Warnings: non-consensual neck grabbing from enemy nin, non-sexual subspace, panic attacks, hurt/comfort galore
Necks are sensitive and delicate areas, but this is extra true for omegas. Being grabbed near or on the neck spooks them on an instinctual level that can be difficult to settle.
So imagine your omega comes back from a mission with his eyes wide, tinged with a feral tinge. He's shaking a little, on edge and hypervigilant. There's a bruise on his neck that gives away what must have happened during his mission.
Rage bubbles up inside you at the thought of someone hurting him like that, touching him like that. You're tempted to hunt down the perpetrator and make them pay, threaten his teammates too, for letting this happen.
But you can't leave him. Not your omega, not now.
Neji:
And if you were angry, then Neji was furious.
"They just- I didn't- How dare-" he had furious tears in his eyes as he approached you. You didn't hesitate to wrap him in your embrace. He didn't embrace you back but instead tucked his arms between your chests like he was trying to fold himself into you. You held him tighter.
"Are they dead?"
Neji growled a horrible growl into your shoulder. You waited for him to finish, trying to encircle him even more in your arms to protect him from the world.
"Yes," he finally pushed out. He tried to force himself closer to you, although there was no more space to occupy.
"Good." You pressed a kiss to his head. "I've got you."
And that was all Neji needed to hear before the tears bubbled over.
Kakashi:
"Do you need your collar, baby?" you asked, gently holding his face in your hands. He had crashed to your feet the second he had walked through the door, and was now breathing harshly, his eyes cloudy with panic.
A whine violently ripped out of him. You weren't the only one who jumped at the sound, and Kakashi looked equally shocked that such a noise had escaped him.
"Okay, okay, hold still," you swallowed your rage and tried not to fumble as you fastened the familiar collar around his throat.
As soon as you were done, he collapsed forward onto your lap, and you spent the next hour gently stroking the skin around the collar until your Kakashi could come back to you.
Itachi:
"What happened?" you demanded, storming your way over to him, you hands flittering over the vibrant purple bruise.
Itachi blinked at you, as though he wasn't quite sure why you were behaving like this. You waited for his response, but none came. He just blinked at you again, his eyes suspiciously foggy.
You lowered your voice and tried to remove any anger from your voice, even though it was impossible to remove it from veins. "Itachi?"
"Alpha?" he asked, voice slightly slurred. "Please- please don't be angry."
"I'm not angry at you, darling." You stepped closer, watching him intently for signs of discomfort. Ever so gently, you ran you thumb on the underside of his jaw. He let out a shuddering sigh, but no more recognition seemed to emerge. "Why don't we get you all cleaned up and safe in your nest, does that sound good?"
His foggy eyes jumped to yours for the first time, and he immediately nodded. "Please."
Naruto:
"It's-It's not as bad as it looks," Naruto laughed, entirely at odds with the way his whole body was still shaking with adrenaline. "They just, caught me off guard, that's all."
The anger was buried under the heartbreak at his reaction. Did he think you would brush him off? Tell him to get over it? You wordlessly opened your arms to him, and for a second you caught the way his fake smile fell and his face screwed up with emotion before he collided with you and buried his face in your chest.
"I'm sorry," he sobbed. "I didn't mean to cry. I'm fine, I just-"
"You're just in my arms right now, and there is nothing in this world that would get me to let go of you, I promise."
Shikamaru:
"Mark me again, you have to- you have to bite me." His eyes were almost manic as he grabbed you and pushed you down onto the sofa before climbing on your lap. "Fuck! Please, you have to."
"Shikamaru!" You grabbed his face and tried to hold him still, but he wrenched it away in favour of shoving the juncture of his neck, bruised in blue and black, in front of your mouth. "Hold on a second-"
"No! They, they defiled it, you need to fix it!"
"It's going to hurt you-"
"I don't care! Just do it!"
Throwing caution to the wind, you indulged both him and your baseline instincts, still furious that someone had dared to touch his mating mark at all, let alone with such aggression. You sunk your teeth into his shoulder, over his previous mark, refreshing it in a small wave of red.
Shikamaru hissed at the pain, but as the endorphins flooded in, his eyes closed and he collapsed completely on top of you, breathing harshly. You lapped at the bite soothingly, and only then did some of the oppressive scent of manic omega clear from the air.

