does anybody else wish hozier would do a cover album? like he always does such a good job of taking a song and putting it into his own style instead of just copying it, i think itd be fun to have an album of some of the covers hes done as well as some new ones

i think the whole "suffering Must exist" argument is inherently invalid sometimes. like what kind of suffering? physical? as in socially? what do you mean by that? some suffering is downright destructive to not only an individual but also to us as a species, slowly and eagerly rotting us from our centers outward.

but if you mean some shit like "ah working out makes you tired" or "being bad at drawing is the first step" then ok. then maybe we should change the vernacular.

I used to work on a ranch an found it rather meditative. Not relaxing, per se, since there was always the risk that a certain oreo-coloured horse might charge in a random direction and potentially hurt himself or I (he's a sweetheart, just maladjusted), buuut still.

Folks with that sort of fantasy either don’t know the reality of these kinds of jobs (such as hauling a lot of fresh manure on the daily or finding repeatedly finding the eventual outcome of tending to critters with far shorter life expectancies than yourself) or they like the idea of isolation. Isolation plus manual labour is surprisingly comforting (unless the wasps get territorial about the gate again, in which case you're in for some trouble…).

Can- Can we address the bit where bi-dou called intersex women “Biologically male”? Is that off-topic or did I miss something? Intersex would be the biological bit; it's the physicality of what someone is. The assignment is a legal and political (and oftentimes social) status, which fluctuates as one's life brings them to different roles (and which can be changed fairly easily).

Summary: Woman, man, and nonbinary are identities; female, male, and intersex are physical attributes (which can be medically modified).

Someone told me during a writing critique that I needed to change my entire story from present tense to past tense (i have never gotten this complaint before) so I had to explain that my brain is not designed to write past tense and it gets messy when I do, it's up there with third person for me. One day I may attempt it, but that day is not this one. I just want to be in a stress-free environment (first person present tense) when I write my silly little story about a clone boy finding love in a bureaucratic hellscape from which there is no escape 😭
