Levi looks back at you surprised, "and you didn't wake me up?"

"No, Lev. You were sleeping, you are tired."

His hand moving to your hips trying to push you closer, "well... We can arrange that now" only to get his hands pulled down.

"I'm not in the mood now. I was last night,"

"Really? It's been less than 8 hours,"

"Well, I was last night and I'm not now. Plus I have a lot to do," you explained.

"Then wake me up, next time," he said.

"I'm not waking you up. You barely sleep!"

"Yeah, exactly. I could have faced today's meetings with only the three hours I sleep and feeling like shit. Or faced today's meetings with no sleep but 3 hours of fucking you in my desk. I choose the fucking" Levi explained as if it was plain logic.

"Don't be silly, haha"

"I am not. You wake me up, I always choose that option,"

The only 2 times that Levi raised his voice at another person to get his point across to the other party. (Sidetrack: he didnt even do that to Zeke when he was chiding him)

Now, you can see that his sudden burst of anger caught both Isabel and Hange by surprise.

Although the words he had used can be interpreted by a third party as heartless, but we all know that he hides his kindness deeply and does not like to be described as such.

So, he is really worried about the safety of Isabel and Furlan, and not thinking that their skills are subpar or that they are a liability.

And if he is truly angry with Hange playing with the lives of soldiers, the first thing he would have done is to grab her by the collar and give her a throw, like what he did. But Hange is still in her crazy mode and blabbering about the loss of the titan (aka unaware of the dangers around her), that he had to remind her of her own safety, of course after ensuring that his blades are clean and that Oruo is ok.

And there are many times, esp in the Smartpass short stories, where Levi is reminded of, and being horrified by the dangers Hange put herself on whenever she gets engrossed in her crazy mode. (Shelter from the rain, Dusty Library, Raid of the Section Commander's office etc. Probably more, got to read again)

Of course things took a turn when Hange's curiosity led them to discover Ilse's remains and notebook. And the look Levi gave when Hange (yet again) took the first step to investigate the remains in the treehole, basically is a look of "....I should not have...." aka guilt.

The deeper the care towards the other person, the stronger the emotion being expressed out. 🙂‍↕️

Y/N gasped, scooping up the cat and covering his ears. "Don't say that to him! He might develop self-esteem issues."

Levi rolled his eyes. "It's a cat… an old cat. He's not going to develop anything."

"Don't say that to our child!" she insisted.

"Our?"

"I can't believe it," she huffed, turning away. "Men never take responsibility. I'm taking the baby!"

"Better for me."

Lying on his back, belly exposed like a fluffy white cloud, Clauws opened his mouth wide, trying to catch the stick Hange was swiping too fast for him to follow. After a few failed attempts, he just lay there, mouth open, pupils blown wide in confusion.

"Hehehe, he's a cutie," the commander chuckled, kneeling beside the cat.

"He's kinda stupid," Levi muttered again, watching the cat completely fail to catch the stick.

"Did you know that cats have the cognitive abilities of a two- to three-year-old toddler?"

A brief silence.

"Are you telling me I've been calling a three-year-old toddler fat, stupid, and adopted?"

"Why would you even say that to a cat?"

The fresh stink of fish from the kitchen filled Levi’s office as he squatted down next to the animal, scratching behind his ears while the cat purred, savoring the treat.

"Sorry, buddy…" Levi sighed. "You're fat and adopted, but I meant it nicely."He paused, rubbing the cat’s head. "If it makes you feel better, at least someone wanted you. I was just abandoned."