Library Kisses
a/n:I really wanted to write this idea with Baji in mind but I’ve rewrote it four different times and each time it comes out not good and the only person I can picture is Mikey so I’m giving into the Mikey brain rot okay?
now~ … part2 … part3 … part4 … part5
Manjiro Sano NEVER came to school, even more rarely class. If he did even bother to show up, it was usually to hang out on the roof for some cool air, or in the vending area for a nice nap with snacks nearby. No one could tell him where he needed to be, after all. And if they pushed too hard and annoyed him, he’d just leave.
That suddenly changed after he lost a serious bet with Emma and Shinichiro. The consequence? Attend all classes for Two Weeks.
Two weeks felt like forever, he admitted. The first day didn’t seem like it would be so bad, until he started actually paying attention to the teacher.
God, he thought. What a drag.
(Shikamaru—-?)
Manjiro was so far behind in studies, he had no idea half of what was being taught. So, before he let his temper rise, he simply stopped paying attention again.
This quickly became a problem.
Nothing interesting to keep his attention on, Mikey found himself falling into boredom. Irritation was bubbling yet again. Of corse, Mikey never brought anything with him. No paper, pencil, books, it was a random chance of luck that Emma was even able to find his school bag.
So with literally nothing to keep his attention, he started getting antsy. How long until this dumb lecture was over anyway? He glanced at the clock.
HOW IN THE HELL HAD ONLY 20 MINUTES PASSED?
He was absolutely flabbergasted. No way in Hell would he be able to handle this torture. Screw the bet, Emma and Shin could eat dirt for all Manjiro cared.
Yet…
…sss…” whispered a tiny sound.
Manjiro would have ignored it had he not been eager for something to get his attention. He shifted his gaze to the direction of the whisper: the cute classmate who sat beside him.
You.
Before he could wonder what or why you were trying to interact with him, he noticed you holding something out to him.
‘..the hell?’ He looked down at what you were gripping in your hands.
It was a notebook. A very basic and boring one, had you not doodled little flowers and vines into the cover.
Cute.
Accompanied with the notebook was both a pencil and pen, both neatly held tight to the notebook.
Mikey looked up to gander at your eyes, which looked rather worried, brows knitted together with a soft considerate smile. You made the effort of motioning to the gifts once more, before he unconsciously took it without much thought.
You seemed to be very pleased by his acceptance, your expression shifted to relief, then a friendly thumbs up before letting your focus run back to the instructor.
‘Why did i even take the book?’ Well, either way it would serve as a doodle book of his own, if nothing else. The pen and pencil both roll off the notebook cover when he opened to examine its contents.
Gibberish, is all Mikey saw. Pure, number coded gibberish. To the average student, it would have looked like neatly worded mathematic notes, color coded and plenty. If he’d looked further, he’d find notes related to other subjects as well. But he really didn’t feel like it.
Thankfully, to keep his interest, a small little notecard was stuck as a bookmark.
Mikey glanced your direction again, amused when he noticed you were doing the exact same thing, but unlike him, when you accidentally made eye contact, you immediately break it to unsubtly pretend to have your attention up front again.
He grinned. You were cute.
Without his left hand never leaving his pocket, he managed to open the notebook with only his right hand, fingers nimbly spreading the book open to the bookmarked section.
He noticed some familiar words on this page. Matter of fact, a lot of the words written down on this section of pages were word for word what was being vocally spoken, when he took a second to listen.
Again shifting his attention, he noticed your handwriting on the bookmark, as well.
“I hope this helps! I don’t see you in class often, so I thought you could use these. Don’t worry about returning them, you can keep them if you want.
If you need help catching up, I’m apart of the tutoring program the school offers!
My name is Y/n L/n, I hope we can get along:)”
That’s all you wrote.
He starred intently at your handwriting for sometime. It was a hell of a lot more legible when what he could do, and while you used rather simple kanji, it still took him a minute to register them. He really Has been gone from school a while.
Manjiro found himself smiling without permission. It was kind of touching, the kindness of a stranger who genuinely looks out for others without gain.
For the sake of your kindness, Mikey did attempt to follow the lesson one more time, with the notes at his ready.
Unfortunately, he still didn’t really get what was going on. What even subject were they talking about? Social studies, geographics, English literature? He gave an exasperated, loud groan before slumping back in his seat. He found himself falling back into irritation.
Trying to calm himself for the third time this class period, he noticed the same soft whisper that caught his attention the first time. Quicker to respond this time, Manjiro lugged his head towards your direction again. He felt his smile wanting to surface again when he was met with your worried expression once more.
You seemed to want to say something, but obviously were worried about the consequences. So, immediately after meeting eyes, you gave a “wait a sec” kind of gesture, and started scribbling on a similarly decorated notecard. He waited for you patiently, unable to do much else anyway.
Soon, you began reaching your hand out to give him the notecard. However, Manjiro wanted more than your written attention. So, before you could react or slip the note on his desk, he reached out to take the note from your hand. He didn’t just reach out to take the note however, purposefully, he outstretched his delicate looking fingers a little further, and trailed his finger tips along the back of your hand. Slowly he offered a very gentle squeeze before his hand pulled back, finger tips trailing a path from your wrist to your nail beds.
The touch was brief, but accidentally intimate. So much so that your breath hitched from the unexpected action. No one seemed to notice. Manjiro did, but no one else. Probably.
This all but lit a fit of flames in his gut, a giddy feeling irrupting before he could even read the note. Eagerly, he scanned the card.
“Don’t let the material get you down! You can catch up in no time. Hang in there!”
This time, your handwriting was a little more messy, quicker. Still, it was cute, he thought.
Giving up on the lecture entirely at this point, he finally let go of his bored sitting stance, and retreated his left hand from his pocket to maneuver the notebook and two note cards on his desk. Grabing the pencil you’d also lent him, he began to scribble something under your handwriting of the second notecard.
“Thanks”
Is all he wrote. Honestly, he got nervous halfway through writing, and gave up after he finished only the single word. Nerves slowly got to him when he noticed a pair of eyes peering at him secretly. Your gaze felt like burning on his skin when he thought about it for too long. Ignoring your gaze this time, he knew you had the upper hand when his peripheral sight caught your big smile.
…
Once the bell had rang for break, all the students seemed to jump up to leave. Manjiro was still doodling in the back of your notebook. You were packing your things neatly as you usually do, glancing at the delinquent next to you. Finishing up a few last strokes, Manjiro lazily held the book up for your appraisal.
Doodled rather… poorly, was his name, and ‘Tokyo Manji Gang’ in different fonts… as well the face of the Doriyaki mascot. (?)
You didn’t seem to hide your amusement, openly giggling at the childish doodles and gave a thumbs up. He liked that. Manjiro grinned at your approval and shut the book, resting his head to look at you with a new intensity.
“Y/n, right?” He asked. You nodded, not seeming too phased by his intentionally intense aura.
“Nice to officially meet you, Manjiro.” You greeted back with a chirp. He blinked at you a little wide before letting out a quiet laugh. “Isn’t it normal to use someone’s surname when addressing them for the first time?” He asked. No, he never minded it. Of corse not.
The middle schooler was used to many names.
Boss.
Captain.
The Invincible Mikey
Mikey.
But the only ones with the privilege to call him by his given name: Manjiro. We’re limited to his only siblings.
. . . .
And apparently, you too.
It was amusing. No stranger DARED utter his given name, out of fear of disrespecting the great Mikey….. yet here you were.
God, he loved the way his name sounded, coming from you.
Manjiro.
He didn’t even realize how smitten by it he was. Not until he realized you were starting at him inquisitively.
Shit, what did you say? He forgot entirely.
…
The following few weeks consisted of Manjiro Sano following you around, more or less.
Out of everything school had to offer, he swears up and down that the only thing that caught his interest was you.
It was a well known fact that Manjiro Sano was a delinquent. Big Boss of Toman. Dangerous beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Mikey never acted in public how he normally would around the founding toman, it wasn’t known how childish and goofy he was.
Manjiro don’t too much trusting. Too many mistakes. He found himself treading lightly, yet he couldn’t back-peddle from wanting your attention.
He monitored you closely for the past week. He took note of your reactions, your ideals, how you treated others. He wrote down your favorite manga, silly irrational fears.
It didn’t take him long to realize how others treated you either.
People walked all over you, yet you didn’t bat an eye about it. It’d be really annoying if you did things for people just so people would like you. People definitely saw you as a pushover.
You rolled with the punches, so to speak. Any vile attitude aimed at you seemed to go unnoticed, as you maintained composure effortlessly. You never gave anyone a reason to bad mouth you either way, but snarky remarks about being a pushover did become a class commodity. It was easy to pick on the one who never fought back.
Yet Manjiro knew it wasn’t out of kindness or seeking compensation for your good deeds.
“Why’d you stop to help that guy pick up his lunch? He was cleaning the mess up just fine, you didn’t need to help him.” Mikey pouted, originally irritated because you broke from his side to do this task.
You finished washing your hands, drying them on the dry cloth Manjiro held out to you. Replying with a shrug, “Why not? He looked like he could use the help. If he didn’t want it he could tell me to buzz off, but it doesn’t hurt to offer some help.”
Manjiro rolled his eyes. “Might not hurt, but it’s inconvenient as hell,” he mumbled. You gave him a stern look, raising an eyebrow. “Inconvenient how? Were you gatta be so urgently?” You joked, confusing your classmate further.
You laughed, and patted him on the shoulder. “Think about it, if you were havin’ a bad day and dropped your stuff, you’d be pretty pissed off right? Even if it’s one little act, things like that help get you through the day,”
“Nothing wrong with trying to make the world a little bit of a nicer place.”
That’s when Manjiro Sano’s knew you were his darling.
You were so soft with him, and he loved that about you. He loved when you beamed at him with pride for whatever academic achievement he mastered…
You were different.
You were perfect- Manjiro declared.
Three weeks finally pass, and Mikey hadn’t missed a single day of school. Maybe a skipped class or two, but he always showed up on his sweet babu, if not to tease you and pick up the notes you made him before snacking on the roof.
Mikey has been holding back ever since that day. Keeping his darker impulses at bay time and time and time again.
He held back every time you got too close, and your clothes brushed up against his more than a casual encounter.
He held back every time you looked him dead in the eye, asking him if he was okay.
He held back when the little pinch of pain in his chest made him want to croak out the truth: Not really…
Mikey held back the tears, the words and feelings he suddenly felt so comfortable expressing.
Because it was you who asked.
Each and every time he held back from making you his darling. He wanted you to hold him so desperately. For you to fill that empty space he’s always had.
A part of Mikey knew that if you found out just how much he loved you, you would start to fear him.
You too would start walking on eggshells around him, run away after high school and abandon him.
…Or you would bend to his command one day, and he hated the thought of it.
He hated thinking about your trapped form, scared to speak the wrong thing.
He hated thinking he could make you into that person.
Ha hated the thought of you hating him.
…he didn’t want you to have that choice.
…
And there you were, listening to him whine.
“Come’onnnn Y/ncchin!~ it’s so boring hereeee,”
You glance down to your left, seeing your classmate’s practice packet still blank. “Well, if you can answer those for me I’ll take you out for Taiyaki; my treat.”
He loved you so much. You always knew how to motivate him.
However, he already knew you would treat him to taiyaki, even if he didn’t get the answers right, or if he even did them at all.
“Buuu~ not this time Y/nchiin! Bribe denied.” He huffed, anticipating your reply.
You matched his huff, crossing your arms. He loved the way you looked when you pouted.
“Maybe I’ll just stop tutoring you then!” You threatened weakly.
“No chance, you want me to graduate so bad.” Mikey snorted a laugh.
“No more leftover bento bits,” you warned testingly.
“You’d never let poor little me starve…” he batted his eyelashes.
“…”
He grinned with triumph.
“Fine, what will it take for you to try to pass ONE class?”
“Mm~” Mikey hummed, glancing over the material to appraise it.
If Manjiro were honest, he could get rather good grades, actually. With repetition, and your good habits, he was actually learning really quickly. But he couldn’t let you know that. He liked when you babied him through some things, just to impress you beyond comprehension moments later.
The praise…
Oh, Mikey thought. That’s it. He wants your praise. He wants you to tell him how awesome he was, how cool and dashing he could be, how smart he was. How much you loved him-
“How bout if I can ace this whole packet, you have to grant me one favor?”
The deal went just as you would have thought it would. He feigned having trouble on the packet of questions, so not to seem overly suspicious.
Yet true to his plan, you now owed him one favor.
“Fine, what favor do you want from me?” You chuckled while rolling your eyes.
Your first line of thought went to,
‘make me homemade taiyaki!’
‘let me cheat on the final!’
‘wax my CB250 !’
… not, “stay still, unless you really don’t want to.”
His voice was a whisper, and you’re immediately caught with your guard down.
Manjiro gently weaves his left hand under your hair. He tilts your head slightly, enough so he could achieve his goal, any resistance on your end being considered with mindful touches. He wouldn’t push you past your comfort. He couldn’t stand if you looked at him with fear in your eyes, too.
Your breath hitches, giving way to wind the excitement his actions gifted you.
Your breath continues to be shaky, yet obeying his favor, you sat still.
Both of you took a few seconds to get your racing hearts back under control.
It was futile, but the nerves to act finally snapped after Mikey and your eyes’ caught each others. The mirrored look of excitement was all Manjiro could stand. The accepting bat of your eyelashes.
Manjiro Sano didn’t hold back this time.
Still gentle, Manjiro quickly closed the gap between your awaiting kiss.
Seconds pass. Two very soft sighs can be heard.
Followed by Manjiro’s lip clicking sweetly against yours when the kiss naturally deepened.
This was heaven.
The feeling of you so close, so accepting, so gentle to him.
Mikey wanted to caress you into a deep hold, may so that the heat and desperate banging against his chest would finally feel heard. He wanted to feel your heartbeat pulse against his lips.
Manjiro Sano wanted to be gentle.
But he couldn’t help how his muscles tensed and grabbed you harder. How could he, when you just let out the cutest fucking moan. The craving of your submission suddenly became more appealing, Mikey felt himself coming to life again.
He pushed your lips deeper, the force of his grip and encouragement to mimic his lead allow the kiss to deepen once more to something more recognized as making out.
He couldn’t stop. You were losing breath, and he could feel you try to initiate a pause, but damnit, he couldn’t stop.
It started getting hard to breathe without gasping for air, but your whines and accidental moans were damning you more than you realize.
Manjiro. Couldn’t. Stop.
Again, he pushed the kiss so you had no other choice than to breathe your cute noises into his waiting mouth, tongue darting for a taste.
He couldn’t stop himself from pulling you closer into his embrace, making it so you were standing on one foot while your other knee rested just between his thighs.
Fuuuck, he thought. You’re so warm, all of you. But warmest of all, was the heat you were generating with friction and arousal. All he had to do was hike his knee up just a little. Just a little bit. He couldn’t even begin to imagine the animal he would become after hearing what your siren like moans would turn him into.
So finally, Manjiro held back.
He pulled back, panting without much issue. Assessing your face, your eyes… your lips.
Your lips were just barely swollen, rubbed into a pretty red tint (with his help).
A thin, barely noticeable line of spit lay unattended, from his unfortunate retreat.
He wiped it gingerly, looking back into your eyes with a hooded gaze.
“A…are you.. sure?” You softly croaked out.
“About what..?” Manjiro whispered back.
“I dont… like joking about these types of things…” you continue, face becoming redder. “S-so if you’re messing around, I’ll get mad…” you warned, again, weakly.
You were so soft with him.
“And what if I’m not messing around?” Mikey asks you point blank, his intense stare once again peering into your very soul.
There’s a short moment of silence.
And suddenly, it’s your turn to gently brush against his also swollen lips. Rather than a kiss, it felt more like a binding.
Manjiro Sano vowed to you that very moment. And this was a seal of your acceptance.
That was all he could ever ask for.

I fw your shikamaru weedhead hc heavvyyyy. The apartment would smell like incense, sex and weed on the daily and i wouldn’t complain lmaooo
What do you think having sex while high with him would be like? I’m thinking it’s a constant thing tbf. Cockwarming too. Both parties too high to function but too needy to not wanna fuck yk
i like the way you think - thank you for your thoughts, here are a few of mine;
Smoking With Shikamaru (Dirty Version)
(Clean Version)
Warnings: f!Reader, NSFW as fuck - oral (both), cockwarming, edging, fucking, lotta mary-jo talk
Notes: living, loving, laughing this request, i can't remember the last time i fucked straight
Masterlist💿
Without a shadow of a doubt, Shikamaru's got a tier system for the different modes of consumption and how he wants to fuck as a result
At the bottom; bong rips
Not his least favourite way to smoke (carts don't even make the list, he hates them so bad) but definitely his least favourite to do anything sexual while under the influence of
He finds it hard to properly get in the mood
A cuddle would be much preferred, but Shikamaru would always happily, and sloppily, go down on you if you asked in a sweet enough tone
Mid tier; spliffs, blunts, joints - in that ascending order
While still a sticky high, Shikamaru finds he can move more freely and his mind is less fogged than with tokes from the bizzle
After smoking something that was so precisely rolled by your nimble fingers, he would find it so very hard to keep his thoughts about your hands in other places at bay
This tier is a sliding scale - toward the bottom (spliffs), Shikamaru would enjoy cockwarming the most, just letting smoke dribble from both of your mouths as you sat on his dick, clenching every now and again whenever he would move; it would drive Shikamaru crazy, being inside of you without moving, and he wouldn't be able to last more than 30 minutes before fucking you lazily on the couch
After sharing a blunt with you (on special occasions only - Shikamaru found blunts to usually just be an extravagant way to waste weed), Shikamaru would be quick to start kissing you, decorating your neck with little love bites - sometimes, the kisses amounted to nothing more than an extremely intimate cuddle, and other times, they resulted in extremely long edging sessions, where you would almost be reduced to tears, begging Shikamaru to just let you cum - but he's having so much fun, enjoying your pussy in every way under the sun - the only reason blunts were scored so lowly was because it was a toss up, if every time you two smoked a blunt ended with a night like that, Shikamaru would've wasted every nug of weed, every bag of shake, every pack of Backwoods
With a joint, his mind would demand more, and he would sit you down on his cock, guiding your hips in deliciously slow circles and soft bounces - he would toy with your clit, watching your face screw up so beautifully and adoring the way you spasmed around him when you came before filling you up with his own spend - Shikamaru wouldn't pull out, not for a long while after, getting rock hard all over again when he saw a pearly drop, cascading down your leg, when you finally stood
Coming in at number one, the Commander-in-Chief, the Big Kahoona; dabs.
Oh, oh, oh, oh my
Get this man some concentrate, and he will go to town
His favourite type was butter concentrates and he kinda had a thing against diamond concentrates, but that was pure semantics - so long as Shikamaru was smoking one of his insanely large dabs from a rig, you were sure to be in for the night of your life
As soon as the cough fades and his throat soothes, Shikamaru's sights are set on you
"My mouth's so dry," you'd say after your toke, feeling the golden fuzz of concentrate on the back of your teeth
"I have something for you to suck on, sweet girl."
69ing is only possible to enjoy for Shikamaru while under the influence of a dab - he's still wildly concerned with bringing you pleasure, but he can let himself cruise, actually being able to enjoy your warm mouth around his cock
It never lasts long, because Shikamaru will pick you up as you layed atop him, arms secured around your waist as he takes you to the bed, without ever stopping his meal
He would lay you down so sweetly and sink into you quickly, mind absolutely racing and needing to feel every inch of you
Shikamaru would have you in every position throughout the night, wanting you at every angle, wanting to feel his tip press against your cervix, wanting to see the moving bulge in your lower stomach, he wanted all of you
The key feature that dabbing produced, that shot it yards ahead of the rest, was the fact that, once Shikamaru was turned on, he was ready to go until the sun shone and he passed out - multiple rounds and a myriad more orgasms were ensured to come from his purple, embossed dab rig

