He used to bite his fingers as a kid to self soothe, and Sakumo had to put the mask on him after he drew blood a few times too many

As an adult his hands still have a couple faint bite scars on them, and when really stressed he still sometimes gets the urge to bite at his hands

None of my family is on this particular social media platform (including my unfortunately otherwise-amazing unsupportive partner).

So I get to say it here and nowhere else!

Hi! I'm genderfluid. I'm in my 40s and I just figured it out. They didn't have a term for it when I was younger (well, not one fit for civilized conversation anyway), so I didn't know. There were times I was super awesome at being a girl...and times I was REALLY bad at it. I swing like a pendulum...occasionally day to day. I've been called a tomboy all my life but it never felt like it was entirely the right term. Androgynous was closer but not really... I had a non-binary friend who suggested i might be but even that didn't feel exactly right. While I didn't always feel comfortable as a girl, I also knew I wasn't trans. I like being a girl. Occasionally I feel better as a guy. Then back again. I just thought I was weird.

I am a big Good Omens fan and when everyone began describing Crowley as genderfluid, I checked out what it meant and it was like *dramatic music plays* huge revelation. I COULD be one gender, then the other, or stick as a bit of both, as extremely as I wanted and I wasn't alone in that.

I have friends who are supportive, but unfortunately my family is not. My parents are...ah...quite vocally conservative. My siblings probably don't have any idea such things exist. My current partner is wonderful in literally every other aspect... except they are very unaccepting of this. Emphatically and angrily unaccepting. So I hide it from them. I have stickers with genderfluid colors on them, but never anything that looks like a flag. I wear what clothes I can get away with. I cut my hair short last year and I love it (gave aforementioned partner a stroke tho).

But here I can talk about it.

I was masc at an event and someone called mt handsome and I could have died. I had someone call me 'young man' and nearly did a back-flip. Alternately I wore a very low-cut corset dress a few weeks ago and nearly made someone fall out of their chair. I've gone by many nicknames, stage-names, and pen-names through the years. The one I like best is Lo or Lau.

Hyperfixating on Good Omens and Our Flag Means Death and Sandman helped. Because, if nothing else, the fanfic community can be one heck of a place of self-discovery.

Now that I have it figured out, I simply feel better. I feel seen. I know genderfluidity is pretty variable, and I will probably get at least one person telling me i got it wrong, but it is what works for me. This is where I feel at home in my own skin. Finally!

(Oh yeah, did I mention I'm a filthy genderfluid pirate on the weekends? No? Well I am!)

27. 3 things you wish you did more often

Ooh this one is a good one. There's so many things I could say

Okay first reading !! I used to read like 8 books a day in my younger years but now I'm lucky if I read one book a month. I just don't take the time anymore, and it makes me really sad because I have a lot of books to read, and still I ignore them to do other things. I feel like they're judging me, I'm sorry books, I promise I'll read you all one day. I'd also like to take more time to really learn anatomy, and new drawing techniques. I feel I'm too much in my comfort zone (drawing silly guys can only do so much), and I really want to improve and progress, and I do work for it, but I wish I did it more often :/ ALSO in school I learned video editing and how to (properly) use a camera and everything, and it was. SO cool. I really want to do that more often, we made a few short films for our classes and I had a lot of fun !!
