinigami eyes enabled because I see it so often where people on my dash who are trans or are allies unknowingly reblog things where somewhere in the reblog chain (or even the OP) there's a user highlighted red by shinigami eyes. I don't blame people one bit for that because yeah, they were probably on mobile and had no idea and can't be expected to closely vet every username in a reblog chain by clicking through those blogs. But yeah even if you only really use mobile tumblr, you should still log in on desktop every now and then and just scroll through your blog(s) to check for any red-highlighted users or links

Thinking about an AU where there is no Death Note Light literally just develops the ability to causes heart attacks through knowing someone's name and face and having enough active malice towards them that their heart just explodes. Thinking about how he'd be in denial about it for longer. Thinking about how he'd go even more insane with his God Complex. Thinking about Ryuk just being the first person to find out about it because he watched Light glare super hard at Shibamaru Takuo right before the guy collapsed convulsing on the ground and died. Thinking about Ryuk IMMEDIATELY tagging along for the fun of it and shoving his way into being Light's best friend within fifteen minutes of this discovery. Thinking about Light killing people on accident because his powers are now emotion-based. Thinking about Light blasting rage music through his headphones so he can kill multiple people at once. Thinking about L feeling his heart stutter in his chest so often around Light that he's convinced he has feelings for him but it's really just Light's power knocking at his ribcage because he only has half of L's name. Thinking about—

if odysseus wanted have a good time sleeping around (or rather, if that's what the poet(s) wanted), he could simply do that. it's not like a male epic hero needed an excuse. what's unusual in the calypso situation is not that odysseus is sleeping with someone other than his wife; it's that the narrator affirms his unwillingness and misery.
and on the one hand, calypso is a misogynistic fantasy/nightmare in that she is a woman who can own a man in sexual slavery, which men in the world of the odyssey and of its composition do to women as a matter of course. on the other hand, she isn't a very common fantasy, is she? how often do you see a man held captive and raped in ancient literature?
or in contemporary literature, for that matter. i've had the 2013 article "the rape of james bond" saved to read for awhile (like... for a few months. not since 2013), which addresses more than the scope of this tumblr.edu post. but the author jumps off from the claim that constant sexual violence in fiction is needed for realism. she questions whether that is true in the way that it is often meant — e.g., whether the prevalence of rape in game of thrones is "realistic" to the middle ages — but she does argue that "sometimes, failing to acknowledge the risk of rape in circumstances where it would be particularly likely to be present can diminish the authenticity of a text."
[I]n so called Genre fiction, we love to strip away protection from our characters to give them an interesting job of coping on their own; parents are dead or absent or abusive, homesteads are burned down, authority figures are blinkered or oppressive; you can trust no one, for no one can hear you scream… And all these things will, in the real world, heighten a person’s vulnerability to all forms of violence, including sexual violence. So yes, realism does sometimes mean dealing with that vulnerability somehow or other. But that heightened vulnerability to sexual violence applies to men too. So where are they, all the raped male characters? People say, it would be unrealistic if she wasn’t raped, but take it for granted that of course he wasn’t. Why is that?
and yet here's the odyssey, one of the oldest extant pieces of literature, and we can't take it for granted, actually, that the pervasive threat of sexual violence in odysseus' world will never touch him.
the homeric epics include many, many enslaved people (of all genders) subject to implied rape (usually of women), and i won't pretend that's treated with the gravity it deserves. but the way calypso and odysseus are often dismissed makes me wonder if we're still not prepared for a specific kind of discomfort, rooted in the messaging we often get from fiction and society — though it does not reflect the reality of the lived experience of many people — that rape is always and only realistic when women go through it, because rape is what women and women uniquely are for.

Just saw a Tumblr user marked as green on shinigami eyes say that trans women who aren't exactly like her should be abused to the point of changing radically like she did, and when another trans woman told her to please stop saying that and that it was extremely hurtful, she started gaslighting her saying that she should have real problems to think about rather than someone threatening to abuse her.
We need to have a serious discussion about how terrible shinigami eyes actually is at marking people as green.