Headcanon time: Am I the only one who feels like, Jiraiya should have left this little compensation gift for Tsunade, before heading off to fight Pain? Dying in the process, while still leaving a remainder of his legacy behind? Making up for lost time, and allowing the two to heal together, after years of fearful denial and trauma?
I get that the Naruto series is practically infamous for how poorly the female characters were handled, but honestly, this one time, where one woman in the series would end up pregnant, where I would wholeheartedly SUPPORT it, would be Tsunade. Think about it, after the war, after fighting Madara, she practically returned to the same solitude lifestyle she had, before encountering Naruto. She didn't change for the better, in fact, she regressed completely. She returned to living without any purpose, going back to gambling and getting senselessly drunk, practically every day.
Look, I get it, by the time Kakashi becomes Hokage, she might have just retired and wanted to be left alone, but is this really all there is to it? Just regressing back to negative habits, because, screw you? I dunno, man, this is that one time where, if she DID end up having a child to take care of, it might have elevated her character, instead of "putting her down", because it would mean: She has a purpose for living. And it would mean, her love for Jiraiya wasn't a "curse", like how it was with her previous lover, Dan. Jiraiya's love for her, saved her life, in the end. He turned out to be that one guy, that, even post-mortum, still managed to have a positive influence on her. And the child is a daily reminder, of how closely intertwined the two were, in spite of the trauma. That just sounds so beautiful, and far more conclusive to Tsunade as a character, than what happened in the actual story. Plus, she and Kurenai could have become besties and connect over the difficulties with pregnancy.
And yeah, I hear you calling: BuT tSuNaDe Is ToO oLd To GeT pReGgErS! Listen, the Strength of a Hundred Seal kept her entire appearance and body about twenty years younger, if that also applies to her organs and her uterus, that isn't a dead topic. Plus, we all know how much of a horny perv Jiraiya is, he couldn't have just left it at just one time, and then never again. Especially since, this is Tsunade we are talking about here, the one woman, he had always held so dear. And I can only imagine, the moment the dam breaks between the two, it would get... SPICY.
It wouldn't even come close to all these sex worker ladies that Jiraiya had probably slept with, while thinking about Tsunade, since he would always go for those, who KIND OF resemble her. But I will bet, in spite of his attitude, I doubt he would have even minded to see Tsunade all wrinkly and old. His love for her was genuine and deep-rooted, I doubt he would have had any problems with her getting "saggy". She would have been THE golden exception, to most of his "rules" on what he finds attractive, because to him, everything about her, is attractive, not just the looks.
But another point to consider, just imagine, IMAGINE, the look on Naruto's face, the moment he learns that part of his father figure will continue to live on, inside Tsunade. That all his sacrifices were never in vain, and he finally got over himself to tell her the truth, resulting in the birth of their child, the one to carry on both of their legacies. Naruto would have cherished this baby, just imagine him tearfully cradling it in his arms, swearing to protect it, the same way his mom swore to him, when he was still a newborn. Oh god, my heart...
...it would also be a nice callback to how Kushina held Naruto, right after birth.
Plus, it would have given Naruto, much like when Shikamaru revealed to him, how Kurenai bore the child of her and Asuma before he died, a much bigger motivation to fight Madara, Obito, and later, Sasuke. The stakes would have become way higher then, if that were the case, since, this isn't anyone's child, it's Jiraiya's and Tsunade's child. Two people, who have played major roles in Naruto's life, being his foster parents, if you will. And he would have fought way harder to defend the past, the present and the future, while facing Sasuke. I mean, sure, it's doubtful if Sasuke would have ever had the guts to truly go through with this, since he couldn't even bring himself to kill either Naruto or Sakura, no matter how hard he tried, so, if he couldn't do that, then everything would be out of the question. But you get the point.
And for NaruHina and SasuSaku fans: Yup. Both Naruto and Sakura would have probably had to take care of Tsunade's baby, since they were the closest to her, and it could have been an ideal training method for either of them, to grasp all about the stressful nature of raising a child, while still working as shinobi and in their respective fields of work. It would have mentally prepared either of them, for when Hinata and Sasuke finally decide to tie the knot with them, and build their own families. And to add another layer of pure sweetness: Kakashi and Anko would have gotten announced as the child's godparents, should something happen to Tsunade. Nuff' said.
I am sorry, despite Kakashi and Anko not looking like it, I think, both of them would be AWESOME godparents, or hell, even uncle and aunt. Both saw the worst of what life had to offer. Raising a child would be... child's play, by contrast. Just imagine Anko adorably doting on the baby in her crazy, unhinged, but very endearing way.
There you go, another headcanon of mine, spilled. What do you guys think? Lemme know. Peace.

