I was wondering what does gifting 13 red roses mean and decided to google it. And this is what I got.

I just want to point out what Masta explained about the Japanese sentence of Hange's omikuji line, that it usually refers to a relationship between 2 very close people, with a potential to blossom romantically sooner or later, and there is no rush to grow the relationship for now.

And we know, Hange is usually the one that is everywhere while Levi is the one always stealing glances and focusing on her, whether it is in the manga, anime or official art/ game/ merch.

And Levi's "unrequited love", missing the timing because of his hesitation. All these adds up to the flavourful relationship of Levi and Hange.

This was supposed to be my own internal thoughts of how Isayama's latest information on Hange basically confirmed that Levi is the one that truly knows Hange on a very very deep and personal basis.

He knows she is always on the move and will not stay out of action. So it kind of confirmed for me that part of his speech to Hange in 126 is not just for the duties and responsibilities bound to the 2 of them, but also on a personal level of the deep relationship and understanding they share.

And then, as I rewatch the forest IFKK scene again (no idea how times I have rewatched that), there seems to be a parallel between the speech/ confession between Armin and Annie.

Not sure how accurate the translation is. But when I watched the Armin and Annie's scene, it kind of clicked to me how these 2 (Levihan and Aruani) handled their feelings and relationship in the midst of their roles and responsibilities and the calamity that the world is facing, are quite similar.

In my opinion, I just think that these 2 scenes depict the struggles of each pair, how they were to face the world if they even have to acknowledge the option of their own personal desires.

And Levi's speech sequence to Hange, is so supportive:

- If we run and hide....how are we going to face the world, dead comrades, our responsibilities, innocent lives lost etc etc.

- I see that you have made up your mind.... and fixing up the cart.

- I know you.... i know what you will choose.

- and I will follow you (this is implicit. Of course it is not just the Beast that is Levi's goal, it is like what Annie said, the world is being murdered and trampled on, and they cant be indulging in their own personal desires)

Ahhh... this explains why Hange was so affected by the discovery of Ilse's notebook and when she visited her parent. The level of depth and subtlety in how Isayama weave in such details.

This should all be taken with a grain of salt due to translation inaccuracies, but from what I can gather from the latest Q and A, all it says about Hange is that they are estranged from their family, she has some skill in housework but doesn't like to do it, and is the type to fly off somewhere then come home unexpectedly (akin to Eren apparently?).

Soooo basically all stuff we already learned from the character interview from years ago 🙄😒😮‍💨

Hange subtly digging at Levi and his cleaning hobby in Ilse's Notebook OVA

At first I thought she was talking about Levi and his squad stalking her when she returned Ilse's notebook to her parents.

Then I realised.

Because there are different subtitle translation, after checking with Google translate, I am inclined to understand her line as them having a new hobby of folllowing people (her).

And Levi and his squad were purchasing cleaning equipment when they encounter Hange. So, my Levihan lens is showing Hange roasting Levi for developing another hobby, other than cleaning, which is stalking people.

And we know that Hange's mood is likely to be down because while she knows what needs to be done to continue Ilse's effort, she does not have the power or authority to do so.

Moblit isnt even with her when she visited Ilse's parents. Likely he got yelled at by her when she left 😔

Now, I am guessing that after Hange submitted her official proposal to resume capturing a titan to Erwin and left to visit Ilse's parents, Levi probably met up with Erwin to support her case, or Erwin went to Levi to tell him to pass the message. In any case, Levi knew of the good news before he leave to go shopping with Petra and Oruo.

Many things could be happening, it might have been an intentional shopping trip to try to catch Hange, but I am sure that Levi will not say no to any chance to make Hange happy (even if it means supporting her unrequited love towards his rivals titans)

He is smirking to himself while Oruo and Petra got shocked by Hange's reaction. We know. 😏

This translation is so cute. I love how Hange's VA managed to tell Eren's VA directly that

"Genocide is wrong"

And how Park Romi explained the inner workings of Hange's mind, like the constant to and fro of her hypothesis and analysis and decisions.

I believe this is really how Hange "torture" her assistant, as Jean's VA can attest to in this short clip.

I was feeling a bit restless with my hands today and since I am doing some study on body gestures and perspective lately, I decided to dissect this panel.

There has been theories and even art depicting that hand as Levi's hand. So I tried to prove it and adjusted the arm to fit to Hange's shoulder. From the perspective wise, the original position (right side) did seem a bit awkward and the flow of the cape also didnt quite match to the thickness of the arm.

So, I am doing some research on Levihan smartpass short stories for a personal project and I am just loving rereading and revisiting the Dusty old library short stories. Translated text here and translated audio version.

I just cant get over the use of backside in the story. Ok, it could also mean the back side of someone, but I dont mind if it is Hange's ass poking out as she is rampaging the library.

And we all also know that at the end of that short story, Levi noticed that Hange's shirt is seeing through because it had been wet....

So, Eren is not the Levihan parents' first adopted child. They had been practising their parenting skills before they officially adopted the 104th.

And it is our dear Uncle Erwin

I really like the dynamics between Hange and Erwin, and how Erwin trusted Hange's investigation more than the MPs.

And then it is the classic Levihan banter. I got a bit lost with the Erwin being late and Hange saying about the "constipation" and "lowered". I used Google translate and even taking into context the statementa before and after that, I cant figure out she meant. I can only think that she is still referencing Levi's analogy of Erwin being late? I really dont know what she meant. Any expert translator can help to fill in the void?

And lastly, our parents making sure Uncle Erwin is well rested. (Hange is just being a brat in front of Erwin, as usual)

Today, I want to give tribute to the 3 Scouts that stayed loyal and true to our 14th Commander till the end.

No, it is not Jean, Connie, Armin or Mikasa.

They are the 3 Scouts that Hange had appointed to supply logistics and communication to Levi and Zeke when they are on the hotel stay in the Titan forest.

Now, it is quite surprising to me that none of the 104th was tasked to do this. It could be because the military is suspicious of Eren after he came back from Marley and hence the 104th are not privy to Zeke's location, or they are needed for some other tasks and Hange deemed that they do not need to know (the lesser people knowing, the safer they are). It does make sense to me because even Pixis does not know who are the 3 Scouts.

And why do I want to pay tribute to them. They did not betray Hange till the end and surrender to Floch with the information about Zeke's location.

One thing is that they likely did not consume the wine which was transported to Levi. Because if they had, the military and Yeagerist would have banded them and they would be tortured to spill the beans of Zeke's location.

So, I can conclude that the 3 of them stayed loyal to Hange. Were they dead? I think likely because at least 1 of them were at the forest, passing the message that Zackley was killed, when Zeke turned the 30 Scouts into Titans. The other 2 might likely be hidden by order of Pixis, probably with Historia, and they should be assumed to be safe with Historia even until after the Rumbling. One thing for sure is that:

- They are safe, except for the one who got killed in the Titan forest

- They did not betray Hange and turn in to Eren and the Yeagerist.

Right after Eren broke through the cell and met up with Floch, they got to the restaurant because they knew that only Hange (and likely some of the 104th) knew the location of Zeke. Hange had no choice but to lead them there.

I am sure she had put up a fight, because Eren also tried to get this information from Armin and Mikasa during his last talk with them.

Without the loyalty of these 3 Scouts, not giving in to the Yeagerists and betraying Hange, we would never see Hange having that opportunity to save Levi, and making her feelings known to him, and that forest scene in 126.