———————————————————————
Anxious fingers crawl under my dress and quickly find themselves along my spinal cord. Shikamaru traces the ridges of my spine, running over the lower half before sliding back down.
Thump, thump, thump.
I do my best to stay still, not letting the shiver building up escape. If it wasn't for the Nara cloak wrapped around my shoulders I'd be on display, but I don't think Shika cares much about that right now.
I spare him a glance, doing my best not to move much. The last thing he needs right now is to notice how anxious I am too. His jaw is screwed tightly shut, eyes strictly forward and as hard as his jaw. If this was a different situation I'd take the time to enjoy Shika's pissy face. He's always so pretty when he's angry.
"Shikamura," his mother says, tone light but words filled with fire. "Stop looking so mad. Today is a gracious day. A very honorable day. At least try and look happy."
A couple of blinks fill the space of his usual eye roll, but his face does soften a bit. "Yes Ma'am," Shika answers, but still gets a pointed look from his mom. The look soon flutters away, along with the inactive chieftess as she walks off to talk to the Nara Chief's advisor... Shikamura's advisor.
The thought tickles my brain. Quite a few thoughts recently have been messing with my head. It's always been a known fact that Shikamura was going to succeed his father; everyone just thought we'd have more time before that happened.
It was something that came up in our relationship a few times, the event of him becoming chief and in turn me becoming chieftess if our relationship went further. Now that it's here, Shika has insisted I take the title too and that 'we'd figure out the marriage thing later'.
I know I shouldn't read so much into his statement but I do. Does he want me to be his chieftess or does he feel required to give me the title since we've been together for so long? Does he feel rushed to get married now too? What if he decides he doesn't want to be with me? Would he stay with me to avoid embarrassing the clan by stripping me of my title? Or would he just leave me without a second thought?
"I need some fresh air. You're coming with, pretty girl," Shikamura whispers against my ear, his warm breath coating the side of my face. Tingles fill my chest at the pet name, tugging at the corners of my mouth.
Despite the warmth in my chest, he does startle me a bit with his sudden closeness. Shika isn't big on being all 'love-struck teen' in public, which usually leaves room between us and a lot less touching when we're out and about. Today seems to be an acceptation though.
I hum a yes getting a rough hand pushing me forward in return. I do as prompted, walking forward and sliding out a side door with Shika in tow.
Once we're out the door, Shika takes the lead. His hand jumps from the small of my back to tangle with mine. The walk to the forest edge is rough, Shikamura's nerves getting the better of him now that we're out of the sight of the clan council.
When the shade of the trees engulfs us, his shoulders noticeably relax, as does his hold on me. His fingers are back to being feathery light as they slide against mine. As Shika relaxes, he lets himself prop up against a tree.
I do the same, the rough bark of the trunk scratching against my back and my knees accidentally knocking against my boyfriend from the close quarters. My eyes cast themselves upwards, taking in the natural fairy lights made by the sun and the leaf patterns.
A click of Shika's lighter fills the silent space, quickly followed by a stream of grey smoke. "Wear more dresses," he mumbles, smoke curling out with his words. It's weird to me how straightforward and yet confusing Shikamura can be.
"I can't exactly fight in a dress, Shika," I mumble, a bit distracted by the man next to me. He's dressed up for the ceremony today, which means he's out of his Shinobi vest for once. Instead, Shika - and myself - are dressed in the muddy forest color of his clan. His hair is up in a high ponytail, like always, and the ends are their usual spikes.
In honor of the ceremony, his face is covered in clan paint, the washed-out grey color of the Nara clan instead of their signature green color. The paint focuses his cheekbones more than usual, adding to his attractiveness.
"You look stupid," he says as his own eyes wander over the paint on my face. His mother insisted I have the traditional art on my face as well. Shikamaru isn't too happy about it and threw a bit of a fit when his mom was putting it on me. "Take it off."
The order is followed by movement. Shika rests his cigarette between his lips and moves closer to me. His hands reach up to my face and quickly start smudging the grey paint. I stay still, letting him rub away the artwork.
Once he's settled on the fact that maybe his hands aren't the best way to get it off, he reaches into his pockets. It doesn't take long for him to find something else to attack my face with. Shika is gentle as he runs the cloth over my face.
"There's my pretty girl," he murmurs soft enough that I almost don't hear it.
"Your mom is going to reapply it when we get inside."
"And I'll wipe it off again," he snaps back, tone a bit pitched. The softness in his face is gone again, replaced by a look of disgust. "You don't need all that gunk on your face." The words are rough but they're meant with love. Shika appreciates when I do my makeup for him, even if he shows it in his own way. Though, at the end of the day he prefers me bare-faced.
His hands drop from my face and slide back to my spine, this time over my dress. His fingers mess with the material as his eyes rake up and down me a couple of times. They end up settling on my collarbones. "Wear more dresses," he repeats before turning his attention back to his cigarette.
Shika is always like this, making his requests sound like demands. I don't think the man could ask a question to save his life. "Okay Shika," I answer back, leaning my head against the tree.
He nods to himself in approval, his hand dipping down to the hem of my dress. Shikamura's fingers wrap around it, the material balled in his fist and his knuckles grazing my thigh.
"What's going on in that pretty little head of yours?" I ask, bending my knee so more of his skin comes into contact with my own.
The answer is put on hold by a couple more drags of his cigarette. "You look good in our clan colors," he finally answers.
"Our?"
"Our."
——————————————
My eyes trail after my little storm cloud as he slowly makes his way back to me. Shikamura has been stopped for the fifth time on the small path from Choji back to me.
Our friends arrived a few minutes ago and he was very eager to slip away to say hello. I wanted to go with but he insisted I stay put, so I did as ordered. I don't mind it though, I know today is a stressful day and if anyone can help him with the constant reminder that his father is gone, it would be Ino.
Besides, our friends are slowly filtering towards me anyway. Most noticeably, Naruto who is trying his hardest to work his way through the crowd of people.
It feels like the whole village is here to celebrate Shika's inauguration. Our inauguration. I guess a good part of the village is here; The whole of the Nara clan, fellow clan Chiefs and their families, the village council, our friends and coworkers, my family, and a good chuck of the Akimichi and Yamanaka clans.
"Hello!" Naruto calls with a huge smile on his face.
"Hello," I call back, watching him weave around a couple more people.
"You must be so excited!" His voice bombs, his volume control being very obvious despite all the other noises in the banquet hall.
"Naruto! Don't you dare!"
"Shut up, Naruto!"
My eyes snap away from the fox boy and towards the direction of the yelling. My eyes are met with a very pissed-off Sakura and a red-faced Ino. Both are quickly making their way towards us, with the rest of our Shinobi generation following closely behind.
"Chieftess Nara," Ino says, tipping her head down before snapping it back up. "Not a word," she hisses at Naruto, daggers in her eyes.
"Please don't call me that, Ino," I murmur, rolling my shoulders in an attempt to also roll the feeling off. I don't mind people I don't know calling me by my newly established title but it feels weird having my friends call me by it.
"Just stick to my name, Chieftess Yamanaka," I tease a bit, poking fun at Ino's also soon-to-come inauguration.
Ino makes a face, her nose scrunching up at the title. "Ya, okay, I get what you're saying now."
We both laugh a bit, but it's cut off by a slap and Naruto's whine of pain. "Why'd you do that?" He whimpers, rubbing the back of his head and trying to tug off Sakura's hold on his ear.
"Because you need to learn when to shut up!"
"I didn't say anything!"
"Say anything about what?" I ask, question marks going off in my head. The sudden feeling of being left clueless settles in my chest, making my anxiety flare up more than it already is.
"Nothing!" Everyone yells, which doesn't help my anxiety. Maybe my thoughts from earlier are right. Maybe Shika does feel pressured about making me his chieftess and everyone knows it.
"You guys are such a drag," Shika's voice filters into the crowd, smoothing out some of my worries but not all of them. Within seconds his hand finds my spine again, his fingers back to tracing the bumps of it, but this time it's over my dress and cloak. "Hello," he murmurs, dipping his head down closer to me.
"Welcome back," I mumble, glancing at him before looking back at our friends. What is it that everyone but me seems to know?
Thump, thump, thump.
"Calm down," he whispers into my ear before lifting his head back up.
I try my best to listen to his soft demands, taking the time to focus on my breathing and silencing my thoughts. I let my mind focus on the soft rubbing on my spine.
Thump, thump, thump.
Shika's hand ghosts over my lower back before working up the other side of my backbone.
Thump, thump, thump.
I focus on Shikamura's voice. Just the tone and the calmness of it, even though I should be working to focus on the words spilling from his throat.
"Pretty girl?" He calls after a couple of minutes, gently tapping my back to pull my attention back to the surface. I hum a yes, focusing on his face. The face paint has started to crack from drying out throughout the day. "Are you ready?"
"For what?" I ask, glancing around us. Our friends have spaced out in the room, mingling with the other partygoers, getting drinks, or just doing their own thing.
A soft smile coats his face before he turns away from me, his eyes jumping around the room. "For the feast to be served," he murmurs, his fingers curving to work their way down my back again.
"Ya, if you are."
Shika's hand jumps down to the small of my back before he gently pushes me forward. Praises and our names fall from people as we walk through the room, working to get to the head table. Six of the twelve councilmen are there; none of which I recognize.
Thump, thump, thump.
Shikamura's hand coats over my back again as we round the table. "Sit," he orders, pulling my chair out for me. I obey again, sliding into my seat before Shika pushes me in. I listen to him greet the present councilmen, following his pleasantries with my own greetings.
More pleasantries and greetings fall from him - and me - as the rest of the councilmen follow suit, sliding into their places at the table.
Out of the councilmen, only two are women; the councilmen of education and veteran affairs. I only know one of them; Honoka who is the head of the clan's education department. I make a mental note to talk to Shikamura about private one-on-one meetings with the council so I can put names, departments, and faces together.
"Chieftess Nara," Honoka says, tipping her head before she slides into her seat next to me.
"Honoka," I call back, sending her a soft smile. "Thank you for coming."
"I look forward to serving under you, and our Chief," she says, bowing her head for the second time.
Again, I smile at her before turning my attention away. Maybe I'm not made for being the chieftess, especially if Shika fills his father's shoes and takes over being the Hokage's advisor. That'll leave me to fill in the holes of the clan chief when he's busy with the village.
"Calm down," he repeats, hand snaking back into its previous spot.
"Yes sir," I mumble, my eyes jumping around the room. The decorations are pretty; forest greens and greys with vines all over the place. Deer-themed decorations and bones are twisted around the walls as well. It looks like the Clan threw up from all the stereotyped decorations.
Shika's hand works a couple of laps before settling on the center of my back. It only settles for a couple of seconds before running around my spine again. "Maybe you need to calm down too," I murmur, leaning closer to try and get any sense of privacy.
"I'm fine. Today is just a drag," he answers, eyes flickering to me before looking forward again. "It won't be a drag for much longer though."
"Ya?" I push, my focus shifting to Shika's mother. Her lips are pursed as she looks at me, disapproval of her son rubbing my clan paint off again very evident on her face. She's waving her hands around, trying to get her son to stand. "Your mom-"
"I know." Shikamura's words are clipped but still soft. His mom has been getting on his nerves today. They've been butting heads all day long because Shika isn't doing everything how she wants him to.
I let my attention skip away from her. Instead, I focus on the servers littered around the room, handing out plates of food and drinks to our guests.
Once Shikamura is done eyeing the room again, his focus shifts to me. "Give me your hand," he orders, his hand falling from my back and resting in front of me. I lift my hand and slide it into his. Shika's face scrunches up a bit before he drops his hold on me. "No, your left one."
"You could have been more specific," I tease, sliding my - left - hand into his hold.
His eyes stay focused on it for a second before he digs around in his pocket. When his hand is pulled back out, a small black box is in Shika's hold. "What are you-"
"Be quiet," he murmurs, setting the box on his lap before flipping the lid open. Inside the box are two beautiful rings. Shika tugs the thinner of the rings out before sliding it on my finger.
"Sh-"
"Be quiet," he repeats before sliding the other ring onto his left hand. "We'll talk about it later."
My eyes drop down to my ring finger, taking the time to soak in the new jewelry. The edges of the ring are silver with the familiar antler print between the silver bands. Small stones are stamped into the print. I do a quick tally; eight diamonds are pressed into the band.
Despite my focus being on my hand, my eyes catch on Shikamura's movements. He slides the box back into his pocket before pressing his hand into my spine again. The newly added ring adds extra pressure as he slides his fingers up and down my back.
Thump, thump, thump.
Shika's ring snags on my spine a bit, sending a new kind of relief through me.
Thump, thump, thump.
"Shika?"
"We'll talk about it later."
"Shikamura?"
"You're being a drag right now, pretty girl," he murmurs, glancing at me, and then my hand, before going back to having a silent conversation with his mother across the room.
"I'm being a drag right now?" I hiss quietly, tugging on his arm to try and get his attention.
"Ya," the answer is short, but I get what I want; Shikamura's undivided attention.
"You just... what? Proposed? Without actually proposing, in a room full of people, and I'm being a drag?"
"Ya. I'll propose again later, with all that lovey-dovey stuff," he shrugs, eyes skirting around the room again. "I just knew if I didn't do it now Naruto would have ruined it."
I hold my tongue for a second, only letting it loose to thank the server for placing down our plates. "Why'd you propose?"
Shika's face snaps toward me, eyebrows knotted together and his lips pursed like his mother's were a few minutes ago. "What kind of question is that? I swear you're one of the smartest but dumbest people I know. It's a bit of a drag."
I blink at him a couple of times, rolling his words over in my head. That did not answer my question. Shikamura sighs before dipping his head backward, resting it behind my ear. "Stop stressing so much, pretty girl." The words are followed by a light kiss pressed behind my ear.
Before I can answer back Shika stands up, tugging me along with him. His arm is loose around my waist, but the weight of it is still present. I scan the room as Shika taps his glass a couple of times, pulling the room's attention to us. "Thank you all for coming," his voice rings out the start of his first official speech as Chief.
——————————————
For the millionth time tonight, Shika's fingers dance over my back, hand pushing me through the side door before we get stopped by someone again.
My nic-fein has been antsy for a cigarette the last hour. Every time we'd get close to escaping the party, someone else would stop us to congratulate us or to talk about Shika's plans to 'better the clan'.
A sigh of relief is let out of the new shadow king once the door clicks closed behind us.
"You know if you stopped smoking-"
"I know," he cuts me off, his hands already digging in his pockets for his pack and his lighter. "Tonight has just been-"
"A drag?" I tease, leaning against the wall.
Shikamura hums a yes, cigarette already pressed between his lips as he tries to light it. I watch his chest puff out from his inhale, my eyes trailing after the smoke that's released when he exhales. "It hasn't all been a drag."
"Ya?"
"Ya."
His eyes flicker down to my hand pressed against the brick building. When Shikamura doesn't see what he wants, he moves to the other side of me. He falls into place next to me, back to the wall, fingers lazily overlapping mine as he messed with my ring. My wedding ring.
"You never answered my question," I push the words out and into the dark. I let my focus shift to the stars stamped into the sky above us, letting them distract me.
"It's a stupid question."
"Shikamura!"
"What?" He groans the cackle of his cigarette following his words. Soon another cloud of smoke fills the sky, cutting off the clear view of the stars for a second. "Why does it matter?"
"You're a dumbass," I hiss, tearing my eyes from the sky to glare at him.
"Sometimes," he answers, his normal bored look on his face as he looks down at me. "I proposed because I wanted to, pretty girl. Stop letting your mind mess with you."
"Did you?"
His answer is pushed back by three deep puffs of his cigarette. Shika's eyes are still locked on me, the smoke from him wrapping around us when he exhales. "Did I what?"
"Want to propose?"
Shikamura rolls his eyes at me, glancing to the forest edge before settling on me again. "Pretty girl?"
"Shika?"
"Why don't you believe that I want to marry you? Do you not believe I love you?"
"I know you love me."
"Do you?" He asks, inching closer to me. Smoke coats my face when he exhales, promising to leave the smell of it in my hair.
"Yes."
His eyes jump around my face for a second, followed by another puff of smoke before he pulls back. "Isn't it good enough that I proposed because I love you? Because I wanted to? What do I need to do to make you say yes, pretty girl?"
My cheeks heat a bit at his question. I'm well aware that Shikamura comes off as self-centered. I'm well aware he comes off as bored or even egotistical because of his lack of motivation. I'm also well aware all I have to do is ask for something and it'll happen, even if he does it in his normal moody way. Shika coats his love with attitude, even in moments like this.
"Ask."
"Ask?"
"Yes. You didn't ask me to marry you. Ask me," I answer, a smug smile growing on my face.
Shika's eyes stretch out before falling back to their normal narrowness. I watch as his eyes settle back on mine, his head inching forward. Before he gets closer he stops, inhales his smoke again, and then leans his forehead against mine.
"Shika?"
His free hand snakes up and gently wraps around my throat, squeezing it once, twice, before he dips his head. "Open your mouth," Shikamaru orders, his voice chipped as he inhales again to keep the smoke in his lungs.
I let my lips part a bit, which seems to be good enough for him. Shika tips his head to the side, pressing our lips together as he exhales into my mouth. The smoke he was holding burns my lungs, a cough forming from the action.
"Marry me, pretty girl?" He asks, barely pulling away so that his lips still brush against mine.
"Yes," I answer, his smoke seeping out with the word.
Shikamaru hums in approval before pulling away slightly. The small fire at the end of his cancer stick brightens the space between us as he takes another drag. Once again, he holds the smoke in his lungs and squeezes my throat. I let my mouth fall open a second time and get rewarded with a kiss and another smoke-packed exhale.
When I exhale, the smoke coats Shika's face, a small smirk covering it as his eyes skip around my body.
His head dips down again but before I can get a kiss the door slams open. "Shikamaru?!" Naruto yells, pulling an eye roll and a sigh from my boyfriend - fiancé.
"What do you want, Naruto?" Shika groans, his hand tightening and relaxing against my skin a few times.
"Lord Sixth has arrived and is asking for you two!"
"We'll be there in a minute, Naruto. Now go away." Naruto does as told, the door slamming shut as he leaves.
Shikamaru's eyes widen again before settling back to their normal shape. "Pretty girl," he murmurs, pressing a small kiss to my lips before pulling away.
"Shika?"
His hand slides further up my throat, pushing my head up to stretch out my neck. Shikamaru hums to himself, the hand not around my neck coming up to trace my collarbone. "You are beautiful," he murmurs, running his cigarette against the wall next to us. Once he's sure it's out, - running it against his hand first - he gently pressing the dead butt against the bone he was previously tracing.
The still-warm cigarette makes my skin tingle slightly; a promise to leave pink and irritated skin behind for the next few days. Shika takes his time, pressing more marks along my collarbone before throwing out the now cold butt.
"Pretty girl?" He calls again, covering my now sensitive skin in kisses.
"Shika?" I call in return, trying to bite back the whines sizzling up from the pain shooting across my skin.
"I can't wait for our wedding."
"Our?" I murmur, the pain and growing pleasure fogging the events of the day.
"Our."

✩ would anyone be interested in a BORUTO REWRITE ? (follow this link to read the fic)
here are the major things i'm changing from the series to fit into a more realistic storyline ↴
first, and this is very based, but i dislike boruto's name in general. i know it's an homage to neji's name (which translates to "screw"), and don't get me wrong 'bolt' as a nickname that references both neji and minato's legacy (since the latter was known as the 'yellow flash of konoha') is awesome. but in my story, i've given the main character the name akihiro (ironically known as hiro by his peers) meaning "bright" or "shining" with this kanji variation 明弘 [in which the first one literally translates to "dawn".]
also, it'll help if you read THIS first (a post made by me and my cousin two years ago! and it's only now coming to fruition :>)
other key points where this story diverges from boruto, both in terms of plot, themes, and character dynamics:
akihiro's personality and role
akihiro is much more charismatic and endearing, resembling a "sweet-talker" type who bonds deeply with others rather than boruto’s initial rebellious and aloof nature. he embraces being naruto’s son but struggles with living up to the expectations, rather than rejecting them outright.
this adds complexity to his growth as a leader and makes him more relatable and likable to a wider range of characters.
akihiro is an only child
unlike boruto, akihiro doesn’t have a younger sibling like himawari. this shifts the family dynamic to focus more closely on his relationship with naruto and hinata, highlighting their efforts to guide him without distractions.
it makes akihiro’s journey more introspective and personal, with fewer family members diluting his arc. but this will tie into another plotpoint with sakura and sasuke's kid(s) looking up to him as an older brother figure, so he fulfills that role just as well. the reason i chose not to give him a sibling is because i'm still on the fence about giving akihiro the byakugan since it might be too cliché (but admit it, boruto's and himawari's designs would've looked pretty cool with the eerie edge of the hyuugas' pupil-less eyes). but i have no intention of making naruto pass on kurama to his kids, especially not to akihiro. so, the point of him having a sibling in the timeline where conflict arises pretty early (just after the events of akihiro's birth) is unlikely.
generation gap in konoha 9's children
the children of the original konoha 9 aren’t all the same age.
they were born across a realistic timeline based on their parents’ relationships (e.g., temari and shikamaru’s child is older than sakura and sasuke’s).
the reason for this was pretty much at face value, it just is highly unlikely that all the couples got together and fell pregnant at the same time. maybe some kids are same age but mostly spanning a five year range at minimum. this adds more diverse interactions across generations and avoids the forced "classmates" dynamic that boruto had.
right now i do have the konoha 9's kids figured out. from oldest to youngest, they are [this is during when my story starts, when akihiro is 15]:
shikadai nara (18) > chocho akimichi (17) > akihiro uzumaki (16) > inojin yamanaka (16) > shizumi nara (13) > sarada and souta uchiha (11)
stronger, more varied teammates
akihiro’s teammates are more specialized and powerful compared to boruto’s. yume kazemura, an immigrant from the land of mist with her water style and weapon specialty, and daichi hiiragi, a fire-style ninja with a less prominent earth style. akihiro himself would have wind and lightning style + hyuuga taijutsu — mostly because i wanted to divide each team in a way that balances each other out.
this team is a frontline squad, so their chakra amount and specialty is prominent. it also gives me a reason to make sasuke mentor akihiro later in the story since lightning style seems almost a precursor to space-time jutsu and no other konoha 9 member has an affinity for it.
in any case, their abilities are distinctive and critical in battles, unlike boruto’s team, which felt derivative of naruto’s team 7 and very replicated, in my opinion.
otsutsuki threat introduced as a mystery
a plot point taken from this post (which was actually made by my cousin, who is beta-reading this as we speak!), the otsutsuki threat is revealed gradually through mysterious portals, strange creatures, and sinister chakra bombs, rather than immediately presenting godlike enemies like momoshiki. the slow-burn introduction makes the otsutsuki more terrifying and allows the story to maintain a grounded tone while building tension.
the chakra bomb thing is introduced right after the events of "the last", a few months after naruto and hinata's wedding. a few konoha shinobi en route to kumo for their chunin exams (konohamaru's team being of them), come across a border villager in the land of fire who is on the brink of fever-induced delirium, somehow mid-speech just gives out an insane level of raw chakra pulsing out of his body before collapsing, dead.
the genin team leaders decide to investigate and find that an entire small village on the border was wiped out without a trace of struggle or attack. naturally, fingers are raised towards kumo who really have no clue what's going on. just when it was about to written off as an invasion by the rogue factions, another similar incident takes place in iwagakure. the land of fire and wind being the closest to it are now under fire.
then i plan on introducing a cult who are old regime supremacists (led by disciples of kaguya who were indoctrinated by black zetsu). they believe in the eradication of the non-shinobi factions, a play on the "survival of the fittest" morality. maybe i will integrate the bioengineering and technical development aspect. but it won't be nearly as advanced as the stuff introduced in the boruto universe.
by the time akihiro is 16, strange portals carrying behemoths (think chitauri from avengers, endbringers from worm or even kaiju from pacific rim) into the world open up all across the globe. each nation basically brings a standstill on managing the political uprising to secure their borders, working together to configure who is behind these attacks and where these alien creatures are coming from.
meanwhile, a kaguya cult member reveals the location of a portal leading to the moon base where a fee otsutsuki relics and shrines are found by hiro and his team. while the powerhouses are deployed to deal with the monsters, the village heads are swarmed with cases of riots, fights breaking out between borders and all in all, hostility brewing between the elemental nations.
eventually the behemoth attacks get so frequent and so far apart in distance from one another that it becomes impossible to manage them all — leading to the affected areas being vacated after entire cities are demolished.
this eventually leads to a showdown in the ruins of uzushio where the biggest behemoth shows up, alongside two otsutsuki clan members and most of the alliance is posted there for a drawn out battle.
eventually, after practically wiping the floor with the alliance, the otsutsukis leave but not without the promise of return to plant a chakra tree on earth and to clear it out of tainted blood so the trueborns can thrive in their new paradise. (since humanity right now is a mix of kaguya's blood which gives them control over chakra and human dna — basically, the otsutsuki want to cleanse the world of them and take over the chakra fountain that is earth).
political turmoil between nations
the story will include realistic international tensions among the five great nations. rogue factions, misunderstandings, and betrayals play a critical role in the otsutsuki conflict. everyone with be pointing fingers but due to an established alliance among the kages, no shinobi can act on their convictions without breaking the treaty and being ousted as a stray ninja.
this adds stakes beyond just physical battles, emphasizing the fragile peace post-shinobi war. it also involves side characters from other villages, making the world feel larger and more dynamic.
power scaling is even
the power scaling is balanced, with the konohamaru generation being significantly stronger than akihiro’s due to the chakra bomb conflict arising during their peak as chunin/jounin. while akihiro is talented, he isn’t overpowered like boruto.
battles require teamwork, strategy, and sacrifice. it will also make the older generations more battle-hardened, experienced and will give them knowledge to impart on their charges as sensei. this avoids sidelining older characters and makes fights more engaging. even lower-tier ninjas have meaningful roles (which will be even more prominent during the final battle arc).
akihiro's love interest
now, this is a topic i'm very conflicted on.
on one hand i have this incredible character planned (sayuri ayakami) with seishinkan, a kekkei genkai aligned with the spiritual power of chakra maneuvering. it affects perceptions, health and even can cause/absorb physical blows to an extent for redistribution later. it works on the basis of the very existence of the otsutsuki clan, how they manipulate space-time, dimensional and planetary jutsu.
[she's basically the non-overpowered and very much human version of eida]
akihiro has a unique romantic subplot with sayuri, a character tied to an ancient clan and her own burdens. their bond develops naturally through shared hardships and mutual growth. this romance feels organic and adds emotional stakes. while i have nothing against boruto’s dynamic with sarada, the uchiha-uzumaki thing feels a little overdone.
but this above all is a shounen series that i'm making with emphasis on action and politics in the ninja world. so, i'm not sure how romance will fly in this universe. (what do you all think?)
greater role for older characters
characters like naruto, sasuke, sakura, gaara, shikamaru, the other kages and the previous generation have pivotal roles throughout the story. they don’t fade into the background but instead serve as mentors, fighters, and emotional anchors.
especially during the stand against the monsters and managing the political uproar caused by the kaguya cult. this respects their legacy while highlighting the generational transition, something boruto struggles with.
a new way to beat the otsutsuki
like i said, many characters will play different yet very important role in building up to and even during the final stand against the all-powerful otsutsuki.
minor characters and even less power shinobi from the alliances collectively will help in taking down the enemies bit by bit. humanity’s triumph over the otsutsuki wouldn't rely solely on godlike powers or specific individuals like boruto and kawaki. instead, it will involve strategies and unique abilities from many characters, such as sayuri’s seishinkan severing dimensional ties.
this makes the victory feel earned by everyone, not just a chosen few, and emphasizes teamwork and innovation over brute strength.
sasuke's absence from konoha has a real reason
sasuke’s absence is explained by his investigation of the chakra bomb incidents as he is made to be the prime coordinator of the anbu of konoha and usually the first to respond to impacted locations on short notice due to his rinnegan prowess. it's not just due vague wanderings that's he's not with his family. his return then carries significant weight.
it gives sasuke a clear purpose and enhances his arc while tying into the main story. it also builds on how sarada and souta's dynamics are, and how each twin copes with their dad not being present and mom being busy with her obligations.
this is one of the reasons why they look up to akihiro that much more because akihiro with his natural charm, abilities and ties to the hokage is somewhat popular amount his peers. despite this, he is welcoming towards the uchiha twins and takes them under his wing, sticking up for them and not letting them be turned into social pariahs.
sayuri's seishinkan and her clan
sayuri's seishinkan is a unique spiritual kekkei genkai, not a derivative of the byakugan or sharingan. her clan’s history ties into the otsutsuki invasion and ancient conflicts. this avoids redundancy in bloodline abilities while adding depth to the lore.
villains across all tiers
the otsutsuki threat isn’t limited to godlike figures. generals, zetsu-like soldiers, and mutated creatures provide challenges for all levels of ninja. this ensures that even lower-ranked ninjas and civilians play meaningful roles, unlike in boruto where only top-tier fighters matter.
the pacing of the story
the story spans akihiro’s growth from age 16 to 19, with major arcs that focus on mystery, politics, and personal relationships. the pacing is deliberate, allowing for more character development and emotional moments. this approach feels more cohesive and satisfying compared to boruto’s often disjointed plotlines.
this rewrite creates a more balanced, grounded, and emotionally resonant narrative compared to boruto. it respects the legacy of naruto’s generation, develops a new generation with their own unique abilities and struggles, and introduces the otsutsuki as a nuanced, terrifying threat that can’t simply be punched away.
— NOTES. again, this is simply my take on the poorly faring sequel to naruto, a franchise that deserves to be hailed for it's dynamic worldbuilding and major contribution into shaping what shounen has become today.
if you want me to go in-depth about any of the plot points, feel free to ask in my askbox or comments. i want to start writing this as soon as possible and the more input i get from fellow fans of this universe, the better the end result will be.

Some eldritch hunters au (EH AU)
Basically this au is like… mild fantasy au where they’re monster hunters and ect and yeah… idk how to explain it lmao
Here’s a height chart btw (reason why Sasuke is shorter is bc he’s a different species) but Naruto is the average height of a 25-30 year old man so crazy how large they are
This au is mostly in fact centered around Naruto, shikamaru, choji, sai, and Kakashi shenanigans while they hunt monsters and eldrich creatures
Hinata also
Is a god in this au bc ermmm I said so…
But on one of the gangs hunting escapades go slightly wrong Naruto gets separated from the group but prior they were sneaking by a monster festival/traditional thing and he accidentally made eye contact with hinata while she was doing a ritualistic dance and hinata in this au has more of a malicious tone (backstory reasons) and she finds humans really entertaining and loves screwing with them soley for entertainment purposes. So hinata ends up circling Naruto when he’s isolated from the other guys and they end up having a moment (explains the first drawing in the right hand corner where hinata shapeshifts herself to look human to screw around with Naruto)
Other details included under cut
Hyuga branch members in this au dont sport a seal (since chakra isn’t necessarily real in this au) they’re horns are shaved/cut down to signify that they aren’t the main family or the royal blood of the family. but depending on how short the cut is tells what they do.
Only the tips are cut - medical or assassin type
Only a quarter cut - regular member or elder/fresh parent
Half cut - body guards main soldiers and fighters
Cut to skull - outcast/seen as useless/rejects/exiled
No cut - royal/main family
There’s so much lore I cannot just like explain 😭😭

[Kawaki's mental instability and Boruto's responsibility]
1- The line Kawaki crossed.
Something always comes up during Kawaki character-related discussions, which is the implication of Kawaki becoming "crazy" due to his attachment to Naruto.
It was first introduced by Amado, who claimed Kawaki's love for Naruto is veering on madness. In case he meant to describe Kawaki's unhealthily obsession in an over-exaggerated manner, it fits but not really.
Amado was wrong, mostly projecting his own craziness about his daughter on Kawaki. After all, someone who abandons his daughter's needed treatment because he could recreate her is not a sane person to begin with.
Let's take Kawaki back prior to Momoshiki's third takeover.
He was exactly in the same situation he is in now but worse: Code was out there vengeful same as now, Boruto was a real threat who'd turn into an Otsutsuki soon and on top of that nobody had any powers to stop either of them.
On a light note, Kawaki was clinically depressed, anxious to say the least. He suffered a mental setback as a result; nightmares, mode swings, compulsive self-deprecating.. Etc.
Yet, not once, not in a single fleeting panel, not even in his thoughts he considered the idea of Boruto dying for the purpose of getting ride of Momoshiki.
The opposite, he was afraid for him. He didn't want Boruto to die enough to suggest implanting Karma (the thing he hates most) on Code to save him (which also served as a way to protect Naruto but it was for Boruto's sake mostly).
When it came down to fighting Code, he couldn't take the risk. He believed Boruto would die and asked him to leave the battle-field asap even though Boruto dying to Code is one threat down.
Boruto was always a threat, Kawaki knew it. He fought Momoshiki before and cautioned Boruto about it to his face but he didn't and couldn't acknowledge the implication of what that means.
Boruto being a threat was a reality Kawaki didn't want to face, much like his need for Karma.
When Momoshiki took over at the end of Isshiki's arc, Kawaki couldn't accept Boruto was gone even when he actually was at that time.
He kept full high on denial unlike Sasuke and Naruto, he'd look at Momoshiki and see Boruto solely in there.
They were separate entities in his head until Code's battle forced him to accept the bitter truth.
Shikamaru made a point of Kawaki not hesitating to kill a comrade, which he saw as an issue born from his unhealthy obsession with Naruto, that it made him mentally unstable.
He is not completely wrong, Kawaki's fear of losing Naruto is so strong, it triggers panic attacks and emotional breakdowns. But that didn't drive him crazy, it drove him to be self-sacrificial.
Before the Code battle, Naruto basically showered him with affection and assurances but Kawaki's conclusion wasn't to get Karma back & kill Boruto/Code to keep Naruto safe.
His answer was to kill himself so they could all live.
The point I'm making; Kawaki's mental instability/madness wasn't born out of Kawaki's attachment to Naruto itself. He didn't go around promising death on anyone who might or will be a threat to Naruto regardless of how much he himself loves them.
What really drove him crazy was this:
狂ってなきゃできねえんだよ兄弟殺しなんてよ
Kuruttenakya dekinē nda yo kyōdai koroshi nante yo
Viz screwed up the line. It's whole meaning was lost.
Quick JP lesson:
Kurutte : Going/becoming crazy/mad.
nakya: Have to.
dekinē nda yo: Can't/unable to.
kyōdai koroshi: killing a brother.
nante: Something like/ such as.
The "yo" is just for emphasizes.
So the full line will be "[You/I] have to go crazy or [you/I] won't be able to do it. Something like killing [your/my] brother."
Why Japanese don't have pronounces?
Kawaki is a very self-aware person. He sat there and shamelessly admitted the most embarrassing things about how he sees himself and what Naruto is to him, but what he associated with craziness- what he had to force himself to go crazy for; wasn't Naruto.
It was killing his Brother.
Experts say there had been cases where patients ended up being clinically crazy or depressed because they forced themselves to pretend to be those things.
Under the dire circumstances, Kawaki was forced to instantly accept Boruto needs to die.
He didn't process this decision, unlike Naruto/Shikamaru, he wasn't on the sidelines.
He had a split second to decide, and another to act on it.
The hesitation Shikamaru searched for in Kawaki's demeanor when he killed Boruto wasn't there because he didn't process his emotions, he gave priority to understanding the stakes.
"It's a do or die now"
And the opposite of processing your emotions, is shutting them out.
If Kawaki didn't stomp on his emotions, he wouldn't have been able to do it.
He didn't have the luxury to in fact, as nobody else there would've taken the burden.
So he took this responsibility upon himself, willingly sacrificing his sanity to succeed.
In other words, killing Boruto was like crossing a line.
Boruto got to come back from it, mentally unscathed, Kawaki didn't.
2- The burden of being Boruto's brother, Kawaki's responsibility.
For all Boruto's gifts, emotional intelligence wasn't one of those.
From the very first arc of the manga up until his resolution in ch80, Boruto suffered a consistent flaw of misjudging people based on his personal impression of them. He doesn't strive to get a better understanding of someone.
If he forms an idea of somebody, he doesn't budge unti he's forced to.
Examples:
Believing Naruto was a useless good for nothing despite everybody's attempt to make him understand.
Painting Tento as an insufferable brat without realizing how much they had in common.
Assuming a stranger like Ao was a good man based on 1 conversation, little did he know..
Defined Kawaki's whole existence based on his first impression of him (more on this later).
What I get from this is Boruto loves to be certain and right. He hates being in the gray area where he doesn't know what he thinks of someone or what his thoughts are about something.
He hates doubt, unsureness.
It's a flaw that he isn't very self-aware of:
His first impression of Kawaki is based on an incident he wasn't present when it happened so he had little to no proof yet he was quick to point fingers and fill in the blanks about this new person he just met.
Ripped off a very long Kawaki analysis that never saw the light;
During the first few days the author depicted how estranged and alienated Kawaki was from everyone else on both social and emotional level. This was first shown in the famous vase scene when he broke it accidentally, creating a dispute between him and Boruto.
The narrative purpose of this sub plot is to parallel Kawaki, a self-estranged person, with Boruto who grew up normally and healthily which allowed him to learn and be capable of engaging emotionally with other people and his own feelings.
Contrasting Kawaki’s disengaged state, who knew what he did to Hima’s vase was a mistake as a matter-of-fact but didn’t really connect with Hima’s sadness or get why it was even important, making his apology come of as shallow and diminishing.
Boruto on the other hand didn’t catch on Kawaki’s detachment state and thought he was being intentionally uncaring.
Boruto adoration of Kawaki came as one of those moments where Boruto stands corrected. Except this time Boruto has messed up pretty bad, almost getting his sister killed if it wasn't for Kawaki.
This was the beginning of Boruto's growing dependence on Kawaki. It's not far-fetched to claim their relationship is mostly carried by guilt and reliance on Boruto's part.
Kawaki always came in a clutch for him, be it saving Himawari, saving Naruto & Sasuke, or saving Naruto later on. Boruto (& Momoshiki) would've killed or caused the death of plenty of people many times otherwise.
As a result he developed a sense of dependence and thought he could do anything so long Kawaki was by his side which Kawaki didn't reciprocate.
In Japanese he basically said "Hurry up and be independent, you mf"
There's always this wedge between them, because Boruto never knew true despair or what being unsafe feels like. All these incidents were mere "big missions" to him, it's how he navigates his path as a Shinobi.
But for Kawaki, it was about survival. For he knew what irreversible damage is, the things he can't take back, things that can't be repaired.
He doesn't feel safe and motived just because somebody he cares about is around. Be it Naruto or Boruto, not when they are as powerless as he is.
The only reason Kawaki felt safe enough to actually start mentally healing after Delta's fight, was because he thought Naruto could take care of Jigen.
Boruto doesn't understand that. What he views as a "big victory over Momoshiki", the dying part he didn't care about because he was "prepared", it broke Kawaki.
And he let him do it, asked him to, in fact. Then tried to paint it as a proof of their brotherhood, the highlight of their bond as it's so strong and special, he can even ask Kawaki to kill him, you see?
That, "he did it cuz we are bros".
Boruto couldn't be more wrong.
It wasn't about him. Kawaki would've killed anybody who threatens Naruto's life, that person being his brother merely drove him unhinged.
Boruto thought they were in this together, that part was correct at first. Kawaki kept his promise to him and took the burden of fulfilling it.
Sacrificing his sanity, his life in the village and his relationship with Naruto.
None of those consequences crossed Boruto's mind. He's comfortable knowing Kawaki or Sasuke would deal with Momoshiki if he came out, all he has to do is die which is not a big deal for him as he sees honor in Shinobi death.
Kawaki shouldn't have been "the only person he could ask him to do it" but the last one, if Boruto understood what being in Kawaki's place means.
3- The burden of being Kawaki's brother, Boruto's responsibility.
Of all the people Boruto misjudged, Kawaki remained the only one Boruto couldn't get a grasp of. Even when he comes so close to figuring him out, there is always something missing; Experience.
For instance, he understands Naruto means a lot to Kawaki but never why. Therefore he can't comprehend the actions Kawaki takes to keep him safe.
He doesn't know what it feels like living years of nothingness, then someone gives something to you.
Same goes for Kawaki's self-blaming, self-destructive behavior.
Regardless, Boruto spared no effort to help Kawaki.
It was him who compromised first to begin with, claiming him as a brother without expecting Kawaki to change himself, or have anything in return.
He made a promise to him to help him defeat his abuser.
He gave him his headband to make him feel included and one of them.
Having a loved one who suffers from mental disorders is a burden, you always have to put extra effort you put in dealing with a healthy person.
Boruto never gave up on him even when Kawaki stepped out of line during the training scene, or trying to sacrifice himself despite how Naruto would feel about it.
He stuck to his side and didn't budge.
But he was unable to see the world from Kawaki's perspective which created a disconnection between how they feel about that incident.
Boruto seemed to go about his life, naive enough to believe it changed nothing.
For Kawaki, his mental stability took a great hit- at some point he even forgot what he was supposed to do; protect Naruto and the village via his Otsutsuki acquired powers because they'd have an early death otherwise. Yet he imposed that fate on Sarada with his own hand.
A visualized proof of Shikamaru's warning to Sarada before she disobeyed him and left, that Kawaki was basically crazy at the moment.
He couldn't think straight, operating solely on what he deemed "facts" rather than how he felt.
His breakdown in front of Eida showcased a great deal of emotional blockage.
An emotional blockage is activated in certain situations to cushion the impact of a negative situation or event that can be very painful for us.
His thought process devolved from facts, to bargaining to an emotional blow.
Despite his resolve to protect Naruto at all costs - including killing Boruto - he never came in terms with Boruto's death up until after Omnipotence.
Boruto's responsibility:
From his point of view, he was the one who cornered Kawaki to cross all lines.
In a way, he was.
Boruto himself didn't commit any wrongdoings, he is not to blame for Momoshiki's rampages but he is the carrier, even though he didn't choose to be.
But realistically, if you were carrying a certain illness that potentially could destroy everyone around you but you adamantly chose to live, wouldn't you be responsible if somebody got hurt because of that?
Boruto reached two realizations in ch80.
1- He lost his brother who in turn lost himself as well, because he was too weak and dependant on him. He threw the burden of dealing with Momoshiki on Kawaki, allowing him to be a brother killer which drove Kawaki insane.
It was too much to ask, after all it's Kawaki who's going to have to kill/stop him again in the future which Boruto realized it was meant to happen if he didn't do something.
Despite Boruto's initial confidence of being in control, Momoshiki took over anyways and he almost lost to him completely if Sasuke didn't save him.
It was like a reality-check for him.
2- If he wants to live, he needs to deal with his own problem. Get stronger and rectify things himself for a change. Otherwise he could just die and end it all, or continue to burden Kawaki and the others which did nobody any good.
From the angle Boruto sees this whole situation, he lost nothing except Kawaki.
So the cheerful mindset that always naively over-simplified dire situations as big missions, refuses to see the current situation as anything but a setback.
Because he experienced loss this time, his brother, and he couldn't accept that.

a/n : this is my first fanfic sorry if it’s bad😭
this story follows the events of naruto season 1 episode 1
“I’m at the end of my rope, Naruto” Iruka Sensei reprimands
“You failed the graduation test last time and the time before that” Iruka Sensei continues
“Tomorrow you got another chance, and you’re messing up again” Iruka Sensei continues to reprimand him
“Hmph!” Naruto pouts
You just roll your eyes at the scene and turn to Hinata
“Naruto is always causing trouble” you complain
“I know” Hinata say staring at Naruto
“You practically have hearts in your eyes” you joke then giggle
She looks away from him and covers her face
you turn back to the scene in front of you

ShikaFemNaru Masterlist
The list is from newest to oldest
of parties and pesky friends
Naruto’s heart beats faster and faster the closer Shikamaru’s face becomes. She inwardly curses in fear that her long-time crush could hear her heart beating so loud. She resists the urge to push him away and bolts out of the apartment and into the safety of her one. But when Shikamaru’s eyes drop to her lips, his tongue darting out to wet his suddenly dry lips, she finds her eyes flutter shut and a gentle sigh rushes past her nose when she feels Shikamaru’s lips capture hers in a soft embrace. or: in which shikamaru is dared to kiss naruto.
an unbreakable bond
Growing up in an orphanage after her parents were possessed and killed by the Shadows - demonic creatures which possess humans to carry out their selfish and evil raison d'être- Naruto vowed to herself that she would never allow for anyone to have a similar fate as her parents.
the boy with the guitar
The first song that Shikamaru played was unfamiliar to Naruto but she swayed along to the melody. Perhaps it sounded nice. Or maybe it was because Shikamaru was the one playing it. Whatever it was, Naruto enjoyed it and she couldn’t help the hyper romanticized images playing in her head of her and Shikamaru dating, falling in love and getting married. She was sure that if Sakura could take a look at her brain, she would roll her eyes so hard they’d fall off of her eye socket.
a kiss that lingers
Naruto and Shikamaru had met on the set of one of their earlier films as the supporting couple. They instantly hit it off and the two were inseparable. Being young and drugged by the intensity of their puppy love, the two eloped six months after their first meeting and had remained married in secrecy for five years before the two ultimately had broken up before Naruto’s 25th birthday.
For Konoha
“These were your mother’s.” Sakura said quietly as she clasped the necklace around Naruto’s neck while Ino screwed the earrings shut, “Kakashi had them with him and kept them for this special day.” Once the two girls were finally done and satisfied with their work, they took a step back to admire the soon to be bride. “I can’t believe it, Naruto.” Sakura choked, blinking her eyes to rid of the unshed tears as happiness overwhelmed her, “You’re getting married!
following the trend
in which naruto discovers the "i kissed my best friend challenge"
just ask her out already!
in which shikamaru is a shy barista and naruto is suffering over her midterms.
all grown up
Hatake Kakashi was not a stalker. It’s true! He was just doing his job as an active Jonin trying to protect his village and its citizens from any harm or threat that may come their way. And yes, following (not stalking) his former student and making sure that her classmate didn’t try to do anything funny with creepy shadows is in the job description of being a Jonin. Simple.
Kisses
Shikamaru made his way towards the couch. His heart clenched at the sound of small sniffles coming from his girlfriend. Standing directly behind the armrest, he crouched down and looked at her upside down. Smiling softly, he leaned closer and closer until he was just a few inches above her face.
Not Alone
Kakashi won’t admit it but he always hated seeing Naruto pack her belongings and made her way home. When they were in the academy, he would watch as all of the kids ran up to their parents and walk with them home except for Naruto. It reminded him so much of himself.
Cuddles
All Naruto wanted to do was cuddle her boyfriend after going on a long mission.
Comfort
It all happened after that one day when Shikamaru went over to Naruto’s house to comfort her after the death of Jiraiya-sama.

Ok, but who out of all the Naruto boys would be extremely sensitive while pregnant 🥺
For me, it's a tie between Naruto and Choji for being the biggest crybabies while pregnant
Biggest cry babies while in their third trimester:
Most likely to cry
Lee - He cries about twice as much, which easily puts him at the top of this list XD He cries about everything, but he cries especially hard when you settle on a name for the pup. He isn't sure why, but once his pup has a name, they feel real and he bawls and bawls and bawls, for days.
Sasuke - He cries from genuine distress mostly. Hates being pregnant, can't sleep, he's too hot all the time, the fact that there's a person inside him makes him want to rip out his internal organs, basically it's too much for him. He doesn't cry easily, but this is the exception period in his life.
Iruka - He cries randomly for the whole of his third trimester. You're not sure what the triggers are, but neither is he. You'll be talking normally with him, but suddenly his face screws up and he gets emotional over nothing. His hormones are all over the place, you'll have to forgive him.
Naruto - This is where we get into the normal levels of emotional (for a pregnant omega anyway haha.) Naruto gets emotional sometimes, normally over something silly like running out of ramen, and he knows it's stupid, but he can't help but tear up. And if he happens to get over stressed while pregnant, he has a good cry for the catharsis.
Itachi - He cries a fair amount, maybe once a week, normally at the end of the week when everything boils over. He's humiliated by a lot of pregnancy things and he's so sick, he has to rely on his alpha for everything. You have to help him to the bathroom and he's always embarrassed about it. He doesn't like relying, so he boils over about once a week from frustration and helplessness.
Chouji - Sheds a few tears every now and then, mainly when he sees a very cute baby toy or blanket, or when he's in bed with his alpha talking about all the things they're going to do with the new pup. He cries and smiles at the same time, and he only cries happy tears.
Shino - He only cries once or twice while he's pregnant, mainly in the middle of the night alone. He doesn't want to be negative with his alpha, he feels guilty for worrying or having negative thoughts, so he cries alone a handful of times when it all gets too much. He will never tell.
Neji - This is where we get to 'doesn't really cry' territory. He is so ultra focused on tracking everything. Calories, baby movements, food diary, water intake etc. No room in his time for crying, he's got to focus on keeping him and his baby healthy. He will only cry from relief if he thinks something was going wrong with the baby, but it turned out fine. He also cried when he found out he was going to be able to breastfeed. He only cries a big, emotional moments.
Gaara - He doesn't cry much at all. He's in awe of everything and so interested in watching his baby develop inside him. He takes everything, the good and the bad, gracefully. He tears up a few times when people take care of him, like you or his siblings, because it makes him feel loved, and the hormones force those emotions to make him tear up.
Kiba - He also doesn't cry much. He knows what he's doing and he takes it all in stride haha. He's also probably got other pups to attend to, no time to cry and he also doesn't want to scare them by crying in front of them. He believes in being strong in front of his pups so they feel safe and protected by him.
Shikamaru - Why cry when he's spending like 8 months relaxing at home with his alpha taking care of his every whim?? This is the best period of his life.
Haku - So serene it's almost funny. Says 'oh' when something hurts a lot and then just moves on. He is smiling even as he's being sick or bed bound. There is no stress in him about pregnancy, he's all smiles. Never cries.
Least likely to cry

I adore them being the best of their fields but also disturbingly good at each others too. Like there’s only so many times Sakura and Sasuke can listen to Naruto talk about highly advanced seals without picking up some things. Only so many times Sasuke can talk about jutsu creation before they try it themselves. Only so many times Sakura can talk about pressure points and healing before they understand it too.
And then combining each others knowledge instead of neatly separating everything like the sannin before them did. No more is it Tsunades healing and strength, Jiraiya’s sealing and spying, or Orochimaru’s jutsus and swordsmanship. It’s Naruto and Sakura making a seal to heal someone, Sasuke and Sakura creating lightning jutsus that specifically target the nervous system, Naruto and Sasuke creating new moves that combine their wind and fire.
Also them having terribly screwed standards bc they’ve been around the best if the best since the beginning.
And it’s not just them combining talents. It’s in the middle of a battle when Naruto is too far gone into Jinchuriki mode to need a weapon Sakura could take the sword orochimaru had gifted him and use it just as well as Naruto can. It’s their summons listening to the other two just as readily as the one that signed the contract. It’s Naruto, even lost to Kurama’s power still recognizing Sakura and Sasuke and them being able to calm him down again.
It’s them being so connected that those closest to them joke that they’re one soul in three bodies. It’s teasing of Ino and whoever else would be romantically interested that they would be gaining three spouses instead of the one. It’s further down the line if they were to have kids all of them being raised as siblings more than cousins because Naruto Sasuke and Sakura cannot imagine another option.
It’s the three of them on unofficially sharing the hat with Naruto as their face.
It’s Konoha as it could have been without the constant curse of Team Seven shattering time and time again.
Please just everyone being so down with how skewed their perception of what should be reasonably possible for three people
Shikamaru: you’re telling me the three of you stopped what could have been the start of another war pretty much single-handedly?
Naruto: What like it’s hard?
Shikamaru: For most people yes it is hard!

Ninja From Another Land
Part Three
Here it is, my most popular fic so far. Thank you for reading~
wc: 1k
The cycle of studying with Sakura and training with Sasuke consumed most of your days. On the weekends, Naruto invited you to hang out a lot too because he lived close by. You knew that Naruto needed a friend. For his entire life up to this point, he had been shunned by the village and was lonely. He needed someone to interact with and care about him. That person was going to be you.
“Naruto, if you cleaned up like once a week, you wouldn’t be so overwhelmed when you clean.” You were going through his apartment with a giant garbage bag. You cleared out a ton of trash.
You did two loads of laundry. One was his bedding and the other was his clothes. While those were going you cleaned his bathroom and vacuumed. Surfaces were wiped down and you organized the fridge and his cabinets. While you made his bed, you made Naruto wash his dishes. When the job was done his apartment looked so much better.
“This was a one time service. I can’t stand messes.” You chirped as you took a seat on his clean bed.
“Thanks, (Y/n).” Naruto said sheepishly. “I’ll do my best to keep it clean.”
“Good. The Hokage should be organized and clean.”
You didn’t really get into trouble as you were too busy learning to be a ninja. You spent countless hours alone in your apartment with books from the library. You were currently working on medical jutsu, so you could heal Naruto after he gets himself in trouble pulling a prank.
Sometimes Naruto would skip school to get up to no good. Which brought you to your current situation. Iruka was called away to help bring Naruto back to school.
Since the class was left unattended, students roamed the room. They talked to their friends, but weren’t super disruptive. You decided to take a quick nap at your desk.
“Mind if I join you? People are being so annoying by my spot.” Shikamaru took Sakura’s spot since she was sitting closer to Sasuke.
“Go ahead. Let this be the sanctuary for all those who wish to nap.” You yawned and settled back into a comfortable position to fall asleep in again.
Shikamaru just watched you with his arms crossed and his face blushing. You weren’t such a drag like a lot of his classmates. You actually did a pretty good job of minding your own business. The Nara boy put his head down on the desk next to you and drifted off. The warmth he radiated made your unconscious self shift closer.
You woke up with your head leaned against Shikamaru’s arm. His head rested on yours, providing protection. He quickly separated from you to go back to his seat. Iruka was back with Naruto and he was pissed.
“Listen, Naruto. You failed the last graduation test and the one before that. This is no time to be goofing off!” Naruto couldn’t care less about Iruka’s rant, and it really pissed your teacher off. “That’s it! We’re going to have a re-test on the Transformation Jutsu! Even those who already passed will have to retake it!” The entire class groaned. This was episode one.
Everyone lined up to take the test.
“Sakura Haruno. Here I go…transform!” With a puff of smoke she looked exactly like Iruka.
“You pass.”
“I did it! Did you see that, Sasuke?”
“Next, Sasuke Uchiha!” Iruka called out.
Sasuke transformed into Iruka with ease. Your teacher became a little uncomfortable with your classmates transforming into him, they really didn’t have to.
“Next, Naruto Uzumaki.”
“This is such a drag.” Shikamaru complained.
“This is your fault, we always have to pay for your screw ups.” Ino grumbled.
“As if I care.” Naruto smirked as he went up to transform.
The smoke cleared revealing a naked girl version of Naruto with her long blond hair in pigtails. Convenient smoke covered her breasts and crotch as Naruto blew a kiss towards Iruka. The teacher got a nosebleed.
“Got ya! I call that the Sexy Jutsu!” Naruto laughed boisterously.
“Naruto!! Quit making up idiotic jutsus!”
Through the months you became friends with Shikamaru, Choji, Kiba, and Shino as well as the girls and Naruto. Sasuke didn’t really interact with you much other than the training sessions after school.
When the day of the final exam came you were ready. You put on your konoha fit and showed up ready to pass. Some kids were studying at the last minute while they waited for their turn. You just conserved your chakra for the test.
“We’re about to start the graduation test. When your name is called, proceed to the next classroom. The test is on the Clone Jutsu.” Iruka explained.
Sakura went before you, so you had a mostly one sided conversation with Hinata about her seasonal color analysis because you were going to help her find confidence in herself by helping her control an aspect of her life such as the colors she wears to compliment her appearance. You would not let your home girl walk around without knowing what she looks good in. You were too fabulous to let your friends be unstylish. Not that she was ever unfashionable, you were just giving suggestions. She was totally a soft summer.
Your turn finally arrived, and Hinata wished you luck. You quickly thanked her as you hurried off to the examination room. Once inside, the examiners brought their full attention upon you. You immediately noticed the selection of headbands awaiting those who passed. You were going to get one of those.
You put your hands up in the correct sign and focused your chakra. With a puff of smoke three figures identical to you appeared. You held their existence until Iruka and Mizuki told you that you passed. With their blessing, you took a (color) headband.
You reached a major milestone in your journey. Graduating from the ninja academy was just the beginning. Being tested yet again and being put on a team was the next step, and it would determine how much of the story you would influence.
Once everyone was done testing, them and their parents gathered around the academy. Congratulations were going around and so many parents were proud of their children. Naruto sat alone on the infamous swing.
“Look over there. That’s the boy. I heard he’s the only one who failed.” One lady said to another.
“Good. Imagine what would happen if he became a ninja.” The other replied with contempt.
“Honestly. Don’t you have anything better to do than talk shit about a child?” You glared up at them.
“You- You’re the one who graduated at the top of the class with Sasuke Uchiha!”
“That’s right. Don’t mess with my buddy, Naruto, ya hear?” You fixed them with a glare that could have burned them alive.
To celebrate your graduation, you, Hinata, Sakura, and Ino had a sleepover. Sakura and Ino were passive aggressive towards each other the whole time while Hinata tried to mediate to no avail. You just cracked jokes and ate constantly.
Getting a positively mischievous idea, you requested the attention of your friends.
“Let’s play a game from where I’m from. It’s called truth or dare. We spin a bottle and whoever spins it asks the person it points to ‘truth or dare’. If you pick truth, you have to answer a question truthfully. And if you pick dare then you have to do whatever they dare you to do.”
Ino and Sakura immediately agreed. Hinata became nervous, so you assured her that she wouldn’t have to do anything crazy. With that, you found a glass bottle and placed it in the middle of the circle you sat in on your bed.
“Since I suggested the game, I’ll spin first.” The bottle pointed to Ino. “Truth or dare?”
“Dare.” She said after a moment of thought.
“I dare you to give your best impression of a person of your choice who isn’t Sakura.” The ending was necessary. Ino faked a yawn before letting a bored expression cross her face.
“This is such a drag.” The way she deepened her voice and made it sound annoyed had you and Sakura doubling over in laughter.
“Sh-Shikamaru?!” Hinata flushed in surprise at the insinuation.
“Alright!! You spin the bottle now.” You brought the attention back to the bottle between you.
“Sakura! Truth or dare?”
“Truth.” Sakura chose carefully.
“What would you wear on a date?”
“I’d wear a light colored dress with puffy sleeves and a full skirt that stops just above the knees.” Sakura said dreamily as she imagined it.
“That’s so childish. A full skirt? Really??” Ino snickered.
“Chill Regina George, we’re still like 12.” You pointed out. Even though you weren’t mentally 12, it was nice to have some of your childhood back.
“Who’s that?”
“She’s a mean girl, but like an icon. The it girl of her school.” You explained.
“I can live with that.” Ino shrugged.
The four of you decided to do karaoke after truth or dare. Well, Hinata didn’t really pick anything, she just went with what everyone else wanted to do. Not that she really minded though. All of the songs Sakura and Ino sang were very unfamiliar to you. You thought about your choices for your turn.
Genres:
Rock- Teenagers by My Chemical Romance
Hip Hop/R&B- No Scrubs by TLC
Pop- Die Young by Kesha
Alt- Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High by Arctic Monkeys
“Okay my song is called (your song).” You said before singing. When you finished, the girls stared at you.
If you chose:
Rock
“That song was certainly…interesting.” Ino sweat dropped.
“Kind of weird.” Sakura lied as her inner self actually vibed with it. Hinata looked a little bit intimidated.
Hip Hop/R&B
“I love that! I only want the best man…Sasuke.” Ino squealed.
“Too bad you’ll have to settle for someone else.” Sakura told her.
“Let’s not fight now…” Hinata nervously piped in.
Pop
“That was a good one.” Sakura said cheerfully.
“Makes me wanna dance.” Ino swayed from side to side.
“So fun.” Hinata whispered.
Alt
“That had a nice sound to it.” Hinata commented dreamily.
“Not really my vibe.” Sakura shrugged.
“I liked it.” Ino side-eyed Sakura.

Who do you think was the most wasted characters in Naruto? And just for fun, who's someone you think was actually used the perfect amount?
Woof, where to begin. Well, if you're talking about wasted female characters you gotta start with every single female character, I think
No, wait, granny Chiyo got it pretty good. She had her own personal arc, fought a main villain and went out on her own terms in a pretty emotional moment. Even when she got revived in the war she didn't get screwed over, which is pretty rare
Tayuya from the Sound 4 too. Yeah, she was only a disposable mook, but she had a badass design, some sick summonings, kicked Shikamaru's ass, and got killed by Temari. Short, sweet and to the point. The rest of the sound 4 as well were pretty good for being disposable mooks
All the jinchuriki except Naruto, Killer Bee and Gaara got screwed over too, literally offscreened and they got fuck all backstory or development. Same with the biju
The raikage and the tsuchikage got done decently well, though unfortunately I can't say the same about Mei Terumi, the mizukage and the only person in the series with two bloodline limits. You'd think someone like that would be front and center on every fight, showing her vast arsenal of elemental jutsu, but alas, she was a female character in Naruto, so she was fucked from the beginning
Danzo also got wasted. He was hyped as the dark face of the ninja world, and when he finally got some action it was with a hax Uchiha jutsu. And then he died with some half-assed bromance with Hiruzen
Karin, Jugo and Suigetsu got done dirty too. Karin specially, but the boys as well. It's a crying shame Jugo never got to meet the reincarnated Kimimaro, that would've been great to see
Kimimaro was actually used the perfect amount. He came, beat Naruto, served to show Lee's drunken fist, showed off the best level 2 cursed seal design, nearly killed Gaara and died like a beast. Respect
I feel like if we're talking about Naruto character we gotta add a third category besides "wasted" and "perfect" which would be "death by overexposure". Here would be characters like Orochimaru, who went from one of the best villains in the series to... uh... whatever the fuck he became when he got revived
Kabuto too. I don't like that he transformed himself into a dragon sage but it would've been a decent end for his story I think, trying to one-up Orochimaru and failing. Him getting a rushed redemption and ending up running an orphanage was. What the fuck were you thinking Kishi. Seriously
Minato would fall in the same category. Flashback!Minato is a spectacular ninja, truly deserving of the title of hokage. 4th ninja war Minato is lame, makes stupid names for his attacks, and got two power-ups he didn't need and shouldn't have gotten at all
Hot take maybe but I think Kakashi should've stayed dead after the Pain saga. He got one good moment after the war, which was his second fight with Zabuza, and that was it. The whole Obito storyline wasn't good for anybody (although it made one spectacular fight in the anime), and him choosing to become Hokage because Obito asked, when TSUNADE WAS RIGHT THERE was a very bitter pill
Oh yeah speaking of Zabuza and Haku, they both were great. Getting resurrected actually helped show how much Zabuza loved Haku and how much of a travesty the edo tensei jutsu was
Jiraiya was also done perfectly. Whether he was a good character and whether him being a pervert killed his likeability are debatable topics, but he was a good mentor, a great fighter and went down like the best, paving the path for Naruto. I only wish Pain had recovered his corpse and used it to invade Konoha, can you imagine the emotional damage?
Speaking of Naruto's mentors, I think Iruka was done pretty decently. He didn't get much, true, but what he got was generally good
Most of the Cloud guys were there for show, didn't really get to do much. Same with the Rock guys. Same with Kankuro and Temari (Temari should've gone with Chiyo and Sakura to fight Sasori). Oh yeah Team 8, the poster children for wasted potential, alongside their sensei Kurenai "benched for being pregnant" Yuhi
Kisame was done great, I think. Mysterious, massively powerful, kicked his cheating sword aside when it got too horny for Killer Bee's chakra, killed himself to avoid an info leak and even after death he got one up over the good guys
Itachi, not so much. He certainly got too much overexposure after his death. Sadistic criminal Itachi was great. Kind-hearted, super genius, had-the-qualifications-to-be-Hokage-at-12-years-of-age Itachi felt like too much
Oh yeah, here's a niche one: Hanzo of the Salamander. The guy who fought the young sannin to a standstill, who gave them the title of sannin, got revived, had an unnecessary flashback bromance to a samurai and incapacitated himself, and didn't get to do anything cool at all
And well, let's close on a controversial (maybe?) note. Both Naruto and Sasuke got death by overexposure. Sasuke's storyline was way more of a mess than Naruto's but neither of them were good

Apparently Hinata didn’t care that Neji died (she apparently caused it) and only cared about holding Naruto’s hand yet…
Ino lost her dad and continued fighting after a few minutes of crying. Shikamaru lost his dad and continued fighting right after.
Did they cause their deaths?
Did they only care about winning some war that took MANY MORE LIVES than their parents death???
Like they were in the middle of a fucking war and you expect her to cry her heart out and want to commit suicide or not fight anymore???
She’s the whole reason they won the war in the first place before the Tsukinomi to place. If it wasn’t for her leading the alliance while Sakura was healing Naruto, then ya fav (Sakura) and Naruto would’ve been dead.
They expect her to mourn forever including during a war. They want her to go into depression so bad over Neji’s death so she can kill herself.
I’ve seen a ns fan say Hina should’ve committed suicide because of Neji’s death and how she doesn’t care for him that much. This person was also praising Ino for being a strong and independent woman after her father’s death. What’s the difference????
They also said that if Hina lives, she should stay single and fight depression and hopefully end up losing and she’ll take her life.
Well, Boruto proved that she’s happily married with kids and visits Neji’s grave almost everyday.
All those antis need to take a good look as Hinata was clearly in tears when Neji died and still visits his grave. There is a reason why Boruto's namesake is Bolt cause Neji means Screw. She cried and then picked herself up to support Naruto and win the war so Neji's sacrifice wouldn't be in vain.
Without her Naruto gives up those lose the war and Neji and the rest of the alliance died for nothing.
The haters seriously need to stop its just ridiculous how far they go to hate her.

Let's bring back fun ask culture one ask at a time! 😁 ❤️
The last popular ship you drew/wrote/thought about is fighting the last rare pair you drew/wrote/thought about! 😱
Who's winning?! 💪
(I say ship but if you feel more comfortable to do your last popular character vs last rare character instead that would be cool as well! 😁 Also feel free to ignore this ask completely! Please don't feel any pressure to answer ♥ )
Sending good vibes frienddddd! 🎇
First of all I think that this is very cute and I have been reblogging and encouraging anyone playing ask games because I think we should bring back more ask.
I don't actually really write for any 'popular' ships because all of mine are technically rarepair. The most popular out of those would be SasuHina the least popular rarepair is probably... I want to say HidaHina. (I am going off multi-chapters because one-shots are not good metrics)
Who is winning in a fight?
Well, Hinata and Hinata might be an even fight XD - I am screwing this up with my multi-shipping.
I think between Sasuke and Hidan, I think Sasuke would win. Hidan is reckless. If Shikamaru can rip him up, then Sasuke can.
Thank you for asking, and I will try to do more asks to my mutuals because I think that this is a good thing.
